I’m only doing 10 of these, so be sure to send them in! You all know how much I love angst.
prompt list #2
“I’m just trying to help.” “Well, I hate to break it to you, but you just made it worse.”
“Don’t I make you happy?”
“You’re going to get someone hurt.”
“I never thought you’d be the one to break my heart.”
“Don’t underestimate me.”
“You’re a complete mess, but I don’t care.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Did I just see you smile?”
“You’re dumber than I thought if you think I’m letting you do this alone.”
“If I could go back in time, I’d still choose you.”
“So… I might’ve been a little drunk.” “Only a little?”
“I honestly have no idea what I’m doing.”
“I can’t believe we’re dating.”
“Please don’t tell me you filmed that.” “Of course I filmed it.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“I meant what I said, every word of it.”
“I can’t stay mad at you, and that pisses me off.”
“Why didn’t you tell me this earlier?”
“I knew you’d overreact.”
“I specifically told you not to leave.”
“You’re not as heartless as you pretend to be.”
“Stop hogging the blankets!”
“I’m not in the mood.”
“I know it’s the middle of the night, but can you come over, please?”
“You know I love you, right?”
“How did you find me?”
“That was a really shitty apology.”
“Not to be dramatic, but I think we’re all going to die.”
“I should’ve fought for us.”
“I love you, okay? I’ll say it as many times as you need to hear it.”
“Everyone wanted to give up on me, except you.”
“We have to leave the country.”
“Are you seriously still angry at me?” “You ate the last donut!”
“Come to bed.”
“Don’t touch me.”
“Just forget everything I said.”
“Seeing you smile makes my day.”
“You mean the world to me.”
“Oh no, you are not dragging me into this.”
“I know you’re trying to push me away, but I won’t let you.”
“The only person I need right now is you.”
“You look really good, by the way.”
“You realise this sounds totally crazy, right?”
“What’s my problem? You’re my fucking problem!”
“You make me a better person.”
“Don’t give me that look.”
“Okay, but consider this: I don’t care.”
“Oh, thank God you’re awake.”
“That’s an order.”
“Promise me you’ll come back.”
“You had another nightmare, didn’t you?”
“We have to look out for each other.”
“You’re going to get yourself killed!”
“Just stay away from me, okay?”
“No one can know about this.”
“The only place I feel safe in is your arms.”
“We’re done.”
“Don’t get used to it.”
“Do you ever regret it?”
“At this point, you’re the only thing keeping me sane.”
“I love it when you laugh.”
“If we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it together.”
“We’ll make it work.”
“Do you ever think about running away?”
“I can’t lose you.”
“You deserve someone better than me.”
“Come here, I want to show you something.”
“You’ve got to be more careful.”
“You’re actually pretty cute.”
“I’m so tired of feeling like this.”
“What did I do wrong?”
“Why does everything always turn to shit?”
“You shouldn’t have done that.”
“I’m a monster.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Can I freak out now?”
“What did you expect? For everything to just go back to normal?”
“I just needed to hear your voice.”
“What I’m about to do is totally crazy, but just roll with it.”
“I know you don’t care, you don’t have to pretend.”
“You owe me.”
“Of course I was worried about you.”
“How much time do we have left?”
“You look different.”
“How could you even think that?”
“Let me out of here!”
“That’s a good picture of you.”
“Give ‘em hell.”
“Get out of my way.”
“You want to know what I really think?”
“It’s about time.”
“You can’t keep ignoring this.”
“I hope you burn in hell.”
“I could think of worse ways to die.”
“Too late.”
“Can we start over again?”
“How do you always manage to look so perfect?”
“I didn’t know you could do that.”
“Run.”
“You love me?” “Of course I do, you dork.”

damn, this got long. nonetheless, i hope i wrote something that you guys like.
*not proofread*
_________________
You and Jungkook hadn’t dated long enough for you to have been there at the beginning of his quiet, nouvelle idol days. But even through his wild and loud global superstar days, you stood by his side as his lover, best friend, and number one supporter.
With Jungkook and the group’s big jump in fame, you watched not just Jungkook but all of the members go through different changes whether it was emotional or physical. You watched the youngest members evolve into mature men as the eldest members only grew more wise with age.
It was like watching a flower grow from a seed and blossom into a bright, strong work of art.
There were some changes, though, that just came with the job and their stature in Korean society and the greater world. The two of you moved from a small studio in a questionable neighborhood to the penthouse suite in one of the most exclusive areas in Seoul.
You didn’t mind it, of course, and was instead happy to see Jungkook become financially independent and make large expenditures all on his own. He went from taking the bus everywhere to picking you up from work in an Audi. Again, you were happy to see him finally be able to buy the things that he had his heart set on since he was a teenager.
You went from going on trips within Korea to flying first class internationally and staying in Five-Star hotels.
It was a complete switch around.
Jungkook spent more and more time away from home, but you did your duties as his girlfriend and made sure to cook, clean, and maintain the apartment while he was gone.
Days and days would pass where you would maintain the same routine, but once you were done, you felt like an intruder. Even sitting on the couch didn’t seem right. These were items you essentially shared with Jungkook, but everything in this apartment, besides the majority of your clothing, was purchased with his card and vast wealth. Nothing really felt yours.
While most mothers in Korea practically dreamt of marrying their kids to someone who was wealthy and held a stable job, your mother was different. She instilled a work ethic in you since you were little and always taught you to make your own money, not marry for it. She raised you to be financially independent.
It was one of the values that made you into the person you grew up to be.
With every increase in pay, Jungkook would buy you little things. When his paycheck was still small, he would buy you meals or splurge to buy you something that couldn’t be eaten on special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays. But now that the money was seemingly endless, no special occasion was needed. He would order flowers to your job or come home with diamond earrings and necklaces.
You, of course, never asked Jungkook for anything and instead saved up to buy it for yourself like your mom had raised you to, but as the gifts kept coming, you grew more and more uncomfortable. It was a feeling you couldn’t describe.
Your friends became jealous of you and would always make a fuss every time he bought you something, but you just felt uncomfortable. You never said anything, though, because he looked so happy to give you these things. Plus, how would you even explain how you felt?
On this particular night, you were just finishing up work. You had a small job as a receptionist for a law firm, and even though your job description didn’t include any hard work, the quantity caused you to stay later than the lawyers who actually had demanding jobs.
Whenever Jungkook was in Korea and had time, he would always come pick you up. You always insisted on taking the bus to not cause him a lot of trouble, but if Jungkook was anything, he was stubborn.
Your heels clicked against the concrete as you walked through the empty parking garage to where Jungkook always parked and waited for you. Sitting in the newest black Audi, Jungkook scrolled through his phone until his head shot up, freshly died black hair rubbing against his forehead. He smiled as you opened the passenger seat and got in the car, placing your purse neatly on your lap.
“These late nights must have you so tired,” he said with a small smile as he started the car and began to drive out of the parking garage. You let out an exhausting sigh. “They’re not too bad, but too many in a row can tire me out,” you said.
As he pulled to a stop at a right light, he looked over at you to hold your hand, but he furrowed his brows. Today was a light day for him, so his exhaustion wasn’t clouding the glaringly obvious. You were sitting in such a..weird way. Your petite frame sat in the large seat, but it was like you were trying to make yourself small. Your arms were close to your body and your legs were touching as your feet sat close to the seat, rather than spread out like any tired employee. Your purse sat on your thighs and you were almost motionless. He would’ve at least expected you to rest your head on the window given how tired you were, but you sat almost statue-like.
“Are you okay?” he asked as his large hand grabbed yours and intertwined his fingers with yours, resting your hands on his thigh in a more comfortable position.
“Of course. Are you okay?” you asked with a smile as you turned to look at him, head titled slightly to the side. He shrugged it off and kissed your hand. “Of course,” he repeated with a smirk as he began driving once the light turned green.
The two of you discussed his day and activities the rest of the way home.
The two of you entered the apartment and you both began to slip out of your shoes. You quickly stepped out of your heels and put them in the shoe closet rather than line them up with Jungkook’s go-to shoes.
“Are you hungry?” he asked as you followed him into the kitchen. “Yeah,” you answered. “It’s not too late to order some food. You can pick anything,” he said as he turned to look at you, arm resting on the marble countertop.
You shook your head quickly. “That’s okay. I can just make ramen,” you said as you took out a small pot. “You can order if you want,” you mumbled, pouring water into the pot and turning on the electric stove.
He watched you, trying to figure out whether something was wrong or you were just tired.
“Can we watch some shows while we eat then?” he asks, cute little grin forming  on his lips as he watched you. You smiled and nodded. “But I wanna change first. These clothes get so uncomfortable after a while,” you whined playfully as you exited the kitchen ad began to move down the hall.
Looking down at his skinny jeans and dress shirt, he should probably change, too.
As you stripped out of your clothes and put them neatly into the hamper Jungkook usually just threw his clothes into, Jungkook couldn’t help but gaze at your body as he pulled his sweatpants on.
You entered the large walk in closet and Jungkook followed, eyeing your body with both curiosity and lust.
The closet was massive, and while Jungkook had a lot of clothes, he made sure to divide the closet evenly in half so you could have enough room to hang your clothes up. He frowned when he saw that you confined all your clothes to one small area that you kept extremely neat.
You grabbed a pair of shorts and a t shirt and put them on and quickly fixed a shirt that got messed up in the process. Maybe you were just a neat freak, Jungkook thought.
You turned to him with a smile.
“Why are you staring at me?” you asked. “Because you’re beautiful,” he said, moving close to you. You smirked. “Creep,” you teased softly as his lips hovered over you. His soft and plump lips pressed against yours as his large hands held onto your waist and pressed your body into his. You kissed back, lost in the moment, until you heard the water boiling in the kitchen.
Pulling away, you pecked his lips before holding his hand and dragging him down the hall. “Kissing you for hours is tempting, but this ramen is irresistible,” you joked. He laughed, high pitched noises flooding through your ears and warming your heart.
You carefully placed two sets of ramen into the pot and cooked it to perfection, cracking two eggs and adding fresh green onions.
The two of you sat down and began to eat, but as Jungkook chewed, he looked up and watched you. You sat the same way you did in the car, body compacted and legs close together as you ate in a very controlled manner.
He took note but continued eating. As soon as you were done, you washed all of the dishes and put them away before joining Jungkook on the couch. He put on a show the two of you occasionally watched together and wrapped his arm around your shoulder, trying to hold you close, but your body was stiff.
“Okay, what’s going on?” he said as he paused it, turning to look at you. Your eyebrows raised. “What? What’s going on?” you asked confused. “That’s what I’m trying to figure out,” he said as he blinked.
“You’ve been so weird, ever since I picked you up earlier. You just looked so uncomfortable on the drive home and you look so uncomfortable, even now,” Jungkook explained. “You don’t put your shoes next to mine. You don’t use the other half of the closet. I tried to hold you closer and you barely moved or reacted.”
You watched him as he explained, putting the pieces together.
He blinked and suddenly there were tears in his eyes, threatening to spill over.
“Is this some way of you trying to break up with me? Do you just not love me or want to be with me anymore?” he asked, voice several tones lower as he looked deep into your eyes, which widened immediately.
“What? No,” you said, shaking your head quickly.
“Then what is it?” he asked, voice raising a bit as his frustration grew.
“I can’t explain it,” you said, struggling to find the words to form sentences that would make sense to either of you.
“You can’t explain it?” he asked, standing up. “I’m losing you and you can’t explain it?” His voice was surely raised at this point as he looked at you with eyes of disbelief.
“I’m a leech!” you exclaimed, standing as your body just couldn’t handle sitting anymore. The anger left his face and it turned to confusion. “A leech?”
You nodded and let out a sigh, running a finger through your hair.
“None of this stuff feels like it’s mine. You buy everything. Sure, we both live here, but you don’t let me pay any of the bills. You always buy me expensive things, but I can never give you anything with a similar price tag,” you explained softly, eyes looking at his.
He opened his mouth to speak, but you kept going.
“I mean, what could I even buy you that you don’t already have? None of these things feel shared. This is your apartment. That is your closet. This is your couch. You picked me up in your car.” You kept rambling on, but it just made Jungkook even more confused.
“I don’t feel good enough for you anymore, Jungkook. I don’t feel good enough to sit in your million dollar apartment or eat your expensive take out. I’m proud of you,” you breathed, tears forming in your eyes. “God, I’m so proud of you and everything that you’ve become. But as you keep rising and becoming bigger and bigger, I am in the same spot. I’m a receptionist, for god’s sake. You’re an idol who travels around the world and has women gawking over you. I’m sure queens and kings would fight over who gets to marry their daughter off to you.”
“But I feel like a guest. I feel like your assistant. You show me love I’ve never experienced and you always love to take care of me, but I pride myself on being able to sustain myself, too. I can pay some of the bills. I may not be able to order from that expensive restaurant you love, but I can pay for takeout, too, sometimes. I can take the bus sometimes.”
“I don’t feel worthy of you,” you finished, tears streaming down your red cheeks. Jungkook watched you silently for a moment, trying to gather his thoughts.
“Y/N, I-” he started, but stopped, not really knowing what to say. But that’s the thing. Jungkook wasn't the best at formulating the best response in quick time. Feeling embarrassed, you felt like fleeing to the bathroom to just cry, but it was his expensive two-ply toilet paper you would be using to wipe your tears.
“I’m just gonna go on a walk,” you said in a whisper, turning and practically speed walking over to the door. Bending over, you slid your feet into a pair of sneakers you kept in the shoe closet and left, making your way to the first floor of the apartment.
Fuck. You didn’t even bother to grab a hoodie or pants.
As you silently cried to yourself, you walked over to a bench under a tree in the center of a neighborhood you could never afford to live in by yourself.
Meanwhile, an anxious Jungkook was on the phone with Namjoon, trying to get advice since he was at a loss for words. Namjoon further explained how you were probably feeling and understood it, telling Jungkook to listen to you and try to make you feel comfortable.
As soon as Namjoon hung up, the panic set in when Jungkook realized that you had been outside for at least ten minutes with short shorts and a t-shirt on. Running into the bedroom to grab a blanket, Jungkook practically tripped over himself.
He slid sneakers on and jogged down the stairs rather than wait for the elevator. Frantically, he looked around for you until spotting you on a bench. Jogging over to you, his heart clenched at hearing your sniffles. Kneeling in front of you, Jungkook wrapped the blanket around your shoulders and wrapped the rest around your body. Your eyes were trained on the floor as you couldn’t handle looking into his doe eyes.
His warm hands rested on your calves as he looked up at you.
“Besides the boys, you’re the one person in my life that has been a constant. Fame changes people and maybe it has changed me, but you’ve always been the same girl I fell head over heels for all those years ago,” he said softly.
“Not good enough for me?” he said in disbelief. “Y/N, you’re everything to me. Whenever I’m away from you, you’re the only thing I ever talk about. I kick myself every day I’m away from you because I know that I should be with you. Protecting you, loving you. The apartment is only like that because I only want the best for you, baby. I buy you things because you’re deserving of everything.”
“If you feel more comfortable, we can split costs and bills more. I didn’t take your feelings into consideration and went without really thinking. It’s our apartment, babe. It’s our couch and our closet. I’m sorry I didn’t make it feel that way.”
Your eyes moved from the ground and you looked at Jungkook, scanning his face. “I love you. With everything I have. Your job doesn’t change the way I see you. Your income doesn’t change my love for you. The richest girl could approach me and all I would do is just brag about you. The way you tolerate my childish pranks. The way you make sure I’ve had food and rested. The way you kiss me to shut me up,” he explained, hand moving to warm your exposed and cold cheek.
“Let’s make this our space,” he whispered, looking deep into your eyes. You sniffled and nodded as Jungkook wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into him. “I want to make you more comfortable.”
You nodded yet again, overcome with emotion.
Gently, he wrapped his arm around you and guided you back inside the apartment. Slowly, you kicked your shoes off and this time, left them next to Jungkook’s shoes.
As he held your cold body against his as you two slept later that night, he watched you, savoring every inch. You were his everything. You were priceless.
It was a slow process, but he watched as you slowly became more comfortable. The two of you completely renovated the apartment and bought less expensive furniture, but Jungkook could care less about the price of the furniture. There was nothing he loved more than seeing your proud smile as you paid for it with your hard-earned cash.
You and Jungkook split the bills, and even though it was a stretch for you, you would rather be borderline broke and take care of yourself rather than have more money and live off of Jungkook’s paychecks.

________________________
Grocery shopping was something you always wanted to do alone. Scratch that, it was something you needed to do alone. As Ha-joon grew each day, he would demand more food but also make much larger messes with it. At some points, you knew he wasn’t even hungry; all he wanted to do was make a mess with expensive groceries.
You assumed that you would require Namjoon’s assistance a lot more when Ha-joon was a lot smaller, but now that he was big enough to stand on his own and crawl insanely fast, you found it hard to keep up with the little human.
You had gotten better at balancing taking care of Ha-joon and doing your schoolwork for college, but there were times where something had to get sacrificed and you could never let it be Ha-joon.
To be a good girlfriend, you cooked your husband a lot of food. He would send texts and videos of the boys confiscating the food as Namjoon wasn’t the only one cooped up in the studio or practice room. This sent your heart into shambles. Yes, you wanted Namjoon to eat, but seeing the other boys so hungry made you realize no one is cooking food for them.
Cup noodle wasn’t cutting it.
You would set Ha-joon to nap and rush to the kitchen, making large batches of food and putting them in seven containers. You would even write them little notes of encouragement. You would drop them off once Ha-joon was awake. It was always a heartwarming sight to see the boys surround Ha-joon and play with him. Sometimes it would just be Namjoon, or it would only be Yoongi and Taehyung. Whoever wasn’t busy.
Tired and exhausted at the end of the night, you would finally go downstairs to find food for yourself, only to find out you had run out of food and had to eat ramen.
You figured that since Namjoon’s day off was the next day, you could go grocery shopping while he watched Ha-joon, but Namjoon insisted on coming to pick out snacks. So, as you pushed the cart with a bubbly and wide-eyed Ha-joon, you eyed your list and went down each aisle. Namjoon followed behind but grew a bit tired with going down any aisle that wasn’t the snack aisle.
“Hey, I’m just gonna go over to the snack aisle and get my stuff then come back,” Namjoon said to you as you were deep in thought. You looked up at him and nodded as you placed a few boxes of pasta into the cart.
Just as Namjoon turned to go, Ha-joon began whining and threw his pacifier down in an angry fit at being left behind. You looked down at Ha-joon with a gentle frown as you bent down to pick up the pacifier and drop it into your purse to be cleaned later.
“Do you wanna adventure with daddy?” Namjoon said in a slightly higher pitched voice as he bent his knees and gazed at his son. Ha-joon nodded, face satisfied, as he reached out to his dad. Namjoon lifted the little boy out of the seat and sat him on his shoulders. You watched the two and chuckled.
“Don’t cause any trouble,” you warned, looking mainly at Namjoon, who always seemed to lose his maturity when left alone with his son.
“We’ll try,” Namjoon said with a grin as he turned and left the aisle, Ha-joon looking around. Shaking your head, you continued down the aisle, crossing off each item after placing it into your cart.  Meanwhile, Namjoon explored more than the snack aisle and brought his son to the toy aisle, asking him to pick out toys as if Ha-joon didn’t have enough. The baby would point to things and look back at Namjoon expectantly. Namjoon’s large hands held onto the baby’s chunky little legs, so he couldn’t really grab the toys.
He would just have to wait and try to convince you.
You left one aisle and began moving towards the sauces at the back of the store when you saw workers with mops and paper towels moving down the aisle you were about to go down. You followed after, curious, but that curiosity was gone as your mouth dropped. There Namjoon stood, looking guilty while Ha-joon looked unfazed.
A large glass jar of tomato sauce, usually at the top of the row so children couldn’t get to it, had failed and shattered, spilling the sauce all over the tiled floor.
“I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry,” Namjoon kept repeating to the workers as he tried to grab some paper towels and help them while trying to hold onto Ha-joon’s legs.
“it’s fine, sir, really. Accidents happen,” the employees assured with gentle smiles as they cleaned the mess. Namjoon looked up and saw you standing at the end of the aisle with your hands on your hips as you stared your boyfriend down. He approached you slowly, swallowing hard.
“Ha-joon kept grabbing stuff and he just pushed it off the top,” Namjoon said as he took Ha-joon down from his neck and held him away from his chest. Both Namjoon and your son had tomato sauce all over them as it had splashed up when it hit the floor. You stared at your boys for a few seconds, still trying to take things in.
You grabbed Ha-joon and sat him back in the cart. The toddler was wiping his stubby fingers all over his arms and sticking them in his mouth to taste the sauce. At least he was having a good time.
“Namjoon, you really passed the clumsy gene onto our son. It’s like you want me to cry,” you slightly joked, looking your boyfriend up and down as tomato sauce stained his jeans and covered his bare arms as small dollops of sauce littered his face. He stared at you for a moment before giggling softly.
“I look ridiculous, don’t I?” he said, looking down at his legs. You couldn’t help but smirk. Reaching your hand out, you wiped sauce from his cheek and stuck your index finger into your mouth. “At least the sauce tastes good,” you said.
“Now go grab a jar so we can pay for it and I don’t have to feel any worse.”
Namjoon nodded and went to grab a jar, placing it in the cart. Namjoon guiltily walked behind you as you finished up your grocery shopping, trying your best to ignore the fact that everyone you passed stared at your family like you were a bunch of circus clowns.
You had gotten everything on your list and began to move towards the registers when Namjoon cleared his throat.
“This might be a bad time to mention this but Ha-joon really wants this one truck set in the toy aisle.” Your eyebrows furrowed as you looked between Ha-joon and your boyfriend.
You opened your mouth to say something but stopped and closed it again.
“You-” you stuttered, sighing at Namjoon.
“You two are going to be the death of me,” you whined, pushing the cart toward the toy aisle even though you didn’t feel like rewarding either of your boys. But as you pushed, Ha-joon smiled at you as if he didn’t just cause so much trouble.
“Which one?” you asked as you looked at Namjoon, hands on your hips. He moved over to the set that Ha-joon wanted and put it in the cart as Ha-joon practically tried to break his back so he could turn to look at it as excited sounds left his lips.
“Okay, now we’re done,” you said as you turned the cart around and headed to the cash register.
“Wait, we didn’t get my snacks yet,” Namjoon said. You stopped dead in your tracks and turned to stare at Namjoon. He stared back at you, knowing you were beyond done with your boys.
Pushing the cart silently, you went over to the snack aisle and watched with your hands on your hips as Namjoon put various snacks in the cart.
“You make me feel like I did something wrong when you stand like that,” he commented as he looked up at you. You scoffed. “Really, tomato man?” you said. “You feel like you did something wrong?”
He swallowed hard.
“I’m sorry,” he whined, moving over to you and linking his large hand with yours. You wanted to stay mad for as long as possible because you didn’t want to hurt your pride, but as Ha-joon sat in the cart with tomato sauce all over him and Namjoon stood with tomato sauce in his blonde hair, you broke into laughter, surprising the both of them.
Ha-joon laughed when anyone laughed, so his little voice merged with yours as you put your hands on your knees and just laughed, straight from the belly.
“What am I going to do with you guys?” you said with a smile as you stood back up, looking at Namjoon. He smirked.
“Okay, now, really, let’s go. The Kims have caused enough mayhem in this store,” you said as you pushed the cart to the register, a chuckling Namjoon following after you.
You paid for the groceries and held Ha-joon as Namjoon carried the bags to the car. “Don’t touch anything when we get home. You both are getting in the bath,” you ordered as your face scrunched up in disgust as Ha-joon’s tomato covered fingers touched all over your face as you put him in his car seat.
Once you got home, you told Namjoon to take Ha-joon inside and start a bath immediately while you brought the groceries in and put them away. Once you got upstairs to the bathroom, your mood couldn’t help but lighten when you saw Namjoon playing with his son in the tub.
“Making music is your thing. Grocery shopping is mine. Let’s keep it that way,” you said with a chuckle as you bent down to kiss Namjoon’s cheek. “Deal,” he said as he looked at you with so much love and adoration in his eyes.

𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚕 𝚞𝚜 ➛ 𝚓𝚎𝚘𝚗 𝚓𝚞𝚗𝚐𝚔𝚘𝚘𝚔
When you and Jungkook were in your “honeymoon” phase, no matter how busy his schedule, the two of you would go on the most adventurous dates every weekend. Every weekend. Once, Jungkook took you to ride horses on the beach. The next weekend you spent hours in an arcade, hurling insults at each other due to both of your competitive spirits. The next weekend you two went to the zoo.
But once the two of you got married and had your real honeymoon, the two of you realized how meaningful, if not more, spending time together would be if you just sat in the comfort of your home. Ordering in and building pillow forts in the living room would be the best way to end the month. As the years went on, Jungkook’s schedule got far more busy. But you've always been used to the weeks, sometimes months, you two would spend apart.
You didn’t realize the strain it put on your marriage, though, until you two sat in silence at the dinner table. Before the two of you got married, before his schedule got so hectic, the dinner table would be the place where stories were recited, events from that day were told, and jokes were made. It was the one time you two had to really be together.
Since it was mainly you at home alone, you refrained from buying too much food since it would just be your sole responsibility to eat it all before it went bad. But when the BigHit building had mold in the walls and had to close for the day, you found yourself scrambling to pull enough food together to feed both you and a hungry Jungkook.
So, instead, you ordered pizza.
Looking up from your barely-eaten slice, you saw Jungkook pushing around his crust, a bored expression on his face.
You couldn’t help but let out the slightest sigh, your shoulders drooping as the somber sound escaped your body. Regardless of how slight the sound, Jungkook’s head snapped up. Not just because it was the first sound to breach the suffocating silence, but that simple sound weighed heavily on his heart. It was as if all the thoughts troubling your mind came to light.
And that’s when Jungkook saw a practical stranger sitting across the table from him.
Yes, you were the same bride he had wed three years ago, but there were no strings tying the two of you together. There were no vows holding you two together.
You had dyed your hair brown, something Jungkook had just noticed now, even though it had been that way for a little over a month. You had gotten another piercing in your ear, the shiny silver dangling. You had your nails painted, a rare sight. But with all the spare time--alone time--you had, you were desperate to find anything to fill the time in the day.
He didn't like this. He didn’t like sitting directly across from you yet feeling like he was on a raft, drifting away from you as rough waters pushed the two of you apart.
Reaching across the table, his fingertips brushed against yours, causing your once-hung head to look up, the simple skinship sending shockwaves through your body.
“Let’s go on a date,” the dark-haired male simply said, his eyes smiling as he gazed at you. Your eyes widened as your eyebrows raised, not expecting that suggestion to leave his lips. “A date?” you questioned, resting your head on your hand, a small smile growing on your pink-tinted lips. Jungkook felt warm inside. He thought you were adorably irresistible when you did that. He nodded, his dark locks, which have grown long, bouncing around his forehead.
When you opened your mouth to question when he would have time for a date, it was as if he read your mind. Jungkook knew you like his favorite song. Knowing someone for over a decade has that effect. “I have an off day tomorrow. Apparently, the mold has spread like a virus.” Scrunching your nose up in disgust, you pushed your plate away, no longer having an appetite. Throwing his head back to let out his unique, high-pitched laugh, a pure, genuine smile planted itself on your face as Jungkook’s large hands clapped together.
What you did wasn’t even that funny, but what you did reminded him of the person he married. And no matter how simple your humor was, it always had Jungkook gasping for air as tears caused by intense laughter slid down his cheeks.
“So, yes, a date. Just the two of us,” he said once he gathered himself, the tips of his fingers never once leaving yours. “Well, isn’t that what a date entails? Two people?” you smartly asked, the sarcastic side to your personality that everyone knew you by coming out after being hidden for so long. “Well, it’s about to be a one person date if you keep this up,” he warned, making no sense, yet it had you hunched over the table, genuine laughter leaving your ajar lips. Lifting your hands into the air, you wanted to appear innocent. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
A little light in Jungkook went out as soon as you moved your hand away from his, but as soon as it was back on the table, Jungkook took the skinship a step forward and held your hand, interlacing your fingers. You stared down at your hand connected with his, almost having forgotten how calloused yet baby-butt soft his hands could be.
“What is it that we’re doing on this date?” you asked when the silence got too much. “I was thinking we go out to a fancy restaurant and get some good food,” he said, never once breaking eye contact with you. You contemplated it for a moment. “You can wear that favorite dress I love on you,” he suggestively said, the seriousness in the statement getting ruined by him wiggling his eyebrows like a weird predator. Reaching your other hand over the table, you flicked the top of his hand, causing him to giggle.
Just before you had the chance to pull your hand back, he grabbed it, interlacing his fingers so that he was holding both of your hands with his. “Got you,” he said in a low, light voice. The two of you shared a silence that was filled with love. A silence that was filled with good energy.
“I’ve missed you, you know,” you mumbled, staring at him with gentle eyes filled with love. He was the first, is still the first, and will always be the only person you looked at like that.
“Oh, I know you have,” he cockily said, the voice ever-so-soft. “Must you always be so cocky, Mr. Jeon?” you asked, tilting your head to the side. He smiled, cute bunny teeth peeking out from behind his lips. “Only because I know you love it, Mrs. Jeon.”
Jungkook had happily volunteered to go grocery shopping, scanning the list with excited eyes. But when he saw that all you had was healthy stuff, when your back was turned, he added a few items of his own.
He left you to get dressed for your evening out, causing feelings of stress to cloud your mind. You usually always knew what you wanted to wear whenever you and Jungkook would go out, but for some reason, you felt the need to impress him. You knew that he loved you and your body, but it had been a while. What if those feelings changed?
Taking out his favorite dress, white and loose, you tried it on, gazing at yourself in the mirror. It still fit the same, but you could tell that you had gained a few pounds here and there.
He did say that he wanted to see you in his favorite dress, so you shrugged it off and went to put on your makeup before doing your hair. As you searched the closet for heels, you picked your favorite black stilettos, putting them on the floor for your to step into.
In the doorway stood a silent Jungkook, admiring the love of his life. Wearing the fanciest dress or the baggiest sweatpants, you were radiating to him; absolutely ethereal.
As your head tilted up to look in the mirror, you smirked when you saw your husband standing there. “You look amazing,” he complimented as he entered the room. You stood up straight, gazing at him with eyes filled with love. “Thank you,” you mumbled, blushing like a schoolgirl. You and Jungkook had been together for what felt like forever, but no matter the days, months, and years, every compliment had you melting.
“Give me a few minutes,” he said before entering the bathroom, his suit already laid out nicely. Smiling to mostly yourself, you sat at the bottom of the bed, waiting for your prince charming to reappear.
Maybe some thirty minutes or so later, you and Jungkook sat at a circular table, white velvet tablecloth hanging to the floor. From afar, you and Jungkook were the best looking couple by far in the restaurant. In a sharp black suit, sharp angles broadening his shoulders, Jungkook was a dashing sight to look at.
But you felt uncomfortable. With each joke that left his lips, you found yourself getting shushed by others as loud, explosive laughter was improper in such a public setting. As you and Jungkook stared in silence at the pasta barely touched on your plates, an idea swam into Jungkook’s mind.
As his body suddenly jerked, you looked up to witness Jungkook, large and pale hands, grabbing all of the bread in the wooden basket. “Jungkook, what are you doing?” you asked, amused with your husband’s peculiar behavior. Taking a large bite out of one piece, he flashed wild, excited eyes at you before grabbing your arm. Throwing a lot more money than necessary onto the table, he pulled you out of the restaurant in a swift yet slow-enough-for-you-to-keep-up job, the occupants in the establishment watching with judgmental eyes.
“Jeon Jungkook, I am wearing heels!” you exclaimed, trying your best not to trip and break your ass on the pavement. “Take them off then,” he simply suggested, stopping in his tracks to look at you. Your head tilted to the side as you gasped. “It just rained. The concrete is still wet.”
Smiling at your sensitivity to anything dirty, Jungkook turned his back to you, bending his knees at a 90 degree angle. It took your mind a little while to realize what he was doing.
“Are you gonna get on or not?” Jungkook whined, turning his adorable head to look at you. You jumped onto his back in an instant, his arms wrapping around your legs to hold you securely. With two hands tightly grasping over-floured bread, he began to sprint down the block, dodging party-goers.
You couldn’t help but smile. “Don’t drop me!” you warned, the breeze whipping your hair around your face. “Where are we even going?”
“So many questions, y/n. We’ll be there soon.”
Jungkook ran into the entrance of your favorite park, further confusing you.
He jogged over to a bench by the river, gently seating you. You stared at your husband as he kneeled in front of you, gently sliding the heels off of your aching feet. Sitting next to you, he handed you a somewhat-squished piece of bread.
“What’s this for?” you asked, looking down a the bread in your hand.
“For them.”
And with that, he ripped off a piece and threw it onto the grass. After a few seconds, a few geese came waddling out the bushes, ready to fight each other for that bread. You thought geese were adorable. So, of course wanted to feed them, you ripped off a few more pieces and threw it, smiling as each goose had their own piece of bread.
As you watched them eat, you leaned over to rest your head on his muscular shoulders. “Will you tell me why we just abandoned our expensive dinner?” you asked, reaching over to hold his hand. His fingers interlaced with yours, holding on tightly. “That’s not us. Expensive dinners. Formal outfits. We don’t do that,” he explained, resting his cheek against your forehead.
“This is what we did on our first date, y/n. Right after we ran away from some fancy ass restaurant where I was getting stared down by your father.” You chuckled at the memory, now able to laugh at your parents crashing your first date to interrogate Jungkook.
“Do you remember what we did after we fed the geese?” he questioned, his thumb rubbing soft and consistent circles in the back of your hand. “We went and got fast food and ate way too many fries,” you said, causing Jungkook to laugh. “You said that I couldn’t finish two large fries in one sitting, and I just had to prove you wrong.” You shook your head as you smiled, glad to be taking this stroll down memory lane with your husband.
Leaning back so that he could look at you, his large hand, still smelling like bread, reached up to cup your cheek. “You know, that was when I fell in love with you. Mouth filled to the brim with greasy french fries,” he lightly joked, watching you with his gentle doe eyes. “You always know how to kill a romantic moment,” you teased, causing him to chuckle.
“Those fries were pretty damn good, weren’t they?” you said, mouth watering just at the thought. “You know what else tastes pretty good?” Jungkook asked in a low, gravely voice, his face inching closer to yours. “That cake-flavored lip balm you’re always using,” he replied, his top lip brushing up against yours.
As his lips connected with yours, his large hand cradled the back of your head, pulling you in closer to him. The taste of your lip balm made its way onto his taste buds, causing Jungkook to yearn for more. His tongue explored your mouth as he pressed your chest against his. The two of you engaged in a make out session for a few minutes until you pulled away.
The look of pure disappointment on his face made you feel bad.
“But, babe, I want fries,” you whined. He laughed. “My baby wants fries?” he questioned, a sweet smile on his lips. You nodded. In one swift movement, he kneeled in front of you, back to your legs. “Your chariot awaits, Mrs. Jeon.” Climbing back onto his back, he grabbed your heels before standing up straight, adjusting your body on his.
“Let’s go get some fries then.”
And with that, Jungkook was running back through the streets with you comfortably on his back, on his way to feed the love of his love some greasy, unhealthy fries. Because that. That was you and Jungkook. Dates full of mischief and severely unhealthy food.
