I'm not the only person who's had the misfortune of seeing discourse claiming that Wendy is Zionist Propaganda, right? Like, I get keeping a critical eye on stuff Paramount makes 'cuz of that one pro-Israel statement they released a while back, but... Wade's family is *Jewish,* not *Israeli.* I can't say I'm not a bit worried that people are unable or unwilling to tell the difference...

From what i can tell– and, again, I'm goy, take my opinion with a grain of salt– there is literally only one (1) line that's a little sketch. All the rest of it is literally just the family... being Jewish and existing as Jewish people. The only line that was a lil yikes was when they mention that the mom used to be a "krav maga" instructor, specifically mentioning it's an Israeli martial art– whether it was for the IOF or regular self-defense training isn't stated. That was a little concerning, but me and the server did look it up and the show was written in 2022 and filmed in April 2023, so it wasn't a line added in response to, er, current events or anything. Maybe in poor taste but probably not added maliciously. Keeping the line in the scene with current events in mind was a shitty thing to do, definitely, though, not gonna deny that.

But the lines that I'm specifically seeing people bitch about are... the ones about Jewish people having suffered in the past? Which. Yeah guys. They have. A lot. They're not talking about Palestine they're talking about, like, the one shit billion times the Jewish people have been displaced, oppressed, etc. In a few minutes they're talking about the forty-year-time-out in the desert after Moses's fuckup. A good chunk of Jewish holidays can be boiled down to "they tried to kill us, we survived, let's eat." Saying "Jewish people suffered in the past" is not zionist propaganda, it's. literally true.

Adam Pally is actually Jewish, and probably either requested the character details or it was added with him as an inspo. I think people are just on edge cause Paramount has showed support for Isr-el in the past. We just got news a few hours ago that the CEO of Paramount just got kicked, though, so maybe we have hope for a change?

Sad Headcanon Time!

Sonic doesn't like being around Gemerl.

It's nothing Gemerl did, really. Sonic's remarkably good at forgiving people that tried to kill him. Their eight or so fights over the course of the First Shattered World Crisis aren't really anything to hold grudges over.

But that's his kid. Except not. He found that robot on a beach and raised them himself. And then they died in his arms, asking him whether they should be glad that they were born. Whether their life was something to regret.

On some level, he knows that Gemerl doesn't have anything in them that's Emerl. Emerl's body crumbled to ash in his hands, and Eggman built copies of the design before. Gemerl is obviously just a refined version of the E-121 designs. But they're still painted in Eggman's colour scheme, they still have Eggman's mockery of Emerl's name. He visits Cream and sees this shadow of what he once loved, more robotic than Emerl ever was. It doesn't bother Cream. Why does it bother him so much?

(He still has the Emerald that was all that remained of Emerl. If he convinced Tails to install it in Gemerl's chassis, would it bring Emerl back? Is that even a good idea?)

So he stays away whenever he can.

Sage asks him to look after her 'father' when she goes. The angry, vicious, vindictive part of him, the part that only ever came out he was Darkspine Sonic, wants to spit back that Eggman offered only further torment when he killed Sonic's kid, why does he deserve anything besides scorn? He stomps it down. It won't help anyone if he lets it out.

(Sage comes back, of course. Like she never left, Eggman pushes a few buttons and he gets her back. Of course he gets the get-out clause. Gaias forbid Eggman experience consequences.)

I’m so sick of seeing videos and posts of a bunch of privileged college students who decided to make a geopolitical conflict their whole personality and who view college as a LARPing opportunity instead of fucking school. You just know they wouldn’t be screaming about this if they had any actual hobbies or any ideology besides what’s popular online and what pisses off their parents. It’s all about a radikewl aesthetic while affecting absolutely nothing in the real world. And now with Columbia University’s rabbi urging Jewish students to stay away from campus because it’s unsafe, what the fuck have these LARPers done other than harass Jews off campus instead of going to class in their “Gaza solidarity encampment” (AKA their excuse to skip class and not do assignments)? People in Gaza are still hungry and displaced, Hamas still has hostages, but don’t worry, guys! Students at Columbia are being antisemitic by praising 10/7 and cosplaying anarchy instead of going to class “for Palestine”!

They’re just insufferable, and their First Amendment rights don’t exempt them from the rest of us judging them for their actions

I drew the first iteration of this in January 2022. At the time, this blog mainly posted joke content and I did all the lineart in MS Paint with a mouse. I

The first remake was drawn in November 2022, a little under a year later. At this point I'd learned how to use Krita, but was still using a mouse. I would until like four months ago lol.

I honestly and truly believe all good AUs should be a little “”””ooc”””” in the sense that good characterisation involves understanding that changes a characters backstory and circumstances will have an effect on how they respond to the world around them

Good characterisation isn’t about creating a perfect 1:1 canon replica it’s about understanding why a character is different in your work and about grounding the changes you do deliberately choose to make in canon character traits

Does anyone here feel like explaining this "no note bungus" thing?

So...

There's this post by @itwashotwestayedinthewater from the 13th of August 2016 that just says "bungus" followed by a reblog by the same user saying "welcome to 'no note bungus'. reblog and you will feel a sense of accomplishment and goodwill wash over you". No matter how many people replied to it, reblogged it or liked it, none of those replies, reblogs or likes would appear on the post's notes, not even the OP's reblog where they added the second part of the post.

It became even weirder in the last couple of days, when some likes actually started appearing on the notes and the note counted became a number other than zero for the first time in almost eight years. Those likes are also very strange by themselves: the users appearing in the list of likes to the No Note Bungus post also change depending on where you're reading the post.

And something even crazier is that, on the 20th of September 2022, one reblog had appeared on the notes, been screen-capped, and then disappeared again.

I know some people here know about websites and other internet & computer science stuff, and they might be able to provide at least some possible answers to why such a thing as the No Note Bungus post even exists. A few of them already explained successfully other bizarre Tumblr phenomena, like a bunch of posts with special letter fonts and text effects that became famous for losing their absolute s*** when someone tried to read them on Tumblr's mobile app. If anyone with actual technical knowledge of how Tumblr works reads this, please come out and enlighten us, so we can go to sleep with the peace of mind of knowing that this mystery is solved and isn't gonna haunt our dreams or something.

#but it has the spirit still. RoL lets you explore these old places yourself and see everything that remains in them

#it gives you material to work with and lets you fill in the blanks

#it draws attention to these things and shows them to you and tells you hey! people were here once!

#frontiers gives you structures but a funny pyramid isn't really enough on its own

#it's all just weird buildings and structures and not much else. it's strange but simultaneously not enough to make you think

#RoL gives you old machines and vast chambers filled with technology and dig sites

#and those all have personality to them and they feel like something

#frontiers's structures rarely feel like anything even if you know they're supposed to

#they're neat but not much beyond that

#and the combat is. fine. but it's no unleashed. and there's a reason people mod it all the time

#frontiers has the building blocks for a game that combines several things i love but the execution falls short unfortunately and it pains me

in a perfect world frontiers would've leaned more heavily onto the elements of exploration and combat, taking the wonder rise of lyric wanted to create with the way it places the player into ancient ruins and abandoned facilities to learn more about them, and replicating the love that went into unleashed's werehog gameplay that gave us a fleshed out combo system and a competent beat-em-up. alas sega is a coward, and in this essay i will -
