Hello! And yes, I have a few — some settled in The Nox AU, while the rest can work nicely both in canon and any other AU that includes them both as a couple, and really good friends.

Noodle has nicknames she uses to name the boys, ones she came up with when she was a child, and uses regularly to either express her care and appreciation of them, or try and convince them to do anything she wants. She always succeeds. These nicknames are Japanese words that remind her or define the rest of the band. Murdoc is Karasu — Crow. Russel is Haku — White, due to his eyes. And 2D is Chi, which means Blood.

2D's eyes were the first thing 23 saw when she met the boys. They are her favorite thing about Stuart, and likes to get lost in the red of them. They are made of warm Blood and, as such, that became his name.

Both Noodle and 2D share a tattoo of the Chi Kanji. They also have a tattoo of the name of the other — 2D for her, 23 for him.

They love to read The Sandman together. Stuart introduced the comic to Noodle when she was young, and she became obsessed with it. They usually cosplay The Endless, Death being Noodle's favorite.

The mask she used during Plastic Beach (the same one she wears in The Nox AU) used to belong to Stuart, who used it in carnivals when he was a child.

Noodle steals 2D's clothes, and refuses to give them back unless he buys more. That is, of course, so she can steal more.

Noodle's mother was a woman named Sora Misaki. When they found out about this and couldn't contact her, Noodle decided to travel back to Japan and search for her. 2D goes with her.

2D has Marfan Syndrome, which means that his vision is nearly nonexistent — the accidents and the hyphema did not help with this. He has glasses, of course, and he needs them permanently. However, after years being bullied, he decides not to wear them in public. It's a silly thing, really, but also a scar and Noodle tries to heal it. So, she helps him walk without bumping into anything and acts as his eyes when they're in public.

She has made her mission to help 2D understand that he is not alone, that he is not useless, that he is worth more than most people and that he is strong. Anyone who dares to speak a word against him because of his looks or personality will face her anger.

No one wants to be the target of an angry Noodle.

Due to his condition, 2D needs to take beta-blockers to keep his blood pressure in check, along with the pills for his headaches and pain. He usually forgets, so Noodle reminds him to take them every day.

She takes care of him and this, eventually, drives them closer. Noodle knows every need of his, and 2D tries to make it up to her in every way he can.

Their feelings develop naturally, and it takes years and help from their friends to accept them. It is hard, with the life they live and everything they've been trough. Sometimes the differences between them feel abysmal. But they grow and learn together.

When they finally tell the rest of the band they're together (which comes as no surprise) Murdoc frowns and gives two hundred pounds to Ace, who smiles deviously and says "I won".

2D, surprisingly, is a master of the art of flirting. No one can believe it when he decides, all in good fun, that Noodle makes a good teasing target. To his own amazement, she flirts back.

Every Saturday night, 2D and Noodle visit a club downtown and play a little game of theirs: Who can get more phone numbers through the course of the night, both from boys and girls? Noodle wins. Every. Single. Time.

Rachel Pot loves Noodle. They are both passionate, they both protect those they love fiercely, and they both command Stuart to put on his glasses at the same time and with the same posture. Murdoc fears the women, Russel is amused by them and Stuart is torn between hiding from their gaze or hug them both and thank them for their care.

Every once in a while, 2D and Noodle listen to old disco hits all the way from the 70's to the early 2000's — and they listen to them loudly. And dance. A lot. Ace loves to join them, as does Russel, if only to see them make a fool of themselves. Murdoc, however, never joins. Expect for that one time when they all watched, terrified, as he danced to the tune of Barbie girl with all his might.

Hoi, im Reika. Welcome to my blog.! I write Gorillaz headcanons, and here’s my simple do and don’t list. (you may have also known me as Harami. I fell out from the community for quite some time (even fell out of tumblr!) and I’ve slowly but surely been more active.) enjoy.!

What I’m willing to write :

I do Y/N | S/O x Gorillaz characters. Will try my hardest to make them gender neutral as possible, I swear (unless specified gender in request). Also, for a heads up, I do not do Sebastian, Paula, or Hannibal (might change overtime, but don’t get your hopes up).

I also do Character x Character. I don’t really care much who you pair tbh. Though I will not write Noodle in this category as I am uncomfortable with pairing Noodle with the other band members and the others. (Eg. 2nu, NuRuss, NuDoc, ect.)

I do NSFW. I am improving my writing quality on this.

Angst, Platonic, and Smut I also do.

Gore... well why not. I don’t mind, I simply have no experience in writing gore. Just a heads up though, don’t let it discourage you from requesting.

4. what's the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?

I've had to block a lot of people for being annoying but two specific really bad ones come to mind

-the one that kept stealing my girlfriends posts and making worse versions of them! not to mention their characterizations were just bad and woobified (the last straw was stealing a joke she was proud of)

-the person that sent me underaged 2nu porn on anon 🤢🤢🤢 I don't click links from anons anymore because of this (I suspected who it was because of the typing style and mysteriously when I did that I stopped getting those messages :/ you weren't slick) (I confronted him about it and he swore up and down it wasn't him. but obviously it was. pro tip commenting "omg who is this" on every single message from the anon doesnt make you less suspicious) they did a lot leading up to this but the porn was definitely the breaking point

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

i really tried not to make this about Ace again but my brain is hard wired for it I couldn't think of anything else 😭 I can't understand why people like the fanon version of Ace so much. i understand why he exists! but I can still be annoyed with it. it's just so bland compared to his real personality

20. part of canon that you found tedious or boring?

that part of phase 6 where it was just "you get to see 2-D a lot but it's this ugly ass rig of him" and that's what all the ads were for a while. I was about to rip my hair out BFBFBNANS also when they left us in the dark for SO LONG in phase 7 and then infodumped at the end. I was so bored and then so overwhelmed that the story didn't even stick I still don't really know what happened

2D Headcanon

After the band breakup of phase 2 and the events that unfolded at plastic beach, 2D started to distance himself emotionally from the other band members, especially Murdoc. He’s taught himself to live “around” the others and not “with” them so that he can protect himself from being hurt emotionally if not physically. He does this less with Noodle as she was still young during phase 2 and MIA during phase 3 and as such holds no real grudge against her.

so far as i know (i don't know much ''^^) Damon said ALL gorillaz are family. noodle has said that 2d was like a brother/pet to her asa kid so why would fans think he raised her? I know murdoc has called noodle as his daughter but hasn't he also adopted 2d? And murdoc said Russel is like their big brother. Don't they all see each other the same way??? I am seriously confused :<

So, yes I know Damon has said they’re all like a family. The popular opinion is the band raised Noodle because they met her when she was like 10 years old after she was shipped from Japan (literally in a box) to their studio. They took her in and Murdoc discovered she could play the guitar, so she became part of the band.

I’m not sure if you meant to say why “wouldn’t” fans think he raised her, but in that case the main thing with Noodle is when she was like 13 she got separated from the band, and they didn’t see her again until she was around 20 years old. That’s like, a big chunk of time during an important stage in life. For this reason some fans agree that it hardly means the guys raised her, more like Noodle had to raise herself.

I’m not so sure about Murdoc “adopting” 2D? This is the first I’m hearing of that lol. Murdoc has kidnapped 2D plenty of times if that’s what you meant haha. I don’t think they ever “officially” adopted Noodle or anything either. That doesn’t even sound like something they would do. It was probably more like, “Well I guess we live with this 10-year-old now.”

I think it’s one thing to take all the “interviews” and what the creators say at face value, on the surface sure it’s like they’re all a family, but that doesn’t mean fans still can’t play around with “fanon” ideas if they want to. Gorillaz is not exactly a linear story that is followed like a tv show after all. I always saw it as having room for interpretation. Some people can view it like they’re a tight-knit family, or instead that they're all more like roommates. I personally have a hard time seeing them like a “typical” family because in earlier music videos/shorts they don’t get along very well (2D, Murdoc, and Russel at least). Like I know, families always bicker and stuff too, but it’s hard for me to see for example 2D and Murdoc like “brothers”.

I am by no means an expert on the “lore” either but I think Gorillaz is weird enough that it’s one of those pieces of media that allows for more interpretation by the fans. I could read Damon saying they’re family 100 times but I still can’t look at them and be like “Ah yes… a happy family. 3 brothers and 1 sister.” I’m not really sure how to explain it but that's what I feel.

I assume this ask was brought on because of “2nu”?, like “Why do people ship 2nu if they’re family?” (if not I apologize, but that’s where my mind went when I first read this lol). But just like the lore I think all their relationships are up to interpretation as well. Like, in canon Murdoc is pretty nasty to 2D, but people still ship 2Doc, and I’m sure they have their own reasons/headcanons for it. 2nu is a weird case, but as someone who didn’t “grow up” with the band and instead learned about Gorillaz when they were already in Phase 3 (When Noodle is over 18) I thought they looked cute together, so 15-year old me didn’t waste time shipping them haha. Like I know, I’m sure it’s weird for people who have seen Noodle as a toddler and then see people shipping her with her ""brother"" - I’m sure it would gross me out too. But like I said I had a different experience learning about the band. I didn’t even know their ages for a while when I first got into it - it’s not like they plaster it on top of their heads. At one point I thought 2D and Noodle were the same age haha.

I know it’s a popular opinion for 2nu fans that the time they’re separated and then meet again when she’s older can be like them seeing each other in a different light and their relationship changing. It’s not the worst thing in the world. Something I also like to say is, canonically Noodle is 30 now? She can date who she wants lol.

Anyway… sorry I went on a bit of a tangent there haha, But I hope I make some sense? I’m sure other people will say otherwise but I think it’s okay if you want to see Gorillaz as strictly a family, or if you just see them as bandmates that live together sometimes. It’s all for fun anyway.

We agree with you there. A ship does not need to be canon in order to occur. It is simply a headcanon that makes people happy, and we hope you and everyone else continues to do what they love regardless and ship 2nu.

i hate everything about noodle shippers. the fact that they were doing this shit since she was eight and it was seen as acceptable and hot makes me want to fucking die. i could tell them about my abuse and they would draw porn of it. almost every response theyve given to criticism is drawing extremely violent and sexist porn. they took glee in creating a week where they would put incest in the main tag just to trigger survivors. the most popular fic of theirs on ao3 is one where shes 14 and gets pregnant by 2d. they almost exclusively draw her with purple hair and bangs covering her eyes, like they preffered the porn of 13 year old noodle. they think its normal and romantic for your brother figure and legal guardian to find you sexy when he sees you legal for the first time in four years. theyve said that having lesbian headcanons is the same as purposely showing porn to incest survivors. the most predominant phase art for 2nu on google search is phase 2. theyve used evidence from phase 1 to prove that noodle is in a relationship with her parents. they refuse to listen to even the writers and jamie saying its disgusting and noodle herself would hate it. they speak over rape victims. the only sweet moments between noodle and 2d (in phase 1) have been tainted by noodle shippers saying its evidence for sexual tension. most of them are white. they incessantly draw noodle with racist features such as shut, slant eyes. they encourage minors to make porn for them to masturbate to, which is illegal. they look at real life cases of child grooming (i.e. a shipper saying her mom was 12 and her dad was 29 when they got together) and find it appealing. they dont let noodle be anything on her own unless it in some way relates to her having incestuous feelings for the men who raised her. they truly dont give a fuck about trauma victims and paint a trauma victim himself as a pedophile/child groomer. they cant take any criticism. the ships are rooted in pedophilia, incest and oriental sexist stereotypes and the fandom was not a "better place" when this was accepted.
