It's almost funny how Rhysand can't change the traditional views of Illyrian/CoN men in 500+ years.
but in the Ice Planet Barbarian series, human women get stranded on an ice planet with blue aliens on it, who are basically cavemen, and within a few days they manage to transform the traditional views of the male aliens from woman cook/clean and man hunt/provide to all women are queens and can do whatever they want.

Y'know, Ruan Mei is mildly interesting because we don't actually know if she is or isn't a Xianzhou native.
On one hand, the interest in biological research would add up if she was, especially since she's looking into creating new lifeforms and replicas of older ones- heck, her status as a Genius Society member might even give her some leeway into more taboo studies centered around the Abundance.
On the other hand, she isn't mentioned even once by the Alchemy Commission members we've met (whom I'd assume she has ties to, were she from the Xianzhou), and the biology focus could just be a coincidence. In that case, I'd love to get a name for wherever she's from, because we still don't have any named planets with chinese inspiration, despite knowing of people who hail from such planets (the most prominent example of whom was Yingxing).

This pic was originally drawn in the mindset of "Ludwig gets found directly after Junior," but it's mostly scrapped in that regard.
Lud's behavior, on the other hand, is still fair game. After he's found, he refuses to get within ten feet of the humans despite his siblings' insistence that they're harmless. He starts keeping a Star Trek-style log of his time in the squishy bipeds' care, taking note of everyone's actions in case something fishy happens. Which it never does.
He's especially wary of "the purple one," as Dal's the one usually taking care of Junior and therefore the one who could easily harm the kid or otherwise take advantage of Junior's trust.
But at the same time... he can't help but be curious. He's never seen a "hyoo-man" before, and based on how the gang described their homeworld, it sounds like they're deathworlders. Which doesn't make any sense; deathworlders, like their name implies, are said to be much, much more vicious. All the time.
So why are these ones acting so kind...?

kind of really sad that the borg children didn't really serve a narrative purpose aboard voyager...... they're all gone, the baby wasn't even mentioned past the original episode they were introduced. idk I feel like they should have been shown interacting with other crew members more. 'it takes a village' and all that. they didn't even show them saying goodbye to naomi, like..
all voyager does is create exciting story concepts and then ignore 80% of them. disappointed but not surprised

Its so fun when the doctor lectures the human race on their flaws because he wants them to do better! It's very obvious he cares about them despite their flaws, there's no other species we see him so firmly attach themself to in a positive way. But that doesn't mean it isn't infuriating. Devoting your immortality to protect this one species who doesn't seem to always want to be the best that they can. They so often fall into making the worst mistakes and considering how the doctor has defended them as a species to other species its got to be frustrating. Especially when their downfall comes from their own stupidity

Arcosian Headcanon: Clothing
Due to their ability to adapt under any sort of climate, as well as the fact their genitals are sheathed and therefore not visible, the Arcosian people don't actually need to wear clothing. In fact, the concept of clothing was only just a recent discovery to Arcos via King Cold's influence once he married Queen Froza, as his various conquests brought the planet all kinds of trades and intrigued the nobility, and thereby impacting the masses who sought to emulate them.
Therefore, if you were to attend a gathering with the nobility at the palace, you would find everyone dressed in various foreign fashions. The more expensive and intricate the outfit is, the more the noble will brag about it. Especially if its a rarity, such as the fabrics or style came from a planet whose populace was just wiped out or naturally went extinct, now making it a one-of-a-kind. To the Arcosian nobles, accusations of cultural appropriation or fetishism be damned, foreign clothing shows status and luxury, and they will gladly partake in it.
Because of this cultural trend, the other castes will attempt to emulate the nobles by purchasing more common fabrics or stitching together their own outfits from materials of their home-world's flora and fauna. For the middle class, such as merchants and military, you can occasionally see them in clothing from trades or their army uniform to show off their status and wealth. But for the people in the lower caste (or those who are outright casteless) It is common to see them without clothing.
Of course, there are some who just outright refuse to partake in the trend out of rebellion. Whether because their xenophobia towards foreign species is that strong, a growing resentment towards the nobility for indulging in expensive goods and flaunting it at the other castes, or simple decency to not glorify the appropriation a subjected planet's culture, it all very much varies.
While Cooler himself is not above bringing new crafts and trades to Arcos, he doesn't particularly care to wear clothing and only does so when attending an important royal gathering at his father's request. He finds them particularly restricting, and with how the nobles use them, an utter waste of resources when it could be distributed across all of Arcos, and not just its upper castes. This makes him come across as something of an eccentric individual to the nobility, while the lower castes see him as a cultural rebel and look upon him much more favorably.

I saw a video that made the suggestion that Yingxing’s name isn’t even his real given name and is instead his Xianzhou given one so what if Huaiyan gave Yingxing the name Yingxing
I’ve seen that hc tossed around a lot, and while I have a few ideas of my own based on my hcs for YX’s family, I really do like it a lot :’D especially paired with if Huaiyan finds him and gives him that name as he brings him to the Zhuming
It’s a very very sweet hc and it is the only alternative I take as canon to my own personal hc about his name!!
Here’s to hoping we get more insight into Huaiyan and Yingxing’s dynamic if/when we get more Zhuming lore
