“The black-haired rider snaps his gaze to mine, turning fully toward me, and my heart thunders for all the wrong reasons.

A rebellion relic, curving in dips and swirls, starts at his bare left wrist, then disappears under his black uniform to appear again at his collar, where it stretches and swirls up his neck, stopping at his jawline. “Oh shit,” I whisper, and his eyes narrow, as if he can hear me over the howl of wind that rips at my secured braid. “Sorrengail?” He steps toward me, and I look up…and up. Good gods, I don’t even reach his collarbone. He’s massive. He has to be more than four inches over six feet tall.”

I couldn’t help but ask @bethgilbert_art to craft me this masterpiece after seeing all her gorgeous renditions of them and damn if she didn’t render me speechless as usual!

And will hopefully be available on my etsy very soon with a few more amazing designs as I have been approved for licensing😁✨

Tairn being the best character in Fourth Wing:

"pronunciation could use some work"

Y’all I was rereading Fourth Wing as one does, and I found something that’s making my heart sing.

Spoilers below

Okay so during their first kiss I noticed something

Xaden teaches Violet how to ground herself from Tairn. Basically telling her to create a place in her mind where she can shut the door on Tairn.

But then the kiss happens and I’m pretty sure that Xaden loses control over his grounding and pushes his feelings through to Violet. And this is before she knows that she has this link with him.

It starts off with “the kiss consumes me-

See what I mean?! He has to squeeze his eyes shut to ground himself from blasting his feelings at Violet. This man cannot contain himself.

Xaden even tells her that “this isn’t her want.” It’s actually all Xaden’s want. And he knows she doesn’t really reciprocate his feelings yet and there’s so much other stuff in the way.

Plus after Violet storms off, she realizes that the door to Tairn isnt throwing off all the power and lust anymore. She of course doesn’t know that she has that bond yet with Xaden and blames it on Tairn.

But y’all come on. Xaden had it so bad for her he lost control.

I had this book for a while, and when I finally decided to read it, I devoured it. Fourth Wing is probably one of my all time favorite books. The characters, the storyline, the everything! It’s actually one of the only other books where I’ve related to a character so much aside from when I read the House of Night series. I love to cosplay and experiment with characters, but I don’t always feel like I relate to the characters I’m portraying. Violet Sorrengail is the only other character I think I’ve ever related so much too aside from Zoey Redbird. From giving friends your own answers to say in class, to changing expectations/being underestimated, to scaring your friends (and yes, my friends tell me I scare them heehee), to being compared to your sister by others, and so much more. I think Violet is such an inspiring character, and I cannot wait to read Iron Flame when it comes out in November!

This is the quote that I used on my first House of Night post here on Instagram (not my first HoN cosplay because I loved drawing the marks on before I ever posted). It’s crazy how many years have passed since joining an amazing community I didn’t even know existed.

This quote means a lot to me because I know my greatest enemy is the doubts I have of myself, and I know many of us feel that way. I am so thankful to the people who lift me up and support me no matter what. Many of those people are from the House of Night community, and I feel like that just goes to show how amazing this series, authors, and community are! I hope House of Night gets picked up soon, so even more people around the world can experience the love and magick it has to offer!

How It Started x How It’s Going

Merry Meet!

I started cosplaying Zoey Redbird from the House of Night series back when the tv show got announced in October of 2019. I never knew how it would change my life. Since I started, I have a found my community and a sense of belonging. I’ve made friends I never would have met and I’ve reconnected with one of my true passions: acting.

I’ll be sharing more photos and links to scenes I’ve done with friends, as well as maybe my tiktoks? I’ve been off of tumblr for a few years, so I need to figure everything out again.
