Welcome to my wall of creativity. Most of the stuff I post are projects I've worked on, currently custom painted rpg miniatures. Message me for commissions.
This is my party for a Spelljammer campaign I’m playing in. We work on a Spelljammer ship for a cargo transportation company, and make various side hustle stops along the routes, which can bring up the question, “are we pirates?” Its very questionable, but we’re definitely headed in that direction!
The party (left to right)
- Moony - goblin swashbuckling rogue/scribe wizard. Has a sneaky thirst for espionage to help take out the bad guys.
- Macie - human Ranger that loves plants and hates animals…yet has a giant bumble bee companion (a pollinator). She also seems to have a lot of secrets.
- Oskar - the plasmoid healing monk and ship’s captain. Through him, we’ve learned how oozes go to the bathroom and store coins (inside them). He’s on the quest to be THEE ONE Oscar.
- Reathe - air genasi sorlock. Sometimes the more diplomatic of the party.
I used the opportunity to see HOW fast I can paint with Army Painter SpeedPaints on some slightly misprinted minis I had. Each started out with a zenithal prime, but one was airbrushed that way (the kenku) vs dry brushed on. You can see how well the smother transition of the airbrushed zenithal works for the cape.
The werewolf went a little darker than I’d like, but they can’t all be brown werewolves!
And Doggoz up top, I wasn’t sure what colors to paint him. I’m also limited to the SpeedPaint colors currently available. I doubt he’d dress to coordinate colors anyway.
I painted this Duncan Shadow Louca Titan using pieces of failed prints (I was having a zillion issues with my Ender 3, but finally got it working again). So rather than letting the pieces go to waste, I built this guy and painted him! I could have filled in the gaps and smoothed out the layer lines, but I didn’t have the patience. I just wanted to do a decent paint job. And I’m actually pretty happy with it!
*Fun fact. I finished the whole new Emily Blunt series “The English” on Amazon Prime while painted this. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing because that’s 6 1-hour episodes! 😅
I’ve been trying to paint as many Halloween themed minis I have in my collection as I can before 10/31. Here’s how far I’ve gotten so far! All Reaper Miniatures.
I’ve finally been repainting the last of the metal D&D minis found at Walmart. I had to strip them with automotive paint remover (that’s the only thing I found to work!). Then I repainted them all to match their official source art!
I painted this Nalfeshnee model by Duncan Shadow Louca that I printed. I tried to match to the D&D source art and gave some gloss varnish to the wounds and exposed bits. It’s now available in my Etsy shop!
I had another misprinted Xantaras, Eye Tyrant (Artisan Guild model) that I needed to salvage. So I made him an injured beholder. And I tried using the new Army Painter SpeedPaints on it, though I had to do a lot of reworking. Anyway, if you need a bright injured beholder in your game or on your shelf, it’s available in my Etsy shop!
I got the new SpeedPaints by Army Painted and wanted to give them a try on 2 misprinted Sea King prints (EC3D models). The right example is with the SpeedPaints, the left is normal paints. I’m not sure if I used them right, but I made them work, I think?
I painted TWO Boneclaws! One like the way the tutorial from the Paint Kit suggests and the other they way I normally paint. Check out the video to see which might be better.
