It all started with a stupid bet. Aou'nung felt remorse even thinking about it.
While beating Loak in of their thousand diving contests he went a bit too far with their banter.
As he usually did he called Loak all kinds of names. Both slow as a stone and as good of a fiber as his I ran. But Instead of playingly fighting the accusations as he always did he proposed something.
"Sure, I might not be fast in the water yet or the best at riding my Ilu but I bet you wouldn't even make it to the forest brother."
Aonung as stubborn as he was took him up on the offer. He fell right into the obvious trap. Telling their parents they wanted to have a tour of the coral reefs both Loak and Aou'nung snuck out without much hustle.
Thinking back at it Aou'nung had to congratulate himself both for his stupidity and bravery.
Loak landed the two of them on the outskirts of the forest just by the edge of the great cliffs that border the Metkayina territories.
"Well then, go on Aou'nung. I'll meet you back right here in three days. And if you swim back or leave in any way I'll tell everyone what a wuss U were." Loak grinned as he took off high above him on his Ikran. Aou'nung never really liked that animal, but now with him standing so close to the edge of the cliff and the forest right in front of him, he had to admit how useful one of them could be.
The first few hours were strange but easy for him. He felt the unknown terrain between his feet and saw many strange but beautiful animals he had only heard his father talk about.
As soon as the night set tho, both his mood and the forest changed completely. He couldn't just walk in a straight line through the forest anymore as he did the hours before neither could he trace back his steps. As beautiful as the big leaves and trees were in the day, they now just blocked every passage and every small ray of light trying to find its way to the ground. Even the calls of the once beautiful birds just echoed from tree to tree as Aoung had never heard it before.
He wasn't ready to admit defeat yet but he also knew that there wasn't much of a different choice for him but to keep going.
Right when the sun was completely gone from the sky and some tiny specs of moonlight could be seen he found a more or less safe and comfortable place to rest.
He had only taken a small woven blanket with him which he laid on the ground and moss beneath him.
Sitting down he realized how unwelcoming the forest truly felt to him. Even the shades of blue both of the sky he had seen during the day and of the flowers and trees seemed to be different from his skin. It seemed way more fitting to the patterns and tones on Kiri's and Loak's bodies now that he could take a closer look.
Although his blue skin seemed unnatural to him, there was still a soft glow coming from the familiar patterns on his body. In a way, he had rarely seen it. While the water usually reflected these lights and made them glow much brighter, here in the forest it seemed much more like small far away stars.
As much as he was fascinated by that it also startled him that there was a comparable glow coming from around him.
As he rubbed his eyes, trying to get them used to the odd lighting, he noticed that all the plants around him and even the tree bark emitted a glow much the same to his skin. Like the plants and corrals of the ocean, there was a glittering coming from almost every corner of the forest. A bit colder, he thought, than under the sea but maybe also not that different.
"Eywa lives and breathes in everything. Both nature and Navi, even if they are as strange as you" Aou'nung heard a voice coming from right above him. He tried his best not to jump to his feet immediately to not show any fear, but instead just turned his head in every possible direction.
"What are you, pale boy ?" the voice asked again, this time with a more fierce tone.
"Why would you care ?" Aou'nung replied. "And if you need to know, I'm the son of OLO'EYKTAN. I'm one of the most feared warriors of our clan and I am here to prove that a forest like yours is no match for me. They are nothing more than our island jungles."
"I see." The voice softened as without a sound a tall and majestic body Fell from the trees above him.
Before Aou'nung a tall Navi spanned her ornated bow a focused on him sharply with both of her yellow eyes. She was much taller than him and had skin as dark as the night sky with a pattern of glowing dots that seemed to hypnotize him the longer he looked at them.
Still, without fear in his voice, he answered: "I'd be grateful if you could help me navigate this forest of yours just for the next two days. I'm here more or less on a bet. With a friend of mine who looks just like you, he was a born Omatecicaya just like you, I suppose."
Her face remained unchanged but her head and long braids tilted a bit to the right. "Of whom do you speak? You surely are no son of our olo'eyktan. And you do not fit in here. You stink of fish."
Again Aou'nung shivered a bit under the harshness of her words, he could feel her judging gaze all over him.
" I come from the Metkayina. We belong to the sea like you to your strange forest. Now would you *please* take down your bow."
She didn't seem to move not even blink as Aou'nung slowly raised his hands and tried to carefully aim the bow away from him. "I am not your enemy, do you hear me?"
"You truly are no threat, fish men." His opponent answered. As quickly as she pulled to bow it disappeared behind her back. "But we can't leave you unsupervised."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Aou'nung asked kind of relieved that the bow was gone but still concerned with her ominous answers.
"You will do whatever you need to do and I will keep an eye out for you. Now go!" The Navi snarred and as silent as a bird she disappeared into the tree branches above him.
"I don't even know your name," Aou'nung called out into the leaves above his head, now feeling kind of harmless being dismissed that easily. He at least wanted to make a lasting impression on that woman. And if she was anything like Loak that shouldn't be hard.
"Hey, did you hear me? What's your name? I'm Aou'nung, you know. The fastest diver of my village." He yelled into the night sky. But no one seemed to answer, only rustling leaves
and a little orange-eyed monkey screamed at his question.
Aou'nung squinted his eyes and looked closer at the animal. There seemed to be two or three just sitting in a smaller tree next to him.
An excellent choice to prove himself he thought, and even to gather something to eat.
Quickly brushing away all the smaller and bigger leaves in his path he made his way just under the tree. Securing his dagger on his bag he tried to grab a strong-looking liana and started to mount the tree, pulling himself upward.
It took him longer than expected and the moment he got close to the first real branch he realized that he was almost out of breath. He had no idea how to find a hold on the strong tree bark and even less how to coordinate his feet around the slimly Liana.
As he sat down on the shaky tree branch he couldn't see even a hint of the monkeys. Only the rustling leaves but this time coming from quite a distance beneath him.
A bit concerned with the height and not trusting the branch under him he pulled the remaining Liana up and wound it around his hips. Securing him like they used to secure small children, back in his village, to their parents when they go out onto the greater ocean for their first real swim.
While finishing his last knot, he felt something small pulling on his locks.
"I knew you'd come back eventually. And even if it was only to congratulate me on my climbing skills." he cheekily smiled. However, as an answer, he only got to hear a deafening scream of many small voices. Harshly turning around he found out where those screams were coming from.
He hadn't found the monkeys but much rather had the monkeys found him. More than 20 of them were gathered behind him hanging from branches and grinning their long sharp teeth at him. One of them had mustered up enough strength to sneak up behind him and was now holding multiple curls of his hair.
He only had enough time to pull back his hair as the monkeys unitedly started to jump towards him bringing the all tree branches to a concerning shake.
Even his half-hearted attempt at escape was quickly stopped by his own professionally bound knots which stopped him from even standing up and the monkeys started to gather around and on top of him only preventing him from completely falling off the tree.
It took more than an hour and in Aou'nungs mind more than days when the monkeys finally lost interest in him. He was lucky that he only had a few bite marks on his arms and upper body. The played with his hair tail and even his dagger with him unable to stop the rampaging hoard.
As he hung from his branch and the first small rays of sunlight reached his eyes a familiar face appeared before him.
"I am impressed Aou'nung, son of the olo'eyktan. I have never seen a fish be defeated by Syaksyuk so easily. They normally don't even hunt." She landed smoothly on his branch not even making it swing. Still, this time she got closer to him and inspected his bruises and spots. Aou'nung realized she smelled like the forest around him with a sweet aroma of earth and flowers all mixed like the green nature around him. She reminded him nothing of Kiri or Loak and if at all much more like their mother. As she carefully caressed his wounds he finally found his voice again.
"Couldn't have left me hanging a bit longer could you ?"
She smiled and Aou'nung thought to himself that maybe just for that, hanging around on an old tree branch for hours was worth it.
"You did not attack them, that was very good of you. Eywa says do not attack what you do not need or what doesn't hunt you. One day we all go back to her." she still smiled and her voice sounded like a song Aou'nung hadn't heard since his childhood.
"Again, I still don't know your name. How can I even thank you for your rescue if I don't know it."
"You do not need to, I did not rescue you, Aou'nung," she whispered, continuing to smile.
While Aou'nung tried to process those words she again disappeared into the woods but this time looking back at him with a grin on her face.
Aou'nung knew he shouldn't have been surprised but still, he couldn't help but feel disappointed. Now, a little less hopeless and still with her faint smell in his memory he started to loosen the knot binding him to the tree. He almost forgot about his bet with Loak, now focused on a new mission. To find his secret follower again and at least find out her name.
Still shaking in his legs he managed to balance himself on the branch and look around to fully take in his surroundings. Sadly, he couldn't quite remember which direction she climbed off to but he was sure it couldn't have been far.
Though his eyes weren't even yet comfortable with the night he could already feel the sun rising again under the thick roof of leaves the forest made up above him.
Not risking to climb any higher he decided to make his way downwards again in the hopes of many being able to find some kind of footprint to follow. Although he didn't expect much he still felt disappointed reached the ground. His feet and hand bruised by the climbing, he lay close to the ground like he once saw Loak do it when. Back then he remembered, Loak tried to teach him and his sister about their technics of hunting and gathering by reading the footprints and clues the animals of the forest left behind. And even though he could make out some kind of marks on the ground he could neither identify which animal they belonged to nor which way they were heading.
Laying on the ground, his tail twitching restlessly, he felt like an idiot. A fish out of water he thought. How Loak would laugh at him for being even worse at this than he was at diving. Even while Loak wasn't that bad at it as Aou'nung had to admit to himself.
Words of his father came to his mind back when he thought about talked the always present Way of the water.
Like a river, Aou'nung, finding his way through a mountain, must be ever-changing. Never resting until we can be one with Eywa. All our senses must help us to be like the water.
Aou'nungs stomach clenched together as thought about his father. He had never been this far away from home and the only thing keeping his mind straight was the memory of a Omatecicaya he might never see again.
"All our senses," Aou'nung spoke to himself and closed his eyes. He knew he would never be able to find anything familiar on those strange forest grounds but there was one thing he could recognise again. Both her smell and her step were something he would surely never forget again.
And he knew that she had to be somewhere around him. Watching and waiting for him to perhaps embarrass himself again. He smiled thinking of her many even being truly impressed by his skill and immediately concentrated himself.
Underwater, the smell was not as important but one thing he learned was to recognize even the small ripples and waves animals and Navi made while navigating through it.
Just like that, he spend the next hours rigorously hunting an illusive smell and the image of a Navi that just wouldn't leave his mind. Only did he stop when reaching a great clearing between all the trees and bushes. He didn't know how long he had been walking but he saw the sun standing bright above his head. When he looked around he felt a sense of accomplishment as his search brought him to an arrow garnished with the same ornaments he had seen on her bow a while back.
Pulling out the arrow from the thick tree he saw something behind it that he never expected to see at such an unfamiliar place. A great and running river broad and lively almost like the ones he knew from home.
Walking along the river he recognized a familiar voice, but not in the lovely tones he remembered, much rather screaming and cursing in ways he had rarely heard before. Gripping the arrow tight Aou'nung immediately started sprinting towards the noise.
Arriving at another clearing where his Navi, he had searched for so long was fighting intensity with a big menacingly looking fish.
Not a second went by and Aou'nung immediately jumped here to help. He knew that fish although he had rarely seen it out in the open ocean. It has scales as thick as a stone and if you didn't know where to hurt it you were better of leaving it in peace. But Aou'nung knew exactly where his weakness was, using the arrow he still held in his hands, he rammed it right under the giant fin of the fish hitting it right in the heart. Just in a few seconds The big twitching body Lost all its strength and fell onto the two jamming them together.
"Little fish! What are you doing here, is supposed to be the one guarding you." She gasped out in surprise but quite possibly also because of the fish pressing heavily on her chest.
"Well you kind of neglected your supervision duty and at last, didn't even tell me your name. I had to come and find you."
And there it was again that beautiful smile Aou'nung had hoped to see. "Well then, you did. Aou'nung defeater of the great Syaksyuk's would you know to help me get rid of this big fish?"
Now it was Aou'nung's time to smile as he pushed away the fish from both of the back into the water. "I know these fish," he says, still gasping for air a bit. " But I never expected them to be here, they belong on the islands of my home not in these sweet rivers."
"It's the RDA, they are disturbing Eywas's peace. Fish are where they're not supposed to be and people are fleeing their homes." now stopping to smile and looking at Aou'nung.
"I never thought of that." He replied, now feeling almost nervous, seeing her again all tall and mighty standing before him.
"You said, you are here because of a bet? Well then it is a dangerous bet, these days it is not safe in the forest for fish like you. Please, go home you see what can happen" Even the last bit of Aou'nungs confidence faded as he heard that but he wasn't about to leave. Not until he proved himself, that was his goal.
"Well then, you think a little fish like me can't prove himself worthy of knowing the name of a Syaksyuk like you? Then let me show you." even before she could react to being called a Syaksyuk Aou'nung pulled her close to him and threw himself into the running river. He knew he did more than just surprise her when he saw the astonished look on her face.
Again he couldn't help but smile.
The waters they were in now, although of an unfamiliar river, felt like a piece of the home had found him between all these strange plants and animals. Aou'nung was with that, more than ready to show her a part of his world.
"Aou'nung what are you trying to do ?? Do you want to drown me ?" She screamed at him as they both resurfaced, her gasping for air.
"Well, you never wanted to tell me your name. So, since a little fish out of water isn't probably worthy of hearing it, I wanted to show you what a fish in water can do. Even if it's not the ocean."
To his surprise, he heard her laugh out loud for the first time. "No my little fish. That is now what I meant. But go on." she grinned "Show me what makes you so special, son of the great olo'eyktan."
With the hand of her sentence, she quickly put her hand on his head and pushed him beneath the water's surface.
Satisfied with her approval, Aou'nung wasn't going to come up again that quickly.
He dove around her once or twice as he watched her head over the water follow him.
A bit along the river bed he spotted something. While there weren't any Ilus or coral reefs for him to show of to her he had discovered a little swarm of glowing fish in the distance.
Completely in his element again he gestured her to follow him but waited unsuccessfully for a response.
He reemerged from the water just to have a clear look at her happy but slightly confused face. "You are very quick underwater, that I must admit. But what was it that you wanted to show me Aou'nung? I couldn't hear a thing."
" This is the language of the Metkayina." he moaned. More annoyed by himself than her. How could he have forgotten the countless days he spent teaching Loak and Kiri just the simplest of things? But he knew it wasn't in vain. And it did also make quite an impression.
"I can teach you a few phrases if you like. But first follow me, as quietly as possible. Or just hang onto me if that's easier. " he exclaimed all proudly feeling a bit like his father once teaching him.
"Sure you can little fish, but I want to grab onto your tail no matter how nice you ask" she boldly countered his daydreams and brought him back to the river.
Sighing he dove back under the water with her right at his tail and although she was by far not as good or quiet of a swimmer as him, they did manage to reach the small swarm.
Aou'nung smiled at her astonished face underwater and signed just the word for fish to her.
Slowly and again and again he repeated it until she picked on and started to do it herself.
Looking incredibly proud of herself, Aou'nung pulled her back above the water worried she might forget to breathe as focused as she seemed.
"Look little fish !!! I can understand you." This time not talking to him but the swarm right in front of them. " You couldn't have been a better teacher Aou'nung. But what are those called? I've rarely seen them before."
"They are similar to your Sloapek," Aou'nung responded knowing that he at least managed to show off a bit. " Or pincer fish as the sky people call them. Small and harmless to us, but for little prey it can be quite deadly." Saying that he pinched his fingers together like two big claws and started wandering towards her.
"Although they look quite pretty, especially at night, just one bite and they got their prey caught forever." He says as he now furiously started to tickle her, water splashing all around them and both of them laughing.
Her laugh sounded beautiful to Aou'nung, like the sounds of those many colorful birds he saw on his first morning in the forest.
He couldn't remember if he ever heard anything more calming to him.
Hours passed for what felt like minutes to Aou'nung as they playfully swam and splashed through the river. Only when the sun started to set did they both realize how much time had passed.
"Well, I suppose you did you did keep your promise and continued watching over me. You even continued to hide your name from me."
" That is true little Aou'nung. But I realized I want more than that. Maybe I should have shown you our world from the beginning. Come on, now you can follow me.”
he didn't need to hear that twice. Without a word more spoken the two of them left the water.
Her wet hair gracefully wound along her shoulders and swung in the tact of her steps.
Over and over he was fascinated by this mysterious creature, like fire and rain her mood changed and he was willing to change with it just to be hers.

Hello there!! I hope you're doing great it's my first time ever requesting something so I'm kinda nervous writing this but can I request a Ao'nung x reader where they are dating but Ao'nung is ashamed of reader because she is a sully so when they are around his friend he kinda pushed her away until they're gone
Sorry if it's kinda weird hehe
Ashamed
pairings: aonung x sully!reader
warnings: kinda toxic aonung
summary: you figure out why he wanted your relationship a secret
a/n: hello! i hope you enjoy and i hope this is what you meant by the ask :) also it’s definitely not weird at all!!
Tumblr media
You have been dating Aonung for two weeks but not the way you want to, Aonung insisted that you two should keep your relationship on the down low- meaning not to tell anyone.
Him doing that made you very upset, especially heartbroken. You wanted to be able to hold hands with him freely, hang out just the two of you.
You hated meeting in secret and only being able to see him mainly at night because the two of you were most likely busy during the day or he would just push you away until all your friends left.
You didn’t notice it at first when it started- when he wouldn’t talk to you when you were all around friends, when he would ignore you when you would speak to him but you just brushed it off thinking he didn’t hear you.
You didn’t know about him picking on Kiri, and you especially didn’t know about the fight between him and your brothers.
Your siblings all talked about how much they disliked him but you didn’t think much of it because he didn’t act that way when you were around and even when you two would talk he would never bring them up.
You just wanted to be able to express your love to him without it being kept a secret, it soon began to feel like he was ashamed.
Could it have been because you were not like him? Because you had five fingers and not four? He never said anything about it so you never really bothered to ask.
You had spoken to Aonung about telling everyone you were together and all he said was the same thing over and over, “ Soon we will tell everyone we are together, just have patience. "
You internally rolled your eyes when he said that- beginning to grow angrier and angrier as the days went by.
You couldn’t handle it anymore, and today was the day that really sent you off.
You and Tsireya, Roxto, Aonung, and a few other of their friends were all in the water laughing and making jokes.
You looked at Aonung a smile on your face which he didn’t return and quickly looked away, making you frown.
You hated it.
He ignored you the entire day, acting like you didn’t even exist. But then you started to notice the snarky comments he was sending your siblings.
Eventually the day came to an end and everyone was gone- except for Aonung, the two of you sat together in the sand.
“ What was that today? " You questioned, looking straight at him and the anger was evident in your voice.
“ What are you talking about? " He asked, a hint of confusion in his voice.
You rolled your eyes at his words, “ You were clearly ignoring me today, I mean I know you wanna keep us a secret but you can still talk to me. "
Aonung sighed and turned his head away from you, “ I wasn’t ignoring you. "
“ Did I do something wrong? Is it because you’re ashamed? Is that why you want to keep us a secret? " I asked, tears beginning to cloud my vision but I pushed them away.
“ No! Why would I be ashamed? " He questioned, but little did he know Neteyam told me about what he said about Kiri and Loak.
“ I’ve been told what you did, you made fun of my brother for having five fingers and not four, but I have five fingers as well- you called him a freak so that means I’m a freak. "
“ I- I didn’t mean it like that, you’re not a freak and I’m not ashamed. " Aonung whispered, why was he acting like this? Why couldn’t he just say the truth?
“ Admit it. You’re ashamed and you’re embarrassed. You don’t wanna be seen with me- a sully, or what you call us, a freak. " I spoke, my voice raising as I stood up.
“ Fine! You want me to admit it? Fine! I was embarrassed. And yes, I have said things about your family, I will admit but I have never said a bad thing about you. " Aonung spoke, getting up as well, looking down at me.
“ That doesn’t matter Aonung, they are my family. It doesn’t matter that you’re not talking about me because everything you’ve said applies to me. " I spoke, he was about to say something but I cut him off.
“ It all makes sense now, wanting this relationship to be a secret, us meeting in secret. " I yelled, doing a finger motion between us,
“ This relationship is over until you have some courage to tell others about me and not be embarrassed, you know this really shows how much you care about me. "
“ Y/n, I love you. " Aonung cried, “ I never meant to hurt you, I was just not thinking- you changed me, I never should’ve acted that way with your family, none of you are freaks and I’m sorry for keeping us a secret, I was just scared. "
“ I think we should take a break from eachother, I think that’s what’s for the best. " I spoke, a tear rolling down my cheek. Aonung began to cry and I felt my heart break as he dropped onto his knees.
***
Days passed since I broke up with Aonung and I haven’t really seen him around.
I sat on the ground with Tuk as we made some bracelets inside of our marui. The loud chatter of my siblings voices were heard outside of the marui slowly getting closer and closer.
“ You will never guess what happened today Y/n, it’s insane! " Loak yelled, my head immediately shooting up at him.
I tilted my head to the side and made a motion for him to continue, “ Aonung apologized for being a skxawng and calling us freaks, he said he wanted to be friends with us. "
My eyes widened, “ Really? That’s so surprising, I wonder why he did that." I spoke, making my siblings nod their heads at my words.
I knew I had to go speak to him, “ Kiri, could you continue to make bracelets with Tuk? I have to go do something really fast. " I asked, Kiri nodded her head and I immediately ran to search for him.
I looked everywhere for him and nothing. I sighed as I walked towards where I broke up with him and my ears perked up when I saw him sitting there by himself.
As I got closer he must’ve noticed my presence because he turned his head towards me, his eyes shocked.
“ What are you doing here? " He mumbled, I slightly smiled and sat down next to him.
“ I’ve come to see you, Loak told me what you did, how you apologized to them- it means a lot that you are fixing your mistakes for me. "
“ I told you that I love you and that means I’ll doing anything for you, that means if you are willing to get back with me we can tell everyone that we are together and that you will be soon be my mate. " Aonung spoke, hope in his eyes and he looked at me.
I paused for a moment, debating my decision. I love Aonung. A smile appeared on my face as I slowly leaned in and kissed him.
I pulled away and a grin appeared on his face, “ I would like that a lot. " I spoke.
When my siblings found out we were dating they were extremely shocked but then all agreed that it was suspicious that he just apologized to them out of the blue.
Aonung began to work on his relationship with you family and he regretted being so mean because he soon became extremely close to each of your family members.
He even became closest to Loak which was a huge suprise because he told you that they were the main two that did not get along.
Everything was different now and you two no longer had to sneak away in secret, Aonung was no longer ashamed and embarrassed and even his parents began to grow a liking to the Sullys.

・You were the eldest of Tonowari and Ronal’s children. A Metkayina leader of the future.
・You have many skills, learning from both your parents and the other members of the clan. A great hunter, creator and a deep love for the ocean.
・Eywa was a big presence in your life, something that your brother, Aounung was jealous of
・Tsireya idolises you, and when she was younger, all she wanted to do was be around you
・However, you weren’t very outgoing, and preferred the company to one or two friends - or mainly yourself whenever you got the chance
・You have your own Tulkun, whom you love dearly. They’re incredibly protective of you, as you are for them.
・That’s where you spend the majority of your free time - talking with your Tulkun. You have an incredibly close bond, almost like telepathical
・When the Sully’s sought refuge, you were one of the first to speak up in their defence
・Not only did you like the look of the Omaticaya people, but you were curious about their ways.
・You wanted to learn more - grow as a Na’vi. You wanted to be someone with an open-mind.
・It was why you got along so well with your sister Tsireya, Aounung on the other hand was a bit of a challenge. He always had been. And being the middle child, he definitely liked to act out
・You formed a close friendship with both Tuk and Kiri. You always found the young ones funny. It was your instinct as the eldest child to look after the younglings around you.
・And with Kiri, you loved her connection to the land. You could watch her for hours as she interacted with the environment around her.
・You could see that she was special; Eywa had something incredible in store for Kiri. You just wished the rest of the clan would accept them
・But your eye was always searching for Neteyam, the eldest of the Sully kids
・Almost like a guardian angel, you were there when he needed you most. And your brother would tease you relentlessly, but Tsireya understood. She encouraged you to pursue Neteyam
・As you encouraged her to pursue Lo’ak
・And your romance was slow. Even though you both had deep feelings for each other, it was like neither of you could confess it. For one reason or another.
・You spent time together, teaching him the ways of your people. He was especially interested in the coming of age rituals. Neteyam wanted to participate.
・You told him he didn’t have to, that accomplishing the Omaticaya rituals was enough. But not for Neteyam, he wanted to prove himself.
・Then, when the event happened with Quaritch, everything changed.
・ Luck, no, not luck. It was destiny that you were there to save Neteyam.
・What would have been a bullet would was only a flesh wound, however, it did cut him deep
・The Sully’s were eternally grateful, Neytiri especially. She nearly lost her firstborn, and for that she felt indebted to you.
・However, Neteyam was wounded, and it took him a month to fully recover. You visited him everyday, bringing fresh food and changing his bandages. This was how you two grew close. A deep bond was formed.
・You both felt Eywa’s presence when you looked into each other’s eyes and finally realised who you were to one another. Mates.
𝑁𝑆𝐹𝑊 🔞No one under the age of 18 past this point, I bloody mean it.
・The mating ritual is the same for every Na’vi, it’s the connecting of the queues, from nightfall until sunrise.
・The mating ritual and sex are two different things, but ultimately the Na’vi only have sex with one other for their entire lives.
・And although Neteyam would have loved to perform tsaheylu underneath the Tree of Souls, the Metkayina don’t stay underwater for that entire time.
・Some may choose to visit the Spirit Tree and connect for a brief moment while holding hands, or to choose a secluded spot and invite Eywa’s presence
・You chose to do both
・Both of you swam down to the Spirit Tree and connected to it, seeing each other through the other’s eyes
・You could feel the other’s love and devotion
・After opening your eyes, you kissed and swam to the surface, where you found a vacant part of the beach to stay until the next day
・Connecting with Neteyam was like nothing you had ever experienced before. You were able to feel his pain, his happiness, the weight of responsibility and the dedication Neteyam has to his family
・In turn, Neteyam felt the same. For you both had the duty of being the first born
・When the mating was completed, it was announced through all the clan that you were together
・Tonowari held a great feast in your honour. He was more than proud, as was your mother, sister and brother
・You had completed a big part of Na’vi life, and the Sully’s welcomed you into the family with open arms. Especially Neytiri, once she got to know you and how good of a hunter you were
・Sex is different then mating, but you still connect your queues nonetheless. It intensifies the bond, and completely takes hold of your body, mind and soul
・Neteyam is a soft lover, he likes to make you feel loved, safe and worthy
・His favourite thing is to bite your neck though, especially when he’s in midthrust. It’s like another way of combining your bodies. He wants to be as close to you as possible

HII!!, i just randomly thought of this, but have you watched the barbie movie? and yk the song with Billie eilish "what was I made for" like what if reader was in a toxic relationship before their relationship with this new character(could be neteyam or ao'nung, or your choice of character) where readers ex boyfriend didn't care for readers feelings, and is really toxic is all, so reader hides her emotions/trauma from her new lover, like with the lines in the song "im sad again, don't tell my boyfriend, it's not what his made for" and so readers new lover finds out about this and like reassures her that she can always share her feelings with them and ykyk, Anyways It's just a thought, you don't have to do it, oh but please do😭

You watched as Ao’nung soared through the water with his friends, riding their skimwigs as they passed a ball back and forth, playing a traditional game of water polo. You would’ve been playing, or at least in the line with the other girls who were bound to play the next round but a nauseating feeling has been bothering you for the past few days.
It had been at least half a year since you and your family sought Uturu in Awa’atlu. Being raised in a forest and suddenly being stripped of your home in a matter of hours made it hard to adjust. Yes, you should’ve been used to it now, but even after all this time you just…couldn't connect.
You connected well with Ao’nung, and you loved him, but not everyone supported the relationship. He was the Olo’eyktans son, and you were the demon's daughter. Safe to say it caught everyone, including you, off guard when he began to pursue you. It also caused a little drama between you and the other girls on the reef. You didn’t know much about his dating history, but allegedly there was a singular girl he was supposed to court. Especially since he would be Olo’eyktan in the future if not Tsireya. That girl hated you, and she didn’t try to hide it either.
You felt them staring, the girl and her clique staring as you sat alone in the sand watching your boyfriend. Their eyes made the sun beam harder, and the heat of it all made your head pound. You wanted Ao’nung to come over. To whisk you away or to tell them off, but you repressed yourself.
After all, you were probably being emotional. Just like your last boyfriend said. It was normal for him to berate you after pulling him away from his “duties”. He dumped you after a year or so for being “too clingy” and “too emotional” and said that it was probably your fathers demon blood that made you "do that stuff" since the Sully family was full of “freaks”.
This did not slide with your parents at all. You begged them to not escalate the situation but they just couldn't help it. Jake began putting the boy through more rigorous training and your mother became more vocal with her distaste of making him a warrior. In the moment, they might have thought they were helping, but in reality it only supported your exes claims.
So when you got here to Awa’atlu and got labeled as ‘freaks’ and ‘demons’ it brought you back to what you already were back at home.
You stood and began walking away from the beach, feeling more self conscious than usual. You hated the feeling, and when you were left alone for too long your mind began to wander. The subconscious thought of you and Ao’nungs relationship not ending on good terms haunted you, and you were desperate to rid yourself of those thoughts. You found yourself lingering and strolling over to the tropical first of Awa’atlu, the closest to home you could get. Your fingertips brushed over the coiled flowers and brushes, giving you that sense of fulfillment.
You and Kiri had a similar connection and love for nature, but lately she’s been getting her stimulation from the sea.
Sitting on the ground, and laying against the damp grass, you looked at the sky that was bordered by palm trees and distant birds flying. You tried to manipulate your reality by imagining the thicker forestry and the sounds of animals hooting and hollering in the distance, but you couldn't.
The trees felt like a dark hole. A circle of a place you could never call home. You sighed deeply, and tried to make most of what you had.
Not even an hour in, you heard the crunching of grass get louder. You internally groaned, knowing it was Ao’nung.
Without a word, he laid next to you, staring up into the sky as you were.
“You gotta stop running off on me like that.” He said silently.
“I didn’t mean to…I just…got distracted.”
Ao'nung felt a pit in his stomach himself. He knew you were lying. Even though he teased and joked around with you a lot. He knew it was time to sit and talk to you.
“You’re lying.” He said bluntly. “You’re depressed.”
You said nothing, letting his words sink in. You’d come to that conclusion a while ago, but you avoided saying it out loud.
“Is it because of me?”
“No.” You said immediately.
“It's the reef. Isn't it? You miss your home.”
“I do miss my home.” You nodded.
The both of you fell silent again. Waiting for the other to say something. Neither one of you were good with stuff like this.
“Why do you never talk to me?” He asked. “You never talk about your life in the forest.”
“It would be just as bad as talking about my experience here. I don’t fit in anywhere.”
Ao’nung let out a chuckle. “Without the angsty teen typical ‘I don’t fit in” bullshit.” He started, which caused you to let out a genuine laugh. Maybe it was corny. “I want you to tell me. Life before the reef. Life before me.”
“Are you sure you want to hear it?”
Ao'nung rolled over to turn to you and you did the same, looking over at him.
“Of course I want to hear Y/n.” He said with furrowed eyebrows. “I want to hear every little stupid idea and thought in your head. You need to let me in. I want you to let me in.”
You felt a pang of guilt surge through your body. This was the first time he…or anyone has said anything like that to you before. Here you were, treating him like your ex where you could share nothing personal, and this entire time he wanted you to.
“Well now I feel bad.” You mumbled.
He whirled his fingers around a strand of your hair and smiled. “You don’t need to. I know how anxious you get.”
With a deep breath, you began rambling. Talking more than you had in the past year. You told him everything, from sleeping in bioluminescent gardens and very public fights with your ex. You talked about the events leading up to arriving at Awa'atlu, along with a sprinkle of your dad’s backstory.
You told him about how you felt ashamed to be his girlfriend, especially with how the other people on the reef felt about your family.
In all, you probably talked his ear off for an hour. But the craziest thing is that he sat and listened to every word. Nodding along, even interjecting a few times to validate your feelings and thoughts.
With each word and look of affirmation you felt a large weight lifting off of your shoulders, even relieving pressure you didn’t even know was there. Your chest wasn't tight, and you didn’t feel nauseous.
“See? That didn’t kill you.” Ao’nung said with a soft smile. “We’re not all dicks you know.” He placed his hand on the dip of your waist. “You just got paired with a shitty first boyfriend…and it sucked.”
You bit your bottom lip to stop it from trembling, listening to Ao’nung give you the much needed reassurance. “I may not be able to save you or help you with every issue you come across on the reef, but I'll do my best to protect you from anything I can control.” He patted your waist.
After talking, especially now. You felt pretty stupid that you had pre-judged your boyfriend and thought that he wouldn't care. This whole time, all you wanted was someone to understand you. He most likely noticed you were falling into a pit before you did yourself.
“Hey,” He poked your forehead. “We build from here. We both have no idea what we’re doing.”
“You definitely don't.” You giggled.
He flicked your nose before standing and pulling you upwards, pulling you to god knows where.

When you had first arrived at Awa'atlu, Ao’nung had pegged you as the silent, strong-willed eldest daughter of the Sully family. During training you only ever kept to yourself, practicing on your own as soon as you mastered whatever technique they were teaching you that day. You weren’t rude, just very stand-offish.
So stand-offish to the point where not even his insults or antics could get a reaction out of you. It drove him mad, really. Your other siblings, save for probably Neteyam, had given him the reaction that he had expected, wanted even. He thrived on attention, be it bad or good – it’s what made him feel confident.
So when you arrived here, paying him no mind, his brain had gone haywire. He tried doing everything he could – jokes, pranks, and hell, even compliments for minor achievements. Those didn’t work, and he was just about to give up on garnering anything out of you until today happened. He hadn’t seen it coming.
Tumblr media
He had spotted you and Kiri by the shore, sitting together as you admired the sand. Ao’nung was aware that this environment was new to you, yet he still found it strange how you always managed to be so entranced by every single thing. He murmured something to his friends, and they snickered at his words.
You turned then, your bright yellow eyes looking at all of them with disinterest. He flashed you a smile and again you did nothing, not even an eye roll. He felt it falter, though he kept it up as soon as your sister lifted herself out of the water.
“Huh? What’d you say?” She asked, her tone so welcomingly friendly.
“Are you some kind of… freak?” He teased, his hands coming up to grab her arm.
“No,” She answered flatly, trying to pull herself out of his grasp.
He waved it around then, as if it were some toy. His friends all laughed at your sister’s hand, treating her like some kind of deformity. You quickly pulled her out of their circle, your face slowly forming a scowl. His eyes widened slightly as he took note of your reaction – success? Not quite, but nearly. He continued on with his antics, hoping that today would finally be the day he got something out of you.
You didn’t understand why Ao’nung was so fixated on treating you and your family like shit. He was a menace, and you honestly couldn’t believe you’d made it this far without retaliating against him. You wanted to yell at them to stop, but you knew that you would only be provoking them.
“Are you sure? I mean, you’re not even real na’vi.” Ao’nung continued, his hand now coming up to pull on your tail.
You yelped, instantly turning to face him. If looks could kill, he would’ve been dead the moment you laid eyes on him. You hated it when strangers touched you without warning, let alone people you hated. Eywa, you wanted nothing more than to smack the entitlement out of this boy. But still you remained silent, opting to just walk away from the situation.
You heard your brothers then, suddenly joining the crowd. Lo’ak guided the both of you further away while Neteyam stopped whatever else was about to fly out of Ao’nung’s mouth. Your scowl remained though, and you kept your death stare focused on him and his circle of idiots.
“And from now on,” Neteyam concluded, his expression just as pissed as yours, if not, even more. “I need you to respect my sisters.”
He made eye-contact with you briefly, and something about the look in his eyes told you that he had no intention of keeping his word. You scowled even deeper.
One of his friends actually had the gall to hiss at your brother, though Ao’nung had made the smart choice of holding him off. Neteyam made his way back to you now, gesturing for you guys to head back to the village. And you were going to– really, you were, but Ao’nung just couldn’t keep his damn mouth shut.
“Look at them, they’re all freaks. Especially quiet girl,” He said, his tone hushed but loud enough for you to still hear. “She’s already a four-fingered freak, what more if she can’t even handle a little tug.”
He had his back turned to you as you stomped angrily towards him, your fist already clenched at your side. His friends had no time to warn him as you angrily jerked his shoulder, making him face you.
“[Y/N] leave it be!” Kiri begged, but it was already too late.
You decked him, hard. He stumbled as he fell, landing straight into the shallow water. He blinked slowly as he regained whatever balance he had left, his hand coming up to caress his cheek. Everyone looked at you in shock. In your entire stay with the Metkayina clan, never did you act out this rashly before. In fact, you never acted out at all.
“Four-fingered freak, you say?” Your tone was taunting him, your tail swinging rapidly as you tried your best to keep yourself at bay. “You mean the freak who just put you on your ass?”
His friends hissed at you, already lunging towards your direction for the insult. They didn’t make it two steps in as your brothers had already stepped in for you, swinging hits left and right. You were pushed out of the way, and you staggered backwards until you were next to Kiri again.
She gave you a look, and though you were older than her it felt like you were the younger one moments away before getting a scolding. In the end you had to pry your brothers away, eventually meeting up with your father by one of the pathways. All of you, except for Kiri, kept your heads bowed as you listened to your father’s words of displeasure.
To say he looked disappointed would be an understatement. He was pissed, yes, but more importantly he was embarrassed. He had asked of you guys one thing, and you had tried so hard to live up to your promise of respect. But today was your last straw.
You could tell your father was torn between having to scold you or let you go with just a warning. He knew now of Ao’nung’s torment, yet he didn’t want to jeapordize the safety the village provided for your family.
Wanting to fix this mess immediately, he walked the three of you to the chief’s marui. You sighed and closed your eyes as you walked, mad at yourself for even escalating this stupid situation in the first place. You had everything under control, but all it took was one tail tug and a few harsh words to have your composure come crashing down.
Tumblr media
Ao’nung leaned on the side of his marui now, watching as you and your brothers apologized for your actions. He held a cloth with medicinal paste against his cheek, his cuts stinging as he continued to dab it on. His mother and father stood beside him, their presence the only thing keeping him from mumbling any more digs at you.
You were the last to speak, and he could tell that you didn’t want to do this. You took a few moments before you finally looked up at him, your eyes filled with such resentment. The hand you had used to give him the bruising wound below his eye was still tightly fisted, your knuckles still red from the amount of force you had used in one blow.
“I am sorry,” You started, so much distaste in your words. “So sorry that I hit you. And I am even more sorry that I put you on your ass.”
Lo’ak snorted quietly, trying to keep quiet so as to not piss your dad off even more. You felt your father nudge your shoulder, and you redid your apology, this time with a little less sarcasm and annoyance.
Ao’nung’s parents sighed heavily as they approved of your words, followed by his father demanding that he apologize as well for his insults. He had tried to protest, but one look from Tonowari was enough to have him muttering a half-assed apology.
You didn’t care, it wasn’t sincere anyway. And even if it were, you had no intention of accepting it. Once all was said and done, you were the first one to go. You walked away, your expression back to its nonchalant one. You held your head up high, no longer hanging it in embarrassment.
Ao’nung had remained in his place, his mind still processing what had happened today. He was successful in his mission, but could it really be a success if he was the one injured? Could it really be a success if your feelings toward him were only momentarily, your stoic persona coming back almost instantly?
Needless to say though, the reaction he got out of you was unexpected. He knew you were tough, your father was Toruk Makto for crying out loud. But he wasn’t ready for your physical retaliation. Even at the beach, he only stared at you as his friends tried to defend him.
He winced again as he remembered the pain on his cheek, the bruised spot feeling incredibly sore. He was thankful that you didn’t aim for his jaw, since that truly would have shut him up for good. He brought his hand up, slightly tapping the tender area. Who would’ve known that a quiet little thing like you had so much power? Not him, clearly.
He continued to stand there, still examining all his injuries. His sister came up to him then, just coming back from wherever she had been. She looked at him, her eyes darting from bruise to bruise. What happened? her gaze said, though he had a feeling she already had an idea of the events that transpired today.
He only brushed her off, turning to walk back inside the pod. She followed after him, persistent in getting answers out of her brother. Tsireya sat in front of him, not leaving her place until he spoke. He gave her a look, but she gave him a look as well in return.
He groaned under his breath and rolled his eyes before he finally told her everything; the teasing, the taunts, the fight, your punch. She put a hand up to her mouth, much like how Lo’ak tried to compress his laughter a while ago. How fitting.
“Are you laughing?” He said, slightly offended that his own sister found his failures funny.
She pressed her lips into a tight line, shaking her head instantly, though he could see her fighting a grin. She put a hand up to his shoulder, patting him lightly as she got up, taking an empty basket with her.
“Oh big brother, just what have you gotten yourself into?” She said, the suppressed laugh from earlier sprinkled in her words. “If [Y/N] didn’t already despise you before, she definitely does now.”
“Why should I care?” He said as he stood, facing his sister with his arms crossed.
“Why should you care?” She turned and parroted his words, eyes wide at how infuriatingly dense Ao’nung was. “Need I remind you that she is the daughter of Toruk Makto, one of the greatest war leaders of our time.”
“She was on the path to becoming Olo’eykte of the Omatikaya,” He was about to interrupt her until she put her hand up, stopping him from saying anything before she finished. “It is not wise to have her as an enemy.”
“So, what, are you saying I should apologize?” He said. “I already did.”
She put a hand on her hip, clearly starting to get frustrated with her older brother. “No, you didn’t. And yes, I am telling you to go apologize to her – truthfully and sincerely this time.”
He wanted to protest against her, but she quickly tossed the basket she was holding to him. “Go now. She will be by the docks gathering materials for her family’s feast tonight.”
“But-” He tried, but Tsireya had already made up her mind in making him go in her place.
“How do you even know where she is?” He asked, his face scrunched up as he reluctantly made his way out of the marui.
“Because unlike you, I don’t treat her like an outcast. And besides, she likes me.” She said, her shoulders shrugging up at the last phrase. She smacked him on the back of his head before he was fully out of the pod, reiterating her words as he continued on his way.
Tumblr media
He found you then, folding dried leaves into your basket. You were right where Tsireya had said you would be, sitting quietly like always. You looked at peace in your solace, your body free of any tension. Your hair was up haphazardly, free from your usual taut braids. The evening breeze had finally come, the sky going from bright blue to muted orange.
He coughed as he made his way towards you, breaking the relaxing solitude you were relishing in. You looked up, still continuing on with whatever you were doing. Your loathing stare was enough to make him fidget in his place before he finally decided to speak up.
“I, uh,” He stuttered. Actually stuttered. He cursed himself mentally before continuing. “I just wanted to say that I am sorry. Again.”
You blinked away boredly, only humming and nodding your head in response. You quickly took your basket with you as you got up, already making your way back to your pod. You didn’t want to be alone with the reef boy any longer, Eywa only knows what you’d do if he dared to provoke you once more.
“[Y/N] wait-” He said, clumsily turning as he grabbed your arm.
You hissed at him, his grip on your arm falling as soon as he saw your reaction. Right, you did not like being touched without warning. He put his arms up, trying to show that he meant no harm.
“Are you not satisfied yet, hm? Does your ego still need to be fed?” You said, eyebrows furrowing as you continued to berate him. “You won! All you wanted was a reaction, right? Well you got it!”
“No!” He argued back, annoyance starting to creep up on him. This was pointless, of course you wouldn’t be willing to accept his apology, let alone be in his presence for more than five minutes. “I am trying to apologize, please just listen-”
“Kalweyaveng,” You muttered under your breath, hand coming up to hold your forehead as you tried to calm your nerves. You had already caused one scene today, you weren’t about to start another. You took a few breaths before you finally faced him again, trying to remain nonchalant as you, aversely, heard him out.
He tried to maintain eye-contact with you, but your stare was just so deep. It felt like you were trying to burn holes into his head the longer he stared at you. You tilted your head to the side, eyebrow raised as you were clearly getting impatient in the ever growing silence.
“Let’s call a truce.” He finally breathed out, his arm already outstretched in your direction. “New beginnings.”
You looked up at him, then down to his arm, then up back to him again. You squinted, unsure if he would be able to stick to his word. Not that it mattered, you were more than capable of handling any situation if he decided to break his vow. But still, a truce was an important promise, and it needed to be held truthfully all throughout.
It was painfully awkward now, his smug demeanor vanishing the longer he stayed quiet. He cursed his sister for setting him up to this, and he cursed himself even more for agreeing. He did not have to do this, he was the chief’s son – next in line for Olo’eyktan. But, regrettably, he knew Tsireya’s words were right. You were a mighty hunter, with a legacy of powerful warriors before you. It really wouldn’t be wise to have you against him.
“Please,” He said, breaking the silence. “I swear to Eywa that I will not break this vow.”
Your ears perked up at this – swearing on the Great Mother meant that someone was serious. You scoffed, huh, he actually meant it. You took his hand then, wrapping your fingers around his forearm as you shook in agreement. Though his hands were rough, they were gentle on you as he took note of your uncomfortableness with strangers.
You never liked the feeling of touch from people you didn’t know, and you still don’t, but Ao’nung’s warmth didn’t feel as bad now than compared to before.
“Truce.” You said, slowly removing your arm away from him.
He grinned. You frowned. He stopped grinning.
He walked with you now, keeping up with your pace. “So, what now, tree girl?” He teased.
You gave him a look as if to say ‘really?’, and he shrugged his shoulders. “I mean, we are friends now, right? I can call you that?”
You stopped, turning to the side to face him. You threw him your heavy basket unexpectedly, and he stumbled back as he tried to catch it without spilling any of the contents.
“Oh yeah, we are friends now, fish lips.” You said, tone laced in sarcasm. “And since we’re friends, you can carry that for me, right?”
You continued on your way then, not waiting for his reply. He watched you for a bit as you walked ahead, and he laughed slightly.
May Eywa bless him with the strength to earn your trust.

THE BOY'S A LIAR — [16+ content]
pairing. ao'nung x reader
summary. "we're never doing this again." you knew your boy well. he in fact, will be doing it again. he just needed a little push.
warnings — slight smut, swearing, implied smut at the end.
Tumblr media
masterlist.
pulling away from your tight grasp, ao'nung felt his body relax as his previous overstimulated member pulled out of your slick. his cock still hardened at the sight of your juices glistening on his bone. a whimper leaving his mouth, a small whisper leaving as well. shit.
"never... again." a huff coming from ao'nung's mouth as he got up. adjusting his loincloth back on, tying the two strings together to stay latched on his small waist. his once hard bone grew soft as he stood still for a few seconds. sweat ran down your forehead as you got up as well, tying your loincloth to your much small waist as well as placing on your beaded bra.
"that is what you said yesterday, ao'nung." you smirked, walking closer to the taller figure. a finger playfully making its way on his broad shoulder. gripping your wrist tightly as he pulled you closer, placing his palms on your waist.
"i know, but that top you wore today was distracting. but i mean it this time. no more of this. tsireya wouldn't love this at all, you know this." ao'nung stated, before slapping the flesh of your ass. you let out a yelp as he smiled downward to your state.
the mention of your best friend was a way to pick at your heart strings, ao'nung knew that. fucking your best friend's older brother was something you never expected, but here you two were.
roughly, your hand quickly reached the back of his head, pulling by his hair rather harshly. you watched as his head went backward slowly, a low moan leaving his mouth. you were beyond annoyed at the boy that stood before you.
"do not speak to me with such tone as if you are not the one who's underneath me, whimpering for a single release just with the touch of my fingers. you can deny it all you like. we both know who will come crawling back all hard and in heat." each sentence was a harder tug at his hair.
disobedient was a word to call ao'nung. everything about him was disobedient. you hated his shit attitude. he spoke to you as if he isn't the one begging to release. as if he wasn't the one who quite literally begged you to be his first ever person to fuck with. you hated how he spoke to you with such a disrespectful tone in his voice. but either way, you were always to put him in his place, especially when he came back to you. yearning for your touch. yearning for you to make him feel good. you loved him when he was a mess. but the little act of him being 'tough' was something you hated. however, you were always able to tame the little bitch of yours. always.
slowly releasing him from your grip, you pushed him out of your tent. "i'll see you here again, maybe, tomorrow? or at eclipse?" you asked with a smug painting your face.
with a scoff, ao'nung already made his way off. "i'll see you never, i promise you that."
rolling your eyes at the figure, you made your way into your marui. your boy always said that, but his actions never collided well with his speech.
Tumblr media
you had a conversation - more like eavesdropped - with some of the people in the village. overhearing the story of how the olo'eyktan's daughter, who was your best friend, who also held great responsibility, letting an outsider bond with another outsider. lo'ak and the infamous payakan.
so it was no doubt that if lo'ak was involved, then so was tsireya. additionally, if tsireya was in it, then so was your little fuck buddy; so you made the effort to dress all pretty and accidentally walk pass the olo'eyktan's hut.
as you made your way around the enormous hut, you saw the back of ao'nung's head. your eyes fell on his stripey back, his muscles slightly tense. with a simple flick of your hair, you made your way past the olo'eyktan's tent.
as you walked by, you felt the eyes of ao'nung. you felt his intense gaze, yet you chose to walk rather slowly, letting your hips move along with every step you made. paying no mind to the boy, his nose twitching at the scent you held. you rubbed the very same herbs tsireya gifted you on your neck. the very one you knew that made ao'nung go crazy while he fucked himself into you senseless. the very scent he loved to smell on your neck while you ride him, with your arms around his neck while he planted his arms around your small waist.
by the time you already made your way back to your hut, leaving his, you heard the very footsteps of ao'nung behind you. surprise, surprise.
"what the fuck was that?" you heard his voice growl as he forcefully turned you around. smirking back at his angered facials, "what was what?" you asked innocently.
"you know exactly what i am talking about." ao'nung says.
"well then, if you're so worked up about it. come and fix it in my hut, yeah?"
that being the last thing you muttered before, you both ended up in your marui pod, doing what only Eywa wished she could unsee.

A/N: First attempt at Avatar, so much fun to write and hopefully everybody enjoys!
Pairing: Neteyam Sully x Y/N
Word Count: 4,900+
Part 2 | Part 3
Tumblr media
Teal. Not turquoise like your brothers and sisters of the Metkayina. Not blue like the Omatikaya you knew your father once was. Teal. A party of one.
Often you sat on the dock outside of your families Marui staring at the reflection that echoed back to you. You looked so different than the rest of the Metkayina. Your skin color was just one difference to start but that’s not where it ended. Your tail was so much smaller than the rest of them. Even starting as a baby, you had the Omatikayan disadvantage of being just a bit slower in the water. You had stripes all over your body instead of the waves that came with being a full Metkayina.
Your eyes were neither yellow nor blue but bright green instead. You were just… different.
The Metkayina never made you feel any different though. They included you in everything as one of their own, your mother was one of them anyway. She grew up in the very same village she raised you in. All you’d learned of your father is what little she told you. That he died fighting the sky people and he was from the forest. She shut you down every time you tried to dig a little deeper to find something. It was too painful for her. Painful enough for her that she’d never indulge you, not even the slightest.
Your mother eventually found love again with a Metkayina man that gave you your younger siblings, your younger brother Zoti and sister Raxata. They, of course, looked normal leaving you to your insecurities as the odd one out. And that’s exactly what they were, your insecurities. Nobody ever dared to make you feel like an outcast or any different. But you couldn’t help it. You just looked so different than the rest of them, it was impossible not to feel terribly self-conscious about it all.
Swimming came naturally to you though. What initially was the Omatikayan disadvantage with your skinnier tale and arms ended up being a blessing for you. Over time you were able to get your strength up to their levels and even begun surpassing them in the water.
You grew close to the chief’s daughter, Tsireya, when she defended you from her brother picking on you in your younger days. Ao’nung never picked on you for the way you looked, Tonowari and Ronal would never allow their son to do so. Instead, he would tease you for things you could control. Like you being a suck up to your instructors or being a goody two shoes. Tsireya always told you it was just because he was comfortable enough around you to do so. He eventually grew out of it welcoming you as one of his sisters. Tsireya made it very clear to him you weren’t planning to go anywhere.
You found yourself spending more and more time with Tsireya’s family as you got older. It’s not that you didn’t love your own family your parents were just focused on your younger siblings. There was a nearly 10-year gap between you and Zoti, you being seventeen and him just turning eight. They needed the attention, you didn’t. You found yourself at Tsireya’s Marui for dinner almost every night. Ronal would even joke that you were their adopted daughter.
You were naturally a very reserved person. Sticking out like a sore thumb all your life you found yourself trying to blend in with the crowd as much as possible. You were sure this is what formed the larger components of your personality. Kind, passive and always wants to please people. That was your measure for success as you grew up. You were never able to shake it though. So here you were at seventeen, the shy quiet but overly friendly soon to be adult Metkayina.
You were so thankful for your friendship with Tsireya as she pushed you out of your comfort zone all the time. She made you the swimmer you were today. She was the one who gave you the confidence to speak up when you didn’t have it. She was your best friend through and through. She probably knew you better than your mother did.
The two of you were chatting about the day and feeding your Ilu’s when you heard a commotion from the village.
“Oh, wow.” Reya’s eyes went wide as she turned looking into the sky.
Your eyes grew just as big seeing the flying creatures circling the village. Not noticing the Na’vi riding the animals your eyes locked onto beasts, admiring them. Your breath nearly caught in your throat watching them twist and turn in the air so effortlessly, “They’re so beautiful.”
Whispering you looked onto the next one that flew right over the two of you.
“Come on! Let’s go!” She hopped onto her Ilu diving quickly.
Smiling you followed her. Racing through the waters you caught up with her quickly still managing to admire the underwater world around you. The endless sea creatures never seeming to dull after all these years. After five minutes of racing each other, something you and Tsireya did often, the two of you found yourself right in the center of where all the commotion was coming from.
Exiting the water, you found exactly what was causing all the chaos. Your mouth ran dry when you made eye contact with one of them, “Reya is that…?” Gasping you looked for your mother. Anybody that could explain who you were seeing before you.
“They look like you!” She too looked back and forth between you and the family of blue Na’vi, “Well not identical but wow.” You noticed how she made eye contact with one of the boys in the group. You also noticed how she perked right on up as she looked him over curiously. Reya might have known you like the back of your hand, but you too knew her just as well as she knew you. One thing she was never really interested in was the boys of the village, calling them all skxawngs. Not worthy of her time. But this? This you hadn’t seen from your best friend. It was like she was transfixed on the blue Na’vi.
Bumping her hip, you brought her out of her gaze, “Omatikaya.” Whispering you too made eye contact with the other brother who was giving you the most peculiar look. Eyebrows close together his gaze lingered on yours.
“Like your dad?” She asked continuing to stare.
Nodding your head, you looked down to her, “I think so.”
The pair of you were interrupted when Ronal began waltzing around the family pointing out all of their supposed flaws. She pointed out their thin tails, their small arms and their yellow eyes not suited for the water.
With every flaw she pointed out you could feel yourself sinking back into yourself. Not being able to stop your emotions it felt like she was speaking right to you. You shared these ‘flaws’ with the Omatikayan family standing there before you. How could it not hurt? That was Ronal, your second mom.
Taking a small step back you looked back to the family. The one boy continued to watch you making your heart rate pick up. The stares and the hurtful words from Ronal were too much for you, “I’m going back to my marui to find my mother.” Whispering into to Reya’s ear you began to turn before she stopped you.
“Why Y/N?” Frowning she noticed your distressed face and fidgeting hands.
Scanning the crowd, you still couldn’t find your mother, but your brother and sister were huddled around their father, “This is too much Reya. Too much right now.” She let your arm go after seeing you in such a state. A state of panic.
Luckily all eyes were on the Omatikayan family making your escape that much easier. Slowly you backed yourself into the water knowing that nobody would notice. Taking a breath, you submerged yourself while calling for you Ilu. You Ilu, Maka, rushed you back to your marui feeling your uneasiness through the bond.
“Mom!” You called once you made it back home.
“Y/N.” She dropped her smile once she saw your expression. You looked to be in pain as you paced the family’s pod.
“Mother, there are Omatikaya here.” Not beating around the bush, you needed her right now. You needed her to step up for you. You know how uncomfortable talking about your father or his people made her but now that they were literally standing in front of you, you needed her. Her guidance and strength to navigate whatever the hell was about to happen.
“There are what?”
“Omatikaya people! A whole family.”
Her face went pale as she rushed out of the marui and right into the water. Groaning you followed her diving right back into the water.
When you made it back to the village center the blue family was still the center of attention. Tonowari and Ronal looked to be having a silent conversation before the Olo'eyktan began speaking, “Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us. Treat them as our brothers and sisters. But they do not know the sea. So, they will be like babies taking their first breath. Teach them our ways so they do not suffer the shame of being useless.”
“What do we say?” The father spoke seemingly a little relieved by Tonowari and Ronal’s grace.
“Thank you.” The little one spoke followed by the rest of the family.
Tonowari began again, “My son Ao’nung and our daughter Tsireya will show your children what to do.”
“Father, why?” Ao’nung jumped forward clearly annoyed by his dad.
“It has been decided.” Tonowari pointed and gave him a look that made his son back down immediately.
“Come! I will show you, our village.” Reya jumped in attempting to save her brother from her father’s wrath.
Standing behind your mother again you made eye contact with the blue boy again. Instead of the stoic face he was studying you with earlier he gave you a soft smile instead. Smiling back at him you took the opportunity to look him over.
His markings were so similar to yours. Stripes instead of waves around his body and face. He was so much taller and leaner than any of the Metkayina boys you ran with. The way his hair was braided was so different than the way and you and Reya did yours, much tighter than your loose braids. He was handsome. The entire family was beautiful. Almost too enamored in your observations you hadn’t even noticed Reya marching her way over to you, Sully family in tow.
Before you could even react, Reya was at your side, “Come on Y/N! Let’s go show them.”
“Show them?” You clearly weren’t paying attention as you looked up to your mother for approval.
“Show them their new home! The marui that’s open by you!” She clapped gleefully.
“Can I?” Still looking at your mom you got nervous once you asked. She too was in a somewhat shocked state seeing the outsiders for the first time.
Giving her the most pleading eyes, you were practically begging her at this point, “Ma’ite I don’t think that’s the best idea.”
“Mother, please.” You took her hand in yours, “For me? You know this would mean the world to me mom.”
She looked between you and the family, taking a second to contemplate all of her options. She nodded softly, “Ma Y/N, just be careful.”
“Oh, thank you mother!” You jumped up kissing her cheek. Reya quickly yanked you away making a beeline towards them.
“Did you say in the marui by us?” You asked your best friend as she walked forward.
“Yes! That’s what dad said anyway. Ao’nung and I are going to train them too! You should help us!” Grinning she picked up her pace.
“I don’t think mother would be too thrilled if…”
Before you could get it all out you were stopped by Reya right in front of them, “Hi!” Reya waved to them while you stood behind her trying not to look at the boy that kept catching your eye, “I’m Tsireya, that’s my brother Ao’nung and this is my best friend Y/N.” She yanked you forward. Best you could do was give them a small wave, “We’ll be helping you guys learn the ways of the water. Now follow me, you all must be exhausted.”
Reya moved quickly. You could just tell how excited she was. You kept her pace not wanting to interact with any of them individually, not yet anyway. The whole situation was so intimidating to you. You were the only one here who resembled them in the slightest. Would they expect you to know the ways of the forest? How embarrassing would that be? Often you would head off to the trees when you knew nobody would be looking for you. Trying time and time again you figured out how to climb and jump from tree to tree but that was about it. Without your mother telling you any details you didn’t have a clue what forest people did.
Getting pulled out of your thoughts you felt a hand grabbing at yours while Reya led the family towards their pod. Looking down you were being pulled on by the smallest member of the family, “Hi Y/N! I’m Tuk!”
“Hi Tuk.” Smiling you slowed down to keep pace with the smaller girl, “It’s so nice to meet you.”
“You to. You are so pretty!”
“She is, isn’t she?” Reya turned around hearing your conversation with the little girl.
Glaring at your best friend she simply giggled and charged on, “Thank you Tuk.”
“You look like me. And you look like her.” She pointed to Reya.
“Tuk Tuk that’s enough.” Her father scooped her up attempting to end his daughter’s conversation right then and there.
“But she does!” Tuk pouted into her father’s embrace.
“Tuk, quite ma’ite.” She placed a finger over her mouth signaling for the child that the questions were enough, “I apologize Y/N. I am Neytiri and this is Jake Sully.” She smiled lovingly at her mate, “Kiri, Lo’ak, and Neteyam.” She pointed to each of her children as she spoke their names. Reya had paused the group as introductions were happening before had planned. You saw her grinning from ear to ear as Neytiri pointed Lo’ak out.
Neteyam. A handsome name for a handsome man. Breaking your stare away from him you trained your eyes back on the little girl in the arms of her father, “It’s okay, Tuk. I know you’re just curious right?”
She nodded in her father’s arms trying to squirm away. The attempt was rather futile though. There wasn’t a chance she was breaking through his iron grip on her, “Yes!”
Laughing you had to indulge the child’s curiosity. You were sure the rest of the Sully family was curious as well. They just hid it a bit better, “I am like you. Except only half like you. I’m also like Reya over there.” Pointing to you best friend you couldn’t stop smiling as Tuk seemed so interested in every word you had to say, “Except, only half like her too.”
“Half me and half her… no wonder you’re so pretty!”
Who would’ve thought an eight-year-old child would’ve made you blush like you were. But here you were blushing like a skxawng in front of her family, “Thank you Tuk.”
“Can I put flowers in your hair?” Tuk continued to struggle in her father’s arms. He seemed unbothered as he listened in curiously to the conversation between his daughter and the girl who looked strangely like an Omatikayan.
“Anytime Tuk.” The little one brought you comfort immediately. She was so bold and outspoken, nothing like you even now.
Curiosity got the better of Neytiri. She had never seen somebody like you. A mix of Metkayina and Omatikaya, “Your father, what’s his name?” She asked as Reya began to guide the group to their new home.
Taking a moment to collect your thoughts you did not turn back to her when you spoke, eyes forward or you’d probably cry, “I do not know. My mother will not tell me.”
“Why?” She asked quickly earning a stern look from her mate, warning her not to push it with the girl.
This time you did turn back while you walked, “I think it hurts her. The only thing I know of him is that he fought against the sky people and never made it home.”
Jake then looked at her curiously. Her story was unfortunately all too common in the Omatikaya clan. Too many passed away defending their homeland. Did he know her father? Fight with her father? He looked for any indication he could know who the girl’s father was. He could see it in the way her demeanor had shifted that it made her sad to talk about it. Like she craved to know more but was always stopped short of her goal.
“We’re here!” Reya smiled opening the pod’s door for the family to explore. She sensed the growing tension in the group opting to change the conversation entirely.
Once everyone was inside, you waiting by the door for Reya, she got everybody’s attention, “Lessons will begin tomorrow at sunrise. Y/N and I will be here to pick the four of you up then.” Reya then turned her attention the adults in the room, “My mother and father will train you both as well. They should be around sometime tomorrow morning.”
“Thank you Tsireya,” Jake spoke turning to look at you as well, “Y/N.”
“We look forward to it. Rest up. My mother will be by with some food as well. Feel free to explore the village.” Reya smiled as she walked towards you, “And if you need anything, Y/N and her family are one marui over.”
You nodded confirming what she said, “Just the one right there.” Pointing towards your pod you glanced over at Neteyam for the first time in a while. He was looking right at you with a soft smile playing at his lips.
“Thank you Y/N. Me and my siblings look forward to tomorrow.” Neteyam spoke before either of his parents could get a word in. He couldn’t help it. He was downright fascinated by the girl. She wasn’t just pretty she was absolutely stunning. Unlike anything Neteyam has ever seen. He couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of you. Which earned a few elbows in the ribs from his brother making fun of him.
He admired the way you interacted with Tuk. You made her feel like she had a valid question without making her feel bad. Your bright smile and green eyes that complimented your skin tone so beautifully was a sight Neteyam knew he wouldn’t grow tired of. He was genuinely so excited to see you tomorrow, to get to know you a little bit more once the sun comes back up.
With a quick nod you and Reya exited their marui, giving them some time to get acquainted to their new home and very different surroundings.
“He couldn’t take his eyes off of you sister!” Reya grabbed your arms as the two of you walked back to her families pod to get food ready for the Sully’s.
“What are you talking about?” You attempted to play dumb. Not even sure why you attempted Reya could see right on through you.
She rolled her eyes, “Neteyam!”
“He was not.”
“Don’t be stupid.” She hit the back of your head, “He did not take his eyes off you the entire time.”
“Probably because I look like a freak...”
“Don’t you dare.” Reya almost hissed at you, “You do not put yourself down because you look a little different. A little bit more beautiful than the rest of us.” She pinched your arm earning a smack from you this time, “Besides he wasn’t looking at you in curiosity, he was looking at you like he wants to get you naked.”
“Reya!” You shoved her off the bridge right into the water. Once she resurfaced, she began laughing like never before.
“Seems to me like you want to do the same.” Reya giggled swimming away from you. She just knew how to get the better of you in these situations. Diving in after her the two of you made it back to her pod continuing to bicker back and forth like the best friends you are.
Tumblr media
“You must breathe from your stomach.” You patted your own as you tried to teach Neteyam how to hold his breath longer. His diving wasn’t bad, but his lack of breathing was holding him back in the water.
Reya had split the group up. Giving you Neteyam and Kiri to teach, she and Ao’nung took Lo’ak and Tuk. Kiri picked it up quicker than any average Metkayina even would, fascinating you. She even got an Ilu to approach and bond with her within the first hour the group was in the water. You had an inkling that Reya did this on purpose, leaving you to teach Neteyam solo.
Neteyam had explained to you how Kiri was more in tune with Eywa than anybody he’s come across in his time on Pandora. Reya didn’t even believe you as you signed it to her across the water, but sure enough Kiri was off and riding earning an impressed nod from Reya and a shocked looked from Ao’nung. Even he had to give the forest girl some credit.
Frowning, Neteyam tried diving again. Following him effortlessly you swam leisurely behind him. After only a few minutes he needed to go back up for air. When you resurfaced you saw the frustration evident on his face.
“I’m not getting it.” He continued to frown looking to you for more guidance.
Swimming over to him you realized you’d have to do what your own teachers did to help you. Show him, “I’m going to touch you, okay?” You phrased it as more of a request than a question hoping it didn’t seem too odd.
He nodded, frown letting up a bit.
Gently, you placed your hand on his abdomen. Feeling him react you quickly spoke, “Breathe from here Neteyam. Not your lungs. Close your eyes.” Without releasing your hand, he listened to your instruction closing his eyes.
“Good.” Offering gentle praise you continued, “Slow your heart and take a long slow breath. Focus on keeping your heart slow and steady, like the waves of the ocean.”
Snapping his eyes open you brought your hand back to yourself. You didn’t see the small frown that reformed as you dove back down, wanting him to follow you. You were amazed what simple instruction did for him. He was able to stay down with you for double the time than he had previously.
“Very good Neteyam!” You cheered as the two of you met back at the surface.
Offering you a small smile he thanked you, “Couldn’t have done it without you, Y/N.”
“Plenty of great teachers here. Let’s go eat and come back after. Looks like the everybody else is.” You hadn’t realized the other group had already left to eat instead caught up in teaching Neteyam. It was far too easy to get distracted by him.
You led him to where all the other Sully kids and your best friend were. Leaning down you whispered into her ear letting her know you were going to the creek.
The creek was a spot deeper within the trees that you and Reya had found when you were eight years old. You never dared to mention it to anybody, not wanting it to get back to your mother. You knew being within the forest would bother her. Anything Omatikaya seemed to bother her.
Reya smiled nodding letting you know when to be back by. You did have to keep teaching after all. Quietly disappearing from the group, you hustled over to the edge of the village slipping into the dense foliage that met the water.
Only one of the Sully’s seemed interested in where you were going. Neteyam needed to know where you were off to and let his curiosity get the better of him as he got Reya’s attention. He asked where you were off too which Reya happily told him just where you were going to him.
You sat down by the creek that you and Reya found so long ago. As you got older the two of you visited less and less. You ended up going out to the spot on your own instead finding solace being surrounded by the jungle.
Picking a few fruits along the way you often wondered out here when you were a tad overwhelmed. And right now? You were terribly overwhelmed. You wanted to ask a million questions all at once, but you didn’t want to come off as desperate. It was embarrassing you had no knowledge of that side of you.
Dipping your toes in the water you slowly ate the fruit you managed to find on the path back to your spot. Smiling at all the animals just in the stream you dipped some of the fleshy fruit down into it for some of the fish to enjoy. You watched patiently as a little guy came up to nibble on it.
Entranced on the little guy you hadn’t heard the blue Na’vi boy come up from behind you. Trying not to frighten you too badly Neteyam let out a gentle cough. However, his attempt was futile as you continued to feed the small fish in the creek. So, he opted to place a hand on your shoulder.
Feeling the unexpected contact, you jumped right up from your spot shoving whoever approached you away as best as you could. It didn’t work as whomever was standing there was a lot stronger than you and you ended up launching yourself backwards right into the creek. Luckily it was shallow, your bottom half and hair were the only casualties to the water.
“Oh shit, are you okay?” He pulled you up at your waist with ease looking you over making sure you didn’t accidentally hurt yourself.
“Neteyam!” You flushed feeling a rush of horror come over you at what just occurred. Real smooth, “What are you doing here?”
He shrugged trying to play it off coolly, “Tsireya said you came out to the creek to relax. Wanted to make sure you were okay?” It came out more as a question than a statement. He too felt a rush of slight embarrassment at his own actions. He hardly knew you, but here he was standing in front of you. Oddly drawn to you.
“Oh yeah, yeah, I’m fine. You found me with just a general direction?” Smiling you wrung your hair out. Your hair didn’t take to kindly to the fresh water of the creek over the salty water of the ocean.
Neteyam laughed. You really were clueless when it came to the ways of the Omatikaya. Not that he was annoyed by it in the slighted. But rather he found it adorable. Neteyam wanted to return the favor and teach her the ways of his people. That is if you wanted.
“We learn to track from a very young age. A survival skill for the Omatikaya.”
You hummed sitting back down in your spot patting the sand next to you, “Right. Forest boy.” You smiled to him once he sat next to you.
“That’s right water girl.”
You returned his laugh finding comfort in his presence, “I do wish I knew more about the forest.” You whispered
“It’s never too late to learn. Look at us in the water.”
You nodded unsure of what to say. Sure, he was right but who would teach you? Sighing you pulled your knees to your chest hugging them tightly.
“What’s wrong?”
“Who would even teach me Neteyam? And my mother…” You trailed off shuddering at the thought, “I don’t even know what she would say.” You admitted to him.
“I will teach you.” He said so matter of factly like it wasn’t even up for discussion.
“You would?”
“Yes Y/N. You teach me the ways of the Metkayina, and I’ll teach you the ways of the Omatikaya.”
“You’re not obligated Neteyam. Just because I’m helping doesn’t mean you have to.”
He shrugged, “What if I want to?”
“You really want to?”
He smiled, “Is it so surprising I’d want to spend time with you Y/N?” He asked while turning himself towards you.
“Well no.” You felt that familiar blush begin to creep back up. One that only seemed reserved for Neteyam lately.
“You know, my sister was right.”
Scrunching your eyebrows trying to think what Kiri and Tuk had mentioned to the both of you, “What about?”
“That you’re pretty.” He grinned waiting for your reaction.
A stupid blush that spread across your entire upper half is what happened, “What?” You weren’t sure if you were hearing things or what.
“Even more than pretty. Stunning.”
“Oh.” You looked away from him not really believing what he was saying.
“Can you look at me with those beautiful eyes Y/N?”
Was he trying to kill you? It felt like he was trying to make you combust on the spot. Obliging his wishes, you peaked over to him seeing his face laced with a little smirk, “Hi.” Your brain seemed at a loss for words. Overloaded by the new Omatikayan family and now this?
Grinning from ear to ear he took your hand fully in his. Relishing in the physical contact between the two of you, “Hi pretty girl.”

My taglist is wack ass hell so I won't be doing taglist requests anymore. It takes me about half an hour to update the taglist as well, so it's more time consuming then I originally thought.
Spoilers for Avatar: The Way of Water A whole ass lot.
Special dt: @k1rislov3r
This is mainly a filler chapter so apologies if it's a bit dry, I'm trying to go into as much detail with the reader and her life so that the plot makes more sense. Also, I FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO MY CLASSES SO I CAN FOLLOW MY POSTING SCHEDULE, YAYYYY!!!! Thank you guys for your patience, I really appreciate it.
I did delete the original chapter for this so the sneak peek I posted was for the old chapter, this is the final cut for the chapter so it's completely different than what I posted. The reason why It took so long for me to post today was because I was editing mama Neytiri *smirking intensely*. Also, my brain is still fried, and I start more classes tomorrow so....I'm crying internally.
Tumblr media
You hadn't gone to sleep until an hour before sunrise, so you were exhausted to say the least. Jake was okay with you sleeping in some more for rest, but Neytiri countered, you needed to do your chores and you had said the night before you would watch Tuk. Kiri was going to assist Ronal and Neytiri in Tsahik-training and the brothers were joining a hunt with Aonung and Rotxo earlier in the morning.
Neytiri was upset with your reckless decision to stay up so late but she had promised Kiri would be done by lunch so you could take a nap. You had been struggling with nightmares, you had no idea what they meant, and you refused to talk about them. Even Kiri was clueless to your nightmares.
Kiri didn't think you'd hide anything from her, as you both promised to always share everything, and it was very difficult to hide anything from each other. You held your end of the promise... somewhat, you didn't want to worry her or anyone, so you hid it.
You couldn't even turn to Eywa for help, as you couldn't even properly connect to the tree. Mo'at thought it was a sign from Eywa for some greater purpose for you in life, but Norm thought it was something to do with the malfunctioning of your Neural Queue. He explained that the Avatar's body is not as fully functioning as a Na'vi body at times, and you could've unluckily gotten some sort of mutant gene from the human DNA that didn't allow your Neural Queue to work the same as others. It was odd though, you had no issue connecting to animals, just connecting to any trees related to Eywa.
You had tried before, the farthest you had gotten to connecting to Eywa was a white room of sorts. Nothing but you, the brightness of the white around you, and the echos of your voice begging for someone to respond.
That was the day the nightmares had begun, depicting war and violence, filling you with nothing but anger and hatred towards the sky people. On occasions even towards Jake, who you had lashed out at saying to him he was nothing but ' a disgusting alien bringing violence and war wherever he went.' Of course, you apologized and got heavily grounded afterwards, but Neytiri was beginning to worry that the lack of connection you had with Eywa was starting to affect you.
You tried not to let it affect you too much, you tried not to stress over things way beyond your control.
As of now you had your head rested in your hands, sitting crisscross with your elbow resting on your knee. Tuk was playing in the water, looking at surrounding coral and observing the fish.
You tail wagged a bit, moving lazily over the rock you were sitting on. You hear footsteps next to you, several people calling out your name.
" (y/n)!!" Lo'ak was the first to make his way to you, Tuk turning to him with." Hi Lo'ak!" She smiled before a yellow-ish green fish caught her attention; she immediately went back to observing the waters.
" Where's Neteyam?" You asked, your ears perked up at his presence, watching as he plopped himself next to you. He pointed towards the beach." He, Rotxo, and Aonung were right behind me, I don't know where they went though. Don't really care either." He shrugged, placing his feet in the water.
"Oh." You yawned, you were trying your best to stay awake but you knew you'd pass out soon." Hey, do you mind watching Tuk for a little bit?" You asked Lo'ak and he gave you a side eye. He wasn't happy about it but he knew something was bothering you and keeping you up so of course he wasn't going to be apathic towards you and keep you from sleep.
" Yeah sure, be here before dinner though. Mom will be upset if you're not back by then." You nodded and stood up, stretching your body from being in the same position for almost half an hour.
Normally your napping routine included flying (y/i/n) to a random and secluded area and napping together until it was time to head back. That or you let her fly freely through the air as you napped on her back.
This time you wanted to be alone, you currently didn't want to be around anyone or anything. You just wanted to lie down someplace and just sleep. Hopefully dreamless.
You made your way into the woods, not bothering to really watch where you're going, just trying to stay on your feet. You wanted to lay yourself on the ground floor of Pandora and just listen to the heartbeat that echoed from within the empty-feeling heart of Eywa. Your true mother, you may not be able to connect to her with your braid, but you didn't need to.
You could hear her silent comforting words within the wind, whispering in your ear words of encouragement that had never left your parents lips. Your feet carried you across the Earthy flooring of the walkway towards the denser part of the forest. The mother trees, the children, all of their silent voices being carried by the cool breeze.
The sound of the ocean's waves hitting the beach slowly vanished as your ears focused on listening to the birds and rustling of the trees. The longer you listened the more you tried to think of it as the Jungle's trees rustling or the animals singing.
You missed your home, and you will miss it as long as you remained on this planet. You were slowly falling into a depression, missing your home, your people... your family. It wasn't the type of sadness to make you cry, but the sadness that put a hole in your chest and made you feel empty. The Jungle was a part of you, and you missed it terribly.
You laid down on a patch of grass, running your hand over the blades of grass. Feeling the edges of the plant tickle your palm and the tips of your fingers. A comforting warmth drifted over you, the wind dying down as you closed your eyes and listened to the breath of the planet. You slowly began to drift, finally being able to rest.
Red. Orange. Yellow. Fire.
Surrounding you, ingulfing you but it didn't burn. It was like the rage of the flames understood you and you understood it. War almost feeling natural and like your second nature. You felt nothing as you cut through the humans like their life meant nothing to you.
It didn't, you could care less about these murderous and destructive aliens from afar. You wanted them dead, you wanted all of them to disappear. You weren't just angry, or rageful, you were vengeful. You were going to give them what they had given you, you were going to make them feel how you felt as you watched your friends and loved ones die for a fight that would never have happened if it weren't for them.
If it weren't for Jake Sully, HE started this, HE is the reason you are all on the run. Why didn't he just kill them all, why did he let them go back home in one piece. You would've shredded them until they weren't even recognizable, showed them to Eywa, your beloved mother that you would protect her at all costs.
These weren't your thoughts; you would never think this way of your father. What was this dream, who was this unrecognizable being?
You jolted awake, beads of sweat running down your face and tears sprung to your eyes. You hated these feelings, they were so foreign like they weren't even yours, but in a way comforting. You wanted to deny them but, on some level, you knew that you agreed with them.
You stood up and headed your way to a small stream nearby. You splashed water onto your face, wiping the tears from your eyes and staring at your reflection in the water.
You stood up, looking around realizing how late it was. It was way past Eclipse. You ran hand through your hair and drew a breath preparing to be grounded again. This was what? Your third or fourth time breaking a rule or causing trouble. Honestly you didn't care, at this point it'll happen at least every week.
You heard footsteps approaching you and you spun around on your feet in alert. Aonung appeared, he blinked a bit in surprise and then grinned." You have some awesome hearing, I thought I was being sneaky."
You rolled your eyes." You stomp, there's no way you could survive in the woods with those." You pointed at his feet, and he grumbled under his breath." My feet are not that big." He protested, placing a hand on his hip, his ears back in annoyance.
A small silence broke out, and you tried your best to keep your normal aggravating smirk placed on your lips. Aonung could see past it though, he paid enough attention to tell that you were not doing so well. He didn't watch you or anything, he was just very aware and constantly read people. Maybe at times he would watch you with someone and pick up on your mannerisms more than he would with anyone else, but so what you were his friend.
Well...friends a stretch still.
" What's wrong?" He asked, he might not be the best at comforting, but he was willing to try. You brushed him off." Your presence always seems to dampen my mood, have you not noticed?" You teased but he didn't return your teasing.
" I'm serious, whatever's bothering you, you can tell me." Aonung placed himself in front of you and placed a kind hand on your shoulder. Your shoulders tensed and your jaw tightened, the smirk falling off your face for a split second.
" Now what's got you all tinder hearted your big teddy bear!" You pinched the side of his ribs lightly and he instinctively pulled away." What? What is a t-eddy barer??" You slapped a hand over your mouth giggling at his terrible English." Did you just insult me? It is one of those human insults, isn't it?"
Your worries and bad dreams disappeared instantly, Aonung unintentionally brightened your day-or rather night. Speaking of night, you needed to hurry and get back to your families Marui. You looked towards the path that led you back to the beach.
" Don't worry, it's not as late as it seems, just after dinner. Lo'ak and I covered for you so you're fine." He gave you his charming smile, the calmest you've ever seen him be. You grinned, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and dragging him closer to you." You know...I kinda like you a bit now."
" Just a bit?" He teased and he placed a hand on your other shoulder. You put your other hand up and put your pointer finger and thumb almost touching." Just a smidge."
" So does that mean I've finally won you over?" He asked, his tone was light and teasing but he was asking an actual question he's been dying to bring up." Won me over? Hell no!" You shook your head." I'm not gonna be friends with you that easily, you have to do something biiiig." You exaggerated and he rolled his eyes, he should've known he wasn't going to get a real answer out of you.

Maybe Tonowari and Ronal adopting Spider modern/human au hc?
Okay, I wrote a little bit and then I also but some headcanons and stuff at the bottom :) lemme know if you want to hear more.
Spider wasn’t a pessimist, he was a realist. He didn’t think of the worst, he just knew that after so long, nothing good would be coming his way. Ten different foster homes in half as many years. He was fourteen and alone.
Norm, his social worker and only actual friend, was overworked and underpaid. He had a lot to deal with and Spider was just a box to check off of his To Do List. He was a good guy and he always made sure Spider was somewhere safe, but as the boy had gotten older, he’d also lost hope alongside Spider. Neither of them thought he’d get adopted. He had two years until he’d be old enough to emancipate himself and Norm knew he was just biding him time.
So, it was weird that he seemed excited about his next placement. Spider had been stuck in a group home for two weeks after his last foster family— the Sully’s —had to suddenly move, leaving the teen behind. They’d been plenty apologetic and he hadn’t even been with them for a full year, so it shouldn’t have hurt as much as it did. He shouldn’t have been so stupid as to think they’d want to take him with.
Maybe the enthusiasm was Norm trying to cheer his charge up after a shitty month. Maybe he’d finally cracked and was slowly turning into the Joker or Green Goblin or something. He wouldn’t mind a Hulked-out version of his social worker. It’d probably be funny to watch.
They suburb they pulled into was nice. They’d driven further south, towards the state’s coast. It was only three hours away, but it felt like a entirely different world. Ignoring the tourist-traps littering main street and the absurd amount of bikes, it looked peaceful and bright. Norm explained that his newest foster parents ran a fishery and a charter company. Spider didn’t think it was a good fit. He didn’t even know how to swim.
When they stopped in front of the large house in the center of the block, a pair of tall adults were already waiting, sat on the porch in a matching set of white rocking chairs. It was like something out of a TV show, too perfect. The overturned bike on the front lawn helped bring him back to reality. His skateboard was in the trunk of the car, along with his suitcase and a duffel bag of clothes. Lo’ak had insisted that he keep half of the decor from their shared room, even though a lot of it had already been there when he’d arrived.
“How many kids did you say they had?” He asked as Norm put the car in park.
“Two. Aounung and Tsireya. I think he’s sixteen and she’s . . . fifteen? Maybe your age, I can’t remember.”
Neteyam had been sixteen. He wasn’t much of a big brother when it came to Spider, but it wasn’t like he was Spider’s actual younger brother. The thought made his throat feel tight. He opened the car door, swallowing down saliva. First impressions were important and he was about to make a lot of them. New house, new school, same old Spider.
Spider wears shoes a size too big, a habit from childhood. He used to grow too fast as a kid and even though he'd stopped at 5"7, he bought clothes and shoes big just in case.
When he first gets settled, he's kind of wary of the other kids in the house. (No Baby in this AU, because babies are a handful and so are Spiders). I think Tsireya would definitely take him under her wing and try to help him get comfortable and stuff. Set up his room, make sure he's okay with the food and knows where everything is. Despite being a year younger, she's definitely a Big Sister when it come to him.
Aounung kind of ignores him at first, busy with school and learning about his parent's business, intending to take over at some point. But, I think if Spider was getting bullied or something, he'd definitely go into Big Brother mode and that'd kind of spark an interest/empathy.
With the Parents, I think Tonowari would probably be busy working a lot of the time, but he'd make an effort to be there for dinner every night and make sure to check in with each kid before bed. Definitely a gentle giant. I can see Spider being intimidated at first, with the tattoos and Tonowari's sheer size, not to mention he's probably ripped after spending most of his life fishing and swimming. I think the turning point for Spider would be Tonowari driving him to get new shoes or for a doctor's appointment or something one weekend and putting on, like, ABBA or Dolly Parton or something in the car and singing along. He doesn't even need to actually like that type of music, but it's disarming and gets a laugh from Spider. (Also, Tonowari trying to squeeze into a waiting room chair like he isn't 6"7 and shredded).
With Ronal, I can see Spider watching her do one of the other kid's hair and her offering to do his. (In Modern AU's, I think Spider would have long, curly hair like Olan Prenatt from Mid-90s (the guy who played Fuck-Shit). Except, he has no clue how to keep his hair from being a frizzy mess, so he just pulls it back most of the time. And he hesitates, remembering a foster mother once cutting his hair off while he was sleeping (which might have led to him growing it out in the first place) and then deciding to trust her to take care of it, of him.
Spider tries to run away a few months after arriving. He failed a test and got into a fight after school and he's sure he's about to be sent away. So, he decided to leave first. Maybe, it would be easier that way. Hurt less. (It doesn't.)
Aounung ends up finding him crying on the beach at like midnight and flat-out carries him home, refusing to let him down. Because, they were scared, dammit.
This is all I have so far for a modern AU, but lmk if you want to hear more! Also, guess who just started a Medical Assistant program online? ME. If anyone is in the medical field and has any tips, I'd greatly appreciate it!

hi boo, know this trend on tiktok, can you write something like that where sully!reader likes aonung and they’ve been spending time together recently but he knowingly kisses another girl in the circle? so neteyam being the oldest comforts the reader? sucker for older brother nete and player aonung
Betrayed
pairing: Sully!reader x Aonung
summary: You and Aonung have slowly become something more than friends but one night changes everything.
warnings: angst, heartbreak.
A/N: i hope you like this!! this is a little bad cause i haven’t wrote in like forever :)
Tumblr media
“ I made you something and I really hope you like it. " Aonung spoke a smile on his face as he held out a bracelet to you.
“ It is so pretty! I love it. " I said, “ Will you put it on me? " I asked, he nodded his head quickly.
“ You’re so pretty. " He whispered, my head shot up at his words, my face turning slightly purple.
“ I enjoy being with you, ever since we moved here I thought things would go wrong but you’ve made everything better. " I spoke, looking into his eyes.
“ I’m glad you and your family stayed with us, I don’t know what I would’ve don’t if I never met you. " Aonung spoke, he was slowly leaning in but then the voice of Lo’ak immediately pulled us apart.
**
You all sat in a circle playing games and laughing, the fire illuminating on everyone’s face.
“ Okay, Aonung- Truth or dare? " Lo’ak questioned, everyone turned their heads towards Aonung.
“ Dare. " He spoke, “ I dare you to kiss the prettiest girl in the circle. " Lo’ak smirked, Aonung turned his head towards me and then looked away towards Kyna.
My heart dropped, he wasn’t going to kiss me, he was going to kiss her. Just a few hours earlier he was acting as if I was the only girl on pandora and now??He was acting like a completely different person
Aonung and I had been spending weeks together, getting to both know eachother a lot better but now here he is going to kiss another girl that isn’t me.
My lips went into a thin line as he kissed her, rolling my eyes and turning my head to the side- making direct eye contact with my older brother, Neteyam.
His eyes softened as I told him days before about Aonung and I and my crush on the boy. He warned me about him and I should’ve listened.
I really thought he liked me just as much as I liked him.
After the kiss I turned my head back and saw that Kyna turned slightly purple and Aonung was smirking.
“ It’s getting late, I think I’m going to head to bed. ” I spoke quietly, trying to compose myself and not make a fool of myself by crying in front of all my friends.
As I turned around tears glossed into my eyes, Neteyam stood up as well following me back into our Marui, luckily nobody was in there and as soon as I walked in I fell onto my knees.
Tears soon began falling down my cheeks as I felt arms wrap around me.
“ He-he said he cared about me, and he made me a bracelet. " I cried, choked sobs escaping my mouth.
Neteyam said nothing as he let me cry, he really didn’t wanna say I told you so, so he stayed silent, “ I hate him, I hate him so much, how could he do this? "
“ I really liked him Neteyam. " I spoke, looking up at Neteyam. “ I know sister, I know, but if he’s going to act this way- so childish, he doesn’t deserve you. " Neteyam spoke.
“ You have a kind heart, Aonung is a bitch and he doesn’t know what he’s missing. ”
You smiled at your older brothers words, whenever you were sad you knew Neteyam would always be there for you.

Aonung boyfriend headcannons
Warnings: mentions of bullying, fluff
- when you first met, he definitely playfully bullied you. Always bullying you more then the others, but never enough to make you cry. Though he did think you looked cute when you cried, he didn’t wanna be that mean to you.
- he’s very childish when he bullies, “look at the five fingered freak!” But he hates it when his friends start joining him. He’ll immediately stop and move on to the next sully sibling when his friends start joining. It’s only ok for him to do, and nobody else
- of course you took notice of it, it confused you at first. But you quickly picked up on how when he would help you practice he’d always ask you to stay a little longer. Moving his hands a little too low, or under the strap that’s holding up your loincloth.
- Definitely gets a little too close during lessons, holding your hips in place while your trying to mount your ilu. “Yeah just like that y/n” his grip tightening as you let out a hitched breath.
- Probably talks to his friends a little too much. They were also starting to get suspicious, since he would talk about you like your some angel ascended from heaven, who came down to see him.
- he definitely accidentally confessed to you. You two were going back and forth with throwing insults at each-other. “Well I’m never bothering you Aonung so just leave me alone!” You shot, annoyed by his usual tactics. “Well maybe I wanna be around you!”. Leaving his mouth agap, surprised by his own words.
- after that he’ll always be following you around, helping you with your daily tasks. Always making sure you have enough water, because it’s so hot outside. You hate it sometimes, but he’s so cute you can’t stay mad at him.
- He’s a big cuddler, he’ll cuddle anywhere at anytime. He doesn’t care about the stares, or how hot it is outside. He loves laying in the sun with you, even just holding your hand while your both spread on the burning sand is enough for him.

So it seems you guys rlly just wanted NSFW
Anyways mature audiences
And its like my first real post and english isent my first language but id like feedback if y have any
Only making sfw for the children bc im uncomfy making nsfw with them
{Characters: tonowari, neyteyam, jake sully, aoung, } NOT PROF READ. NSFW
Tumblr media
Tonowari
Tonowari is amazing when it comes to eating you out (due to metikayans being used to be wet🤭) he hits everyspot and it ironically is feeling like he is sending waves of pleaseure through your body,
He is definitely a boobs man dosent matter size or how it looks small or bih he loves boobs he loves everything about boobs he loves grabbing them during sx, and just telling you how pretty they are
Tonowari has a major praise kink, dont deny it
He is an aftercare king. even after fucking you senseless, he will make sure to get you cleaned up and make sure you feel well looked after. every fucking session ends with you in his arms while he traces circles into your skin and plants kisses into the curve of your neck.
His favorite time of day is eclipse so he can hold you, between his legs in his large arms around your waist his excuse being "keeping you warm" . Whilst he admires you and his former bite marks
Tumblr media
Jake sully
He can’t pick a favorite position, he loves every single inch of your body and will take literally any chance he gets to see you writhing in pleasure
Jake is definitely cocky possesive during sx kinda acting like he owns you and he also enjoys getting and giving nicknames, such as tiyawn narlo and mowan (meaning love , beautiful , pleasing)
he’ll tease you a lot about your size difference, it’s honestly a regular thing with Jake. he’s just really cocky, but i understand. imagen how tiring it gets when you’re lugging that big ass thing between your legs 24/7.
Jake absolutely ADORES how shy you are. How you accept his advances but all blushy and nervous. How you squirm under his intense stares is something he cannot get enough of.
Tumblr media
Neteyam (sfw)
When neteyam was younger he was the guy to tell people he dosent want a girlfriend because he thought they had cooties, but now it seems he cant let his eyes go of you.
He is a sucker for physical touch (wonder why jake) hugging and holding hands just being near you in general can makes his day completely,
You and. neyteyam take rides on his ikran at night for fun. While your parents are asleep, and usually it ends up in cuddles and kisses by your secret spot.
Trainning sessions with neyteyam atleast twice a week mostly hunting. You guys always adventure out when your supposed to be hunting and ussually, you dont get caught.
When neteyam's siblings found out you were given couple nicknames like tswake(sun) and the oare(moon) mostly tuk was the one making the names. You thought it was cute
Tumblr media
Aoung
Aoung has mostly a boy friendgroup so when you joined there were alot of rumors of you two dating. Although it was true you two tried to deny it because aoung wanted to.
Since you and aoung lived close when you were younger you would often play together by the shore and he would shove you into the water ending in a splash fight. Its still somthing you do still sometimes.
Aoung hated getting hair in his face but he couldent braid properly since he was active alot swimming hunting climbing. So occasionally he would ask you to braid his hair.
Forehead kisses. Lots and lots of forehead kisses due to the height difference aoung usually kisses your forehead. He does it alot everywhere anytime.
