Like a bush of thorns and roses,
Showing me elegant poses,
You roped me in,
Wound vines around my neck,
Held me tight with tiny daggers,
Cutting me up for hours.

I knock on the door,
you blink but don't move,
I can't wait anymore,
I leave quickly,
I don't return,
you had your chance,
and you let it burn,
kicked from my own home,
you stole warmth from me,
now I rest in my tomb,
waiting to be set free,
I hear the distant crackle,
noticing you did not cackle,
ashes, ashes,
my home fell down.

when it filters through the trees,
when it shines through the leaves,
when I can't stop to grieve,
I'm told again,
"it's sunnier on the other side".

it crackles at sunset,
brighter than anybody I've met,
hot and painful, as it came,
now I stride through the flame.

I am a rose with no thorns
no, nobody mourns,
the death of those sharp, sharp daggers
my abusers stagger
the thorns are gone
I am defenseless from the evils.

I can't hear you
it hurts too much to
my head throbs
my heart robs
all over, I ache
my ears can't take,
any sound too loud
nothing to make you proud
muffled screams
in dark dreams
I can't hear you
I am not near you.

what's love without pain?
what's patience without gain?
hearts are severed,
and we are still tethered,
my love for you knows no bounds,
it blossoms, even from anguish, so I've found,
it leaves me with no time to mope,
for in my soul, there is still winged hope.

my heart was empty,
I had loneliness to tempt me,
jab pain into my chest,
make me feel just like a pest,
your kiss is cold to my cheek,
I'm now feeble and meek,
you said you were one in a million,
now I'll be your villain.

tear me down,
make me drown,
watch me frown,
pierce words into my crown,
this isn't the worst pain I've found.

I dance among the thorns,
deafened by that wicked form,
I can't hear what you say,
all within one day,
I die,
you cry.

"The Sunflower Fields"
Standing on the hill seeing the falling sun
Watching, waiting as it sinks below the horizon
We see in the fields below
A sea filled with yellow
Sunflowers stretching as far as the eye can see
Once again reminding me
Of what happiness can be
From that hill, I fell fast
Slipping by trees, through the airs of the past
Back into a dark abyss,
surrounded by people whom I still miss
Though in my mind
I can still find,
A way to smile through the tragedy
Through the memories and the agony
Because through my eyes I can still see
That moment held between you and me
Standing on the hill watching the sun fall
Giving the early evening our all
Remembering what we feel
Above the warm sunflower field.

fields of roses,, stretching out for a mile,
and all the while,
you grace me with that sweet, sweet smile,
reminding me of what we are,
instead of gazing at the rain from afar.

you yell, you scream, you cry an ocean,
showing me such sweet emotion,
you weep, you sob, you are filled by frustration,
though when you turn your head to see,
just how your words have affected me,
you realize what's wrong and we,
we, together, look across an endless sea.

from above and onto me,
you bare the droplets of the sea,
though from such sorrow I can see,
your cold embrace becomes the key.
