Satoru Gojo frowned as his hand sped up in squeezing his stress ball tightly. His sunglass eyes zeroed in on the team leader's door, leaning back on his chair. His posture and stress ball were doing nothing to alleviate his nagging curiosity as Suguru came back from the toilet. Once again seeing his best friend stare at Nanami's door.
“I thought I told you to stop staring at that door, Satoru.”
 “There's something going on between Nanami and (Y/N).”
Suguru exhaled exasperatedly, plopping down on his office chair, sliding next to Satoru.
“What's your evidence this time?”
“The two of them have been in there for an hour and a half.”
Suguru deadpanned, returning back to his computer to log on and get started with work.
“Satoru. They must be having a meeting.”
“For that long?”
“Well they are trying to secure the Malaysian Food Tycoon as a client. So yes it'll be that long.”
Satoru huffed, returning to his computer. Even since Nanami and (Y/N) returned from (Y/N)’s cousin's wedding, their co-workers have changed. They were both grumpier than usual but Satoru had an inkling that they were trying to deter everyone from the fact that they were dating or hooking up. So he was slowly gathering evidence but his best friend Suguru didn't have his back.
“Look … I know that there is something going on. And I'll prove it to you.”
The door opened as (Y/N) stepped out to look over the file in her hand. Nanami was next to her, pointing out a few things before they both returned to their places. A light bulb lit in Satoru's mind as he smirked at Suguru, the dark haired man furrowed his eyebrows suspiciously.
“What are you planning?”
“I'm gonna ask (Y/N) to be my date for the company event tomorrow.”
“Don't bother. Yaga strictly said no dates.”
Satoru slapped his thigh, leaning back and throwing his stress ball in the air to catch it before another idea snapped into his head.
“I got it. I'll ask her to wear a saree like last time.”
Suguru frowned, stopping what he was doing to stare at his friend. Unable to comprehend the stupidity in that plan as he scooted forward and flicked Satoru's forehead.
“She always says no.”
“Yeah but the catch is that I'll ask in earshot of Nanami. She'll say no to me but Nanami will persuade her into wearing one. If she does wear a saree, I'm right and she and Nanami have something going on. If she doesn't, then I'm wrong. Come on Suguru! Trust me on this. I bet you she will wear a saree.”
Suguru smirked as he raised an eyebrow. Knowing that he will easily win this bet. Like all bets they have placed in the past, Suguru won them. He was ready to bite as he gave a nod, whilst folding his arms.
“Is this a confirmed bet?”
Instead of a worried fearful look, Satoru tilted the rim of his sunglasses down his nose, his blue eyes sparkled with mischievous delight.
“Oh yeah! I, Satoru Gojo, bet to Suguru Geto that (Y/N) Aggarwal will wear a saree to tomorrow's event.”
His hand thrusted forward which made Suguru eye it carefully, his eyebrow quirked up as he remembered.
“What's the prize and forfeit this time?”
“Whatever you want, Suguru.”
The dark haired man's eyes widened, surprised by the serious weight to the words. Satoru was determined to make this bet which had the cogs in Suguru's head turn. It had to be big and something that would kill Satoru. He didn't know what to do as he leaned back to ask the brunette beside Satoru's desk.
“Hey Shoko! Need your help.”
She dragged her chair around to swivel in-between the two tall men. Her eyes darted between the two to ask.
“What do you need?”
“Need to come up with a forfeit for a bet against Satoru. Said I could do anything.”
Shoko's face twitched as she slowly turned her head to stare Satoru dead in the eyes. Finding it incredulous as she stuttered.
“Do you have some sort of death wish? You don't have a winning streak when it comes to bets with Suguru.”
Satoru rolled his eyes as he ran his fingers through his unruly hair.
“I know but I have a guarantee that I'll win this bet.”
“And that is…”
“(Y/N) will wear a saree for tomorrow's event.”
Shoko turned her head to Suguru, the two of them having a silent conversation about how crazy Satoru was. But it seemed like Shoko got her answer as she exhaled before her eyes widened in glee. As she laid out her idea.
“Are your Tiktok followers still asking for you to do a dance in a maid outfit?”
Satoru's lips almost did a glitching motion, understanding the hidden motive behind Shoko's words. He gives a firm nod as he knows that he will still win the bet.
“Yes and if that's what you're suggesting then I'm game.”
Shoko and Suguru share a stunned look, immediately understanding that Satoru was serious.
“Fine. If you lose the bet, you have to wear a maid dress and dance for your Tiktok followers. If I lose the bet, -”
“I get to take her out on a date.”
Suguru frowned in confusion, before his eyes widened in shock. His skin paler than ever as he stuttered.
“Her?”
“Yeah her. You have to give me her number and I get to go on five dates.”
“One date.”
“Four.”
“Two.”
Finally both men settled on three. The two men shook hands and now their bet was sealed with Shoko overseeing it.
After an hour, it was just getting close to lunch time and (Y/N) was sitting at her desk. Satoru could spot his co-worker getting ready to go out for lunch. Nanami had gotten out of his office with a file in hand, turning to (Y/N)’s direction. This was his break as Satoru stood up and swooped his way to sit on the corner of (Y/N)’s desk.
His co-worker exhaled, glancing up at the blue-eyed crazy.
“Satoru. Can I help you?”
Satoru smirked as he rolled his eyes.
“Can't I just sit here and catch up with you? You were gone for a while and I wanted to hear about India.”
(Y/N) leaned back on her chair with her arms folded, giving Satoru a deadpan expression which made Satoru scratch at the back of his head.
“What do you want?”
“Right. Erm tomorrow …”
“I am not going to wear a saree, Satoru Gojo.”
“Oh come on!” Satoru jumped and had the whiny voice of a five year old. “You'd look so good in them and you'd get everyone's attention.”
“Yeah and they would focus on my boobs rather than the work I'm talking about.”
“Ha you said boobs!”
(Y/N)’s hand was about to reach her stapler so that she could throw it at Satoru. The tall silver-haired man nervously laughed as he stood up and held wary hands out to calm her co-worker.
“Hey hey! Chill. But seriously, like you'd look good in a saree.”
“Bye Satoru!”
(Y/N) jumped up and stomped away from Satoru, passing Nanami. The blonde haired man's eyes followed (Y/N) before focusing on the insubordinate in front of him.
“What were you talking about?”
Gojo smirked as a plan formulated in his head. He exhaled dramatically, slowly building up to his part.
“Ah it's nothing. I just wanted to ask her to join Suguru, Shoko and I for lunch but she ran away, said she had plans for lunch.”
Gojo shrugged as he strolled away from Nanami, his hands in his pocket and a smirk on his face knowing that his plan was soon going to work.
~~~~
“Mhmmm.”
Kento hummed delightfully as he shared a long passionate kiss with (Y/N). The two of them were in his apartment living room, finally able to kiss each other after restraining themselves at work. Since the two of them returned from (Y/N)’s cousin's wedding. They rekindled their love and became a couple once again.
This has been going on for a month and it was tricky to hide this relationship from their co-workers. All apart from Haibara, who walked in on the two of them kissing at the wedding. Daadi knew as well, ‘how’ was never a question that needed to be asked.
(Y/N) was staying the night over and the two were getting a little hot and heavy during their movie watch. Kento had fully reclined back on the sofa with his girlfriend sitting on his lap and running her fingers through his shaggy hair. Tasting like raspberries and chocolate which had Kento constantly chasing after her lips.
Finally she let go to take a moment to breathe, a soft lazy smile made its way to her cheeks as she asked.
“Nanami…”
“We're not at work now Darling, call me by my name.”
“Kento…”
He gave a short kiss before looking down at her body, wearing matching pink silk pyjamas that were so loose that it left him imagining her body underneath. His vision shifted as he wondered how she would look in a saree. Gojo's words were playing up in his mind and before he knew it, his mouth began to speak.
“What are you wearing tomorrow?”
“Hmm?”
“Tomorrow's party. What are you wearing?”
It took (Y/N) a few seconds to bring her focus back to reality, her arms looped around Kento's neck and his hands rested on her hips, stroking slowly in an up-down motion. She shrugged, not thinking much about his words.
“Just a blue dress, why?”
Kento shook his head, gently lifting her off his lap and grasping her hand to lead her to his bedroom closet. It was big and spacious but what he wanted was a small box that was nestled underneath his hanging shirts. It was a blue cardboard box as he handed it to (Y/N), smiling at her.
“I … had Daadi go to the shops for me to pick this outfit for you. Would you please wear it for tomorrow?”
Her cheeks flushed red as she took the box from his hand. Peeling the lid off and lifting the outfit up, only for her eyebrows to crease suspiciously as she ran the long fabric through her fingers. It was a black chiffon/tulle saree with lace embroidered on it, accompanied by an embroidered black t-shirt bra blouse which would be eye-catching.
Her eyes darted from the outfit in hand to her boyfriend Kento. Surely he was joking as she huffed nervously as she asked.
“A saree? Why a saree?”
“Because you'd look beautiful in it.”
“Kento.”
He smiled so sincerely which made her heart soften as she hugged him, thanking him for the gift. There was no way that Nanami came up with this idea himself and she knew that tomorrow, she was going to kill Satoru Gojo.
~~~~
“So ready to lose the bet Satoru?”
Suguru raises an eyebrow as his hands nestled in his haori pocket. Suguru had gone for a mixture of modern and traditional outfit, wearing a suit pant and white shirt as well as a purple and golden haori on top. Meanwhile Satoru and Shoko stuck to more traditional black tie outfits. Shoko was in a simple brown full sleeve dress and Satoru was in a black and white suit with a black tie, blue circle rimmed sunglasses and slick back hair.
Satoru rolled his eyes as he turned his head around to see Haibara talking to a party guest. He waved to get the younger co-worker's attention which made him politely excuse himself before approaching his older co-workers.
“Any word from (Y/N)? The party's started.”
It was held in a large spacious conference hall with a small buffet table of dishes. Waiters were going around serving pinot grior in champagne flutes. The lighting had a slight golden glow. It was the company event to celebrate the company's success as well as to introduce themselves to new potential clients.
Haibara pulled at the collar of his shirt, rather nervously as he whispered.
“She's running late. She should be here any minute.”
Haibara grinned before his eyes landed on Shoko, a smile on his face as he held a hand out to separate Shoko away from Suguru and Satoru. The two men glanced around before Suguru spotted (Y/N) at the entrance. His eyes widened and he caught himself about to drop his flute.
In front of him, (Y/N) had her eyes narrowed, looking around whilst adjusting her outfit. It was what Satoru bet, (Y/N) Aggarwal had worn a saree. A black tulle saree, the skirt was long and had pleats. The extra scarf was draped across her chest. Her jet black hair had a shaggy damp look to it which just looked attractive.
(Y/N) had killed it and Suguru was in trouble as his eyes widened. He needed to prevent Satoru from spotting (Y/N), downing his drink and dropping it onto a nearby tall table. Suguru looped his arm around Satoru's shoulders, leading him to have his back facing their co-worker. Making some kind of excuse as he pointed at a few girls in front of him.
Satoru frowned as he once again came in front of Suguru to question this strange behaviour but his eyes darted over his shoulder before locking on the target of their bed. His jaw dropped, hooking a finger around his sunglasses leg and yanking them off to get a better look.
He tucked his glasses into his shirt collar, chuckling as he brought his hand to the side of Suguru's face, pushing to the right so that Suguru wasn't blocking his vision.
“Well well well, Suguru! Looks like I was right. Hey Shoko!”
Hearing her name being called, she and Haibara rejoined Suguru and Satoru. Her eyebrows quirked up and Haibara had a confused smile on his face as Satoru announced.
“I have won the bet Shoko, and now as requested Suguru must allow me three dates.”
Suguru had a foul expression as he fished for his phone, taking it out and forwarding the number to Satoru, shivering at what he had done. Giving his best friend the cruelest stink-eye and regretting the fact that he didn't embellish more on the bet.
“I hope you're happy.”
“Oh yeah! I can't wait for the date.”
Haibara didn't know who they were talking about as he raised his hand slightly as if asking to join the conversation.
“Hey … who are you talking about?”
Satoru shook his head, leaning his arm on Suguru's shoulder.
“Suguru's hot cousin who just became a nurse. By the way, thank you Suguru.”
The dark haired man rolled his eyes which made Satoru laugh out loud, his eyes going around before noticing that (Y/N) wasn't in the room. His head turned left and right but she wasn't there.
“Hey, have you seen where (Y/N) went?”
“She was - Huh? She was just there a minute ago.”
“What's strange is that I haven't seen Nanami since I got here? Where are they?”
~~~~
A soft moan and humming sound can be heard from an office, Kento and (Y/N) were in his office, kissing and connecting. Her lips caressing and licking his lips while her hands were around Kento's neck, her fingers playing with the hair on the nape of his neck. His hands were on her waist, feeling a mixture of soft supple skin and rough tulle fabric.
His office was a fairly nice size with ceiling to floor windows and a sturdy mahogany desk. On the right hand side of the desk was a filing shelf with all sorts of files and books. Some files were dropped on the floor as Kento had his girl pressed up on that wall before he lifted her onto his desk.
This was something they would never do, they could easily get caught and so far they had been so good at keeping a low profile. It was Kento's fault, he took one look at (Y/N) and immediately he just had to savour her. Before she could greet anyone else, he swooped in and led her into his office.
Which led them to their current actions, Kento brought his fingers to where the remaining saree was over her shoulder. He unveiled it off her like he was opening a present, reluctantly he let go of her lips and trailed down her jaw, to lick and nibble into the base of her neck. He could taste a slight bitterness of perfume which enthralled his nose with notes of bergamot and jasmine.
This felt so wrong as she brought her nimble fingers to his shirt buttons, having already shrugged off his blazer when they made out against the shelf. Finally she saw his bare chest that she had been craving to see since they started dating. Kento pulled away from her neck for the moment, after giving her a wet hickey that made her yelp and whine.
His voice was hoarse as one hand cupped her cheek while the other was pressed on the bare expanse of her shoulder blades. Kento's nose was brushing against hers as he had to ask.
“Are you sure you want to do this, Darling?”
“What do you mean? Of course.”
(Y/N) was about to lean in again but he held her arms down before she could move. Looking directly in her eyes so that he could get his words across to her.
“Look … it's only been a month. I don't want to rush you into anything. We just got together after 13 years.”
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow before she let out a sound of realisation, giving a firm nod.
“Hm, maybe you're right.”
Kento gave a nod as he stepped back holding a hand out to help his girl off the table as she continued.
“We should wait.”
Her boyfriend gave a nod as he was just about to button his shirt when her next words made him pause so he could catch it clearly.
"I mean it's not like I spent everyday thinking of you for the last 13 years. We should push aside the thousands of nights where I laid in bed alone. No one but … me in the house, me and my thoughts. And honestly, they get wild.”
Kento paused before his eyes widened to his girlfriend, as she had her back facing him. She pressed her body against the table, grabbing the hem of the saree, dragging it up the back of her legs and revealing her butt.
He took a sharp inhale when he could see her underwear nestled in the folds of her vagina, soaked from their kissing and his eyes followed her fingers. One hand held the saree up to be bunched up around her waist while the other began to rub over her underwear.
“I've thought about this kind of scenario. You take me into your office, bend me over your desk like this. Slowly. Slowly. Using your fingers to tease me more.”
As (Y/N) speaks, she gets more and more wet. Glancing over her shoulder to see Kento completely entranced by her actions. His hands flexed with tension as he was hypnotised by his girlfriend's filthy lewd acts. Completely surprised by the way she is acting, as he resisted falling into her trap.
“Oh! You'd treat me so well. Even when we were young, you used to treat me to ice cream. So good f’me.”
She gasps and her leg jerks at the building pressure on her clit. (Y/N) is trying so hard to charm Kento and she can tell she's close to breaking him. Her next words might push him to the brink.
“Everytime I put my fingers in, I'd imagine it was your fingers. Even when I was with my ex, I'd always imagine it was you. Reminding me that I'm yours.”
Kento Nanami snapped as he stepped forward to loom over her, one hand wrapping around her as a makeshift ponytail while his over hand squeezed her cheeks, forcing her to look up at him. His soft gentle gaze was replaced by a steely callous expression, the corner of his lip twitched as he hummed.
“I was going to step back so we continue to build our relationship. But you just love to test me. Remember that you asked for this.”
He gave a short sweet kiss as he began to rut against her, her butt and the back of her thighs would push against the front of his thighs. The hand that was in her hair, stroked a line down her body, underneath her saree and underwear. Sinking in three fingers which had her hiss at the sudden intrusion, her vagina grew more wet at the rough treatment.
He thrusted the fingers at a quick speed which had her gasp, Kento's other hand slid down to the base of (Y/N)’s throat, his lips came over to push his tongue in and lick inside her mouth. Whilst he was kissing her, his eyes watched her right hand, pressing down on the table. His gaze narrowed particularly on the fingers, his mind spiralled and for a moment he thought he saw a diamond ring on it.
(Y/N) choked at the sudden speed increase of his fingers, feeling her orgasm come much quicker than she was used to. She panted, moving her lips away and pleading.
“K - K - Kento! I - I n-need more-”
Just before she could say, Kento pulled his fingers out and spun his girl around to once again seat her on top of his desk. His mouth was going dry, desperate to do everything but having so little time. He glanced down at the way his dick was straining in his pants, clenching his fists tight as he warned.
“We shouldn't.”
(Y/N) whined as she spoke with an airy tone.
“Please! Need you in me.”
“Fuck! I don't have a condom.”
“Sh, it's ‘kay. ‘M clean and have an implant.”
His heart pumped rather aggressively as he quickly unbuckled his belt and unzipped pants, pushing them down enough for his dick to come out.
Before (Y/N) could get a chance to complain, Kento finally pushed himself inside of her. His head rolled back with a groan as her vaginal walls had clamped itself around his dick. What he had dreamt for 11 years of his life (Because he didn't start thinking about sex and masturbation until he was about 16.) Was nothing close to the present.
She was in heaven. Years of dreaming of Kento and now she finally could feel him inside her. Leaning her head onto his shoulder before looking up into his eyes with watered eyes.
“K-K-Kento.”
Her legs tensed at the sudden rough intrusion as she hissed, her fingernails clawing at his back while her legs wrapped around his waist. Heels digging into his calves as Kento pressed rushed sloppy kisses onto her forehead.
“Shush! ‘M sorry.”
He slowly reared his hips back before pushing forward again, his pace which was hard and rough, the two of them could barely hold on to each other as their skin started to grow hot. He could feel the sweat on his back as he watched (Y/N) gasp and whimper. A complete opposite to the usual loud mouth aggression she would bring out on the daily.
Kento's lips curled up in a smirk as he raised her left calf onto his shoulder, going deeper and actually hitting her g-spot. Her back arched, letting out a silent cry while her eyes streamed down her face at the intensity of his thrusts. Unable to hold herself up she dropped her back against the desk, one hand holding the edge beside her head and the other resting on top of his hand which was holding her leg against his body.
One thrust. Two thrust. Three thrust.
Kento's right hand moved around to where the clitoris hood was, pressing down and rubbing circles which made her hiss harder at the insane play on her body.
“You look incredibly beautiful like this. Quiet and desperate for me.”
A small laugh left her lips as he slowed his movements down, curious as to why she was laughing.
“Desperate? Says the one who brought me in here.”
Kento let out a deep chuckle, leaning down to hover over her. She smacked her teeth at the burning stretch in the back of her thigh as her boyfriend pecked her lips.
“Well I wasn't the one touching myself now, was I?”
(Y/N) smirked and was about to open her mouth to give a rebuttal but Kento straightened his posture and thrusted into his girl, humming with a moan instead. Slowly he continued to gyrate his hips into her, taking control and fluidly fucking himself into her, while she soundlessly gasped and bit her lip.
It wasn't long before her back arched at the tickle of her spot and without any word of warning she shuddered from her intense orgasm. Her eyes fluttered closed and Kento raised an eyebrow at her quietness.
“Did you just-?”
(Y/N) gave a nod and shivered from the overstimulation. The sex she was having with Kento now was completely different than her drunken one night stand that she had with a Kento lookalike. Clearly she missed out at the intense emotions and feelings that came with sex as Kento began to increase his pace.
He was close to coming as he began to kiss and nibble on (Y/N)’s calf before groaning and asking.
“Fuck! ‘M gonna cum soon.”
“D-d-do it i-i-in me. Less mess.”
Kento huffed with a smile, nodding against her leg before his back rolled from intense pleasure and he came inside her. There was a wide grin on his face as he carefully slid (Y/N)’s leg off his shoulder after he pressed soft kisses against the bite marks. Finally able to have sex with her as his eyes went down to admire his dick inside her debauched pussy.
There was a lot of fluid on the both of them as he slowly pulled his dick out. She flinched and his eyes were wide with wonder at the way her vagina pulsated at the loss of his dick. Almost craving for Kento again as he watched his semen leaking out of her entrance.
Kento's eyes darted around to look for something to clean up before he went down on his knees for a closer look. He brought his fingers to swipe the fluid into his mouth which made her hum and moan. He brought his tongue to lick at her labia and around her clitoris, making sure to thoroughly clean her up before then hooking his finger into the gusset of her underwear and bringing it back to cover her.
(Y/N) had her eyes closed as she twitched with tiredness at the incredible sex. Slowly she opened her eyes to see her loving boyfriend licking his lips, tucking his dick into his pants to then zip up and buckle. He buttoned up his shirt, tucking it into his trousers before bending down to loop his undone bowtie around his neck.
He had a soft lazy smile on his face as he brought gentle hands to her shoulders, helping his girlfriend slowly sit up, giving her a kiss before draping the remaining fabric of her saree across her chest again. Their bliss came to a sudden halt as the door to their office opened and their tall silver-haired co-worker was standing at the door.
His blue eyes widened, bringing a hand to point at the couple before screeching.
“I fucking knew it! Suguru!”
Satoru spun around and left the office to get Suguru. This gave Kento and (Y/N) only a few minutes before they were to be discovered in a compromising position. Kento was completely red in the face and (Y/N) could feel heat flaring in her ears. They basked in embarrassment for a good minute before they sprung into action.
Kento went around his desk to put his blazer on and to redo his bowtie while (Y/N) got off his table and straightened her saree. A light bulb went off in her head as she sat down on Kento's desk, opening the computer as she asked.
“Hey, what's the password?”
“10thingsiloveaboutU.”
(Y/N) wiggled her eyebrows at her boyfriend's cheesy password, which was a play on their first movie date. Typing it in and opening up YouTube so she could find a fake zoom call video. She gestured for Kento to come over and stand next to her before she pressed play. At the same time, the office door opened and Satoru burst in followed by Suguru, Shoko and Haibara.
“I told you these two are-”
Satoru cut off as his jaw dropped at the completely mundane scene in front of him. This wasn't how he saw it. He only had been away for two minutes and the room looked neater than ever. (Y/N) was talking rather animatedly in Hindi while Nanami glared at Satoru.
Giving (Y/N) a tap on the shoulder before going forward to shoo them out of the office, Nanami closed the door behind him and glared at his four co-workers.
“What is the meaning of this?”
Satoru glowered as he pointed an accusatory finger at his Team Leader.
“You tell me. You two were just fucking in there.”
Nanami scoffed rather disgustingly.
“How dare you? We were in the middle of a call with a potential client from India and you burst in with inappropriate claims. I could fire you for that.”
Suguru and Shoko had nervous glints as Suguru tugged his best friend's arm.
“I'm sorry, Nanami Sir! Satoru has had one too many drinks! We'll keep an eye on him.”
Suguru and Shoko dragged Satoru away, the tall man was still giving a childish stink eye. Haibara still stood there with his arms folded as Nanami mimicked his stance.
“What's the matter Haibara?”
“Were you seriously having sex in there?”
Nanami scrunched up his face but Haibara gave him a deadpan expression. He could not hide it as the blush on his face gave it away which made Haibara's face scrunched up with shame as he gritted his teeth.
“Gross! You guys know better than that.”
“I know.”
Haibara shook his head and gave a friendly pat on the shoulder to his friend. Informing him to come join them for toasts before leaving Nanami alone in front of his office. A soft relieved exhale left his lips, the door of his office opened and (Y/N) peeked her head through, looking around before stepping out.
“That was close.”
“Haibara knows what we did.”
This made Kento's girlfriend pinch her nose before she huffed, straightening the pleats of her saree and making herself presentable. She glanced up at Kento, awkwardly smiling at him.
“Right … well I'll see you there.”
She was about to walk off when Kento grabbed her wrist and spun her around into his chest, pecking her lips once more before he asked.
“You okay after what we did?”
She gave a bashful smile, nodding and kissing his cheek as a way to show her appreciation. (Y/N) slowly pulled herself away from her boyfriend, giving one final look over her shoulder before rejoining everyone in the party hall. Kento wistfully sighed as he reached into his pocket to fumble with a small velvet box.
He could always ask her another day.
"Let me go, Nanami!"
(Y/N) huffed as their rental car began to drive off. Haibara was in the driver seat with Daadi on the passenger seat, she herself trying so hard to not tear up. Nanami was in the back, holding onto (Y/N)'s wrists. Nanami huffed rather exasperatedly as he let go of her wrists.
"There."
She glared at her blonde co-worker.
"Why did you pull me away?"
"Because you were going to explode at your cousin's wedding."
(Y/N) folded her arms and leaned right into Nanami's face.
"Maybe I should have. She deserves it after she brought that man out."
"No you wouldn't. You're not a cruel person."
She raised an eyebrow at his claim.
"What makes you sure? I'm not that same girl that you knew thirteen years ago."
Nanami huffed in laughter, leaning back on his seat.
"In the one year of working with you, I beg to differ. You're exactly the same."
(Y/N) bared her teeth at Nanami, tempted to just sink her teeth into his jugular. It was useless trying to argue with a man like him. It didn't take long for them to reach the house as they all got out of the car.
(Y/N) rushed in first, heading up the stairs and to the room that she was sharing with Daadi. Crouching down to go under the bed to pull out their suitcase. She went to the drawers, grabbing her clothes as tossing them into the suitcase. Daadi, Haibara and Nanami reached the door to see her begin packing.
"Daadi pack your bags. We're leaving."
The three of them shared apprehensive expressions with each other. None of them moved from their position which made (Y/N) repeat herself. A soft exhale left Daadi’s lips as she entered the room to sit on the bed.
"We're not going."
"Erm, why not? We've bared and faced enough embarrassment for one night. 'Sides I, a hundred percent know, that Tina will not want us at the wedding. We'll be doing her a favour."
"Embarrassment is natural, it's not a good enough reason to run away. And whatever she is, Tina is your cousin. You grew up with her so you can't just drop and leave."
"I didn't grow up with her."
"We stayed with them for at least five years and you've visited her a lot in the past. Don't give me rubbish excuses."
(Y/N) stopped packing as she stood up over Daadi, leaning over her. Nanami twitched and was about to walk forward when Haibara shoved a hand in front of him. A silent warning to let the scene in front of them unfold.
"Why are you so adamant to stay?"
Daadi looked down, fiddling with her fingers and it was the first time in (Y/N)'s life that she had no words to say. It hit her quick in a flash as her jaw dropped and she stumbled back.
"I hope you're not thinking of what I'm thinking."
"Please!"
"I am not talking to him."
"Just give him a chance."
"A chance for what? So that he can walk out again when I need him most. I don't need him in my life."
Daadi huffed in frustration. Not able to get through (Y/N)'s bull headed mind. Nanami's brain lit like a light bulb as he stepped into the room to help Daadi, knowing he will be rebuked.
"How are you sure? You can't know unless you don't try."
Staring incredulously at Nanami, she propped her hands on her hips.
"Erm I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to Daadi."
Daadi was about to open her mouth but Nanami held up a hand for her to let him handle this. Instead he glanced over his shoulder, requesting Daadi.
"Can you please give us a moment?"
"I'm not talking to you Nanami!"
Haibara furrowed his eyebrows, feeling rather conflicted but one look from Nanami made him nod as he held out a hand for Daadi.
"Daadi!"
Daadi glanced up nervously but still followed Haibara out of the room. The door closed behind them as Nanami loomed over her with a surprisingly unphased expression. He cleared his throat.
"How long are you gonna spend the rest of your life being miserable?"
"For as long as I live. My life was fine without him. Like I said, I don't need him."
Nanami huffed but he had a suspicious grin on his face as he massaged his forehead, stuffing his hands into his trouser pocket. The way he was acting, strolling around and just being physically there was making her ears flare up with heat.
"Why is that so fucking funny?"
"Just this entire situation reminds me of something that happened many … years … ago."
Before she could ask what the situation was, he derailed the conversation to a completely different topic.
"Do you remember the day you left me?"
What? Why was he remembering that day?
"What does that have-"
"Please humour me."
She raised an eyebrow but went to her vanity to take off her jewellery. It certainly felt awkward to admit she remembered that day, every single moment of her life. Reminding her about the biggest mistake she had made in her life. Instead of saying it face to face, she responded through the mirror.
"I do."
"You never clearly told me why. All you said was that you were going back to India to be with family but you never came back. I lost contact with you. It was enough of a sign that you left me. So why did you end our relationship?"
She pursed her lip, having gotten rid of her jewellery. This wasn't the time as she glanced up, her anger once again flaring up as she snarled.
"This doesn't have anything to do with what we were talking about."
"Why are you so scared to answer this question?"
"Nanami!"
"I believe I have enough of a right to know why."
"Drop it, Nanami!"
"I gave you time and space last time and that made me let you go. Not this time! I'm not letting you go."
In that moment, something snapped in her mind as she swung around and stepped to him. Jabbing him with her words as he held her face high.
"DROP IT NANAMI!"
"Why did you leave?"
"Because I didn't want to lose you too!"
Nanami flinched from the words, stepping as (Y/N) huffed. For the first time in 13 years, the heavy words and decisions she made as a 13/14 year old, circled back. The emotions that weighed her and made her carry a heavy burden were now teardrops streaming down her face.
He could see how tired and exhausted she was from carrying a lot of anger and regret. Using the back of her hand to wipe away the non-stop flow of tears as she rasped.
"You remember the time when my mum died."
The tall blond gave a solemn nod, looking downcast as he remembered that day. It was terrible and he could vividly recall the way (Y/N) shook in his arms when she had told him the news. He even remembered the day of the funeral, everyone had worn white and there was a picture of her with a marigold garland on the frame.
"The day I told you I was going to India, two days before my father dumped me onto Daadi. He said he couldn't bear seeing me because I reminded him too much of my Mum. First my mother, then my father left me. The people I loved were leaving and my mind just escalated to Daadi, Haibara and you leaving me.
"I thought I was cursed and that was why my parents left. I decided then … that if I didn't love much, I wouldn't lose anyone. 'S why I left. I didn't want to lose you too because I loved you."
Nanami gave a nod as she sat down on Daadi's makeshift bed. He sat beside her, allowing her the time to speak her heart which had been closed for years.
"Which is crazy saying because we were only 14 and … love? We were too young…"
 Nanami huffed in a smile as he spoke.
"I don't think so."
(Y/N) finally glanced up into Nanami's eyes, instead of seeing anger and resentment, she could see comfort and adoration in his eyes as his hand enveloped her hand.
"The point I wanted to make (Y/N), was that what happened with me and you was exactly what happened with you and your father. He left you because he loved you too much and was scared of hurting you from his pain of losing your mother.
"But he's come back … and he's trying to rectify that. He at least deserves a chance to be heard out. I guess in a similar fashion I could have done the same as you, when we met again at the office. But I have too much love for you."
Her eyes watered as he gave a soft nod, this made her fully sob, lunging into Nanami's arms. After so many years she finally felt his comforting touch, nuzzling her face into his neck whilst he rubbed her back in an up-down motion. Unbeknownst to them, Daadi and Haibara were peeking through the door, having witnessed everything and finally feeling relieved after days trying to reunite (Y/N) and Nanami.
~~~~
The bustling streets were packed. Nanami had worn a white cotton button up and khaki shorts to combat the sweltering heat in India. Right now he was in a small cafe, sat at two tables away from where (Y/N) was with her father. He had ordered tea and paratha as a light snack, a small smile on his face as he watched the two converse.
It had already been an hour and a half which gave them ample time to reconcile and reconnect. It seemed the conversation came to a close as the two stood up, walking to where Nanami was which made him stand up and wipe his mouth with a table napkin.
(Y/N) had a placid look on her face as she gestured to Nanami.
"This is Kento Nanami. We went to the same school and after many years, ended up working at the same company. Kento, this is my father. He knows Hindi well."
Arjun grinned as Nanami put out a hand to shake but the man stepped forward and pulled the blond Danish-Japanese into a hug. Patting his back heartily before stepping back.
"Thank you. I'm glad I finally got to put a name to a face. Before my wife passed, she told me that you were (Y/N)'s boyfriend. Just know that she really liked you Kento and thought you were great."
Nanami rubbed the back of his head, giving a short bow of gratitude but Arjun's face dropped which made Nanami swallow nervously at the sudden change of mood. Arjun shifted his head to his daughter as he mildly threatened.
"Don't you break this man's heart otherwise your mother will come back to haunt us both."
Nanami laughed nervously while (Y/N)’s lips threatened to break out a smile. Arjun grinned as he reached into his pocket to take out a wallet, fingering it to pick out a few notes as he handed it to his daughter, asking her to go pay. She reluctantly nods and heads to the counter, giving Arjun and Nanami a few minutes alone.
Arjun smiles rather wistfully before advising Nanami.
“Keep doing what you're doing Nanami. Her heart will melt soon. She'll open up to you quicker than she will with me.”
The taller man was confused why Arjun was saying this but before he could delve further, (Y/N) came back and handed her father the change. Arjun bowed his head at his daughter, excusing himself and promising to meet them at the wedding tomorrow.
Now it was just (Y/N) and Nanami as they walked out of the cafe, waiting on the side of a curb for a taxi. His eyes went down to her fingers scratching at the other, he was distracted by her fidgeting that he almost missed what she said.
“Thanks … for taking me to meet my father. And for yesterday's talk.”
Nanami gave a soft nod and smile, hunching down to meet her at eye level.
“No need for thanks. I did it to help you and Daadi.”
“Still.”
A small smile came on Nanami's face as he nudged at her shoulder.
“Are you softening up to your team leader?”
Seeing the way her cheeks flushed with heat and her eyes narrow in embarrassment, bringing the back of her hand to hide her eyes.
“Stop. This isn't like you.”
“True. But I'm only like this when I'm with you.”
He finally managed to bring a smile to her face, pulling her hand away and finally looking Nanami in the eyes.
“Can't deny that. Even when we were young you used to follow me around like a puppy.”
“Well now that is incorrect. You were the one who had big puppy eyes when we were around. Not to forget that you asked me to hang out first.”
“Well you kissed me first so who's the lovesick puppy now!”
They managed to flag a taxi down as it halted in front of them. (Y/N) had a smug grin on her face as she climbed into the taxi. Nanami exhaled rather romantically before he sat down. The taxi drove off and for once (Y/N) sat close to him with her head leaning on his shoulder, her heart already began to melt.
~~~~
(Y/N) pursed her lips as she watched her cousin's friends flit around Tina, helping her with last minute getting-ready things. She could hear the music in the background, some pop Indian song from the latest bollywood movie. Tina looked pretty in her deep red bridal dress, opting to stick with the traditional outfit.
Everyone else was in the hall but her Bua asked (Y/N) to come up and hold the dupatta over her head along with Tina's younger sister Jhanvi and two of Tina's friends. Tina stood up, finally taking note that her cousin was in the room as she smirked.
“Hey, how was your meeting with Arjun Maama at the mehndi? I was so glad that he was able to make it.”
(Y/N) huffed but gave a small smile as she stepped up to fix Tina's outfit. Nothing her cousin would say will affect her now, she's outgrown her cousin's childish ways.
“It was good, thank you. You can now stop with the petty acts of jealousy.”
Tina scoffed, looking around to see if her friends were listening but they weren't. Her friends were too busy taking selfies.
“I don't know what you're talking about (Y/N). I was just trying to do a good thing.”
“Sure if that's the story you want to stick with. There's no need for you to be jealous any more. You have everything now, especially a husband who will spend money on you.” (Y/N) smirked, brushing away lint off Tina's shoulder. “You have a better life than me. An unmarried degree level woman in her late 20s, earning twice the amount your soon-to-be-husband would make. Heck this woman has a boyfriend and not a husband. You're doing way better than me.”
Tina's face flushed almost pale as Bua Payal came in to ask if they were ready. (Y/N)’s smile grew wider, answering her aunt as Bua Payal clapped to hurry everyone into their position. (Y/N) and Jhanvi were holding the dupatta at the front and Tina's friends were holding the back corners. Tina's friends had a basket of rose petals as they began to lead the bride out of the dressing room and to the garden venue.
They slowly marched into the open garden, they were walking on a lush deep blue carpet which lead to a small wedding dais where a priest and Harpreet were sat. Harpreet had a big grin on his face as he watched his bride approach them. Bua Payal and Tina stepped up, as Tina sat down next to Harpreet which signalled to the priest to start the wedding mantras.
(Y/N) folded the dupatta and handed it to Jhanvi before going to sit down on the front row between Nanami and Daadi. The man looked good in Asian wear, sporting a mint green kurta, white stole and white loose pants. He matched (Y/N)’s salwar kameez dress colour which made him happily grin at finally seeing his date.
Daadi too smiled as she leaned into (Y/N)’s ear.
“Did you threaten Tina?”
“No Daadi! Of course not. I simply thanked her and requested her to stop being jealous.”
Daadi rolled her eyes but playfully smiled, praising her for standing up for herself. Nanami snuck a look at (Y/N) only for him to be caught by her which made his cheeks blush. Her hand reached across and interlaced her fingers with his, bringing their hands onto her lap to hold close.
Through the ceremony, they held hands and even when they stood up to shower the couple in strew petals of marigold and roses, they still held hands. Watching her cousin and cousin-in-law take their rounds around the fire, had her mind racing forward. Imagining herself and Nanami walking around and tying their lives together seven times.
Before she could reach there, she needed to tell Nanami how she felt. While everyone was eating, (Y/N) and Nanami snuck off somewhere back to the hall. She began to fiddle with her dupatta before looking up into Nanami's - Kento's eyes. He stood over her rather patiently, knowing that she would say what she needed to say.
“Do … I want to say I'm sorry for leaving things bitter. It was wrong-”
Before she could say anything further, Kento cupped his hand over her mouth with a slight shake to his head.
“Don't bother. There's no need for regrets.”
She gave a nod and dropped her head again. The words were choking in her throat yet Kento curled a finger underneath her chin and lifted her head up to reconnect eyes. Just so he could give her strength to say her words, which helped and she let go of a shaky breath.
“Then … can we start over? Start again from the beginning.”
“No.”
Her heart pounded loudly at the sudden refusal, shocked that Kento had straightforwardly refused. The shock was short lived as Kento placed his hands on her cheeks.
“Why start again when we can continue from where we left off? Is that okay with you?”
Her eyes dropped to his pink lips, not hesitating to lean in and kiss him. Her eyes shut tight to pour her love into Kento. Her hands slowly came up around his neck whilst his looped around her waist to pull her close. The two of them moved passionately in sync and Kento had to be the one to let go and take a deep breath.
“Does that answer your question?”
A small laugh left Kento's lips as he leaned in again to kiss her. Finally reconnected as the lovers they were meant to be since they were teenagers.
I really like Main tera and your detailed writing and depiction of Indian culture made me so happy. I have a few headcanons about my perception for y/n :
She is a strong independent career woman who is beautiful ( with long black straight hair because most Indian girls have long hairs ) and taller than her relatives and male cousins ( which pisses her relatives )
She isn't very good at cooking whereas Nanami has gr8 culinary skills
She has gr8 taste in fashion
The mehendi ceremony just reminded me of my cousin's marriage where I danced and stole the show
I love this series , gr8 work
Wow you lowkey nailed her 😅. She's a terrible cook but she cleans like a maniac.
Her hair is average length though, it used to be longer when she was younger but when she got older, she cut it.
She is quite tall, just a nice 5'6'' maybe 5'7''. Her uncle's have shrunk. One cousin is taller but the rest are average height.
She dresses well because of her job.
Thank you for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
"What the fuck do I do 'Bara?"
(Y/N) couldn't believe her eyes as she stared at the white box. Red and gold confetti was strewn across her work desk but her eyes focused on a gold bordered invitation with the names:
‘Tina Singhania weds Harpreet Singh’
The box was an over the top gesture her cousin did to embarrass her but that was not her main concern. Her main concern was the fact that the invitation was addressed to her and her boyfriend. She didn't even have a boyfriend, not even a casual partner.
(Y/N) rubbed her forehead from the impending headache. Haibara smiled nervously as he patted his friend on the shoulder, looking at the open box. She only had about two weeks to find someone before she would then have to fly out to India for the wedding.
"I mean, you just have to find someone to be your boyfriend. Not an actual one, just pretend."
(Y/N) grimaced as she slumped down right in her chair. To make matters worse came the most annoying human being in the world.
"(Y/N)! What's that on your desk?"
The man with the blue circle rimmed glasses and shaggy silverish hair: Satoru Gojo. He came around and sat on the corner of his co-worker's desk, looking into the box and gasping at the red cupcake inside. He reached in and plucked it out, opening his mouth to take a bite when it was snatched away.
"Suguru, what the hell?"
Suguru rolled his eyes and returned the cupcake back on (Y/N)'s desk.
"Satoru, you don't take things that aren't yours." Suguru turned to his co-worker with a smirk. "You ask: Pretty Woman, can I have the cupcake?"
(Y/N)'s scrunched up with disgust as she brought a hand up to turn Suguru's face away.
"Don't show me your creepy ass face. And don't call me Pretty Woman!"
Right behind Satoru was his best friend, Suguru Geto, the inseparable duo that often liked to fan flames and cause mischief. Suguru had a scary face most of the time but he was calmer and nicer than Satoru. The two of them came over to see this mysterious package that had arrived on (Y/N)'s table.
"So your sister is getting married?"
Third person to arrive was the brown haired and half-tired Shoko Ierie. She had pried out the invitation from (Y/N)'s hand and read all the information. The box was drawing too much unwanted attention as (Y/N) lifted the box and shoved it under her desk.
Everyone seemed to have gathered around her desk as Satoru leaned over and picked the invitation out of Shoko's hands.
"You had a sister? And didn't even think to tell us."
"Only you Satoru."
Satoru stuck his tongue out at Shoko, his hand reaching out to grab the cupcake but Suguru snatched it and held it close to his chest. (Y/N) reached over and snatched the cupcake to give it to Haibara, folding her arms.
"I don't divulge my personal life to you, Satoru."
"And to think I considered you my best friend."
(Y/N) refrained from scoffing before retaining her composure. She may as well tell them the whole story seeing as they will continually bother her.
"She's a cousin and off limits Satoru."
Satoru scrunched up his face and folded his arms like a petulant child that was just refused their favourite candy. (Y/N) pinched at her forehead, her forehead creasing.
"Only there's one problem."
Suguru raised a curious eyebrow as (Y/N) sat at the edge of her desk.
"What is it?"
"I have to take a boyfriend with me."
Suguru and Satoru shared a confused look with one another. They didn't know their work friend had a boyfriend as Satoru exhaled. There went their chance.
"Ah shame. I'm sure you and this boyfriend you-didn't-tell-us-about are gonna have a great time at your cousin's wedding."
(Y/N)'s face scrunched up as she shoved Satoru's shoulder.
"I don't have a boyfriend, you idiot!"
Satoru whistled with relief and sent a secret thumbs up to Suguru who rolled his eyes. Shoko was confused as she asked.
"Well can't you go without a boyfriend?"
"My cousin will kill and embarrass me. She's done it in the past so I'd rather avoid that."
Haibara patted your shoulder with comfort, having known and met your cousin once before. As Shoko scratched her head, understanding how dire the circumstances were, Satoru had a big grin on his face as he brushed his fingers in his white locks.
"You know if you need someone to pretend-"
Suguru smiled smugly whilst cutting in.
"No offence Satoru, you are the last person she should pick as a fake boyfriend."
"What are you talking about? I'd make a great boyfriend."
Shoko piqued in as she snatched Satoru's goggles off his face and put them on her face.
"Hi! I'm Satoru Gojo and I'm a wannabe model! Bet you never met a person with silky grey hair and bright ocean-like blue eyes!"
Suguru snickered while Satoru's face grew red. He took his glasses and returned them to his face whereas (Y/N) patted his shoulder to apologise.
"I'm sorry 'Toru but she would see right through you."
"She's right. That's why I'm the better choice, Satoru. Isn't that right, Pretty Woman?"
Suguru grinned smugly as he took (Y/N)'s hand and kissed the back of it. As if to persuade her that he was the better man to take on the role. (Y/N) awkwardly bared her teeth as she pulled her hand away to wipe off his kiss.
"I'm sorry Sugu but you're not even a better choice. You would scare half my family with those gauges and tattoos."
This made a sad pout appear on Suguru's face as he exhaled.
"That's hurtful. But wouldn't that also be a big fuck you to your cousin? I'd treat you so well."
"It would and you might but let's also not forget last year's party where your quote-unquote girlfriends dropped by to accuse you of being a slut."
This time Satoru and Shoko snickered whereas Suguru raised an unimpressed eyebrow. Haibara had a constipated expression on his face as he listened to this conversation.
"Your point?"
"I don't want to have to run into another set of girls who claim you were the best night of their lives."
"I'm not that big of a slut."
At that moment they all deadpanned at Suguru's words and Satoru flailed his hands to gesture.
"Says the one who was the most popular one in high school."
Suguru glared at Satoru before huffing with reluctant agreement. Then his eyes furrowed and snapped to Haibara, almost accusatory. Even Shoko raised an eyebrow at Haibara.
"Don't tell me that Haibara is your choice!"
(Y/N) rolled her eyes before resting her hands on her hips. Haibara nervously shook his head.
"I've already met her family so they're not gonna believe I'm her boyfriend."
Which leads everyone to think and ask themselves, who? At that moment a weary face and blonde hair walked up to the group, his eyes narrowed and arms crossed tight across his blue buttoned chest. He cleared his throat which made everyone stand up attentively.
"What's going on here and why is it a mess?"
Satoru, Suguru and Shoko quickly scuttled away from (Y/N) leaving her to face their grumpy team leader, Kento Nanami. Only a few months older than her and was brought onto the company as the team leader. She didn't even want to talk to Nanami as she sent a glare to her other co-workers that abandoned her.
"Nothing, Mr. Nanami. Just received a package."
Nanami exhaled as he watched his co-worker clear the rubbish on her table and toss the box underneath her desk. Haibara returned to his cubicle as Nanami took a safe step close to (Y/N), hoping that she would just take a look at him.
"(Y/N)?"
"What Mr. Nanami?"
The glare she gave him was a mixture of hot and cold, both scalding Nanami's heart. He had a pained expression on his face as she glared. Ever since he started working in the company for over a year now, she had been nothing but hostile. He tried to give a soft smile before he quietly spoke.
"What time are you meant to finish today?"
"What's it to you?"
If it were anyone else, Nanami would have taken managerial action and ensured that the person received a disciplinary warning, for their behaviour. His heart was always weak against (Y/N) as he let her talk harshly to him. He didn't know how to say his next words because she was going to flip. He let out a short puff of breath before going ahead with his words.
"Daadi invited me for dinner. Said she had something important to discuss."
At that moment, (Y/N) stopped typing before slowly craning her head to thoroughly examine Nanami's face for a joke. It wasn't and she almost shivered in grief. Why? Her Daadi (Grandma) loved Nanami for many reasons and it irked her whenever Daadi would mention the man. But today seemed to have crossed the limit as she frowned.
Right now she needed to get rid of Nanami so she creased her face into an awkward smile. For now she'll have to engage in a short conversation that will drive him away.
"Ah. Well you can go ahead and have dinner with her. I got a lot of work to finish off -"
"I didn't set any deadlines. You can push that off for tomorrow. She insists that I get you to come on time for dinner."
"As if…"
Her words died in her throat as Nanami pulled out his phone to show the messages that Daadi had sent. It was true. Daadi had invited Nanami and she had stressed the fact that (Y/N) needed to come home on time. She couldn't believe that Daadi had gotten Nanami's phone number and he had hers saved.
At that moment, a loud ring sounded from the cubicle next to them as Haibara answered the phone. Nanami and (Y/N)'s ears perked up as they leaned around the cubicle. The first words that caught their attention was 'Hello Daadi!' They silently watched Haibara have a conversation before hanging up the phone and nervously smiling at the two people in front of him.
"Erm … you heard that huh? Looks like I'm joining you guys for dinner as well."
(Y/N) scoffed as she folded her arms muttering.
"Funny how she didn't call-"
As if the comedic timing wasn't enough, her own phone rang to which her face scrunched up in agony before answering her phone, in Hindi.
"Hi Daadi. How are you?"
"I'm doing good. You're coming home today for dinner?"
She glared at Nanami as she feigned her whining.
"I'm really sorry Daadi but-"
"If you finish that sentence, I will come to your office and drag you by the ear. Are you asking to get smacked?"
"Daadi!"
"I don't want any excuses. You have to come home for dinner. And bring Kento and Haibara with you."
Before (Y/N) could get a word in, Daadi had cut the call. All (Y/N) could do was angrily pout before massaging her forehead and muttering.
"Did she tell you what time we have to get there?"
"By six thirty."
~~~~
After a gruelling two hours, it was time for everyone to go home. (Y/N) was rushing to pack her things which surprised Haibara as he watched her scrambling to get paperwork together.
"Why are you in a rush? I thought you didn't want to go to dinner?"
"I still don't. But I also don't want to get a lift with Nanami."
Haibara's smile was askew as he watched her leaned down to pick up her parcel, before she shoved it in his hands for him to hold. She sat down on her chair to take off her nude heels and switch them for some black trainers.
(Y/N) rushed up and grabbed Haibara's wrist to yank him away from their cubicles and to the lift. It was just about to close but before her hand could cut in to prevent the doors from closing, Nanami's hand cut in. He had reached the doors the same time as them which was unfortunate for (Y/N) as she gritted her teeth before gesturing for Nanami to get in.
The blond man didn't budge and stood firm where he was which irked (Y/N) even more. Decidedly, she stomps into the lift, followed by Haibara and Nanami. There was silence in the lift, the two men didn't say a word out of fear that they might make their co-worker explode.
The lift finally arrived on the ground floor, the lift doors were slowly opening but (Y/N) didn't hesitate in pushing through the doors. Haibara gave Nanami a torn sheepish smile before following after her. She was about to swipe her card to open the gate when a loud thunderstorm echoed before a sudden heavy shower began to downpour.
She screeched rather angrily, unable to believe her rotten luck as she huffed at Haibara.
"We are gonna have to run to the bus stop."
"Or you can just take a lift with me."
Nanami stood there with an unimpressed expression on his face and arms folded. His dark waterproof long coat made him look much more bulky and taller. (Y/N) was about to open her mouth to refuse when Haibara beamed with a happy smile.
"Yep I'm good with that. Let's go!"
Holding her parcel in one hand, Haibara grabbed onto (Y/N)'s wrist, almost dragging her to the car. What should have been a quick five minute walk felt like a ten minute stretch as (Y/N) grumbled utter aggressive nonsense to herself all the way until they got into the car.

The table was finally set as Daadi laid out plates for four people. The dishes were still hot in a hotpot, and she finally got to take a look at the clock. They were ten minutes late which made Daadi frown and take her phone out to see if there were any messages. There were none which made Daadi worry, her fingers ready to dial them.
A pair of keys jingled in the lock which made Daadi sigh with relief, rushing to the door to see a slightly soaked (Y/N) carrying a box and a completely dry Haibara and Nanami. She was confused, unsure of whether to greet or comment but (Y/N) simply greeted first.
"Hey Daadi. Sorry we're late."
"Why are you wet?"
"I forgot to take an umbrella and I didn't want to share with Nanami. Also Haibara and your precious Nanami are the reason we're late."
Nanami stepped forward with a warm smile, presenting her with a bouquet of violet dahlias. Daadi's heart swelled with love as she took the flowers to smell, a deep rich scent enveloped her nose as she gave Nanami a hug and a pull on his cheek.
"You didn't have to bring anything, you silly boy."
Nanami grinned as he held Daadi's hand close to his heart, squeezing it to show his adoration.
"I wanted to, Daadi. It's always a delight to come see you and I knew you'd want a new bouquet for your kitchen windowsill."
"Ah you know me very well Kento."
(Y/N) rolled her eyes as she toed off her shoes, dropping her parcel on a small side table. Nanami had taken off his jacket and hung it on the stair pole. Going into the kitchen to put the flowers in a vase for Daadi. Haibara grinned widely as he presented Daadi with a box of her favourite pastries.
"Haibara! You also didn't have to-"
"Nonsense Daadi! This is nothing compared to the amount of times you've given me birthday money and gifts. They're your favourite: almond croissants."
Daadi also pulled Haibara's cheek before Haibara took the pastry box to put in the fridge. (Y/N) wasn't surprised that Daadi walked after them to get their dinner served, specifically Nanami. She hated the fact that Daadi and Nanami had grown closer.
When Nanami first started working in the company, (Y/N) tried her hardest to make sure that Daadi would never find out but the old woman was smart to know something was up. She popped into the office one day and bumped into Nanami. They reconnected instantly and (Y/N) was left watching this friendship bloom.
Taking off her wet clothes, rinsing them and putting them in the washing machine. She started the cycle and went to her room to put on a dark grey long sleeve and light grey tracksuit bottoms. She took a small towel and dried her jet black hair before tossing the towel in a hamper in the bathroom.
She came downstairs to see Nanami, Daadi and Haibara sitting in seats, their plates empty in front of them, waiting for her to sit and eat with them. Daadi smiled before standing up to serve all of them. She lifted the lids to show the three dishes made: potato spinach curry and butter chicken. Nanami and Haibara's respective favourites as their mouths salivate.
Once their plates were made, everyone began to eat, Nanami and Haibara had a naan next to them, breaking off a piece and scooping some of the curry onto the bread. Nanami and Haibara had eaten Daadi's food many times and they knew the proper way to eat.
Opting for a light option, (Y/N) served herself some rice and poured a serving spoon of butter chicken. She grabbed a tablespoon and mixed it together, taking the first bite. There was nothing that Daadi wasn't good at as (Y/N) hummed happily at her meal. Relaxing and glad to be home, until Nanami opened his mouth.
"Daadi, it is incredible as always."
"I took extra special care in the potato and spinach curry, since it's your favourite."
Haibara hummed as well as he licked the sauce with his fingers.
"And this butter chicken is creamier and nuttier than last time?"
"Yes, I'm glad you noticed Haibara."
(Y/N) cleared her throat before taking a large sip of water. Taking advantage of the silence she decided to talk about the first important thing which was her cousin, Tina's wedding.
"So Daadi, I received an interesting package today. A wedding invitation."
"I know. I received the same this morning."
"Did you know that Tina was getting married?"
Daadi hummed mindlessly, continuously eating her food.
"Not really, no. But when I called Payal this morning, she said that the boy's in a rush to get married as he has to return to America. That's why the wedding invite is so sudden."
(Y/N) rolled her eyes as she continued to eat. However her Daadi's next words made her drop her spoon on her plate, her anger bubbling and slowly rising up.
"They want us to come as soon as possible to help out with the wedding prep. Said that she could use your help to negotiate with vendors."
Haibara and Nanami shared an apprehensive expression, feeling a little awkward that they were hearing this conversation. Daadi trusted them whereas (Y/N) was panicking at the sudden change in plans. Mainly how she was going to find a boyfriend this sudden.
"Daadi I'm not going to be able to get my holidays approved so soon."
Daadi rolled her eyes as she gestured to the blonde haired man sitting on her right.
"It's partly the reason why I called Kento." She turned to Nanami with a pleading smile. "Please Kento. I'm sorry but I hope you understand that she needs these days off."
Kento gave a polite nod as he grabbed a napkin to clean his mouth and hands, taking a sip of water and answering.
"Don't worry Daadi, I understand. I'll have someone cover her work for however much time she needs off."
It was no surprise to (Y/N) that Nanami said yes. Whatever Daadi says, he does. Though he might have done the same with (Y/N), he lets her get away with murder. Daadi had a big grin on her face, glad that she was able to sort that out before she snapped her fingers as if remembering something else.
"Ah, also for Haibara and yourself."
(Y/N) felt like she lost all feeling in her body. Did she just say for Haibara and Nanami? What the fuck was going on? An almost fire-like rage burned in her eyes as her words forcefully pushed through her teeth.
"What do you mean Daadi?"
Daadi remained cool, having been used to her granddaughter's tantrums as she turned to Haibara.
"Well, I'm sorry it seems last minute but you are invited to the wedding. You are family and we simply cannot have a wedding without you."
Haibara smiled and bowed graciously before his smile dropped.
"Are you sure that's okay Daadi?"
"Yes, don't worry! Payal won't mind."
(Y/N) flared in anger as she spoke a bit louder, more pissed off at the fact that Daadi was ignoring her.
"Daadi! What do you mean?"
Even Nanami was confused as to why he needed to get holidays as he opened his mouth, also asking the same questions but softly and calmly. Daadi exhaled, knowing her next words will set off (Y/N).
"Before I cut the call, Tina came on and said that she couldn’t wait to meet you and your boyfriend too."
Nanami's eye twitched and furrowed suspiciously as he sat up straighter, which took (Y/N) by surprise because he was often aloof, wearing his heart on a sleeve whenever (Y/N) was around. Haibara was munching on his food, savouring the taste and not putting much input because he would be the next target for (Y/N)'s wrath.
"Now, I know you don't have a boyfriend-"
"You don't know that-"
Daadi scoffed and raised an eyebrow which made (Y/N) be quiet. There was no getting past the old woman.
"I know Tina has put you in a bind but the solution is right opposite you (Y/N)."
Just now she felt an icy chill crawl up her spine and freeze her every single movement. Her brain simply shut down as her eyes narrowed in on the brown eyes and ugly leopard print tie. Haibara finished off his plate and hid behind his naan, not wanting to be caught in the crosshairs.
Daadi's face remained stoically cool, almost alert because the minute her granddaughter was going to act up, she was going to shut the attitude down. But Nanami was shocked the most, by far this was the most eccentric thing that Daadi has ever done.
"Why Nanami?"
"Because you have history. He knows you well and I trust him to look after you."
One minute. Two minutes. Five minutes passed as (Y/N) exhaled, mulling over what Daadi had said. It's true, they had history, but that was almost thirteen years ago, when they both were 14. They only dated for a few months before … that happened. She shuddered at the memory before coming back to the present, unable to comprehend what Daadi had just proposed.
She abruptly stood up and took her plate to the kitchen, having lost the appetite and feeling numb. It was like her life was out of her hands as she scraped off the uneaten rice and curry into the bin.
She felt a hand on her shoulder as she tried so hard to pinch her eyes, preventing her tear ducts from welling up and then came Daadi's soft voice.
"(Y/N), I suggested him because I know he will be there for you in ways I might not be able to."
"If you say you're gonna die, Daadi-"
Her grandmother rolled her eyes and slapped (Y/N)'s shoulder, scolding.
"I'm not dying you silly girl. I just know Kento will help you keep a level head."
Her fists clenched tight as she took shaky breaths before going over to the sink to splash cool water on her face. If they didn't have that awkward past, Nanami was the perfect choice. But the way she treated him, she wouldn't be surprised if he refused.
Her eyes widened in shock and her face twitched at the thought of already accepting Nanami as a choice. As much as she wanted to say she was at a crossroads, the truth was, deep down she felt obliged to follow Daadi's request. If she didn't, she would have had this nagging feeling of regret.
Finally shaking off her depressed disposition, she straightened her back and spun around to face her Daadi.
"Fine. I'll take Nanami. But will he even agree?"
~~~~
"I hope we're not too late."
(Y/N) pushed the bridge of her sunglasses down her nose as Nanami and Haibara reached the two of them. Nanami had a more dressed down look with a navy polo shirt and grey slacks. Haibara had gone with jeans and a print t-shirt which had a dragon on the front.
Daadi waved her hand as if to brush off their excuse before she greeted the two men. They were in the airport arrivals lounge, just getting ready to board the plane. The weather in Japan was slightly warm so they could relax without jackets and coats.
Nanami took a minute to admire (Y/N), the woman was staring down her phone, texting something whilst holding onto her hand carry. Looking pretty in a tweed print quarter length trousers and white t-shirt. He was glad that her sunglasses were on her nose because he could see her eyes that he got lost in for the first time they met.
It was nearly thirteen to fourteen years ago when they first met. She was a new student joining their class, the last year of junior high. Her eyes darted around like an alert panicked deer, nervous to see how everyone else would perceive her.
Her big brown eyes which reminded him of the crackling camp fires, felt like a warm heater heating his face on a cold day. It was just Nanami's luck that the seat next to him was empty as she waddled down the line and sat down next to him.
Since she had just started, he shuffled his desk closer to share his history textbook with her. He looked down to hide his eyes behind his fringe, softly muttering.
"'M Kento Nanami."
"(Y/N) Aggarwal."
The youthful hue in her cheeks made her radiant in the cold day, she felt like a warm cosy fireplace as the two of them shuffled closer to read the textbook. Their fingers brushed and that was the moment they fell for each other.
From then on they spent most of the break times together, getting to know one another and connecting on a basic level. They were 14, the most they could do was hang out. Sometimes they went bowling or to an arcade, even Haibara would join them as well.
(Y/N) had brought Nanami to the house to meet Daadi and her mother. Nanami was instantly welcomed as the two women fed and cared for him as if he were their own child. They surprisingly approved of the relationship, especially seeing how Nanami took care of her. Then again, they were modern thinking women.
What was a lit match, became a spark and now a gentle warming fire as Nanami held (Y/N)'s hand. The two of them were sitting next to a tree in the school courtyard, their faces naturally drew close. Whilst (Y/N)'s eyes fluttered close to feel his kiss, he kept his eyes slightly open, so that he could cherish the memory of sharing their first kiss together.
~~~~
This was only the start to what would be a long nightmare as (Y/N) took a sip of water. Her Bua (Aunt) Payal, held a small dinner party to introduce the boy that was going to marry Tina. Everyone was seated at the dinner table: her Bua Payal, cousins Karan, Tina, Jhanvi, Tina's fiancee Harpreet, Nanami, Haibara and Daadi.
A mixture of curries and chutneys were served on the table as everyone helped themselves. Harpreet was in the middle of conversing in English with Nanami and Haibara.
"So … have you ever been to America?"
Nanami politely shook his head.
"Can't say that I have, no."
"Well if you'd ever like a visit, come to New York City. I have good contacts to get you a job there. They pay six figures and provide accommodation as well. If you want, I can hook you up with someone. I'm sure you'd do way better than where you are now."
Nanami smiled as he took a bite of food.
"I appreciate the offer but will have to kindly decline. I have loved ones close by that I'd like to stay close with."
When saying 'loved ones' his eyes briefly darted over to (Y/N) which made her blink blankly. Daadi smirked behind her glass while Payal and Tina smiled as Tina spoke.
"But seriously like … how did this happen? I thought you would turn up here without a boyfriend. Don't tell me you hired him!"
(Y/N) pursed her lips as her head grew hot in anger. Daadi frowned and put her glass down to scold her other granddaughter.
"Tina. Is this how you talk to your cousin?"
"Daadi, I'm only joking. Right (Y/N)?"
(Y/N) widened her smile but it had no mirth or joy, only bitterness.
"Yes of course. And to answer your question, no I did not hire him. We met at work."
Tina scoffed, almost carelessly waving her glass around. Everyone else was eating and listening to the conversation carefully.
"Met at work? That's such a basic answer."
(Y/N) opened her mouth to rebut but Nanami stepped in, his gaze focused on (Y/N). Like he somehow knew he needed to bring her back.
"Sometimes the most basic things can mean so much. When I first walked into work, I noticed her working in her cubicle. My heart had stopped. Like I had found the person I'd been searching my whole life for.
"But I needed to do whatever I could to be with her the moment I saw her eyes."
(Y/N) felt herself get drawn into Nanami's eyes, a similar shade to her own. She felt like she had travelled back in time as Nanami's face morphed into his younger self. She hadn't realised it but Nanami had grown up in so many years. His face had matured a lot but his eyes were still the same.
His usual cool stoic demeanour had shattered before her and she was seeing the Nanami she knew when she was young. Or had he always been like this but she only noticed now. The side of his hand brushed against hers slightly but she took the leap to interlace her fingers with his.
She heard someone clear their throat which made her snap out of her daydream, snatching her hand away as she straightened her posture. Tina's eyes narrowed as she was unable to believe the chemistry between her cousin and her 'boyfriend'.
Haibara and Daadi shared a knowing, almost scheming look. Payal grinned as she clapped her hands.
"Oh that is romantic. Then maybe we'll have another marriage to plan soon."
(Y/N) almost choked on her food at her aunt's words but Nanami quietly took a sip of his drink, grinning at the joke.
~~~~
The wedding prep was done and now she could finally relax. If she had the energy, she would have throttled her cousin and ran her over with a car. Twice. Everything was down to (Y/N), from organising decorations to outfits and colours, haggling with fat Indian men and negotiating to her wits end.
Even her poor Daadi was put to work as she helped with the venue and catering organisation. (Y/N) would be up at six am in the morning, coming home at two am. With only four, sometimes three and half hours of sleep.
The only highlight of the day was that she'd come home to a steaming cup of spiced tea that would rejuvenate her, making her feel warm and alive. Daadi got home earlier than she did, so she was endeared by the fact that her Grandmother took time to make her tea.
Being busy didn't give her a chance to connect with Nanami. Apparently Tina boasted about the fact that she got to show Nanami around Mumbai, which made her blood boil at the audacity of her cousin. After five days of gruelling work, she was able to come home early, and she completed everything just in time for the Mehndi ceremony tomorrow.
She was desperate for a nice shower and that hot cup of spiced tea. It was about 11pm and surprisingly the house was quiet. Everyone had probably slept early because of the Mehndi. There was some rustling in the kitchen as she crept in, stunned to see the familiar blond shaggy hair.
"Nanami?"
He turned around, a little surprised as he stirred a cup of tea, placing it on a saucer and pushing it in front of (Y/N).
"Hey. Finished early?"
Her eyes dropped down to the cup of tea in front of her, wisps of steam floated in the air and in the direction of her nostrils. It had the strong notes of cinnamon and ginger. She gave a nod and a hum, for once being too tired to even be bitter and angry.
"I did. Everything is set for the next two days."
A smile came on his lips as he came around to lead (Y/N) to the dining table, before placing the saucer in front of her. He took a seat opposite her, speaking softly.
"You did well."
Her lips twitched at the soft praise he was giving her before her eyes zoomed into the cup in front of her. Feeling parched, she brought her palms around the cup, blowing at the top before taking a sip. It was the same tea she had been having for five days, her eyes lifted up to Nanami.
"Did … you make this?" He gave a nod which prompted her to ask another question. "Have you been making tea for me the last few days?"
Once again he gave a nod, almost nervous to see how she would react. But to his surprise, her face cracked to show a smile, her eyes fluttered to connect with him for the first time, softly murmuring. "Thank you."
She was beyond touched by his gesture as she finished her cup of tea. Her hands pushed forward to give him the cup and his fingers brushed with hers when grabbing the cup. For once, she let her anger dissipate as her index finger stroked his.
Maybe she was too tired but she felt soft at this moment, warmed by Nanami. He waited patiently to let her take her time, to come forward and he was rewarded with her holding his hand. Whilst last time was emotionless, just a show in front of the family. This one was intimate and sacred.
Somehow he could feel her genuineness which made this moment all the more special. The years of walls she had built with Nanami in mind, began to crumble slowly. The slightly older man exhaled softly as he decided to go a baby step further to ask.
"If we get a chance, maybe after the wedding, we could go sightseeing around the city."
She flinched slightly as she recalled her cousin's words, incredulous she couldn't help but ask.
"Didn't Tina show you around?"
"No. She was stubborn and tried to force me to go but I stood my ground. I made myself a promise, years ago, that if I were to go to India. I would only go with you. I will always wait for you."
In that moment the walls collapsed as his words echoed, not missing the double meaning in his last sentence she gave a nod promising to take him around the city.
~~~~
"Kento, can you check on (Y/N) and see if she's okay? We need to leave now."
Nanami gave a nod to Daadi before trudging up the stairs to the bedroom that (Y/N) was getting ready in. Daadi fixed the sleeves of her blouse, straightening the pleats of her sari. Haibara raised an eyebrow, his hand up to point in the direction that Nanami went in.
"I just checked on her when I went to the bathroom. She said that she was just putting her outfit on."
Daadi gave a steady grin and Haibara noticed this. His eyes went up the stairs before going back to Daadi, his brain worked a bit before he finally put two and two together. He shook his head in a small laugh, giving an impressed grin but curious what the move is.
"I think I see where you're going with this but what will Nanami help with?"
Daadi shrugs. "Maybe an anklet, an earring or her blouse."
Haibara let out a scandalised gasp which made the older woman throw her head back in laughter before tugging his cheek. Meanwhile Nanami had just reached the bedroom door, knocking and asking.
"Are you ready?"
"Just a minute, just stuck with this blouse."
Nanami scratched his head nervously as he was about to turn to call for Daadi when he heard her yelp. Immediately his eyes widened as he knocked on the door harder. After a few minutes of silence, he heard the lock unclick, the door opened to reveal an embarrassed looking (Y/N).
Last night was a fluke. She had let her walls down in front of Nanami because she was exhausted. This time she put them back up so tightly that he couldn't even try to wiggle his way into her heart. She stepped aside to let Nanami in, taking in the fact that there was a bedspread on the floor and one on a slightly elevated bed.  The room he shared with Haibara was nothing like this as he pointed out to the spread on the floor.
"Who's sleeping there?"
"That's me. Daadi's got a bad back so she's sleeping on the charpai."
After tonight he was going to swap rooms with her so that both she and Daadi could get a better night's rest. For now, he began to examine her for a wound.
"I heard you squeal."
She narrowed her eyes as she corrected Nanami about the fact that she yelped. Her eyes then darted around the floor as she whispered.
"Look, I thought I saw a cockroach."
The man stilled for a minute, looking from the floor to (Y/N) then the floor again. Surprised that she was the kind to get scared by an insect as he almost deadpanned.
"A cockroach."
"Indian cockroaches are different. These are huge dickheads that can fly."
"Right. How long are you gonna take to get dressed?"
"I'm done, just stuck with trying to tie the blouse up tightly."
Nanami's eyes almost popped out of their sockets as he finally took in the fact that she was wearing a traditional Indian dress, a lehenga. The skirt was a lemony yellow with silver sequins and embroidery and it contrasted nicely with her sea blue full sleeve blouse.
She needed to dress more like this as Nanami tried to block out the indecent thoughts. (Y/N) went to her vanity mirror and turned around to see her back in the mirror. He almost lost his mind at the large expanse of her back. Sure enough the back of the blouse undone as he watched her struggle for a few good minutes before he huffed.
Strutting over and ordering her to turn around. She's about to refuse but her mouth zips tight when he pivots her body round, bringing his fingers up to lace up the blouse, pulling and tugging slightly before tying a tight little bow at the bottom.
"There. Now we can -"
"Can you get the cockroach before we go? I don't want to come back and it's still there."
Nanami shook his head as he brought an arm around her shoulder, silently urging her to get a move on as they were now running late for the mehndi ceremony.
"Don't bother. Haibara and I will swap rooms with you and Daadi."
"But-"
"Please. You shouldn't sleep on the floor anyways."
(Y/N) shut her mouth which was a silent indication that she agreed with Nanami's request. He dropped her arm and gave her space to walk forward. She subconsciously brought her hand to her shoulder, already missing the slight warmth that emanated from his hand.
Finally, they got into the car and drove to the venue, where the party was still having a few guests trickle in. It was a huge hall with cream curtains covering the walls, ambient blue and yellow flood lights were dotted across the room giving it a sort of cloudy glow.
The stage was set with ornate gold sofa chaises and embroidered deep lime green cushioning. There was a backdrop arch with vines lopping around it, and lily flowers drooping off. The tables and chairs had matching shades of green. It seemed like everything went well and she was glad that her aunt was happy to take on maintaining the beauty and event.
Nanami's eyes dazzled at the intricate beautiful decorations, leaning into (Y/N)'s ear.
"Your hard work has paid off. Everything looks stunning."
(Y/N)'s lips twitched with a threat of a smile before she cleared her throat, spotting Tina and Harpreet on stage, with her Bua Payal. She turned to Daadi, gently placing a hand on her arm.
"Daadi, should we go on stage?"
"Yes, let's go. Kento, Haibara come with."
The two women walked forward followed by Nanami and Haibara, they went up the three steps before Harpreet and Tina acknowledged Daadi and (Y/N). Tina looked lovely in her bright yellow garara, its stole was draped over her head. Harpreet had on a matching shade sherwani kurta and turban.
Nanami and Haibara shook Harpreet's hand to congratulate him while Daadi and (Y/N) embraced Tina. A photographer approached them and requested they get into position, the to-be-weds took centre stage with Nanami and (Y/N) to their right and Daadi and Haibara to the left.
Nanami's hand wavered, unsure of where to put his hand but a frustrated (Y/N) grabbed his hand and placed it on her hip. His fingers brushed against her bare side and waist of the lehenga. The picture was quick and Nanami was surprised when (Y/N) stomped away, once again confused about what he did to annoy her.
(Y/N) needed to stay away from Nanami as her heart panged with an unknown feeling. Whatever it was, it always happened with him and it was best if she was away from him. But it wasn't the best idea because it made her bump into different relatives, all of whom were shocked by the news that she was dating.
Maasi (Aunty) Khirron and Ganga were two gossips with tightly banaras red and blue saris. Looking more like wedding crashers than actual wedding guests. As if her day wasn't bad enough, she plastered a happy fake grin.
"Maasi! It's so nice to see you."
"It's nice to see you too! How long has it been, nearly thirteen years ago? At your mum's funeral right?"
(Y/N) flinched but bared it because she knew that these women didn't have any well wishes. They just spoke out of their ass most of the time so she gave a simple nod, which encouraged the women to natter away.
"Yes that's it. My dear (Y/N), your mother was a wonderful woman."
"Truly wonderful."
"She was taken too early."
"Too early! And it's such a shame she didn't get to see her daughter grow up."
It was coming, their snide backhanded comments.
"Yes! She didn't get to see her daughter grow up to be beautiful."
"And the biggest thing is that she didn't even get to see (Y/N) get married and have children."
There it was, she exhaled rather loudly, readying to take a step away before Maasi Ganga latched onto her arm like a constrictor snake. The two women were nattering away as they went further with their comments. Oblivious to the fact that (Y/N) was trying to get away quickly.
"But I wonder what she would say if she found out that her daughter was dating?"
"And that a white man?"
They were looking for a reaction, anything just to prod at the slow burning ire but she took a deep exhale and exhale. She knew how best to respond as she smirked whilst staring dead straight at Nanami.
"Well she would be proud of me because I found a man that takes good care of me. Especially in bed."
The aunties dramatically gasped, making their talkative traps open as (Y/N) found a way to move away from them. She rubbed circles at her temple as she stomped away only to bump into a younger boy with an afro and toothy grin.
It was her cousin's ridiculous neighbour's son, Mahesh took in her outfit and catcalled.
"I knew it was you (Y/N). You look beautiful."
"What do you want Mahesh? I got to go."
"Hey please. Can't I admire my future bride?"
(Y/N) scoffed as she dropped her hands to her waist. This boy was asking to be ripped a new one as she quirked an eyebrow.
"I don't date prepubescent boys."
"But I'm 18 now so technically a legal adult now."
Mahesh wiggled his eyebrows which did not impress (Y/N). She rolled her eyes and was about to strut away from him when he grabbed her wrist.
"Where are you going, gorgeous? Dance with me a little."
There was only one way to deal with this and this was being direct. She snapped to him, stepping close and leaning over him like a giant. (There was only a few inches difference in height but (Y/N) was taller).
"Get three things through your thick skull: one, you are not my type, two you are way too young and an idiot and three, I have a boyfriend. Do not approach me again or I'll break your hand."
Yanking her hand out of his grip and shoving him as a way to drill the message in. It didn't take long for her to weave through the crowd and finally approach the bar where most of the uncles had gathered. Big mistake, she rolled her eyes to order a coke when two older men approached her. One was Chacha (Uncle) Satish, her father and Bua Payal’s younger brother, the other was a rather young bearded man with a turban. Chacha Satish raised a glass of whiskey to her.
“(Y/N)! It is good to see you! How goes in China?”
Chacha Satish was an idiot with a lack of cultural awareness and terrible English. That seemed to be a running theme in her family as she bit her bottom lip before widening her smile.
“Chacha Satish! It’s good to see you too! And I don’t know how it’s going in China because I don’t live there.”
Chacha Satish tapped his forehead as if he was being silly.
“Ah yes, I forget. Where you live?”
“Japan.”
Chacha Satish and the turban man gave a nod as Chacha Satish gestured at the man next to him.
“This my good friend's son, Dheeraj Chaddha Singh. He own big business and has degree in engineering."
Chacha Satish leaned into her ear and it was difficult to repress a gag at the stench of his breath. It was onions and whiskey which was a vile combination. "He no married and he will be good husband."
It was like someone had crushed her mind with a heavy weight as Chacha Satish stepped back with a smug grin. His maroon sherwani buttons were struggling to hold on near his stomach which made her want to punch him in the gut. Just so she could embarrass him the way he just did now.
"Chacha. I have a boyfriend."
But Chacha barked a laugh as his head reared back. His drink sloshed and he stumbled slightly which made Dheeraj immediately hold on to his arm to balance him. It was a mistake being here and she might have been better off with Nanami.
"Who? That English man? Tina told me that's your boss and the other one is your friend from college."
"Chacha he is not English. He is mostly Japanese and a little bit Danish. And Tina is wrong."
Chacha frowned in confusion, raising a hand as if to ask what kind of combination this was. Though he then waved his hand to wave away her words as if she sidetracked the conversation.
"Anyways, Dheeraj is best guy. Big family. And What do you call a car dealership in English?”
“A car dealership?”
Chacha Satish blinked before giving a nod and blindly agreeing.
“Yes that. He want to open one in Japan. You two get married and you can open shop in Japan.”
“Chacha, I-”
“You give him money from your job. He open shop then you leave your job. Anyways, you will have to leave your job to raise your kids.”
(Y/N) had an incredulous expression on her face as she scoffed, tilting her head and folding her arms. What exactly did her uncle think she does for work? And how dare he offer up a stranger for her to marry? And further suggest that she leave her job and raise kids? She was gonna approach this tactfully.
“Chacha? What do you think I do for work?”
“You give money to people who want to open a business. Ah now I remember the name: an investor!”
“Chacha, I work for investors. I help manage their customers and their problems. I don’t give money to customers.”
This statement made Dheeraj Chaddha huff angrily as he jabbed an elbow into Chacha Satish’s side. Yanking him and almost loudly whispering into his ear.
"You told me she was rich."
"Forgive me, Dheeraj. I thought she was an investor not an … assistant."
Her nails dug into her palm, refraining from physically reacting.
"I'm not an assistant. I'm a client manager. I look after customers and company clients. And I earn extremely well for myself so even if I were an investor … I wouldn't invest in a disrespectful greedy lowlife."
Chacha Satish and Dheeraj gasped at her cruel words. Her uncle's nose flared up which was an ugly sight because he looked a lot like a pig. Only now she began to notice that whiskey was dribbling from the corner of his lip like a baby. Her uncle was not only mentally disgusting but physically as well.
"(Y/N), is this how you talk to guests? Ask for forgiveness right now."
"For what? I just said the truth. You're lucky I'm not asking you for forgiveness because you disrespected me."
"Me? Disrespect." Suddenly the argument took a turn as something dawned on his face. "You know what. You're right. I should ask for forgiveness."
He slapped his hands together and thrust them in her face, asking for 'forgiveness'.
"It's my fault. I didn't stop your father from giving you to your Daadi. You wouldn't have turned into a disrespectful dishonourable woman like-"
"Like who?"
Their conversation cut off at the sound of a new voice, (Y/N)'s facial expressions stuttered as the tall blonde man had cut in between them. His posture loomed over them, their skin began to ripple with goosebumps. His face drilled holes into Chacha Satish and Dheeraj, eyes narrowed and voice rather hoarse and menacing.
"Who were you going to compare her to?"
Dheeraj's eyes furrowed as he downed his drink and stumbled to shove Nanami at the shoulder.
"You're not involved in this conversation so stay out."
"Exactly my point. Who the fuck do you think you are?"
Chacha Satish frowned as he cleared his throat.
"I'm talking to my niece. I have a right to teach her right from wrong."
"Is that what it was? I heard you clearly admonish and disrespect her. Not only that but you were going to insult Daadi as well? Your own mother? Or … was it her mother? How revolting either way."
(Y/N) tugged Nanami's shoulder to avoid attention but the man barely budged as he raised an eyebrow and stepped closer, leaning into Satish’s ear to further threaten him.
"It is taking every cell in my body to refrain from killing you but I value my girlfriend and her grandmother's familial relationship. Consider yourself lucky."
Her uncle’s jaw dropped, opened and shut before he then scoffed, carelessly tossing his glass onto the bartop before shoving Dheeraj to move away from the blonde tall imposing man. Nanami’s eyes narrowed as he watched (Y/N)’s uncle and the other man walk away from them. His heart pumped vigorously as he glanced over his shoulder to see if (Y/N) was okay. It was the wrong move because he could feel the burn of anger radiating from her.
"Why the fuck did you do that?"
"Damage control."
Her mouth opened to scold him when instead the sudden heat flushed away, eyes widened in shock as her vision narrowed on an older man in the distance. The man with the same nose and face shape, his hair completely grey and dressed in a dark green sherwani and a white stole around his shoulders. Amongst the wedding planning, she had no time to recall the dark part of her past. The man who gave her up.
Her eyes darted around and almost immediately she spotted Daadi, the woman seemed to sense the same thing as she excused herself from the conversation she was having with a guest before immediately darting to where Nanami and (Y/N) were. Daadi grasped (Y/N)’s elbow as (Y/N) hissed.
“Daadi, what is he doing here?”
“It seemed that Tina invited him and neglected to tell us that.”
Nanami frowned in confusion before (Y/N) moved away from them to get Haibara. Daadi tapped her foot nervously which worried Nanami as he held onto her hand.
“Daadi? What happened? What’s going on?”
Daadi exhaled, rubbing her forehead.
“(Y/N)’s father is here. He … and (Y/N) are not on good terms.”
(Y/N) and Haibara reached them, all four of them were about to shift and leave the venue when Tina strutted up to them with (Y/N)’s father in tow. There was a smug expression on her face as she dramatically exclaimed.
“Arjun Maama! I’m so happy you agreed to come. Thank you! Oh, (Y/N)! Did you meet with Maama? How long has it been since you saw each other?”
Daadi, (Y/N) and Arjun blankly blinked, trying to look anywhere but at each other as Tina squealed.
“Ah! I’m so glad you guys get to reunite. Unfortunately I have to go and cut my cake.”
Tina walked off, having succeeded in creating an awkward atmosphere. While all the party guests were enjoying and conversing with one another, the people surrounding (Y/N) were silent. Nanami and Haibara shared apprehensive glances, unsure what to say and do. (Y/N)’s eyes narrowed at Arjun and Daadi was looking anywhere and everywhere..
Arjun rocked back and forth on his heels before swallowing the frog in his throat, pathetically smiling as he turned to Daadi.
"How … are you Mum?"
Daadi looked down, unable to look at anyone in the awkward situation. Arjun switched the conversation to Haibara.
"And Haibara. You … look just like your father."
Haibara frowned and folded his arms, not bothering to answer him. No one was responding to Arjun as he scratched at his head before noticing Nanami. He put a hand out to introduce himself.
"Hello. Tina told me that you're (Y/N)'s boss. I'm Arjun Aggarwal. Her father."
This triggered (Y/N) as she spat through gritted teeth.
"You're not my father. He died thirteen years ago."
Daadi and Arjun flinched from her violent words, he decided to pocket his hands. Nanami exhaled softly, unsure of how to go about this situation. Arjun's face softened as he gave a solemn nod.
"(Y/N), I … am so glad to see you."
"Are you really? Because the minute you were here, you ignored me and went straight to talking to Haibara, Daadi and Nanami."
His ears perked up at the sound of Nanami's name, looking at the tall blond man. Strangely his eyes watered before he returned to (Y/N).
"(Y/N) … I wish I could turn back time and fix my mistake. You don't know how much I regret leaving you."
"No you don't because if you did. You would have approached me a long time ago and taken me back home. Instead you dumped me into Daadi's hands."
People were slowly starting to get intrigued by the conversation that was brewing as Daadi tapped (Y/N) on the shoulder.
"Dear, I feel we should move this somewhere-"
"You don't get to say your regrets! You gave me up the moment when I needed you the most! Daadi was stuck taking care of me like her child when you should have done that."
Daadi dropped her hands and stepped back, deciding maybe it was best if her granddaughter let it all out. Haibara wrapped a comforting arm around her. Meanwhile Nanami cupped her shoulder to take her away from what was a brewing argument.
"(Y/N), this isn't the place-"
Arjun's heart pinched as he confessed.
"You are right but after your mother's death … I lost everything. I … lost half of myself. Seeing you everyday just reminded me of her. I … didn't want to lose you too, that's why I asked Daadi to take care of you."
"You weren't the only one who lost her. I lost my mother!"
(Y/N) was downright close to shouting and she was attracting more attention to herself. Unbeknownst to her, her face flushed with heat and her body trembled with anger. Everything was starting to bubble over as she stepped right into her father's face. Nanami looked around to see people looking over and he knew that it was time to cut off the conversation.
Nanami wrapped his arms around (Y/N) and began to drag her out of the event hall. This pissed her off more as she tried to escape Nanami's grasp to go back and argue with her father. Everyone had stopped what they were doing and stared straight ahead at the commotion.
Arjun was dejected and heartbroken as his eyes began to fill with tears, turning to face Daadi and Haibara.
"Ma. Please."
In that moment, Daadi could see the deep pools of regret and sorrow and soon the man in front of her morphed into her child. As much as she wanted to be angry for her grandchild, she couldn't. Seeing her son so vulnerable made her realise that he genuinely did regret his decision and it took a lot of difficulty to face his daughter. It was a decision he made with great difficulty.
Arjun stepped forward and placed his hands on Daadi's shoulder, sniffling and pleading.
"Ma, please. Please believe me. I truly want to say sorry. I … want to make things right."
Her heart lurched and weakened at her son, as she placed a tentative hand on his cheek. As quickly as she placed it, she pulled it away and went to follow Nanami and (Y/N). It was just Haibara and Arjun left as Arjun tried a one last attempt to get through.
"Haibara, please."
"Please what, Mr. Aggarwal?"
"I had to leave her with Daadi. I wouldn't have been able to take care of her in the state I was in. I would have lost her."
"You lost her the moment you gave her away. And she ended up losing herself because you weren't there to heal her. Who knows? She could have been there to take care of you too, Mr. Aggarwal."
And with that final nail in the coffin, Haibara stalked off to go after his friend. Leaving Arjun to stew in these final words.

What Happened in the Year Drabbles:
Meeting Megumi:
Megumi huffed and groaned in exasperation as he struggled to use his spoon to scoop some soup into his mouth. It has been two days since he was recovering from his recon mission. Megumi was doing routine checks on villages in the north, ensuring security was tight when he was attacked by a monster. This was an ugly tall monster with lots of drool and long legs, the young soldier struggled to subdue the monster with his skills and barely got away.
When he arrived at the palace, he informed Viscount Itadori, who then planned to take most of his men up north to eradicate the monsters. Nanami helped him into his room to rest and recuperate. Right now, he was struggling to eat some food which made him instantly give up and return the bowl onto his tray and move it to the foot of the bed. There was a knock on his door, annoyed at whoever was coming to disturb him.
“Megumi!”
He winced at the screechy voice as he took in the hyperenergetic pink haired mage. His posture straightened in surprise at the woman behind him, wearing a dark green dress and carrying herself with an air of elegance.
“What do you want?”
“I wanted to check on how you were doing! What kind of monster were you attacked by?”
“Shut up, Yuuji! Who’s that behind you?”
She was about to open her mouth when Yuuji cut in rather disappointedly.
“Not until you answer my question.”
Megumi glared at Yuuji but the young lady rolled her eyes and patted the pink haired man on the shoulder before taking a seat on the chair beside Megumi’s bed. Her eyes go over to the tray on the bed as she smiles softly at Megumi. There’s something about her that reminds him of someone close to him.
“My name is (Y/N).” She hesitated at the end, looking to Yuuji as if he could better explain who she was. Yuuji grinned as he gave a nod.
“She’s the new Viscountess."
Megumi raised a suspicious eyebrow, folding his arms and leaning back on his bed.
"When did this happen?"
Yuuji brought his fingers to count before smiling and answering.
"Four maybe five days ago."
Megumi furrowed his eyebrows before then asking.
"I thought he was meant to marry Lady Yorozu."
Yuuji smiled nervously, scratching at his head whereas (Y/N) straightforwardly answered.
"Duke Kenjaku tricked Viscount Itadori by making me pose as Lady Yorozu."
Megumi gave a nonchalant nod as (Y/N) turned to Yuuji to request that he excuse her and Megumi. Yuuji gave a nod and stepped out before it was just (Y/N) and Megumi. She exhaled looking at his tray and spoke.
"Was the soup not to your liking?"
Megumi pursed his lips and shook his head, unsure of whether to tell her the truth or to go with her assumption. She smiled and brought the tray on her lap, stirring it with a spoon.
"I used to make this soup for my brother whenever he was … unwell. I hoped it would do the same for you."
Megumi's shoulders sagged slightly as he shook his head, this time deciding to admit the truth.
"It would have been good if I could just get my strength up."
(Y/N) smiled softly and lifted the spoon up to Megumi’s mouth.
"If you're okay with it, I could help you eat."
Megumi opened his mouth cautiously, taking a bite and finally managing to savour the soup. It was sweet and nutty, being able to taste chicken, corn and egg. Something his sister would make as he glanced up at the young Viscountess. What did she want? (Y/N) smiled while stirring the soup and giving Megumi another spoonful.
"Truthfully Sir Fushiguro, I'm trying to atone for my inconvenience."
Megumi hadn't realised that he expressed his thoughts out loud but remained a neutral expression at her words. He couldn't well and truly judge what she was saying as he exhaled.
"Don't bother. You weren't the one who tricked Viscount Choso, Duke Kenjaku did. As long as you don't hurt anyone here, then there is no issue."
(Y/N) gave a nod and helped Megumi to finish his soup before she stood up with the tray in her hands.
"You remind me a lot of my brother. I just want to make sure that I do right and well by you, along with the other house members."
Just before she's about to go, Megumi calls out.
"Call me Megumi. You make me sound old like my Dad."
"Of course, Megumi."
(Y/N) left the room and Megumi couldn't help but let out a small soft smile. She reminded him a lot about his sister Tsumiki. Maybe Lady Itadori would be a beneficial addition to the Itadori House.
Meeting Locals:
It had been a month now since (Y/N) had grown accustomed to the House, coming to grips with her role as a Lady. It seemed that the training she would have given to Lady Yorozu (if she got married) became more useful for herself as she finished reading the final ledger from Viscount Itadori.
Kaprines was doing alright as a region but it had not given much value to the country of Alabria as she leant back on her study chair. She recently rearranged her office, to have an extra desk by the wall, full of parchment, paints and graphite. The window in the office also had a cushioned seat which made it easier to look out the window and sketch.
It had also been a month since she had stayed indoors, getting used to her place and she desperately wanted to go out and breathe some air, to go into the town and see what life was like for the inhabitants of Kaprines. After all, she was Viscountess Lady Itadori of Kaprines.
She gave a soft smile at Zachary, the raven was snoozing peacefully on a cushion on her desk, she brought a finger to stroke the back of his neck. (Y/N) wanted to keep Zachary close to her. Standing up, she went beside her office door to pull the golden cord which summoned Nanami to her office. Within a few minutes, there was a knock on her door before it opened to reveal Nanami.
The man was dressed in a simple dark blue shirt with a khaki coloured trouser and long jacket. He gave a short bow to the Lady.
"My Lady?"
"I've finished reading the last ledger but I had a few questions."
Nanami gave a nod as (Y/N) gestured for him to take a seat opposite her desk before she too sat down herself. The blonde man simply stood before her desk ignoring her offer which made (Y/N) roll her eyes.
"What would you like to know?"
"Has Kaprines contributed to Alabria in any way? For example, Scora is our biggest port which takes in imports from other nations; Chaycor produce steel and wool; Shiuh Shia have big agriculture, almost providing food for the country, Jotron has the best education and medicine provision and Lushijan is where most men train to become knights and soldiers."
Nanami nervously scratched the back of his head which seemed to answer her question. Something needed to be done to try to get Kaprines established and on the same level as the other regions.
"I mean, Kaprines has a mixture of those things but nothing that makes it stand out alone."
"Right. And what about the people? How do they feel about the Lord presiding over their state? Viscount Itadori wrote very little about them."
"As far as I know, we've not heard many issues from the towns. They're self-sufficient in what they do but I can be wrong. In terms of the ledgers, Viscount Itadori had to focus more on retaining stability as a household head.
"It took him a lot longer to be accustomed to being a Viscount, especially as he is used to being on the battlefield."
"I see. Finally, how many people exactly know who I am? And what have the people been told?"
Nanami stuttered as he counted in his head.
"In terms of the truth of how and why you're here: Me, Nobara, Megumi, Yuuji, Captain Tsukumo, Captain Fushiguro and Lord Itadori know. The other workers in the house have been told that Lord Itadori chose to marry you instead of Lady Yorozu. Everyone else has not been informed. That was Lord Itadori's job."
Nanami's face darkened as he stared down at the desk. Unfortunately Zachary was waking up at that moment and croaked loudly at the butler's face, flying up in panic before landing on his Lady's shoulder. (Y/N) pouted, patting her bird comfortingly and soothing him whereas Nanami snapped out of anger and apologised.
"I apologise, Zachary."
The raven bowed his head before flying down perching himself on her lap to receive pets and strokes.
"Right. In that case, I should be able to just visit the people without any hassle."
She lifted her bird to her eyes and informed Zachary to pass a message to Nobara and Megumi. The blonde haired butler stands up with surprise.
"My Lady?"
"What? Is there an issue with it?"
Nanami shook his head with a soft chuckle, opening the door to let the raven fly out and give a message.
"You're beginning to look a lot like the Lady of the house." (Y/N) gave a smile before Nanami continued, this time his tone was more serious. "Please do me a favour and keep Megumi and Nobara with you."
"I promise."
~~~~
"Why is it so quiet?"
(Y/N), Megumi and Nobara walked around the town square, taking in the very few people that were walking around. It looked like a ghost town. The roads weren't dilapidated so the town wasn't necessarily poorly kept. There just seemed to be no life and excitement.
"Kaprines has been like this as far as I know. There just isn't much to do."
The shopkeepers seemed bored out of their minds as (Y/N) glanced around. There was a lot that needed to be done before she came across a shop that was simply titled 'Hakari's'. With a frown, she entered the shop, after requesting Megumi and Nobara to wait outside, looking around to see odd bits of indistinguishable junk and books. There was a person sitting at the front counter, their eyes snapped up in surprise as they turned around and called.
"Kin! There's a customer!"
There was a trudging down the stairs before (Y/N)'s came across a man of average height, dressed almost like his manga counterpart. This was all new territory and the characters she knew were becoming different to what she knew prior. He was wearing black trousers and a brown fur coat, his hair was a pale purple.
He had a big grin on his face as his fingers stroked along his thin barely there moustache, before spinning his hand to give a flamboyant bow.
"Hello! I am Kinji Hakari and behind me is Kirara Hoshi. Call me Hakari. What brings a member of the Itadori House to my shop?"
(Y/N) glanced up with confusion at Hakari, unable to understand how Hakari knew that. The man simply grinned as he explained.
"I know nearly everyone in this town and you definitely aren't from here. Plus you have the house seal on that robe."
(Y/N) pinched her lips at her realisation as she lifted the hood off her head before introducing herself, deciding to go with her maiden name to avoid telling the truth.
"I'm (Y/N) Inumaki, working in the Itadori House. I'm new to Kaprines and simply just want to know why it looks so empty out there."
"Ah, so you want information? That's gonna cost you."
That's how he was going to be. (Y/N) was unimpressed as she exhaled rather bored.
"That's disappointing. I'll simply take my business somewhere else."
She was about to turn around but Hakari called out after with a hearty guffaw, as he gestured for (Y/N) to come and sit by their front counter. Kirara went back and put a chair down for their customer to sit on.
"Ah I'm only jesting, Miss. Please sit. Kirara, how about tea? I promise it's on the house."
(Y/N) gave a nod and sat down on the chair as Hakari took a seat opposite her. It wasn't long and Kirara brought out a rich chamomile tea for her to drink. The chamomile was fairly decent but (Y/N) sipped the drink so as not to look rude. Hakari began to answer.
"Well there's just not much in Kaprines. People here just live quiet lives or the people that did live here, move to the other regions or try to work in the Itadori House."
"You seem like the kind of person who'd make more of themselves in another region. How come you're here?"
"You're not wrong but I'm great where I am. My business does well and Kirara and I are happy here."
There was something he was hiding but (Y/N) gave a nod as her eyes wandered around before landing on a candle with drawings on its body. Standing up, she went towards the candle, lifting it and examining it in her hands.
"Ah you like the candle?"
"It has a beautiful design."
"Yeah, these sell quite well but people are buying them because they light up a room. They don't care to look at the designs which is a shame because the maker works real hard to design and carve them."
"Who makes them?"
"A kid that lives down the road with his mother, says it helps him pay for food."
Her hands stilled as she glanced up at Hakari, asking.
"Are people struggling here?"
"A lot of people do. That Lord Itadori spent money to build the roads and some houses but the houses are too expensive. People can only afford food. Honestly, the region needs a lot of work and improvement."
Staring down at the candle, a small idea was starting to form in her head as her fingers traced the designs on the candle. She was going to turn Kaprines around to make it thrive.
The improvement project:
(Y/N) shook her head as she stepped off the carriage, before being immediately flanked by Nanami and Nobara. Rolling her eyes she was about to turn to the carriage when Nanami had beat her to it and held on to three covered canvases, Nobara had the other two and a small pile of booklets which were held by a twine bow.
Nanami bowed at the Lady who shook her head with a smile, walking forward and into Hakari's to greet the owner. The purple haired man grinned and exclaimed with delight.
"Lady Itadori! Once again a delight to see you here!"
About two months after her visit, Hakari had already deduced that (Y/N) held a high position in the house and his suspicions had been confirmed when he caught Nanami bowing to the Lady, a prior time when (Y/N) came to visit Hakari.
The two of them had formed a business relationship of sorts as (Y/N) sold a few paintings to Hakari, additionally providing him with means to travel around and sell these art pieces. This slowly started to create a name around the region and slowly slowly, people were coming to Kaprines to buy and sell art. Kaprines was on its way to becoming a cultural hub for art.
"Hello Hakari! How are you doing today?"
"Doing amazing my Lady! Can't wait to see what you've brought for me to sell today!"
Nanami uncovered one canvas to show to Hakari, who put the canvas on his counter. Kirara was busy helping the other few customers that were in the store. The painting was a watercolour of a peach blossom tree in the summer and it made Hakari's heart warm with delight.
"My Lady! You seem to get better, day by day! These will all sell well. Let's hope that Sir Amanai shows up today."
Among her buyers, there was apparently a tall man with striking sharp blue eyes that went by the name of Sir Amanai that brought a lot of her paintings. The door opened and closed but Hakari's grin grew wider as he spun around the table to greet the customer.
"Speak of the man himself, Sir Amanai!"
Finally after months of wondering, (Y/N) could meet her most valuable customer. The man was incredibly tall, dressed in a simple brown shirt, black waistcoat and black trousers, along with a black robe. The man was rather tall and his stature was difficult to tell because of the bagginess of his clothes.
Hakari was right about his eyes being a striking shade of blue. It was like the sky and sea were clashing for dominance and it could make you get lost for years. That was the only defining feature of him because the rest of his face was covered by a white mask. Apparently it was to hide his hideous scars he received from his military days.
The tall man seemed to sense Lady (Y/N), finishing his greeting with Hakari before stepping up and bowing in front of the Lady. He used one hand to lift the bottom of his mask, the other held onto the Lady's hand and kissed the back of it before resettling his mask on his face.
His eyes seemed so familiar but she couldn't pinpoint who exactly this man was. There was no way this man could be who she thought it was because the person she could think of, would have had a much grander introduction to the story.
"And you must be the painter who creates these wonderful works of art."
"That's me. I'm (Y/N) Inumaki. Sir Amanai?"
"That's right and in the flesh! I must say, I adore your art pieces. I’m always asking Hakari when the next piece will come in but he’s given me a better gift as I am now able to meet the lady responsible for them.”
Sir Amanai stepped around the young Lady to the counter to see the cherry blossom canvas. There was a big grin on his face as he took in the soft colours and brush strokes. His gloved hands traced the branch of the tree trunk before looking over his shoulder and declaring.
"I would like to purchase everything that Miss Inumaki has brought just now."
Hakari clapped his hands and gave a nod, going around the counter to process the purchase. (Y/N) had a curious glint in her eyes as she stepped forward to open her mouth but Sir Amanai cut in.
"Do you take commissions?"
(Y/N) glanced up to Nanami as if silently asking him but he shook his head.
"Not to date, Sir."
"Well would you take a commission from the Royal family?"
Everyone seemed to be still at the words. There was no way this man was of the royal family. The masked sir laughed as he waved in hands to clarify.
"I'm a representative of the Royal family and the emperor has heard of your work. He would like to commission a portrait from you to celebrate his birthday next year."
"Next year?"
"Yes. He is in no rush to hear a response from you soon. Take your time and consider it. When you do, please arrive in Jotron with this brooch. You'll be let in to meet Emperor Gojo."
The store door opened and closed which made Mr. Amanai look up and nod.
"Ah! Mr. Kuroi, good you're here! Please help me take the art pieces back to the estate."
Mr. Kuroi was also a tall man with long black hair that was tied into a half updo, he had brown dragon like eyes which gave him a mysterious intimidating aura. The man dressed similarly to Sir Amanai and had on a black coloured mask. There was something fishy about his mask which made a chill run down (Y/N)'s back.
Nanami noticed this but kept quiet, hoping to bring it up later with Lord Itadori when he came back from his hunt. Mr. Kuroi silently gathered the canvases and parchments, sending a bow of his head to everyone before leaving. After paying Hakari with a pouch of what could be coins, Sir Amanai stepped forward and reached into his pocket to hand her a brooch bearing the crest of the royal family: a shield with a hydrangea behind a magpie, the Gojo family crest.
"Until the next time we meet." He sends a final farewell to Hakari before swiftly leaving the shop. Nanami, Nobara and (Y/N) share an intrigued expression as (Y/N) whispers to them.
"There's something quite not right there."
"I agree, my Lady. I'll have someone survey them the next time they come."
(Y/N) gave a nod before collecting her split money from Hakari. Heading out of the shop and going to her carriage, followed by Nanami and Nobara. There wasn't something quite right about Sir Amanai and Mr. Kuroi.
Just Like Magic pt. 2
Warning: N/A
MASTERLIST
A/N: Some of you may have read this before, I just had to make a few changes in narrative and now I feel it is ready. Part 2 is here and Part 3 is coming soon. Thanks and I hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think! Follow, comment or reblog, IDC because I enjoy writing this fic. Please pay attention before reading.
Tumblr media
(Y/N) was always an early riser as she dragged herself out of the luxurious bed sheets, straight away fixing them to make it seem like no one had slept there before sauntering over to the windows to pull open the curtains. The scenery outside was idyllic as she stared at the lush green trees shrouded under clouds. Her fingers mindlessly brushed the knots and tangles in her hair, smoothing it so it was straight and neat.
She fucked up but she may be able to recover from this. In the original story, the reader fell into a shock coma and dreamt the rest of her life with Choso. It was a shitty twist and (Y/N) wasn't weak willed. She was going to make the most of it. In the last three years, her heart somehow hardened and she built up her endurance to become stronger. She would overcome the shock.
She needed to talk to Choso, not too sure what exactly. But she needed to speak to Toge. At least tell him the circumstances have changed. Just so later on, down the line Toge wouldn't be so outraged by her sudden marriage. There was a soft knock on the door as (Y/N) shifted away from the window to answer who was at the door.
It was Nanami and a young woman with short orange hair, dressed in a black dress and white apron. Nanami seemed tired as usual as (Y/N) let the both of them enter the room. (Y/N) recognised the young woman but kept quiet to get a better explanation. Nanami gestured at the woman to begin introducing when his eyes accidentally caught (Y/N)'s nightwear. Red blush spread across his cheeks as he turned around, speaking with a choked voice.
"Lady Itadori, you seem to be missing your robe."
(Y/N) glanced down to notice that she was wearing a sheer silk nightgown that was showing a shadow of her body. The young woman rushed forward and helped (Y/N) slip into the robe that was hanging on a chair.
"Apologies, Nanami. You can look now."
He turned around, feeling a little relieved and embarrassed about the situation. However it wasn't the worst thing he had seen. He cleared his throat and spoke clearly.
"My apologies. This is Nobara. She will be your maid. I assume you are familiar with what her role is."
(Y/N) gave a nod and smiled at the young woman. Nobara was a fun character and she could completely trust her.
"It's nice to meet you Nobara."
"You too, My Lady."
"Please call me (Y/N)."
Nobara was horrified as she shook her head and waved her hands frantically. How could she dare address her Lady without her title? She wasn't worthy to be on a first name basis with her.
"I cannot."
Nanami rolled his eyes, and interjected between the two women.
"My Lady you will have to get used to this. You are the wife of Viscount Itadori Choso of Kaprines. A noble."
"Oh right. My apologies."
There was a brief pause in the air as (Y/N) let his words sink in. Nanami cleared his throat and switched to more important matters.
“Now, Nobara and I will show you around the estate and discuss your duties as the Lady of the Household. Do you have any questions?”
“Yes. Before we proceed with that, I want to talk to Viscount Itadori.”
Nanami had an apprehensive expression on his face, almost wishing that she didn’t ask for that request. Viscount Itadori seemed miserable this morning which was a counter to his usual calm manner. (Y/N) noticed this expression as she tried to rectify this.
“I’m sorry but -”
Before she could finish that sentence, there was a harsh rapid knock on the door, followed by a young maid with a grey dress. She gave a quick bow to (Y/N) and then turned around to quickly inform Nanami.
“Apologies. Nanami, Viscount Itadori is asking for you to help him prepare. He’s been summoned to hunt for monsters that are terrorising the villages in the north. He intends to leave now.”
Nanami gave a firm nod and dismissed the maid, turning to Lady Itadori and bowing with apology.
“Forgive me, my Lady but I must attend the Viscount. Nobara will guide you.”
At that Nanami strode out of the room and rushed away to Viscount Itadori’s room. (Y/N) was also about to follow when Nobara pulled at her arm to warn her.
“My Lady! You can’t go out looking like that! Put a dress on!”
(Y/N) was surprised by the casual tone in Nobara’s voice as she furrowed her eyebrows to look at her maid. Nobara rolled her eyes and let go of her hand before casually sauntering to the wardrobe to pick a dress out for (Y/N). A minute or so later, Nobara had pulled out a simple green dress with a bright yellow cord going across the hem, sleeves and folds of the dress.
“This dress is good. It’s quick to get into, can go on top of the night dress and it won’t drag on the ground if you want to go see Viscount Itadori.”
A gentle smile made its way to (Y/N)’s face, glad that Nobara understood what she needed. She gave a haphazard nod before taking off her nightgown’s robe, using Nobara’s help to get into the dress. Nobara pulled it up over the shoulders roughly before yanking the strings tight to tie up the back. Lady Itadori was ready except for her feet as Nobara went to the wardrobe one more time to grab a black pair of cloth pattens.
As soon as Nobara slipped the shoes on, (Y/N) shoved the door open and rushed out to try to catch her husband. Nobara rolled her eyes and grabbed a red woollen shawl from the wardrobe before chasing after (Y/N). She was a quick person as Nobara darted down the hallway just to catch a brief glimpse of (Y/N).
(Y/N) was passing through the hallways before entering a foyer. She rushed down and pushed the front door open to see several groups of men on horseback. All dressed in metal armour, save for their heads. There seemed to be at least forty men as (Y/N) shrank into herself. It was definitely an intimidating sight as she tried to peek around for a familiar face.
Fortunately for her, she was able to find Captain Tsukumo as she stepped down before calmly walking towards the tall woman. She was steely focused at inspecting the carriages that were prepared to carry their tents and food for a whole five months. It was never easy to pack at the last minute.
"Captain Tsukumo!"
Hearing her name, Tsukumo turned around to see the Lady of the house approaching her as she gave a quick bow.
"My Lady. What can I do for you?"
"Do you happen to know where Viscount Itadori is?"
"Last I saw him, was in his study for the briefing. I haven't seen him since."
(Y/N) huffed frantically as she thanked Tsukumo, then stomping away to look for the other Captain, Nanami, Yuuji or Viscount Itadori himself. Nobara had just reached Tsukumo and muttered angrily to herself as she followed the Lady.
All the knights were perplexed by the new Lady of the house, stomping around looking for her husband. She managed to spot Captain Fushiguro, who was tending to a horse.
"Captain Fushiguro!"
Fushiguro bowed lowly to (Y/N) as she stopped in front of him. She was breathing heavily and shivering as Fushiguro quirked a single eyebrow upwards.
"Lady Itadori, you shouldn't be running in this frosty weather."
He took the shawl off his horse and stepped closer to Lady Itadori, bringing the shawl around her shoulders and tugging it close so that she could grasp the closed ends. She didn't think much of it as she rasped out.
"Don't worry about me, Captain. Have you seen Viscount Itadori? I need to urgently talk to him."
"Lady Itadori!"
Fushiguro and (Y/N) pivoted to the direction of the loud call which came from Nobara. She held a red woolly shawl as she trudged over and wrapped herself in it, grumbling nonsense. A soft inaudible scoff left Fushiguro's lips as he smirked.
"Don't worry, I took care of your Lady."
Nobara squinted aggressively at the Captain's gesture. Fushiguro grinned smugly before he returned to (Y/N) to answer her question.
"I haven't seen Viscount Itadori since the briefing."
At that moment, a loud trumpet sounded as the entire courtyard turned to the knight that sat atop a chestnut coloured horse. It was Viscount Itadori, dressed in a black gilded armour with silver embellishments across the edge and chest. The horse trudged through the crowd and made its way over to Captain Fushiguro.
"Captain, are we ready to depart?"
"Yes my Lord. All accounted for … except for your brother"
Choso rolled his eyes before he took notice of (Y/N) and her maid wrapped up in shawls. He frowned at the fact that (Y/N) was out here and probably looking for him. He didn't want to talk to her. He wasn't ready as he returned his gaze back to Fushiguro.
"I can't afford to wait for him any longer. We will head out first and tell him, he can come with Megumi once he's healed up."
Fushiguro bowed as he walked towards the troops to inform them of their new orders. Nanami came up to Choso to hand over the helmet of his armour.
"Viscount Itadori?"
Her husband ignored her plea as he turned to Nanami with a firm tone in his voice.
"Please take her inside and explain to her everything I explained to you. I must head out now."
With no final glance back at (Y/N), Choso flicked his reins so his horse began to trot to the front of the men, to begin leading them to their military hunt. (Y/N) felt her heart break a little as she watched her husband leave without a glance and regard for her.
In the original, the shock of rejection had cemented so strongly that the original reader fell into a coma and only woke up when she heard the news about her husband's death. (Y/N) was not weak to be weighed down by rejection, she had been forced to go through a lot in the last three years and it had toughened her skin.
(Y/N) stood tall and firm, watching as Choso was riding away until he became a small blimp in the horizon. Nobara carefully brought her hands to the Lady's shoulders to coax her back to the palace. Fushiguro clambered onto his horse and trotted over to the Lady, Nanami and Nobara. He had a warm gentle expression as he spoke.
"My Lady, I'll try to send a raven to keep you informed about our hunt. We should be back soon, safe and sound."
"Thank you Captain."
"Call me Toji, my Lady."
"Toji."
(Y/N)'s heart warmed at his kind gesture. Toji gave a confident smile as his eyes glanced over at the Lady. His eyes went towards Nobara as he smirked playfully at her.
"Please keep Lady Itadori safe."
Nobara scoffed as she folded her arms, almost knowing his intentions from his words spoken to her Lady.
"Don't worry, Captain. I'll keep her safe. You should worry more about yourself."
"I will, Miss."
With that said, Fushiguro guided his horse to turn and gallop after the men. The courtyard was now empty now as (Y/N) exhaled a deep breath she didn’t know she was holding. She needed to make the most of her time at the palace, to convince Choso that she was worthy of keeping.
She followed Nobara and Nanami up the stairs only to come across a familiar lanky figure that leaned on the door frame. Yuuji had a proud grin as he gave a quick bow to (Y/N).
"My Lady."
"Yuuji! Weren't you supposed to go with them?"
"And suffer from Big Bro's foul mood for months on end? No thanks. I'm better off being here to help you, my Lady."
Nanami frowned with his folded arms and raised eyebrows.
"How exactly are you helping Lady Itadori?"
"I'm gonna help her win Choso's heart of course."
"With magic?"
"Of course not! That is deceitful and I would never do that."
Nanami shook his head with a grimace as he held an arm out to lead (Y/N) in.
"I apologise, my Lady but don't listen to his words. He will make you drink a potion without telling you the effects."
They began walking inside the hall as Yuuji skipped after them, feeling rather offended by Nanami's insinuations. Nobara and (Y/N) were listening with amusement.
"When are you going to let that go, Nanami?! It was one time."
"It shouldn't have even been one time. It was humiliating in front of Lord Gakuganji and Lady Utahime of Macia. I felt like a fool jester."
"It was very good dancing."
"She almost would have killed me because she assumed that I was trying to seduce her."
(Y/N) and Nobara pursed their lips to refrain from laughing aloud whilst Nanami pinched his eyes at the embarrassment of having to recollect that memory. Yuuji had a grin of confidence as he slapped Nanami’s back.
“Come on! I thought it would help you seem less sleepy in front of them.”
Yuuji quietened down at the dangerous glare that Nanami was giving him. He decides to slide back and walk quietly alongside Lady Itadori. There was a moment of peace before Yuuji opened his mouth.
"Where exactly are we going?"
"To the spare study to teach the Lady about the house."
"Without breakfast?"
Nanami halted to a stop as his face flushed with apprehension. He had completely forgotten about that as he slowly turned with a bow.
"My apologies, my Lady. I had forgotten to ask you about breakfast."
(Y/N) shook her face as waved her hand nonchalantly. She didn't always have breakfast so it didn't matter.
"It's okay, Nanami. I can survive without breakfast."
"But Viscount Itadori will be angry if I haven't appropriately catered to you. You must hold on in the study whilst I go get your breakfast."
"Nanami! Don't worry. Please don't bother to make a big breakfast. Nobara, can you please bring three slices of toast with honey on top and some tea please?"
“Yeah Nobara, get me a whole plate of eggs and bacon!"
Nobara gave a nod to her Lady, whilst sending a glare to Yuuji before she strayed away from them to the kitchen.
"She'll bring our breakfast whilst we study.”
Nanami acquiesced and they continued on. They came across a tall door which fit the palace's aesthetic. All of them came across a wall of bookshelves, a desk and a small table accompanied by wine coloured loungers. It was a simple elegantly decorated study as Nanami guided (Y/N) to sit down at her desk. He went towards the bookshelf and grabbed a few books off it before placing them on the table, in front of (Y/N). Yuuji plopped himself onto the loungers as he watched (Y/N) with a bored expression. Her face paled as Nanami began to explain.
"This will be your study, my Lady. Viscount Itadori has asked me to educate you in noble matters. These two books are the ledgers that Viscount Itadori has kept regarding the upkeep cost of the house, taxes, employee salaries and other expenses.
"Viscount Itadori is fairly new to the noble society, only recently was he given the title as a Viscount. Hence he only wrote two years of ledgers. The other Lords of Kaprines have their ledgers here as well and they date back eighty years."
(Y/N) could not keep up with Nanami's words as she glanced over at Yuuji. That man was snoozing peacefully through the droning and after what seemed to be a good forty minutes there was a knock on the door. Nobara pushed the door open, wheeling in two breakfast trays, one with buttered toast, honey and tea, the other with eggs, bacon and toast, accompanied by a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
Yuuji sprung up happily and took a seat opposite to (Y/N), ready to feast on his breakfast.
"Finally! Thank you Nobara."
Nobara rolled her eyes and set the trays in front of (Y/N) and Yuuji. She elbowed Nanami with a teasing tone.
"Did you bore them by droning about finances?"
"No, Lady Itadori was thoroughly engaged through our conversation, right?"
(Y/N) quietly sipped her tea as a way to abstain from answering Nanami. The tea was silky and smooth going down her throat with hints of chamomile mixed in. The toast seemed to be from freshly baked bread and fresh honey. It was the best breakfast she's had in a long time.
She was going to be the best Lady of the region, let alone the house and then maybe his wife. She's not only read fanfics, but historical manhwas as well so she knows how to play the game. Inumaki/Itadori (Y/N) was going to be the best main character there ever was.
Although a lot of what's happening now is completely new and she was out of her depth in knowledge. So she didn't have the best idea of what would happen next. She was going to need everyone's help to adapt and adjust.
"Lady Itadori?"
"Oh! Were you saying something? I'm so sorry, I was lost in thought."
Yuuji waved a hand to brush off her apology as straightened his posture.
"What I was trying to say to Nanami is that you aren't a member of the house of Kaprines until you have your own raven."
"Raven?"
Nanami gave a nod and began to explain.
"Yes. Ravens are the official animal of the House as well as our message carriers. The important members of the house have a raven, currently they are Viscount Itadori, Captains Tsukumo, Fushiguro, one of the knights, Megumi, and myself."
Yuuji clears his throat as Nanami rolls his eyes.
"And mage master Yuuji."
"Miwa takes care of the ravens, you'll like her. We should go pick out a raven for you and Miss Nobara as well!"
This was new. She did remember briefly seeing a raven on Choso's shawl but she couldn't focus on its significance at the time. (Y/N) turned towards Nanami as if to ask him if it was okay. He gave a gentle warm smile which assured her. She gave a nod and stood up to follow Yuuji through the hallway and through the saloon which led to the gardens of the palace. It was still a little frosty as the clouds swirled with a dull white colour.
A few yards away, there is a large glass greenhouse which has an open window to allow ravens to come and go. Yuuji led them up to the doors and pushed them wide to unveil lush trees. There was a small water fountain to the right and to the left was a desk of odd bits of junk.
It was amazing as (Y/N) held her breath at the setting as well as the occupants, the ravens. All were different ages and sizes, flying around and croaking. Yuuji strutted in, with his arms spread introducing the women to the birds.
"Welcome Lady Itadori and Nobara to the Unkindness Sanctuary."
(Y/N) frowned at the name as she walked into the glance at the ravens.
"Why unkindness?"
Nanami rolled his eyes and stepped forward to explain better.
"Because a group of ravens are known as 'unkindness'."
Yuuji laughed as he held his palm out for a raven to perch on it.
"I heard this from a fellow scientist and I just had to use it."
"You're the only one who uses that name. The actual name is The Kaprine Raven Sanctuary."
Everyone turned to the right to see a blue haired girl, dressed in black trousers and a black button shirt. She had one glove and a kind smile as she walked up to (Y/N), curtsying before introducing herself.
"My name is Miwa. I take care of the ravens here."
The raven that was hanging near Yuuji, flew away to stand on the palm of Miwa's hand. She was a new character being introduced but (Y/N) was going to love this girl.
"I'm sure you have many questions as to why the House has chosen a raven?"
(Y/N) gave a kind nod as she stood closer to Miwa to stroke the raven perched on her palm. It was certainly fascinating as ravens were commonly known to be harbingers of death and misery. She's aware of the superstitions around the birds.
"It is true that locals often symbolised these birds as figures of death and despair, choosing to avoid the sights of these birds, however they seem to underestimate how intelligent these birds are.
"They are capable of communication, being able to solve puzzles and come up with solutions. Not only that, but they have been known to mimic human voices.
"The first Lord of the house intended to use the raven as a way to establish themselves as a symbol of misery. However over the years, the different Lords began to notice the potential these birds have in carrying out tasks.
"Only twenty years ago, the Lord of Kaprines opened up this sanctuary as a way to nurture, train and breed ravens. My family have been taking care of the ravens since the sanctuary opened."
"And two years ago, I gave the name 'unkindness'. Hopefully it sticks!"
"Hopefully it doesn't."
Yuuji glared at Nobara, who simply rolled her eyes before looking around at the ravens.
"So how exactly do you choose your raven?"
Miwa shrugged before letting the raven on her palm fly away.
"Depends on which one looks good to you. Yuuji and Nanami, you help Nobara find her raven and I'll help Lady Itadori."
Everyone then split off into their assigned pairs as Miwa and (Y/N) strolled around the greenhouse. All their little beady eyes watched their movements as Miwa introduced a few birds to her.
"This is Max. He's a strong protective raven that can fight a squirrel."
"Can he actually?"
"Well I haven't seen it but apparently he fought one. This is Claude, a brooding raven who'll do what you want as long as you give him a snack. And this is Arsene. He is tempermental and deadly. I wouldn't recommend having him."
Arsene croaked loudly at Miwa's comment which made her jump behind (Y/N) and yelp. (Y/N) held back a laugh as she watched the bird carer begin an argument.
"What? It's true! You almost hit Regina in the beak yesterday. - what do you mean you were play-fighting?"
(Y/N) noticed a lone raven sitting on a branch, looking wistfully out at the gardens and hills behind the glass. She came closer to inspect the bird, moving carefully so as not to disturb it. The raven pivoted its head back as if knowing (Y/N) was there before flying down to stand in front of her.
Its eyes had a gentle fascination which drew her in, she crouched and brought a finger to scratch at his neck. It gave a soft croak and leaned in to accept her tender affection, this brought a smile to her face as she sat down, crossing her legs before bringing the bird onto her lap.
"That's Zachary. One of the soft hearted ravens that is loyal, caring and strong. One of the best choices actually."
(Y/N) lifted Zachary up to connect eye to eye with him as she instantly fell in love. She knew this raven would be there for her as she smiled at the bird. Miwa reached into her pocket and presented a ring and a bracelet to the two of them.
"If you are happy with Zachary, put this ring on your finger and put the bracelet around his neck so that this connects you together."
(Y/N) did as she instructed before turning to Zachary to introduce herself.
"Hi Zachary, I'm (Y/N)."
"Hello my Lady."
(Y/N) jumped at the sudden deep voice that came from Zachary. There is no way that ravens can actually mimic humans to the point that they can speak fluently. It was impossible as she gave Miwa a close to accusatory look.
"I thought you said they could mimic human voices."
Miwa nervously laughed before apologising.
"I did and they can. I'm sorry I should have been clearer. Yuuji charmed the ring and bracelet to establish and strengthen the communicative telepathic link."
(Y/N) gave a slow nod as she referenced the argument she had with the bird Arsene.
"Wait, so you actually understood what Arsene was saying?"
"Of course! The ravens are bred with magic to help them communicate like us. However the bracelet and ring enhance the communication link with the raven you have chosen as a companion. Essentially to a point where you could telepathically communicate across a large distance. Although that has never been tested."
That brought a smile to her face as Zachary took a perch on her shoulder. She learnt a lot as she gave a low curtsy to Miwa.
"I see. Well thank you Miwa for helping me find my raven and teaching me about them."
"You're welcome, my Lady. Should we go see Nobara?"
She gave a nod as the three of them began to head over to Nanami, Yuuji and Nobara. Nobara had an angry expression as she furrowed her eyebrows at Yuuji.
"You said they could mimic human voices. You failed to mention that they were capable of holding a conversation."
"Oh dear indeed! How could I have overstepped that important detail?"
(Y/N) rolled her eyes and linked her arm with Nobara's.
"Don't worry! You get used to it."
"Are you serious, my Lady? There is no way I can get used to this."
(Y/N) led Nobara away to look at other ravens, followed by Miwa who was continuously introducing the different ravens around them. Nanami watched them happily, whereas Yuuji stepped up to Nanami with an apprehensive expression.
"Are you sure this is a good idea, Nanami?"
Nanami pursed his lips as if he was unsure about what Yuuji was referring to.
"What is?"
"Keeping Lady Itadori here when Choso asked you to send her away."
Nanami's jaw ticked, not surprised at the fact that Yuuji knew this order. Yuuji was lingering outside the doors after the briefing, he probably overheard the conversation. The mage could tell that this struck a nerve as he spoke tentatively.
"I'm not doubting you. I'm concerned about your wellbeing."
"I appreciate that, Yuuji. I'm sure about keeping the Lady here. Your brother hasn't thought clearly with his head."
Yuuji gave a nod as he gave a gentle pat to his shoulder.
"I understand. I will support you with this and inform the others to do the same."
A calm silence settled between them as they watched Lady Itadori and Nobara look around at the ravens.
MASTERLIST
A/N: Some of you may have read this before, I just had to make a few changes in narrative and now I feel it is ready. Part 1 might seem not much but part 2 will be a bit more different. Part 3 is coming soon. Thanks and I hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think! Follow, comment or reblog, IDC because I enjoy writing this fic. Please pay attention before reading.
Tumblr media
(Y/N) felt a tight lodge in her throat as she waited in front of the church's double doors. She adjusted the collar of the blue dress whilst her mind wandered. Finally the moment she had long awaited for had arrived. Three years and she was at the start of the fanfic she read but actually being in it was a different experience.
A gruff noise came from behind her which had (Y/N) freeze in her position. With a nervous glance, she felt blood flush from her face as a tall stoic man, with a thick small moustache, dressed in a regal purple robe. Still looking ugly and menacing in the last two years, since she had arrived in this world.
Duke Kenjaku had a cursory glint in his eyes as he examined (Y/N) from head to toe. After what seemed to be a lifetime, the Duke gave a grim satisfied nod as he stepped up to stand next to (Y/N), taking out a tentative hand out for her to hold on.
"You clean up decently for a servant girl."
(Y/N) bowed her head down, not wanting to respond to his comment. She had to tread carefully around this man, watching the doors as an empty church hall was unveiled to them; save for two men at the other end of the hall. The Duke plastered a cheshire grin as he began to lead (Y/N) down the aisle.
"I hope you remember my proposal. It would be wise of you not to turn back on your word, lest you would like to face the consequences of your actions."
(Y/N) gave a nod but he squeezed her hand tightly, expecting a verbal response.
"I remember clearly, your Grace."
If she didn't value her life so highly, she would have stabbed him to death. But right now was the start of the plot, the character that drew her in. (Y/N) lifted her head up to take a proper look at the man she was going to marry. The man with a rectangular mark on his nose, his eyes held a world of love. It felt like a stab at her heart because she knew it wasn't directed for her but for someone else he was expecting under the veil.
Her soon-to-be husband was Itadori Choso of Kaprines. Choso was a knight-turned-viscount who fought in the war against Wotrea and was relatively well known. From what she remembered about the story, Choso wanted to marry Lady Yorozu because he fell for her at first sight. However the Duke had another plan in mind hence (Y/N) was in a veil and wedding dress.
She met Choso at the altar. He politely bowed to which she and the Duke returned the gesture. He held out a gloved hand for her to grasp on as she finally stepped up to meet him, looking up to connect her eyes to his; before they turned to face the priest.
(Y/N) couldn’t tell how she felt. It had been three years since she was transported into this world. In that time, she had to quickly learn her role as a maid and integrate herself into society. Once again, she was going to have to do the same thing for she was marrying into nobility. Although the character she transported into was a reader insert so she could have any personality she wanted. And she was glad that of the Jujutsu Kaisen characters she read, she was with the one she liked most, Choso.
She faintly understood what the priest was saying and after what seemed to be an eternity the priest announced to the guests.
"If any person rejects this marriage, speak now or forever hold thine peace."
(Y/N) was tempted to speak out, to scream that she was forced into this marriage, to scream that the Duke was misleading Choso but no words could come to her throat. If she did speak, then worse was to come not just to her but her brother. In this story, Toge Innumaki was her brother. The sweet young man, who was mute in this book. She couldn’t have Duke Kenjaku hurt him. Again. Then came the dreaded words.
"Sir Itadori Choso, do you take Lady Kenjaku Yorozu of Shiuh Shia to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, 'til death do thee part?"
"I do."
"Lady Kenjaku Yorozu, do you consent to Sir Itadori Choso of Kaprines taking you as his lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, 'til death do thee part?"
"I consent."
(Y/N) said all too quickly and it dawned on her that they were now finally married. She now faced her husband, raising her head for him and getting ready for him to kiss her when he turned to the priest with a hushed tone. (Y/N) seemed confused, before it dawned on her that this was the exact moment that made her fall in love with the story as Choso turned back with a big smile on his face.
He stepped close to (Y/N), gently grasping her arms and leaning down to press a soft kiss on her forehead. After the kiss, he leant down to her ear to explain.
"I wish to save our proper kiss for our consummation tonight. I admit I'm afraid that I would act improperly if I were to kiss you on the lips."
(Y/N) felt her heart melt at his caring nature as she gazed at his loving expression, also surprised at his unconditional affection towards her. But deep down inside, where her gut swirled with uncertainty and unease, the affection was not meant for her. The wedding was now complete, Choso stepped down a little distance away so that (Y/N) could say her goodbyes.
"Is my brother safe now, your grace?"
"Your brother is safe. You, however, may not be. You have to pay the price once he learns the truth. After all, your job is to do as your master says."
There was a tinge of threat laced in his last statement. On the one hand, she was glad that Toge was safe but now she realises the painful part of the story that is to start. There was nothing else she could say but to accept her fate as she turned to see her husband gazing adoringly at her.
The Duke stepped away from (Y/N) to talk to Choso, probably saying some false comforting words about taking care of his 'daughter'. After a few brief moments, Choso stepped away from the Duke to go to his wife.
"We are leaving for my palace now. Your effects have already arrived at the palace."
(Y/N) gave a nod and held on to Choso's outstretched hand before being led by him to the carriage that was waiting outside. She was uncertain of what the future held for her now. One thing was certain, she was not going to play the story exactly as she read. It was an angsty story with no satisfaction for romance, but it was written descriptively well and it made her sob endlessly for days. Right now, she needed to tell him the truth whilst finding a way to not be killed.
The both of them settled opposite one another and the carriage set off. The sun was beginning to set as (Y/N) stared out the window, a wide range of thoughts running through her head.
"What are you thinking about, Princess?"
(Y/N) frowned at the wording and shifted her head to turn to Choso, who was leant back against the seat. It was at this moment she finally took a glance at his attire which seemed to make her bashful as he wore a same colour blue blazer with a white shirt and white trousers. A blue coloured shawl with embroidered blue anemones and ravens was draped across his torso and pinned to the shoulder. There were many golden thread embroidery stitches along the hem of the blazer. He had matched well with her and dressed impeccably.
He was nothing like the Choso she knew, though it was a fanfiction story. Only the personality of Choso was here and not his style of clothes that he would originally wear. It was time to forget her old life and start anew.
"Nothing in particular my Lord."
"Call me Choso, Princess."
(Y/N) felt heat flush her cheeks as she stared straight at her husband, torn to say anything.
"If you do not want to then you can whisper it to me in our room tonight."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened as she glanced up at her husband, who had a smug grin. He seemed to revel in teasing (Y/N) or to Yorozu. Maybe Choso and Lady Yorozu were closely acquainted. Wait no, what she remembered was that Choso had fallen for Yorozu at first sight. He didn't know what a truly awful woman she was. Her hands clenched tightly as she said nothing and snapped her head to the window.
Choso noticed this and leant forward to grasp her hand with reassurance, slightly embarrassed that he had scared his wife.
"Yorozu … I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
(Y/N) felt her throat hitch at his apology. In a few hours, he would take back the apology. Choso gave a soft smile and leant back to glance out the window, sitting in silence, as the carriage rode for three hours. It wasn't long before (Y/N) could finally see the palace come to view. It was captivating as the lanterns illuminated the palace walls and towers. It stood tall and proud as the carriage halted in front of the palace doors.
The entrance was empty save for a tall imposing man with blonde hair, dressed in black trousers and a blue buttoned shirt, matched with a beige robe. This man seemed to be important as he bowed at the carriage before stepping forward and opening the door. Choso stepped down first, exchanging polite greetings with the man before turning to the carriage to help his bride step off the carriage. Once (Y/N) got off, Choso closed the carriage door which signalled to the footman to drive the carriage down to the stables.
(Y/N) turned to face the man, who seemed to have a rather grim expression on his face. Choso didn’t seem to notice this as he rambled.
“This is Nanami. He is the head housekeeper and helps me manage the estate. Should you require anything, please ask him.”
(Y/N) gave a polite nod and smile as Nanami graciously bowed in respect.
“It is a pleasure to meet you my Lady.”
(Y/N) curtseyed in response before Choso began to lead (Y/N) inside the palace, rather hurriedly; it was certain that he was eager to spend time with her. The windows brought a glow of moonshine into the palace which made it easier for Choso to see where he was going. (Y/N) was unsure about why he was rushing and it wasn’t long when Choso threw his doors open to a large room.
It was grand and spacious with ivory coloured walls. The walls had embedded designs of arches with gold lining. There was a balcony that was large and concave shaped, a simple bench was at the front and thin gossamer curtains hung across the door. The bed was a four poster bed with pale green bed sheets and embroidered blue flowers. There was life to the room as (Y/N) stepped in to take in the design.
Choso quietly shut the bedroom doors and stepped towards his wife, clasping her shoulders and leaning close to her as if sharing a secret.
“What do you think of our room?”
It suddenly dawned on (Y/N) that this was her room. Her and her husband’s room. Her husband, who thought she was Lady Yorozu. It’s gone on for far too long and he needed to know the truth. She opened her mouth to start.
“Our room?”
It wasn’t what she wanted to say but she felt a tight lodge in her throat that refused to speak the truth. This was silly but Choso hummed as he slowly turned his wife to face him, his heart pounding against his ribs. He needed to be confident for his new wife.
“Yes. Is it not our duty as husband and wife to share a room?”
“That is true.”
“And should they not also share the same bed?”
(Y/N) felt heat grow in her cheeks as she bowed her head to look away, he wasn’t going to let her be shy when he had gained the strength to be confident. He curled a finger under her chin and lifted her face to look directly into the silhouette of her face which was still hidden under the veil. It hadn’t dawned on him that he had yet to take off her veil and to see her face in its true beauty.
“My dear wife. With your consent, may I share my body with yours? As a husband should.”
As he was saying the words, he was slowly lifting her veil up. (Y/N) felt her blood run cold and her limbs froze as she stared into Choso’s eyes. Shock settled over the both of them as Choso lost his joyful loving expression. It couldn’t be. Choso stumbled back, staying a clear distance from her, bewildered by the unknown woman in front of him.
“Who are you? And where is my wife?”
(Y/N) didn’t respond which made him snap in anger, almost lunging forward and reached behind him, pulling a dagger out and pressing the sharp edge of it against (Y/N)’s neck.
Fear began to fester in her body as her body began to convulse with short rapid breaths and her eyes welled up with tears. The cool sharp edge of the knife was pressing into the side of her neck and she was sure that if she moved, he would have easily sliced across and killed her instantly. She fucked up and didn't tell him the truth in time. Choso was shaking uncontrollably with a mixture of fear and adrenaline. He couldn’t believe his eyes as he began to roar.
“Where is my wife?!”
(Y/N) choked back a cry as she clenched her fists tighter.
“Choso I-”
“Don’t call me Choso!”
She blinked back tears and glanced up at the ceiling. She mustered up whatever courage she could and began trying to defend herself.
“Pardon me, my Lord but I am your wife.”
“That is impossible! I wed to Lady Yorozu of Shiuh Shia. The Duke himself gave her away to me.”
“It was me he gave away. Lady Yorozu was never to be wed to you.”
Choso could not hide his disgust any longer as he shoved (Y/N) away from him. He walked over to the bedroom door and pulled frantically at a cord which rang a bell. Within minutes, there was a frantic knock on the door which Choso swung open. Nanami stumbled in with a frazzled expression on his face. His eyes scanned over Choso before wandering over to the hunched figure that was the Lady.
He couldn't comprehend what happened but readjusted his composure to better present himself to Choso.
"My Lord, is something the matter?"
"Yes. Summon Captain Tsukumo and Fushiguro to the dungeon along with Yuuji. Also tell him to bring his interrogation tools. We need it for this wretched woman."
Nanami stared at the hunched figure in shock, almost hesitating to complete his task when Choso stomped over to the woman. He roughly lifted her up to show her crying face to Nanami, who almost dropped in shock. He couldn't believe his eyes as he bowed before running out of the room to raise the alarm.
Choso gathered both her wrists in one hand before pressing the tip of his blade at her lower back. (Y/N) could do nothing but let Choso unleash his anger on her. It's like the Duke said, she was going to pay the price. As she let herself be dragged by her husband. She kept her head bowed and it wasn't long until they were climbing the stairs down to a dark and dingy room.
It had a dreary atmosphere as Choso grabbed a set of keys from the wall, he unlocked a cell door and tossed her in before locking the door behind her. (Y/N) hissed slightly as the palms of her hands were grazed. Her dress was beginning to gather dirt as she pulled her knees close to her chest.
Two haggard voices echoed from the stairs before a bulky man and woman stood beside Choso. Both were dressed in a simple shirt and trousers whilst an expression of worry took hold on their faces. The blonde haired woman spoke first with a gruff voice.
"What happened, my Lord?"
Choso pointed his dagger at (Y/N), a bitter disdain marking his tone as both figures turned to the direction of the cell. The both of them were stunned at the fact that their commander had jailed this young woman.
"This woman claims that the Duke had given her away as my wife instead of Lady Yorozu."
Was it possible? To Tsukumo, she didn't look to be the malicious type to spread slander. Fushiguro too seemed stunned that this delicate woman had the audacity to claim that she was Viscount Itadori's wife. Both Captains straightened their posture and turned back to their commander.
"Where is Yuuji?"
At that moment, a pitched voice rang from the stairs, whining carelessly.
"Eh, calm down, I'm coming. A man like me needs a long rest to better function in the day."
A rather short skinny figure with pink hair stumbled into the dungeon, lugging behind a heavy case which Nanami was helping him carry. Yuuji eventually heaved the case and rested it against the cell bars, before spinning to face Choso.
"What seems to be the problem, big Bro?"
Choso gestured at the cell to which Yuuji turned to understand. Instead of sharing the same shocked expression the other people had, Yuuji had a curious soft expression on his face as he crouched by the cell to gander at the quivering form of (Y/N).
"Who is this young woman?"
"My wife … so she claims."
Yuuji raised a curious eyebrow as he opened up his case. His hands running over the labels of the vials and bottles.
"I see. Well, I hope they didn't treat you too roughly. Now let's see if we can get you to spill the truth."
Yuuji hummed to himself before finding a small vial with clear liquid inside. He shook the vial before pushing his palm through the gaps of the bars. (Y/N) blankly stared at the vial before snapping back to the surprisingly kind expression on Yuuji's face.
"Hey, whatever your name is, drink this vial if you want to show you're innocent."
(Y/N) was hesitant to take the vial but Yuuji pushed his hand further.
"It's a truth serum-"
A relieved sigh left her lips as she snatched the vial to drink the entire contents. Yuuji was impressed by her eagerness as he crossed his legs.
"Right, who are you?"
"My name is (Y/N) Inumaki and I'm Lady Yorozu's handmaiden."
"Okay, (Y/N), how did you become Choso's wife?"
"A month ago, Viscount Itadori sent a proposal to Duke Kenjaku about proposing to his daughter. The Duke was outraged. But he couldn't refuse the proposal seeing it would make him look bad in the noble society. So he made me take Lady Yorozu’s place and proceed with the wedding."
Fushiguro, Tsukumo and Nanami shared a nervous glance but Choso remained stoic to delve further into the truth.
"How did you know the Duke reacted like this?"
"I overheard him complaining to Lord Zenin of Chaycor. It was he who then came up with the idea to use me as a scapegoat so that the Duke could save face in the aristocracy."
"Why did you agree?"
"It wasn't by choice. He threatened to kill my brother if I didn't comply. He didn't care what happened if Viscount Itadori found out my true identity. He said that I would have to pay the price, which I am now."
Everyone else's nerves dissipated into concern over the young troubled woman. They were sympathetic to the fact that she had no choice. Even Choso felt sorry for the young woman as he still couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. He decided to ask the next question.
"Where is Lady Yorozu?"
"She is in Jotron. She is staying there so she could persuade the Emperor to marry her."
“Does she know about this?”
“She does.”
Choso’s expression became more grim and grave at (Y/N)’s answers. Almost as if he didn’t like the truth that was being spoken. (Y/N) was surprised that the truth serum didn't bring out the fact that she was transported into this world. Yuuji clapped his hands and stood up to brush the creases off his clothes.
“Right. Now that the interrogation is over, can we let her out?”
“No, I need you to do one more thing.”
Yuuji dropped his hands and grunted to himself about getting back at his older brother, Choso. Once again crouching by his case and lifting out a pouch. He pulled the strings and poured red powder out onto the palm of his hand. He turned to the cell doors with an apologetic look on his face.
“I’m sorry (Y/N) but I have to do this.”
Before she could ask, he blew the powder right onto her face which had her bring her hands up in defence. The powder was ingested into her nose and sticking to her arms and face. Everyone stood still in anticipation as the red powder clung onto (Y/N)’s skin. (Y/N) slowly dropped her hands to also see what the red powder could do. Minutes passed but nothing seemed to happen.
Choso was confused as he gestured his dagger at (Y/N).
“Why is nothing happening?”
“Probably because she has no magic running through her veins and the truth serum worked just fine. Now! Can we take this woman out of the cell and get her washed up?”
Choso hesitated but Tsukumo stepped forward to justify.
“She’s innocent. She’s not the one to punish. Duke Kenjaku is.”
(Y/N) waited with an unsteady breath as Choso exhaled in surender. Tsukumo was right but Choso didn’t want to admit that he had made a mistake. He took a better look at (Y/N) and felt guilty at the way he treated her but he couldn’t trust her. She could have opened up to him before instead of just when they were about to - Choso shook his head and sheathed his dagger, ordering his subordinates.
“Nanami, get her set up in one of the bedrooms and send a maid to help her wash up. Fushiguro take her to the room. Tsukumo, you help Yuuji take the case to his quarters. I will deal with the rest in the morning.”
With that said, Choso stalked away and left the dungeon. Yuuji grinned and gestured to Tsukumo to lift the heavy case. He spun around to face (Y/N).
“(Y/N) sleep well, and I will meet you for breakfast tomorrow.”
Yuuji then turned away and skipped up the stairs followed by Tsukumo who didn’t seem to be struggling with the case. Fushiguro grabbed the cell keys and unlocked the door, stepping in to hold a hand out to (Y/N), an apologetic smile on his face.
“Apologies my Lady.”
(Y/N) took the offered hand and stood up carefully.
“It’s okay, Sir. I’m the one at fault for deceiving all of you.”
The two of them stepped out of the cell, whilst Nanami stepped forward to sympathise with (Y/N).
“My Lady, you should not apologise. You were simply coerced into conducting the Duke's acts. You were doing your job as a servant."
(Y/N) gave a soft smile to the two of them, glad they were able to forgive and accept her quickly. She hoped that her husband would do the same. That's what he is now. She couldn't get angry at him for the way he had treated her, she could have reacted the same as well. She straightened her posture to follow Fushiguro and Nanami. They were walking through the hallway to get to Lady (Y/N)’s room.
She hugged herself closely as the cold air hit her arms. So far she was following the plot exactly, which was not good because it meant that she and Choso were going to die. She decided to ask one of the two men.
"Sir, what's going to happen now?"
The two of them stopped, staring at each other with unease. Fushiguro turned back to glance at the Lady of the house.
"I'm not sure my Lady. However, I do know that he would not leave you stranded."
"I see. Also why do you address me as 'Lady'? I'm not a noble, I'm just a servant."
Nanami adjusted his sleeves as he addressed (Y/N)'s concern.
"Whilst you may not be a noble by birth, you have become a noble through marriage. It is only right that we address you as Lady."
"Would Viscount Itadori see me as a Lady and his wife?"
Nanami and Fushiguro were unsure of what to say. They knew that Choso would take a long time to get around to (Y/N). However, this betrayal seemed to cut him deeper. Nanami wanted to be realistic but Fushiguro cut in with an optimistic attitude.
"With time he will."
(Y/N) accepted this and both men exhaled with relief. It wasn't long when Nanami finally reached one of the guest rooms, opening the door to a modest sized room. The moonlight was bright enough to make the room clear and visible. Similar arches on the wall with a cream and pale green coloured embellishments. The bed was not a four poster bed but had similar duvets to the other room.
"This will be your room, my Lady. Bear with me a moment as I will fetch a maid for you."
Nanami was about to turn around, when (Y/N) grabbed onto his wrist to stop him going. Fushiguro quirked an amused eyebrow at the fact that (Y/N) had grabbed onto Nanami whereas the said man was in shock at the sudden contact.
"Nanami, please. Don't worry about fetching a maid. I can bathe and dress myself just fine."
(Y/N) let go of his wrist as both men clear their throats to face her. The head housekeeper took a deep breath as he tried to speak.
"But my Lady-"
"Please. I just want to be by myself."
Nanami's tired heart faltered as he exhaled deeply and agreed to her request. Both men excused themselves to let (Y/N) get cleaned up as she opened a door next to the bed to unveil a bathroom. The bath pool was on a raised dais, the taps were on the left as she pushed both of them down to let a mixture of hot and cold water fill the tub. There was a small trolley just before the bath, it had a variety of trays with dried flowers of lavender, honeysuckle and lilies. She lifted the tray of lilies and poured it into the bath, turning off the taps and undressing herself whilst the flowers steeped in the water.
As she sat in the bath, she all but hoped that Choso would allow her to stay. She did not want to create a chain of events that brought hers and Choso’s death early. When she read the story, it ended really poorly with the reader dying to a dream of Choso in her arms. This time she was going to change things where she earnt his love and did whatever she could to prevent their deaths.
This wasn't where he expected to find his next good fuck but somehow he found you. He noticed you sitting at a beanbag in the library. Your glasses were pushed right up your face.
Even the way you were dressed was getting to him as he took in your black straight jeans and matching woolly turtleneck. You were reading a book with an interesting cover, it had skulls and thorns with cursive that made it difficult for him to guess the title.
What drew him to notice you was the way your face was deadpanned, almost looking uninterested in what you were reading. Why continue reading a book you're uninterested in? Your legs were crossed over and you had white headphones covering your ears, probably blocking all the sound.
He came here to look for Geto and Gojo, apparently he needed to go over details for the gig they were being security detail for. The two of them were meant to be in the library for some college assignment. Sukuna stood out with his facial tattoos and black leather jacket.
Right now, he wanted you to warm his bed tonight, you seemed like the type of girl who liked to be wined and dined which wasn't so bad as long as he got to use them however he wanted. Rolling back his shoulders, eyes locked on target, he stepped towards you.
You were feeling hot under the collar as you read your book and followed along the words with your audio book. It was embarrassing reading this in your library but lately your parents weren't allowing you any privacy. They felt that you stayed indoors too much thus you went to the library to prove that you did go out.
You were a grown woman who should be allowed to do what she wanted but you worked a retail job whilst being rejected for different jobs as an admin assistant. Apparently they didn't want to hire an inexperienced graduate which made no sense.
You were stuck to reading smutty books in libraries and working inhumane hours for minimum pay. The book you were reading currently involved a tall tattooed biker that fell for the mayor's daughter and it was hot as hell. Currently you were listening/reading about them getting hot and heavy in the mayor's office during a party.
You were just getting to the bit where the biker was going down on his knees when something tapped you on your knee which made you drop your book, phone and headphones. You let out a short scream but shut up quickly when you realised that you were in a library.
The first thing you saw were black laced boots, nicely polished before trailing up to ripped black jeans. Your eyes went up to a white form fitting t-shirt underneath a black leather jacket. He had pink hair with a black undercut which was an interesting colour in comparison to his attire.
For a moment you thought you were hallucinating and the biker from your book had somehow come to life. However the facial tattoos reminded you that it wasn't the male lead, this person was actually standing in front of you.
Sukuna found it cute the way you were reacting to him, shocked like he caught you doing something nasty. Although, it didn't take him much to realise that you probably were as he picked up your book, headphones and phone to hand back to you. He took a look at the title and snorted.
"What the hell kinda book is this?"
You crossed your eyebrows as you folded your arms expecting him to return your things. You stood up, but suddenly felt a little nervous at the fact that this man was a whole foot taller than you.
"It's an action book about a biker."
That wasn't a whole lie, the book involved a biker and a lot of actions. Just more of the sexual type but she wasn't going to explicitly say what the book was to a total random stranger. Especially one that looked like a handsome jerk.
"An action book?"
"Yes, why?"
He shrugged, tucking his hands into his jean pockets.
"Why are you reading it if it looks boring?"
You frown as you look at the book cover. It was far from boring. What did he even mean by that but he answered your question.
"It's just, I came in looking for some people … I noticed you looking bored while you were reading."
It took a second before you made an 'oh'. Sometimes reading smut made your face go straight, especially if it was written in a generic formula. You pursed back a smile as you put your hand out to ask for your book.
"Well, I was reading a very important scene and wanted to focus."
Sukuna didn't really believe you as he opened the book, flicking to where your bookmark was. With a quick scan of the page you were on, he noticed an interesting word which made him quirk an eyebrow at you, which made you realise that his eyebrows were pierced.
"Important scene, huh? So you don't mind if I read that?"
Your eyes widened as you lunged forward to grab your book. You don't know how much he saw but you weren't going to let him find out more. Sukuna was quicker as he swung his arm to raise the book above his head as he tutted.
"Ah, ah ah! Mind if I read, Rosy?"
"It's not your kind of book."
"Maybe it is, Rosy, what would you know?"
"You haven't even read the book from the start! You're not gonna understand a thing if you start from the middle."
"So what? I just wanna know why this is such an important scene."
You scoffed as you dropped your hands to your hips. You couldn't believe this guy. Sukuna smirked as he glanced up at the title page, you were clearly hiding something about this book.
"'Sides, why are you reading about a biker?"
"Because they're interesting."
"You ever met one, Rosy?"
"Pft … where would you find one?"
There was a smug grin on Sukuna's face as he spread his arms to gesture at himself, answering your question which made your eyes widen. The coincidence was creepy but Sukuna almost laughed at the reaction on your face.
"You're a biker?"
"Yup but that's a part time hobby. I run a security company, lending out freelance security guards to events and people."
You nod and he brings a hand out to introduce himself. Sukuna was his name, it was interesting and even Sukuna found your name nice to repeat on his tongue but he liked the nickname he gave, Rosy. He had you on the hook, all he needed to do was to line and then reel in.
"So, Rosy, did you happen to see two tall guys: one with a dark black ponytail and the other with white hair and sunglasses?"
You scratch your head as you think back, shaking your head. Sukuna looks at your book one more time before finally handing it back to you, along with your headphones and phone. He was gonna get you in his bed tonight as he exhaled.
"I see. By the way, are you doing anything tonight?"
You deadpanned at the fact that Sukuna was cocky enough to ask what you were doing. You weren't that easy although this has been a literal dream. He was probably a red flag in disguise as you amuse his ask.
"Why? You plan to ask me out on a date?"
"Well a certain someone won't let me read this important scene without reading the whole book so I want you to read the book to me. Think of it as a … what's that thing those housewives do where they read a book together?"
"A book club?"
"Yeah, Rosy, a book club. We'll have our own little book club."
Sukuna was amused as he watched you make several confused expressions, looking at him, the book cover and the pages.
"What?"
"Come on, Rosy-"
"Why are you calling me, Rosy?"
"I promise, you'll have a good night. All we'll do is read your book. What have you got to lose?"
It wasn't much and this was a good opportunity for you to get out of the house like your mother wanted. You tapped your toe, looking down before looking back up at his face. He was persistent for sure and as long as you held out your temptation to dive in, you'll have an interesting night.
"No funny business?"
Sukuna wanted to snort at the fact that that was a total lie but he straightened his posture and raised his hand to show his fingers weren't crossed.
"No funny business, Rosy. So your place or mine for our book club?"
"Yours."
This was too easy as Sukuna took your phone out of your hands, he unlocked it and typed a few things before handing it back to you. You looked as he saved his number as 'Sukuna' with a skull emoji.
"Send me a text with your address when you're ready and I'll pick you up, in the full biker fit and motorcycle. Don't forget your book."
Without letting you say another word, Sukuna walked off leaving you confused yet lowkey excited at the fact that you were probably going on a date of your fantasies.
It took you half an hour to get home, your parents were still at work so you went up to your room to change. You were going to wear your plainest most unattractive clothes which was a white button up and a long lilac coloured skirt with a nice silver necklace and earrings.
He surely wouldn't be aroused by these clothes as you pack your bag with your book. You look at your phone, hesitating to send the text. You could just not go … he seemed like a conceited douchebag. But he promised an interesting night and heck he might end up being a highlight in your boring miserable life.
You sent the message and not long after you hear your phone ping with his response that he'll be at yours in twenty. This was plenty of time, you took this moment to ponder on your thoughts. You couldn't make your mind up as you were interrupted by intrusive thoughts begging you to sleep with him.
You didn't know much about him and he seemed like the type of guy that had one night stands. You didn't want to be a conquest. Plus you didn't know if he was good in bed. The cocky ones were usually all talk no bark. You had a sneaking suspicion that he maybe was good in bed.
A loud roar sound from outside, this made you jump as you rushed to your window to see who had a lion only for you to notice Sukuna outside your front door with his motorcycle. That was embarrassing as Sukuna caught your eye in the window and waved.
It was time to go as you took a few quick breaths, going down and sending a text to your mother before you stepped out of your front door, locking the house and walking to the tattooed biker who was leaning against the seat of his parked motorcycle. He was still in the same clothes as before and he did not shy away from looking you up and down.
"You look nice, Rosy. Didn't know you had more colours in your wardrobe."
"I see you didn't change."
"Of course not. We're doing a book club. I'll dress nice when we have our first date."
He winked at you which made you huff before he reached around the right side of the motorcycle to hand you a black coloured helmet. You turned it around your hands in surprise as he then pulled out a red helmet for himself, sitting it on his head and lifting the visor up to look at you.
"What's the matter?"
"I didn't expect you to have a helmet."
This made Sukuna laugh as his head reared back, shaking his head. You may have read too many biker stories to come up with that assumption as he took the helmet from your hands, to sit on top of your head.
"Of course I do. Don't want my book club partner to have an accident before she can read her book to me."
You roll your eyes as Sukuna sits the helmet on top of your head properly, adjusting the strap before checking if it was secure on your head, he gives a nod and goes to take his motorcycle off its stand, sitting on it and starting it up. It had a nice loud purr that almost vibrated in your chest as he cocked his head to gesture you.
You look at Sukuna and then at your clothes, realising that maybe your plan to look unsexy may have made it unsafe.
"Sukuna, how am I gonna sit on your bike?"
"You're just gonna have to hold your skirt up, Rosy."
You crouch slightly to lift the hem of your skirt up to your knees as you step up to Sukuna, holding your skirt in your left hand and using your right hand to rest on his shoulder to help you bring a leg around his bike. You're seated properly and bunch the skirt in the middle of your legs, unsure of where to put your right hand.
Sukuna can hear you think too hard as he gets your hand to hold onto his waist. He pushes your visor down as he warns.
"Hold tight, Rosy. Squeeze or scoot closer if you're scared. I don't mind."
One rev. Two revs and the motorcycle is kicked into ignition as Sukuna pushes forward slightly before beginning to drive to his place. He's smooth at driving as he effortlessly weaves in between cars, surprisingly it's not too fast or too slow and you're able to actually look around you
Motorcycle driving was a different experience as the lit lamps gave the city a lively vibe than the sleepy one you often used to see when looking through a car window. You could feel the rush of wind on your arms as you tighten your grip on Sukuna.
He was giving you a wonderful experience and it isn't long until he reaches an apartment complex, he parks his motorcycle near the kerb. He steps off first before giving you a hand so that you could lift yourself off his bike.
You had a good time, Sukuna could tell as you took off your helmet and gave him a chance to see your exhilarated facial expression. He too took off his helmet as he led you through the doors, straight to an elevator to the third floor.
His apartment is neat and tidy with an open floor living room and kitchen. The colours were dull and grey, almost like it hasn't been lived in for a while as you examine.
"It looks nice."
"Thanks. Only moved here two months ago so I didn't get a chance to redecorate."
"Ah, where were you before that?"
"Around Japan. Never settled in one place. When I set up my company, I decided to settle here. Makes it easier to list the business."
You gave a nod, looking around, there weren't many pictures. Was he alone? There were two doors in front of you, one door to your right and one to your left as Sukuna pointed at each one.
"The far left one is the bathroom, next to it is a guest room, my room and then a laundry room."
You nod, taking your shoes and socks off by the front door as you go over to his dark grey cushion sofas, setting your bag on the white coffee table. It was better if you knew more about him and surprisingly he wasn't shying away from any personal questions which made you wonder what he was intending.
"Yeah. Been on my own for a long time."
"You live alone?"
He was an interesting open book. As you get your book out, he heads to the kitchen to look in his fridge.
"Want a drink? I got water, beer or orange juice."
You crinkle your nose at the beer and juice, instead asking for water. He comes back with two bottles of water, handing one to you and taking a sip from the other one. He was definitely not what you assumed him to be.
"No beer?"
"Don't feel like it."
That was a lie as you picked your book up, flicking to get to the front page after making sure that your bookmark was in its proper place. How were you going to do this? But Sukuna answered that as he sat right next to you on the double sofa, his arm spread on the back and his legs spread wide.
"Go ahead and start, Rosy."
With no other qualms, you started to read. You had a nice soothing voice as you began the story and Sukuna was getting into the vibe. He was curious and interested as he asked you all sorts of questions about the characters, further clarifications about certain scenes and actions.
It was a nice intellectual discussion and Sukuna was for once enjoying with you. In fact he was slowly beginning to let go of his idea that you would be sleeping in his bed. He would much rather read which surprised him.
You had reached halfway and your hands started to get clammy as you were getting to the scene you were reading earlier. This was going to be embarrassing as you rolled your shoulder back, feeling a slight stiffness as you paused your reading. Looking up at him over the book, he seemed calm and interested which somehow made it harder to ask.
"What's up, Rosy? Wanna take a break?"
You were almost thankful as Sukuna glanced at his phone, noticing you had read for a good hour and a half. Yeah you needed a break.
"Let's take a break."
"Thanks, I'll just go to the bathroom and be back."
You step off the sofa and shuffle to the bathroom, rushing in and locking the door behind you. Taking deeper, harsher breaths to try and calm your beating heart. Surely Sukuna had to have some inkling that this was not an action book else why would he insist on you reading it to him.
You pee and wash your hands, freshening up and shaking away your nerves. It was just a book and fiction, you read it quite a lot, heck you can pass off your facial expressions to not be a giveaway. But Sukuna was going to know that this was a porn book and he was going to tease you endlessly.
After a few minutes, you leave the bathroom and rejoin Sukuna on the sofa, picking up the book to pick up where you left off when he plucks it out of your hands, offering.
"Why don't I read? This is a book club and we should share reading turns. Besides, I wouldn't want you to overexert your voice."
This was the worst idea Sukuna had as he began to read where you left off. All of sudden the temperature dropped, his voice dropped as he started to talk about the female lead encountering the male lead. You kept your body still as you listened to Sukuna begin to slow his pace.
Talking about the male lead getting down on his knees, kissing a trail up the female lead's legs and nuzzling his face into her panties. It felt like a whisper in your ear and for the moment you felt like you had been transported into the mayor's office and Sukuna was the one in between your legs.
His hands stroked up and down your legs whilst he sniffed at your panties, you felt yourself lull into a dizzy lusty spell as you closed your eyes to fully manifest the image in your mind. The voice stopped and you were back in reality as you opened your eyes to watch Sukuna pout.
"Is my voice so bad that you fell asleep?"
You hadn't fallen asleep as you blink your eyes, furrowing your brows at Sukuna. His lips twitched slightly and you had a feeling that he knew what this book was all along.
"No … not at all."
"We were just getting to the scene you said was important and I can see why."
You huffed, bringing your bare feet to tuck under you as you face him fully, straight posture and slightly leaning forward.
"You knew what this scene was?!"
"I caught a glimpse of the word 'suck' back in the library but snuck a better look while you were in the bathroom. It's an interesting book."
"Interesting book? It's got explicit sex scenes!"
"And? Sex is natural. There's nothing to be ashamed about. We will have an intellectual grown-up discussion about it. I'll continue."
That he did, he brought the story to life as he read about the oral scene in the mayor's office. You tried to keep a straight face but inside you felt yourself slowly burning, from shame or excitement the two were blurring.
Sukuna, too, was getting hot under his shirt, having shed his jacket now to show you his arms which were muscular and tattooed making your eyes wonder where else is tattooed. The book wasn’t what you were expecting, since it was meant to be a highly smutty pornographic book.
It was nothing, since you listened to the story. The main leads were hot and heavy in her room and the office. You had passed your bookmark and reading the climax was … underwhelming for you. Apparently the male lead was using the female lead to get revenge on her dad by screwing her in his office. She finds out, they argue and they make up. The big sex scene which your friends hyped up was unbearably tame.
Sukuna found it incredibly hot as he finished off his last sentence, closing the book and turning it over in his hands. He got a few good tips from the book which will help him as he took a moment to look at his book partner. His eyebrows crossed with confusion as he took in your disappointed disgruntled expression.
"Rosy?"
"Yeah?"
"What you think of the book?"
You look at the book cover, taking it from his hands and reading over the reviews. In all honesty, you couldn't believe how disappointing the book was despite the four/five star reviews.
"You tell me first, Sukuna."
"Well … the plot is interesting. Both the guy and the girl had interesting chemistry which made the love scenes hotter. I liked it. Especially that argument scene."
His words eventually stopped at the growing disappointed look on your face.
"So you didn't like the book?"
"It just … I have completely opposite opinions to you. The guy and girl have no chemistry. There was no captivating conflict and just the sex scenes were lackluster."
Sukuna tilted his head, you were unhappy? He wanted to grin so badly, hearing you be so disgusted by the lack of creative sex, making him wonder what you were into.
"Lackluster?"
"Yes. I've read better books than that. With better chemistry and sex."
"Really? What books are they?"
You were about to answer his question when you clamped your mouth shut. Did he truly want to know what books were better? Nah there was no way. He was just doing this to get you to have sex with him. You huff and let out a sarcastic sneer.
"Maybe when we have our next book club meeting."
"Sure, you're free tomorrow?"
"Wait … what?"
You wanted to laugh, say that he's joking and get him to give up but the serious expression on his face confirmed that he was interested. More than that, he would read more books with you.
"I'm serious. Look … I'm not gonna lie, at first I wanted to have sex."
It shouldn't surprise you. It really shouldn't. This was an expectation whenever you hung out with men who wanted a quick fuck. Basically a fuck boy but somehow you were surprised and taken aback by the fact that he outright admitted his true intentions. You wished you could be disgusted but instead you felt … vindicated.
"But when you started reading and then I took over, I enjoyed reading. I especially enjoy the conversation we're having, which surprises me as much as it might surprise you. I could be satisfied just reading a book with you, tonight."
You blinked once. Blinked twice, ruminating over his words. You least expected this outcome. Did your outfit work all too well? You look down at your clothes before looking up at Sukuna, just perplexed and befuddled. Sukuna seemed to reveal something to you which made him incredibly more attractive to you.
"You're not just saying that to guilt trip or manipulate me?"
"I might look like an asshole but … I'm not just saying that without any meaning. I'm serious."
This time he called you by your actual name, not that god awful nickname. He was serious. Dead serious. Somehow that made him more attractive. You shook your head harshly to knock that thought out of your head. You were in some kind of mood. Sukuna watched you rather nervously.
"Right. Well … I guess … thank you for being honest."
Sukuna gave a nod as he turned the book in his hands, changing the topic back.
"Well thanks for reading this book to me. I guess we agree to disagree on this book. Although I still find that argument scene hot. Especially when she grazes her teeth on his dick. Shit had my dick twitch."
At the mention of his dick, your eyes dropped down to see the imprint of it against his right thigh. What the fuck? Your eyes widen slightly, looking at his imprint. He looked like he had quite a bit of length on him.
"You liked the teeth? Isn't that like a no-no in blowjobs?"
Sukuna shrugged, looking up and answering the question.
"There is no rulebook on how to give a blowjob. You just go with the way you feel. Never really considered the thought of teeth on my dick but this book proved me wrong. Would be nice if a girl was rough with my dick."
At that moment a challenge was presented in front of your eyes. Somehow you felt the urge to be that girl. To be Sukuna's girl, even if it was just for one night and if he never called again. All your logic and reasoning went out the window and you only live once.
Sukuna watched you curiously get inside your head, wondering what you were planning. He exhaled looking down at his phone to see the time.
"Well, it's getting very late Rosy and I'm hungry. Want to order some -"
He was about to get up when you stood up and pushed him back onto his double sofa. What was going on with you as Sukuna watched you get on your knees, his eyes widened.
"Hey! What are you-"
You pressed your hand against Sukuna's mouth, your other hand drawing circles on his knee.
"For the record, this is out of my own volition. Can I …"
You trailed off, almost feeling embarrassed to say what you wanted to do to him. Your bravery was all over the place and Sukuna quirked a curious eyebrow. He couldn't believe this was happening and he didn't even initiate it. He didn't know whether to stop or carry on. Either way he felt like a dick and he was going to be an inconsiderate dick.
Sukuna gently pried your hand off his mouth, holding it and fiddling with your fingers.
"Can you what? Come on say what you were gonna say, Rosy?"
You huff through your nose and bite your lip. Now you definitely weren't going to say it as Sukuna grinned. You were the type of girl to live in fantasies so he truly didn't expect you to follow through as he brought his hand onto your shoulders.
"You know this is very cute but … I'm fine with just reading. Don't strain yourself."
You hated this placating tone, like Sukuna wouldn't believe you and let you do what you wanted and this made your nose scrunch in anger.
"Fine. Can I give you a rough blowjob or are you gonna be a difficult piece of shit?"
"Well shit, Rosy. You didn't have to be such a brat but I appreciate you asking for permission."
Sukuna watched you as he gestured for you to go ahead, his eyes trailed down from your eyes to your nose, mouth and neck. He was gonna let you have your way with him as he watched you unbutton the jeans, unzipping the fly and tugging slightly so that his jeans were off his butt.
You could see the dick more clearly as you noticed it was not only long but quite girthy. It was half erect which offended you as you brought your finger to stroke along the length. Sukuna flinched at your sudden touch, watching your finger stroke him through his boxers and making it rouse to life.
This was your first blow job. Heck, this was the first time you've ever done anything sexual except for masturbating and even that was … You've read books and watched porn. You could do this. Somehow you weren't too fussed about giving your virginity to someone special. You could do this. You didn't care about your first as long as you found someone to be a lifelong last.
Hooking your index finger into his waistband, you tugged it down, almost getting smacked in the face by the sudden growth. Even more, he was circumcised, and trimmed. Sukuna was a shower for sure, looking up at him and connecting your eyes with his.
"Are you waiting for something Rosy?"
"Nah, just wanted to see if you were watching carefully."
Sukuna huffed a laugh, leaning his head back before shuffling down slightly to get his dick to brush your lips.
"Oh, I'm intending to watch everything, Rosy, especially if you're planning to use your teeth. Lemme know if you need help."
You frowned at his words, deciding to just go for it as you leaned forward to purse your lips around his tip, you begin suckling on it, pushing your tongue down to lick up his length. Making your mouth water more so that your saliva drips down as you slowly push more of his dick into your mouth.
His hands clenched the cushions of his sofa, his nose let out short breaths as he watched you slobber over his dick like a dog on a bone. You had no experience for sure but somehow this was so much better than any blowjob he had received. Your inexperience was driving him crazy as he watched your saliva droop down.
For sure you were a messy girl as you took Sukuna's dick out of your mouth, licking up and down before spitting on it and retaking it into your mouth. You bring your teeth down and gently graze against his frenulum which made him yelp. An interesting sound as you repeated your action.
This was way better and somehow his heart pumped faster every time your teeth pinch the length. You could bite down and somehow the potential pain of that made him grow so hard, and before he knew it, he was whining. He's never whined or whimpered. Your teeth teased at his girth, threatening to bite down which almost had him arch his back.
Watching Sukuna react like that made you push harder, licking down to where his balls were. You kissed them before gulping them into your mouth and sucking at them like they were a melon ball. Precum was starting to pool at the slit of his penis which surprised him because it took Sukuna longer to get to an orgasm stage.
There was something different about you as you noticed the white viscose cum on his tip. You licked at it, finally tasting what you've only read about. It wasn't great and it wasn't awful. It was salty and you began to suck his tip again in the hopes to get him to produce more.
"Shit, Rosy. Stop teasing."
Sukuna was at his whims end as he watched you guzzle his dick like it was ice cream. You weren't teasing at all in fact you wanted to try to fit him into your mouth as you sat up straighter and brought your head down. Slowly swallowing his cock to try to deep throat him.
Unfortunately you had a terrible gag reflex that made you pull up immediately, Sukuna jerked in surprise as he watched you pull away, gagging. You were an overachiever which made him grin with glee at your grumpy pout. He patted your cheek to reassure you.
"Hey Rosy, don't be so grumpy. You're doing well."
You mimicked his words and tried again but failed once again as your gag reflex made you pull up. Sukuna exhaled exasperatedly, grabbing both your cheeks to make your attention face him.
"Why are you being a brat? You clearly cannot deepthroat me so don't do that again."
"Or what?"
You were in that kind of mood as Sukuna almost guffawed in laughter. One of his hands slid down to press just below your jawline. A shiver ran down your body as Sukuna leaned in, quoting from the book.
"Or I'll fuck that throat so hard that you lose your voice."
You bit back a smile, the logic of that made no sense and you just found it funny which made Sukuna curiously tilt his head and tighten his grip on your neck.
"That funny?"
"I mean … that is so not possible."
Sukuna pursed back a smile, bowing his head slightly so he could not laugh at your words. You were by far the funniest most interesting lay, he was for sure never going to make this a one time thing as he looked up and into your eyes, trying to maintain that serious tone.
"Oh yeah, wanna bet?"
"Totally."
Sukuna shaked his head and huffed out a laugh, leaning his head back and palming his face. You and your terrible sense of humour got to him.
"Goddamn it Rosy, I'm tryna set a mood here."
You shrugged and were about to return to sucking Sukuna's dick when he shook his head and pulled you up by your shoulders. Standing up and lifting you in his strong arms, pressing his lips onto yours. His tongue licked around your mouth, taking in his own taste.
He blindly guided you to his own room, stepping on top of his own bed to lay you down. There was no more patience in Sukuna as he let go of your lips to fully undress and show his full nude body. This time you noticed that he was covered in tattoos, all over his chest and arms and legs. You were surprised there weren't any on his dick.
"I see you admiring me Rosy."
"Nah, just wondering why your dick ain't tattooed?"
"Just cause I didn't. Now I'mma ask this once: can I be your first?"
You blinked in surprise, how'd he know you were a virgin. There was no way he should have been able to tell that. You clear your throat and unbutton your shirt.
"What kinda question is that? You're not my first."
This was funny to Sukuna as he broke out into a full blown laughter. It took a few minutes for him to settle before he loomed over you making your thighs rest on his hips as his nose brushed against yours.
"Don't try to be funny. It's actually cute that you're a virgin. Don't worry, I'll take care of you."
Sukuna pulls off your shirt and skirt, raising an eyebrow at your fox print bra and underwear. At least you were wearing matching underwear as Sukuna snapped the band of your panties against your waist.
"So this is the new kind of lingerie nowadays. You're just getting cuter by the minute."
You frowned, you weren't cute, you were sexy and you had enough of Sukuna's cockiness as you brought your hands to his shoulders, shoving him to roll onto his back. Bringing your whole body to straddle him and have your pussy press against his cock which made the both of you shiver.
"Think I'm cute now?"
By instinct, your hips began to slowly roll on his cock gradually increasing in speed which made Sukuna huff and whimper, the only thing he could hold onto was your hips. You had your hands on his chest to steady yourself. This was way better than anything you imagined as your head lolled back in pleasure.
Sukuna too was enthralled in the act, there was something about you that was making his cool dominant demeanour just fade away as you began to hump him faster. He brought a thumb down to rub rapid circles on your clit which had you convulse and beg.
"Sukuna! Fuck!"
"Shit!"
You were being brought closer to the edge by Sukuna's thumb as you gyrated your hips faster until you shuddered with pleasure. Finally reaching your high, followed by Sukuna who's cum spread: a little bit on your underwear, his stomach, his chest and his lower jaw.
You were lost in pleasure as your head rolled back and forth, Sukuna was also feeling a little out of breath but he had enough energy for one more round, this time he was going inside. He blindly reached into his bedside drawer to pull out a red bottle of lube. He squirted some onto his hand and fingers, spreading a little more onto his penis.
Sliding your underwear to a side, you let out a broken gasp at the intrusion of Sukuna's lubed fingers inside your vagina. Thrusting them a few times to get you used to the feel before sliding them out and grabbing the base of his penis. In your orgasmic daze you noticed his hand on his penis.
To help him, you shift forward slightly and guide the penis inside you. Full on moaning uncontrollably whilst one of your hands dug and yanked Sukuna's hair.
"Fuck Rosy, gonna be the death of me."
You smiled and gave a nod, finally sitting down onto his dick. He fit snugly inside thanks to the lube as your gushy walls clenched at the feel of his dick inside you. This was way better than any book you've ever read. You were way better than any woman Sukuna fucked.
It felt incredible and warm being inside you, Sukuna was never going to let you go. However something seemed to snap in your head as you squealed and pulled yourself out, hopping off the bed and going through the drawers before tossing a foil packet on Sukuna's chest.
"Fuck, you forgot protection."
Sukuna huffed with a smirk, ripping open the foil and rolling the condom on himself.
"Shut up!"
"Virgin. Totally called it."
You got back on the bed, this time sliding onto Sukuna's dick again, your insides clenched and relaxed at the feel of him inside you. A hiss left his lips, planting his feet on the bed and making you bounce up and down as if you were on those bouncy balls.
Your nails dug into Sukuna's shoulders as you couldn't control your movements, feeling like a toy. No wonder the female protagonists in the books you read were pushed to their limits in sex because sex itself was tiring. Sukuna had his eyes closed and teeth gritted whilst sweat was sticking like water droplets on his skin.
Once again feeling a little offended, you brought your right hand onto his neck, squeezing as hard as you could to get his attention.
"Hey! Sukuna! Keep your eyes open! Thought you were gonna watch everything."
He opened his eyes which made you notice that he had dark brown eyes like the bark of trees in a forest. It was the warmest kindest thing you saw from him as you watched Sukuna take your fingers to scoop some of the cum that was about to dry on his skin, moving your fingers into his mouth and sucking off his own taste.
"Don't worry, I'm not missing anything."
A few more thrusts and you were close to cumming which disappointed you. For some unknown deep embedded reason, you wanted Sukuna to cum first, to tire out first. Just anything to get rid of that placating confidence. You needed to delay your orgasm and the best way to do that was to completely move away.
Immediately you got off Sukuna, huffing and puffing rather tiredly which made Sukuna groan in disappointment. He couldn't believe that you pulled yourself off again, as he turned his face to watch you only, for you to climb back on him, slide him in and go again.
Sukuna tilted his head in confusion, unsure of what you're playing at. Although he could feel himself getting close to the edge, he was about to move his hand down to squeeze at the base of his penis to delay his orgasm but you grabbed his wrist and pressed it down beside his head. You did the same to his other hand.
Thrusting harder and uncontrollably, Sukuna was getting very close to spilling as he hissed through his teeth.
"Fuck Rosy! Stop! I'm gonna-"
"Go 'head. I want ya to."
This was what you were playing at as Sukuna knowingly grinned. Instead he dug deep into himself to mentally block himself from coming but the sound of your words snapped him out.
"Oh Sukuna! Fuck! You feel so good!"
You were playing dirty. Talking loudly, holding his hands down and bouncing on him. Truthfully, he could overpower you, and really fuck you hard. However you were the one who initiated the sex, so you were the one in control. Sukuna was fine with that and next time he could get the upper hand and really mess you up.
You could have this one as Sukuna exhaled deeply, ejaculating into the condom. He came harder than before and somehow he felt a little more exhausted. He looked down to where you were joined, watching his penis disappear into you and it wasn't long until you reached your high. Your vagina got wetter and started dripping down his condom.
Your arms and legs started to burn slightly as you dropped yourself onto Sukuna's chest making him huff in pain at your sudden drop. His eyes furrowed in confusion, tapping your shoulder and calling your name to see if you were still awake. You hummed slightly which made Sukuna exhale in relief.
"Hey, wake up. Gotta dispose the condom."
You frowned rather tiredly but rolled yourself off him and beside him. Taking deep breaths to cool down your skin, looking to your left to see Sukuna take off the condom and tie the end with a knot. His legs felt like they were glued to his sheets, he broke out in a smile and wiped his forehead. There was a small bucket which he used as a bin, he tossed the condom as it landed inside.
Sukuna glanced back at you, seeing you take deep heavy breaths. You were tired out like him.
"How was that for your first night?"
"That wasn't my-" You cut off at the look on Sukuna's face. There was no point lying. "It was … good. You?"
Sukuna laughed heartily, heart warm from you asking him how it was.
"I mean, I cannot feel my legs so … it was really really good, Rosy."
Your heart swelled from the praise as you bit your bottom lip and looked away which made Sukuna grin because you were shying away again. He brought his hands onto your waist to make you lie on top of him, stretching his hand out to pull the sheet over both of your waists.
"Why'd you call me Rosy?"
"Aw don't look away Rosy."
Sukuna shrugged, his fingers coming up to stroke at your cheeks.
"Cause I like how flustered you were when I called for your attention for the first time."
That was clever of him and flattering as you gave a nod. Sukuna grinned, bringing your chin up to give you a peck on the lips.
"So same thing for tomorrow's book club?"
You raised an eyebrow, bringing your finger to trace at Sukuna's lips.
"I never agreed."
"Come on Rosy. We need to read a book that's not so … lackluster as you so put it."
There was something about Sukuna that just made you roll your eyes but agree as you give a short nod.
"Okay fine. But we are strictly reading."
"Says the one who initiated this."
"I did not-"
"Really? I told you I was just fine reading but you said it yourself: 'I'm doing this out of my own volition.'"
You laugh breathlessly, agreeing and not contesting his words.
"Okay fine. But we are not recreating book scenes if we do end up having sex."
"Ugh, stop acting like a virgin now."
You smack Sukuna on his shoulder which makes him squeeze your thighs, staring down into your eyes whilst raising his eyebrows. You technically hadn't recreated a sex scene as Sukuna informs you.
"Well if you wanna get technical: we only recreated an oral technique. We've still yet to recreate a sex scene. Did I tell you that I have an office for my company? We can do the office scene there."
"We're gonna have sex, again?"
"I mean …it's only a suggestion."
It sounded like a challenge again as you pierce your eyes together. Somehow you manage to gain some strength in your body as you push yourself to sit up on his thighs.
"Why wait for your office when we can just go ahead and recreate the bedroom scene? This time following - it - exactly."
He liked where you were going with this as he nudged your body to shuffle forward slightly.
"Sure, why not? But you're gonna have to scoot up and take a seat on my face because I still can't feel my legs."
