Writing Commissions Open!

So, everyone. The time has come. The choices are either I do stripping or I start writing commissions!  I was turned down for the stripping, so, I now present- me. Writing. Uh, my writing? We’ll figure it out.

I have a fairly good grasp on the English language (usually), so I thought that thought would be a great way to expand my writing abilities and get some money for when I move out.

Need some examples of this ‘good grasped’ writing ability? It’s… uh, here, and here, and a little right here.

Most of my writing was done with a partner, but it’s fairly obvious who I write, I believe. :) I have private unreleased work if you’d like to see it.

$1 = 100

$5 = 500

$10 = 1,000

And so forth! If I get a little excited and what you wanted, well… ;) No charge.

My lovely Internet Waifu and partner in crime(s against Hux) has made a donation page to get me back on my feet!️ <3 For those of you who don’t know, I was one of the RFID scan victims of credit card fraud at SWCO.  Because I went there from overseas (Japan), I had all my cards with me. My Japanese bank account was cleaned out.  Thousands of dollars worth of savings that I might never get back, because the banks and police here are being extremely uncooperative.  (For example, the police won’t issue me a letter for reporting a crime, because they consider the fucking credit card company to be the victim, not me, who lost their entire savings???)  In addition I closed out my 2 US cards, and it will be at least 2 weeks before I can get new ones, and another week or so to make sure they’re functional. Well, I thought I could manage to get through, even though this is going to be super hard in Japan, thanks to the kindness of my employer forwarding my paycheck in order to cover my rent and bills, and friends spotting me for food and such.  However, just a few days later, my entire computer went tits up. USB ports fried, HDD clicky, motherboard on the fritz.  I need a computer, not only for my writing, which I can happily do on a piece of paper, but mostly for my work because I am self-employed and work largely from home.  Everything I do is on my computer: music, VFX, ADR, SFX, recording and editing, as well as processing photography, writing, teaching, and online counseling as a volunteer.

It’s a real catch 22 at the moment. Can’t work without a computer; can’t pay for a computer without work.  So any little bit would help!  TL;DR – I was gonna be ok, but now I need to spend almost $2500 (and that’s on the low end) to put together a new computer and FAST.  With my savings gone, I can barely get by on my pay to cover the rent and bills, so at this rate a new computer would take me several months to save for, and I just don’t have that kind of time. Anything you can do to help would be fantastic!  PS: I’ll be happy to try and make sketches for my donors, or write a drabble or something to your specs, so you can feel like you’re getting something for your help.  It may take a while for me to make good on those, with work and with KBB coming on soon though. <3

How to write fic for Black characters: a guide for non-Black fans

Don’t characterize a Black character as sassy or thuggish, especially when the character in question is can be described in literally ten thousand other ways..

Don’t describe Black characters as chocolate, coffee, or any sort of food item.

Don’t highlight the race of Black characters (ie, “the dark man” or “the brown woman”) if you don’t highlight the race of white characters.

Think very carefully about that antebellum slavery or Jim Crow AU fic as a backdrop for your romance.

If you’re not fluent with AAVE, don’t use it to try to look cool or edgy. You look corny as hell.

Don’t use Black characters as a prop for the non-Black characters you’re actually interested in.

Keep “unpopular opinions” about racism, Black Lives Matter, and other issues pertinent to Black folks out the mouths of Black characters. We know what the fuck you’re doing with that and need to stop.

Don’t assume a Black character likes or hates a certain food, music, or piece of pop culture.

You can make a Black character’s race pertinent without doing it like this.

Be extremely careful about insinuating that one or more of a Black character’s physical features are dirty, unclean, or ugly.
