1. Are you named after anyone?

technically yes ! my parents loved marisa tomei in my cousin vinny. they just decided to add an extra ‘s’ to my name and named me ‘marissa.’

2. When was the last time you cried?

a few days ago. reading the line about steve waiting by the ferris wheel 🎡 from @azrielgreen’s fic, blackout days (fairground nights). i balled my eyes out and haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

3. Do you have kids?

not yet, but maybe one day. i currently work with two toddlers and often feel like they’re my own bc of how much time i spend with them lol.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

absolutely and i affectionately blame my mother for it <3 she’s the most sarcastic person i know.

5. What's the first thing you notice about people?

probably piercings or tattoos ! i have 9 piercings myself but no tattoos yet (thought i’m planning some rn). so i feel like i’m always checking out other peoples for ideas and i love hearing the stories behind peoples tattoos.

6. What's your eye color?

chocolate button brown (iykyk)

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

if it’s a fic, im choosing dark, fucked up, unhinged, angsty WITH a happy ending (happy ending is a must for me). if it’s a movie, i can go either way but horror is one of my top genres for sure.

8. Any special talents?

being insanely gorgeous, intelligent, and hilarious at the same time (joking, joking, don’t take that seriously omg). real answer: i can fold my tongue into a three leaf clover and i have a strangely strong memory when it comes to remembering names, faces, and usernames lol.

9. Where were you born?

10. What are your hobbies?

drooling over steve harrington, writing steddie fics and my own poetry, reading the queerest literature on the market, yearning for irl requited love, contemplating my career choices, selling vintage clothing, crying to the tune of other peoples steddie fics, thrifting, cooking with an excessive amount of hot chili oil, wandering around trader joe’s, yoga, and hiking :)

11. Do you have any pets?

yes ! two dogs (one has no teeth and the other is chaos incarnate) that i adore. and a 150 gallon aquarium with a zillion salt water fish (okay, like thirty and my fave is the cowfish, look it up its adorable).

12. What sports do you play/have played?

i’m an olympic medalist in crying over steddie like they’re real people…(i did gymnastics for 12 years, ran track for 5, and now, i stay active by going to my local gym and doing yoga/weight lifting)

13. How tall are you?

5’0” and everyone in my life reminds me of it constantly

14. Favorite subject in school?

english and history, always

15. Dream job?

joe keery’s professional girlfriend….or a writer that makes money !! a money making writer that creates and gets paid for it. yes. i’d give an arm and a leg to write for a cool mag, online zine, or to be a published author !

He wants to sink to his knees; he wants to push Buck down to his; he wants Buck to take a swing at him; he wants; he wants; he wants. Anything. Anything for some relief. Anything but the helpless hurt that’s been simmering for weeks.

3. where the lights burn low and you’re only mine

He’s memorized every part of Eddie. Buck knows where he’s ticklish, where he’ll moan, the location of every scar and freckle. He knows the heat and heaviness of him in his hands and he knows, sure as anything, the way that Eddie is going to come straight up off the mattress when Buck takes him into his mouth as deep as he can.

4. catch you when the current lets you go

“Hey,” Chim says, pointing at his empty glass. “I’ve been waiting on my refill for ten minutes now. This is no time to take a break.”

“Sorry. Officially off the clock.” Buck leans back in one of the patio chairs and kicks his feet up on another, popping open his beer.

“You got fired.”

“I got fired.”

“Well it’s not the first time, is it?”

Before Buck can retort, he’s blasted in the back of the head by a freezing cold jet of water.

“Jesus Christ!” he yells, jerking upright and spilling his beer.

Cackling, Eddie slides into the now open chair previously serving as Buck’s footstool and sets the super-soaker down on the table, “That’s what happens when you let your guard down on the battlefield, GQ.”

5. Hemorrhage prompt from whumptober

Pang: And you know, the Kings ended up down two players that night. You saw Eddie Diaz walking Buckley down the tunnel there with the trainer? He never came back to the game! He climbed right into the ambulance with them, skates and all. I guess they didn’t think they had time to argue with him about it. Coach Nash didn’t even know until trainer Sara Mierendorff came out to tell him before play started again.

[laughter]

McHugh: Skates. And. All. Bet the hospital staff loved that.

Pang: Oh sure they did. You know they did.

So. All of these things were sections I pretty much liked immediately and still almost deleted because I thought they were too much or too silly or didn’t work and actually I think posting them here as a few of my favorite things may be exactly the lesson that I needed to learn from the last year so there’s that.

TWO // Birthday: Feb. 18th

THREE // Sign: Aquarius (I think? I don't care about astrology whatsoever lol)

FOUR // Height: 5 feet 5 1/2 inches, around 166 cm

FIVE // Hobbies: I have 10 zillion... composing music and writing lyrics, playing Detroit: Become Human and The Sims 4, any type of creative writing whatsoever, solving Sudoku's, scrolling down Tumblr, watching science, music, and gaming YouTube videos and many more.

TEN // Inspiration for Muse: I have 10 million muses, so I'll go with my oc Charles for now. Basically, I'm doing an rp with @timelordypizza , and I was originally planning to rp as Hank. I started out rping as him, but soon found out that wouldn't work with the rp and canon timelines, so I improvised and came up with a character related to him. After writing a draft of a story in a zine I'm participating in, I generated more ideas for this character and the people he influenced later in the timeline, and everything just kinda clicked. I'm not going to spoil his character too much, though, as he still has many secrets yet to be revealed 😶

ELEVEN // Dream Job: Singer/songwriter/musician, writer/game designer and activist. Hands down.

TWELVE // Meaning Behind Your URL: It's 3 of my favorite words: yeah, hi and yellow. I came up with it in 4th grade, and the phrase just stuck.

"You are officially on holidays from now on!"- Bonnie said to Elena.

"I just need to take it slow, but I can still do work."- Elena replied.

"We will now take care of that.”-Y/N said and added-” But - let's talk about Elijah!"

"He's been wonderful."- Elena gushed.

"Duh!"- Y/N exclaimed-”I told you he is the best!”

"Don't start, please."- Elena huffed a bit.

"I will not. But - "- Y/N said with great consideration and as she wanted to continued the nurse now came in and kindly asked Bonnie and Y/N to leave as Elena should have some rest.

"So, we will see you tomorrow."- Bonnie said.

“You now think of the baby and relax - you can dream about Elijah, too.” - Y/N joked a little.

Elena rolled her eyes a bit at the last remark, but also smiled at her friends, which confirmed that this probably will happen.

And with a little wave at their friend, the two women left.

At Kol’s house

Rebekah was in full swing opening the cartons of food, she and Kol got on the way home.

“Did you get Elijah? Is he coming home? There is tones to eat.”- Rebekah now said as Kol got off his phone.

“Yes. He is on his way.”- Kol said and huffed.

“What’s up? Don’t tell me Y/N ditched you?”

“No. Elena was rushed into hospital. But Elijah said that she will be fine.”- Kol replied.

“Here are some drinks and two bottles of Malbec”- Alexander, Rebekah’ s boyfriend now got in with two bags of drinks.

“Ah, thanks, sweets.”- Rebekah said giving her boyfriend a peck as he put the bottles on the kitchen top.

“What exactly happen?”- Rebekah continued to inquire, but then Kol’s phone rang and seeing it was Y/N, he went out to answer it.

Rebekah continued plating the food, and helping Alexander set the table.

A few seconds later, Elijah walked in the kitchen and Rebekah now shot a zillion questions at her brother.

"Everything is ok. She has an elevated blood pressure. Hormones imbalance do that. But it's nothing too serious. Anyway, she is going to have a boy."- Elijah replied with a little smile.

"That's lovely."- Rebekah gushed.

“Yeah. I saw the scan. He looks perfect.”- Elijah said in a dreamy voice.

Rebekah knew how much Elijah wanted a family and now smiled back at her brother and said-

“You will have that one day, too.”

“You know - when I saw the scan and - God, I wish he was mine - and - “- Elijah said, but stopped there as Kol now got back in the kitchen and cut his brother off by saying-

“Y/N said how lovely you were and she thinks she is still into you.”

“No. She was just scared and wanted someone she knew with her.”- Elijah replied.

“Oh, God, you’re hopeless. Both of you. And I know that she was totally disappointed with you sleeping with Camille, but - surely, she could see that it was a one off - a glitch - and -”

“Don’t, Kol, please”- Elijah took a sip of the wine taking the glass from his sister.

“How come you saw the scan?”- Rebekah now asked as they all set down to eat.

“She wanted me to be with her as I said.”- Elijah replied.

“I see.”- Rebekah now gave Kol a look, which streamed they are so getting back together. And we will make it happen.

”This one bought Y/N an engagement ring.”- Rebekah then shot, changing the subject.

“Wow!”- both Elijah and Alexander now exclaimed stunned at the news.

“Why is it odd that I want to get married?”- Kol now blasted at them in a cute way.

“Did we say something?”- Elijah looked at his sister and her boyfriend.

“No.”- Alexander uttered.

“Yes - I have known her now for - six months - and maybe you think that this is too quick - but I don’t care what you think. She makes me happy - and I want to marry her - do I need to wait five years or a year to pop the question?”

“No”- Elijah now said and curled a supportive smile on now- “I am happy for you, brother. Here is to Kol and Y/N”.

Everyone present raised their glasses to Kol and his future wife.

Next morning

As Elena woke up, and her eyes set on a lovely flower-gift arrangement.

Elena got up and took the card and smiled as she opened it. She then took the teddy-bear and kissed it. The nurse saw that came in saw it and remarked-

"Awww, the gift is so cute. Mikaelson is such a dream. Lucky you."

"We are not - he is just a friend."- Elena sighed a little. It was clear that the brunette felt something more for this friend and the nurse now commented-

"He must be a very special friend."

"He is."- said looking at the flowers.

"You want him to be more than just friend?"

"Yeah. But I blew it."

"Ok. I have take your temperature and blood pressure."- the nurse then said.

Elena sat down on the bed and the nurse proceeded with the examination.

At Kol’s house

Elijah woke up, shutting down his alarm clock. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up. He took his phone and there was a message from Elena-

"Thanks so much for the flowers and the bear. xo. Elena."

Elijah smiled. And now returned the message.

"You are very welcome. xo. Elijah."

The dream he had making love to Elena lingered still so vividly on. And he wished she was there next to him and he could kiss her good morning.

"Friends?! - Tell your heart more lies." It was as if an angel sat on his right shoulder whispering to him-"stop it. You love her. You can never be just friends with her. Stop being delusional."

The little devil on the left shoulder smirked -

“You fucked it all up and she will never give you another chance.”

Elijah tossed with his head to shake the thoughts that he wrestled with quite often and went to the bathroom.

In the kitchen, Kol finished his conversation with Y/N, who stayed at the hotel as she had another event the night before.

He got the tablet and opened the page with local news and going through it, stopped at an article about a car accident outside the city.

"Camille is dead? "- Kol muttered. Elijah walked in and having heard Kol said-

"What did you just say?"

"Camille O'Connell died in a car crash. The Fertility Clinic is now being sold."- Kol said handing the tablet to his brother to read the news.

Elijah now read the short article.

"This is unbelievable. How did we not know about it."

"Because we- were busy."- Kol said pouring some coffee for him and his brother.

Rebekah now waltzed in asking why they were so glum.

"It's your birthday. You can't be sad. Please. Don't tell me something happened to Elena!"

"No. Elena is fine. Had a text from her this morning."- Elijah said.

"It's Camille"- Kol then said explaining what had happened.

"OMG. Seriously? How? When?"

"They article says she was drunk- driving."- Elijah said handing the tablet to his sister- "the Funeral was a week ago."

"Mad."- Rebekah remarked as she read the article herself now -"Did she have a drinking problem?"

"We knew her for years. I mean, she would unwind, but don't all of us do, on occasion?"- Kol said.

"Sometimes, people have a drinking problem, but can hide it, believe it or not."- Rebekah said-"until it goes terribly wrong and you have one too many."

Elijah now thought of the night he also went into excessive drinking, ending up in bed with Camille. She drank a lot that night too, sipping down Tequila like it was water.

Seeing Elijah's face go grim, his siblings asked him if he was all right.

"I - just remembered something she said"-

"What?"- Rebekah said.

"Make me happy even if it is for a moment. You and tequila is the best package I could get."- Elijah said.

"She must have been deeply unhappy really."- Rebekah concluded.

"We just run every day, so involved into our thing that we don't really see others. And what is really going on in their lives."- Elijah continued feeling bad he didn't recognize Camille's deeply rooted problem.

"Cancelling the party then? "- Rebekah said.

"What party?"- Elijah now acted like he didn't know about the surprise birthday party she had planned.

"For your birthday, at Rousseau's tonight after your shift."- Rebekah replied.

"I am not really into partying - now."- Elijah said.

"I'll call people. But, we can still have some cake later. I am not cancelling that. See you here tonight."

"Ok."- Elijah now got up and as went out.

"He had a text from Elena?"- Rebekah said to Kol.

"Can you two gossip after I leave the house?!"- Elijah said as he turned around walking back to the kitchen, having forgotten his phone.

Both Rebekah and Kol made innocent faces.

"Before you make this into something that is not- she texted me just to say thanks for the flowers. That's all."

"Ok. Sorry."- Rebekah said-"we just - mean well."

"Oh, I forgot. Y/N called and - Elena is being released and she went to get her. She also said that she wasn't coming to the party, because Elena has to stay in bed and rest. Well, now there is no party, so-"

"Elijah now cut in-"well, let's then take the cake to the hotel and have it there. So, you can be with Y/N."

"And you can be with Elena."- Rebekah shot out at her brother, who could not deny that basically that was the aim.

"And so what if I want to be with, around her?" -Elijah shot defensively.

"I didn't say anything. I just don't want you to be get more hurt."- Rebekah said back.

Kol knew that this exchange could escalate and he now said-

"I will call Y/N and say that we are booking a table at the hotel. Just us."

"Yeah. Whatever."- Elijah said and now left the kitchen.

As he left the house, in a little while, Rebekah gave these instructions to Kol-"Call Y/N. I have a great idea."

"Right. What are you up to?"- Kol said.

"Just call Y/N."- Rebekah said -" and leave everything else up to me. He is into a surprise he never thought he would get."

That evening

"Is everything set?"- Rebekah asked Y/N over the phone.

"Yep. We are all in positions."- Y/N answered, meaning Bonnie and her actually.

What was really going on? Well, this:

Y/N and Bonnie got Elena down to the table reserved for Elijah's birthday.

"They are all late."- Y/N pretended she was peeved off as he looked at her phone, making out she got a text Kol sent her.

The only one that didn't have to pretend to have to leave was Bonnie, as she got a call from the reception that Damon was asking for her.

"Ok. You will be ok here for a second?"- Y/N asked Elena, who nodded in response.

As the blonde got into the hotel lounge area, she called asking Rebekah if they know if Elijah was on his way.

"Yes."- Rebekah answered-"we are in Rousseau's. But we told him that we are in the hotel already."

"Ok. I will tell Davina to take over. See you in Rousseau's in a little while." Both women then hung up.

Y/N now checked with Davina if she was ready to do her bit.

"All ready."- Davina said.

"Good. Now I need Sophie to get the cake out. Ok. Thanks."- Y/N now scampered off to the kitchen.

A couple of minutes later as the cake was brought out to the garden. Elena was wondering why it was already there.

"Y/N said to bring it out."- Sophie said innocently-"I don't know what is going on. She said that Elijah is having a small birthday thing. Shall I take it back or leave it?"

"Ah, put it there on the side table."- Elena said-"They are all a bit late. Where is Y/N now?"

"I don't know."- Sophie said-"shall I check?"

"No, it's ok. I will give her a call."- Elena said and now dialled Y/N's number.

Elijah arrived and Davina met him wishing him a happy birthday telling him that everyone was already expecting him in the garden.

And to his surprise, as he got there, the only person waiting was Elena, sitting at the table, texting Y/N.

"Hey"- Elijah said to Elena.

"Hey"- Elena said back-"Happy birthday."

"Thanks. Ahm - where - is-"- and then seeing the cake already there and Elena alone, he slipped- "Rebekah"- as it dawned to him what was going on.

"Rebekah?"- Elena didn't quite get what he meant.

"It's a - nevermind."- Elijah said. His phone now buzzed and he now looked at the display. It was a short video message with Rebekah and Kol saying in one voice- "Happy birthday!"

Elijah didn't know if he would thank them or shout at them for putting him into this awkward position.

"What is going on?"- Elena was clueless.

"I - ahm- they are going to be very late, and we should cut the cake."- Elijah said and then looked at Elena -

"No. This is a set up- I am sorry- my sister has this matchmaking disease and she has created this whole thing so- well, thinking it will bring us together."

"She did, ha?"- Elena said.

"Yeah. I'm really sorry."- Elijah said.

"It's ok. I think that my friends also have the same disease. Y/N is no show. Which speaks louder than words."

"Yeah. They are all in this together."- Elijah said with a little embarrassed smile, and now deflecting from the current state he asked how she was doing.

"Ok. I just need to rest. Monitor my blood- pressure. You know. I - had no time to really thank you about yesterday."

"Oh, please. No need to thank me."

"I know. I was really scared. And you made me feel better."- Elena now said and neared him.

The way she looked at him made his heart stop a beat.

Elena drew closer and placed a peck on his cheek. Their eyes locked. Time stopped. Elena's eyes closed and felt his lips on hers now. All seemed to be right in the world again.

The next day

"He is a letter for you"- Kol said to Elijah as he walked in the kitchen.

Elijah saw the envelope on the table and said ok to his brother, and went to get a toast and coffee.

"So, how was it? Though I kinda know everything- Elena texted Y/N after you left" - Kol did a light joking punch at his brother's arm, smiling happily.

"It was - great- ah- so good- as you all know - we are together now. Had a great long talk about everything and - yeah-" - Elijah said with a big smile, and then continued-"but that doesn't mean I will forgive you for the set up maneuver."

"Come on, we had to do something. I just couldn't go on watching you mope around anymore. Ok. I am off."- Kol said-"oh, tonight I am proposing to Y/N."

"Tonight? Right! You go brother!" - Elijah said, a happy smirk still lingering on his face.

“ Rebekah now walked in and after she congratulated Elijah about him and Elena, she turned to Kol-

"What are doing then? Dinner or you are going out - or?"

"Well- I just thought I will meet her after work and - propose in Rousseau's" -

"Rousseau's? Are you kidding me? Oh, God, you are totally hopeless." - Rebekah screamed at Kol.

"Did you really think I would do that to Y/N. She is full on romance and - I have this - ok - I haven't got much- can you help me?" - Kol now said to Rebekah with semi-pleading eyes.

"I really don't know what made her fall for you.”- Rebekah said.

"What do you mean - I am loveable, dreamy- cute- and got a hell of a sexy body" - Kol now said acting a tad bit offended, but both his siblings knew when he was mucking about.

"Oh, just stop it!" - Rebekah said-"ok - I got tones of ideas. She then turned to Elijah-

-”you can come over to our house and sleep there.”

"Yeah, thanks."- Elijah said.

" Don't think I am kicking you out."- Kol said.

“Oh, please - but it is about time I get my own place”- Elijah said-”Should have done it ages ago.”

Rebekah now dragged Kol out of the kitchen to the patio to discuss where it would be best to set the table for his romantic dinner with Y/N. Elijah now opened the letter addressed to him. It said the following-

"The baby Elena Gilbert is expecting is yours. Check the DNA."

Okay so I’m doing seven because as you all know from my zillion ships and characters I’ve written for/screamed about, I’m incapable of picking a specific favourite lmao. But it’s still less than half my fics so it’s fine. Also none of these are ranked, I enjoyed them all equally tbh. (Forgive my lack of heart emojis RIP, I’m on desktop for this one)The Troubles Rain Can Bring (Pers/ona 5) : Of course I have to bring this one up, since it’s the one I consider my first legit omo fic (Jade was my first foray, but since it’s unfinished and I picked a dead fandom specifically so I had less chances of getting mean comments, I consider it more of a practice run). This was my first time writing for a very active and current fandom, so it was really intimidating, but I was also really excited to participate in creating for a game I was so passionate about! Also that fic was just a total labour of self-indulgence and love (excuse for fluff with my otp? combining all my fav tropes? Gratuitous Akira Suffering? Including the others for fun towards the end? I was in hog heaven!) While I definitely can find parts where I could improve the writing now, I still love it for all of the effort I put into it, and I got such a lovely response that made me feel really welcome on ao3, the omo tag on tumblr, and in the p/5 fandom! It’s kind of nostalgic for me, even if it was only written like a year and a half ago, haha.All Bottled Up (Dang/anRonpa: THH) : I’m just really proud of this fic, and I had so much fun writing it! I think it’s probably one of the few fics I’ve written that was a completely smooth ride of inspiration and fun from start to finish, without any hitches in the writing process or me getting bogged down with other projects. Seriously I think I hammered the entire thing out in like a week or two lmao. I love Naegiri so much, and the idea was a treat to work with even if it’s some of the most cliché omo scenarios, it was just a nice relaxing bit of indulgence! Also I got to dig into Kirigiri’s character, which I didn’t get to do in my other fic of her (since that one was so short and oddly styled). My favourite bit was probably getting to mess with the drawbacks of her gloves/hand injuries, and of course those fluffy bits with Naegi! Getting Your Feet Wet (Pers/ona 5) : This one, hoo boy. Definitely one of my longest fics, and while at the time when I posted it I kind of hated half the stuff in it (just because I had been nitpicking it for so long lmao), now that time has gone by I can genuinely say I love it and it’s probably one I’m proudest of. Not only was it my first full dive into snut (and I’d like to think it isn’t too shabby), but I got to work with a rarepair that I’ve been intrigued by, with two of my fav npcs from the game! So fun times all around! It was great to imagine how Sae might have changed and opened up since the game’s ending, and what Tae could do to help draw her out of that strict shell while still making her feel secure and comfortable. Also I got to include pet/p.lay which is something I’d been dying to write since I started that account, so bonus points for that! And I got a way better response than I was expecting, so that was nice!A Sinking Ship (Pers/ona 5) : ((Okay I swear I still plan to update the other half of this one someday soon, I literally have the draft halfway done I just haven’t been able to get it finished to the level I want.)) Anyways, I have a soft spot for this one because 1. It’s Makoto, and you all know how much I adore her, 2. I finally got to write some legit palace battling and shenanigans, which I really enjoyed and want to include more of in future projects, 3. I literally put so much detail into this one, from the setting descriptions to the dialogue and going out of my way to include the entire team interacting with her instead of just one or two chars, and I’m giving myself a fat pat on the back for that. And then throwing in actual anxiety and plot issues instead of just making her desperate for the sake of it, which may have been ambitious (hence why it’s kind of on a cliffhanger right now while I finish the comfort half), but I really just wanted her to have one of my best fics possible because Makoto deserves the best (of the worst suffering oops sorry bby). Also did I mention The Shumako Bridal Carry scene? That was absolutely necessary to include okay? Also there’s gonna be quality Shumako bonding in the second chapter so I’m biased to love this in advance. Basically I love this one specifically because it’s my own self-indulgent bullshit, which is kind of every fic I write but this is definitely one of The Most Indulgent. I also consider this one my very best omo fic in terms of the actual omo writing/content, even if it’s long AF, because at least you’re getting desperation and wetting for pretty much the entire thing, even when other stuff’s going on around it. So yeah I guess if you don’t mind a cliffhanger ending (for now) and have a decent knowledge of p/5, this is the one I recommend reading!Conundrums Lead to Collapse (Doc/tor Who - 13th Doc/tor) : I really liked writing this one because of the whump, actually. I rarely have excuses to injure characters for Even Worse Omo Suffering/Comfort, so the fact that I could write based on a canon injury was the perfect excuse! Also I’m just weak for the 13th Doctor so I’m always down for omo of her, but it was also a fun excuse to explore her character. We hadn’t gotten to see her angry or broken down at the time it aired, so I enjoyed getting to play around with how things affect her when she does finally lose the positive attitude and confidence, and bringing a character as powerful (and semi immortal I guess) as The Doctor to the floor was just a fun exercise. Also it’s kind of hard to find whump fics focused on female characters that don’t involve a certain kind of violence (or just female whump in general actually), so I just really enjoyed using all of the fandom tropes I’ve read over the years in those fics to create something for those of us who wanted it the other way around! I would also like to say this one gave me the excuse for Found Family Coddling, everyone comforts and helps her towards the end which is perfect for my fluff-craving heart after all of the angst.Holding More than Cards (Ka/kegurui Compulsive Gambler) : Oh boy, I’ll be honest the reason I love this is purely because it’s pretty much the only fic for this pairing that I’ve found for my tastes and I had to make it myself dang it (They basically had a whole two episodes where Midari creamed herself for Yumeko and they had that scene where they held each other’s faces staring into their eyes, HOW is no one jumping on this ship??? There’s literally 5 fics total on ao3 I’m not joking). I really enjoyed getting to dig into Midari’s characterization for this one, especially since I had such a tiny bit of canon to go off of and had to set it after the anime’s s1 developments. I got to write Yumeko being a dom and dropping her cheerful attitude too, which was really satisfying. Also while this doesn’t have full on snut in it, it was the closest I’d come at the time, so that was an interesting challenge. This was a rare chance to indulge in unhealthy ships too (bc literally every ship in that show is unhealthy on some level lmao) so that was entertaining to try and navigate.Capture the Fly with Nectar Sweet (The Ch/illing Adventures of Sabrin/a) : I just posted this one recently but I’m adding it anyways, because I had an absolute blast working on it. It’s so starkly different from anything I usually write, because you all know I love close friendships and found family and all that quality fluff and caring. But instead this one was me staring at my laptop thinking of how I want to tell this character to go to hell, except that would be pointless because that’s literally where she came from. I really got to stretch my wings outside my comfort zone and dig around in the dark, manipulative side for a while, and it was so much fun to study one of my favourite villains (anti-hero? she’s such a mysterious mess idk how to classify her) and her relationship with Sabrina. I also got to attempt writing desperation from the outsider’s perspective instead of the victim’s, and while I feel like I definitely still have room to improve with that, it was a nice break from the way I usually write my omo fics. I also got to shift around my writing style for this one, using words like ‘betwixt’ (which I love but never get to use lol) and using a bunch of metaphors and similes to showcase how Madam views Sabrina. This is probably the fic that makes it obvious that Language Arts was my favourite subject in school and that I’m Extra when it comes to predator/prey comparisons lmao. The episode begins with a classroom exploding!

Pick an Ed was the sixth episode to take place in the school.

The school season was not a favorite among fans. It wasn’t my favorite either for some time. After a while it grew on me. There is a story that the writers follow through each episode. And the seasons echos through the movie. The Eds have not been okay for a while. So the fight isn’t out of the blue in Big Picture Show. It’s been coming on for a while.

From the start of the school season the Eds are immediately put against one another in Mission Ed Possible where Edd was going to personally hand deliver Ed and Eddy’s terrible report cards to their parents.

The kids are even more tough on the Eds. They still don’t understand their friendship. When the notice the Eds fighting they tend to egg it on.

Freedom was a huge theme in the first four seasons. Even when there are episodes that take place out from the school you can still feel the vibe that they’re trapped now a new school year has started.

As I discussed in a recent question I answered each Ed is notably different. Or they’re flanderized. Ed is dumbed down, Edd is arrogant, snarky and acts as if he doesn’t care about his friends, while Eddy is more angry and selfish.

They each have varying opinions about school.

I have a theory that Edd was once homeschooled until fourth grade. In canon, the cul-de-sac kids are in sixth grade. School is Edd’s safe place while he was more vulnerable in the summer. Season 1-4 was the first summer the Eds hung out as friends. In the flashback scene from when the Eds first met as kids Edd had social skills beyond his years for a five year old. But, then they diminished and he hardly says a word, or takes charge in season 1.

Regaining the social skills that he lost and feeling more confident Edd believes he can guide himself. But, then he learns he can’t live without Ed and Eddy. Eddy has guided him.

As for Eddy’s behavior we know that Eddy’s brother has had a history through the Peach Creek school system. If his report card changing kit is enough evidence I don’t what is. The teachers automatically distrust Eddy. Eddy didn’t even fight against anyone when he was given detention for the zillion photo copies that were made of his school photo. Did Eddy even try? Or did he know it was worthless? Sad.

As for Ed there is a theory that he has a skull fracture which was never properly tended to by a doctor. It might be defecting his mentality. He’s also very depended on Edd and Eddy who guide him. They start to pay less attention to Ed.

Sorry, I don’t mean to go on rants but that was analyzing is for.

Onwards!

Kevin and Jonny exit the room quite disgusted. Their clothes are dirty.

It’s rare whenever Jonny is angry at anyone. He claims that he’s peace loving and yet he kicked Edd in the shin in Tag Yer Ed.

A rather proud Eddy, sporting a Bro chin, exits the room with an irate Edd in tow.

Eddy could care less about the detention, crumpling up the slip, while Edd rants that this is yet another detention for he and Eddy.

I thought you never had a detention before, Edd. That’s what you revealed in Hanky Panky Hullabaloo. That special was made before season 5 ever aired. Was Edd just trying to make up an excuse to get himself out?

I wonder how many detentions he and Eddy have had since the start of the new school year? By the way of Edd’s reaction it makes me think they never got much in past school years. Again, Edd was not close friends with Ed and Eddy yet.

School has also made Edd question his friendship. Is it worth being friends with two people who aren’t smart like him and also get him into trouble? Edd was very close to walking away from his friendship when he realized how important Ed and Eddy are are to him.

School has always been where Edd thrived. Since returning to the new year Edd is faced with a challenge. Is school first? Or his friends?

I also really like the directing and storyboarding in this scene.

Oh and also notice the sign? ‘No Rough Housing: We Don’t Want a Law Suit

THEORY: What if Bro has caused so much trouble in the past that an angry parent did sue the school giving it a bad reputation!

Eddy already has a bad reputation that he can’t escape.

But, is Eddy copy Bro’s history? Does he believe rebeling is worth it? Or is it worth trying to be a good student knowing that ‘Terrible Terrel McGee’ had a dark legacy. That’s @camriko-arts name for Eddy’s Brother. It fits well!

“It's all fun and games until academic grades fall, mister!"

Hmm, maybe Edd’s grades are not so good for the first time.

Eddy just throws the crumpled detention slip in Edd’s face to get him to shut up.

And then Eddy painfully pinches Edd’s cheek while telling him that getting detention builds character.

Yeah, we all know who Eddy has heard this from. It’s like his final line in the first episode. “A little childhood trauma builds character.”

I also like how the Eds are drawn to small when they’re in school. The school overpowers them while they feel bigger in the cul-de-sac.

Oof, look at that glare. Edd is done with Eddy.

I feel that the series is also about Edd and Eddy’s blooming friendship/relationship. They were still connecting in season 1. Over time they learn how to live with each others behaviors or quirks. Season 5-BPS was the downfall in their friendship. There is tension between them and they’re put against each other.

Edd and Eddy’s friendship is important. They can’t live without each other. If It was so furious with Eddy why didn’t he leave? He was to going to in Big Picture Show. Eddy tests him. Edd also opens up more. Eddy makes him think about the facts and also listen.

As Edd and Eddy continue down the hall arguing, Ed walks by also holding a detention slip.

Not just Edd and Eddy get detention! So did Ed! Why did Edd state that only he and Eddy had a detention? See they leave out Ed.

Great direction with Edd and Eddy exiting the scene while Ed makes a discovery.

There are so many easy to miss background moments in this show. Look at the bulletin board!

A New Janitor! [GASP!] Remember when Nazz had a petition for cuter guys as janitors in the episode previous?!?! I HAVE NEVER NOTICED THAT!

A paper for a volunteer.

A notice for ‘Peach Creek Salmon Watching’

Something is lost. We’ll see the lost and found momentarily.

Sign ups for a math tutor. I wonder if this is Edd. He’s Eddy’s math tutor in The Eds are Comin’.

And... school photos. The foreshadowing of the dreaded episode.

Edd continues to argue with Eddy hovering the detention slip right over Eddy.

Eddy has no respect for the teacher Edd states that the teacher had every right to be angry considering that the electrical rewiring will take weeks.

Edd respects authority. Because he has to. He respects his parents who don’t fully give that to him. Edd believes that if he is a good student for teachers or the principal they’ll look at him differently then how his parents think about Edd. That’s another reason why he may want to leave his friendship with Ed and Eddy behind.

I also like how in season 5 you get the vibe that the adults are there more. A teacher signed off on his detention slip. In seasons past they were free from adults, mostly. Here they’re surrounded and they have to stick to routine made for them.

I like this Eddy look. It’s the real Eddy for a second. He doesn’t like close proximity.

Eddy just smacks Edd right in the back. Uncalled for and I’m only assuming that Eddy is trying to have fun. He missed summer where he can just hang out with his friends and have no worries.

Although the Eds only played like kids in season 1-2. They did have their kids moments but the scams took over.

He pulls Edd into a forceful laugh trying to laugh it out.

Eddy knows that their friendship is dwindling. He’s trying to make it better. But he doesn’t know how seeing how he never had the best example of friendship. Depending if Bro had friends of his own it’s up to head canons how you think they got along.

Yeah, how is that not EddEddy?

He keeps talking about the incident in the science room. “You should have seen the look on your face, sockhead.”

Ed also joins in. He steals Eddy’s run!

Edd’s just looking at Ed as if he’s come from another planet. He’s really gotten out of the loop.

Edd and Eddy’s fights worry Ed.

Ed is the glue that keeps Edd and Eddy together! He’s scared of their friendship one day falling apart. They’re the only friends that Ed has. He’s making them all hug it out to remember the good times. Ed may always look happy but he’s struggling on the inside.

Ed looks really sassy.

You get a pretty good vibe of the Eds rocky friendship.

No friendship is perfect. That’s a good lesson in this series.

why does my brain keep saying very loudly and rapidly “i want to die i want to die i want to die i want to fucking die” even though i absolutely do not want to die right now i dont even have the motivation to scream but i wonder if a solid scream would be cathartic

theres just so many things i need to complain about my heart is pounding so hard im in pain and im shaking and everything feels bad and i cant change my meds bc i cant contact my psychiatrist from france or like... more importantly figure out the logistics

i dont wanna go back to the states though bc gburg is probably gonna be hella toxic for me again even though my schedule for next year is super good and im super looking forward to it

why did i send home all of my sheet music and why didnt i send home my jackets holy wow that’s gonna be a lot of weight i cant pay for with the luggage on my way home

what if im not mentally ill enough for meds i know i have to change them bc at this moment i am NOT feeling helped by them but what if another med will make me even worse and what if i am actually just shitty at managing symptoms and how come everyone else seems to be able to manage or hide or work through their shit and i have to go and make a big fucking deal out of it all and i literally even wrote my prof like “hi btw ive been suicidal thats why i havent been in class” and that’s just using mental health as a fucking excuse it’s not like an hour and a half of sitting through a class from which i glean approximately nothing would actually kill me, as it were lol

i have to get the key to christine but that means 20 min walk home and 20 min walk back and maybe the sunlight will be good for me but i also need to write the other two pages of my paper that im obviously not doing now since im complaining and making a bajillion zillion posts all over social media lol it is a cry for help how come i cant make myself do the things i need to do im literally in physical pain because i cant make myself do the paper that was due an entire week ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how the actual fuck did i even graduate high school how did i fucking survive

well i mean i didnt drink in high school but i also got apx 3h of sleep a night so idk

im not drinking today though like i refuse to do that today bc money and also i need to just uhh not drink for a while because that’s what healthy people do. not day drink on weekdays.

i thought i was better abt that this year than last year but i guess not as much as i thought but at least im not sleeping in my friend’s bed every other night?? which is an improvement

god i fucking hate that i cut myself out of the queermmunity like that even though it’s better for me i just wish i did it in a more mature way im so fucking angry at myself im not even homesick at all i miss like 4 or 5 people from the states in total and i feel fucking awful that theres a bunch of people who will message me like “omg miss u” and i know i miss them too but like i feel like im lying when i respond “miss u 2″ and that isnt fair at all and i hate it i hate feeling like im lying to my friends i hate that i dont miss them i hate that this semester is supposedly the best semester of my life and i still have to convince myself not to step in front of a bus sometimes and i hate that The Brain Demons are clawing my stomach out from the inside but at least i havent purged in a while so there’s that and usually i can talk myself out of other self harm shit

and putting the content of my complaining post in the tags is to warn people if they read it but also it’s gonna make some people like OH NO UR IN DANGER LET ME READ THIS and i dont ?? i dont want that???????? but i also do???? good fucking lord i hate being such an attention whore

like i dont regret any sexploits ive had whatever but i hate that i feel jealous of some people because i dont want to monopolize their lives and i dont want to prevent them from sharing love w other people i jsut want people to cuddle and kiss and be romantic with and it hurts but i also cant ocmplain abt it with my friends bc they also are like dammit i want a partner and me i have a few consistent sex partners but i want romantic partners but i need to change the people with whom i spend my time because they are not great for my mental health and i hate that bc i love them dearly but im destroying myself just in a different way from last year

the people i loved last year are driving me up a goddamn wall and i hate that i hate that i hate that so much bc i still care about them but im such an idiot i cant stand up for what feels right or against what feels wrong to me bc ill jsut get yelled at and i know that means i shouldnt be close to them im so hurting today
