Here’s a small bit of a WIP I’ve been working on recently, that is currently tentatively called Sirius’s Not-So-Estranged Brother, because I’m very proud of it:

Regulus tilted his head to the side, “a penny for your thoughts?”

“I’m thinking about how my funeral will go if we do what you're thinking and your brother finds out.” James said honestly.

Regulus rolled his eyes, pulling back a bit at the mention of his brother, “tell me, do you want to fuck my brother?”

Ok that had been the last thing James expected and his eyes went wide, “No! We aren’t like that.”

“Does he want to fuck you?”

“I’m sure he doesn’t.”

“Then he gets no say in what either of us do.” Regulus shrugged, “We are both grown adults who can do whatever we want. But if I’m honest, I don’t even think he would care all that much in the first place.”

“What makes you think that?”

“He trusts you. Who better to trust to take care of me than his best friend?” Regulus asked and James didn’t have an argument for that. And it didn’t help that Regulus leaned further in, the tips of their noses nearly touching, “don’t you want to take care of me, James?”

In a world where dark creatures haunt the shadows, Regulus has an encounter that leaves him feeling something other than scared. More like, obsessed.

hc that James was adopted and that's why effie and Monty like adopting kids and why James feels out of place. like he was a brown kid raised by white parents and constantly feels like he has to be perfect and impress them to feel like he's enough. not because effie and Monty ever did anything to pressure him, just cause he feels different than everyone else.

I’ve seen some people say that it was fake or made as satire for College Humor, but I can’t find any proof either way. It’s been scrubbed pretty thoroughly from the internet outside of a few screenshots like this one from tumblr and fan sites weighing in on it. This is her Twitter handle still though.

I do remember a big response from the fandom when this came out and mixed views on how inappropriate it was. It went semi-viral again in 2018, from what I can find, and is largely (pun intended) responsible for the hc that Remus has a big dick.

Soulmate au where since birth James has had Regulus' name on his back and only a few people about what name the mark says, one of which being Sirius

Reg takes a while to realise he's trans but when he eventually comes out, Sirius instantly recognises the name as the name of James' soulmate and decides he MUST force them into a room together to sort everything out

I love me a pseudo-historical arranged marriage au but it always nudges my suspension of disbelief when the author has to dance around the implicit expectation that an arranged marriage should lead to children, which a cis gay couple can't provide.

I know for a lot of people that's irrelevant to what they want from an Arranged Marriage plot, but personally I like playing in the weird and uncomfortable implications.

So, I've been thinking about how you would justify an obviously barren marriage in That Kind of fantasy world, and I thought it'd be interesting if gay marriage in Ye Old Fantasy Land was a form of soft disinheritance/abdication.

Like, "Oh, God, I don't want to be in this position of power please just find me a boy to marry", or, "I know you should inherit after you father passes but as your stepmother/legal guardian I think it'd make more sense if my kids got everything, so maybe consider lesbianism?", or "Look, we both know neither of our families has enough money to support that many grandkids, so let's just pair some spares and save both our treasuries the trouble".

Obviously this brings in some very different dynamics that I know not everyone would be pinged by, but I just think it'd be neat.
