HEALING A VICTIMS LIFE
For the majority of my life, I existed as a victim. I was consumed by the concern over others’ opinions. I allowed their judgments to dictate my actions and emotions. Consequently, I endured a life overshadowed by depression. I lived my life with my eyes downcast, shoulders slumped, and guided by my desire to avoid attention at all cost.  Then I read this verse this morning and it spoke to…

Be Yourself
One of my many regrets in my life, would to be myself. I wish I Allowed my inner self to shine through. I am an individual uniquely made in the image of God.  If I had a chance, I would tell my younger self: “Do not fear others seeing your true self. Relax in the circumstances you can’t change. Enjoy the little things. Touch a flower, smell the air, play, socialize, and smile.”  My younger self…

Faith
Mark 14:33-36“He took Peter, James and John with him, and he became deeply troubled and distressed. He told them, ‘My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.’ He went a little farther and fell to the ground. He prayed that, if it were possible, the awful hour awaiting him might pass him by. ‘Abba, Father,’ he cried out, ‘everything is possible to you.…

Why do I fear?
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” It’s been a long road to writing my memoirs. And my memoirs still in progress behind the curtain of fear.  So much in life points to writing my story. When I tell my stories, people say, “Do you have a book?”  My answer, “No, I just…

Never too old or too young to begin 2024 on a positive path
With the Lord, 2024 is your year to prosper.
Let no one tell you are too old or too young. There is always time to do something. Even if you have one day left, you still have time to give one more smile, forgive, hug, touch kindly, or just let your kindness come through your eyes.  Never give up on God or yourself.  Let 2024 bring you hope from above. Stand firm in your belief in Him. Remember: “The command I am giving you today is not…

The Lord hears and sees
1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT“…No eye has seen, or ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”  When I was pregnant with my second child, I worried all the time. I had questions like: how was I supposed to take care of and love another child? I was uncertain that I couldn’t be a mother of two. I did not understand how to take care of another child, let alone…

Psalm 32
This Psalm’s theme is Joy, How to have joy and the effects of no joy.
1      Oh, what joy for those
whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight!
The effects of forgiveness bring joy
2      Yes, what joy for those
whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt,
whose lives are lived in complete honesty!
When forgiven we are free of guilt brings joy
3      When I refused to confess…

Psalm 31
Psalm 31 God has an answer for our emotional pains. He hears, He sees and He answers.
A psalm of grief, depression, and distress,
In the beginning, the Psalmist asks Verse 1-5
And in the end, God answers in verse 22
The grief is so strong that the psalmist talks of the physical effects in verse 9&10
Body and soul withers away
Years shortened
Energy drained
In fact, he puts it like this, “he is wasting away from within”
  O Lord, I have come to you for protection;
don’t let me…

Psalm 30 (NLT)
God, a rescuer:
1      I will exalt you, Lord, for you rescued me.
You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.
2      O Lord my God, I cried to you for help,
and you restored my health.
3      You brought me up from the grave, O Lord.
You kept me from falling into the pit of death.
4      Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones!
Praise his holy name.
5      For his anger lasts only a moment,
but…

Psalm 28
In Psalm 28, the verses 1-5 the focus is on the problem.
verses 6-9 the focus on God is bigger than the problem
1      I pray to you, O Lord, my rock.
Do not turn a deaf ear to me.
For if you are silent,
I might as well give up and die.
The focus is on the emotion of fear.
2      Listen to my prayer for mercy
as I cry out to you for help,
as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.
Here the…

Psalm 27 "Do not fear"
Psalm 27 “Do not fear”
The Lord is my light and my salvation—
   why should I be afraid?
I see me standing on a path filled with trees on each side. The branches descending to conceal my path, but my passage is rich with sunrays coming through the trees.
My passage of life may look ominous, the trees look like they will devour me; the gloom surrounding my path looks as if I could stumble, but the sunlight warms my…

PSALM 26 CONFIDENCE
PSALM 26  This Psalms shows confidence in thinking, actions and then the psalmist asks for help.
    CONFIDENT IN HIS THINKING
1      Declare me innocent, O Lord,
for I have acted with integrity;
I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.
2      Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me.
Test my motives and my heart.
CONFIDENCE IN HIS ACTIONS
3      For I am always aware of your unfailing love,
and I have lived according to your truth.
4      I do not spend time with liars
or go along…

Psalm 25
Verse 1-3
I love how this Psalm starts out. The Psalmist tells God what he will produce or rather what he
will believe. He declares I commit my life and I will depend on you.
Verse 2: the Psalmist asks God to not allow disgrace.
Verse 3: He realizes that all who trusts because disgrace comes from deceivers.
Verse 4-5
I love how humble the psalmist is:
Verse 4: he is receptive to being taught the…

Psalm 24
Verse 1: God explains He created and owns everything we can see, smell, speak, touch, and hear.
Verse 2: He establishes His authority, then in verses 3-6, He tells us the characteristics of who may come to him.
This psalm is before Jesus Christ came in the flesh. He died for us, so we need not be perfect before we seek and worship Him.
Verses 7 & 9 say exactly the same thing: to open ancient…

Jesus used part of this psalm when He was on the cross. He is not afraid to speak what he feels.

At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”
  Mark 15:34 (NLT)
Then at three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my…
