I SURE CAN but it's under the cut for dubcon reasons ♡

So this has been living in my head for like a year and a half at this point but I will consider it a WIP because TECHNICALLY I have written SOME words about it but honestly most of them have been used to torment @st-danger.

Anyway, the dubious handy is going to be a kinda angsty if/dew but also dewther fic that takes place in era 3, right when Things happen and the new lineup takes over. Dew meets Ifrit and there's attraction immediately, but Aether (they are together) warns Dew to stay away from him. That Ifrit's bad news, almost as bad as Alpha, but Dew has never been one to heed advice.

Despite that though, there's no time to do much about it. The new tour starts very soon and having to deal with a new lineup and all the preparations involved in that have everyone scrambling. There's some flirting, sure, but beyond that it's no more than swapped glances Dew being subjected to the sight of Ifrit humping his guitar every time Terzo turns around in rehearsals. On the road, they start their antics on stage, butting at each other like goats - it's Ifrit's idea to tease the kiss, and the tension builds.

Before they know it, half the tour is done. They're all having a well-deserved break - a night in the middle of nowhere, sharing beers around a hastily built campfire beside the bus. A little something that makes it feel like home. Dew's a little tipsy, leaning against Aether and listening to him talk to Zephyr, but his eyes keep drifting to Ifrit. Eventually he sets down his drinks and excuses himself, Aether giving his hand a squeeze. Gotta piss, he explains, shrugging on his leather jacket - it'll be chilly away from the fire - and Aether gives him a sage nod and a pat on the ass before he goes.

Dew shuffles his way behind the bus, swaying a bit as his boots crunch on the gravel. He doesn't have to go far to have privacy, and he can still hear the others chatting while he unzips. He's mid-piss when he hears crunching in the gravel behind him, and Dew sighs. Almost done, he says, but the footsteps continue. Heavier than his own, closer and closer, right behind him, and before Dew knows what's happening a large hand is batting his own out of the way, grabbing his still dribbling cock and starting to stroke.

In the distance, he hears Aether laugh, and when a too-warm breath hits his neck Dew chokes.

And then the dubious handy ensues, and it devolves into a whole internal struggle for Dew and he makes several Bad Decisions because of it.

He really should've listened to Aether.

Anyway, I really REALLY want to write this one, and I feel like when I get into a groove with it it'll come easily, but it just hasn't happened yet. 😔

His heart and stomach flutter, catapulting themselves up and down his body, when Eddie groans, his eyebrows scrunching together and the fullness of his lips returned. “What are you doing now?” Eddie asks, suddenly looking so young and scared, his hand covering Buck’s and trapping it against his chest.

It’s nice how parts of themselves always find their way to each other, like magnets have been buried in their blood, insistently tugging them toward one another.

“Mmm, wanted t’ feel y’re laugh,” Buck mumbles, feeling tongue-tied and inexplicably shy.

And oh how Eddie smiles at that.

That smile is a comet shooting across the sky and Buck wants nothing more than to catch it and hold it close and keep it and let it burn him alive for the rest of his days.

The bareness of it and the way it seems so unrestrained and full of something he might dare to call twin to the love that bursts loud and soft and bright like a sunrise in his chest, makes Buck frown thoughtfully.

It’s not something he’s ever really seen from Eddie, not directed toward him, at least not in such full force.

Eddie notices the change in him, a change that not even Buck is fully aware of or understands, and he aches with the familiar realization of how well Eddie knows him.

Nights in which you have Steve all to yourself — no Robin or Eddie, no kids, no phone calls from said kids — are few and far between. Not that you mind, really. You love your friends nearly as much as you love Steve. But it’s nice to have him all to yourself sometimes. So when he suggests a weekend away for the two of you, you jump at the chance. 

You’re at a small cabin tucked away in the woods, that under normal circumstances would make you nervous, but you know you’re safe with Steve. There’s a small fire crackling in the fireplace a few feet away from where you’re sitting, tucked carefully in Steve’s arms, a soft blanket thrown over the both of you. His hand is comforting as he rubs over curve of your shoulder, lips pressed to the side of your head in a soft kiss, “You okay?” 

Tilting your head up to look at Steve, you find him already staring at you, illuminated by the soft orange glow of the fire. He looks soft — softer than normal, if that’s possible, with his hair undone and falling into his face, his glasses perched on his nose, and a gentle look of concern lining his features. It's a fleeting moment, but it hits you then, just how lucky you are. You’ve always known it, really, but with the way he’s looking at you so tenderly, you feel like the luckiest person on the planet to have Steve. 

Steve, who is kind and funny. Steve, who is smart, and strong, and protective. Steve, who cares about you more than anyone else on the planet, and who feels more like home than anybody you’ve ever met. You’re pretty sure there’s no one else like him. And he’s yours. All yours. It’s nearly enough to make you cry. 

“Baby?” Steve asks, lifting his hand from your shoulder to brush his thumb over your cheek gently. 

Realizing you have yet to answer him, you nod and blurt out the first thing on your mind, “I love you.”  

This isn’t news to Steve — you tell him you love him all the time — but the earnestness with which you say it catches him off guard, eyes going wide. His pretty lips quirk up into a smile as he replies, “I love you, too.” 

You lean into his touch, tilting your chin up until the tip of your nose rubs against his, lips barely brushing as you murmur, “I just… love you. So much. ‘M lucky to have you.” Without giving him a chance to reply, you close the tiny gap between you, kissing him softly. 

His hand is warm on your jaw as he kisses you back, still confused at where all of this is coming from, but not confused enough to deny you a kiss. The confusion is still clear on his face when you pull back, his eyebrows drawn together, lips pursed slightly, “Are you sure you’re okay?” 

“I can’t tell my boyfriend just how much I love him?” you reply, lifting an eyebrow as you trace your thumb over the swell of his bottom lip. 

Steve’s quick to press a kiss to the pad of your thumb, fingers wrapping around your wrist gently to hold you in place, fingertips rubbing against the delicate skin there. “I’ll allow it,” he concedes after a moment, gaze drifting back up to yours with a grin. 

“Good,” you nod firmly, leaning in to peck his lips again before nuzzling back into his chest, your ear pressing just above where his heart is beating steadily. 

He presses a kiss to the top of your head, pulling you in as close as he possibly can. His voice is quiet, vulnerable, when he whispers, “I feel pretty lucky, too, ya know. Love you more than you know.”

3. What genre would your OC do badly in but it would be hilarious or interesting to watch?

Chuuya would do horribly in a romantic comedy but the absolute train wreck would be so so funny (to me). He has no sense of being flirted with and "doesn't have time" for romance anyway, so watching a theoretical romantic interest try to engage with him would be,,, truly great. Umbrius would do poorly in the horror genre because he doesn't scare easily and is also the Can And Will Fight And Win Or Die On My Feet Having Tried type of character. So he'd be being hunted by some murderer and he would just,,, fight them. Immediately. Turn the tables and become the hunter himself (he is a dog/wolf after all).

25. What would be your OC’s My Little Pony cutie mark? (i've never seen MLP so i had to google this)

Chuuya's would be a nuclear blue comet (his name uses 宙 which is space/sky/time/etc), "his" color is nuclear blue, and the comet itself is a symbol of him being locked into a life course that will result in him rapidly burning up to his core until there's nothing left :D Umbrius' is much more straightforward - it would just be a black wolf paw print, with a shadow to make it look sorta 3D probably. His name is literally (essentially) "Shadow," and he is A Dog, and also he has limited shadow walking magic, so like... easy and simple for him.

Okay okay okay, I've got so much to say and I wanted to send it direct-to-you because writers don't get enough love on here and I will be the change I wanna see 😭😭😭

I just binged all of Comet Donati (so far) and want to say out the gate: not only do you have a fantastic grip on characterization, but on wordplay as well. The way you write manages to sound so casual and yet so clever at the same time, twists of words that had me going "oh!" Because how did I never think to word things like that??? It makes me feel dumb but in a really good, excited way (looking at u: describing the Missouri river as a snake with scales of silver moonlight 😭👀)

The flashbacks are so well done, cut into pieces in a way that feels dreamy and so intriguing, and I love the way it slowly builds more and more in relation to what's happening in the current day of the fic.

Which brings me back to characterisation, starting w Aegon: You have hands down one of the best interpretations of him I've ever seen??? He's so fucking vulnerable, so sweet, so charming, so kind, and yet at the same time you get the sense he's keeping everything at arms length. He's playful and loud and it prevents anyone from taking that vulnerability he has and doing something with it. He'll cross the entire city to pick a fistfight with his brother for you, and then disappear in a snap of fingers the moment it seems like a line might be crossed. That's him, that's the boy that stole my heart officer.

Baela and Rhaena ACTUALLY having personalities and agency in a fic??? Say it ain't fucking so 😭😭😭 I love them so much, and the key pieces of personality and Really interesting character design choices (the quote from Rhaenys on Baela, for example) and the fact that her conflict w Jace doesn't feel hammy or gimmicky? Using beautiful Aeg again- people have a tendency to turn their chosen character into a cardboard villain for the sake of pushing the story forward, and while he's clearly an asshole it doesn't feel like the shit that's done to Aegon where he's literally nothing else 😭😭😭

And of course, beautiful, troublesome Aemond. This living tragedy, I adore him even when I want to slap the sense into him. He's exactly like the Aemond we'd all expect, but you've managed to adapt him to a modern setting so so well, that he's the one that kept Luke along and that he fought so hard for him. I just love the humanity he has in this without losing the fact he's a pretentious bitch 😭😭😭

All in all thank you I love this fic, and I had a really surreal moment reading "Aemond x reader, Aegon x reader" and going "oooh, the Fic For Me" and then reading

BESTIE!!!!!!!!!! 😍😍 This was such an amazing surprise and it made me so wildly happy!! For the first 5ish chapters of a fic, it's always difficult for me to tell if it's really working and hitting the tone that I intended, so to see this just gives me so much reassurance that I'm doing an okay job with Comet. I love these characters and they certainly all feel real to me...but I think it's clear that I am at heart an Aegon girlie and I've never written a HOTD fic that didn't make people unwillingly fall at least a little bit in love with him. 😂 He's such a mess, but an unsuspectingly gentle and insightful one...? That's really all thanks to TGC, his vision for Aegon is the characterization I have always connected with. I cannot wait to show you what's in store for this deranged little boy band...so many things... 👀

I am thrilled that you enjoy the setting being (sort of, a little bit) Kansas City...I don't think I'm capable of writing an AU fic without having it anchored in a specific setting with ~vibez~ ...and also I've never been to Missouri before, but I've spent a LOT of time on Google Earth doing my research, so hopefully I've done it justice so far. 😁 I have a feeling...a spidey sense...that we might end up spending some significant time in Kansas City towards the end of the series...but first...many other far-flung destinations await... 👀

Ethan enjoys musicals, his favorite being "Singing in the Rain". He doesn't go out of his way to go out and watch a musical though. Until... he met his future wife. All of a sudden, he's taking her on weekend trips to NYC.

Lilac LOVES musicals. Of course, her absolute favorite is Hamilton. It's Ethan's favorite now too, no matter what he says. How could he not like it when the man endured the songs played on replay when she moved in? One day, he stopped an really listened. He realized the whole musical was sung through so he listened to the whole story. He was very impressed by the lyrical and storytelling genius behind it. When he saw it on stage? Game changer. He was sold.
