Hi, I was wondering if you’re going to continue with Bell? I love it so much. Sorry if this is rude to ask but wanted to know if I’m hoping for something that isn’t gonna happen is all. You’re an amazing author !

Hi! I’m very sorry to say that I’m not sure. I still have a lot of ideas and things I want to write about in the Twilight universe, but my inspiration for Bell has kind of vanished. I’ve tried to sit down and write for it, but it’s not the same quality as the other chapters and I don’t want to give my readers half-assed content.

I’m sure I’ll post more Twilight content in the future.

Recombinant Miles Quaritch character appreciation/moments that are overlooked:

The way he always got down on his knees to be eye level with Spider whenever they had a conversation.

The way he respected Spider’s choice to be called that instead of “Miles”. 

His expressions when Spider was being tortured by the scientists and the fact that he got them to stop despite the fact that they would have found Jake sooner if he hadn’t. 

Putting the entire mission (and his sole purpose) at risk by letting Spider join then even though he wouldn’t be of much help.

The subtle nervousness and hesitation when he talks to Spider alone for the first time and gives him Quaritch’s dog tags. 

The gentle way he handles Spider.

The fact that he made Spider feel comfortable enough to joke around and make fun of the other Recoms. 

The way he patiently listened to everything Spider had to say and gave him his undivided attention.

The disappointed look on both Miles and Spider’s faces when Lyle told them that they found where the Sullys might be. (They spent months together, bonding.)

The way Miles looked at Spider when he was begging them to spare the Ta’unui and didn’t kill anyone even though it would’ve gotten Jake to retaliate. 

The way he tried to keep Spider safe and away from the fight even though their relationship became strained by Miles’ mission.

The fact that Miles chose Spider’s life over his mission — the reason of his creation — when Neytiri threatened to kill him. 

The way he looked at Spider when he saved him. 

Miles calling Spider “son” when he asked him to leave together and his reaction when Spider rejected him.

More thoughts on this.

Sure, they weren’t his official family, none of them were— which makes it all the more heartbreaking.

But he loved them either way, thought the world of them. He wanted to be like them for god’s sake. Spider’s just a kid that wants to belong. I understand Neytiri’s dislike of humans for all the pain and suffering they’ve caused her people, but Spider is not guilty of his father’s sins.

(Nor is Recombinant Miles, but that’s something that will be explored in the next film.)

Call him the neighbor’s kid, a stray cat or whatever, but the Sully kids love him like their own. Again, I understand the threat of the RDA and that they couldn’t outright go after them, but they didn’t even try at any point. None of them did.

“He’s a tough kid.” Spider was literally being tortured, his brain liquefying inside his skull, and still didn’t give them anything on the family or the clan.

He spent months with the Recoms, teaching them to See. They treated him fairly, not like a prisoner, and he had time to bond with the closest person he has to a father. Yes, Recom Miles eventually followed his orders and brought more suffering to the People, but he chose his son over victory.

Spider’s a good kid that doesn’t want anyone to get hurt, specially the people he’s grown to care for. Maybe he felt indebted, maybe he grew to love Recom Miles. Either answer is completely understandable. Still, he chose to go back to the Sully’s. Viewers are angry because they’re watching from an outside point of view, but this kid lived through a lot during those months. I can’t even begin to imagine the guilt that haunts him for saving Recom Miles and not telling anyone.

The kid deserves hug.

I don’t understand why people hate Spider so much. What he did was entirely justified.

His adoptive family (with the exceptions of Kiri and Lo’ak) not only treated him like an outsider, but he was referred to as a stray cat. A pet. Neytiri purposely left him behind with the enemy without knowing (or caring) if he would be killed or tortured.

When Quaritch (while a clone, he has his real father’s memories) shows him respect and affection, Spider was obviously going to feel more comfortable with him and the squad. They’re technically the same species! Plus Quaritch saved Spider, multiple times, and chose him over an easy win (having Kiri as a hostage to force Jake to surrender). Neytiri was going to kill him.

Spider owed Quaritch.

That’s the reason why he saves Quaritch at the end, he owed him. I thought that was clear when Spider looks conflicted and literally yells “fuck!” before going to save him.

It’s only at the end of the movie that Jake accepts Spider as a real son and, honestly, it’s because Neteyam died. “A son for a son.”

Spider Socorro’s actions were realistic and justified.

The situation is messy, but everyone involved has their valid reasons and that’s what makes this a great movie.

God I love when antagonists get the shit beat out of them by character development.

They confirmed that Na’vi Quaritch will be going through some self reflecting and character development in the next movie and I already know it’s going to break me.

Him understanding that he’s just an asset for the RDA that they’ll get rid of once they realize he’s useless?

Struggling with his identity and accepting that he is his own person and not that hateful human colonel that went down fighting for a terrible cause?
