Makes me feel a bit crazy how Komaeda is, at his core, a deeply selfless person whose only wish is to help the people around him prosper at his own cost, while simultaneously being jealous of everyone around him for being able to achieve happiness when he believes it's so out of reach for him. And Kamukura is someone who lacks a sense of self who only exists through the selfish actions of another, and is continually used by other people throughout the rest of his short existence. Both are instruments and mediums that are used to express and execute others' wills but they differ in the fact that Komaeda comes from a genuine but misguided place of naive trust and "love" (heavy quotations) for other people and wants to be a stepping stone because of that own free will, and Kamukura is routinely denied his free will and his only wish is to break free from such. Komaeda longs for a boring, safe, and happy existence and Kamukura needs an unstable, exciting, and volatile existence but both are innately doomed to never be able to achieve their ideal world. They make me so crazy
