Qrow, summer, and raven a fan theory
Okay so hear me out first time posting a speculation ever but here are some. Following the theory that Qrow is Ruby’s dad. And Ruby’s mom is summer rose - buts she’s dead and we don’t know how Yangs mom is super in distress and quiet about how she became a maiden. And seeing as we’re told that a maiden passes her powers by thinking of someone female before passing. Summer rose was an initial maiden- therefore would have trusted and loved raven. - and it’s hinted raven had to do what was Nessicary to become one, because the original was to fragile Meaning potentially we have a case of raven killing summer. But summer rose having the same personality as ruby ( as stated by raven in the second last episode of season 5 I think it was ) and giving her power over regardless? The only question is then how did it get past Ozpin. Or did he know ? And then loose track of it after Ruby’s mom died. So not only was summer grey eyed but also a maiden? I think this will also play a huge role in character development - as we know it’s hinted in the season 5 finale that yang has already figured out the answer to her mother’s turmoil. So does she really figure this out to true? If then how does this affect her relationship with her mom and even ruby ? Especially as so far things are pointing to a mother daughter bond beginning to happen. But who knows ?

Emerald will become a much more dangerous villain
Up until now, it's been clear Emerald has only gone along with Salem and co. for Cinder's sake. However, Cinder's apparent death now gives her a reason to get personally invested. Combine her how powers already make her a game-changer to whichever side she's on, and the display at the end of V5 (which suggests her powers are growing), she'll become increasingly dangerous to the heroes. It might involve some kind of training under Salem, who'd be all to happy to encourage her hatred, and Taking A Level In Badass.

In relation to this theory ^^ What if instead of him being scared and it’s undiscovered, what if his semblance is activated by water and THAT’S why he’s afraid of the ocean? What if the ocean doesn’t scare him, but his semblance does?

Cinder's coming back (to restore her honor)
When Cinder was defeated by Raven, we didn't see an aura fly out towards the new host of the fall maiden powers. I'm not sure how Cinder would have survived, but I refuse to believe she's dead (she's one of my favorite villains, and she hasn't gotten enough air time yet).
Personally, I think she'll get a chance at redemption, where Ruby decides to trust her and let her join the fight against Salem. Especially since Cinder knows where Salem is and might have some insight into how to beat her.
It could be that I'm just drawing some similarities between her and another character from another awesome show, though...
I mean, RWBY does draw inspiration from all sorts of stories, right?

There is something off about Qrow's story about the 2 brothers
Qrow's story about the two brothers who created the world explains that the second brother created the Grimm as the ultimate enemy of all living things...which is interesting...save for one major inconsistency. If we go all the way back to the WOR episode, Grimm, all the way back in Volume 2 (narrated by Salem no less), we have an explicit statement that the Grimm specifically target and attack humans (and presumably faunus) and that their only conflicts with various animals are largely territorial in nature. This flies completely in the face of Qrow's story about the two brothers, which means one of two things. Either the story is inaccurate in some fashion, having been changed as it was passed down and retold throughout the ages, which, when it comes to legends, is something that happens a lot in real life. The other possibility is that this is an accurate story of where the Grimm came from and something about them changed over the course of time.

Ruby’s silver eyes are actually a form of Anti-Magic.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AntiMagic
According to Qrow, the warriors with silver eyes were natural enemies of the Grimm. However, Salem reveals (and Cinder demonstrates) that the Maidens are susceptible to the silver eyes as well. Now what could the Grimm and the Maidens possibly have in common…unless…both are products of magic. The Maidens were empowered by the wizard, AKA Ozpin, and given what is explicitly described as magic. With the Grimm, it would be harder to explain, except that Volume 3 and the way that Cinder steals Amber’s powers, as well as her use of a Grimm arm to try and steal the powers of the Spring Maiden from Vernal/Raven, as well as the weird sigils that occur in conjunction with the former event, which make a reappearance with the Geist RNJR fights at the beginning of Volume 4 suggest that the Grimm are a product of magic as well. Salem is actually an evil counterpart to Ozpin’s wizard and the Grimm are not only magical constructs themselves but also the base for Salem’s own magic. Hence, the reason Ruby’s powers are effective against both is because the silver eyes are a power that negates or outright destroys magic and those affected by magic…which may explain why Ozpin in Oscar, has not made any effort to further awaken Ruby’s power, as her using it around an explicitly magical being might not have the best effects.

jaune is from atlas/mantle
Jaune has mentioned he has seven sisters a few times through out the series. The Seven Sisters is another name for the Pleiades star cluster, which is  named after the seven daughters of Atlas  so  jaune is from atlas/mantle

Ruby can weaponize her contrails with Dust
.“No Brakes” shows Blake loading Dust into Gambol Shroud, changing her afterimage clones into stones, sculptures, bombs and hazes. Considering that a side-effect of Ruby’s Semblance is flying rose petals, loading Dust into Crescent Rose would probably change the contrails. Perhaps literal trailblazing with Fire Dust, trail freezing with Ice Dust, raising stalagmites with Earth Dust, powering up storms with Wind Dust, increasing her speed even more with Energy Dust and providing shadow cover with Dark Dust?

Is there a growing trend in injured Cat Faunus?
Am I the only one concerned with the growing number of Cat Faunus getting injured and/or killed in the show?
  I mean, think about it!
First Tukson kicked the can because of Emerald and Mercury, then Blake was stabbed by Adam, then Adam killed Sienna Khan, Ghira got stabbed in the back by one of the creepy twins (I refuse to call them by name, they were only awesome plot devices in season 4), and then Kali, well, almost got hurt (she kicked ass!).
That’s a total of 5 cat Faunus’s that were injured in the show total.
It makes me feel concerned for Neon from team FNKI. I mean after all team RWBY, the remaining members of team JNPR, Qrow and Oscar are all heading to Atlas next. I’d love to see her again, but I’m almost worried that wishing for her appearance would be a death sentence (LOL).
Do you agree with me? Or can we agree to disagree? Up to you! Just hope you enjoyed my theory!

The Javelin
[EDIT: Image removed. Reason: Fanart not credited]
In volume 5 when, well, this happened, it made me wonder if there’s a possible connection between the Javelin Cinder used to hurt Weiss, to the one Pyrrha Nikos used before she died…
There have been many creative works made since the end of season three, but some of the most interesting one’s in my opinion are those that suggest that the memories, or heck even the souls of Amber, Pyrrha and/or more reside within the new spring maiden, or in this case, Cinder fall.  It’s always been a neat idea in my mind, and it certainly seems plausible in a world where Ozpin and Oscar can share a body.
But the question still remains, could this have happened to Cinder when she stole the powers rather than having them transferred because of a special connection between her and Amber?
The comic above is one of my favorites, entitled “Why do you have her eyes?”, done by Omnipotrent on Devianart.
In it, the plot suggests that Cinder is now struggling to balance out the memories and feelings of Amber and Pyrrha, who now inhabiting her body. The idea intrigued me, but I think it’s clear it’s clear from RWBY volume 5 chapter 11 that this probably isn’t the case, although I don’t want to completely cast aside the idea, especially when you compare these two photos below.
You can’t deny there’s a similarity between the Javelins, no matter how minuscule.
So if my theory is correct, the question still remains as to why Cinder didn’t recognize Jaune.
Well if I had to make a guess, it could be that some of Pyrrha’s memories or experiences were given to Cinder, but not all of them, nor the emotions behind them. Especially considering the fact Pyrrha was never technically a maiden to begin with, although the general idea is that Pyrrha’s and Amber’s auras bonded for a short period of time, especially given the photo below.
If this theory is correct, then we can probably safely assume that Cinder picked up on Pyrrha’s fighting skills, but probably just that, seeing as she has none of our beloved heroines traits (like a soul).

Oz and the great war
I recently saw someone point out the similarities between the relic of knowledge and the symbol used for Haven so here's some things that I noticed about the Great War short. Firstly, the 'sword' he used in the final battle was the relic of destruction, thus the result of the battle, and Ozpin going into seclusion over the guilt he felt from it (which is why he appointed someone else to watch over Vale's academy instead of doing it himself). The idea of the sword being a relic makes sense given that we've seen Oz fight plenty and he's never used a sword along with his cane, not even a random sword on hand, so it's clearly not part of him fighting at his 'strongest', the cane is all he needs for that. With this in mind, something else stands out.
See, in The Great War, the king was green the entire time, the sword he used in the final battle however was yellow, if you pay attention the crown he wore throughout the whole short was also yellow, combine with with the before mentioned theory about the symbols of the kingdoms dealing with the relics stored there and it becomes clear that Vale (with the relic of choice) would be keeping the crown.

ozpins group are meant to be distorted reflections of the oz characters
While much has been said about Ozpins' group taking cues from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, a closer look shows that they are more like distorted reflections of the Oz characters;
While the Wizard of Oz was an ordinary man posing as a supernatural being who was thrust into his authority by the people, Ozpin is a supernatural being posing as an ordinary man who built an entire conspiracy dedicated to keeping him in power.
Glinda the Good Witch was more powerful than Oz, but content to rule her own territory and leave him to his own business. Glynda Goodwitch acts as Ozpin's Number Two at Beacon Academy, and while she may not have agreed with his decisions privately, always differed to his will.
The Scarecrow believed himself to be brainless, he had numerous good ideas throughout the journey. Qrow Branwen, while Ozpin's chief scout and good at information gathering, tends to be rather listless without Ozpin's direction. In Volume 5, he figures out where the Spring Maiden is, but unwittingly gives it to Leo despite A) Leo hasn't been very trustworthy lately (Not checking in, allowing terrorists to infiltrate the schools, leaving Haven unprotected) and B) The bad guys have shown they can hack the Kingdom's computers as demonstrated with Atlasian Knights. This allows Salem's group to learn and track down the Spring Maiden.
The Tin Woodsman is so sympathetic that he would cry over squashed bugs, despite being built without a heart as he believed. General Ironwood, while good intentioned, lets cold logic dictate his actions. In Volume 4, he isolates Atlas more and more from the world, because he doesn't want to risk it being invaded, and is becoming more of a tyrant in order to protect the people.
The Lion thinks he's a coward because of his fear, but that never stopped him from doing dangerous things when push came to shove. Leo Lionheart is so cowed by Salem's power and fearful of his own life that he has basically sold out all of the Huntsmen in his Kingdom to her forces, and even considers giving Ozpin reincarnation to her if it means being allowed to escape the conflict.
