Duriavenator was yet another theropod that was originally assigned to Megalosaurus, which was a wastebasket taxon. It lived about 170 million years ago, in the Bajocian of the middle Jurassic period. It was found in England is known from partial remains. It, like other Megalosaurs, was a medium sized theropod, living in the island chains of Europe at that time.
