I just finished listening to your INCREDIBLE playlist for HDG, and it's... did I already say incredible? It is very incredible. Wildly eclectic in all the best possible ways. I was SO PLEASED to see Babylon Zoo and Kula Shaker in particular! APPARENTLY the lyrics are "place your hands on my hope" but I have been singing "on my hole" for so fucking long and I will not change now. Those are the real lyrics as far as I’m concerned. Re: writing to music - it depends on my mood! When I am struggling to get words down I definitely think it helps to focus me in the right ‘tone’. For NETG I used that miserable playlist a LOT lmao. Sometimes I get overexcited though and have to ‘dance around my room’ - a thing I have done my entire life and is not dancing at all, rather me hurtling from one end of my room to another, grinning madly as the made up people in my head do things I want them to.

I always try and convince myself I can listen to music while I study. This is always a lie. One day I’ll grow out of it, but not today

Leaving her family drama behind as she begins to suffer from loneliness. Her past exploits will have apparently inspired a new generation of Tomb Raiders and Lara will allegedly team up with a group of raiders to face a mysterious cataclysm.

Casting looking for “authentic British” actress in their mid-30s “in the prototype of Emily Blunt or Rosamund Pike

The role will involve “romantic scenes with another female character”.

Again, keep in mind this is just rumors so take it with A LOT of salt. The only thing that has been officially confirmed in is the next Tomb Raider installment is being worked on using Unreal Engine 5 back in April 2022 (x).

This crossover got me last night, assassin's creed × Tomb Raider (2000's remake). It just really catches my attention and makes me go "yeah that kinda checks, hilarious as fuck if Desmond (and possibly his ancestors) going all over the world trying his ass off to make this woman to stop tampering with all this isu and non-isu bullshit and lara thinks he's after them for personal gain."

For me it works bc Desmond gets dragged into so much bs he's just tired and wants humanity to stop messing with these things meanwhile, lara is over here exploring and sadly it goes along the lines of her looking for trouble or trouble comes looking for her.

But I'd like to hear your take on this crossover

It would even be funnier if Lara never knew him as Desmond Miles.

In this scenario, Desmond is actually retired from all the Assassin-Templar BS and is focused on making sure no one is misusing the POEs or have any access to any Isu-related tech or location. So, while Lara has been getting experience (and into trouble), he’d been off taking care of the POEs under Abstergo’s and Assassin's control.

They only start to meet when Desmond starts on his quest to find POEs and Isu-related locations that are still ‘lost’.

So when they first met, Lara is already sorta-kinda famous by her own rights (more or less being somewhere between her Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider period). This way, Lara would have more experience than say if we were going for her Tomb Raider characterization (although Lara and Desmond being allies to survive the shipwreck and all other fuckery on the island would be fun too) and have her focus on solving the puzzles of the world (since Shadow did end with Lara realizing she’s supposed to protect them, not just… solve them).

So in Lara’s eyes, Desmond’s just this dude that always comes in and tries to stop Lara from getting an artifact or finding a lost location. Whenever she asks for a name, Desmond just gives her one of the names of his ancestors because, as far as Desmond was concerned, she’s some rich human who likes to touch things she shouldn’t be touching. There’s gonna be tension between them, that’s for sure, and, most of the time, they’d ally with one another because the other people out for the same thing are not good guys.

Unorganized Notes:

They won’t necessarily be buddy-buddies. At most, they’d end up being allies who have their own agenda. The closest they could be would probably be more in line with Nate and Chloe’s relationship at the start of Uncharted 2.

Speaking of Nate, Desmond likes to use the name Nathan Drake as a reference to how Francis Drake was sorta doing the same thing he was doing right now. In this scenario, we’ll say Francis Drake was an Assassin ally as well considering how Elizabeth I was an ally of the Brotherhood.

Lara knowing Desmond’s real name will be some kind of big moment to show that Desmond does trust Lara in some way.

Will their relationship be romantic in some way? Probably. Probably not. They’re gonna have one of those ‘calling it complicated is an understatement’ kinds of relationship. They do care for one another but their differing priorities will always make it hard for them to be completely on the same side.

Trinity is part of the Templar Order but is separate from Abstergo itself. They barely tolerate one another but both Trinity and Abstergo answer to the Inner Sanctum. The High Council of the Trinity answers directly to the Inner Sanctum and one of the Inner Sanctum members may or may have been a Trinity member before.

Desmond doesn’t know any of that though and he believes the Trinity is just one more asshole organization that is out there to give him a headache. At best, he assumes Trinity is a Templar Order that separated from Abstergo once Abstergo started focusing on profit and controlling the world using money. (He’s wrong though)

Desmond has been to the Croft Manor… Uninvited… in the middle of the night… to steal some Isu artifacts or destroy them. Lara has not yet forgiven him for that one.

So from what I've determined! Agent Schloder is in my mind a pretty good target for a redemption arc. His sister, though, I'm thinking she's gonna be the other main antagonist in this series.

Actually lemme just explain how i think the villain set up is going to be for Agent Croft and Dr Meridian. She's the resources and the mysterious benefactors, he's the shady laboratory and the one who does the dirty work.

Together, they will and have hurt many mecha. And people, I'm betting. That seeker fight in the beginning of Age of Evolution? Yeah, in hindsight that feels so very set up to make the world afraid of transformers. They didn't give a fuck that there were civilians present, kids present. In fact, back in Classified, that one agent was prepared to shoot down what he thought was a Decepticon with a kid. There's the bot brawls that were definitely very not safe for mecha and humans alike. I can name a million safety liabilities in the design and management of the GHOST headquarters. There's Mandroid, who in hindsight must have looked like a ticking timebomb enough to be hidden in an offsite lab to wreak havoc somewhere where GHOST can deny affiliation.

hello. have you heard about Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness Restoration Project? what do you think of it? i get the feeling that it isn't something you would enjoy but i am curious about your thoughts on it. thank you.

Hi! Due to big changes in my personal life, I'm now disconnected from TR fandom and unaware of the last ongoing news unless someone like you come and tell me. Also because most of the active fandom has moved from this website to Twitter and I have not an account there (and I refuse to have one). So I wasn't aware of this restoration project.

For what I've seen is a fanmade project of patches and mods to get the game to be more operational and playable for the fandom. I can't see why I would not enjoy something like this, encouraging fandom to try, replay and keep enjoying this game. I think, from my outter ignorance of the events, that anything made by fandom to bring TRAOD back to the board is a good initiative and, in the fact, the only and last hope for TR classic fans in this franchise.

Unfortunately nothing makes me think I'll have time anytime soon to try this project or simply replay the old version of the game, which, admittedly, was never a big problem for me. (Well, maybe Boaz's fight...)

How was your Tomb raider experience (game) ? Did you play all 3 of them ?

I played TR 2013 and Rise back in early 2018 on PS4 and enjoyed them both a lot. I bought Shadow way back in 2019 but didn't start and finish till now (PC) 🤣 Then, I realize there's camera tools for Rise so I replayed it for pics and still enjoy it. I was bummed while playing on the PS4 that I couldn't take pics back then; now I'm all giddy about the pics I took, quite proud of them actually 😩💖 If you like a perfect mix of actions, tomb raiding, reading historical artifacts in between puzzles, the reboot trilogy is a must play! I can't comment on the older games because I didn't grow up with them and still haven't played them 😅

How would Ezio react to meeting Lara Croft?

This could work well with the Desmond x Tomb Raider crossover idea ask I got before.

In this case, instead of Desmond being a one-man team with his Bleeds helping out (maybe like The Helios Job sort of Bleed setup), Desmond is a member of a four-man team with Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton who are focused on finding and retrieving (or destroying) Isu artifacts.

Your choice if they were reborn into the modern day era with or without their memories or if they’re actually the real deal that got yanked from their time to Desmond’s time during the Solar Flare.

Anyway, for this one, we’ll focus on how Ezio would react to meeting Lara Croft.

If this Ezio had been yanked from his time, he’d probably be momentarily stunned for a moment if we’re talking about the fashion sense of a Lara Croft from the original or legends timeline. If this is the survivor timeline (like the previous ask I got), he’d probably be momentarily stunned by how young and reckless she is. Ezio who was reborn and grew up in the modern-day era (with or without his memories) would think Lara is both beautiful and respect her skills and tenacity but will also be slightly worried about survival-timeline!Lara as he thinks no one should do this sort of thing alone.

Regardless of which Lara Ezio meets and his own backstory for this idea, he would be the friendliest of the four (Desmond being the second friendliest but he does have trust issues targetted at everyone not Ezio and the others). He’d also be the type to casually flirt with Lara, nothing serious and, while he does think Lara is attractive, he’s not trying to pursue her. It’s half because he’s a natural flirt and half because he can see Lara thinks his flirting is amusing and he wants Lara to relax a bit since it’s clear that she’s very tense.

They would definitely be allies and can even form a friendship of some sort but, when the time comes, Ezio would be willing to get in Lara’s way so that they would be the one to take the Isu artifact.

Would he tell Lara the truth?

Hhhhmmm…

Not in the beginning. “Do not compromise” the Brotherhood is important to him and he’s not just risking himself if he does tell Lara the truth but everyone he cares about and loves.

Once they start to get to know each other and develop some kind of close relationship (either friendship or romantic is up to you), that’s probably when Ezio would tell her the truth. But I honestly see Ezio telling his team first that he wishes to tell Lara the truth and making it clear that if they don’t agree with it, he won’t. They probably would because they trust Ezio though XD

Until Percy Jackson disappears and for some reason she feels like she has to help. She goes with Annabeth to the Wilderness School and retrieves Jason Grace, Piper McLean, and Leo Valdez. A new frenemy, new crush, and new best friend all in one trip as she gets involved in the side of her demigod life she swore she wasn't going to get involved in after the war.
