Would you ever do a yandere oc based on an urdu male lead? Maybe even with a foreigner reader learning his culture as an overseas worker?
-Thank you for reading!
OFCCCCC!!! Okay so I'm thinking of 2 Pakistani men, and these guys are bffs. OC #1 is a handsome dude that was born with a silver spoon, lives in a big ass haveli (or mansion. Just Google it) with his family- his parents and 3 brothers and he's the youngest and most loved of them all. This OC (I can't decide what job he has, so I'll leave it to u guys to vote on) is either going to be a business man who inherits his father's company, OR he can be a lawyer (very successful). OC #1 appears to be a cocky and overconfident, PLAYER who has the best luck but he's actually really hardworking and smart and was on the Dean's valedictorian list, he just doesn't take life too seriously. Hes very charming and charismatic and everyone wants to either be with him or BE HIM. His carefree attitude is often mistaken as him not being serious in any aspect of his life- be it love or career. But that's totally not true. He's worked hard for everything in life, and he may date a lot of people but he always makes sure that his dates know from day 1 that he's not serious about them. That it's just a fling.
OC #2 is a guy who's dark and brooding, completely opposite of sunshine OC #1. It's a mystery how the two ended up as best friends (OC#1 met OC#2 in kindergarten and demanded to be friends with him. #2 said no at first, but quickly came to realise that #1 was a true friend when he'd always share his lunch with him because #2 was dirt poor). This oc was basically very poor and had to work very hard from a very young age if he ever hoped to support his single mother(who he loves very much). His IQ? ITS 192. He's very intelligent, but still sort of keeps to himself, low key comes off as rude because of how quiet he is, seems and sometimes is least interested in other people (but that doesn't mean he doesn't notice them. He remembers everything). Growing up, his only friend has been OC #1, who he likes to pretend is a nuisance but he actually cares about him, especially because OC #1's family even treated him as their own. The two of them always did everything together, even applied to the same schools and would always have a friendly competition among themselves (no one else could even imagine to compete wuth them because theyd 1000% lose). OC #2 is very prideful and he never accepted charities, not even from his bff, was the valedictorian of his college (he was the top student in every institute he ever went to, and always got the first position in every exam he took). Not only is he academically very smart, but he's also very good in sports. So he's an all rounder. His job (again u guys have to decide) could be either business man (he started his own tech company.) Or he could be a lawyer (to fight injustice with his bff) OR he could be a SPY!
So basically, the story would go like Y/n coming into their life and yknow the basics- she's not fawning over them, is smart and independent, feminine and just like best girl everr. Anyways, the of them fall for her simultaneously, but you are the one thing that neither of them will ever compromise on, AND DONT BRING UP "SHARING YOU" they will actually murder whoever brings up the idea because monogamy is a big thing among these men (unless ur a Muslim guy, u can technically marry 4 women, but most don't opt to because they're very possessive and also the INFLATION???) Both of them are very possessive and are keeping tabs on you at all times.
Names for OC #1: Zulfiqar, Halim, Ibrahim, Ali Asghar, Haroon
Names for OC #2: Hashim, Mahir, Mehmet
Okay so help me choose their careers and names! And feel free to send asks for them. I'll answer them.

In Defense of Magnificus
A very very long rant by me. Originally from a rant I posted in a discord server in 2022, modified to be a little more concise. I have to apologize if some of this stuff is incredibly outdated, I haven't really bothered to catch up with newer stuff about the game outside of the game itself yknow... Like twitch streams from the dev and such.
I saw a theory that Magnificus was originally intended to be the villain of the original, in lore Inscryption, but through the rush of making the game as a coverup and developers like Kaycee not making much progress on the development because of said rush, he didn't get finished. And I think if you really analyze his character, everything about him FEELS unfinished.
His character design is super simple compared to the other scrybes. His deck is weak; there are not a lot of hard hitting cards aside from the Stim Mage, and the Magiks system itself feels wonky, as if they didn't have enough time to balance it out. His tower feels empty (Specially that damned bathroom. It haunts me.) His letter stops before its completed, he suddenly disappears mid-sentence... He's the only scrybe to not get a proper 3D version, as the game was mostly deleted by the time we got to him in Act 4, and he might've been the only scrybe that never became hegemon. We don't get to finish his battle, and he doesn't even get a handshake.
And going back to originally being a villain? Maybe that's why he was made to be so cruel to his pupils. P03 is also mean to his subordinates, but they're robots, they're not mean to gain as much sympathy from the player. Meanwhile, Magnificus is established to be mean and perhaps downright evil by the dialogue we get through Act 2. Rebecha speaks about him by saying he's mysterious, stating "Some say he wants... No, it's too terrible to say." But we never know what that refers to, and if it's coded dialogue or her own speech.
Outside of the CODED IN lore behind his pupils suffering, we don't see him being evil AT ALL. In Act 1 he is practically our savior; his throughout preparing was able to get us the film roll, and if we take too long he sends the player VISIONS to guide us in the right way. In Act 2 he attempts to warn the player about P03, his paint leads around to secrets to clue in about the OLD_DATA as well as perhaps serving as warnings for it. At the end of the game he is the only one who is distraught about everything being deleted; Grimora and Leshy accept their deaths, but Magnificus REFUSES to.
But wouldn't a villain rejoice about people dying? About, in his own words, an entire world being destroyed? It's like the original plan for his villainy was there, but he doesn't WANT to be one.
Now as to why he seems to continue to treat his pupils badly. I think it's just.. guilt. I believe he didn't have a choice in making them suffer, they were all just coded into what we know of Act 2. They were all created with the pupils being in torturous states and the game code telling them "It's Magnificus' fault". I think he himself believes this. I believe he could have tried to fix it before. But the thing is that, even if he ever did fix it, if he stopped their pain, it would all be for nothing... because the game resets. The only times it doesn't do this is when a scrybe takes over, which is something he has supposedly never been able to do. And if he were to help them outside of being hegemon they'd just go back to their original state once the new game card was used. I think he simply gave up upon realizing this and instead chose to bury his own grief that comes from it by playing into the character he was originally meant to be; the villain. That, and I think he just doesn't want to look at them... It hurts him to. I believe this is why he painted bleach over Goobert's painting.
I think him being originally an unfinished villain plays into him always being prepared. As I stated before, people often forget how helpful he is- it's due to his preparations that we are able to leave Act 1, he warns about The Great Transcendence in Act 2, warns Luke about the OLD_DATA, and warns him about the fate he'd encounter if he looked upon it. I think Magnificus wants to make up for his "villainy" by being the one the other scrybes and npcs can rely on in a time of need, so he spends every hour of everyday getting ready for the worst, and foreseeing what is gonna happen next.
Thing is that, he never stops anything from happening. He prepares a way out of Leshy's hegemony, but he can't stop it from happening in the first place. It's very probable that he was the one that planned how to stop P03 in Act 3, as we see he has been preparing since at least Act 2. But not only does the P03 hegemony happen, but he is ultimately unable to stop the Great Transcendence once it is in progress. Same thing for the game's deletion, which I believe it is at that point he truly panicked, because he couldn't foresee it or plan for it beforehand. It all feels like... An unfinished character arc. He never got to do anything he wanted.
I think he feels powerless.
Magnificus is often regarded as the worst scrybe. But in a sense, there's no real reason why that should be the case, at least not compared to the others. Like... Leshy took over the game and put the other scrybes into cards. He had good intentions, sure, but that doesn't mean his actions were good. Magnificus lost his eye, Grimora lost her memory, P03.... Was having a bad time...
Hell, the reason people hate Magnificus so much so often is because of the treatment of his pupils... But Leshy isn't all innocent there either. He puts Goobert in a bottle (At least, maybe he does. It's not clear whether it was him or Mags), which we know Goobert REALLY doesn't like, and he also put Goobert's description in the rulebook as "Failure". He also threw the bottle into the river as stated by himself in Kaycee's Mod.
P03... I don't gotta explain this one we know it is an asshole.
...And Grimora deleted the game, which basically killed everyone in it. While she had good intentions, it really only led to the discovery of the OLD_DATA and the subsequent assassination of Luke.
Now, what did Magnificus do? Nothing. Like... Really. He didn't GET to do anything. People dislike him because of his treatment of his pupils, but as I talked about before, I really don't think he can do anything about that, even if he wanted to.
So why do people so easily hate him? Circles back to the theory: Because he's unfinished. Everything about him is unfinished. The other scrybes are loved because we got to finish their arcs... We get to know why they each do what they did.
P03 not so much, but... P03 is a villain of sorts, people like villains and don't need them to be "good" to like them, which I agree with cuz villains are fun! P03 does have some sympathy points somewhere, though, which I'm not gonna go into here.
I'm gonna focus on Grimora and Leshy instead. Their farewells were perfect closure:
Grimora spoke about why she chose to delete the game, and we as the player come to understand her. It was right after her doing it in the first place, so we didn't even get to really build anger towards her. She talks about it being a necessary action- perhaps something we can agree with after knowing everything about the OLD_DATA. She laments not being able to play more with us, but she accepts her death and says goodbye.
Leshy talks about just.. wanting to play. That's all he wants, he just wanted to give us a good story. The original Inscryption is rushed and weird- Act 1, his hegemony, was his attempt to make it better and enjoyable (Which, considering it is the Act people love most, he succeeded.)
The player probably misses him by this point- playing cards with him feels somber, sad, and nostalgic. At this point we consider him a friend. And then he gets deleted after complementing our past deck, speaking about how much he enjoyed his time with us, and saying farewell. It's not something that leaves us with any possible anger towards him.
Magnificus though... He doesn't get that. We never get to talk to him properly, he never speaks about how he feels or why he does things. In Act 1 he spends most of the time in the clock, in Act 2 he gets cut off when trying to speak to us, Act 3 he only speaks a few sentences, and in Act 4..
His farewell is different than the other two. Leshy and Grimora accept their deaths... Magnificus doesn't. He doesn't talk about his feelings or justify his actions, because if you have been holding in your feelings, that is something you do when you can no longer do so. You let them go when you know you're going to die soon.
But he doesn't want to. He doesn't want to die, he can't accept it.
The game he played with us wasn't complete- the scales were gone, so we weren't even supposed to play against him. It was his opportunity to just say what he needed to say before he was gone, but he refused to accept his upcoming death. So instead he tried prolonging the process by using unrealistically high numbers instead of scales (The bigger the number, the longer the game will take, right..?). Even as he felt himself getting deleted he refused to end the game, or even talk to the player properly. For once, he couldn't prepare for the worst, and he was in denial- he was completely powerless and he didn't want to accept it. Instead, he speaks to us about the game deleting. He blames the player for it. He tries to guilt us; "You even allowed my goo mage to get deleted... I thought you two were becoming friends!"
And he doesn't get a handshake. He tried to push his deletion away for so long that he ended up not even being able to finish the match or get the same, proper farewell that Grimora and Leshy got.
I think by now I've said what I needed to say, but I wanna add that... Yeah, I think he's one of the most tragic characters in the game. I think he spends a lot of time being anxious- we don't get a clear answer on if he can see the future or if he is just able to predict it, but either way he lives with a lot of anxiety because of it.
I think the worst part is the deletion of the game and his farewell. He isn't able to let go because he's scared to, and because he has spent his whole life trying to prevent bad things from happening; trying to help his friends to get out of bad situations they caused themselves. But this time he's not able to, he can't do ANYTHING about it, and he's terrified because that means his whole existence and work is just... Gone. He spent all his days preparing for the worst scenarios, only for it all to be thrown away. He WASTED his life for nothing. And it hurts me that the fandom never saw that.
Or maybe I'm overthinking all of it. Maybe this has all already been directly disproven. But I still wanted to share this.

lucy carlyle for the ask game!!! :)
(Ask meme here)
We are 2 for 2 for teen girls hanging out with the dead tonight huh. Maybe Aradia should be Lucy's next dead girlfriend.
First impression
Stroud likes his scrappy teen girls, huh? I respect that. A man can have worse stock characters.
Impression now
While she clearly shares DNA with Kitty (insert the 'he she lost her whole squad' meme) she is her own character and I like that she's petty and irrational and unfair in ways that make sense for her age. Honestly she is so extremely 13-15 it is hard for me to imagine what she will be like once she is an adult. But yknow. Tossup whether she'll make it that far anyway.
Favorite moment
I go on about all the CEOs she kills but siccing a guy's dead ex-girlfriend who he murdered on him after he threatens to kill you because he thinks you're the weak link was a great move. Really set my expectations.
Idea for a story
While I respect Stroud writing technology out of the world because he simply does not want to deal with it, I would love to see Lucy Carlyle unleashed on social media. I think she'd do numbers (derogatory). She'd write lengthy screeds about ghosthunting procedures and then tell people disagreeing with her to kill themselves. Meanwhile Lockwood has a google alert for his name and George is on fantasy Sci Hub. They can still have their intervention like 'Lucy you are putting too much trust in mysterious beings whose true faces and intentions you can't ascertain, it's drawing you closer to a realm inimical to human life that will warp you beyond all recognition if it doesn't kill you outright' but it's just because she has some weird tumblr mutuals.
Also don't think I didn't notice that when Lockwood goes "yeah I told Barnes there's no way we're doing anything with the other side ever again" and the rest of his team loudly agrees with him Lucy is conspicuously quiet. She's keeping her options open. Maybe she wants to go beat up Marissa Fittes again. She deserves to.
Unpopular opinion
Leaving the agency when she did was probably the right call. She and Lockwood's clashing personality traits and priorities were bringing out the worst in each other and making everyone else miserable. (I am so sorry Holly.) They didn't really resolve everything either, so if that workplace relationship is going to work out they should probably get therapy. Bright side is there must be loads of child therapists in this universe right. They'd probably have to be dragged kicking and screaming though. Maybe if you told them the office was haunted and then locked the door behind them.
Favorite relationship
If Lucy and Lockwood have clashing traits that bring out the worst in each other, Lucy and the skull just share a lot of their worst traits already, and I think that's very funny. Instead of saying she is so empathetic and pure of heart that she can befriend sinister ghosts Stroud was like yeah they just both suck in similar ways and thus get on, to everyone else's confusion and dismay. Honestly surprised they got anything done during their flatmates era besides coming up with mean burns about their neighbors.
Also this is a hostage situation. I appreciate Stroud's willingness to make his leads complicit. Marissa delivers the classic "we're not so different you and I" villain speech, but she has a point. They're both trapping and exploiting the dead to protect their lives and careers; it's just a difference of scale, and once you've justified something, scale is negotiable.
However I'm very invested in Show!Lucy's doomed girlfriend so watch this metaphorical space for whenever I finally meet her.
Favorite headcanon
Talent seems largely random but Lucy is described as being connected to the other side even before she crosses over, so I think maybe she was a preemie or almost died some other way as a child and that's why she's Like That.

What are your thoughts on the up coming dlc? I personally am kinda bummed out they only announced the Scar/Vio one, i was hoping for one for pla too ://
On the bright side im excited to see kalos again
I hope this doesn't sound too streak of conscious-y lol
Not to be too Old Woman yells at cloud but I've literally been playing Pokemon for 23-ish years now? I'm still not entirely sold on a Pokemon game needing DLC, much less DLC that costs $35 when the base game cost $60 and tax. THAT SAID I already bought it anyway lol and I'm still super excited to spend more time with my character. I have her decked out in her new clothes already.
I think there's been some confusion on what the DLC is too, so let me recap my understanding of it really quickly.
This fall, pt 1 The Teal Mask will be released. This has like old school Japanese festival vibes.
This winter, pt 2 The Indigo Disc will be released. This takes place at Blueberry Academy.
Both will be playable on scarlet and violet (I saw some folks saying they were game locked?)
I'm super excited to have my baby espurr back, since espurr has been one of my favorites for years.
I'm a little disappointed that we're not obviously going to Kalos, but at the same time I'm glad that we're not PAYING to go to back to a place that they already showed us years ago.
I also saw folks who were disappointed that the wait for the dlc is so long? But idk I'm happy to wait for a good product (so long as it's good!!!). I really don't mind waiting for good content, especially when so much stuff lately has been rushed and not as good, yknow? Especially when rushed content comes at the cost of the well being of employees too
AS FOR CONTENT AND STORY AND STUFF. idk all I really care about is more arven, outfits, and an explanation for paradox Pokemon being in area zero before the time machine's existence.
Like 1. Don't let arven stay trapped in his room all day. Let him come outside with me and have adventures again.
2. I hate the school uniform so much. Let me wear something else please I beg you.
3. I don't generally put much faith in the pokemon company to tell a good story but they KNOW they've left us hanging with the paradox Pokemon mystery. I mean Arven literally says it for himself how strange it is that the scarlet/violet book talks about paradox Pokemon in area zero in a time before the time machine could have ever existed. What does that mean???
Personally I'm interested in the theory that the disc Pokemon or hexagon Pokemon or whatever alters reality based on the desires of those near to it and that terastalization is just a manifestation of a Pokemon to be another type/stronger. The paradox Pokemon are the desires of the professors and the original research team. The time machine and the AI are the same thing as well. With the AI in particular I feel that way because the professor's journal literally says something to the effect of "that man/woman walked out not long after the boy was born. There's so much to do, and I need more help, but how long would it take to train someone else? Would they even understand? If only there were two of me."
Then the next entry is them talking about what is presumably the AI.
Like I don't think the professor who just became a parent and is drowning in research and work and stuff would put EVERYTHING DOWN to work on all new technology that hadn't been invented yet.
So with ALL THAT I'm really hoping that we get more information on what the FUCK is going on with area zero and that Arven can be a part of it.
I also saw a theory that maybe the other professor is involved with blueberry academy??? That'd be nice.
Also some of the folks at blueberry seem to have that cooking motif going on so I don't want my man being left out on the fun

since summer stock's Official like press opening was wednesday, there's a couple reviews i've found (without extra digging) and they don't have a world of relevant information but a tiny bit
nyt made it a critic's pick so that's as a rule helpful for the show, says orville "has a secret — no, not that one" in an unisolated and unsurprising instance of prioritizing the critic's own general savviness over actually giving the reader info. i'm assuming this Quip means to imply "his secret is not being closeted (gay style)" but there's nothing further on this point. also says that gloria's character is "beefed-up" which like, you figure all the roles, plotlines, themes are, but one might especially hope for it for gloria b/c really that's who the film is meanest to, and the review says that she has involvement in like created backstory/explanation for aesthetic elements of the "get happy" number (also present in the film's of course) which is truly great and generally encouraging for the role, who in the film despite being responsible for bringing about the whole premise of "her sister discovers following her passions. which are also gloria's passions btw" really only gets the role in that finale of "staying out of jane's way" so, already knew the musical was handling these things v differently but confirmation is nice. the review also mentions will's performance, among others', is always funny.
and that review and the also positive one from the hartford courant also provide the lore that margaret wingate "wants to own all the land in the region. The Falbury farm is in her way, and forcing a marriage between her son Orville." the sentence, surely erroneously, cuts off there: i'm guessing it's like "and Is forcing a marriage between Jane And her son Orville." explains the mystery of "hmm what's that possible map framed on the wingate house set panel" (and maybe what orville's got rolled up underarm in that next gif) and also does help kind of enhance the film's points where like, it doesn't seem like orville and jane Don't like each other or anything, they Are already engaged (probably not the case in the musical), but also orville's dad is pushing it and getting in the way b/c this is like [the town is implicitly named after both wingait and falbury] but no particular Practical reason given. like how he mentions like "yknow jane your great great great grandfather falbury was the one who made Acting illegal here" (like lmao what?????) and this is not explained further nor reckoned with further b/c nobody actually tries leveraging this lol. and he's also like got this shop and presumed local influence and is well off while jane is in some financial straits and that's relevant but like, all via the tractor that they absolutely did not want to put in this stage show (as everyone agrees with lol) and this would make things more direct. and it also says the show within the show is partly a fundraiser for the farm which also makes everything work better with more cohesion and relevant stakes lol
and also everything (even via reading between the lines of a [not officially published] review where they didn't happen to like it much) saying what was also what i figured (based as well as like, what people involved were just telling via interviews) that like nothing's really trying to "subvert" the movie even as they're being completely flexible with reworking it; "book writer Cheri Steinkellner stuck to the movie’s spirit rather than its letter" as the nyt review says. with the review that didn't like it pointing to that the person did not like that spirit lol like well yeah then that adds up. but that's what i've learned from that press opening so far: Orville's Secret and Margaret's Land Scheme

just here to blab cause i havent been having much fun drawing lately, and ive been sick a lot which is abnormal for me, and i got them chronic headaches,
but at least i can project thoughts on silly gay characters and pretend like theyre the main characters in the shows and movies i watch
Tumblr media
reviewing past ideas this week since its nice when i dont have anything else i want to do. its nice to go back and see their beginnings again which is mostly just gil being unreadable and emotionally distant and cas being so desperate to keep gil in his life that he ignores all those red flags & pines painfully.
but i write pretty much everything down, so i have all those random thoughts like Domestic Moment #4306 and What If They Were Strangers, or the alternative, What If They Got Together Much Earlier. yknow how it goes. being my own fanfiction writer.
i like writing gil as being inexplicably alluring and its usually just because of small things like how he talks or his body language, on top of the fact he's tall and hot in a grungy way. and cas, even though he's gil's oldest friend, has such a hard time reading him because of gil's unique brand of being guarded (never being vulnerable or transparent). it all adds to the mystery and people (/cas) wanting to get in close for a chance to figure him out.
even in high school, cas wouldnt always be aware of what was happening in his best friend's life. gil's guardedness manifested in his teenage years as keeping the secret of his father's abuse, whether he was just scared of the consequences of others knowing, or he's embarrassed for his own circumstances, but cas' ability to look closely and be a friend without making gil feel bad about himself is part of why they were best friends. that, and cas being (at the time) a good cishet ally boy that respects his friends ;0
while this isnt what happens in their lil story, i do also like to consider what itd be like if cas was brave enough to recognize/act on the feelings he wouldnt admit he had for his friend, back when they were teenagers. cas thought he was straight for many years after high school, but i could also see a reality where ~ally~ cas becomes "experimenting doesnt inherently mean anything". hehe. would make their separation all the more heartbreaking for lil cas.
then, in a universe where they don't meet until theyre adults with separate lives, how that could look. like because of everything above, maybe it'd be expected that gil wouldn't give a person like cas a real chance, that he'd be especially difficult because the lack of history makes it that much harder to break down his walls. but then, what about exhausted gil, alone for the same reasons as usual, choosing it & all his connections with other people usually not extending beyond a single night. this guy, meeting someone who responds to gil's flirtation without going the obvious route and taking gil home for the same reason as everyone else-- but instead, just talks to him, and is oddly the nicest and easiest person to be around. gil's experiences creating expectations thatre shattered by a lil punky guy who doesn't make gil feel alone or like he's around for only one thing.
commitment-phobe gil meeting cas in his mid 20s and somehow agreeing to a date because his curiosity is honestly piqued by this surprise encounter. it seems like it shouldnt be shocking to have a decent conversation with a decent person, but a messy person can somehow manage to completely avoid any positive people. especially if they surround themselves with stoners, dealers, and club rats.
ive said it before but ig they really do have a "i can fix him" dynamic but it actually sorta works? gil isnt as messy, eventually lol. kinda the point.
but i love a circumstance of a guy being all "i don't do relationships, i don't believe in love, bachelor lyfe 4eva, ima fuck this whole city" and then going completely mushy because someone is patient and committed to him. gotchu now bitch... u DO relationship.. u DO believe in love, you are settling down and fucking one man only. i would say sorry but youre happy now bitch ✋caught in 4k

Moriarty the Patriot + The Final Problem
aka another unecessary essay from ya boy on how yuumori, instead of taking away from the original text, adds meaning and depth to it
Tumblr media
So I finally got around to reading the final problem after wading through all the memoirs of sherlock holmes and yes, I am in fact reading these because of yuumori. I wanted to see how it was portrayed, what the differences and influences from the original source were. I did end up getting incredibly attached to the original series too, so yeah... I'm glad to report that the original and adaption get along well.
And yeah, I have a lot of thoughts, most of them being just me generally praising yuumori. I think it was straight up genius how they pulled so much content from... well, frankly. The Final Problem was a 15 page short story tossed off by Doyle in order to have an excuse to be done with sherlock holmes, told from the perspective of someone who wasn't even there. And yuumori still managed to make it generally very accurate and complementary to the original, while still being, uhhhhh really fucking different, let's say that.
Read more because again, long essay
Just my observations on the final problem itself is that it is so underdeveloped and told from an outsider perspective. Because of that, so many questions go unanswered, and the reader gets a sense that they are only witnessing a very small part of what actually happened. Sherlock can't afford to go into detail on what Moriarty was even involved in, Watson isn't privy to what's honestly even happening most of the time, and Moriarty just... has this extensive network of organized crime that just isn't even talked about other than Trust Me It's Bad Bro. We don't know Moriarty's intentions, most of who he is, and more questions are honestly brought up than answered within the story. Sherlock knows, oh that's for sure, Sherlock knows what's going on and he has no fucking time to tell Watson. You get a sense that Watson himself isn't even telling all that went down.
So yeah, I can see where there's so much room to expand upon here, not even to change things or make it different because it would be cool, but there's so much that could be happening just within the realm of plausible deniability in the canon.
And I think that it's amazing how Yuumori chose to market itself that way- not as an adaption or reimagining- but that this was in fact the Real story, with Doyle's final problem being... honestly a bit of a cover up, a purposeful misrepresentation of a small slice of the full story. It lends itself completely to that, and I think that's amazing.
(One thing I do find funny is that in Yuumori the story "the final problem" is depicted as a full novella that could be published on its own... man it's not nearly long enough for that but I find it funny in any way)
Of course, there are elements of yuumori that are yknow, simply not realistically something that could have happened, but most of the story is actually within that range of plausible deniability since the canon is so vague and sparse. And since they state that things were changed on purpose to protect people and the moriarty plan, it basically covers that all as simply The Truth. It's well done, and very interesting, especially with the new anime ending taking them to Reichenbach itself.
Like, yuumori didn't even truly change the appearances of the characters, from the descriptions. (we're not counting the illustrations lol) like, Sherlock was never stated (as far as I can tell) to have a specific hair or eye color, hairstyle or such.... he was described as tall, thin, eccentric, messy, with like... long fingers and stuff. Man, yuumori did not go against that. With Moriarty it's different, though he was also reportedly Tall and Thin and Built Like A Yaoi Protag for some goddamn reason, he... you know, has these weird and unattractive features as well, which... in the context of Watson trying to portray Moriarty as unmitigated evil in order to protect the plan, were in this situation made up specifically to further the idea that he was just that.
Because of this situation, the Moriarty that is portrayed as yeah, a smart guy and a threat but seriously just A Bad Dude who seems to have no particular reason behind his actions save being A Bad Dude actually make more sense as a cover up behind a more dangerous secret of him having Real Feelings than the only stated reason being "he inherited being evil from his family". (like... watson, really?)
It explains the vagueness and the events and the weird connection between those two better than the original does, and that's really cool to me.
On their own, without yuumori to back me up on these things, reading this would have left me confused and depressed. But as a half truth immortalized as the real story, you get so much more out of it.
Especially these certain scenes:
When Moriarty just pops into Sherlock's house and they proceed to have a basically wordless conversation amounting to
"you know why I'm here" "you know how I'm going to respond" "well then" "here's date and time of our mutual destruction" "thanks I'll be there" "well I'll be off nice knowing you" "wow it sucks that we're enemies he's such a civil guy"
It just really adds something to that, don't you think?
And the subject of their fall itself, simply the fact that Watson wasn't even there. No one witnessed it. No one found even Moriarty's body. No one found evidence of anything at all.
All Watson could say was that Sherlock and Moriarty had gone up to the mountain together, Moriarty told Sherlock of his plans, let Sherlock write and leave a letter to Watson, and that they never came back down. So he came to the conclusion that they must have fought and both fallen off.... like, holding each other. Not really sure how they reached that conclusion, to be honest.
It doesn't even make sense, exactly told how it is. If Moriarty wanted to kill sherlock and survive, he would have just... brought a fucking gun. Or just pushed him off on the way up. As soon as he got him alone just fucking stab the man. It would have been that easy, but no, he had a whole ass convo with the man, they went up civilly side by side, and they stayed on the cliff a long time while Sherlock wrote that letter. Even then, Sherlock could have just waited to catch Moriarty off guard and pushed him off. But he didn't.
Why would they even have fought, if it was so scheduled? You telling me to believe that after this letter was written and moriarty stood there watching him sipping tea or whatever he was suddenly like "ok im ready to fight now", knowing they would both probably die, and if they were genuinely trying to kill each other and survive, that would even make sense?
Of course, these problems in the original stem just from Doyle no longer giving a shit and slapping this together after losing motivation for sherlock, he was obviously, not hinting at some great conspiracy in the slightest.
But damn, Yuumori really does change that all for you, huh. It adds a whole new layer of context to it. And I like it a lot, I like what they've done on their own, I like what they've done for the original stories, and I especially like what they've done telling the "real story" of this short, vague, mystery that otherwise leaves you feeling unsatisfied and confused.

Platonic flowey x reader where the reader is alot like yuri like,,,,
Yknow
yknow...
yeah you know,,,...,,,,,
I literally have to have alot of DETERMINATION to send this to you 💀
Sorry if I'm being a bother to you btw,,,,.,.,.,.,,,;,,,
Flowey With Reader Who Is A Lot Like Yuri (From DDLC)
Tumblr media
❝ No, you're definitely not bothering me with this. 💛💚 I enjoy writing your requests. And since they mostly consist of Flowey, it helps me get his personality better. I think so at the very least. And I hope I got Yuri's personality right, I'm always scared I'll get a character's personality wrong- ❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• It doesn't really matter to him how you act. To Flowey, you're just like any other person.
• That is what he thought when he first met you. After getting to know you, he didn't feel scared or anything. But sometimes you'd creep him out. Just a little.
• It seemed like you knew a lot about seemingly random things. Hey, how did you know how much HP this monster had? Maybe you did a reset and remembered? No...? Oh-
• And you knew a lot about the underground, despite being a human. When they asked you 'how' you stated it was from books. H U H what books?
• Oh but how pleasantly surprised was Flowey once he had learned about you enjoying horror. Maybe you two could actually get along?
• So at this point, he wasn't even surprised to have learned you picked up the knife from the Ruins.
• If you're insecure like Yuri, Flowey will be pretty much clueless on how to help you. He doesn't know what to do. He'll just try to remind you of some cool things you did, and if that doesn't work- welp
• Even before you were friends, Flowey would follow you around (like he does in the game). Only this time, once you're friends, he'll try to scare you. You turn around 'boo! ' there he is, the talking flower also known as your friend. But instead of getting the reaction he wanted, you just stay calm and criticise his technique of scaring you, like "oh wow you almost got me this time Flowey! If you just waited several more seconds, then maybe I would've been actually scared! "
• It is very clear that even as friends, or semi-friends, you're still a mystery to Flowey. He just can't seem to figure you out, but neither can you fully understand him so that makes you even.

ok here's prey drive benr, aka gord feeding himself to benr but this time benr is the feral one OwO and gord is fuckin terrified 😌 also took some inspo from ur fic with 'ill eat you whole, I love u so', hope u don't mind,,,, also some of the apex predator instinct stuff is inspo from the fic 'yknow, like nom?'
it's, uh, long, whoops.
---
benrs been avoiding him. gord didn't notice at first--his boyf, while cuddly af, still sometimes wants time alone like people sometimes do. so when benr decides to stay in the guest room with his laptop and psp and switch for the day, gord doesn't bother him.
benr comes to bed that night, and things seem fine. he hugs him close, and benr sings some SV, teal to pink? he's seen that occasionally, but isn't quite sure what it means-and is a bit reluctant to ask, since benr tends to try to swallow it or hide it when it happens. and sure enough, benr aims it away from him and tries to wave it away before choking the rest down.
gord doesn't like that benr still doesn't feel safe sharing some of his emotions with him, but he's not going to push. benr will tell him when he's ready.
the next day gord kisses him good morning, and the mystery SV makes another appearance. it's been happening more often for a couple weeks now, and gord is so curious as to what it means. but he doesn't hold onto that thought very long, bc benr is pushing himself out of their bed, and into the hall. gord hears the guest room door shut.
benr stays there all day.
gord goes in, once, to bring benr food. he's not entirely sure what's going on, but even if benr doesnt technically have to eat, it's still good for him.
the room doesn't have any lights on, and the curtains are closed, but it's not dark. the air is filled with SV. silt like guilt, red distress, pear fear, weirdly paired with pink to blue I love you and dove I'm in love. but the most there is of it is that teal to pink.
gord looks in wonder and concern for a moment, before turning his eyes to benr. benr is staring at him intensely, pupils wide. he feels like he's been pinned down by the gaze. being hunted. 'benr?'
benr blinks at the word, and snaps out of whatever it was. the heavy tension in the room dissipates, but now benr won't look at him. he sets down the food, and reluctantly leaves.
benr doesn't come to bed that night.
gord gets up in the morning, and waits until noon, but benr still has not come out of the guest room. he knocks, but all he gets is a frustrated whine and the sound of something *large* moving around, before he hears 'im good. please leave.'
something is very wrong. why is benr big? and why is he hiding it? gord hasn't cared about that for a while, and they frequently cuddle when benr is bigger and/or non human shaped. what's going on??
there's light showing from under the door. it's teal and pink.
something is wrong, and it has to do with that SV.
gord sits in the hallway outside the door, and thinks. teal can be healing, surprise, and hunger. benr clearly isn't surprised, he's distressed. and he's not healing anything. that leaves hunger, but that doesn't make much sense either. pink is generally affection, love. ...hunger-love?? the problem is, of course, that sometimes the combinations have nothing to do with the sole colors--but they sometimes do, so gords at a loss.
he wasn't going to contact tom, he really wasn't, but whatever this is was causing benr a great deal of stress and gord needs to know what's going on.
he texts tom.
g: hey can you help me with a SV thing? it's urgent, something is wrong
t: oh no! :( what's up??
g: benr won't come out of the guest room and is really distressed. the last time I saw him was a lot of negative SV and some love SV??? but mostly it was teal to pink, and idk what that is. there is more of it now, I'm sure it has something to do with what's going on
t: :( you know what teal can mean and what pink is?
g: yeah, the only thing I could think for that was hunger-love, but that doesn't make sense?
t: benr...has some nonhuman instinct, mr freman! you know that one line in where the wild things are, about love?
g: no?
t: 'ill eat you whole, I love you so'
g: ...tom does benr want to eat me
t: because he loves you!
g: then why not just talk to me about it?? why is he avoiding me?
t: have you noticed him looking at you strangely, or not quite being there?
g: yeah, and that's..related?
t: well! benr is also a big apex predator in his ecosystem! so hes got a prey drive. those two instincts, kinda, link up? and it's hard to avoid wanting to hunt the longer he doesn't act on the teal to pink!
gord paused a moment, putting a few pieces together. the guilty and stressed SV, the fear SV that must be fear of rejection, the love SV...
g: so. benr wants to eat me, lovingly, but because he doesn't want to scare me, he's been avoiding telling me. but now he wants to...hunt...me, so he's avoiding me so he can't?
t: that sounds about right, mr freman! :( he's probably really upset right now
g: yeah, thanks tom. I'm gonna to try to talk to him about it
t: good luck! :)
g: thanks
he put down his phone. okay. right. his boyf wanted to eat and hunt him. okay. that's a normal thing to deal with.
he takes a breath.
maybe, he should uh, take a bit and process, so he's level headed when talking to benr. yeah. that sounds good.
it's getting into late evening, when gord feels okay enough to try to talk with benr.
hes got a bit of a plan: he realizes that benr probably won't feel better until he's eaten gord, which is somewhat upsetting, but he also understands that it's meant well. 'ill eat you whole, I love you so'. it's only bc benr cares for him so much that this has happened; both the teal to pink in the first place, and the avoidance bc benr didn't want to scare him. so gord dresses in comfortable clothes, sweatpants and a soft sleep tee, and goes to the guestroom door fully prepared (as much as one can be) to get eaten sometime this evening. he's hoping he'll be able to calm benr down enough to convince him that it's ok for him to eat gord, that gord loves him, even if he's nervous about getting ate.
he opens the door, and all those thoughts fly out of his head. yeah, he's not going to have to talk at all, huh. fuck.
he waited too long to talk to benr, he realizes. and now benrs all instincts and gords going to get eaten whether he wants to or not.
gord open the door, and sees this: benr is sized up quite a bit. he's on the other side of the room, across the bed, with his upper body resting on it. the moment he registers the sound and movement, he's snapped his eyes toward gord, feral and dilated, and raised himself on his hands. his mouth opens just a touch, and gord knows it's so benr can get his scent better. he's starting to tense, like he's going to pounce.
gords mind is going at the speed of fucking light. he's going to get eaten, but if he doesn't do something, he's going to get lunged at, and he knows he's not going to be able to help running, not that it would help. just make it more terrifying, really.
but gord likes watching nature docs, and some information inserts itself to the front of his brain. predators don't like expending energy if they can help it. if prey is moving toward them, presumably unware of the predator, they'll wait to pounce until the prey startles, as to save as much energy as possible, with a shorter chase and jump.
if he moves calmly *toward* benr, and makes no sudden movements that could set off a pounce, he might get close enough to be able to-able to-to *feed* himself to benr, with no lunging, pouncing, tackling, or chasing involved. god, he hopes this will work.
only about a second and a half out from benr spotting him, he takes a step forward. benr remains focused and tense, but seems to be holding, thank fuck. okay, freman, let's do this.
he starts taking slow steps forward, but trying to look confident enough that benr won't think he's gonna spook and try to catch him. he's not looking benr in the eyes, and after a few steps starts softly speaking
'hey hey, we're good, we're chill, bud. you just keep riiiiight there, no need to pounce, I'm coming to you, you can stay there, it's okay big guy, we're chill...'
he continues forward, and benr slightly lowers his stance, as if ready to lunge, and gord feels his heart leap into his throat; but he's determined, and doesn't let himself falter in his movement. he's rewarded by benr now holding still in the new position, ready to lunge at him when he runs. gord isn't planning on letting that happen.
he approaches the edge of the queen size bed, and carefully pulls himself up, staying low on all fours and getting closer to benr, whose jaws have opened wider to catch gords scent, and catch gord.
'...yeah, that's it, easy, easy, you're doing great, just stay there, no lunging necessary, I'm coming, I'm coming, we're good, we're chill, it's okay, this is good...'
gord can't fucking believe he's doing this, or that it's actually working. christ. okay. he's getting real close, now, he needs to initiate this, being eaten, without being pinned and held down while it happens. the last time he was pinned he lost a hand, and if he's pinned now after all this effort, he's--well, he's probably going to cry, honestly.
he keeps approaching, and benrs pupils get larger, and he's a bit lower, and his mouth is opening more--gord can use this.
he raises himself slightly on his knees, keeping his movement steady, and his core burns a little with the effort of staying low and raising his arms simultaneously. he looks nervously at the fangs--which he notices are dulled, huh--and gently rests his forearms partly in benrs maw.
he waits, breath shaky, to see what will happen. he glances at benrs face and it seems he's stalled, a bit, instincts a bit confused about how he's got his prey but didn't actually catch it. some of the aggression in his stance is gone, too.
he seems to figure it out, though, bc only after a couple seconds, benrs jaws close firmly just under his elbows, and while gord knows there was no way he could escape anyway, it feels a lot more real and final with benr holding a bite.
but, gord notes, it doesn't hurt. won't bruise, even. just firm enough to hold him. he's been very nervous this whole encounter, but paradoxically he feels a bit more assured that he's going to be safe, now. benr may be under a hunting instinct at the moment, but he's clearly not aiming to hurt gord, so he's mostly confirmed that tom was right-the eating is affectionate, just intertwined with the prey drive.
still doesn't mean he's not scared, though.
benr opens his jaws just enough to draw him in deeper, and he feels the bed dip as benr climbs up and kneels on it. his hands come up, now unneeded to support him, and instead grip gords body.
gord breathes sharply at getting held, the grip not painful but firm, and after a moment relaxes and leans his weight into benrs hands. the effort of holding himself in that position was starting to hurt, so the support is appreciated, even if that wasn't benrs motivation.
he stays still, as benr continues swallowing. once his head is his mouth, teeth on his neck, he feels benr lift him off the bed and settle himself more upright while kneeling, getting a better angle to get gord down. gord just does his best to breathe through the instinctive panic, trying to assure himself that tom knew what he was talking about, and that benr hadnt hurt him, and that he was going to be ok.
it was hard to do when benr wasn't really acknowledging him, and gord really hoped that if they did this again that benr would be all there, and be able to reassure gord with touch and purrs and such that gord wasn't just prey. that benr was paying him mind, and that his fear mattered. right now, mostly down the throat of something that seemingly wanted only to hunt him, he was scared, even if it was benr.
the muscles of benrs throat pushed him down, and in a very short but also very long time, he was fully in benrs stomach.
gord breathed a sigh of relief. whatever happened next, he wouldn't be in danger of triggering a chase, anymore; he was fully caught.
at that, he started observing his new environment. it was soft, very very soft, plush. it was warm, and a touch humid. there was a bit of thick liquid, but it seemed to be SV. he could see a little bit, with the SVs glow, though it seemed the walls glowed some, too. he wasn't surprised to see the colors were teal and pink.
he felt benr move, lying on his side, and when gord shifted with the movement, benr rumbled with a deep purr. gord settled, and felt the walls collapse around him, not tight or even very firm, just...cradling him. he felt benrs arms come up and hug his belly, and therefore gord, and gord relaxed a bit more. boyfriend hugs were familiar, even if the rest of this wasn't.
he felt benr settle around him, his purr becoming softer. after just a few minutes, gord could tell that he'd fallen asleep.
gord was pretty exhausted, himself, actually. sleep sounded like a good way to wait out benr coming back to himself. hopefully it wouldn't take too long. and hopefully with some communication they could avoid this particular situation happening again.
---
it's very niche and specific, but like, it's like that sometimes,,
sometimes u just want fearplay but not the standard chasing kind, the tense and suspense can be fun :)
VERY VERY GOOD YES
