The new 911 promo really got me in the feelings
So this happened
(also on ao3)
One moment things are normal, and Eddie’s smiling, agreeing to ride in the ambulance with Charlie. The next Buck feels a warm splatter on his face and it takes a second for his brain to register the noise of a gunshot. Then time slows to a crawl. All he and Eddie do is stare at each other, they lock eyes and don’t move. Too shocked to process what just happened. They stay frozen like that for seconds that feel like minutes.
And then Eddie is falling and Buck is being tackled and pushed behind the fire truck.

Seven Stops Early
Bucky’s not sure how he manages not to cry, but he does it. He holds back the tears and plasters on a tight smile as he tells Steve that it’s alright, he understands; while inside he’s repeating please stay, please stay, please stay, as if it will change a thing.
Or, Bucky’s point of view from that time Steve jumped back in time for a woman he barely knew, leaving his best friend alone to deal with being an ex-brainwashed assassin while stuck seventy years too far into the future

Don’t Forget to Smile
Written for @febuwhump day 1: Mind Control
“What do you think you’re doing?” Steve snarled.
“Oh, me?” the man said, breaking into a smile, “I’m having fun.”
Peter didn’t think he’d ever been more terrified in his life. The manic glint in the man’s eye and the glee with which he approached the situation made Peter feel like just about anything could happen now, and none of it was going to be good.
On a fine June afternoon, while Peter is helping some of the Avengers fight humans enhanced with Chitauri tech, a nameless man in a purple suit walks right into the middle of it. Unarmed except for his unsettling British accent and an air of confidence, he shouldn’t be this powerful.

Quick update
I’m moving my base of operations to @paperowl and will be posting more sporadically on this blog in the future. It’s early days, but this is just a heads up to let y’all know I’m gonna be slowly transitioning over in the next few weeks. So follow me there if you feel so inclined. If not, chilling here is fine, I’ll still post fic updates and the like.

it's not even a blip by definition. A blip is "an unexpected, minor, and typically temporary deviation from a general trend." A few hours, days or weeks? yeah, I could see that being called a blip. FIVE YEARS??? that's not minor at all (and you could argue not very temporary either).
the characters of the mcu can keep saying it all they want but i will never call it the blip that’s such a dumb fucking name

The real problem is that nobody communicates, which includes all the stupid spoiler prevention that means people can’t act well, (like being told Tony’s funeral was a wedding) and they're all on super tight deadlines. The Russos wrote Endgame when Captain Marvel HADN'T BEEN WRITTEN YET (x). Like literally, they sidelined Carol because they didn't know anything about her or her storyline.
Stories just can't get told effectively when there isn't more oversight to big + medium plot points spanning several stories (see: Endgame & the last minute rewrite of Black Widow, likely because Nat was dead all of a sudden (x))
I watched Wandavision episode 4. And I’m gonna say this for a standalone series, that episode was really good in the wider Marvel universe, especially for Captain Marvel there is a reason why I have grown to dislike the ‘interconnected’ universe because it screws up the storylines for individual heroes.
Like yeah, it’s great Maria Rambeau started SWORD (we don’t know how or why) and when SWORD started but basically Marvel Peggy Carter’d Maria (Carol and Steve are already kind of, on paper, similar did we have to do this again too?).
And then we learn Maria died?
This is where I hate how Carol’s story was overwritten by Endgame because it’s either the Powers That Be didn’t consider how Carol will be affected that Monica was dusted (WTF is ‘blipped’, what a stupid term) but we never got to see how it affected Carol. Or if she even went looking for Maria and Monica.
Or if Carol knew Maria had cancer.
Like, maybe they’d touch on it in the second Captain Marvel but as of now, we have nothing yet.
The closest person to a canon queer character was Carol and Maria but nope, of course they would rather that one off character in Endgame played by the straight director of the movie.
And now, Maria Rambeau, apparently the Founder of SWORD, is (presumably – who knows, the might have magic’d her or something but until that time she is currently) dead. We don’t know if Carol knew that, if she was in the funeral, if she visited.
So, that’s where I am now and I am mad. Because I don’t know if the PTB even considered all this and will address it or they never did.

Showing the chaos that followed after everyone came back during “the blip” was also appreciated. By literally showing us people just randomly pop up where they disappeared 5 years ago in rooms and hallways of this one hospital, with everyone either being confused as hell or trying to help whatever way they can, even with no context on what’s happening.

Vision does not have super speed. Vision does not have super speed.
Vision can fly pretty fast sure, but thats exactly the point. When he needs to be somewhere quickly, He FLIES. Not once in any of the movies has Vision run at supe rspeed. That ability, complete with those exactly same visual effects, belongs to my mans Quicksilver.
Wanda is not only keeping Vision alive in her pocket reality, she’s given him Pietro’s powers in a subconscious way of keeping him alive too.
