For those who don't know, Rafah Crossing is closed. Meaning Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are technically not allowed to go into Egypt through Rafah Crossing (with exceptions, like holding a foreign passport) so in order to evacuate, Palestinians need to bribe Egyptian border security officials. The standard price used to be about $5000 - 7000 per person but some Palestinians have been told to pay $10,000 per person just to cross the border, forget other expenses like food and boarding.
For a group of people who are enduring genocide and the complete destruction of their homes that money is impossible to raise without the help of fundraising. That and the collapse of the UNRWA is the reason you're seeing so many Gofundmes nowadays. The entire aid system is gone with the exception of local aid organisations that have limited reach.
So if you see a credible fundraiser, please at the very least share it so it can reach more people. This list by @el-shab-hussein is a good place to start.

I have to give absolute props for both Milly Alcock and Emily Carey for the way they portray Rhaenyra and Alicent, and not just for the chemistry and romantic they gave to the characters. There's so many little things that get me obsessed with them.
For Rhaenyra, I remember Emma d'Arcy mentionned in an interview they wanted to gave a "non-binary streak" to Rhaenyra. And I think Milly understood the assignement so well for this exact thing. It's the way most of the things we see her enjoy from her character in the pilot are "boyish" things (riding Syrax, being a knight), but also the way she doesn't feel scorn towards the more "feminine" role of her mother either. When talking with Aemma, she's mostly worried with her well-being, worried for how much toll she gets from the pregnancy, while not being disgusted by it. You could tell she is used to see her mother in this state, watching her endure miscarriages after miscarriages, and this is what she despises for her mother, the life of "royal womb", being the property of the king, or of a noble spouse at least. And it's abundantly clear in the way Milly plays her.
As for Alicent, Emily really went ALL OUT in the details of her character. The finger biting to the point of bleeding, her very visible awkwardness with Viserys, her way of keeping it together at the tourney, after seeing her bother fall down brutally and getting hurt, after learning her best friend's mother death. On the subject, we don't learn much about it, but you can tell it's something that touched her a lot, that shaped her, probably shaped her anxiety, her self-restraint. You can also tell how much "free" she feels with Rhaenyra, despite how much of a follower she grew to be, and in contrast how trapped she feels with her father, with Viserys. An absolutely fascinating character to me, and we only have just seen the surface.
Overall, they made a TREMENDOUS job with casting. It's definitely not easy to cast what are basically historical characters in a fantasy setting, but they nailed it.

â weâll be okay.
â yeah. you already are.Â
so... i saw a maximoff twins edit to glimpse of us by joji and just thought about wanda getting deja vu whenever she looks at her twins, especially because tommy looks so much like pietro that it makes her whole being acheÂ
(and itâs worse because her powers wouldnât even let her die in dsmom, which means sheâs got a long way to go before ever seeing them again, so westview or her dreams are the closest she can get to being reunited with them)Â
((and whoâs to say sheâll be in the good place with the rest of her family when she dies?))Â
show this some love on twitter too! https://twitter.com/izziedoodledoo/status/1548752793304829952?s=20&t=YbJPO_1vu2GpnmbvQAHlEw

so many westerners giving heartless, uninformed, and unsolicited opinions on afghanistan while ignoring the following:
the US government covertly provided schoolbooks for children that promoted militant and incorrect Islamic teachings and included images of weapons and soldiers in an effort to encourage a hatred of foreign invaders (i.e. the Soviets and evil communism) in children
âThe school books, which were filled with talk of jihad and featured drawings of guns, bullets, soldiers and mines, have served since then as the Afghan school system's core curriculum. Even the Taliban used the American-produced books.â
excerpt from the book, titled âthe alphabet of jihadâ -> âAll the Russians and infidels are our enemy. No one can invade our country. Only Muslim Afghans can rule over this country.â
the US financially supported the Taliban between 1994-1996 because Washington viewed the Taliban as anti-Iranian, anti-Shia and potentially pro-Western
Washington wanted Taliban support for the development of a US-based oil company Unocal - and so they stayed silent when the Taliban captured Herat in 1995, and expelled thousands of girls from schools (Rashid, 2000)
killed over 47,000 civilians
US forces massacred civilians deliberately on multiple occasions, such as the Kandahar massacre, where most of the victims were women and children civilians
routinely executed unarmed civilians by UK forces
targeting of hospitals in air strikes and bomb raids, such as this hospital in Kunduz
heavy usage of white phosphorus in civilian areas
killed afghan civilians âfor sportâ, multilated the bodies, posed with the bodies for pictures, and collected pieces for trophies
think before you speak.

nothing surpasses the comedy of the entire aftermath of the emma (2020) ball scene. NOTHING. knightley running after emma. frank churchill red-faced and sweating from carrying harriet. âon account of the scissors.â frank wheeling harriet around in his arms like heâs training for the shotput event in track & field. knightleyâs face when he realizes how close he is to harrietâs face and to emma and heâs like âYIKES abort abort.â knightley failing miserably to come up with a reason for being at emmaâs house other than sexual frustration and pining. harriet moaning suggestively enough to visibly startle knightley. knightley going through the five stages of grief when emma asks for frank to stay. and to top it all off, bill nighy hop-running in like some sort of meerkat to exclaim âis she dEAd?!â
not to mention that none of them have slept because it was definitely the morning hours when the ball ended, so these idiots definitely just pulled an all-nighter and are basically using one brain cell at this point? truly peak cinema. no i will not accept criticism.

I read this hc that Tony has a British accent because he was practically raised by Jarvis and Peggy, and I couldnât help but imagineâŠ
None of the other Avengers really questions why Tony suddenly develops a British accent when heâs tired. Tony has always been eccentric at best, and when heâs tired heâs just Plain Weirdâą. Like the time he asked Clint to balance a tennis ball on his nose, pouted a little when Clint refused, and then pouted even more when Clint tried and failed. So, yeah, they think itâs weird that when Tony starts faking an accent when heâs tired, but heâs done weirder, so itâs not a big deal.
But then Spidey is injured (nothing too bad, but Tony doesnât care about details like that) while doing something heroic and Tony flips out. âWhat the hell were you thinking, you couldâve been killed! If you do something like that one more time Iâll have a bloody aneurysm!â
And everyone justâŠstares at him. Because Tony slept last night, didnât he? And Tony sees Peterâs wide eyes and then looks around at everyone else and says, âWhat are you looking at? What did I do?â (American accent again). And heâs genuinely confused.
And so they finally have to ask. âTony, why do you sometimes have a British accent?â Bruce says. And Tony is a bit surprised, because heâd never realized that the Avengers mightâve noticed that, and that they didnât ever ask. But he explains anyway.
When Howard, a negligent/abusive dad, realized his son has a different accent than him and his wife, he was furious, because thatâs âun-Americanâ and âgives people the wrong idea,â and was therefore bad for PR. Tony was forced by Howard (either directly or indirectly in that Maria, Jarvis, and Peggy were trying to protect Tony from him) to work with a dialect coach to âfixâ or at least hide his British accent.
So every time Tony uses an American accent, thatâs a conscious effort. But when heâs sleep-deprived, he doesnât have the energy nor the patience to hide his accent (this may be the reason he still has it, as opposed to having lost it after a lifetime of living in the US and consciously trying to hide it).
And everyone is appalled by this, as they should be, since it shows how absent his parents really were, and that, contrary to popular belief, Tony really does think before he speaks.
They also realize that this means Peggy (because it couldnât have been Jarvis) frequently made threats of aneurysm when Tony was being dumb.

Generally, Iâm not the person to talk about politics but today something happened in my country. Thereâre mass protests all over Russia, all because of our president having a fucking palace thanks to stolen money and arresting the person who found it out and shared with people (Aleksey Navalny) who happens to be the leader of opposition and who was almost killed with chemical weapon a few months ago.
The police have arrested more than 1000 people today including a 10 year old child. We have no one to rely on, no one to ask for help. Putin has been on the throne for about 20 years and now he has a possibility to continue ruling Russia due to constitutional amendments that were approved in 2020.
I can do nothing but ask you to spread this information, so that people know we need help. We donât want the dictator to rule our country anymore, weâre sick and tired.
