there needs to be a chart somewhere for people like me who have a lot of special interests, which lists the starting costs for every type of hobby, and then tells you exactly why it would be a bad idea for you to start that hobby.

I just think it would help me if every time I got the sudden, sharp desire to start something new, I could go to a website that says something like, "really? you think you can afford a kiln? you think you can make room for a kiln? think again! go use up all that yarn you bought two years ago, or the seed beads, or the darkroom chemicals, and then we can talk."

I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (apart from I skipped some overly long action sequences) and I am not sure so can someone tell me whether or not Tony Stark was the baddy in that film? Because about halfway through I was sure he was but then it was maybe just an evil robot after all and I am confused because either this film was surprisingly subversive or it was about robots hitting each other.

i go back and forth a lot on my interpretations of ats s5, ie. what parts of spike are 'in character' or not, but the one thing that stays constant is my belief that spike and angel fucking would have fixed most of this.

#not that it would have fixed their problems i just mean it would introduce new problems that i would find entertaining as a viewer #anyways i don't like saying a character would NOT say/do that but sometimes i'm not sure if he (spike) SHOULD do that #in terms of showing off the more interesting parts of a character while also carving out a unique arc/dynamic for him on a new tv show #ats rw #i think what's misunderstood about spike is that he's NOT a solo sigma male lone vigilante bad boy action hero #like i think angel is actually the one who has a history of isolating himself #but spike is your friend who always has to be in a relationship (which i think btvs got correct with harmony) #idk. i think oz has that line in btvs where he's like 'i gotta go do that guy thing where i isolate myself now' #and i think that gets transposed onto spike when he goes on the 'guy show' doing 'guy things' #and then kinda blended up with the tension that many of the guys on ats experience between #being a tough guy capable of doing things on his own versus the desire to belong in a crew #but like. that's not a 'guy' thing that applies to all men. that's a thing that certain individuals experience. and spike is not one of the #like i don't think spike cares about how he fits in with society or the collective but i think he DOES care about how individuals #he's close to perceive him #anyways. today on 'reading too much into a tv show that stopped airing 20 years ago' #i gotta make a separate post about this #buffyposting

Just relistened to Jacobi's speech about progress and again contemplating my headcanon that Goddard near singlehandedly pulled the Wolf 359 universe off a climate cliff a few decades earlier than we're hitting ours and that's why so many self-described idealists (especially older members of the cast) are willing to work with them and delude themselves about the collateral damage.

So about Skitch and Wanda having separate rooms, I’ve met a couple that had separate rooms but also a room together. Like one was used there’s for more crafting stuff and the the other used theirs for like a mini-library. Then they had their shared room. It was a pretty cool set up.

I'll reiterate that Wanda and Skitch's room serve as their own spaces, with their own collections and aesthetics furnished separately (hence why Skitch's bedroom has a larger and better TV for playing console games and why Wanda's bedroom has a softer mattress and tons more blankets because the layering makes her more comfortable, just to give one example).

I will say that their shared bedroom is the least used out of the three. Conceptually, yes, it's the happy medium that they both decorated and can use by default at the end of the day and it for sure has its uses...

In reality, Wanda and Skitch use each other's rooms a lot more related to the intention for their day/night.

The shared master bedroom is deadass just the default. It's like two and a half steps away from being used as a guest bedroom 😂

there's not much you can do as a viewer.... support the strike vocally/on social media, if there's a local picketing demonstration you can join... but really this is going to be a fight between the unions and the studios with solidarity coming from other hollywood groups, "don't cross the picket line" won't apply to the consumer the way other labor strikes do in terms of where you do/don't put your money.

#now is a good time to educate yourself on labor rights in the US / collective action in general #but it's not really a matter of Don't Watch TV or Don't Watch Movies #just be vocal where you can learn more and make noise when it's relevant!
