funniest running joke in all of one piece so far is when a devil fruit memeber of the crew falls in the ocean and is immedietly followed up by zoro cursing and running in after them.
Theres this scene a little bit into jaya where Nami is really mad, and in the awkwardly cropped background you can just see chopper get so scared he falls of the ship immedietly followed by zoro yelling 'man overboard!!' and jumping in after him. none of this is the focus of the scene and nobody else notices
It's a miracle he doesn't just keep Luffy tied to the ship at this point

ROTTMNT AU where Repo suddenly becomes Mama’s debt collector and driver after she hears how good he was from Daxum.
They talk trash about the turtles and clients during their car-rides.

Hunter's Moon would call Marc Marcus (and Jake Jacob) and it annoys them both to no end because they're names aren't short for Marcus/Jacob but he knows what he's doing and will keep doing it on purpose.

Continuing with my Psychonauts 2 re-playthrough - something I found pretty clever about Hollis' Hot Streak is that, when you think about it, Raz didn't need to change much in her mind to make her turn to gambling - she was stressed and desperate for a solution to the Psychonauts' money problems, the root of many other problems (arguably including the Interns' safety - it has to be a contributing factor, at least). Raz didn't do that much - he wasn't actively trying to brainwash her by changing a tonne of connections at once or putting whole fully-formed ideas in her mind, Inception-style, he just made one little connection, but that one little connection was the trigger for so many others that Hollis herself made, and it just grew and grew like a mental tumour. Which highlights the amount of care a Psychonaut must have even further - even with the best of intentions, messing with someone's mental connections just slightly can have tremendous unforeseen consequences.

randomly thinking of the absurdity of a modern fantasy universe of one of my OCs walking into a grocery store with a six-legged lizard draped over his shoulders
"Sir, no pets allowed."
"He's a service animal."
"What service is he trained to perform?"
"He's a medical alert lizard."
The creature produces a pill bottle from somewhere and furiously shakes it

Edward Teach stands on the quarterdeck of the Queen Anne, staring out across the water at the blockade on the horizon. He’s an even-tempered man by nature, but three days into a standoff with the Royal Navy and he’s starting to feel the stress of the situation. Fortunately, Izzy Hands is the only person crewed on their modest fleet of five who'd know him well enough to notice.
The formation of their own vessels ensures the opposing ships can’t advance in any direction without taking heavy fire. Edward has bought them time, but he needs to make a move before the crown’s reinforcements arrive. The problem is he’s yet to work out a way to get past that firing line.
“Faking surrender is on the table if we’re in a Hail Mary sort of mood.” It just might come to it if this goes on much longer, but the element of surprise for that devious sort of tactic was surely spoiled by the reputation his banner carries. Fuck.
“However, it occurs to me our insisting upon a brand may have been an act of hubris.” It’s a joke; an attempt to break the tension.
