#I ALREADY HAD MY MOMENT OF HEY BUT SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG & BLOOM DO GOT SOME ARC BEATS THAT HIT THE SAME

A little gift for you Sonknuxadow fans out there: a small one-shot I whipped up.
“I finally get to see them again.”
Because of his duties requiring him to constantly save the world, it had been a long while since Sonic had seen his partners—Shadow and Knuckles, that is—so it was a bit of an understatement to say that Sonic had been feeling lonely as of late. Thankfully for them, Sonic was on his way home. They didn’t know that, though.
“Not that they need to know,” Sonic muttered to himself.
He decided to pause for a brief moment to admire the surroundings. Above him shined a brilliant orange sky. The bright sun peeked over the horizon while the acacia trees swayed in the light summer breeze. The long, green grass beneath Sonic’s feet complemented the scent of blooming flowers nearby.
By now, Sonic was approximately five minutes from home. The sky began getting darker with each passing second.
Suddenly, Sonic felt a vaguely familiar sensation. Or rather, it was less of a sensation and more like his chest had just been stabbed with a hundred knives.
The blue blur collapsed to the ground clutching his chest, as the painful feeling now spread to his arms and legs. As he looked around in a panic, he noticed his gloves were straining.
Oh.
Oh no.
Sonic recognized what this was.
It turned out that not all of Dark Gaia’s energy had been expelled from his body.
Within seconds Sonic’s gloves were torn to shreds, spikes shot out of the soles of his shoes, his hands were now more similar to claws, fangs emerged from his mouth, and his body was covered in fur. A lot of it.
Sonic reflexively roared as his transformation finally culminated and the pain faded away.
“Well, isn’t this just great?” Sonic snarled sarcastically.
The Werehog. Yes, even the hero himself had long grown tired of this form. But there wasn’t much he could do about it. Thankfully for him, he didn’t transform into a Werehog every night.
Sonic’s ears drooped and his eyebrows scrunched upward. Neither Shadow or Knuckles had seen him like this before.
“Now I’ve gotta see Shads and Knux while looking like this?” Sonic whimpered. “What am I gonna do?”
With a defeated sigh, Sonic trudged the rest of the way home.
-----
“Do you think stars have brains like we do and we just don’t know it?”
“Knuckles, if you ask me one more stupid question, I will drag you by your dreadlocks to the upstairs bathroom.”
Shadow and Knuckles had spent roughly an hour bickering over nothing—a familiar pastime for them both—and the rest of the day had been uneventful.
Shadow’s ears perked up as he and Knuckles heard the doorbell ring.
“Who would be visiting us after sunset?” Shadow asked.
“Just go answer the door,” Knuckles scoffed.
“Fine, but you’re coming with me,” riposted Shadow as he grabbed Knuckles’ hand and both walked over and answered the door.
“Hey, didn’t you notice the ‘no soliciting’ sign right next to our d—”
The rest of Knuckles’ sentence evaporated into thin air as he and Shadow were greeted by what could best be described as an extraterrestrial beast.
“Holy shit!” exclaimed Shadow, losing his balance slightly in awe at the monster on their doorstep.
“Quit the theatrics, guys! It’s me, Sonic!” the werehog quickly interjected.
“What in the world happened to you?!” Shadow asked.
“It’s a long story,” Sonic sighed.
“Everything is a long story with you, isn’t it?” Knuckles quipped.
Without further comment, Sonic welcomed himself inside the house and slammed the door shut. Not that he was even trying to; his werehog form granted him super strength among other powers.
“Whatever you do, be careful with stuff,” Shadow warned. “We already had to pay extra for the water bill, I’m not interested in paying for exterior repairs.”
“No worries, Shadsy,” Sonic chuckled.
Shadow blushed slightly. He knew Sonic loved calling him by his pet name to mess with him.
“Are you sure this guy is actually Sonic?” Knuckles whispered to Shadow.
“I heard that!” Sonic growled from the kitchen.
By the time the red echidna and ebony hedgehog walked into the kitchen, the gargantuan mammal had already made his way into the living room. There, he was running around on all fours in a circle trying to catch his tail. Shadow and Knuckles couldn’t help but snicker quietly to themselves.
“He’s such a dork,” Shadow thought to himself. “I love him so much.”
Knuckles raced over to the kitchen cupboard and quickly grabbed a pot and filled it halfway with water.
“I’m making fucking mac and cheese, and nobody can stop me!”
Shadow sighed and walked over to where Sonic finally exhausted himself and plopped onto the floor, laying on his stomach.
Shadow reached down and lightly pet Sonic on the head. He could hear the werehog let out a small purr as he did so.
“From what I’ve observed thus far, I suppose you’ve turned into some kind of dog?” queried Shadow.
“No,” Sonic gruffly responded. “Long story short, Egghead put some sort of dark energy in me and made me turn into this… thing… every night.”
“So I guess you’re relegated to daytime duty, now?” Shadow asked, grinning as if he were holding back laughter.
“Not exactly. After I put the world back together, I didn’t turn into this every night. I don’t know what happened tonight in particular to make this happen, but I guess I still have some of that energy left in me.”
“Interesting,” said Shadow, not very interested at all.
-----
Half an hour later, Knuckles finally finished cooking. Amazingly, he hadn’t burned the mac and cheese this time around.
“Dinner’s ready, you two,” Knuckles called out from the kitchen.
“You hungry?” Shadow asked Sonic.
“You bet. I’ve been starving all day,” Sonic answered.
And thank goodness that Sonic was getting to eat something; he rarely ate because of his travels and routine penuriousness. Not that he had never stolen food from restaurants before, but still…
The three boyfriends sat around the small table, bowls in front of them.
Knuckles preferred to let his food cool a bit before he began eating.
Shadow ate the plain macaroni and poured small amounts of the cheese powder into his mouth with each bite. Just how he liked it.
Sonic shoved the bowl into his face, gobbling down the entire meal in five seconds.
Knuckles shot him a concerned glare while Shadow simply facepalmed.
“Mother of Chaos, Sonic. You really couldn’t have been a little more graceful?” asked a slightly disappointed Shadow.
“You know me, Shads. Being graceful is not one of my strong suits,” the werehog grumbled, wiping some of the liquefied cheese from his furry muzzle.
Knuckles laughed. “That’s the most accurate thing you’ve said all night, Blue!”
After ten minutes, they all had finished eating and were pretty much ready to call it a day. It had been a while since any of the three had gotten a good night’s sleep.
“I suppose we should all head upstairs, then?” Shadow yawned.
“Yep. Let’s go,” Knuckles agreed.
The trio meandered upstairs and into the master bedroom.
“...”
Shadow and Knuckles completely forgot the mattress had been torn to shreds after the two got into a pillow fight the day before.
“Now where are we gonna sleep?” whined Shadow.
“You mean this is the only bedroom in the house?” Sonic questioned.
“Unfortunately,” Knuckles uttered.
Sonic looked up and thought to himself for a few seconds. Then, he sprawled himself out on the floor laying on his back.
“Maybe I can be the bed for tonight,” the werehog laughed softly.
The other two became incredibly flushed. Him as the bed? He had to be kidding.
“Sonic, are you cr—”
Shadow was cut off as Sonic stretched out his arms and embraced Shadow and Knuckles, resting them on his stomach.
They were surprised to find out this felt even more comfortable than the bed itself. Sonic’s fluffy body certainly helped matters in that regard.
“...Love ya, Shads… love ya, Knucklehead…” Sonic mumbled as he slowly dozed off.
“Good night, Sonic,” Shadow replied with a contented purr. “I love you, too.”
“Seconded,” said Knuckles.
And with that, all three drifted off to sleep.

Archie! Sonadow AU: Spectrum (issue 222) Part 1
“Summary: Sonic and Shadow goes out on their first public date in New Mobotropolis, but ran into some trouble while on their date.
Characters: Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sally Acorn.
Pairings: Sonadow, Sonally (Past.)
Warning: Implied Homophobia.
A/N: This is going to be split in two parts because of how long it is. I hope you all enjoy reading this.
“Nervous, Faker?” asked Sonic to a certain black hedgehog, walking besides him. The two were heading down the path, hand in hand to wherever the blue hedgehog was taking his boyfriend to eat at for dinner. This drew several eyes and looks at them, as they continued walking to their destination.
Shadow simply answered back with his usual haughty tone, “Hmph! As if, Hedgehog.!” He paused slightly to shoot a glare at a pair of citizens pointing and whispering at him and Sonic. “And isn’t that something I should be asking you instead?”
The blue Freedom Fighter’s expression turned from teasing to surprise. He then scratched his chin in thought while the two hedgehogs still kept walking down the path. “Okay, okay I’ll be honest here Shadz, I was a tiny bit nervous at first when I thought of asking you out on our first date in public since; we don’t know how everyone else in the city will respond to us, even after we both came out to my friends,”
The hybrid couldn’t help but mentally snort as he was reminded of the various expressions, the Freedom Fighters had shown. Priceless!
Sonic then brought his hand away from his chin to rub the back of his head, “And I also thought you might not be ready too because I know how difficult it was fifty years ago when it comes to relationships like ours...”
Hearing that made Shadow actually feel a bit touched that his lover had considered his feelings over this, despite being fine with the idea of a public date; since he wanted to come out in the first place.
“But then I figured, ‘Aw! What the heck? It doesn’t matter what other people think of!’ As long as I know I love you and that I am just happy being with you Shadow. Then the opinions or who judge us, don’t matter.” Sonic had a small blush, blooming across his muzzle as looked over towards his boyfriend, waiting for his response.
Shadow was in complete amazement over what Sonic just spoke to him, but allowed a small smile to appear on his face, before walking closer to the blue hedgehog and kissing him on the cheek. Sonic looked surprised from the cheek kiss Shadow had gave him out in the open public at first; but couldn’t help but allow a smile form on his face as Shadow stepped back and retook his hand. Both hedgehogs continued to stare into each others’ eyes, forgetting the world around them and some of the people who were staring at them.
Shadow then spoke up, breaking them out of their trance.
“So Faker. Do you actually have any plans for where we’re suppose to eat or are we going to stay out here all night?”
‘Geez, nice job killing the mood there, Shadow.’ Sonic thought as he couldn’t help, but pout at Shadow before answering back.
“Course I have, Shadow. And before you ask, no. It’s not my favourite Uncle’s restaurant,” He then started leading Shadow down the path as he continued talking.
“Since this date is both an important and a special occasion for the two of us, I managed to get both of us reservations at a restaurant that Twan’ recommended. Something about the place not using margarine or whatever that is.”
Sonic then stopped at his destination before letting go of the GUN agent’s hand and walking towards the waiter behind the reservation table booth (or whatever it’s called.). Shadow allowed his surroundings to take in. It didn’t really looked all that special compared to the other fancy restaurants he had seen back in Capital City. Just your average typical restaurant with a fancy sign and the name: “Creme de la Creme”, displayed on the restaurant green awning. But the atmosphere didn’t seem too bad, it looked rather pleasant and welcoming.
So maybe this date won’t be so bad after all.
“Reservation for two, under ‘Sonic’.” Sonic said to the waiter.
The waiter only looked at the hedgehog pair, his eyes darting back and forth as if he was confused by what he’s seeing, “I’m sorry sir, I don’t-”
Sonic swiftly cuts him off, slamming his hands on the reservation booth, “Sonic, Hero of Mobius? Fought Robotnik? With the Ultimate Lifeform right here? Helped me stop the ARK?”
“Ah, yes of course! Right this way.” The waiter then lead them to their table.
Despite what just happened, Sonic seem to be pretty chill. Shadow on the other hand, was glaring at the back of the waiter’s head, like he trying to make his head explode with his mind. He did not like the look the man had gave him and Sonic when they were outside the restaurant. While his boyfriend probably did not noticed, but the hybrid knew his instincts were telling him that this waiter is discriminating them for their relationship.
Remembering what the blue freedom fighter had previously told him and realising that this was getting to him, the black hedgehog heaved a sigh before letting his eyes wander around the restaurant, in order to distract him from his thoughts. Like the outside of the restaurant, the interior wasn’t anything that different to the ones in Capital City that Rouge and Hope drags him to. There were lots of plants and flower which look fake and made out of plastic which served as decorations and the walls were pretty much all beige with light grey highlights, giving it a somewhat plain yet simple and homey comfortable feel to it. Shadow snapped out of his thoughts, the moment they got to their table and Sonic took his seat, while the waiter went off to continue his job.
“You okay Shadow? I noticed you were glaring at the back of the dude’s head like you’re gonna kill him?”
The said agent looked somewhat surprised and embarrassed that his lover had noticed, before taking his seat in front of him. Despite that the fact Shadow stayed silent, that expression of a small pout, along with a set frown and slightly drooping ears was a dead giveaway to the blue hedgehog.
Sonic gave his boyfriend a sadden expression before speaking, “Listen Shadow, I know your thinking that dude was judging us for being together, but please don’t forget what I told you earlier about not caring on other people’s opinions and...” he then stood up from his seat and took Shadow’s cheek into his palm, gently caressing it. “I’ll never be ashamed of you and what we have. No matter many idiots and jerks are there currently jeering and mocking us right now.”
Hearing this, coming from the hedgehog who’s known for being so cocky and laid-back to an annoying amount, greatly improved the black hedgehog’s move as he allowed Sonic a tiny smile before closing his eyes and started leaning into the hero’s hand to let his god-forsaken touch take over him.
Unfortunately, the blue hedgehog had to slide his hand away from the dismayed hedgehog’s cheek so he can take Shadow’s hands into his, as that laid-back tone, he’s used to hearing came back on.
“So for tonight, the only thing you have to worried about is what you’re gonna order.”
Welp, moment ruined. But it managed to squeeze some amusement out of the hybrid, as he only rolled his eyes and softly chuckle while another waiter came to their table, placing down a basket full of bread.
“Welcome and good evening.” the waiter greeted to the pair.
Sonic responded immediately, but still kept his attention on the black hedgehog, “Hey there pal, we’ll start off with water and-”
But the waiter cut him off before Sonic could finish talking, “Actually, I was wondering if I might ask you something first.”
Sonic and Shadow sat down on their seats, their attention on the waiter.
“Uh...sure, shoot.” Sonic answered.
The waiter hesitated for a short second as if trying to find the right words to say what he thinks about the couple. It just doesn’t make sense to him. “When do you plan on going back to dating the princess, if this new relationship you have is a phase and...”
He immediately trailed off the moment he noticed the expressions sent to him. Sonic had already dropped his friendly expression, his eyes were narrowed down and Shadow was giving him the same glare he gave the previous waiter, but actually looked like was ready to skewer him.
Despite the rather rude and obviously discriminating question, Sonic tried his best to keep a calm tone in his voice; but not changing his expression, “Look man, Sally and I have already talked about this. We’ve-”
Then another customer spoke up, trying to come to their defence, “Yeah man! Leave them alone! Can’t you see they’re trying to enjoy a date together?!”
The customer’s attempt at trying to defend the couple, only seem to make their mood even more worse as the waiter attempted to save face.
“W-Well yes I can see that, I just don’t understand why he didn’t give the princess another chance.”
“She slapped him across the face in front of all of us and dumped him, duh!”
By then, Sonic decided that there was no point in wasting his time with correcting these people and actively made an attempt to ignore the “noise pollution”, by drawing his eyes away from the view and eating a piece of bread from the basket. Shadow also tried to do exactly what his boyfriend is doing to ignore the nuisances, but instead he had his eyes sealed tightly shut and was griping the bread in his hand so hard, it was almost like the hybrid was imagining one of the waiters or customers were in his tight grip instead and was trying to squeeze the life out of one of them.
The argument continued as more of the customers and staff got involved with their own opinions.
“But I still don’t understand why Sonic started dating Shadow now! He was straight until-”
“Just give it a rest! If he happy-”
“He once worked with-”
“You don’t understand-”
“Yeah, well I think-”
Shadow’s grip on his untouched bread tighten as he tries to block out, the opinions being tossed back and forth in the restaurant. He also begin trying to remind himself that he changed. He was no longer the hedgehog who obsesses over his past and joined up with the doctor to look for answers. He is now an agent of GUN with the duty of protecting Mobius. Just like his boyfriend and the Freedom Fighters.
“But Sonic and Princess knew each other since they were kids and they loved each other for a very long time! I’m sure whatever he’s having with Shadow right now is fake and against his will!”
Okay to hell with what he just told himself.
Letting his anger take over his senses, Shadow suddenly stand up from his seat with a chaos spear sparking in his hand, startling Sonic who practically choked on his bread.
Thinking fast, Sonic quickly jumped out of his seat before his boyfriend could seriously hurt anyone and grabbed Shadow around the waist before immediately pulled him out of the restaurant with his speed.

The Dark Prince:  Chapter Two: The Way He Is
Tumblr media
"Alright, so where do we start?"
"Well, our only clue as to right now is that 1. This person had something against the Commander and 2. This person also wanted to incriminate you. So think, who might hold a grudge against you?"
Amy and Shadow began to walk into the forest with nowhere in specific to go. The night and stars were at full bloom and with that the vast cold surrounded them.
"I... I don't know. It's honestly been such a long time since I've done the whole 'heroin' kind of stuff...the farthest I can go is when I pulled out Infinite's eye."
"You what?"
Shadow looked at Amy in disbelief. How could something so small and... innocent do things he, himself was capable of?
"Yeah, it honestly wasn't my intention, I must have hit him really hard that time. Not like it matters, we haven't seen him in years since Sonic defeated him."
Oh, that's right Sonic.
"Maybe it's not about you... but about him. This wouldn't be the first time they use you as a bait to get him."
"I haven't seen Sonic in a year. I doubt that what you say is true."
Shadow noticed that the air around them had changed now. It would seem like talking about the blue blur affected Amy in some way or another. He wished he could of know more, but he was one to blame as well since he wasn't one to start conversations with her about her feelings.
"Well, it wouldn't hurt to have more allies around. Believe me, I am not a big fan of this idea either but having the world's hero on our side could be of great advantage."
Shadow stood up in front of Amy and she could instantly feel the warmth radiating from his body. It calmed her down, once again she knew that he was right and that she needed to put aside her feelings for the blue one for the benefit of both of them.
"...you are right, Shadow. You always are."
"Damn straight I am"
"Alright but where are going to start looking?"
"Last time I checked on G.U.N's database, people of the city of Hvalsey have reported seeing the blue one running around their city. So we will check there first...with my speed, we can get there in a day."
"Wait, no running!", Amy was now the one stopping Shadow on his tracks. Delicately touching his chest with her gloves and for one moment Amy stared into his eyes, taking dominance for a second.
"I am aware that running is more convenient but it's also very...flashy. Just like we know Sonic's location, there will be reports of you running around and G.U.N agents and whoever else is following us will keep getting a track on us. So for now, I suggest walking...to be discrete."
Shadow nodded in agreement. Amy was right on this one and if they were going to be a team, they were going to have to listen to each other's ideas and respect them. He didn't want to admit but right now he was more focused on Amy's small hand placed on his white chest fur.
"You are right... if only I had my Chaos Emerald... We could be there right now."
"It's ok Shadow we will figure something out. Meanwhile, we should think about a place to sleep."
Shadow didn't notice until now but Amy must be freezing to death at this point. Shadow could tell that it was going to snow at any second now even if his body was made to be resistant to high and low temperatures, he still was one that could be affected by it.
"Since my house and yours is out the question, I think I know of a place where we can rest for the night."
.
.
.
"A cave?"
"What were you expecting?"
"Knowing you? At least something similar to the Bat-Cave"
"Toucheé"
Amy took a sit on what it seemed to be solid ground. In no matter or another, she was comfortable, it was cold outside and humid on the inside. Shadow noticed this and with no further due went outside to look for rocks, sticks or anything that might start a fire. When Amy noticed his absence, she went outside to follow him. The white snow made small cracking sounds as her boots made contact with it. A few minutes later she found Shadow on his knees, looking around underneath the snow.
"Shadow?"
"Amy, you should go back"
"Let me help you"
Amy bent down to see that Shadow had a deep cut around his waist that Amy didn't notice before. The blood must have blended with his black fur and Shadow acted so normally that she didn't think that he was hurt at all.
Noticing her concerned, Shadow moved away from her in disapproval. Finally founding what he was looking for he stood up again as nothing happened and walked back to the cave, expecting Amy to do the same. Amy sighed in defeat and quietly back with him.
Once again in the cave, Shadow took two minutes to turn on a bonfire with two Flint rocks. After that, both of them stayed quiet. Looking through to the dancing flames until Amy decided to break the silence between them.
"Why don't you let me help you?"
"There's nothing to help with. The wound already healed, it was a pretty deep cut so my body took longer to heal it. I am alright now."
But that answer didn't satisfy her. Amy still had questions about everything. Including the most important one.
"Why bother so much Shadow?"
"Speak clearly"
"Why bother yourself with me? We barely know each other but you still decided to help me."
"Because..."
Maybe because he was secretly in love with her. However, he still hasn't figured out his feelings completely yet. Shadow didn't feel it coming like in the books, he didn't think 24/7 about her. He didn't miss seeing her every second nor think of her as a goddess. What was it then? What was it about her that attracted him so much but still couldn't get a clue of? Shadow was never one of the words but of actions and so this thoughts never left his mouth.
"It was the right thing to do."
Amy's face changed. That was convincing enough. Shadow was just like that, a nice guy. He would go to any extent to help someone in need and that someone right now was Amy. Amy offered him a warm smile, in which Shadow return by looking away. She knew that it was just that, the way it works.
.
.
.
Shadow woke up immediately at the smell of black coffee. He sure wasn't expecting to sleep that night but the low key was kinda glad he did.
"Could you walk a little slower?"
"...I thought I was going slow, my apologies."
"And usually, the guy is supposed to be the one who walks by the road."
"Sorry, I am not the gentleman you thought I was."
Amy waited for Shadow to change sides, but that never happened. Once again, Amy thought that this was very Shadow like as well. The ladies called him 'Dark Prince' but he clearly didn't know how to act like one.
"How long, until we get to the rabbit's house?.", Shadow was clearly annoyed, not being able to his speed for the simplest of things really got to him more than he thought he would.
"Just around the corner."
And there it was, Cream's house in its full cuteness. It was nice to see that her friend's house was still intact. The couple walked slowly towards the yellow door and rang the doorbell. From the inside an 'I am coming' was heard and seconds later, the door opened. Cream had for sure grow into a fine lady. Even after her mother died, she still found a way to keep strong. She was smart, strong and independent. It was not a surprise why the top world mechanic, Tails Miles Prower, was completely in love with her.
"Miss Amy! Mr. Shadow!"
"Hey Cream, long time no see"
.
.
.
.
.
"I understand your situation, but how may I help the both of you?"
Amy and Shadow had taken a sit on the red sofa, facing the rabbit girl. "We wanted to ask you for some clothes...and even for some money...like you must know. When a government spy company wants to murder you, all money disappears from your account."
Shadow looks straight into Cream's brown eyes. In a sense, he wanted to intimidate the rabbit girl but was failing at it miserably. He felt nostalgic at the sight. But was strangely proud of it.
"For the Dark Prince anything, as well for his princess." Cream laughed a little as he saw the reaction on the couple. Which to her surprise they did not deny her comment but quietly blushed at it.
"Oh, but Mr. Shadow!" Cream's sweet voice stumble, on Shadow's ears as he came back to reality.
"Yes?."
"There's this box full of clothes on the room upstairs. Its the first one to your left. Can you bring it please?."
Shadow nodded and stood up from his sit. After Cream noticed that Shadow was out of sight, she went to sit next to Amy who was curious by friend's reaction.
"So, Mr. Shadow, uh?." Cream teased her with a smile and Amy blushed more intensely. "It's not like that!."
"Who are you trying to fool? Mr. Shadow totally likes you!."
"He doesn't! He is just helping me out.", Amy gave a slow whisper.
"Amy, let me tell you something about the Dark Prince.", Cream grabbed Amy's hand and began her story.
.
.
.
.
.
If the entire world could crying, then it will be because of Vanilla's funeral. Nobody care enough to put up their umbrella to protect themselves from the rain. Everyone in black and flowers in their hands, trying to be strong enough for the young Cream.
Everyone was there but Shadow The Hedgehog.
So when Cream saw Shadow standing in front of her mom's grave, that really got her.
Not that she was angry at him but was deeply touched seeing him but countless of beautiful flowers all around her grave.
"Your daughter has always been there for the person I care the most and for that I am grateful. I promise to take her of her Vanilla and it's such a shame I didn't get to try your pie one last time."
Shadow turned around as he felt a presence near him. He saw Cream come out of the shadows into the moonlight.
"I'll tell you my mom's pie recipe if one, you don't tell anyone. And two, if you tell me who is that person you care for the most is."
.
.
.
"Amy, that person was-"
"I have the box."
Both Amy and Cream jumped in a hysteric manner and Shadow appeared in front of them, holding a heavy-looking box on his left shoulder. A puzzled look rested on his face, wondering what were the two girls whispering about.
"Oh, great! Just pick whatever you would like to take. I have some extra backpacks you could take on your trip as well. Feel free to take food too.", Cream added as she calmed herself.
"Thank you so much Cream. I am can't take you enough."
Amy let go of her friend's hand to stand up and look into the box. Some of the things she recognized from Cream's closet and others she didn't. Some of the clothes brought back memories from the times Cream would help her do the heroin stuff. "Do you ever miss going on an adventure Cream?." Amy asked as she pulled out a small orange dress, that her friend used to love to wear.
"Sometimes, but my life is way happier now...I have my friends from school, Tails and you. That's all I need.", Cream said with a warm smile. Amy returned her smile and stood up. "I'll go change."
.
.
.
Now the black and pink hedgehog were in their way to Hasvely. Having clothes on wasn't something Shadow enjoyed in all honesty. The long light brown coat made his arms movements complicated. The black under-sweater made his skin itchy and his tight skinny jeans made running impossible. And the worst part? He wasn't used to wearing clear round glasses.
"I need coffee"
"You just had a cup at Cream's!", Amy replied. Shadow stood quiet for a few seconds to appreciate her. She was trying to cover as much fur as possible. At the end of the day, it wasn't every day that you would see a pink hedgehog on the streets. Even for Shadow who had traveled the world countless times, a pink hedgehog wasn't something that he would see normally. She put her short hair in a small ponytail and put it under a hat. She wore a white sweater and a black skirt with black leggings to cover her legs and to top it all, a black long coat. Even when she wanted to look 'normal' she looks way too good according to Shadow's thoughts.
"I drink at least 7 cups a day."
Shadow closed his eyes and looked out the window but opened them as soon as he heard Amy's small footsteps come close to him. " Alright Shadow, as soon as we get to Hasvely, we need to do a cleaning."
"If you think I am going to stop drinking coffee, then you are completely wrong." Shadow turned around to find Amy looking at him directly at his eyes with her green emerald ones with a disapproving look.
"We will see about that, Dark Prince."
Amy moved her body and gave Shadow his space. Amy didn't want to admit it but, she would appreciate something warm in her hands right now. It was freezing and the train had no heating system whatsoever. A few minutes passed by and silence surrounded them. Then. Amy felt how Shadow stood up from his seat, opened the sliding door and walked int the train's small hallway. A few minutes passed and Amy began to worry about Shadow. Did he go to the restroom? Did he decide to jump from the window and leave her? Did he decide to go with G.U.N?
Amy was used to be alone, to deal with her problems by herself. But she was absolutely terrified of rejection, to not be enough. Amy had to admit that a few months ago she couldn't even stand to look at herself in the mirror. Whenever she would, she would always pint-point her defects. Like the small freckles on her cheeks, her round nose, nor her double chin. Her acne scars on her back, her stomach, and legs that were becoming bigger; which made her go to the hospital a couple of times since she decided that not eating was a better idea. Just everything about herself disgusted her. It wasn't just her looks. She doesn't remember exactly when everything went to hell. She used to not care about trivial things such as looks when she was a kid, and she certainly didn't have time to think about it when she was captain of the Resistance back in the day. But it wasn't just that, She wasn't good at anything, she wasn't smart, had a boring personality and didn't have any particular talent.
Although she was getting better, the thought that she would never be pretty enough, nor good enough as a person, still haunted her mind once in a while. Rouge would help her once in a while with this, and Amy was now regretting taking her for granted. And as far as Shadow has told her, she just disappeared after the events with G.U.N., which was usual for her to do.
Shadow has told her to not worry too much about her, that Rouge was that way and for her, she will try to be strong.
Amy heard the sliding door open once more and Shadow was standing there with two cups that looked like they came from a coffee shop.
"I am back."
Shadow walked past Amy and took a seat next to her handing her a cup, which she accepted gladly. "Enjoy it, this will be your last cup for a while."
"You know that's not happening," Shadow said as he took a sip from his coffee.
And there was Shadow. It may sound like those books in which the boy helped the girl feel better about herself. But this wasn't the case, because there was a big difference between fantasy boys and Shadow.
Shadow was nothing but himself.
Amy knew that she was being selfish, even towards Shadow. She still couldn't believe that Shadow would do all of this for her. She was asking too much and she knew that.
"Shadow...you can leave....whenever you want."
"If I didn't want to be here, I would have been gone by now."
What Rouge couldn't accomplish in years, Shadow did it in seconds.
He made her feel that she was enough. That she was worth all of this trouble. That someone cared for her so much, that they would put their own life at risk. And it wasn't because it was his duty as a hero, but because he was helping a friend out.
"Where did you get the coffee anyways?." Amy took a deep breath as she appreciated the smell of coffee.
"If I tell you, you will get angry."
"...Shadow...what did you do?", Amy asked in a monotone voice, to show her concern. She saw how Shadow looked up at the window and took a big gulp before answering her.
"I ran to the closest coffee shop and ran back here"
"Shadow, we said no running, what if someone saw you and called G.U.N?. We could be in serious troub-"
Amy said before getting interrupted by the Dark Prince...that goddamn nickname that the more time she spent with Shadow, the more sense it made.
"Fine then, I'll let your hands freeze next time."
...on its own way, it kinda made sense.

@blucpincushicn (x):
🌀   The speedster chases away his lingering nerves and the old but fond memories of exploring haunted mansions and castles with his team as he comes back to reality. How young then, he’d felt. Eyes wide and full of rebellious spirit, so much has changed since then. The last of his nostalgic thoughts slip away when Sonic’s focus returns back to the screen, ears raising back up at attention.
Tumblr media
Ah yes. Jack’s Lament had begun, Sonic noted with a tiny smile. He knew all these songs by heart, although this one was always one of his favorites. It was certainly quite the performance, even after all these years. It was simultaneously bouncy and dramatic, with a tune that was ever so catchy even if the mood was somber. Once again the blue blur was reminded by how much he enjoyed musical numbers.
He has to resist the urge to hum along, in fact. Shoulders tremble a bit again while Sonic watches the animated character dance across the screen, the glow from the movie casting an otherwise gloomy wash on his azure painted fur. For a moment he even forgets his previously fluttering thoughts over his companion. The hero silently follows along to the song, easily reciting the lyrics from memory alone.
…But who here would ever understand? ♫ That the Pumpkin King with the skeleton grin, ♫ Would tire of his crown, if they only understood… ♫ He’d give it all up if he only could~ ♫
…Oh, there’s an empty place in my bones, ♫ That calls out for something unknown~ ♫ The fame and praise come year after year, ♫ Does nothing for these empty tears… ♫
The music softened as the song came to a close, signaling that it was moving onto the next stretch of plot points. Sonic lets out a small sigh with a puff of visible fog, ears drooping slightly, gaze somewhat glossy and distant. What a classic.
Tumblr media
And of course, with the lament coming to an end, so did his focus on the movie. green eyes silently wander over back to Shadow, his train of thought once again delving back into sap territory.
Sonic wouldn’t of anticipated the sudden shift in Shadow’s own attention as he’s suddenly met with that piercing ruby gaze and- oH
Tumblr media
Crap. CRAP. Look away, look away!!
Sonic reacts a bit too slow, ears folding backwards and his fur all but poofing out on every inch of his azure coat as he tears his attention away from the agent. Oh no. Ohhh no. Shadow definitely saw that. Eye contact was made. Gaia damn it this is bad this is baaad-
Tumblr media
❝ Huh? ❞ Is all he can respond with, the pitch in his tone a little higher than he intended. Glancing back, he watches Shadow rid himself of his jacket and lean over- what was he doing?!
It takes Sonic a second to register the cozy fabric being draped over his form, leaving him blinking several times before he realized what was happening. He unlocks his arms from around his knees and grabs onto the hems of the coat, staring in awe at the article of clothing he’d just acquired.
     Shadow gave me his coat??
Tumblr media
Oh. Oh dear. Sonic hadn’t even realized how chilly it’d gotten out. His body had been responding to it- come to think of the slight trembles of his shoulders, but he’d been so distracted by thoughts he hadn’t even picked up on the signals his body had been sending him. Was this why he was feeling so jumpy?? Surely his emotions had contributed to some of it, but…
And clearly Shadow noticed. He’d noticed before Sonic even noticed. Gee… he really was just a mess tonight, wasn’t he? Still, it certainly didn’t stop the bloom of warmth and butterflies that took off in his chest as the faint scent of coffee hits his nose. Okay… Rein it in, Sonic. Keep it cool. Act normal. Pretend like you totally didn’t just get caught staring.
Tumblr media
❝ H-heh… Y’know I’ve survived sub-zero temperatures way outside the stratosphere, right? ❞ The hedgehog teases quietly, shooting the agent an amused look as he stretches up and wriggles his arms into the sleeves of the coat so he could comfortably hug his knees again. It a good humored jab, certainly not one Sonic made intending to start anything. He further solidifies that point by continuing before Shadow can get a word in.
Tumblr media
❝ …Thanks tho’. I appreciate it, I really do. Not a huge fan of the cold, if’m honest. ❞
It really was… kind of the agent. Not something Sonic would have expected, yet somehow he didn’t feel as surprised as he should be. After everything he’s witnessed from his companion tonight, the speedster honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Shadow leaned over and put his arm around Sonic and maybe tilted the hero’s face up with a hand, leaned down and-
Tumblr media
……..Yeah okay, we’re not finishing that thought. Whatever happened to platonic?? Sonic was trying to be a good friend, not get caught up in…whatever that train of thought was leading to. He really needed to get a rein on his feelings tonight or he wasn’t gonna make any actual headway. Sonic didn’t wanna just be a sitting, stuttering duck the entire time.
So, he thinks of a diversion, if only from his own stupid feelings as the movie led up to it’s next musical act.
Tumblr media
❝ Hey… what’d you end up getting from the convenient store? ❞ Sonic whispers, completely pretending like he wasn’t using this as an excuse to glance at Shadow again. Not at all.
Yeah, I was there for some of it, in case you forgot. The words never left his mouth for there were too many implications tied to them to consider in a moment’s notice. For one thing, he knew all too well the speedster had had countless adventures without him, and far be it from him to exaggerate his importance in those he did take part in. For another, none of the ones that applied here were among those Shadow was particularly proud of.
Tumblr media
The first time, the two of them were enemies, and the second, well - he didn’t remember. Not who Sonic was, not what had led up to that moment, not the last time he’d been there. And now that he did, it was even more conflicting to think back on.
They hadn’t exactly been on the same side, that second time around - it had really been more of a... temporary partnership, along-for-the-ride kind of deal. Yet Sonic had never stopped being nice and encouraging, and most of all, he had tried to get him to remember. And he’d been the only one, out of everyone Shadow knew.
     Why ?
The question died on his lips though, as Sonic quickly moved on to thank him for the coat, effectively pushing him off that specific train of thought. “Yeah...” he uttered slowly, forcing his mind to get back to the present time and place. “There’s a notable difference between living and surviving though, wouldn’t you say ?” The semi-rhetorical question was punctuated with a scoff - as if proving his point before Shadow had even voiced it, the speedster hadn’t wasted any time properly putting on the garment. It seemed it was even more welcome than the agent had guessed.
Tumblr media
“I can imagine,” he said with a widening grin, as an actual response to Sonic’s confided sensitivity to cold. “What with how little fur you’ve got growing there.” He just had to get a little jab in there, however objective. It made things feel a bit... less strange, and more like they usually were between them, he thought as he let his gaze linger maybe one too many second on the bundled up hedgehog. It was a pretty cute image...
Tumblr media
Chaos, stop being so weird, Shadow urged himself, snapping his attention away from Sonic and back to the screen a tad too suddenly to look natural. His heart had leaped a minute earlier when they’d unexpectedly made eye contact, and it still felt out of sorts now, after he thought he’d figured out such a perfect distraction. He leaned back some, planting his hands against the ground to try and quell this odd trembling that had overtaken them. And it wasn’t from the cold, that much he could tell.
Maybe he was getting a little too friendly. Not by anyone else’s standards, for sure, but by his own - this was likely further than he had been planning on letting it go. Far out enough of his comfort zone that his own body was responding where his mind couldn’t, sending him signals that he was overdoing it. But then, why did this behavior come to him to naturally ?
Tumblr media
“Hm ?” Ears and head both turned to his companion as a reflex when he spoke up again. So much for paying attention, Shadow thought to himself, almost rolling his eyes. He’d been so caught up in his reflections he’d completely lost track of what was going on for a minute - both in the movie and right by his side. “Same as you,” he said after a brief delay, shifting his weight onto one hand so he could reach into his bag and pick out the snack in question with the other.
Of course, it being a discount plastic bag, it just had to get hung up on the ring of his wrist and tumble over when he pulled his hand back, effectively revealing his other pick that he’d more or less forgotten about already. “Oh, and this,” he added, dropping the first item to pick up the bag of salted dried meat and bringing it up the other’s attention. “Some coworker got me addicted to this stuff. It’s not junk food enough to be forbidden on duty.”
He let out another quiet laugh. It was the excuse he’d heard when no one made a fuss when said coworker had shown up with the snack in question, but he’d come to know better as time went by. It was just awful food all around for most people, too salty for some, too chewy for others, or too odd of a taste. It didn’t distract people like most other junk food did because no one wanted it. It was no surprise, in hindsight, that Shadow would develop a certain affection for it.
Which led to an interesting question...
Tumblr media
“Wanna try ?” he offered in turn, ripping the bag open and handing it out to his rival with a weirdly curious expression on his face.

Chapter 3
In another time and place, a much more peaceful planet enjoyed a brief moment of respite between the forces of good and evil. Birds chirped and flowers were in bloom in the spring breeze. On the plains beyond the nearby city, a blue wind blazed across the land. It was the hero of this planet, a beacon of hope during its darkest hour. Sonic the Hedgehog ran with the breeze, feeling the wind on his face as he zoomed across the Kingdom of Acorn, a place where the free people of this world lived in harmony. It came under attack many times by the villainous robotic forces of a roboticist that goes by the name of Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
Sonic came to a stop from his immense speed before allowing himself to fall backwards onto the grass, looking up at the blue sky and sparse white clouds. He could lay here forever, or at least until he got bored and started running again. For now, he was just enjoying the peace and quiet. It felt like a few hours before he heard the crunching of the grass nearby. The blue hedgehog turned his head to see the chipmunk that had showed up.      She certainly didn’t look regal, but she was the princess of the kingdom, Sally Acorn. She was tapping her foot, but her face held a smile. “Well, if it isn’t Lazy the Hedgehog.” She said teasingly to the resting hedgehog. He smiled and hopped onto his feet. “Hey, what about all those times I beat up robots for you? Don’t those count?”          “It doesn’t outweigh the number of times I could’ve used your help surveying the area around New Mobotropolis. After all the times we’ve been attacked, we have to make sure that there aren’t any surprises in store for us in the near future.” She was referring to the capital of the kingdom that her brother ruled. The city was the first line of defense against Robotnik alongside Sonic the Hedgehog. The people of the kingdom, mutated animals called mobians, were made up of a diverse group of creatures that came together under the rule of the Acorn monarchy, who led them into times of prosperity over the course of generations.            Sonic chuckled and nudged Sally’s shoulder. They’d all come a long way since they were younger, fighting what seemed to be a hopeless fight against Robotnik’s Empire. Who would have thought that a speed demon and a princess would’ve grown as close as they did, and that their little group would become celebrities and heroes in their own right for the world at large. Now, thanks to their actions, the world was rebuilding. Sure, the threats weren’t gone, but they were at a much better point in their lives now.           Sally seemed to get an idea of where Sonic’s train of thought had gone. “It’s pretty amazing, isn’t it? The work’s never done, but you can’t stop the Freedom Fighters that easily.” She assured Sonic, maybe more for herself. “Evil Scientists, Vicious Wizards, Ancient Masterminds, Crazy Mirror Alternates. It’s hard to believe that this has been our life. It sounds like it comes straight out of a TV show.”           “Well it wouldn’t be an adventure if it was mundane, Sal.” Sonic responded. They both nodded in agreement as they continued towards the city itself. The high wall gave way to a sprawling city with simple buildings towards the outside and grew more diverse and complex towards the center, where Castle Acorn stood proud and tall over the subjects, acting as the heart of New Mobotropolis.           “I need to talk to Elias about the places the Royal Guard has already checked out, and you can pick up where they left off.” Sally explained, heading to the castle by herself, leaving Sonic to his devices. He shrugged and went to his Uncle’s restaurant, where he could grab a snack while he waited. He wouldn’t have to wait for long as his friend, a two-tailed fox named Tails, found him in the establishment.            “Hi Sonic. How’s it going?” He asked his blue friend. Sonic scarfed down the remainder of his chili dog in order to answer. “It’s been chill. Not much going on around here. Sally wants me to check out some places around the country for signs of Eggman, but I’ll be done with that in a flash. You wanna race when I get back?” Sonic challenged. Tails couldn’t help the smile that grew on his face. “You bet! I’ll beat you this time, Sonic!”            Sonic ruffled the kid’s fur playfully. The two had become close brothers, going on adventures together all the time. There was not a way in the world you could possibly separate the two. They were a package deal, and they were among the best of the best.          Almost as if on cue, Tails’ communicator rang. It was the princess. She probably expected the two to be together. “Tails, if Sonic is there, tell him that there was something suspicious going on in the western sector. The Royal Guard said they saw some weird robots, but there were none on the sensors. Nicole is doing a scan for whatever might be out there, just in case its trying to cloak itself, but you’re the fastest thing alive. If anyone can find it and stop it, it’s you.”           Sonic couldn’t help but smile. He loved action, and chances like this were growing rarer and rarer. He hopped off of his stool, Tails following his lead. “I’m on it, Sally. I’ll meet you there! Just try to keep up!” He and his friend hurried back out to the outskirts of the city. He moved swiftly across the rolling fields and the trees. There wasn’t even a sign of footprints. They could’ve been buzzbombers, but they’re loud. They would’ve heard them if it was those badniks. Something was out of place here. He settled beneath a tree next to Tails and started tapping his foot as his eyes scanned around, waiting for Sally to arrive.        The chipmunk wouldn’t keep them waiting for too long, as she arrived with Amy, another of their friends and fellow Freedom Fighter in tow. They all seemed to be perplexed by the lack of any hostile presence. “It’s not like the Royal Guard to jump at shadows. If they saw something, it’s still nearby.” Sally mused. Amy took a peek at the console that Sally had, which also housed the AI Nicole. It seemed like the Ai was processing information from the surroundings.          Sonic huffed. “Look, there’s nothing here. I’ve checked. The guards must’ve been daydreaming or something.” He concluded. The three looked at him with a stern look. “....What?” Sonic responded to the gesture. Amy saw something of note. “Hey, Nicole? What was that spike you just showed on the screen.” The AI moved back to it and revealed a holographic form of a lynx. “Hmm, I saw it earlier but I dismissed it as an error in the reading. I can take a closer look at it though, if you think it’s not just something random.”         “That would help. Thank’s Amy. Maybe that’ll be our key to solving what’s going on here.” Sally spoke up. “Tails, what about you? Did you notice anything strange since you got here?” In response, he seemed to hum as he looked over his own console screen. While Sonic was running around, he’d been searching for traces of power sources. Anything from electrical discharge, diesel, or otherwise.        Then, both Tails and Nicole piped up. “Chaos Control.” They spoke at the same time. The lynx spoke first. “You were right. The outlier actually had a frequency that we have on record. It was Chaos Control, similar to what Shadow’s used. It caused a slight space-time blip. The guards probably saw a vision of badniks. Though the source of the phenomenon seems to elude my sensors.”         Tails continued. “It’s possible that it came from the future. It’s not as strong as the Time Stones, but Chaos Emeralds HAVE shown some amount of temporal flux capabilities. Maybe someone was trying to time travel.” He elaborated on the possibilities that surrounded the mysterious circumstances. The group of five looked to each other with concern.         “So, do you think there’s going to be an invasion anytime soon? From the future or just plain from Eggman?” Sonic asked.          “It’s entirely possible. Chaos Energy is unpredictable, and just with what we’ve heard and found here, it’s not exactly enough for us to plan for. The best we can do is keep an eye out for any more phenomenons.” Tails answered. Sally and Amy both nodded. They were about to return when a burst of light struck, giving the five a vision of a far off place; A Temple, where two factions were fighting. The vision disappeared as soon as it came, barely giving them any insight on what they saw.           Nicole was the first to say something. “That was another blip. It...It might be Chaos Control...but...I’m not so sure anymore.”         “You’re right. I’ve never seen Chaos Control do that. Usually it just teleports, transports, or freezes time. Unless Shadow’s done something like that, I have a hard time believing this was just plain Chaos Control.” Sonic said sourly. Things were getting more confusing by the second...

Hey, is it ok to ask for a short shadamy fanfic where Amy finds out about Shadow doing flower arrangements and she helps him out with planting roses?
.
.
.
.
.
It hasn’t been long ever since she found out that Shadow loved gardening. The first time she found out that Shadow secretly visited her garden, she didn’t know how to react. She wanted to get out of her house and asked him if he needed anything from her. However, the moment Amy saw Shadow kneel down and take one of her roses so carefully, she stopped completely to admire this soft side of him. Shadow didn’t stay longer than two minutes and as soon as he took a quick gaze at her garden, he left, holding the red rose in his hands.
This happened more often, Shadow made sure to know Amy was out of her house before going to see her garden. He was wrong most of the times, however, and without his awareness, Amy just let him wander around her garden, looking out at the flowers and even sometimes taking them.
Three months passed just like that and Amy finally built the courage to follow Shadow to his home. She just wonders why Shadow wanted so many flowers for? Why come see her garden so often?
She was well known in the secrets of ‘the following someone quietly’ and although she wasn’t too proud of it, it for sure came in handy. She wasn’t surprised at the location on his house, it was in the middle of the forest and at the beginning, no light could go through the massive forest. However, Shadow had placed his small comfortable looking house in somewhere special. Nearby a small waterfall, where trees weren’t as high and plenty of sunlight could go through their leaves. Vegetation was a natural cause around the area, the calming sound of water going down the cascade’s rock made the picture almost too perfect as it wasn’t real.
Amy saw Shadow entering his house, and of course, Amy couldn’t help but to notice the beautiful garden surrounding his house. However, as soon Shadow entered, he came out. A bit different, Amy was hidden in a bush but even she could tell that Shadow was wearing gloves, and a small hat to protect his eyes from the sunlight. Not only that but around his waist was a tight belt in which you could find all types of gardening tools. Shadow was holding a small flower packet, in which contained ‘Roses seeds’. Amy saw him do every step of the plating right, but the location and the amount of water or soil wasn’t the proper one. Roses were really hard to conceive, and you had to be very persistent in you wanted beautiful roses.
Amy wanted to go to him, but she figured that coming randomly out of nowhere would upset him. She decided to back away and come another time to see his process.
and she did.
Sadly, what she found wasn’t pleasant. She found a disappointed look on Shadow’s face as soon as he saw that as soon his roses began to grow, they perished. She didn’t know why, but that sight wasn’t something she wanted to see…never. Shadow was a hedgehog who had already suffered enough and if growing roses could bring him any sense of happiness, then Amy would make sure that Shadow gets his roses. She waited until he wasn’t home anymore to get ready with her plans.
First, she didn’t want to make it too obvious that she was there. So she decided to plant the new seeds in the same place Shadow did. This time, she made sure there was the proper amount of soil and water. The tough part would be coming once in a while and properly give water to the plants and of course, any plant needed love and attention, so at least 5 minutes of talking to them would the trick.
Time passed by like that, Amy and Shadow constantly visiting each other’s gardens. November was about to end and Amy expected for Shadow’s new roses to bloom any second now. She couldn’t wait and see his expression once they were in full bloom.
“Well, It will be a while before I see you again”
Amy took a small glimpse in the window as she saw Shadow talking to her roses.  He then runs off. When she heard that, she was confused and wonder behind the meaning behind his words.
Shadow didn’t come back until spring.
.
.
.
.
.
When he came back, he went straight to Amy’s house. In his recent G.U.N mission he discovers how much he missed the moments he could see Amy’s roses. Since it was Spring, he expected to see a beautiful garden, full of different kinds of flowers with all kinds of shapes and smells. However, there was no words that could express how melancholy Shadow felt when he saw Amy’s garden completely dead. At this point, Shadow didn’t care and he entered Amy’s house. He looked around and he didn’t find her. Shadow wasn’t close to Amy, but still, he cared for her. He had seen her many times on the battlefield and his respect for her grew more and more. Not only that but he also felt guilty for coming to her house uninvited all of those times. He had grown to like her, he learns a lot from watching her plant flowers and it was time to pay her back. Shadow looked through the whole city in vain, the only place he hasn’t checked was his home. He didn’t think he was there, but there was no harm in checking.
He didn’t found Amy, instead, he found a full grown garden, full of lilies, tulips and all types of flowers he could think of. He looked around amazed at the fact that there roses as well. He was so amazed by it that Shadow didn’t take notice of Amy slowly making his way to hide again. Seeing Shadow happy was all that she ever wanted to see and that small smirk on his face could make the most depressing weather into a vast sunshine. That’s how Amy felt at the moment, something warmed her heart and Shadow’s as well.
Amy backed away slowly but then she stepped into a branch, making it break in two while making a small ‘cracking’ sound. That was enough to break Shadow ’s trance and Shadow turned around to find Amy’s failure in hiding.
They both didn’t know what to say. That moment between them was a heavy one and neither of them didn’t know how to break it.
“You were the one who did all of this?, Shadow asked as he took a quick glance at his new garden.
“…yes…I am sorry for intruding your home”, Amy was blushing and wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.
“It’s ok…I actually will go to your house too and see your garden…even steal some roses”
“Now that you mention that…why would you do that? Like why steal my roses?”
“…I make flowers arrangements…I have recently opened a flower shop but many clients would ask for roses…I was ever able to grow them”
That made a lot of sense now. Amy had let her garden die so she could focus on Shadow’s. She felt sad at first, but seeing that her work would bring happiness not only to Shadow but to other people, it was all worth it.
“I am sorry about your garden and for all the struggle…it most of been hard keep the flowers alive through winter”, Shadow got closer to Amy, he wanted to show his gratitude to her in any way possible. He imagined Amy coming every day with a thermal light to keep warm the flowers. Walking down a heavy path of snow and struggling with the cold. She had done all of that for him and even if the flowers wouldn’t come out the way he wanted, just the thought that someone would go that far for him made him feel…happy. Like someone actually cared enough for him to go to those lengths. It made his heart warm and the feeling inside of him could not be explained with words.
“I won’t lie to you…it was tough”, Amy giggle a bit and Shadow gave her a smile in which Amy appreciated fully.
It was quiet again, and for a moment they didn’t want to part ways. They knew that the moment they parted ways, it will be the moment that whatever they had going on will be the end.
“Well, I guess I will get going now…gotta start working again on my own garden”
“Yeah…I need to start doing some arrangements…I was away for too long”
“Yes…well…I will see you around then?”
“Yes”
Amy picked up her right hand and she waved it side to side and strangely Shadow did the same. She wasn’t sure she will see him again, but she was happy knowing that she brought him some sense of happiness in his life.
“Wait!”
Amy was already about to enter the forest when she heard Shadow’s voice, stopping her in her tracks.
“Yes?”, she turned around slowly. Her heart skipped a bit, the sunlight reflecting in the flower’s petals, the sound of water running down the rocks and Shadow’s nervous smirk made the scene magical, like the ones she would only read in books…
“Would you like to…um…work with me?”
.

First Impressions Pt.3
First Impressions Pt. 3
ShadamyBoom!
On previous chapters:  On a normal day, Amy found Shadow hurt in the woods after battling some robots that were under Lyric’s command. They soon after became good friends and both having an emerald each, decided to embarked on a mission to find the last remaining of the Chaos Emerald and stop Lyric’s evil plan.  Will this mission cause love to bloom between them?
A/N:This chapter contains a bit more of SonAmy, but of course this is Shadamy!
“Was that really necessary?”- Sticks said as she tiredly walked along with Knuckles, Tails and Sonic. It was already dark  they knew that it must of being sometime already in the morning, but at the moment they didn’t seem to care. They lost count of how many times they got lost in the woods.
“I didn’t think Dave was capable of doing that with the Meh Burger’s chairs”- Tails was already falling asleep and really didn’t have time to figure out how in the world he was able to put propellants in their sits.
“Glad Amy made it out of this”- Sonic said and notice that they were already in the village.
“It’s already late, I am going to sleep”-  Said Knuckles  while looking at the Village’s main clock that indicated 5:32 AM,and with that Knuckles went off to his home.
“Yeah same”
“Me too, you wanna crash for today at my house Sonic?”-Tails asked, looking at the blue fur.
“Yeah sure”- After that being said, everyone parted their own ways.
While Sonic was sleeping on the hammock and Tails in the bed close to it, they both tried to get some sleep, which Tails could easily get. However he notices that his best-friend was still looking up to the ceiling, thinking. Even for Tails, this was a weird sight to be looking at.
“hey Sonic, are you alright?”
“....”
“Are you hungry?”
“....”
“Did you break anything?”
“....”
“...is it because of Amy’s student?”
“I mean, she was obviously lying! that ‘student’ of her it’s her boyfriend! What does he have that I don’t? Why is Amy dating him when she has me? am I not good enough? Why is she keeping it a secret? May be she is in danger and her boyfriend is actually evil and-”
“Sonic chill out!”- Tails almost screamed at the paranoid hedgehog.
“Sorry Tails, its just, I don’t know. Even is she does have a boyfriend, that’s not of my business. But I can’t really stop thinking about it”- Sonic said still looking up at the ceiling.
“... Sonic, have you ever thought that may be, in fact, you like Amy?”
“Amy is my childhood friend,I can’t”
“And why not?”
“...”
“There’s nothing wrong with liking her, she can be a bit intense, but that’s just how Amy is, she is a nice-hearted person. And I think that’s why you like her”
“ I am afraid Tails...”
“Of what?”
“Of not knowing my feelings and end up hurting her.”
“You know Sonic, I am not really good with relationship stuff, but I know that keeping your feelings to yourself is not good.”
“...”
“If you don’t say anything, its going to be too late and you will regret it. I really don’t want  to see my best-friend suffer that way.”
“...Tails... Thank you”- Sonic said as he stood up, he could see from the window that the sun began to show, and this somehow reminded him of a past memory.
“Where are you going?”- Tails was surprised by his sudden action.
“Come on Tails, a super genius like you can’t figure out where a simple hedgehog is going?”- Sonic smiled at him while heading for the door.
“Wait, are you serious? You are going? Right now?!”
“That’s right”- And with that, Sonic left running. By the distance he could hear Tails scream “Good luck” to him.
He wasn’t running at his normal speed, in a way he wanted to get it over with, but he also wanted sometime to himself to think about what he was about to do. For a moment, he could feel how everything was going faster than him. He began to think about Amy and how for many years he had left her behind. Of course this was when they were younger, and his attitude towards her had changed. He thought that the main reason why he left so many times was to save her from danger. But now that he thinks about it, in the back of his head, he knew that Amy would be there for him. He knew that no matter in what part of the Universe he was, Amy would always find a way to come to see him and he trusted her to do so.
As Sonic was passing through the village he could remember all the moments they shared, sometimes stupid, others embarrassing and others surprising, but at the end of the day, he will always cherish those moments. He knew that there will be a day when Amy would not longer be there, she would want to make a family of her own and he understood that. It was selfish for him to say, but in a way he just wanted Amy to stay by his side with the rest of the gang, always together. That’s was when he realized, his true feelings for Amy.
“Well it seems we are ready to go”- Shadow looked at Amy, who seemed a bit down.
“Its just that leaving a note without saying anything to my friends feels kinda wrong”-Amy was looking down at the floor while still sitting down on the sofa.
“You can still back up, Rose”
“Absolutely not, I am coming with you”- Amy stood up and went near by Shadow who was already on the door.
“Let’s go then”- Shadow opened up the door for Amy and she reluctantly made her way out of her house follow by Shadow.
Shadow and Amy just took a few steps out of her house and Amy was already wishing she could see one of her friends again.
“AMY!”
She was even hearing Sonic’s voice already.
“AMY!”
She was honestly getting scared now.
“AMY!”
That’s when Amy turned around and she notice her blue fur coming towards her at his super sonic speed. Sonic finally got close enough to her, close enough to see her black companion.
“Amy, what are you doing with Shadow?”- Sonic said in such a soft voice, he didn’t look mad, he just felt like he was too late.  This sight hurt Amy and she knew she just couldn’t lie to him anymore.
“Shadow is my “student”- Amy smiled at him, giggling a bit. Shadow didn’t want to turn, he was listening of course and wonder why Amy said he was her “student”.However, he knew it wasn’t the time to be asking questions. He did not turn around in order to give them some privacy.
“So.. is he, your boyfriend?”- Sonic asked prepared for the worst.
“Oh no, no. Shadow and I are just friends... friends who are going together in a mission.”
“Rose... Your promise.”- Shadow really didn’t want to interrupt, but he didn’t also want a blue hedgehog going around and ruining their plan.
“Yeah, right...Sorry, Sonic. I made a promise to Shadow and I want to keep it.”- Amy said as she looked at Shadow to comfort him.
“It’s ok if you can’t tell me, I respect your decision, but...When are you coming back?” -Sonic asked.
“We don’t know.. But I promise to come back”
“You don’t need to promise me anything, I know you will be back”- Sonic smiled at her, and Amy knew that was all she needed.
“Take care Amy... and Shadow...”- Shadow turned around and looked at Sonic straight in the eyes.
“Please, protect her.”
“With my own life.”-
“Hey, I can take care of myself!”- Amy interrupted, pouting for a bit.
“I know Ames, but you can’t never be too careful.” Sonic said as she gave Amy a hug. Shadow pretended to be looking at them, for a strange reason he was bother by the scene.
Sonic still had his hands on Amy’s shoulders and just looked at her with loving eyes, something that Amy was not used to it.
“Its time to go Rose.”- Shadow said and he began to walk away.
“I’ll be back, take care of everyone for me.”- Amy said and she also began to walk away.
“I will.”- Sonic said as he watched Amy catching up to Shadow and began to walk together. In that moment Sonic thought... everything can go to hell.
Amy took one last glimpse of Sonic and so she felt how he was still looking at her. Amy and Shadow were already entering the woods when Amy heard him.
“I LOVE YOU AMY!”
Amy suddenly stopped her tracks, even Shadow was surprised at the moment.
“I LOVE YOU AMY!”
Amy turned around and indeed confirmed that it was Sonic who told her that he loves her. Amy was in shock, she couldn’t find the right words to say in the moment.
“You don’t have to say anything right now! Just come back safely, and we can talk later!”
Amy was so surprised, the only thing she could do was smile at him and nod her head enthusiastically, taking one final glimpse of Sonic, she finally made her way to the woods where Shadow was waiting for her.
It was already late and Amy and Shadow decided to call it a night and stay at a near by cave. They really haven’t said a word, Shadow turn on a bonfire and Amy pull put the snacks she made last night and gave one to Shadow. They both ate quietly, just looking at the fire, Amy still confused about her feelings.
“You can still go back, we are not too far away.”- Shadow said, interrupting Amy’s thoughts.
“I already said this Shadow, this emerald is my responsibility and I won’t leave you alone in this.”- Amy looked straight into Shadow’s eye. Never in his life, Shadow felt intimidated by someone’s eyes. Amy’s determination could really break anyone down.
“I thought that you would want to go back and be with your blue boyfriend now.”
“He is not my boyfriend”
“Don’t you feel something for him.”
“...I need time to think.”
Shadow kept looking at Amy and he moved closer to her. Amy noticed this and instead of looking at the bonfire, she decided to look at Shadow. He was really close and for a moment she was hypnotized by his crimson eyes. They were both getting closer and closer and in that moment Amy didn’t think about Sonic at all. Shadow began to caress her hair and slowly going down her cheek. As they were getting closer, they eyes closed as well, oh so close...
“If you still think about Sonic after this, then it must mean that you are in love, Amy.”- Shadow stop suddenly and he went back to his original position, leaving a very embarrassed Amy staying still on her place.
“I hope you make the right decision”
