Can't you hear me yell-a, you're putting me through Hell-a, Stella...STELLA! This is the first Tumblr account I've had since Superwholock - I didn't understand Tumblr then and I don't understand it now. I draw, I write and sometimes I have witty-ish observations about things. Mostly Star Trek and dance/ballet sketches.聽
Just one more - me and my birthday twins, in our Starfleet uniforms, or the closest thing Garak has to one. Happy birthday to me, Andrew Robinson and Simon Pegg. Still can't draw Simon Pegg very well 馃槙
Maybe my brain's come back (temporarily, just for Threshold Day) or maybe I've had this coffee-stained bit of card hanging around for a while now with no idea what to do with it, and the stain pattern kind of looked like a coastline which gave me a glimmer of an idea...
There's coffee, watercolour, fountain pen, felt tip brush pen, everything you want in a multimedia mess of a Threshold post. I have no idea which lizards are Paris and Janeway and which are the kids, but this probably takes place right before Chakotay abandons the babies.
I wanted to do something for Threshold Day but my brain has sort of taken leave of my body (surprisingly, that's the least insane way I can put it) so here's the same post as last year! Happy Threshold Day!
Went to this fancy hipster cafe this weekend and they were serving cake on these plates...I'm sure they just thought they were weird and quirky and they definitely don't remind me of anything REALLY FUCKING WEIRD
Oooh, this is near where I went to uni! Never thought I'd get to talk about my uni experience on main but here goes:
It's mostly for kids, but every Wednesday evening was adult/student night, probably to coincide with uni social night. I was in dance squad and every semester or so, instead of our usual drinking-games-at-a-bar-then-on-to-the-club social, we'd have a Big Fun social. By far the biggest demographic there was students, specifically uni sports teams and societies, but there were other groups of young adults there too, mostly for birthday parties and such. Me and my squad of 20 or so giddy dancers had an absolute whale of a time. Highlights included "the death drop," an almost vertical slide going into a ball pool, the racing slides (5 slides next to each other where you can race your friends down them) and the trampolines just outside the soft play area.
They had a small dining area clearly designed for small children where I think they served food and drinks but I never bothered with that so idk much about it.
After we were done being childish in Big Fun, we'd go out to a bar, get shit faced, then move on to a club and dance the night away. Great times!
Annual "Andy Robinson is totally my birthday twin" post, except quite recently I found out Simon Pegg also shares our birthday so he's joined the party this year as Scotty from the AOS movies. He drank us both under the table.
OK, OK, this is the last one, I promise. No salamanders in this, but hear me out...what if the doctor worked whatever reset button magic he worked on Kathryn and Tom on the babies? And then they raise them as human children? I'm not sure who suggested the names Kathryn Jr, Tom Jr and Harry, but I'm going with them because I suck at coming up with names.
Here we have Kathryn Jr, who, despite taking after her mother in looks, is a daddy's girl at heart. As a budding pilot, her favourite thing to wear is her little flight suit and she loves logging hours in Voyager's flight simulator. Much to her disappointment, she isn't old enough to go out in a real shuttle yet (Kathryn Sr is quite insistent on this point), but her father has promised her to take her out on her first ride as soon as she comes of age and train her up to become a proper pilot.
Tom Jr has lofty dreams of one day becoming Captain - whether on Voyager or a different ship if they make it home. He knows every nook and cranny of the ship and loves to speak to crew members about their jobs, even if he doesn't always understand the answers. Kathryn Sr, along with her senior crew, are giving Tom Jr a kind of unofficial training program so he can become an officer one day, then work his way into command and even take over from his mother should the need arise. If mothers had favourites, Kathryn Sr's would be Tom Jr.
Harry, much like his namesake, is kind of a nerd but isn't sure what he wants to do yet, mostly because he is literally a child. His interests include reading, logging hours in the holodecks and music, as well as hanging out with his siblings. He shows a certain flair for science and engineering, both of which are potential future career paths. Despite a current lack of direction, the Janeway-Parises love their little jack of all trades and are sure such a multi-talented person can only be an asset to the ship. There's also no reason for him to be dressed in any specific way but when I got to colouring him I realised I had a colour scheme going.
It's not a hand-knitted plush or a stained glass window, but I wanted to do something in honour of Threshold Day...so, I present to you, an AU where they kept the babies but couldn't turn Janeway and Paris back to humans.
The babies are chilling in their tank, Chakotay cuddles with Janeway just like he always wanted and I wasn't sure if it should be Harry or B'ellana hanging with Tom so naturally I went with both. They're probably watching cartoons or something. I guess Janeway, Paris and the babies all sleep in the tank together and the babies get to run around outside the tank sometimes and wreak havoc.
Happy Threshold Day, my fellow weirdos (affectionate) 鉂わ笍
