DEMO TEASER ALMOST FULLY CODED LETS GOOO

remember the video game adaption I mentioned? well, i've been working on it lately.

it's going to be a teaser demo. That's the first 5-10 minutes depending on how fast you run through the dialogue. No gameplay really yet, choices (based on the comic's asks) will come in once Chara's around.

i'm only adapting up to when Chara pulls a zombie move and yoinks themself half way up out of the ground but.. it's been coming along great! it's shockingly amazing how fast I can get this all done... helps considering it's 99% cutscenes atm.

i've just got the above scene, one small cutscene, and the main menu/settings to code. Then portraits (honestly the biggest hurdle, that's a lot of art to be done) and a couple of overworld sprites.

I've gotten someone to help with the music (this isn't a proper devlog, I plan on properly crediting and showing off the music w/ permission soon) and its almost all remixes of the canon music for the canon-based scenes. since its a short demo teaser, i only need 2 tracks and a audio stinger left.

like, oh my gosh. i'll probably release this thing in like a week or two. (depending on how long the portraits take, i have no idea. code wise i'll be done in 1-3 days depending on how busy i am)

#ramblings #the difficulty spikes. why #i'm still baffled at how difficult it is even on easy mode like. the main game was nothing like this #and like the platforming challenges and stuff don't feel well designed #like idk that much abt level design but they platforming stuff usually feels more like those super hard levels ppl mod into games like ahit #if feels almost unfair at points #like the towers i feel i can only do in easy mode with all the balloons i can homing attack #otherwise they'd just be straight up impossible #AND THE FUCKING BOSS RUSH? WHERE YOU CAN'T GET ANY RINGS? A powerful fixer in Night City, operating from the shadows and only known by their alias. Cold and ruthless, focused entirely on wreaking havoc in the existing mercenary world by planting seeds of distrust and paranoia, to pit everyone up against each other. While their interference is still minimal, the long-term consequences can be felt in every corner of the city.

Once a powerful Arasaka asset, the Broker has access to a tight network of assassins- a few highly skilled killers who serve as their security network, all ex-Arasaka as well. Through connections they also have an entire division of Militech in their pocket, and the NCPD tends to turn them a blind eye.

The Broker is a horrible fixer, presenting themself as "one of the good guys" and luring mercs in with eddies and empty promises. With their charismatic nature, they're able to use the backstabbing and corruption in Night City's underworld as a tool to manipulate mercs into thinking no one can be trusted and the entire network has to be destroyed for good, and they themself are the only person in the whole city they can trust; this way, their mercs end up developing a strange dependency on them, meaning they'll do anything they tell them to do without giving it a second thought.

Though once the Broker has lured the mercs in, they stop paying them well and give them little support while they do all their dirty work, uncaring about what happens to them and whether or not they'll make it out alive. The mercs are mere tools to the Broker to achieve their long-term goals, and they even take pride in killing those who dare to disagree with them- turning them into an example for others.

Some time after Vincent has been cured and is no longer actively dying, one of Vitali's cargo trucks is intercepted by a group of his old mercenaries- all people who felt betrayed and abandoned by him after his departure from Night City with Vincent about six months ago, when they left for Arizona in hopes to find a cure. The attack leaves Lauren, Eddie and Mikhail gravely injured and it can be traced back to the Broker; while it is still unclear what their deal with Vitali is, they now seem to be targeting him and his entire fixer network specifically.

ok ive finished the dlc so now i can properly say my least favourite thing about dragon age awakening is that the women feel like an afterthought & don't fit in the group at all. & i want to care about them & their banter so much. but i really don't because the game is giving me fucking nothing

She hasn’t driven anywhere other than to and from work in a long time, and the last few years of commutes have only been on the bus, so when Howie offers to drive, she happily lets him.

She fiddles with the radio as he pulls up a map on his phone, cycling through some country drawling and heated talk-show and settling on some cheery pop music. Howie grins and bobs his head as they pull out of the parking lot.

#okay power tool singular #i own one [1] cordless drill #but i just anchored two of our bookshelves to the walls yesterday and am angling to do another two today #this is part of the great horrible game of Rush Hour that is 'getting our apartment to the way we imagine it' #by we i mean i #since i have The Vision #i drew out the plans and my husband is on board 100% he just doesn't do that sort of visualising stuff ya see #but he's hauled boxes of books and horrible shelves from one room to the next for several hours already and we'll have to do it again #and i appreciate it so much #i finally have all the pieces to do ... almost all the shelves #i forgot one important piece that might require a field trip to our friends' basement #because one of the shelves will be sort-of-wall-mounted atop another shelf #and i don't want to overload the foundation shelf so i need to put reinforcing bars into the upper one #... and then drill THOSE into the wall. #and THEN i need to get some lumber and cut it down to size to set on the shelf arms i bought so we can have wall shelves #specifically in the gap forced by the air vent in the floor #don't wanna ruin household circulation #don't wanna lose precious wall space
