"Real Visual Kei" only consists of the Nagoya-kei punk rock scene and the late 90's Kote-kei scene. What is known by "Neo Visual-kei" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable Visual Kei influence. When people try to argue that bands like An Cafe are not real Visual Kei, while saying that The GazettE is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake V-kei as The GazettE (plus the pretentiousness). Real Visual Kei sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake V-kei is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL V-KEI are Buck-Tick, Luna Sea, Dir en Grey (the only real V-kei band from the loud kei scene) and X Japan. Some examples of FAKE V-KEI are DADAROMA, An Cafe and Mejibray VISUAL KEI BELONGS TO PUNK ROCK NOT TO ELECTRONIC, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE
