got distracted writing and did not see this but

this one is more angsty to me bc i like the idea that they're already brothers, like established family type thing, and that witchcraft is something you dont choose but is chosen for you (tw for angst, mentions of hurting ones self, and definitely not an allegory for my own queerness)

so the night tommy is alone in his room, gets frustrated at something, and suddenly the lights in his room are flickering?

hes devestated. he begs it to not be true. he has never been a religious person, but that night he fucking prays.

and in the morning, wilbur is talking excitedly about how his last outing went, and how they were able to take down another witch, and every word feels like a stab in tommy's gut but he has to play along, he cant let wilbur know, his brother, who he adores and looks up to, he cant possibly let him know

so tommy tries to hide it. tries to act like its not real. subdues every magical impulse.

until it becomes too much. subduing natural magic is dangerous, and the results could be deadly if done for too long. so one day, after a particularly stressful evening, he's in his room, pacing the floor, and all of a sudden, he thinks for a moment about his frustration towards himself. and within moments, there's a bright flash of light, his windows are broken, his door's been blown off his hinges. and in the middle of it all, is tommy. laying there, passed out, with magic still pulsing from his hands.

wilbur isn't there when it happens, he's on a mission. but when he comes back to a call from phil telling him tommy's in the hospital, he rushes there immediately. hospital staff have a policy on not reporting any magic users, they know its far more dangerous to do that than to heal them and provide them some brief safety. so when wilbur arrives, and he finds out what happens.

he's devastated. because tommy was hurting himself. because his little brother was a witch, the one thing he worked to get rid of. and he didn't know what to think of it.

until he sees tommy. sees his little brother, pale and passed out in a hospital bed with an IV attached to his hand, and suddenly he feels like sobbing.

he rushes over and takes one of tommy's hands in his own, and is almost at a loss for words, but eventually manages to stutter out

"tommy, why?- why didn't you tell anyone? you were hurting yourself"

tommy's reply is meek, voice barely audible. "i didn't want to disappoint you."

🪴 the sight is even more heartwarming when he sees that you've grabbed one of your favourite clean t-shirts of his from the drawer and placed it over the pillow, with your head buried in the fabric. he'd been staying with the rest of the boys for a couple of days due to long, early morning schedules, so you hadn't seen him since he left for the dorms.

🪴 he knew that it was likely you hadn't ate food yet, so he decided make some cup ramens before waking you up, gently shaking your left shoulder and placing a small peck to your forehead, before gently pulling you up on to your feet. knowing it took a moment for you to be stable on your feet after having woken up unexpectedly, he let you tired frame fall to rest against his chest, before lifting you up like a joey (baby koala) attached to its mother, and walking towards the living room.

🪴 riki was used to seeing you asleep on his side of the bed especially when he got home from late schedules. you were quite a restless sleeper and any time that riki would get out of bed to get a drink or go to the toilet, he'd come back in to see you on his side of the bed, but with being a deep sleeper as well, he'd always manage to gently shuffle your sleeping body over enough to slide back in to bed before you'd roll back over to him.

🪴 that being said, he still finds the sight adorable when you're dressed in one of his hoodies, which is almost like a dress on you, and cuddled into both his pillow and the blanket that swallows your sleeping figure.

🪴 riki would take a picture of your sleeping figure on the polaroid camera you bought him for his birthday and place the picture in the back of his phone case before turning off the bedside lamp you had accidentally left on and pick up the book you must have dropped when you fell asleep earlier that night.

🪴 niki tries not to disturb your sleeping figure as he settles into bed, and is playing on his phone for a little bit until he feels sleepy, but when he does he places his phone down on the bedside table on charge, and snuggles in to your back arms wrapped tightly around your waist and his leg placed over yours.
