I'm actually kind of surprised by the fact that I've never met a Texan that has mentioned how many flowers they have. I drove through 750 miles of Texas and there were flowers just everywhere. I only stopped to take pictures of them in Sonora, but they were literally everywhere along every road I drove on.
Around the Neighborhood was a little project I made for myself last summer to help me go outside. I would walk around my neighborhood and take photos of flowers and plants in my neighbors' yards. I really liked having a task to do, and looked forward to my walks and finding new flowers. I was originally intending to post Around the Neighborhood at the end of the summer last year when the flowers all went into hibernation or died, but I kind of just lost the spoons (because I too hibernate in the winter) to bother posting all these photos after that. Now that it's getting back into summertime, my spoons are back and I wanted to post the results of my effort to lessen my agoraphobia. I'm not sure if I'll do a continuation of Around the Neighborhood for 2024, but who knows!
Once again, the Caverns of Sonora are just on a different level of beautiful. It looks like a magical underwater cave. Like if I was mermaid, I'd want to live here.
