Come Undone (Ethan x Reader)

Summary: You attend Coachella with the twins and Cameron. It doesn’t go the way you had expected it to. Word Count: 3,612 Warnings: None. A/N: Let’s all drink (OJ of course) to Coachella and for 2 more days of delicious looking outfits. Also, I had such a hard time focusing on writing this. So many things were distracting me so I hope this turned out good. x (Title from the song Wolfie by Golden Features.)

You groaned loudly as you hopped out of the car, pushing past Ethan to get out; desperate to stretch your legs. Ethan mumbled incoherently, not too happy with being woken up from his nap and Grayson jumped out right after you, raising his arms high up in the air and letting out a moan. You couldn’t help but laugh, walking around the car to where Cameron had popped the trunk open, already lugging her bag out.

The ride to Palm Springs hadn’t been all too painful, but Cam had insisted on listening to Mike Posner while Grayson argued over wanting to listen to some “hype music” as he’d so nicely put it. They’d fought over the AUX cord for thirty whole minutes and you’d already developed a headache by the time you were out on the road; Ethan curled right beside you as he napped through the commotion.

But as you lugged your baggage up the driveway to the apartment complex that you’d rented out for the weekend, you thought that it was definitely worth it. It was located high up by the hills, a large pool in the back with the stunning view of Palm Springs. and the apartment was spacey too, three rooms with a living area and a kitchen that the twins had made sure was stocked with fruits and waterbottles. You and Cam claimed the double room, mostly because it was incredibly large and you needed the space, while the twins had their own seperate rooms.

“Hey, you excited for the festival?” Ethan asked as he stepped into the room, eyes locking on you. You looked up from where you were sat on your bed, trying to untangle your jewelry without breaking the anything, shooting a smile towards his direction.

Ethan walked over to the bed, taking his place on your bed in front of you and shucking you a cold water bottle. You gasped as it landed on your arm, smearing condensed water on your skin.

“Dick,” You swore with no real heat behind it, giggling when Ethan narrowed his eyes at you. “Why aren’t you getting ready? You’ve been babbling about your outfit for weeks now and I have very high expectations.”

He had refused to tell you what he was wearing, wanting it to be a surprise. So he had kept it from you for more than two weeks now, planning what to wear along with Grayson. You were incredibly curious, but you had done enough begging and they hadn’t folded so you let it go, settling for waiting.

“As you should. I’m gonna look great.” He said and wiggled his thick eyebrows, making you snort. “Gray hogged the shower so I’m just waiting for him.”

You nodded in understanding, because Cameron had gone and dibsed the second shower. But it was fine though, because you had to assemble your outfit; you wanted to look your best.

The thoughts halted as you looked up, catching Ethan unscrewing the cork of his bottle before taking a long swig of his water. Your eyes drifted to his thick throat as it bobbed with every swallow and suddenly you couldn’t tear your eyes away, your mind entering dangerous territory.

Your cheeks grew hot as Ethan glanced over at you, catching you staring at him. He knew exactly what he was doing and it quite frankly pissed you off. You both had a strange friendship and it had been weird ever since the start. The twins and you had met a few years ago and you’d hit it off, quickly becoming inseparable as you spent day after day together. But something had shifted between you and Ethan as you hit puberty, this weird sexual tension appearing from thin air and suffocating the both of you until it couldn’t be ignored. Neither of you had acted on it though, too afraid to ruin a good friendship, but it was written all over your faces.

It was like a small, silent agreement between you two, that you remained single and unavailable, only having eyes for each other. You’d often share beds and intimate cuddles, but nothing had ever escalated past that, which frustrated you. Because it felt like a game where you both would hold off until one of you cracked, and you didn’t want to be the one to crack first. You refused to.

You gathered your things on the bed, pushing them to the side before getting off the bed, fully aware of Ethan following you with his eyes.

“Are you wearing this?” He asked curiously, reaching for your ripped denim shorts on the bed. There was an undertone of something in his voice and it made your fingers tingle.

You nodded with a small sigh, swatting his hands when he touched the fabric. He pouted and held his hands to his chest.

“Rude.” He said curtly and you smiled.

“You like it.” You answered.

“I really do.”

You paused, narrowing your eyes at him and he shot you a smile. In that moment, Cameron came back with a robe tied to her body and her hair dripping. You thanked the lucky stars that she was back, because you felt your resolve breaking just by that small smile Ethan had given you. Now you actually had an excuse to get away from him for a while.

Two hours later and you had just finished you make-up, opting for something glammy and cute with rhinestones beneath your eyes. Cameron had laughed at how basic this all felt, but you had forced her to at least look a little bit festival ready. The best thing you could force her to wear was Grayson’s bandana tied around her neck, but she looked like a queen either way. You had gone all out though, with the ripped denim shorts, a cropped tanktop and a plaid shirt tied around your waist.

A knock sounded through the closed door and the both of you turned your heads just in time for the twins to come bursting through. Ethan was waving around the orange wristbands while Grayson was singing loudly, his phone in hand as he recorded your shocked faces.

“It’s Coach time!” Gray yelled, rushing toward you in a terrifying speed.

You squealed as you fell back on the carpet, screaming his name in shock as he cackled. He rolled off of you, glancing at his phone with a laugh, snapchat video he had recorded going on a loop on his phone. You slapped his arm, sitting up while touching your braids at either sides of your face that Cameron had done on you.

“Here, put this on.” Ethan said and thrusted a hand forward. You looked up and grabbed the wristband from him, pausing as you got a good look at him. The red plaid shirt he wore looked incredible on him, his arms on full display as he had cut the sleeves off. Your eyes drifted over to his ripped skinny jeans, hugging his thighs beautifully and the white sneakers to complete outfit. “What?”

“You look good.” You said sincerely, clipping on the wristband and pushing yourself up on your feet. Ethan did a sweep over your body and it took everything in you to not blush as his eyes fell on the small section of exposed skin by your bellybutton.

“So do you.” He grinned.

The festival was in full swing and wherever you went, people were taking pictures of each other. It was your first time at Coachella, but you knew that whatever happened tonight would be the best night of your life. The atmosphere was over the top and the people were incredibly happy. The twins were walking behind you and Cameron, who had your arms linked together as you watched different people with cool outfits passing by.

“Hey, we’re gonna head over to the H&M tent and see what’s going on over there.” Ethan touched your shoulder and you stopped walking.

“We’re gonna go get some nachos and then we’ll join you.” Cameron said and Gray nodded. “Come on, Y/N.”

You let her drag you off, laughing as she sped up her pace to get to the truck not too far from where you had been standing. You stood in line behind a group of rowdy guys, waiting for your turn while the sun beat down on you.

It happened so fast, one minute you had been minding your own business and the next, one of the guys in front of you had been pushed into you. You stumbled with a sharp gasp, thinking that you were gonna fall but you got caught at the last second. The guy who had bumped into you winced as he grabbed your arms, smiling apologetically.

“I’m so sorry, my friends are being complete idiots.” He laughed nervously, glancing at his friends behind him who were snickering childishly.

You smiled at him, “It’s fine.” A pause. “Maybe you should let go of my arms?”

The guy looked at his hands, eyes widening in realization as he let go of your arms as if they had burnt him. He laughed and you couldn��t help but think of how cute this guy was. He had deep dimples on either side of his cheeks when he smiled, sharp white teeth, brown eyes and jetblack hair. He looked really good.

“Sorry.” He apologized, bringing a hand up to rub at his neck. “So are you here with friends?”

You glanced at Cameron who was watching the interaction between you in silence, looking like the cat got the cream. You refrained from rolling your eyes at her smug smile, gesturing with your hands toward her.

“I’m here with my friend, Cameron.” You smiled at him. “I’m Y/N.”

The guy nodded with a smile toward Cameron in greeting before sticking a hand out so she could shake it.

“I’m Jake.” He introduced himself and you took his hands when he held it out for you, shaking it. “Nice to meet you.”

“Next!” A voice yelled from behind Jake and he turned his head in confusion.

He gave you a small smile before ordering his own set of nachos, thanking the guy politely as he received his carton of food. Cameron walked up as he stepped to the side, ordering your food.

“I’ll see you around then?” Jake asked, taking a step backward towards where his friends were waiting, deep in conversation.

“Of course.” You waved at him, watching him disappear in sea of people.

As you turned to Cameron, she smirked at you behind her sunglasses, thrusting a carton of nachos toward you. You took it, rolling your eyes.

“What? He was cute, okay?” You turned to walk towards the H&M tent, feeling your stomach grumble as the smell of melted cheese and meat wafted in the air.

“Why didn’t you get his number?” Cam asked curiously, catching up to you.

“There’s an air of mystery to just leave it at see you around. If it’s meant to happen then we’ll meet again.” You said, knowing fully well that you were bullshitting.

And judging by Cameron’s look that she gave you, she felt the same. But you were thankful that she didn’t point it out, instead opting to change the subject and talking about how she wanted to test out that ferris wheel during the night just to see the view.

You flashed your VIP wristbands to the security outside the tents, walking inside when they gave you the go-ahead nod. There weren’t a lot of people inside, but just enough for it to feel kind of cramped, so you were thankful when you spotted the twins easily.

Cameron took the last spot on the two seated couch next to Gray, swatting his hand away when he reached for her carton of food. You laughed, walking over to Ethan and plopping down on his lap, sitting sideways so you could drape your legs over his.

“Hey, don’t touch my food.” You scolded him when he reached forward to pick at a chip. You held the carton protectively against your chest, pouting playfully at him.

Ethan laughed, placing one of his rough hands on your exposed thigh and squeezing it. Your breath caught in your throat and you refrained from widening your eyes, but Ethan smiled at you like he knew the effect he had on you.

You picked up a chip from your carton, leaning forward so you could feed him and he immediately complied, opening his mouth. He hummed as the taste hit his tongue, closing his eyes and your mouth popped open as you felt his tongue against your fingers. You quickly drew them back, trying to ignore the squeezing feeling in the pit of your stomach.

“When is Drake playing again?” You asked, trying to distract yourself from the weird situation going on.

Ethan smacked his lips and grinned at you, making you raise your eyebrows.

“In two hours.” He answered, thumb stroking the skin on your thigh absentmindedly.

Cameron leaned forward from where she was sitting in front of you, a small hint of something in her eyes.

“Maybe Jake will be there.” She said, trying to appear sly but you knew exactly what she was trying to do.

And it seemed to have worked when Ethan turned his head up to look at you, a wrinkle on his forehead as he frowned in confusion and annoyance.

“Who’s Jake?” He asked gruffly and you glanced at Cameron quickly, trying to show her how much you despised her slickness with just the glare you shot her.

“No one. Just a dude who bumped into me.” You answered, pinching a chip and popping it into your mouth just to have something to do.

“A really hot dude.” Cameron corrected you and Grayson snorted in disgust.

“Ew, don’t talk about boys, Cam. You’re still way too young.”

Cameron gasped and slapped his arm.

“I’m older than you, dick.” She exclaimed, the both of them laughing.

Your lips turned up at the bickering but it soon dropped when you turned your attention toward Ethan who was frowning, eyes on his hand that was still resting on your thigh.

“Want more?” You asked, all of a sudden feeling awkward as you offered your food to Ethan.

He always became this moody and annoyed whenever a guy approached you. It was cute at first, but it became annoying because it wasn’t like you acted out on it. But you’d never voice your annoyance because you knew you felt the same whenever some girl even looked his way.

“Nah, lost my appetite.” He answered and you rolled your eyes.

“Eth, we literally exchanged like four sentences and then he disappeared with his friends. This festival has thousands of people, I don’t think I’ll ever see him.”

Ethan didn’t say anything, but you saw how his shoulders relaxed a tad bit. And you knew you two were okay when he reached for your food.

It felt like you were dreaming when the great rapper took the stage, caught in the middle of the sea of people, dancing and yelling out the lyrics. The four of you danced until sweat was dripping from every body part and you were feeling better than ever. It might’ve had something to do with the one too many champagne flutes you’d had back at the H&M tent, but you didn’t care.

Grayson was snapchatting Drake, yelling out the lyrics to Hotline Bling and Cameron had disappeared with some guy she apparently recognized from college, telling you that she’d meet with you later. And Ethan? He was holding your hands, dancing goofily with you as you twirled and screaming out the words of the song.

It was when One Dance came on that he twirled you around, crossing your arms over your torso as he held onto your hands, snuggling his face against your neck. You closed your eyes, relishing in the feel of his body against yours as you both swayed to the beat of the music, dancing heavily as the people around you jumped and danced like nobody was watching. You placed your hands over Ethan’s, slipping your fingers between his thick ones so you could guide them over your hips and the exposed skin of your stomach, letting him feel you up as much as he’d like.

During the second chorus, you pulled back from him, feeling too warm to stay pressed up against him. And that’s when you felt a hand on your arm, making you turn around.

“Jake!” You exclaimed in surprise over the loud music and shouts around you.

Jake beamed at you, hugging you and you cringed as you felt his equally as sweaty body envelop yours. You pulled back, giving him a smile.

“I thought that I recognized you!” He leaned over to shout in your ear and you laughed.

You turned to introduce Jake to the boys but paused as you caught sight of Ethan’s back vanishing in the crowd. You turned to Gray who was standing beside a dancing Cameron, frowning before shrugging at you.

“Sorry, Jake. I have to go.” You apologized to him, not staying around to hear his answer before you turned to push yourself between people to get out of the sweaty throng of people.

You took a deep breath as you got out, looking around for the familiar red plaid shirt somewhere. Your stomach sank as you realized that you’d probably never find him, but you set off towards the direction of the tents, hoping that you’d see Ethan.

You wandered around, feeling angry at yourself and Ethan for playing this stupid game, and annoyed that you had to miss the rest of Drake’s performance just because of this one thing. Suddenly, you felt a hand wrap around your wrist, tugging you and you turned toward the person, prepared to scream. Your voice got caught in your throat as your eyes took in the wide back and the red plaid shirt.

“Ethan!” You sighed, trying to calm your racing heart as he dragged you along towards a secluded spot, near some tall hedges. “Wait, stop.”

You stumbled as he picked up the pace, trying to yank your arm away from his grip but he held on. As you reached the hedges, you relieved your arm from his grip, glaring at him.

“I said stop!” You said. “Where the hell did you go?”

Ethan looked over your face in silence, jaw clenching as he gritted his teeth.

“You’re such a child.” You snorted in disbelief.

You were confused, not really knowing what to do or how to react. Ethan wasn’t yours, and you weren’t his. Yet, you both acted like you belonged to each other and went mad whenever someone of the opposite gender approached one another. You were through with it.

“I don’t like seeing you with other guys, Y/N.” He said at last and your eyebrows shot up. “You’re mine-”

“Yours? I’m no one’s, Ethan. I’m my own person and you have no right to react like a child just because someone decided to be friendly.” You barked at him, knowing that you were probably being too harsh on him.

“Let me finish!” He yelled back, taking a step forward. “You’re mine, just as much as I am yours. I don’t want anyone else touching your back like that guy did and I don’t want any guy looking at you like he wants to get in your pants.”

You crossed your arms over your chest, trying to hold off a smile. It was finally happening. He had cracked.

“His name is Jake.” You said and Ethan locked eyes with you. A smile tugged at his lips as he realized that you were no longer angry at him.

“I don’t fucking care.” He said with a breathless laugh, taking another step forward so he was directly in front of you, almost hovering over you.

Your breath caught in your throat but you refused to break the eye contact, daring him to kiss you. To touch you. To do anything.

“I’m yours.” You whispered quietly, almost whimpering as he brought a hand up to stroke your arm gently. He broke eye contact, glancing at his moving hand before bringing it up even further to grip your jaw.

You gasped, knees getting weak as he brought you forward with a force you welcomed, his other hand placed on the small of your back to press yourself against him. And just like that, he pressed his lips to yours. You moaned shamelessly as he pried your lips open with his, deepening the kiss while tightening his grip on your jaw, having full control of the kiss.

“Ethan...” You gasped against his lips as you felt his thigh slip between your legs, pressing against where you wanted him the most.

“I know.” He murmured, breath hitting your lips as he went in for another kiss that made you burn all over.

Your arms seemed to have a life of their own as one wrapped around his waist, the other hand tangling itself in his hair. He pulled back after a while, making you whimper at the loss.

“I’m just gonna text Gray and tell him that we went back to the apartment.” He murmured lowly, voice husky with lust. You nodded, voice long gone.

He shot off a text, slipping his phone into the backpocket before grabbing your hand. And you couldn’t stop the large smile on your face as you both walked out of the festival, squeezing his hand that was in yours, mind racing over all the activities that was waiting for you when you got back.
