So, you decided to write a fanfiction with your favorite female character having a kid. Thank you very much. I’m a sucker for kidfic. However, please consider doing a bit of research into the whole pregnancy and early infancy thing. Or even childhood development.
A few things that I’ve read over the years, and often enough or just so plain wrong that it stuck in my mind :
- Morning sickness, and all other pregnancy symptoms do not happen within a week of having sex. If you character feel nauseous, weak and tired a week after having sex with whoever you ship her with, she’s more likely has the flu.
- Labour take more than 5 minutes. And it won’t take two whole days. At some point, doctors do something about it, it becomes dangerous for mother and child.
- Afterbirth exists. You don’t need to describe it, nor even mention it to be honest. But don’t write like it’s just a few minutes between the birth and the mother wheeled up in her room.
- No woman will be happy with their whole family, friend and neighbors and their dog visiting her within an hour of giving birth. Think about it. You’re exhausted, still in pain,  overly emotional, just met your new kid, high on drugs most of the time. Would you really want so many people crowding your room?
- Babies do not talk when they’re 3 months old. Nope, not even just “mama” or “dada”.
- Also they don’t walk at 5 months.
- Or eat a whole steak by 7 months. (Yes I still wonder about that one and I read it years ago).
- Basically read about “baby milestones” and take your pick between the range they give. If you want to portray the kid as precocious, use the earliest.
- No one sane  has ever hired a babysitter because they were cooking diner while baby was napping in the next room. Maybe they have a full-time nanny, but they don’t pay the neighbor girl 20 bucks for that.
- I don’t care how smart they are, and who raised them, but no 4 years old would know 4 languages, how to diffuse a bomb, fire 5 differents guns and riffles, and control their fear and emotions and explain something science (don’t remember what) to Tony Stark. Some things have to be learn and take training, you know.  - I know it seems cool and validating and all, but a 14 years old telling a teacher to fuck off won’t be highed five by the principal.
- No parent will be good parents AND letting their 6 years old drink a beer. It’s one or the other. Take your pick. I’m not a parent so I’m sure I missed a lot of thing. So people please add to this!

set your entire music library on shuffle and report the first 10 songs that pop up, then tag 10 people. I’ve seen this on @katasstrophee and she said whoever want to do this. And I want.
Since I never rebuilt my music library 2010 or 2012 or something like that, and used mostly Spotify since then, I’ll use what I have on my old Ipod. The music there hadn’t been updated since well 2012 or even before. I bought the thing back in 2005, and it still works like new. My music taste didn’t change that much since then. I just added new artists from the same genres.
1) Lend me your Comb - The beatles 2) Song or Guy - Eton John 3) I’m Glad for your Sake - Ray Charles 4) Bleu, Blanc, Blues - Claude Nougaro  5) Have a nice day - Bon Jovi 6) Le grain de beauté - Bénébar 7) Delicate - Damien Rice 8) Ode to my Family - The Cranberries 9) Fuck the system - System of a Down 10) You and whose army - Radiohead.
Well, it is quite accurate. It miss some Muse here, and classic rock, but it’s representative.
So, I need to tag people.....hmm let’s tag @emilievitnux @tobyquinns and whoever want to do this and wasn’t already tagged

It could be a first step. The very first step of the redemption arch you mentioned. But for it to become a redemption arc, there’s a need to make a vast majority of good choices from now on.
And we haven’t seen that. At all.
just bc riggins & friedkin expressed empathy at the end of their stories doesn’t make them good people. one right choice isn’t a redemption arch & they hurt a lot of people. riggins having the emotional skills to realize why what he was doing was wrong but still doing it does not make him a good person, but a bad one. more so than if he didn’t realize what he was doing actually. friedkin deciding not to hurt dirk at the very last minute after hurting him for months doesn’t mean he’s suddenly a good person. they’re bad people who tried to do a good thing once when it was more convenient for them. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Music of a old geek
Something occurred to me the other day.
When I was grounded from TV, it was a real punishment. I
Downloading things on the Internet wasn’t really a thing back then. Hell, most people didn’t even have Internet at home. I couldn’t tape my shows because that was part of the punishment. I had a few friends who could do it for me, but often times we were grounded at the same time.
Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime didn’t exist, at least not in this form.
I’d to wait for reruns (that could takes years in France at the time), or for the show to be released on VHS (Again could take years, and was really expensive, at least to me).
In the end, there’s episodes of Friends, Buffy, Ally McBeal Party of Five, Stargate SG-1 or Charmed I have seen only a decade s after their first run. And that’s for show I truly loved. The ones I just enjoyed, I still haven’t seen some ep.
And because of that, I had to give up on Alias, never watch further than season 2 and a half IIRC; After a month of no TV, I couldn’t understand anything anymore.
Now, sure it isn’t fun to be a bit behind, and you could be spoiled, just as much I could be because we didn’t need Social Media to spoil things to our frennemies.
But, fellow tv geeks of reddit who still are teens, is the threat of that punishment is really that effective, now ?
Are you truly upset or you just shrugged it off because “well, I’ll catch up with Netflix and streaming As soon as I get my laptop back?” Or the pressure to be up to date, to be able to go on tumblr and talk about your shows with your friends make it still an effective punishment?

Imagine, Peter fell in love with some girl. MJ or Shuri or whoever. Why not even a guy. Anyway, Peter being Peter he doesn’t know how to go about it.
So he decides to ask Tony about it, because you know, he is Tony Stark. He was a playboy for most of his life, before he got engaged to Pepper, and all. If someone in Peter’s life knows about how to talk to women and people they want, it must be him, right?
So he asks him, about girls and such.
And Rhodey just laugh and laugh and laugh until he can’t breathe, and and tears are rolling down his face.
At both Peter and Tony looks, he is able to compose himself a little and explain himself. And he says
“Kid, it took 10 years, a kidnapping and a dozen of near-death experiences before Tony even dare to kiss Pepper. Is that really the guy you want advice for your love life?”

I was bitten by a dog when I was a child, so I research the topic a little too much.
The cause of children being bitten and killed by dogs, from every breeds are : carelessness, bad behaviors and bad treatment of the dogs.
When you hear bad treatment, you think about cruelty and horrible stuff happening to the dogs. There is that. But that’s not all of it.
It’s also not considering that dogs are animals, living breathing things with their own fears, boundaries, and defense mechanism.
If you let your child treat a dog like a stuff animal, and let them do to the dog whatever they like, including bitting at their nose (as I once seen a picture of a -(still toothless) baby doing exactly that) because t “too cute”, and “aww” and shit like that, you put both the dog and the child in danger. The dog first, because the kid can and will hurt the dog unwillingly, scare the dog or simple make moves that make the dog feel like he is being attacked. In return, the dog, like any other being, will try to protect himself, and will attack what is perceived as a threat.
Point is, dog are dangerous because owners don’t teach their dogs to behave well, but also because they don’t know how to behave, and how to make their children behave around a dog.

WARNING: ANIMAL CRUELTY
Apparently people have been adopting dogs and either killing them themselves or dropping them to a kill shelter (and one even said they were flying them to poor Asian areas to be eaten) under the Twitter hashtag #pitbulldropoff
This is completely cruel and evil and word needs to get around about these demons so everyone knows what these demons are planning to do to dogs once they get ahold of them.
If you know someone or if you yourself is planning to give away a pitty by craigslist soon, DONT and wait for awhile!!!! They act like they’re going to adopt them and act all nice then they get rid of them, don’t be fooled!!

Reasons to save Scorpion
- We need to see the family reunited
- We need to see Walter and Paige back together
- We need to see Quintis being parents.
- Ralph was one of the only non-annoying teen on TV, right now. You can’t throw that away
- We didn’t have the obligatorily episodes of any Network TV Shows of “They found a baby that they have to take care of “, nor “Documentary episode” and many other tropes that every network show like Scorpion should have
- We never met Toby family, and that is unacceptable
- They rehabilitate the name of a nice insect that everyone fear for something they can’t control, and it’s a good thing
-

We need Scorpion season five because we need to see Happy and Toby as parents because obviously we need a scene of someone babysitting and Happy saying “If anything happens to my kid I’ll cut off all your limbs with a chainsaw” in her signature deadpan and everyone knowing she’s 100% serious.

So, I rewatched Iron Man 2. And seriously, Natasha is shit at being undercover. I mean, one of her first move when presenting herself as a simple employee of Stark Industries that no one should find threatening is to show her targets how she is really really good at some high martial art moves.
I’m not a master spy, or anything like that, but I was one, and tried to pass for anything else, I don’t think I’d showcase how great I am at fighting a man twice my size and who was an ex-boxer.
I mean, anyone see that and ask themselves “who is this woman???”. And I don’t think it’s something you want people to ask themselves when you go undercover.

It’s been a while since I took the time to go on Tumblr. Even longer since I posted something.
But I just watched Scorpion Season Finale, maybe series finale (who knows?) and I have a lot of thing to say.
Fair warning to Walter’s fan, this won’t please you. I’m not here to upset anyone, so don’t read this if criticism on Walter upsets you.
Why felt the need for this warning?
Because it’s been awhile that I wanted Paige to break up with Walter. “I don’t have enough EQ” isn’t a good excuse anymore. That relationship wasn’t healthy anymore for Paige. She was pulling almost all the weight, and that can’t be good on someone. She wasn’t happy, Walter clearly wasn’t happy either if he was miserable with her friends. I like the idea to show that love doesn’t always conquer all. It’s realistic, to say the least. You need more than love to work as a couple in the day to day life. Or maybe it wasn’t love if it didn’t worked out. Who knows? I’m not an expert in love. But something was missing. And one of them had to change who they are, deep down for that relationship to work. And no one can ask that from anyone;
So I was happy that she did it.  Plus Walter kind of deserved it. The guy always been stubborn, and had always had a hard time understanding relationship. That’s Walter, and I’m usually okay with that. But this time he screwed up despite everyone telling him that he was screwing up, and how it was going to end. Happy, Sylvester, Toby, all of them told him. But He had to be right, he had to be better than everyone. I can’t excuse this kind of arrogance, especially from someone who knows their flaws.
Sure, the writers are to blame here. Walter usually isn’t that arrogant. So far, he had asked for help in areas he was struggling, it was out of character for him to not listen to his friends on this matter.
Writers also screwed up a lot this season with Florence. She was a good character, and a good match for Sly...But why they had to put her between Paige and Walter. All the issue with Waige would still have happened, without Florence falling in love with Walter. What the Fork Writers?
Writers also kind of screwed up with Quintis. It was kind of obvious that Toby and Happy will decide to adopt. We expected it almost from the beginning. All the false pregnancy, the failed natural attemps and weirds science tricks to get pregnant, Toby’s unfertility etc, almost all of that felt unnecessary and just fillers so they could reveal what we all already knew in the finale. Especially since every part of that felt rushed. We spent really little time on how they felt about the failed attempts, how Toby’s felt learning he couldn’t fathered a child, or how they took the news that whatever they did with Toby’s sperm didn’t work.
Trying and failing to have a baby is something that a lot of people go throught everyday, normal people do. And I feel like they barely scratch the topic.
Truthfully, I think that this season of Scorpion, especially the second half wasn’t the strongest....by far. Few character development, many stories that didn’t move forward, and cases didn’t interest me as much.
That being said, I liked how they finished it. The team split up, in logical ways. Of course Sly go against Walter and with Paige. And Toby always been the most vocal against Walter and his tactless, insensitive way. I think he got fed up for good this time. And Happy felt like he was the one that broke up her family.
Then, on the other side, Florence is in love with Walter, and well, I doubt Paige would welcome her. And no matter what he thinks or feels, Cabe will always be with his son. And I feel he is the one that will bring them back all together in the end.
After all, that’s what fathers do.

Quick  post just to say that I’m alive, I’m happy with new job, and getting involved in a little too many arts and music festivals and other charity and a few hobbies, and having IRL friends, now.
Oh and you know, getting therapy, listening to your therapist, and changing your life dramatically when it worsen your condition (and makes your life miserable) is hard as fuck, will make you poor if you need to quit your job, make you even more miserable for a short time, and it takes a lot of time (4 years of therapy, for me, and counting since I’m still not completely okay, and 18 months since I said “fuck it this life is too bad for me, let’s change everything”), but it does work.
I’ll admit that I’m privileged here, since I’m living in Europe, with a social safety net provided by the government, real healthcare meaning that I barely have to pay for my therapy, and I have a supportive family, so I knew that I would never be homeless nor hungry.
But that last part isn’t really the point of this post. The point is that I’m saying too many people becoming anti-therapy and treatment in general, or just try to get better. It’s one thing to not being able to seek that help because you don’t have healthcare, you don’t have money, or you will suffer too much social stigma for it. It’s another one to outright refuse it, and call it “ableism”.

I just wanted to add something just in case people think it’s all just beautiful muscles with much behind.
The rules in the Olympics is that a transman has to compete with men (after 2 or 3 years of hormonal therapy, I think. I don’t remember exactly), because he would be too strong, and thus unfair, to compete against woman.
I'm not transphobic but there's no way the transgendered peter parker headcanon would work in the way of physical appearance, there's no way a trans guy could every achieve the muscles that are required of Spider-Man or any superhero. I'm not transphobic, but you trans guys will always have feminine builds and it isn't realistic for you to say that transgenders could look like buff superheroes or even just strong men. Sorry.
okay putting aside the fact that you are blatantly transphobic despite how much you say “i’m not transphobic” and also putting aside the fact that while peter parker does develop muscle definition he is still known for being very small and lean even after being bitten by the spider, let’s just take a look at some trans guys who will never be able to have the physique of superheroes or of strong men in general:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and that’s just a few of the many trans guys in this world, some of which are fat, or skinny, or curvy, or muscular as fuck – you know, like any other human being. can cis people stop acting like they know shit about what trans people look like.

I just watch the first episode of Alone Together, and I feel I have to warm you guys: don’t make the same mistake.
The characters are annoying. All of them. The main characters, the supporting ones, even the barista that has 1 line.
They’re mean, they’re lazy, they’re rude, and that no respect for anyone or themselves. I don’t want to see them and follow their life week after week. It’s like watching the worst of the tumblr crowd who absolutely refuse to do anything to better their life, and then whine because no one like them, they don’t have a job or anything going on for them, self-depreciating cringe humor (not the self-depreciating funny one) included.
For both the main characters, I wanted to say to them that if no one liked them it wasn’t because they were ugly, or quirky, it’s because they were mean and rude to people. Also freeloaders, and have nothing good to bring to the table. Not even some humor.
Millenials deserves better than this show

Not gonna lie, I still like The Fosters. It’s my guilty pleasure. And I adore Jude, Lena and Stef (in that order). And I like Mariana, Jesus, A.J, Mike, Emma and Erin.
But I truly hate Brandon. I can’t stand him anymore. Even in this episode. He does nothing bad really. I can see that. And yet, I yelled at him that “dude, you’re know this girl for a week, in love with her for 3 hours. Who do you think you are to give your opinion about her treatment, and calling her mother out????”.
And Callie. I don’t hate her as much but I can’t stand the “poor lost girl, who sacrifice herself for the good of others”. Seriously writers, quit the martyr act ! It isn’t cute, it doesn’t make her look good. It makes her look dumb, especially with line like “I didn’t think ICE would follow us”.
So, can we have The Fosters but without Brandon and Callie?

Just watched the latest episode of This is Us. I loved it because man, Kevin just became too relatable.
Here to all the independent, no trouble children, who parents forget that they do need to worry about them because they don’t have obvious struggles.
