We're here to decide who the best book siblings are

We all know the drill by now, but just to be clear, here are the rules:

They can be two or more siblings

Adopted siblings are allowed (of course), but they have to be actual siblings, not childhood best friends who say they're like siblings to each other, or anything like that (eg Kell and Rhy from A Darker Shade of Magic are eligible, but not Kaz and Jesper from Six of Crows, even though Kaz calls Jesper by his brother's name at some point)

You can submit as many siblings as you want, but only once for each!

By "best", I don't mean the ones who work best together or the ones who get along the best, they can be an absolute mess if you want, this is just a popularity contest

I tend to have a pretty good tolerance for rude things in the tags, so I might not realize if people are being actively harmful: if you see anyone being awful in the tags, please send me an ask or a DM and I'll block them

GOD OKAY. Rant brought to you by my 11 year old Doctor Who fan self who wrote a fic where River Song got got by the Daleks so I could get rid of her The Doctor? Cool as hell. We love to see them. Kicking ass, exploring space and time, hanging out with cool people since 1963 River Song is so so so deeply annoying. sWEtiE Steven M*fft is a son of a bitch who wanted to make a super special girlboss character better than RTD. We have multiple special girlboss companions and other side characters both from Classic Who and New Who and River Song coming in and acting like she's the only one who can tease the Doctor and flies the TARDIS "right" and knows more than everyone is exhausting It's giving misogynist undertones tbh, like Steven wanted to be so progressive but went too far to the left and made River Song a caricature The Doctor has had some good ships in the past and will in the future, but Doctor River is not one of them!

Tolerable but annoying in the original show because she only appeared in a single episode. And it went over my head that bens future kids mom was implied to be her in the original show. But in omniverse? Terrible. It burned down ALL my crops and set me on fire too. Not even cause I think she gets in the way of a ship I like better, her and Ben together are just terrible for each other. They clearly don’t like each other, they don’t want to spend time together, and it really feels like they were just forcing them together because that’s what they set up already with the future timeline episodes. COMPLETELY IGNORING THE FACT THAT CANONICALLY THERE ARE COUNTLESS BRANCHING TIMELINES. INCLUDING ONES WHERE THEY DONT GET TOGETHER. But noooo, we need to shove him into a hateful heterosexual relationship… he’s our protagonist boy, we can’t just not put him with someone! I think kai is cool on her own. But everytime her and Ben are onscreen together it makes me wanna turn off the tv. Very cool of her to wield Excalibur! Not cool when she got reduced to just bens love interest. Both of these characters are great separately, but together it’s just not fun. They don’t bicker like ‘an old married couple’ they just fight like two people who don’t like each other and don’t want to change that. Sorry for the rant, I just. Reeeaaaalllyy think that this was one omniverse’s worst decisions. And MAN, THEY HAD SOME BAD ONES.

i know, but they're all "Batman". i put atla and lok in the same poll. if they're from the same "parent franchise", they go together. all the marvel stuff is together (or split into like two polls), the disney ones (snow white/prince charming and cinderella/other prince charming) are together. it's easier this was and also it's my poll so i can and will do as i please.

Believe it or not, I actually used to like this ship!!! Their first go around at a relationship was fine! Not amazing and it had issues but it had its cute moments! But there was the retconning. Oh, was there retconning. They had to age Barbara down just to make the relationship even possible, since she was in Congress when Dick was still a teenager. And then it got worse. Suddenly Barbara was Dick’s first crush/love. Suddenly all of his other relationships were explicitly inferior and his awesome longterm ex is being villified and shit talked and dismissed as a fling in-text. They broke up and stayed broken up for over a decade. Then suddenly Barbara had use of her legs back and was out of her wheelchair, and it was like every character spent a few years going “oh those two belong together!!” Without any of the stories ever demonstrating WHY. Then they suddenly got back together (after having Dick break up with yet another cool love interest!!!!) and immediately became characters I did not and do not recognize. Babs became a girlboss (derogatory) and Dick became a himbo (derogatory) and I hate it so so so so much it makes me so angry I can’t even keep talking about this I need to go before I explode

I swear this ship only enjoyed by Bruce Timm. Literally anytime this ship shows up anything you can bet most people are groaning and expressing their disgust in the comment section. Most versions of Barbara are a lot younger than Bruce. Like he’ll be Batman (a grown man), and she’ll be young enough to be playing with dolls. He’s also a close friend of her father’s so it super weird of him to take the opportunity to fuck on her with that dynamic and the age gap. She also is sometimes in a relationship with his son. Why would you be in a love triangle with this girl who is way younger than you and your own damn child? It just so fucking weird and it grosses me out every time. He once wrote a story where she was having sex with both him and his son in the same time period, and she ended up pregnant with batman’s kid. It is always seems like Barbara is super clingy towards him which is super uncomfortable and then you’re why Bruce would even entertain this shit at all. Makes him weird as hell. This was probably fine in the very earliest iteration of Barbara as a character, but it will always be a stain on the DCAU and anything it appears in in modern times.

I hate this shit. Spike was better when he was a reoccurring character, who would guest star in a few episodes, be really funny and almost win and then get his ass kicked by Buffy. The 'got chipped' arc was fine, I guess but I think it was the downfall of Spike as a fun character. Plus, Spuffy started as untenable levels of toxic (to me). The 'Spike gets a soul' arc was when I just started loathing Spuffy. Spuffy has so many fans too, it's so popular but I liked Spike better before he had character growth! Spuffy fans fight me in a Denny's parking lot. I'm hiding in the dumpster and I'm ready.

Listen I absolutely love Cardcaptor Sakura BUT this ship is just so gross. Like I get it's supposed to symbolize innocence or whatever BUT SHES A FIFTH GRADER AND HES THE TEACHER. okay so in season 2 when ben was introduced he had a small crush on kat but she told him she's into someone else and that was that they were friends from that they on. then ben's crush was never mentioned again he actually fell head over heels in love with tara (kat's best friend). after some relationship drama here and there (cuz tara is the protagonist) they broke up and yeah. so season 3 happens and it looks like ben and grace are about to get into a relationship grace says sth about not wanting to lose ben and so she needs to change as a person before anything can happen between them. then there's dance academy the comback. a movie. set a few years after season 3. no grace. there's some ben/tara chemistry again but she ends up with another guy who she's been into for all three seasons already. but whatever. at the end of the movie ben is in the hospital and kat visits him and they flirt a bit and then they hold hands and you're just like????? where does this come from???? this is totally out of the blue!!! like it was so obvious that they only did that to have another couple in the movie. but honestly they have no romantic chemistry like yes they're friends but that's it they don't fit together at all like can you feel my pain like this is so random and a lot of fans agree like this just seems forced like for real what do some movie directors think😭😭
