masterlist.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021 is a little dramatic in Max’s opinion. Some would say controversial. A lot of restarts. The issue with the safety car. Hamilton and Verstappen goes neck to neck. 369.5 points to 369.5. In the end, Verstappen overtakes Hamilton and wins the 2021 World Drivers' Championship.
The team celebrates with him after winning and in the sea of Red Bull employees, Max searches for you.
He won! Max Verstappen won! He’s a WDC now! He finally made truth of the world he told you in 2019.
Kelly appears and kisses him square on the lips. Max sees you in his peripheral vision, pulling your ball cap lower on your face before turning around and leaving. He wants to call you but Kelly keeps him in place.
Max visits your hotel room later, all happy and he holds the canned bottle of beer to you when you open the door.
“I’m not the sour loser anymore.”
You smile at him and Max feels like he’s on top of the podium again.
“Told ya you’ll be champion one day. Congrats, champ. Very happy for you.”
Champ.
Max decides that he likes Champ over every name you call him.
2022
you: go to fucking sleep u degenerate gamer
you: its 3 in the morning you have a race at 8
max: youre not my mother
you: i am ur manager u ass
you: and i have ur mom’s cell no
you: i will fucking call her if ur stream doesn't turn offline in ten seconds
you: 10…
max: you wouldnt dare
you: 9…
He moves into a penthouse at the beginning of the year and purchases a jet, Dassault Falcon 900EX, to make the traveling easier. Flying commercial absolutely sucks, even first class.
When he mentions the money he spent; the penthouse rental cost, the price of the jet plus maintenance of the private plane service, you have stood up and went to the balcony to stare at the Monaco scenery to gather your thoughts. Max laughs as he watches your brain overheat. He tells security that you’re to be given an immediate pass into the building and his penthouse without the need of going through the strict security checks. He gives you a keycard that you barely use because you knock on the door every single time you come by. A month later, Kelly and Penelope move in and this is the beginning of the little family charade.
“What are you doing?”
“Is it not obvious?” you gesture to the iPad in your hand. “Readin’ a Lestappen fic in AO3.”
Max’s brows furrow.
“Lestappen?”
“The ship name between you and Charles. Lestappen. Leclerc, Verstappen, Lestappen,” you say as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world and he’s stupid for even asking, waving your hand in a complicated flourish. “It’s good. Top-tier literature. Want me to send you the link?”
Max’s nose scrunches, “So there are people who ship me and Charles?”
“You’d be surprised.”
“Romantically?”
You nod, “Want the link?”
“Absolutely not.”
You shrug your shoulders.
“Your loss.”
Max wins P1 (as things should be) in Austin, Hamilton P2, and Leclerc P3. The team holds a private drinking party in the hotel bar. Max sits with Leclerc, whom he has invited, and Lando, who came with Daniel, and Daniel because he’s Daniel and he still gets a free pass in Red Bull parties even though he’s in McLaren now.
Daniel passes him a bottle of Heineken and Max searches for the bottle opener on the table but it's nowhere. He reaches for you, who sits on the neighboring table with the PR team. Max grabs the hem of your polo shirt sleeve and tugs slightly to get your attention. He opens his mouth to ask if you’ve seen the bottle opener but you got to moving, not even giving Max the chance to speak.
Without even interrupting your conversation with the PR people or even breaking eye contact with the person who is talking animatedly, you take the beer bottle from Max’s hand, toss a hand towel on top of it, then you use your teeth to remove the cap. It opens with a loud click. You wipe the rim of the bottle, pocketing the bottle cap, before returning the Heineken to Max.
Max looks at the Heineken bottle in his hand.
You know, Sophie, Max’s mother, always say that there's a certain type of intimacy existing when two people are able to communicate without the use of words. People associate intimacy with bare skins and basking in the fragility and vulnerability of a person, but intimacy goes deeper than mere nakedness and showing all the bare parts of you to the other person. Intimacy comes hand in hand with truth. When you admit your truth to the other person, that's intimacy. Her knowing his truth, his needs, without him telling her. That's another kind. If that's not the purest form of love then he does not know what is.
Charles pats his shoulder to pull him to reality.
At that moment, Max decides he’s an asshole because he just realized that he likes his manager after she opens his beer bottle and he has a fucking girlfriend now.
Max wins WDC for the second year in a row. Leclerc is at second and Perez at third. He’s on the top of the fucking world. Everything feels right now that he’s standing at the top.
His eyes search for you in the crowd but he doesn't find you. Only Kelly. He kisses Kelly, celebrates with the team, and visits you in your hotel room later with a cold can of beer in hand. It's a little past midnight, his watch tells him. You open the door seconds after Max knocks.
“Have you talked to Horner?” you ask, accepting the beer and opening it. The loud click when you open it feels satisfying in his ears.
You’ve changed out of the Red Bull polo now and instead, you wear a black shirt.
“No,” Max shakes his head.
“When will you?”
“Soon.”
That's the only truth he can offer. Because the bigger truth is this: Max doesn't want you going anywhere, not even the engineering team who works closely with him. He only wants you here, beside him, behind him, at all times.
One more year. One more year and he's going to tell Christian to move you to the engineering team. One more year to have you and he’ll let you go.
(That's what he told himself last year, too.)
“Okay,” you nod and it relieves Max that you’re not arguing with him about it. “Congrats, Champ.”
You don't fly with him to Monaco. You don't fly with the team either. Instead, you fly to Texas immediately straight from Abu Dhabi. Max calls you once in the middle of break to greet you happy holidays and you mail him his gift—a clay keychain figure of him. He adds it to his keys, sitting right next to the beaded keychain you gave him back in 2020 and a bottle opener keychain in 2021.
2023
“Should I break up with Kelly?”
Your head snaps up at a speed that should be considered a hazard, stunned. You give Max a look that can be translated as: Did the g-force finally catch up to your brain?
“What prompted this?” you question, slowly setting Max’s laptop aside. You’re working on fixing his laptop’s wifi connection while he’s getting his makeup done for the Heineken ad filming. Once the makeup artist deemed him done and left the room, he immediately took the chance to ask the question.
“Nothing,” he lies.
“I’ll throw away your laptop if you don't tell me the truth,” you threaten.
“It's just—” Max pauses. His mouth feels dry. He licks his lips before continuing, “It’s just… I don't know how to explain it. It feels like I don't love Kelly anymore.”
I think I love you, [Name].
“Aight,” you grab a monoblock chair and drag it until it's right beside Max’s chair and plop your ass down. You sigh deeply before your face schools into complete seriousness. “Can't believe I’m the one givin’ you this talk. Uh, Max, you see, in a relationship, you typically experience this period called the honeymoon phase.”
Max nods slowly. He doesn't know where you're trying to get at but he clings on each word that leaves your mouth.
“The honeymoon phase can last anywhere from months to years and when it's done, the strong feelings and infatuation you have for Kelly decreases and that's natural. This is the stage where your bond with Kelly is strengthened,” you explain. “It's not all sunshine and rainbows. It can get boring. But the love is still there. It's just…well, less intense than before.”
He wants to ask if this happened to you and Leo as well, but he bites his tongue and says a different thing instead, “You give advice like a relationship guru.”
“Baby, I have a long list of ex-lovers. Kelly’s your first girlfriend. You don't have a say.”
Your birthday is near. Daniel shares to Max that he’s buying you a new ball cap this year, signed by your favorite professional billiard player. Max needs to give you something better.
He thinks about the things you like. He makes a list. It's a short one.
Beer
A spot in the engineering team.
Your family
He cannot give number three. He cannot give what you already have. He can give you number two but he doesn't want to. He doesn't want you to be anything other than his manager. He can give you number one but it'll be very lame of him if he gives you beer for your birthday. What is better than Daniel’s gift? What would you like more than a ballcap?
Max calls his sister that evening.
“Shoes,” she says. “Oh wait, that's a little hard. You might get her shoe size wrong.”
“She’s size 7. In Euro, 37,” Max states a little too quickly and a little too sure.
“How did you know her shoe size?” Victoria wonders.
“I don't know. I just watch her feet?”
“So, you estimated her shoe size by watching her feet like a creep?”
“I watch her feet a normal amount, Victoria,” Max insists.
“Max, I can't even tell my husband’s shoe size even if I stare at his feet for hours.”
“Maybe you just suck at estimating measurements.”
Max ends up getting the shoes with Victoria’s help. Victoria gets too irritated with him midway because he is too indecisive. He thinks all the shoes that’s displayed do not suit you.
It's not even this difficult when he’s picking shoes to give Kelly. Normally, he just asks the saleswoman to show him the most expensive or the latest in their stock and he buys it, instructs the storespeople to wrap it up and make sure the brand shows because Kelly likes it when the brand is big and bright and attention-grabbing.
“If you think nothing’s pretty enough then go get a custom made shoe,” she advises and then sighs in exasperation. Victoria shakes her head at him. It's not supposed to be a serious suggestion but Max takes it to heart.
Instead of black, Max goes for white. You rarely go in white clothing but when you do, you become so beautiful that Max has to stop himself from kneeling down in front of you and risking everything.
It has pearls and diamonds and satin. All beautiful things that reminded Max of you. Max wants, no, needs to see you put them on. He’s the one who puts it in a box. White-colored with peach stickers and a peach-colored ribbon.
Max plans to give them to you after he wins the Miami Grand Prix. But your family arrives just as he’s about to retrieve it from his driver’s room.
Max meets your family. A family that consists of happy parents and three brothers. You are your family’s unica hija.
Julio [Last Name], your father, is a big man and his accent is thicker than yours and he doesn't call you by your name, only the most affectionate-sounding mija. He reminds Max of a giant teddy bear. A giant teddy bear who crushes rocks for a living.
Your mother, on the other hand, is a stern-looking woman. Sally, her name was. She’s short, compared to you and her sons and her husband.
You have three brothers. One older—you call him Damiano. Two younger—Rafael and Dominic. You are more your mother than your father, Max notices. Appearance-wise anyway. Damiano, too. Sharp-looking, both of you. Your sharpness makes you look charming whereas your Damiano’s sharpness makes him look intimidating. Your two younger brothers are carbon copies of your father, a little round and with kinder looking features.
“Papa, Mama, Bro one, two, and three, this is Max,” you introduce him, smiling widely and you're doing that smile where you’re showing too much gums and your eyes are shaped like crescents. Happiness looks good on you.
He lets out an oof sound when your father engulfs him in a hug. Max hears you exclaim: “Papa!”
Max laughs and waves his hand to tell you that the hug is fine and is very much welcomed.
“Congratulations, Maxwell!” Julio claps Max’s shoulders.
“Papa, please,” you shake your head at your father’s antics. “It's just Max.”
“Ya want to join us for [Name]’s birthday?” Julio invites. Max catches your eyes. You mouth a no but Max shrugs and says, “Sure.”
Max joins the family dinner. It's held in a Mexican restaurant somewhere downtown. Originally, your family reserved a table for ten. But Max has gone ahead and reserved the entire restaurant by paying upfront. You slap Max’s hand but Max laughs and says, “Happy Birthday [Name].”
Over dinner, Maxs learns that Rafael, Dominic, and Damiano are the biggest motosport fans so they all talk about Formula One and occasionally MotoGP. He finds out that they're a big fan of Marc Marquéz. Max tells them that he knows Marc personally and shares his experiences with the man. He promises to send them the man’s signatures. You tell him that he doesn't have to. He tells you that it's his pleasure.
Max listens in attentively as Julio narrates his amazing tales about his work experience. You laugh at the surprised Pikachu face Max makes when Julio is telling the entire table about the creepy call he responded to just the other month. You and your mother occasionally join in on the conversation but are more comfortable with listening to the boys.
Later, you stand up to excuse yourself to go to the bathroom. Max stands from the table five minutes after you leave. He’s drunk too much soda so now he needs to take a piss.
“Are you okay?” Max asks as he catches you reapplying a layer of lipstick—a shade of nude rose—on the sink in front of the washroom.
You hold the lipstick in one hand but the other is holding your right arm, palm covering the word MANAGER printed on the sleeve of your Red Bull polo shirt like it's something to be ashamed about.
“Yeah.” A lie.
The rest of the night goes the way Max wants it. He almost wishes it won't end.
Kelly waits for him in his hotel room. She gives him a gift for winning P1. The shoe box in Max’s backpack remains untouched.
He’s got every country except Singapore, Saudi, and Azerbaijan under his belt. His third WDC is secure even if he loses Abu Dhabi, but Max is selfish. He still wants a P1 in Abu Dhabi so he fights and fights until no one can catch up because of how fast he was.
Kelly comes with him this time to watch him race and support him because it's the final race of the season and she also knows that Max is going to win WDC this year. P is over at her father right now so it's just the two of them.
“Babe!” Max looks up from his laptop. Kelly comes running in and Max’s eyes widened, horrified, when she sees that Kelly is holding it.
The white shoes.
Max stands abruptly. The laptop in his lap falls to the floor and shatters. He curses and crouches down to pick it up and save what he can save. When he looks up, Kelly is sitting on the bed now and is trying the shoes on. Max shoves the damaged laptop aside and strides towards her. He’ll deal with the laptop later.
“That's not—”
“Oh?” Kelly’s face morphs in confusion. “It doesn't fit.”
Kelly chuckles yet it sounds empty and dread pools in Max’s stomach.
“You bought me shoes many times already. There’s no way you’ll get my shoe size wrong.”
Max takes the shoes from her hand quickly and he puts them back carefully in the box.
“That's not for me,” Kelly states.
“It’s not for you,” Max echoes.
“Then who’s it for, Babe?”
Max doesn't answer. Instead, he avoids her gaze.
“Max Emilian Verstappen, who’s the shoes for?” Kelly is seething now.
For the first time in their two nearly three year long relationship, Max and Kelly get into a screaming argument. They get into arguments as all couples do, but never ones with screaming and crying and too much anger in one room.
“I can't go on like this anymore,” Kelly cries. “I can't. I let it go when you made me wait because you celebrated her birthday with her family. I let it go when you made her that crochet bag. I let it go when you bought a billiard table and brought it into our home because she likes playing billiards—”
“I tried breaking up with you!” Max roars and he sees Kelly flinch. “And you told me not to. You used Penelope so I wouldn't break up with you—”
“Do not even say my daughter's name—”
“It's true!” Max throws his hands in the air like a man gone mad. “I told you in fucking July that I think I’m losing feelings for you! You told me to not break up with you because Penelope already thinks of me as her father and it’ll break her heart if I kick you out of my house! I am NOT her father, Kel, her father’s Daniil! You only want me because I can give you everything you want! Money, pride, and a fucking father figure for your child!”
Kelly strikes his cheek. Sharp, fast, and strong. Max remains still in shock and stares ahead.
Kelly has officially become the second person in this world who has raised a hand at Max.
“I hate you,” Kelly utters it with so much intensity. “I hate you. We’re done.”
She leaves quickly.
Max’s phone buzzes.
you: hey champ. race is on in an hour n a half. u good to go?
max: yeah
max: i’ll be there soon
you: i’ll wait for u
max: you always do
Max races with the guilt that he's a cheating asshole. His mother will not be proud of it once she learns that her son has dated a girl and idiotically realized that he’s in love with his manager halfway through the relationship.
Despite the emotional turmoil that swirling inside him, Max takes P1 and becomes a third-time WDC. He celebrates with the team. You excuse yourself, saying you have something important to do, and Max doesn't bother asking you to stay because he knows he’ll visit you in your hotel room later with a cold can of beer. It’s become your ritual now.
He drinks with Daniel, Yuki, and Checo. Five bottles in, he spills everything. He pukes. It tastes disgusting. His world turns into a hazy blur. You came to his rescue because that's what you always do.
Max is so dumb for taking so long in realizing that he's in love with you. It's always been you. You and your dumb considerate attitude and your snarky personality and your crude mouth. He never realized how horrifyingly enormous his desire for you is until its right there in front of him with its mouth wide open, ready to swallow him whole.
you: landed
you: thanks for the jet
you: talk soon gotta get to papa 1st
max: ok
max: stay safe
max: your dad will be alright dont worry
you: i hope so
It has been seven days since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, three days since you left Monaco, two days since your last conversation in Instagram, and a day before Max flies to Belgium to celebrate the holidays with his mother and sister and his sister’s family.
max: are you okay?
max: just landed in belgium
max: mum and vic says hi
max: hey it's been a week now
max: is your dad okay?
max: im worried
max: call me soon please
max: happy holidays
max: or merry christmas
max: whatever you celebrate there in america
max: yeah i greeted a little too early
max: you didn't answer my call
max: im friends with logan now by the way
max: we talk at times

Sometimes I think about how at the Ferrari movie premiere, Christian Horner said ‘I am sure they wanna keep hold of him and they’d be crazy if they didn’t’ when asked about charles renewal contract, almost with this threatening look like he is ready to pounce the moment Ferrari fuck up again; and Toto playing clueless like ‘Oh I don’t know anything about a contract but why wouldn’t Ferrari sign him’ because I am pretty sure both of them approached Charles this year 👀 and the funny part being no one was asking them about Carlos lmao
Charles the darling made sure he had all the cards and (hopefully) got what he wanted!
they both approached him at the beginning of the year, charles declined mercedes immediately. then i believe helmut leaked the unsuccessful attempt to get charles around may.
then charles started again flirting with ferrari after the padel date event, which was after qatar, and was seen being friendly with christian horner, other RB employees, and max during the triple header. back in vegas, he hung out more with max than his own teammate. that's when i believe there were negotiations taking place, i still believe @tsarinablogs's theory that charles did, in fact, sign a pre-contract with red bull following the singapore/cota/brazil shit show, and actually showed ferrari he was aiming to act on it - i believe even the questions about their rivarly with max during press conferences were plugged in by red bull to further spread their lestappen teammate duo agenda.
it switched around abu dhabi, when fred made the statements about charles being the leader they need, and his subtle carlos shade (after he almost cost them the cost cap breach).
charles, however, definitely gained more individual autonomy out of that pressure he put on ferrari and also is now able to do many things that his previous ferrari contract did not allow him (more personal PR than the ferrari one, wearing his clothing brand, hanging out with people that aren't exactly tifosi approved like max in the paddock).
so yeah, i believe charles truly played his cards REALLY well and managed to get that contract he wanted. i believe christian's obsession with charles still makes him believe that if ferrari failed, he could snatch him, which probably would be possible with the exit iron clauses.
also charles nor ferrari not dislosing the length of the contract definitely is a bit sus, so there's that

No. 36 - Riyadh Air
No, they are not changing their name to Saudi Arabian Airways, but there is a new development on the Saudi Arabian flag carrier front.
Tumblr media
That's right, Saudia is dead, sayonara you w-
No. That isn't true, that was a joke. But what isn't a joke is that Riyadh Air is a planned second flag carrier for Saudi Arabia.
Tumblr media
That's mostly a joke. Other countries have multiple flag carriers, though that comes with a couple caveats. Usually when this happens one is full-service and international while the other is domestic and/or low cost. The UAE has two flag carriers, but one is Dubai's and the other is Abu Dhabi's, which feels like an important distinction.
Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, just has decided they want to operate a second airline instead of doing the normal thing and putting all their resources into one really good airline. I don't understand it. The plan is to keep Saudia based in Jeddah while Riyadh Air is based in Riyadh...again, plenty of airlines have multiple hubs, so I don't see the point. They claim to be the first "digital-native airline", which is shaped like words yet means nothing (also, take that up with David Neeleman and Breeze). They've nabbed Etihad's old CEO and bought a bunch of 787s, and the stated goal is to become the largest carrier in the Gulf region at an unprecedented blistering pace in order to increase tourism. Given Emirates's numbers...well, it's probably still more likely to happen than a startup airline operating exclusively A380s managing to turn a profit, but that's not saying much.
Anyway, they've got a livery! Apparently this is the first of two, so expect a follow-up post when the second one drops, but for now there's plenty to talk about as is.
Unlike many - nay, most - of the subjects I cover, Riyadh Air has made me do absolutely zero research. You do get modern liveries like jetBlue and Lufthansa with little style guides to weakly attempt to back up their relatively mundane graphic design choices and things like condor and Icelandair's lovely little webpages, but Riyadh Air has done them all at least one if not several better by not only explaining in detail where they got their inspiration but also giving me a high-res 3D model of their airplane that I can rotate and zoom in and out on.
Take care; my computer is fairly underpowered and I do have an absurd number of tabs open most of the time, but this did crash my browser multiple times. Even just opening the main page of their website makes my CPU sound like it's spooling up for takeoff.
Okay. First I want to discuss the logo. They've got a video up on their thought process. I had transcribed it, but it looks better in motion, and thankfully they've stopped making it autoplay (presumably because, as I mentioned, this website absolutely guzzles processor as is) and in the process made it possible for me to simply left-click it off their website and into this post. Don't worry about it killing your browser. It's a normal video in a normal tumblr post without a 100 million dollar website chugging along in the background.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I've taken some screenshots in case anyone does have trouble with the video.)
Now this is how you design a logo. The airplane window thing feels, in retrospect, so obvious I can't believe nobody had done it yet. I think it pairs gorgeously with the R, and I love that they chose to take inspiration from Arabic calligraphy, which is not only a massive point of pride for cultures which utilize the script but also just generally gorgeous. (It looks a bit like a stretched backwards hamza to me.) The shape of the bird's wing is the part I have the most trouble actually connecting to what I'm seeing, but sure, I'll give it to them. What the heck. This logo is nice.
I mentioned when discussing China Airlines that very few airlines use lavender as a primary color. Well, here's one that does! They actually discuss this on their website as well:
Inspired by the lavender blossoms that carpet Saudi Arabia, we've chosen this color because it symbolizes Saudi generosity and its authentic hospitality.
And this is, again, pretty fantastic. This is a thoughtful choice which isn't lazy or arbitrary. It has the potential to really pack a visual punch, and it does the thing I love when flag carriers do - references a feature of its home nation.
Tumblr media
An upside to the fact that the livery page takes eons for my computer to chew on is that I get shown this lovely loading screen, which demonstrates the fantastic combination of blues and purples which make up the full scheme of this airline's colors. I love the combination of these colors. Light saturated colors are rare enough, but to see extremely dark blues and purples together like this is a rare delight. It definitely has the potential to get eyestrainy, but if done well it could look absolutely breathtaking.
But will it be done well? After all, a good idea isn't always well-implemented - see condor - and China Airlines's livery fails for me because it's barely got any lavender! So does Riyadh Air fall into the same pit? Let's check the browser-destroying 3D model they've lovingly provided us.
I love that 3D model, by the way. Instead of looking for a bunch of pictures of airplanes that happen to be in the correct lighting and at the right angle to demonstrate the exact thing I'm attempting to discuss I can just...zoom in while putting the plane at the specific angle I want. Normally I actually try not to rely too heavily on things like style guides because a piece of flat-colored concept art isn't actually going to communicate how a plane looks in motion and with light on it, but this is a really really robust model. Sure, it's not quite as maneuverable as I'd like it to be, it's still not a perfect representation of real life, but it's really well made. It even sways side to side a bit and if you zoom in close enough you can see they bothered to model the external sensors and the engines are even turning! Don't worry about the fact that if you zoom in even further you can tell the engines are just a fan suspended floating in a cowling. They even added ambient engine sounds. This model is so cool it legitimately took me several minutes of turning it around and muttering "wow..." under my breath before I realized the environment it was sitting in was just some very stretched and crunchy jpgs.
Tumblr media
Mmm, those reflections.
To be honest, I also just enjoyed playing with this thing. It's almost like having a real model plane, but doesn't cost more money than I have! But enough of that.
Tumblr media
So they definitely didn't chicken out when it came to the lavender. This plane is as purple as a Breeze Airways plane is blue (it is very purple). It's not just a purple tube, though. Even from a distance you can see that there's added detail here.
I love the wordmark, first off. They've really committed to the billboard look with this gigantic text in both English and Arabic. I love it. With such an overwhelming main body color it feels prudent to make sure the name is as visible as possible so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
Tumblr media
And with this gigantic, recognizable logo plastered on the bottom you'd be able to identify it just as well from below (and this is zoomed out as far as the website let me!). In fact, the depth of the design really shines best from below. That's not necessarily a good thing, because your plane does have to be parked sometimes, but it's not a dealbreaker either. I just need to say that this is probably my favorite design for an engine nacelle, ever. It's gorgeous, and you can see in the first picture how well it flows into the main design. They don't go together quite as well from the bottom, and from below the plane does look a bit rear-heavy and the wordmark peering in is a bit awkward, but none of those ruin it. I would be stunned if I saw this fly overhead.
The website provides a few details about the design if you zoom in and click little black dots. It took me ages to realize this. It's neither intuitive nor accessible and I truly despise it, so I've taken the liberty of transcribing the bits that matter.
Tumblr media
You can turn this plane in any which way you'd like, zoom in and out, and the details on the bottom never stop being beautiful and coherent. It truly does remind me of calligraphy. As they describe it:
Rooted in our Heritage The controlled, smooth linear profiles make up our signature "Canopy Twist". A perfect balance of our rich local culture and our modern global outlook, connecting the city of Riyadh to the world.
I love the name 'Canopy Twist', to be honest. And I love the design, too. My one criticism of it is the colors. They already have an established secondary shade of purple. That they used the text color for the highlights makes sense, but why couldn't they have used their lavender instead of a third shade of purple? In the quantity used for the underside it feels disconnected from the rest of the livery and they could have fixed that very easily by just...using their already existing secondary shade of purple? I think it would make for a very nice bridge to the tail as well, and it just feels like a colossal missed opportunity.
Tumblr media
You may have noticed that the bulk of the fuselage body is a color a bit darker than what might conventionally be considered 'lavender'. This, too, is noted.
Indigo Livery Inspired by the ever-changing colors that paint the sky from dusk till dawn. A symbol of tranquility, harmony and integrity.
(This color is obviously purple, not indigo, but I will not belabor that point.)
I love the description, the idea of the transition between dusk and dawn. Much like the window as a basis for a logo, this makes me go "why in the world has nobody thought of that before? That's brilliant!"
Tumblr media
It makes me think a bit more could have been done in the details. Maybe the canopy twist could be a gradient, like the gradient of the sky while the sun is rising? Just a thought.
Tumblr media
And ultimately it's the canopy twist that is my only real sticking point with this livery. It is beautiful and unique and well-designed and it is simply a color that sticks out like a sore thumb. It's the only warm thing creeping into a design otherwise full of beautiful cool tones, it has gorgeous flow within itself but breaks up the feeling of consistency through the airframe as a whole, and I just...I really wish it were lavender.
Tumblr media
If that's my main issue you can do a lot worse. And overall I do like the Riyadh Air livery. If that one detail was changed, this would easily be an A. This review would be all but uncritical. Except for the fact that it could use a bit of canopy twist up top, too (maybe just a tiny bit on the top of the nose, flowing in the same direction) in order to make the plane feel less rear-heavy (though it already beats out the vast majority of liveries in that sense), the issue with the color is my only big criticism. But it's the main detail of the design, isn't it?
It's wild. So much of the time my reviews are "good details, bad when you step back". But this is the opposite. Fantastic, but there's that one detail that sticks with you. And the details by and large are far from bad too. I mentioned the nacelles, and I think it very elegantly transitions the tail into the body. It would be more elegant if the design on the body was the same lavender, though!
Tumblr media
A few more nitpicks: the centering of the logo on the tailfin is a little strange, the tail would look better if it had a bit of a gradient to make it less matte-seeming, and the combined effect of those is very luxury-hotel-towel-monogram. Okay. I'm done complaining.
Tumblr media
So it falls short of being one of the best I've ever reviewed, but I still really, really like it. The calligraphy inspiration creates these elegant sweeping lines that are perfectly at home on the 787. The deep purple looks luxurious despite the fact that Riyadh Air doesn't plan to offer first class. It's eyecatching. It's stylish.
And, now that I've covered all this, let's look at the colors in person! That's right, they've already had a plane delivered in full Riyadh Air colors.
Tumblr media
The deep purple with the lighter canopy twist, combined with the tiny white dots of the various probes and such, make this plane look like an animal camouflaging itself against the night sky in a place untouched by light pollution. The light lavender contrasts sharply in this particular image, sharply enough that it feels like a slice cut out of the plane.
Tumblr media
This continues to be an issue from other angles and in other lightings, but the cool-toned light makes this purple look like true indigo and the blueish cast improves the look, giving an almost fluorescent appearance to the transition between the twist and the tail. The way the light reflects off the dark paint makes it look rippling and shifting and alive in a way it never could off white.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In shadow, the plane looks as dark as a city sky. In light, the vibrant purple of a fresh eggplant. This paint job adapts wonderfully to its environment. Much like Vietnam Airlines's, each light brings out a unique beauty.
Tumblr media
And sometimes, the tail, detached though it may look, does so in the way a shining arm of a spiral galaxy neatly transitions into the black expanse around it.
Tumblr media
Riyadh Air's planes range from ultraviolet to supervoid, but they are never lost in their environment. The principles behind the design remain consistent, and beautiful, and alone in a sky full of planes which refuse to embrace the dark skies they fly in on red-eye journeys.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, I think Riyadh Air's livery feels a bit overdesigned. They added one color too many, and a few decisions feel like they don't belong together in the same picture. Just think about the amount of colors here, the balance of major features, and think about Vietnam Airlines, and you'll see what I mean. I'm not a fan of minimalism, but sometimes the only way to keep a story straight is to minimize loose ends. A secret becomes exponentially more likely to be exposed with each new person who learns it.
But before I looked closer, before I zoomed in and out on a little 3D model while my computer screamed, I saw this livery for the first time and my jaw hit the floor. And the average person isn't going to think about this the way I do. Ultimately, my critical eye is usually something I defer to, but I can't argue with the fact that this livery is going to be to someone else what China Airlines is to me. And, like China Airlines, when they come back and look closer at it they'll notice it wasn't as perfect as they thought, but...we've come so far, if this is someone's China Airlines. And as much as I nitpick at details the package counts, too. If you asked me why China Airlines got a C- instead of a D+, my honest reason would be...it struck me enough that I singled it out to begin with, even though that started to fall apart when I looked closer.
Tumblr media
Why am I giving Riyadh Air an A- instead of a B+? Because this plane will stun people 5,000 feet below it, and they'll think to themselves that it's the prettiest plane they've ever seen.

pretty much all the commentary are taking the lewis move to ferrari as ferrari not trusting charles and this being xyz weakness on charles' part. istg if after yet again another reputation hit inflicted by the team, they either fail to give him the car or even worse, they pull a singapore or austin on charles (both under vasseur btw, can't blame that on binotto) for lewis, i really will be done with this team. good luck to ollie bearman, may you manage to run away in due time.
Pretty much all the commentary is biased towards Lewis in one way or another. Sky Sports IS f1 at this point. They are so ingrained in it. And they worship Lewis. I am very much not looking forward to that part of it. But that is only gonna make it harder for us fans. Charles will (for the most part) be unaffected. At least that's what he should do, hope Max can give him some tips on how to ignore those British pricks.
Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part, maybe it's just me hating what happened in Austin to the point of denial but I dont think something as extreme is gonna happen again. And I haven't written an extra long essay in 2 days so congrats!! Let's see why these 2 instances happened under Vasseur and why they will not happen again.
1. Singapore 2023
Fred needed that win. And when I say that I mean Fred AND CHARLES needed that win. Fred being a new TP (brought in to please Charles) needed to have results. Nothing and I mean NOTHING was allowed to stay in the way of Fred's first win with ferrari In a season like 2023. Charles was well aware of this. No matter how much Singapore hurts us, Charles was not helping Carlos in the moment. He was not even helping Ferrari. He was helping Fred. For Fred to get the respect he needs within the higher ranks of the team. Because Charles believes in the future Fred has in mind for the team. But for that future to be a possibility the TP needs to have that trust and that reputation. Both of them needed to say "see? We won! In 2023" want more of this? Trust US. And they (Fred and Charles) were successful. You're telling me Charles didn't want to attack? You're telling me he couldn't attack? That would be drama tho, they didn't need drama not after Monza. They needed the win!!
Charles made a mistake in quali and it cost him. They then had to make an adjustment to the plan and bring the win home anyway. When I say I trust Charles to make the right decisions this is what I mean. He knows how to disobey orders and attack (again, Monza) yet he did the opposite of that in Singapore. In history it will say that Carlos won that race. In reality Charles was the one who brought the win. Talk to the wall if you dont agree.
2. Austin. I get sad even thinking about it.
Fucking Austin man! Charles was a victim of his own skill. The only reason he had the wrong strategy was because he was too good at tire management. That's it that's the reason. Carlos did not get the better strategy on some strategic or backstage genious. No. He simply ate his tires and they gave him what they thought was the worse strategy. Why they didn't switch mid race? Because that's not what ferrari does. 🙄 adapting is not a word In their vocabulary. And this is one of the things that I hope will change with the new mechanics and engineers and all other personnel that Lewis will likely bring with him.
I'm not saying strategy mistakes like this will never happen again. They probably will but if we are lucky (and them better) they will happen a lot less than recent years. Hell even last year, apart from Austin and maybe Hungary I can not remember another prominent strategy mistake the team made (Carlos' strategy in Abu Dhabi was the right call and you can fight me on this)
Will they make a team decision in favor of Lewis at some point this season? Probably. It's Lewis Hamilton. Will Charles listen and submit to team orders? No. It's Charles Leclerc. He didn't do it for Seb when he was essentially a rookie in the Ferrari. He's not gonna do it when he has 5 years of experience and a team of people he brought along with a TP he got. Charles is not gonna listen. And when he does listen it is gonna be for scheming reasons. Because it works in his favor (remember what we said about Singapore)
So frankly I don't think we have anything to worry about. Apart from, you know, Lewis bitching on the radio and Crofty bitching from his commentators seat. But we're used to all that.

"What happened is a real scandal."
Here is a homemade, not so great translation of that VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD Toto interview that I mentioned yesterday.
I’ll put most of it under a cut because it’s long.
Please note that all comments are from the journalist himself and that he is indeed an asshole.
Tumblr media
(Source : Le Matin Dimanche, 20.11.22)
Last year, your team felt like they were the victim of a terrible injustice. How can one bounce back from such a situation?
(In perfect French.) Oof, it's a difficult question. (He pauses.) The only way to come back from it is to remember that, after all, it's only sport... The world isn't at stake! But of course, all of us, in the team, we give everything and we all believe in the... "stopwatch's honesty". In Abu Dhabi, the stopwatch wasn't honest. The one who was the fastest (note : Lewis Hamilton) didn't win because of... (Another pause.) Well, the word "mistake" wouldn't be appropriate to describe what happened. It's rather a real scandal. But the worst thing... Was that the entire world, the other teams, the media, everyone decided that that's how it is, and that what had happened, after all, wasn't particularly unacceptable.
What if it was you who had won the title that way?
I think we would have been a lot more humble. We would without a doubt have said that the race gods were on our side that day, but that we understood that it was hard to accept for Red Bull. Whereas last year, on the contrary, the Red Bull people didn't say anything like that. They partied like for a real title won in normal conditions. Frankly, it made our loss even more difficult to digest.
Could such a situation happen again someday?
I don't think so. The situation is much better now, the decisions are taken with more transparency. Everything that has happened around the cost cap affair (note : in which Red Bull has been condemned last month for breaching the budget) showed that the federation now admits its mistakes. Look at what happened with Gasly in Suzuka, the situation has been analysed immediately and the problem corrected (note : when Pierre Gasly found himself on track facing a crane under the Suzuka rain, reminiscent of the accident that caused the death of Jules Bianchi in 2014). Formula 1 needs honest and transparent policemen, and I think it's now the case. I don't believe that what happened in Abu Dhabi could happen again.
Why?
Because that day, several dysfunctions lined up : what the race director did was nonsense, and right after, we filed an appeal with the stewards. They, that night, should have corrected the injustice, that's what they are here for. But, pardon my French, they didn't have the balls to correct the mistake, or to at least send the affair in front of an appeal court. Everyone wanted a champion right away and they decided to confirm the result of the race. Even if it was unfair, and they knew it was.
Do you still think about it?
Always. Every day.
You're leading a 1500 person team. It must sometimes create very difficult challenges...
No, frankly, I don't find my job difficult. I'm at ease, in my comfort zone! Well, there's always decisions to make but that's nothing. You know, in my life, I've known such delicate situations, in my childhood in particular, that this doesn't do anything to me. (Note : his dad suffered from brain cancer and died during his son's teenage years.) This sport, I feel so good in it that I feel no pressure. Of course, being behind the others, like this year, annoys me. But it's a... Let's say positive annoyance. Wanting to beat them excites me.
During the qualifications and the races, when the cameras show you in the garage, you seem impassive. What are you thinking about?
Yes, well, sometimes I react in ways I'm not proud of. (He smiles. He's alluding to the 2021 Saudi Arabian GP, during which he broke his headset in anger.) I try to stay calm and focused. I perceive everything happening around me. It's to stay lucid, to try to manage the best way I can. It's a little bit like a plane pilot : if one panics, one does a bad job. And when I lose my cool, it's when I feel an injustice. When I threw my headset in Jeddah, it was when Verstappen braked right in the middle of the straight and Lewis hit him. I thought our championship chances were lost.
You have a busy life between your Monaco apartment, your Oxford house, your wife who is leading a Formula E team, and your 5 year old son. With next year's 24 grand prix, how will you manage all these lives?
It might look complicated as far as travelling goes, yes. But I have a very stable family situation. My marriage is fantastic, it could not have been better, our organisation is perfect. Monaco is our base, that's where I have my office, where Jack goes to school, where a lady takes care of him when we're gone. But when we're there, we take care of him. As far as personal life goes, I feel on top! At the moment (note : the interview took place in Mexico) Susie and the little one are in Oxford, because there's a school holiday in Monaco. Once I go home, his grandparents will take him camping. He loves it. In the meantime, Susie and I will go to Lisbon for one of our sponsors. Then we will go back to Oxford to get Jack on Sunday and we will be back in Monaco for school. It's our life. We've always done it like this, it runs smoothly.
What regrets do you have?
Oh, a lot! (He laughs.) I could have taken better decisions sometimes in this or that race, details like that. My biggest regret is that my first marriage didn't work. Because happiness for me is spending time with my family. You know, we spend a lot of days together. When I go to a grand prix, it's minimal service. I leave on Thursday and I'm back Sunday night (note : in private jets, it's faster !). The rest of the time, I'm available for my family.
This year, after 8 titles, you will probably end up third in the constructor standings. It must be difficult...
It's a rather complicated situation. (He thinks.) After that much success, it's normal we felt a drop in enthusiasm in our team. Imagine if you celebrated Christmas 8 times a year rather than once. The eighth time, you probably won't be as excited as the first (note : admitting Christmas excites you in the first place). What motivates me, as I said, is precisely trying to get back to winning.
Why didn't it work this year?
We lost because we didn't predict the consequences of the regulation changes that happened this winter correctly (note : with the return of the ground effect). We didn't see the porpoising (note : the bouncing) coming, neither in the wind tunnel, nor in the simulations. It surprised us. For me, it was difficult to see our engineers not understanding what was happening. But to get back on top, the whole team is even more motivated now than during our successful years. Winning in F1, it's only about mastering the laws of physics, there's no mystique in it!
What do you think of the whimsical outfits worn by your driver, Lewis Hamilton ? Do you also sometimes allow yourself some fashion whims?
Mmmh, I have to tell you what happened this summer. (He smiles.) I was in Los Angeles to visit my eldest son, who studies there. That evening, I was in a restaurant with a shirt given to me by Daniel Ricciardo, with a rather fancy design – I love his clothing line. The Mercedes photograph was there, he's an artist. He gave me Oakley glasses, 80's style, took a picture of me and posted it on our Instagram account. Susie called me immediately to tell me I looked like an idiot, that I looked like Borat... All this to say I need to accept that I am a certain age, and so I cannot wear just anything I want like Lewis does! But I try to stay young, at least in my head. And I put hydrating creams on my face, it's an advice from Lewis. I do what he tells me to...
What does Lewis represent for the Mercedes team?
Lewis has an immense place in our team. More than that : he's an integral part of it. And he's going to stay for a long time, believe me. Formula 1 is his life... And we will get that eighth title together!

for real that lock up after he passed carlos will haunt me for a while. that was the chance for the podium. this sort of mistake in a title fight would be damaging and it makes me worried for the future, because if he ever gets a winning car, he can't afford silly mistakes like this.
the positive for me is that I'm glad he didn't play butler for carlos like people wanted. everyone complaining he should have fought harded with max and checo just to help carlos and I'm so proud of him for not doing it! He was smart, took care of his tires and fought for the podium in the best opportunity he got. a shame that he didn't succeed, but "its like this"
If it’s the lock up I’m thinking about, I’d call it “lock up or double dnf” because Carlos waved under braking. And well, double Ferrari dnf in Italy is always funny, but Charles is not an idiot and actually grew from “leterrorism 2020 edition”.
And we can’t compare this to title fight because it’s two completely different situations in completely different conditions.
Max made mistakes last year. They cost him nothing, because he had functional team and disfunction rivals. Max and Lewis in 2021 made plenty mistakes, but what cost Lewis his championship: him pressing wrong button in Baku or team idiotic strategy in Abu Dhabi or FIA inconsistence?
Sorry I’m kinda a bit defensive about this, because I’ve said and will repeat - he has never had a properly functional team and reliable car in his Ferrari career. And this is what cost him the only fight for wdc he had, not his 2 mistakes.
I agree that it would be breathtaking if he managed to finish on podium in Monza again, but - was it his mistake that ruined his chances for p3 or Ferrari inability to react accordingly to race events which ruined for him potential p2?
Anyway, in bigger picture of this season - it’s nothing. He doesn’t have the obsession about finishing higher than his teammate at all costs.
P.S. I’m also proud of him choosing his battles smartly and not giving up til the end.

🫧 - enemies to lovers with max with driver!reader
-🧸
max is a lover, but goddamn is he fighter. it would go like:
listen, in all fairness it was just an inchident. you had aquaplaned right into max. it was an accident, and you didn't have control over the kart.
it was also over ten years ago.
max could really hold a grudge. but so could you.
you were both competing in f1, finally after making your way up and landing a seat in redbull. with max.
you were going head to head with him (and charles but he was irrelevant in this equation). it was very reminiscent of the the three way battle of kimi, lewis, and fernando battle in 2007.
you were always down each others throats in driver briefings, always tryna catch the other in a technicality. you both have never wanted to see the other fall so far down so bad.
but it all changed in singapore, when lando had overestimated his driving ability and forced you into the wall.
it was a really bad crash, so bad you barely managed to get yourself out of your car.
the dnf costed you a considerable amount of points, forcing you back into p3 in the standings, which had you more defeated than anything.
you were sitting in your drivers room, after being cleared by med staff, sulking in your shit result and plotting ways to kill lando when theres a knock on your door.
"come in." max pokes his head through the door, and your frown. "get out."
he can't help but chuckle, opening the door wider and planting himself in the entry way. "just checking in on ya... t'was a pretty bad crash."
you nod, "yeah. i'm fine. my ego's bruised more than anything."
he nods. "well.... i um.. i'm glad you're okay. and you'll be back up there after next race."
you raised your brow at him but nod, "yeah. hope so."
after that, you and max were civil. the tension between the garages was thinning out, everyone had noticed.
even christian did, much to his delight. "glad you two are getting along."
come the second to last race, you were neck and neck with your teammate. las vegas had really put you up there, just two points behind max.
you celebrated your win (and double rbr podium too) in sin city the best way you knew how: in the club with the most expensive bottle of tequila.
the night was one whole blur, only pieces coming back to you the morning after.
what you dont remember is how you ended up in bed with your teammate.
you both were awake in a panic, scrambling to the opposite ends of the bed, clutching the sheets to cover your body.
you both agreed to pretend that it never happened, and that you should go back to hating each other. because god was life so much easier when you hated max.
except now you cant stop thinking of him, the way his arms felt around you that morning. you suddenly can't stop thinking of the way he smells, or the way his hair was up in different directions.
max too, with his memory of your hair in his face and your soft skin under his fingers. god he could never rid of you even if he tried.
abu dhabi comes sooner than either of you expect. with a redbull front row lockout, you walk up to max before climbing into your car for the formation lap. "good luck out there." "likewise. see you on the podium."
you did. you saw max, all the way from the stop step. because you won. you were the champion. you beat him.
actually, you saw max after giving your team and family hugs. you both had hugged each other so tightly, max grabbing either side of your helmet and resting it against his. "you did it. congratulations"
after all the debriefs, the interviews, the multitude of congratulations, max finds you again in your drivers room.
"the team is lookin for ya." he says, standing awkwardly in the doorway of your room.
"coming, i'm coming."
you are about to walk out of your room when max pulls you back by your arm. you look at him confused. "what?"
"i like you."
your face goes blank, eyes wide. you weren't expecting that.
"i've liked you for a while now actually, and to be fair i was dick because i liked your attention and i know-"
"thats so kindergarten of you."
"i know. but ive never been to good with the ladies. but i'd like to be good with you... if you'd give me a chance."
you try to fight the smile on your face. you tiptoe and press a light kiss on his cheek. "we can talk about it over dinner." and finally you walk past him.
max is on your trail, goofy smile on his lips, "tomorrow at 7?"
"its a date."

Why Market analysis is important in the modern day business setting?
The importance of market analysis is similar to the importance of research in prior to any huge investment. In simple language, market analysis is simply learning about the map before getting along with a treasure hunt. That said, it helps you understand the territory, recognize where the treasure (or opportunity) lies, and come up with the finest course of action to reach it while avoiding potential pitfalls.
On the other hand, for any new company, before getting market entry Saudi Arabia this "plan" can help in proper guidance and implementation of strategies. Moreover, this post will dive into why market analysis is crucial for the success of any new company and how you must go about it.
Tumblr media
What is Market Analysis and how it can help?
Talking in layman’s terms, market analysis includes gathering and analyzing data around the industry you're entering, potential clients, and your competitors. It's around replying key questions: Is there a request for your product or service? Who are your clients? What are their needs and inclinations? Who are your competitors, and what can you offer that they can't? This understanding is foundational since it talks regarding each angle of your business strategy from product improvement to promoting, cost, and more.
On the other hand, market analysis helps you distinguish both opportunities and challenges inside your target domain. Moreover, it can uncover gaps within the market that your products or services can fill, making you appear where the "treasure" lies.
At the same time, it can also highlight potential challenges, such as strong competition or administrative obstacles, permitting you to plan techniques to overcome them. Also, without this investigation, you might miss profitable opportunities or run headlong into challenges that may have been dodged. Moreover, it is quite important if you are getting along with company formation in Abu Dhabi Global Market.
Customizing your services and products
Every customer of the modern era looks for personalized products and services. That said, one of the key benefits of market analysis is that it empowers you to tailor your products or services to the requirements and inclinations of your target customers. Also, by understanding what your potential customers are looking for, you can design your offerings to meet those needs better than your competitors. Moreover, this can be a critical differentiator during company formation in Dubai International Financial Center.
The importance of Strategic Decision Making
On the other hand, Market analysis informs strategic decision-making. Additionally, it provides the data and insights needed to make informed choices about where to allocate resources, which markets to enter, and how to position your company. For instance, if market analysis for market entry Saudi Arabia reveals a high demand for a particular service in an underserved region, a new company might decide to focus its efforts on that region. Without these insights, companies risk making decisions based on assumptions rather than facts, which can lead to costly mistakes.
Proper Risk Management is important
If you are an entrepreneur, you must know that starting a new company is inherently risky, but market analysis can help mitigate some of these risks. Also, by providing a clear picture of the market, it allows companies to make calculated risks rather than taking blind leaps of faith. For example, if analysis shows that a specific market segment is shrinking, a company might decide to focus its resources elsewhere. This way, you can thereby avoid potential losses during company formation in Abu Dhabi Global Market. In essence, market analysis acts as a risk management tool, helping new companies navigate uncertain waters more safely.
The significance of fund procurement
For new companies and new businesses looking for investment, an intensive market analysis is frequently a prerequisite. That said, Investors need to see that you got a profound understanding of the market you're entering, including the cost, client socioeconomics, and competitive scene. Moreover, a comprehensive, market analysis can make the difference between securing funding and being turned away. This is because it illustrates that you simply have done your homework and are making data-driven choices during company formation in Dubai International Financial Center.
Long-term planning is the key
At last, market investigation isn't just around the present but also regarding laying the foundation for long-term success. Moreover, it helps you set practical objectives and targets, plan for development, and expect future patterns and changes within the markets. Also, by routinely updating your marketing analysis, you'll stay ahead of the competition, adjusting your procedures to meet modern day market needs.
Final words
Hence, we can say that market analysis is an irreplaceable tool for the success of any new company. Moreover, it will offer detailed knowledge required to explore the markets, distinguish and seize opportunities, customize services to client needs, make key choices, oversee risks, secure funding, and plan for the long term.
That said, within the competitive and ever-changing market scene, skipping market analysis is like setting on a journey without a map. It’s possible, but it also increases the probability of getting misguided or running haywire. This is where by offering your time and assets into the market analysis, new companies can increase their chances of success and create a path for a prosperous future.

Monza in half: new referees, same mistakes
The italian press is back! Most of it is against the shit show FIA did and how that ruined Monza because like one of our comm said, “they ruined the race but then they use the shot from Monza podium to promote the sport”. And isn’t he 100% right.
Tumblr media
As always, translation under the cut, every mistake is on me, pls share to support my effort in sharing italian press with you all✨
Unanimous booing, by those who were dressed in red and those in orange. The final of the Italian Grand Prix under the Safety Car regime has displeased everyone, winners and losers, and that is what the FIA should think about. Does the F1 of the show and sold out at every Grand Prix have to take a step towards the public even at the cost of not fully complying with the verdict that has emerged on the track in terms of performance? It is a question that Stefano Domenicali (CEO of Liberty Media) and Mohammed Bin Sulayem (president of the FIA) will surely ask themselves. ‘Change the referee, not the mistakes,’ is the title of Leo Turrini’s editorial on Il Resto del Carlino “The logic of the sport would have imposed to grant Leclerc the extreme chance. I don't think there are conspiracies. Instead, there is a worrying incompetence, already seen in the past. This Formula 1, so loved by an increasingly young audience, has a moral obligation to respect those who follow it.”
‘Hashes and steps back, inadequate Federation’ is instead the title of Giorgio Terruzzi's comment on Il Corriere della Sera. “They are slow, always a little arrogant. They are the men of the International Federation. A company to change after a few too many messes, like the one that handed over the title to Verstappen, Abu Dhabi 2021. Some are fired, others are appointed, rarely based on authority. In Monza on Saturday it took them almost 4 hours to dial the starting grid, losing the path dealing with the drivers penalties. Not satisfied, they put on a (slow as hell, can’t be a literal translation) finish yesterday, complete with tractors on the track under safety car – entered at the wrong time – offering the same scene that in 2014 in Japan cost Bianchi his life”, the attack that starts from the columns of the Milan-based newspaper.
‘Monza in half’ is instead the opening of Repubblica: “One hundred years of solitude. Without a race-worthy ending, without battle and without joy. Not even for those who win, Max Verstappen, even if that success would have been deserved anyway. And instead he is unfairly booed. Monza celebrates a century disatisfiing everyone – the bitter observation underlined by the newspaper based in Rome – on the grandstands there are 150 thousand fans who paid to see a show, not a train of immobilized cars passing under the finish line. The booing is mainly for the race management, which does apply a regulation, but in a clumsy and slow way. Perhaps overwhelmed by the still alive ghosts of the deconclusional epilogue of the last championship in Abu Dhabi, after which, apart from the threats to Michael Masi and his exit from the Fia, the rules were changed precisely for situations similar to those of yesterday.”
‘Fifth Power’ headlines La Stampa, focusing on Max Verstappen’s fifth consecutive victory: “Max Verstappen’s Italian mission ends with the fifth consecutive victory, the eleventh of the season, the 31st of his career. One of the ugliest, though deserved: the race was neutralized by the safety car with eight laps to go and ended like this, with the cars being columned and the ban on overtaking. At the checkered flag, the fans pour themselves as traditionally along the entire straight line and whistle the Red Bull champion because he doesn't drive a Ferrari. Nothing else they can reproach him: he is the best. He had never climbed the podium in Monza, he had never experienced the emotion of seeing that red multitude that now disputes him. He will come up for the championship perhaps already in the next Grand Prix in Singapore, where a series of results could guarantee him the second consecutive title.” Booing or not, Safety Car or not, with 11 wins out of 16 races played in this 2022 Max Verstappen already has the first match point on the championship in the sixth final race of the season.

Lewis Hamilton trades curbs for the court playing basketball with actors James Marsden and Simu Liu
Lewis Hamilton trades curbs for the court as he plays basketball with actors James Marsden and Simu Liu in Miami ahead of this weekend's Grand Prix... amid speculation over the World Champion's future Lewis Hamilton hit the courts in Miami as Grand Prix weekend approaches  Rumors about a move to Ferrari have swirled since last weekend in Azerbaijan  DailyMail.com provides all the latest international sports news  By Jake Fenner For Dailymail.Com Published: 17:15 EDT, 3 May 2023 | Updated: 17:15 EDT, 3 May 2023 Sir Lewis Hamilton was seen taking to the court with sponsor IWC in Florida just ahead of this weekend's Miami Grand Prix. At a sponsorship event for the luxury watch company, Hamilton was spotted on a branded court with a large sign of the driver behind one of the hoops. Joining him at this event were other IWC sponsored people - including Hollywood actors James Marsden and Simu Liu. Hamilton is preparing for the 2023 Miami Grand Prix - the second year that the race has been held at the Miami International Autodrome. It's been a season of struggles for the seven time World Champion - who remains steadfast in his search for an eighth crown - as he's failed to finish atop the podium so far. Mercedes F1 driver Sir Lewis Hamilton was spotted playing basketball in Miami on Wednesday Hamilton is in Florida for this weekend's Miami Grand Prix, but did a promo event for IWC Hamilton appeared alongside Hollywood actors James Marsden (L) and Simu Liu (R) Hamilton's last victory in Formula One came all the way back at the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix - before a controversial decision at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi cost him an eighth crown. While he couldn't find wins last season, he still managed multiple podium finishes - including five P2 results and four P3 finishes. That led to him finishing the year in sixth position. This season looks on track to be more of the same for the British racing legend - with only the only podium finish to his name so far coming with a P2 in Australia. He finished P5 in the first two rounds of the season at Bahrain and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia before finishing P6 in Azerbaijan. Struggles to find results have plagued both Mercedes drivers as Hamilton's teammate George Russell has finished P7 in Bahrain, P4 in Saudi Arabia, P8 in Azerbaijan and crashing out in Australia. Hamilton looks to be far behind the leaders of the field - with Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez seemingly outclassing him in a better car each weekend. That, coupled with Hamilton's contract expiring at the end of the season, has led to speculation regarding his future. F1 fans were aflutter on social media when images of Hamilton speaking to Ferrari team principle Fred Vasseur spun the rumor mill. Hamilton has been struggling this season and speculation about his future has grown He was spotted speaking to Ferrari Team Principal Frederic Vasseur in Azerbaijan last week With Hamilton still seeking another world title, rumors suggest that he could head elsewhere Hamilton is out of contract at his current Mercedes team at the end of the season Additionally, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff said that Ferrari's golden boy Charles Leclerc is 'on [our] radar'. But Wolff has also said that he isn't willing to speak to other drivers or form a 'Plan B' if Hamilton departs. Unlike Hamilton's current deal, Leclerc's contract runs until the end of the 2024 season. The pair will face off against the rest of the field in Miami Gardens this weekend - with Hamilton sitting fourth in the driver's championship and Leclerc in sixth. It's an event that Leclerc won pole at last season, but he only managed a P3 finish behind Perez and Verstappen.  Share or comment on this article: Lewis Hamilton trades curbs for the court, playing basketball with actors James Marsden and Simu Liu via Formula One | Mail Online https://www.dailymail.co.uk?ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&ito=1490

Know your right as a Property Owner in Dubai
Being a property owner in Dubai comes with some rights and liabilities. Every landlord should know and understand these rights to help problems with their tenants.
As a landlord, renting out your property without considering these rights may lead to unborn problems with your tenants. In Dubai, the landlords have numerous rights on their parcels, whether a tenant lives there or not.
Tumblr media
RERA – The Real Estate Regulatory Agency- in Dubai has designed some laws to show the rights and liabilities of landlords to help manage misconstructions and controversies.
According to the RERA law
the landlord should insure that the property is in a good, inhabitable state before handing it over to the tenant.
the landlord must be responsible for all conservation works and repairs of the property to insure that the life of the tenant isn't in peril throughout the contract unless they both come to an agreement according to Composition 16
When making changes or revamping a property as a landlord, you mustn't affect your tenant’s use of a similar property. still, if the tenant granted the addition request, the landlord may go ahead and do the repairs according to what's stated in Article 17.
Furnishing a safe terrain
As a landlord, you should give a safe terrain for your tenant. So, you should insure that all doors and windows are securely locked, install arms and give the essential effects for an ideal home. A safe terrain also means that there should be no ongoing construction or repairs of the property after your tenant moves in.

Clean property
Before the appearance of a tenant, it's your right to insure that the property is clean and suitable for a tenant to move by. For oil and cleaning, the former tenant should be responsible. still, if this isn’t possible, the property owner should keep the property clean and in perfect condition according to the residency contract.
Conservation
The landlord’s right is to maintain the property. still, you’re only responsible for conservation that goes over Dh500 as a landlord.
You don't have to pay for minor wear and tear and gash conservation as a landlord. You don’t also have the right to pay for damages that may be caused by the tenant’s abuse or neglectfulness.
Your right of conservation as a landlord includes conservation repairs similar to plumbing, electrical, air-exertion, mechanical faults or problems, and other significant repairs that may bear over Dh500.
Security deposit
Property owners are entitled to security deposits from their tenants. So, when you’re offered a security deposit, you want cash and keep it safe until the end of the contract with your tenant. Property owners collect this security deposit to cover the cost of damages or payments not made by tenants during the contract period.
That’s why it’s essential to cashing out the deposit before the expiry date. However, you'll have to deal with any repairs and damages on your own when the tenant vacates the property If it expires. Still, the security deposit would have to be returned at the end of their residency agreement, If the tenant didn't damage the property in any way and left it in perfect condition.
Return of Security Deposit
still, your right as a landlord is to return the security deposit made by the tenant on the morning of the residency contract, If your tenant leaves your property in good condition. However, it'll be overlooked as long as huge freights aren't needed for their form, If there's minor wear and tear and gash.
Tumblr media
To determine if your tenant is named to their security deposit or not after their residency contract, you need to have a thorough look and check the property as soon as the tenant is ready to leave. With this, you'll be suitable to determine if the security deposit is worth returning or not.

Clear Means of Communication
Your right is to give the tenant a clear means of communicating with them in case of extremities. When you travel, you should give your tenant with an easy way to communicate you or a contact they can fluently reach when the need arises.
still, you can give contact your trusted and preferred conservation company for repairs or damages that can’t stay, If you’d be traveling for a long time or don't want to be disturbed. With this, you rest assured that your property can be fluently repaired when the need arises. Also, your tenant won't have to use a conservation company you don't authorize or struggle to get a good conservation company.
Home Insurance
Home insurance is veritably necessary and salutary to your property. You don’t want a situation where you'll have to pay for every damage when your insurance company can cover the utmost of it. So, it's your right as a landlord to give home insurance for your property.

S.N.A.F.U CH65-‘Reaching’
Eadaoin gave Michael’s hand a squeeze and flashed the personal trainer a smile as he got to his feet and adjusted his suit jacket.  He returned the smile and confidently strode to the front of the court where he was sworn in by the court bailiff.
“Thanks for taking the time to be here today Michael,” Darren began “could you please begin by telling the court how you came to know Mr Ricciardo?”
“We met on the first day of year seven at Newman College in Perth,” Michael replied a barely detectable tremor in his voice “we were assigned to the same homeroom and became fast friends from the beginning.”
“And could you please describe the nature of your relationship now?”
“Personal or professional?”
“Both if you wouldn’t mind.”
“Well personally we’re each other’s best mate right from our school days we’ve studied together, travelled together, did a bit of karting together-though I only ever did it for fun Danny was all abut being a professional driver right from when I first met him and even when he left school and went to Europe to race and I remained home in Perth to go to uni we kept in touch, he would travel home to visit when he could and I would travel to Europe when he was unable to because of racing.  Professionally I’m his personal trainer and performance coach and have been since the beginning of two thousand eighteen.”
“And what does your job entail?”
“Primarily I manage his fitness and nutrition regime,” Michael replied “based on the length of the F1 season and location of the races I devise an exercise regime and associated nutrition program that maximizes his physical and mental ability to be a formula one driver.”
“So would you say you know Mr Ricciardo well?”
“Yeah I like to think I do.” Michael replied “and I’m sure he would say the same about me.”
“Would you describe him as an emotional person?”
“Yes and no,” Michael replied “it depends on the situation, for as long as I’ve known Danny he’s worn his heart on his sleeve he’s a private person and only lets a select few into his circle but he trusts those in it implicitly. It’s only the people in that circle that knows the real Daniel Ricciardo.  Its only when that trust is broken that he’ll become upset.”
“Can you think of any examples in the entire time you’ve known Danny that he’s become upset under the circumstances you described?”
“Only twice,” Michael replied “back in two thousand sixteen when his pit crew messed up his pit stop at the Monaco GP.  A lot of people thought he would win the race that year and to this day are convinced that’s what cost him the win.  Afterwards he was absolutely filthy and refused to talk to anyone including me for half an hour after the race.  And even though I wasn’t his trainer at the time I convinced him to take his rage out in a sparring session and despite his physical exhaustion we boxed hard for twenty minutes.  And the second time was after the 2020 Abu Dhabi GP after party when he caught Jemma in the company of Cyril.  I’ve never seen anyone so absolutely devastated about what happened.  While Max escorted him back to the hotel I went through the Renault garage and his trailer and driver’s room gathering up all his possessions so he wouldn’t have to return to the track and do it himself.”
“And in all the time you’ve known Danny have you ever known him to act aggressively when drunk?”
“Absolutely one hundred percent no,” Michael replied emphatically “not even in the ball park of aggressive or violent like he’s been accused of.  Danny’s a happy drunk, he’s more likely to lay down on a couch and fall asleep or get up and dance badly when drunk.  I’ve known him the longest out of everyone in his circle of friends and I’ve never known him to be violent or aggressive period drunk or sober.  The last time I saw him drunk was at Eadaoin’s birthday party in Austin and all he did then was watch her sing or sit in the corner kissing her.”
Furtively Eadaoin looked over at Jem and noted with a certain amount of glee that the other woman’s face had darkened with fury.  She smiled and gave Max’s hand a squeeze jerking her head in the other woman’s direction.
“She doesn’t like that Michael saw me and Danny kissing in Austin,” she whispered.
“You should snog him before things finish today,” the young Dutchman said with a chuckle “one of those pornographic ones you always do.”
Eadaoin rolled her eyes and elbowed her friend.
“You’re terrible Max!”
“So would it be accurate to say you disagree with every allegation Miss Boskovich has made?”
“Yes absolutely one hundred percent.  I think anyone that’s spent any meaningful time with him would think the same too.”
“Very well, thankyou for your candor Michael, m’lady I have finished questioning the witness.”
“Very well, Mr Albrecht do you have any questions?”
“I do m’lady,” Albrecht said getting to his feet “Mr Italiano how long has your relationship with Mr Ricciardo been sexual?”
Darren hadn’t even resumed his seat before he whipped around and bellowed.
“OBJECTION!  That question is neither relevant or any of my learned friend’s business!” he exclaimed as a mixture of what the fuck’s and gasps of incredulity rose from the Daniel’s friends and colleagues.
“I agree,” Justice Wickstead said sternly tapping the gavel on the bench on front of her “objection sustained Mr Albrecht you will retract that question and refrain from asking more of a similar nature understood?”
“Of course m’lady.” Albrecht replied a barely discernable smirk forming on his lips.
“Why d'you want to know if the relationship Danny and I have is sexual?” Michael asked “I’ve already stated the nature of our relationship both professional and personal.  That should be sufficient information for you.”
“I only ask Mr Italiano because if you and Mr Ricciardo enjoyed a more personal relationship you could be seen as biased in your evaluation of his nature,” Albrecht replied “as in you’d be more likely to be ignore any let’s say negative traits he has than someone not involved with him in such a manner.”
“What the hell have you been telling him?” Michael asked Jem incredulously leaning sideways to address Jem directly “What the actual hell have you been telling him?  Jesus for the record Mr Albrecht never once in the twenty one years I have known Danny has our relationship ever been sexual; it hasn’t ever been in the ball park of sexual.  And not that it’s any of your or your client’s business but I am very heterosexual and so is Danny.  Anyone who says otherwise is either jealous or deluded....likely both.”
“Are you calling me deluded?” Jem shrilled leaping to her feet “you fuck-”
The clamor was interrupted Justice Wickstead slamming her gavel down on her bench.
“SILENCE!” she bellowed “Miss Boskovich SIT DOWN!  It is NOT your turn to speak and mind your language!  Mr Albrecht it’s high time you reminded your client the procedure when it comes to court room etiquette.  Her behaviour has been undesirable to say the least”
“Yes m’lady,” Albrecht replied turning and giving Jemma a death glare “sit down.” He added to her with a hiss.
“Can we move on?” Michael asked in clipped tones “unlike some I’m actually here to be truthful about the plaintiff and if my presence is no longer required on the stand I’d like to return to the gallery to give one of his other friends or colleagues the opportunity to tell their story.”
“I’ve finished questioning the witness for now m’lady,” Albrecht said addressing Justice Wickstead directly in a sickeningly sweet tone that made Eadaoin inwardly gag.
“Alright then, Mr Cook do you have anyone else you’d like to call to the stand?”
“Yes m’lady now I’d like to call Mr Max Emilian Verstappen to the stand.”
Max gave Eadaoin’s hand one more squeeze before leaning down to whisper in her ear.
“Don’t worry I’ve got this,” he murmured.
“Thanks Max.”
Michael returned to the gallery patting Max on the shoulder as they passed each other.  He then took his spot beside Eadaoin and grasped her hand again.
“Thank you for that,” she murmured “it meant a lot to hear you stand up for Danny like that.”
“No worries luv.”
Max made his way to the stand and was sworn in before sitting down.
“Thanks for coming in today Max,” Darren began “for the benefit of the court would you please tell us when you first met Mr Ricciardo?.”
“At the end of the twenty fifteen season,” Max replied “after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix I was doing some post season testing for what was then Toro Rosso and was introduced to him in the Red Bull garage by Christian.  At the time there was no plans for me to drive for Red Bull main but with Toro Rosso being a feeder team for Red Bull Christian thought it best I meet everyone at Red Bull in the event I ended up in the main team.”
“And how would you describe the relationship between you two?”
“Back then it was just work associates, we drove for different teams, had different engineers and different pit crews so we rarely associated outside activities directly related to our jobs.  I didn’t have my road car license and I was too young to drink so I rarely went out with the older drivers socially until the end of the twenty sixteen season by which time I had turned eighteen and had transferred into the Red Bull main team.  From there we enjoyed a friendly relationship despite the gap in our ages.  We’ve become really good mates especially since he left Red Bull; we socialize more now than we did when we drove for the same team.  We often work out together when we’re both in Monaco, go out for meals, and play squash or tennis etcetera.  Our girlfriends have become good friends and I’m proud to say now Daniel is one of my best friends too.”
“Lovely to hear, lovely to hear, now if you wouldn’t mind giving your assessment of Daniel’s character as both a drunk and sober person?”
“Sure, when he’s drunk he’s the life of the party, he’ll get up and sing badly....”
The public gallery laughed heartily, the only people remaining stony faced was Jem and Albrecht.
“He’ll dance, sing talk loudly and most of all when he’s drunk he’ll think he can solve all the world’s problems, he turns into a philosopher,” Max said with a grin “he tells the greatest stories and is the best party host.”
“And sober?”
“As a sober person he’s the guy everyone should and would want as a friend, he cares for those less fortunate than him donates to several social justice causes and once I saw him stop traffic so a duck and her ducklings could cross the road safely.  He loves and provides for his family and friends like no other person I’ve seen and I’ve literally never seen a man as in love with their woman as he is with Eadaoin. The minute she came into his life he was a goner.  Everyone at the track teased him about being a love struck idiot.  Essentially he’s a kind, decent and caring person the absolute opposite of what the defendant is accusing him of.”
“Thank you for that assessment,” Darren said “now in his statement to the court Mr Italiano referenced the evening of December thirteenth twenty twenty the evening upon which Daniel found Miss Boskovich in the company of Mr Abiteboul, you were present at the same function that night would you be so kind as to give your version of events?”
“Where do you want me to start?”
“From the beginning if you would, recall to the best of your ability.”
“Well after the final race of the season and post season testing all the teams and their staff had a pitlane party at the Yas Marina circuit,” Max began “there was a DJ plenty of alcohol and a good vibe going.  All the drivers had their friends, family or significant other in town and we all gathered at the track for a good night of partying it had been a long and hard season and we were all relived that it was over and we could relax.  The party had been going for three or four hours and we were all having a great time.  I was in front of the Mercedes garage talking to Valtteri when I heard a shrill scream from a woman and a bellowing yell from a man further down the pitlane, I took off at a run and followed the sound that was coming from the Renault garage and ran inside to see the defendant with her underwear around her ankles, Cyril in a corner with his jeans around his ankles, blood pouring out of his nose and Danny in front of him with a tyre iron in his hand looking like he was about to hit him with it.  He would have if Valtteri, Lewis, Toto, Christian and I hadn’t pulled him away. It took all our combined strength to pull Danny away.  I’ve never ever seen him that upset in the entire time I’ve known him.”
“Would you say Danny was angry?”
“Yes, no?” Max replied “devastated is the word I would say is most accurate, he was crying but angry as well.  If I had been in his position I would feel angry that another man had been with my partner and I’d also feel angry that that man had been with my partner, especially my boss.  Danny and Cyril used to have quite a good personal and working relationship.  They used to socialize outside of work, they’d work out together, sometimes I’d join them and often they’d go out for a meal as well.”
“At any point did you see Danny hit or make contact with Mr Abiteboul?”
“No, the most I saw was his hand on Cyril’s chest pushing him up against a rack of ratchet guns.  He may have hit him prior to my arrival in the garage but I didn’t see it happen.”
On the other side of the courtroom Jemma rolled her eyes and audibly huffed.
“So to the best of your knowledge you don’t know how Mr Abiteboul’s nose came to be bleeding that night?”
“That is correct.”
“Oh come ON!” Jemma exclaimed in a carrying whisper.
“And at any point during your time in the Renault garage did Daniel express any desire to physically strike Mr Abiteboul?”
“No, all he said was “Let me at him” or “get off me” when we-Valtteri, Lewis, Toto, Christian and I held him back from lunging at him.”
“Did at any point in your time in the Renault garage did Daniel express any desire to physically strike Miss Boskovich?”
Max shook his head.
“No, he didn’t speak to her at all; the only communication they shared was a look of disgust on Daniel’s part.  I don’t think he knew what to say or even if he trusted himself to say anything.” He said “as I said earlier, he looked devastated.”
“And what happened after that?”
“Valtteri, Lewis and I dragged Daniel out of the garage and by then Michael had arrived, we told him what happened and he instructed me to take Danny back to the hotel, I did that and from there I called Robert the Renault team doctor because his right wrist was swollen.”
“And did Danny say what cause that swelling in his wrist?”
“No all he kept saying was he wanted to smash Cyril’s face in over and over and over until Robert arrive to assess his condition.”
“At any point did you think he would ‘smash Cyril’s face in’?”
“Seriously?  No he may have been angry about catching his boss in a compromising situation with his girlfriend but I never honestly thought he would do it.  I’ve never seen or even heard of him hitting anyone in that manner in all my time in F1.”
“Hmm thanks for your candor this morning Max it’s been extraordinarily helpful, I’ve finished questioning the witness m’lady.”
“Mr Albrecht would you like to question the witness?”
Albrecht got to his feet just as Darren sat down.
“I would m’lady,” he said “Mr Verstappen have you ever been to the Ricciardo family farm in Australia?”
“Yes.”
“When?”
“Winter break two thousand seventeen into eighteen so January two thousand eighteen.”
“And what did you do during your stay?”
To Eadaoin Max looked bored and she noted in amusement the young Dutchman barely hid an eyeroll.
“The usual thing one does when on holiday, I went to the beach, Daniel took me on a fishing and scuba diving trip with some of his Australian friends, I helped out his parents with farm chores, we worked out the usual stuff.”
“And nothing extraordinary or unusual happened during your stay?”
“No?  Nothing I would consider extraordinary or unusual anyway.”
“So you wouldn’t consider being punched by you in your words ‘good mate’ and breaking your nose extraordinary or unusual especially in a holiday setting?”
Max did actually roll his eyes at this question.
“No not really,” he said dismissively, shrugging his shoulders “not in the context of the situation no.”
“I hardly think that’s relevant Mr Verstappen-”
“Yeah actually it is,” Max returned in clipped toes “what did you client tell you about the incident?”
“That’s of no concern to you Mr Verstappen facts are there is evidence to suggest that Mr Ricciardo has violent tendencies and has violently assaulted someone other than my client clearly displaying a less than squeaky clean character!”
“Oh my god for fu-” Max muttered cutting himself off “are you actually for real?”
“I hardly think that attitude is appropriate for the courtroom Mr Verstappen.”
“Yeah well neither is lying and there is actual evidence to suggest your client’s been doing that isn’t there?” Max exclaimed in annoyed exasperation “you really are reaching for any scrap of proof Daniel is a violent alcoholic abuser aren’t you?  Let me tell you-”
“I have it on good authority-”
“Excuse me I have given you the courtesy of not interrupting you thus far I would appreciate it if you could do the same....alright?”
There was a long and awkward silence and all Albrecht could do is nod.
“I’ll start from the beginning and tell you every single fact of the story seeing and you don’t appear to be getting it from your client,” Max said in annoyance “on that day in question Daniel and I had been working out, under Michael’s instruction and we all decided to do some sparring.  I was wearing focus pads and Daniel was wearing gloves, we were going back and forth learning correct form and technique and had worked up quite a sweat and Daniel came at me with an upper cut and his glove slipped off my focus pad, through my hands and got my nose.  I knew immediately it had broken and it straight away started bleeding. Michael immediately rendered first aid and Daniel immediately began apologizing.  Michael couldn’t stop the bleeding so ordered Daniel to go inside and call an ambulance.  Mrs Ricciardo came out onto the deck and helped Michael make sure I was comfortable and when the ambulance arrived Daniel was the one who rode in the ambulance with me to hospital.  He was the one who stood aside and told the doctors at the hospital what happened and sat with me whilst I waited for a specialist to examine me.  I was unable to speak so he was the one that rang my both my parents, sister and girlfriend at the time to let them know what was happening and stayed with me till I was examined by the specialist after which it was determined I required surgery.  He paid for the surgery, was the first to visit me post surgery and was the one to keep my family updated until I was lucid enough to do it myself.  He even drove me home from hospital when I was discharged.  Then he re-organised his own flight schedule when it came time to go back to Europe and made sure he could sit with me til we were back in Monaco, he even wanted me to stay at his apartment to make sure I was going to be alright but by that stage, despite still wearing bandages I was fine to be alone.  He still insisted on going to my follow up medical appointments til I was given the all clear to resume normal activities.  Your client wasn’t even at the farm that day.  She was over fifty kilometers away in Perth and had been away for two days, she didn’t even return to the farm for til the next morning!  Does that sound like a violent alcoholic abuser to you?  It doesn’t to any right thinking person in the room today. What happened was a pure accident and in no way shape or form intentional, No matter how hard you try no one in this room, in the F1 paddock or anyone who has ever spent any meaningful time with him will ever say anything bad about Daniel, he’s a good guy, a true friend a decent person-everything your client isn’t.  He isn’t the person your client and yourself are making him out to be.  If you had been told the truth you’d realize that.”
There as a deafening silence as everyone in the court room digested Max’s speech, even Jem sat in her seat her mouth open in shock.
“D'you have any more questions for the witness Mr Albrecht?” Justice Wickstead asked.
“Er....um no m’lday I have no further questions.” The barrister replied stiffly.
“Alright, Mr Verstappen you can step down from the stand and I’m going to call for a short recess of two hours so we can all go and get some lunch and decompress a little,” Jutice Wickstead announced as Max returned to the public gallery “let’s all convene back here at one thirty PM sharp.”

IREDA's Gandhinagar office to boost green hydrogen and renewable energy manufacturing projects
Tumblr media
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) has opened an office in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, specialising in offering debt options denominated in foreign currencies. This initiative aims to enable natural hedging and substantially decrease financing costs for Green Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Manufacturing projects, thereby supporting India's shift towards a more sustainable future. The announcement was made by IREDA's Chairperson & Managing Director, Pradip Kumar Das, during a panel discussion on "Future Growth Opportunities for Long Duration Energy Storage" at the World Future Energy Summit 2024 in Abu Dhabi on April 17, 2024. Das emphasised the critical role of energy storage in achieving the National Green Hydrogen Mission's ambitious target of over 5 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) of hydrogen production by 2030. He outlined key priorities for advancing storage technologies, including enhancing research and development efforts to reduce costs and improve performance, implementing policies to strengthen the supply chain network, and providing competitive financial solutions to encourage investment in energy storage projects. India has undertaken several initiatives in this direction, including formulating a storage requirement roadmap up to 2047, issuing technology-agnostic storage tenders, and implementing supportive government interventions for battery manufacturing and pumped storage hydropower projects. The Central Electricity Authority of India forecasts a storage demand of close to 400 gigawatt-hours (GWh) by 2030-32, necessitating an estimated investment of over Rs 3.5 lakh crore. IREDA has been a pioneer in renewable energy financing, offering innovative products for emerging technologies at competitive rates, and is committed to supporting the deployment of energy storage technologies in India.
