I know book Alec is a really controversial character, but like I don’t think that his character development is talked about enough? Like he went from a closeted boy who never killed a demon to a guy who became consul of the clave and wanted to be known for changing the law just so he could give his long-term boyfriend a respectable wedding ceremony. Lets not forget he is the go to shadowhunter for downworlder issues and he is now comfortable to talk about magnus’ past life/lovers and he has accepted that he may only be able to give Magnus a small amount of time, but he will dedicate that time to making him as happy as possible. I understand everybody’s issues with Alec in the beginning of tmi but I just haven’t seen a lot of posts appreciating his character development as a whole.
