💛Sunshine💛 - The Visit

In which you all read about Spencer's family life

Overall Warnings: fluff, mentions of sex, children lol, lmk if anything was missed

Five months.

It had been five months since Audrey and the kids had seen Spencer.

Sadie had become quiet, Joey cried himself to sleep every night and Charlie had become angry. He still hadn't received any word about Emmy. He didn't even know if she was alive.

Audrey wasn't doing so well. She was dealing with three kids who were experiencing pain and anger while her own pain and anger was harvested deep inside of her.

Every three weeks, a doctor came to the house to check on the baby. Audrey was skeptical at first but once he got to know her, she was fine.

The kids decided that they didn't trust her at all and begged their mother to lock them in the basement until the doctor was gone. Now, they just stayed in their room. Charlie pretended to come down to get a snack every hour so he knew that his mother wasn't being violently murdered.

Doctor Scott knew that the kids didn't trust her and she completely understood that. She even knew that Audrey didn't fully trust her which was also fine.

Spencer sat in Derek's apartment, head in his hands on the couch. He was staying with Derek and Savanah for the five months his family had been gone.

Derek hated seeing Spencer restless and worried but he knew there was no way of getting him not to be unless he found the killer and solved the case.

Derek crept into the living room. It was almost 3 in the morning. Spencer was sitting up on their couch. He had refused to take the couple's bed and insisted on sleeping in the living room. But there was barely any sleeping that happened.

"Reid?" Derek called out quietly. "Kid, you need to get some sleep."

Spencer took his elbows off of his knees and looked up at Derek. "I tried. Believe me." He scoffed.

"Okay, then what's stopping you?"

Spencer looked up at Derek. "Are you kidding me? What's stopping me?"

"Kid-"

"Morgan, I haven't seen my wife- my kids in five months!" Spencer shouted. Derek moved forward.

"Hey hey hey. Savannah is sleeping." He sushed the man.

Spencer's head fell and he shook it. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Morgan." He whispered. "It's just... Sadie's birthday is tomorrow. I haven't gotten to see how Audrey's pregnancy is progressing. Joey probably still hates me. Char... I can't even imagine what he's feeling. His girlfriend is missing. I just..." He stopped, letting out a frustrated sigh.

He looked up at Derek. His eyes were red and rimmed with tears. "Reid..."

"I just can't do this anymore, Derek."

The man sat down next to Spencer and placed a hand on his back as he placed his head in his hands. "Listen, kid." He sighed. "I'm gonna see what I can do."

Spencer looked at him. "What?"

"I'm... I'm gonna get you to see them." He nodded. He saw Spencer's smile widen. "But, only for an hour or two. We can't risk whoever's doing this seeing you there."

Spencer didn't waste any time throwing himself at Derek. He wrapped his arms around him and squeezed his eyes shut.

Derek's eyes widened and he hugged him back slowly. "Okay, okay. Save a little passion for the Mrs." He laughed quietly.

Spencer pulled away smiling. "Thank you, Morgan. This means a lot to me."

"Spencer, remember. This visit can't be any longer than two hours." Hotch said. He watched Spencer anxiously bounce his leg up and down in the passenger seat of the car. "Reid."

The man looked over at him. "Yeah, no. Two hours. Got it." He nodded, biting his lip. "Can I go now?"

Hotch raised his eyebrows. "Yes. But-."

Spencer unintentionally groaned when Hotch stopped him again. "Be calm when you walk up to the door. No letting anyone out of the house. No going in the basement and most importantly, no using your phone." He emphasized. "Do you understand?" Spencer nodded. "I need to hear it, Spencer."

"Yes, I understand."

Hotch stared at him for a moment. "Go ahead. Say hi for me."

Spencer didn't waste a second. He opened the car door and shut it quickly. He composed himself before sticking his hands in his pockets and walking up the stone path. He tried his best not to look around to see if he could spot any suspicious people but that was not his mission right now. His mission was to get inside and spend time with his family.

By now, the inside of his cheeks were raw; he had been biting them all morning.

When he got up to the door, he let out a breath. He knocked four times. Two of the knocks were slow. The other two were fast. That was how Audrey knew it was someone from the BAU.

Inside, Audrey sat in her rocking chair, reading a book and watching Sadie play with her dolls. Charlie was in the kitchen sitting at the table shoveling cereal into his mouth and Joey was in the kids room sleeping.

"Charlie?" Audrey called. The boy hummed, not looking at her. "Will you bring me a glass of water, honey?"

"You can't get up and get it yourself?" He grumbled. Audrey raised her brows, scoffing.

She placed her book down and used her hand to push herself out of her chair. She placed a hand on her stomach and sighed. "No. It's okay. I'll get it." She smiled sadly.

She didn't like this Charlie but she understood why he became this way.

Audrey made her way to the kitchen and Charlie watched her feeling bad for making her get up. But once that thought entered his mind, it exited and he went back to being pissy.

"Y'know, Char. You could help around here a little." Audrey said quietly. It was as if she was nervous of setting him off somehow.

"Well maybe I don't wanna." He mumbled. Audrey reached up into the cabinet standing on her toes to reach it. Her fingers touched the glass for a split second before she accidentally pushed it backwards.

"Could you at least get the cup?" She sighed. She watched Charlie roll his eyes and set his spoon down aggressively on the table.

He shoved past his mother and grabbed the glass out for her. Instead of handing it to her, he put it down on the counter and walked out of the kitchen. She heard the door to the kid's room slam and she sighed.

Before she could grab the cup and fill it up with water, there was a knock at the door. Audrey's heart skipped a beat until she recognized the special pattern that Derek had taught her to let her know it was him.

She thought it was just another grocery delivery so she looked at Sadie. "Baby, could you go to your room for a minute?" She asked with a calm smile.

She slowly walked to the door and pressed her hand against the door. She sighed before she turned the door knob and opened it slowly.

Her face unscrewed when she saw him and a smile spread across her face. She wanted to scream and she wanted to jump but she didn't want to scare the kids or alert anyone else in the neighborhood.

She grabbed Spencer by his sleeve and tugged him inside. Her eyes were filled with tears as she shut the door. The two stood staring at each other for a moment before she let out a relived laugh.

Audrey pushed herself forward and sprang into her husband's arms. Spencer let out a happy grunt and wrapped his arms around his wife, squeezing tight but still being careful of the baby.

"You're actually here!?" She whisper/shouted.

Before Spencer could answer, a high pitched scream was heard the two jumped apart. Sadie stood there with a big smile and she was practically vibrating with excitement.

"Daddy!?"

Spencer kneeled down and Sadie took off running across the room. She jumped into her father's arms and giggled and he squeezed the girl.

A yell from the back room was heard followed by footsteps. "Dad!?" That was Joey. This was the first time in months Audrey had seen him smile.

She watched him walk forward and throw his arms around both Sadie and Spencer.

Audrey caught the sight of Charlie peeking around the corner. She sighed and looked back down at her husband who was practically being strangled.

The two let go of Spencer. "We're gonna go get Charlie. Don't go anywhere!" Sadie shouted, grabbing Joey's hand and dragging him away.

Audrey laughed and bit the inside of her cheek. She looked at Spencer when the two were out of sight.

"I've missed you." She whispered, walking to him and standing right before him.

Spencer looked like he could cry. "I've missed you more than anything." He shook his head. He hesitated to reach out and touch Audrey's belly but he shook it away and took a step forward.

His warm hand made contact with her stomach and she smiled. "How's our Peach?" He asked.

Audrey smiled and sighed, leaning into his touch. "Peach is doing... great." She gasped a little when she felt a kick in the place where Spencer's hand was. "I think she wanted to tell you herself."

Spencer smiled and his eyes flicked up to meet Audrey's. "She?"

The woman shut her eyes. "Shit." She shook her head. "It was supposed to be a surprise."

Spencer chuckled. "It's okay, honey."

"I found out last week. I was trying to wait until we got out of here but I didn't know when that was." She had a sad smile. "So I wanted to find out." She saw Spencer nod. "I'm sorry, Spence."

The man raised his eyebrows and shook his head. "Oh, no. No, it's okay. I'm not upset. I'm just... processing." He nodded, leaning in to kiss her.

They kissed for a moment. "Have you told the kids yet?" He asked between their kisses.

"No." She paused. "God, no. Sadie would scream." Audrey laughed a bit.

They stood in silence for a moment just holding each other. They heard Joey and Sadie trying to talk Charlie out of the room.

"Before we go out out that fire, how's the case going?" She asked. "Did you find the freak? Are we able to leave here? How are my parents? Marcus-"

"Audrey, Audrey, hold on." He stopped her with a sad smile. "How about we talk about this later? I don't wanna talk about the case right now."

The woman's face fell and she but her lip. "Okay. How long do we get with you?"

"An hour, fifty-four minutes."

"That's stupid." She scoffed.

"Get off me!" Charlie shouted. Spencer and Audrey looked at each other before rushing away to the kid's room.

Sadie was on Charlie's back, hitting him with her baby doll. "No! Daddy's here and you're being mean!"

"Bunny! Bunny, stop!" Spencer shouted, walking over to the two and trying to pry the girl off of her brother's back.

For a seven year old, she sure was strong.

"Sadie, stop that!" Joey yelled.

The girl grunted and let go of Charlie, allowing herself to plane pulled off of him and into Spencer's arms.

Audrey bit her lip and took Sadie from her dad.

Spencer and Charlie stood staring at each other. The boy held a hard glare as his chest heaved but his breaths were quiet.

Suddenly, Charlie's lip quivered and he broke down into tears. Spencer walked forward quickly and wrapped his arms around him.

Audrey grabbed Joey's hand and walked out of the room with him and Sadie, leaving Charlie and Spencer alone.
