#I still think HH is the phoenix

headcanon of the day: HH risked the OP Squad's life on purpose.
As glass says here, Mat was acting openly suspiciously, everybody with a minimum of villain mindset (Leif, Lance), or used to observe and extract info from other people (Nevra) could have thought something fishy was going on. Yet they take a veeeery long time to realize it, what a damn good templar soldier lmao
The three tell Erika they think Mat is hiding something, but we don't know if they told HH. If they did, well, she's the one to blame as well. Instead, she ignores and sends them to Earth, with the guy they said not two days ago it was acting weird. I dunno maybe she thought it was the best and only way to dissipate their suspicions about isekai boy.
But most importantly: She also sends her sister, the one she wants to force the Phoenix title to. HC doesn't believe she's the Phoenix, so HH needs desperately to find a way to convince her she is. What is the best way? By checking one more item in that "what do you need to be the Phoenix" list.
And guess what? HH did it, HC could have died there, HH knew the risk yet she sends her anyway. But she didn't need to be there in the first place. For plot reasons? sure, she should be, but we know it was clearly possible to come up with something to avoid that, like idk, Nevra or Lance, considering how they're OP already? It's not like HC does something important when they get there, she was rather useless during the mission.
She was there only because HH wanted her to fulfill one more item in that list. And that's exactly what HC used to say about destiny/prophecies or whatever, it's suggestive, interpretations vary according to your biases, therefore, your actions also interfere.

Note
We were talking about Leiftan eailer, but now I'm thinking: What were your favourite moments/plots in your story?
I started writing the story in a more serious way to fix some canon parts that didn't resonate well with me.
I changed Leiftan's story a little bit, and tried to write down what he wanted to do with Crystal and Guard, and why- because I didn't understand how a person who loved kids and later loved Erika, could still focus on destroying the whole world. He just didn't seem like this type to me.
Ykhar's death, I made it more like an accident- Imo would never be with her friend's murderer.
The Oracle is the main, albeit tragic, villain here, mad from the constant flow of maana, unable to resist it.
I added whole fenghuangs rivalry for the Phoenix title (HH was one of the candidates, remember?), and I am kinda proud of my OC, the leader of Clan Li.
And I am specially enjoying writing Miko- I tried to explain why she is such a weak leader, and I enjoy writing her fears, how she tries to be better, and fail because the world around is collapsing.
Ah, I also let Ezarel kill Marie-Anne, because she tried to stab him. I like Ezarel and I like traumatising him moar.
We write for our pleasure, and that is the strange beauty of ff- even the most outrageous, silly plot can make us happy because it's our own story ;)

Sicktember Alt 3. - Cuddling On The Couch
Fandom: Ace Attorney Characters: Larry Butz, Miles Edgeworth, Phoenix Wright
Notes: I promised myself to make some yhnrmt crumbs so here they are. Married!Wrightworth mutually dating Larry. The three of them are sick, and there’s no sense in working out who gave this cold to whom; they’ve tried that once and it only exhausted them. What matters now is they have a cozy cuddle puddle on the couch.
     Miles was fast asleep on the right end of the couch, snoring like an old man, at the expense of the sleep of his husband and boyfriend. If he hadn’t been in such rough shape for the past two days, Phoenix and Larry might have held a grudge, but instead they both simply sighed.
“I don’t think you’ll be getting up any time soon.” Larry whispered as he leaned his head on Phoenix’s shoulder, careful not to create too tight a squeeze between him and Miles. “I hope you’re comfortable where you are.” He laughed as softly as he could.
“As comfortable as I can get when swallowing feels like sandpaper.” Phoenix wiggled himself free enough to be able to kiss Larry’s forehead. “Mm, you still have a fever, so maybe you should be staying put, too.”
“How’s he doing?” Larry glanced over to Miles. “We kept him up all last night, so he can’t be in good shape.”
Phoenix wiggled a little more so he could reach Miles’s forehead for a gentle kiss. He was impressed by Miles’s ability to sleep so soundly and snore so loudly, though he didn’t exactly appreciate the snoring directly in his ear.
“Oh yeah, he’s definitely not doing great.” Phoenix observed with a frown. “I’m glad he’s finally resting.” He rested his head on his husband’s chest, and Larry leaned over to make himself comfortable against Phoenix’s side. “We should probably keep it down.”
“Good ide– Hh!!”
“What was that?”
“I had to sneeze,” Larry whispered, “but it went away.”
“Better you than me.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Well, it’s just you’re less likely to wake Miles up if you sneeze while he’s sleeping.”
“I bet I could–”
“A’ashhchHUH!!” Phoenix’s sudden and very loud sneeze prompted a laugh from Larry, and neither of the two noticed their volume was waking Miles.
“You two seeb to be feeli’g better.” Miles observed before coughing into the palm of his hand. There was no sense worrying over proper covering, since it was just the three of them at home with Trucy now away for college. “Also, bless.”
“You’re awake!” Phoenix quickly sat upright, accidentally pushing Larry off of him. “Sorry about waking you,” he turned to Larry, “and sorry about pushing you.”
“Edgey, baby, we both mean the most respect when we say this, you really gotta do something about your snoring.” Larry pleaded.
“What do you mean ‘both?’” Phoenix raised a brow.
“You’re the one always comparing Edgey’s snoring to that of an old man, Nicky. It’s true, anyway.”
Miles pinched the bridge of his nose. Even with their colds having a firm hold on their voices, Phoenix and Larry still spoke with more volume than Miles could handle right now.
“I guess you could probably benefit from a decongestant.” Phoenix conceded. He looked over to Larry expectantly.
“Oh no, I’m way too comfortable right here. You said I had a fever, too.” Larry protested. “You suggested it, so you get up.”
“I would, but I’m stuck”
“Cahd we just… go back to sleep?” Miles sighed. “You two are probably dead tired. I’ll wait for you two to fall asleep to avoid waki’g you. How about that?”
“You’re so good to us, babe.” Phoenix kissed his husband on the cheek.
Larry made a small whine, and got a kiss as well.
Miles watched the two as they made themselves comfortable again, smiling as he watched the two most impressively drift off so easily. As he waited for a good time to close his eyes himself, his gaze wandered around the room, noticing all the medicine wrappers and used tissues scattered on the floor.
What a mess…
He hoped at least one person in this trio would recover soon, just so someone could tidy up.

My Thoughts on Certain RWBYtubers
Just gonna post this here to make this stuff known. I could also be completely wrong here. Go ahead and correct me if I’m wrong.
Fatmanfalling: I hate his videos. They are far too long with him just repeating the same fucking points over and over again. I would almost think they are long on purpose to make them hard to debunk as going through an hour and a half and debunking it point by point or analyzing it enough to properly condense it down is really hard.
But to be honest, I have a history with the guy. If you’ve seen that screenshot of his of a guy arguing about quality- that was me. I was not very mature when I began arguing in this fandom. I don’t really regret fighting him (he’s still a dumbass) but that doesn’t make what I did right.
Celtic Phoenix Productions: Maybe Fixing RWBY could be something if he would do something brave for once, remove all elements of RWBY and just go full on original. The lore and history videos could make something. But so long as it’s attached to RWBY as ‘RWBY but better’ it will never be anything but an inferior RWBY. Because to be something but better you have to conform to its niche because that defines what a piece of media is.
That’s why something like Berserk and TTGL can be so vastly different but still be great- they try to achieve different things. But with Fixing RWBY, it’s like Netflix’s Death Note and the original- doesn’t matter what qualities the first may have, it’s reliant on fulfilling the second and fails because it can’t. And I don’t think Celtic has enough humility to acknowledge that.
Calxyin: Her voice and demeanor give me a headache. Not likee one of frustration or hate but one of ‘your voice is too high and you’re too peppy’. I don’t talk about her much because it’s literally painful for me.
MuffinManDan: No idea if he’s still around but whether he’s positive or negative- I do not like him in the slightest. Unlike the others I mentioned or will mention where I can at least believe that they geniunely mean what they say, MuffinManDan’s actions proved to me he didn’t believe a word he said. He would misrepresent what the show said, what I said and what he said just to look good. And the moment it became more profitable for him to praise RWBY, he did just that.
MMD doesn’t even have what little credit I can give others.
Vexed Viewer: Vexed is what happens when you treat blatantly false crap as the second coming of Christ. His video tend to only work if you already agree with him or have no understanding of how media works. Seriously, his ‘Stupid For The Sake Of The Plot” videos break in half when you remember human error.
There was also that time where Vexed tried saying that Pietro putting part of his Aura in Penny and then calling her daughter was creepy...despite that being a common trope in man creating self aware creation stories. He also brought up race in that. Which...I have no idea how to interpret that as anything but racist. ... Moving on.
Unicorn of War: Political asshat who started sucking off the show when he felt pandered to (Bumbleby) and then stopped for whatever reason. His videos are also pretty simplistic and ill thought out whether good or bad. Also, he made Ciel Pietro’s daughter in his Volume 8 rewrite because, and I quote, ‘There’s the issue of a black man making a white girl as the default.’
... Remember when Monty said there was no Asia? I miss those days...
Hero Hei: Take everything I said about MMD, invert the flip about RWBY and add in clickbait and political bullshit. That’s HH.
Judgemental Critter and Twiins Iink: Grouping these two together-
Twiins Iink made a video about Adam stans not moving on, which is a stance I agree with...then made me play defense for them by how bad the video was. And Critter once said that scene of James in V7 E2 where he strides up to Oscar, thinking he’s Ozpin and clearly desperate for his leader...was ‘Dad energy’.
... And this is their average.
Overall- You should really just look for RWBY channels under 1k subscribers. They’re not likely to be super dumb or selling you what you want to hear.

I really liked that post you made about how Capcom feels about Narumitsu. And I'm wondering how do you think they feel about Narumayo? Personally to me it feels like they throw more hints at Narumitsu since with the other one if Takami wanted it to be canon he would of done it at the end of T&T. I also think the team could of made it more obvious in SoJ with Maya's big return but I never really saw the hints but I know I'm biased lol.
oh i’m glad you like my rambles haha;;
ahh... that ship,
well first, about the whole Takumi “wanting narumitsu to be canon” thing, its not exactly making them canon but have more fanservice leaning heavy towards narumitsu (which was declined by the director(?) who claimed, i sorta agree with, that the game did well even without the narumitsu hinting since in the first game they didn’t have that intention and it was pure coincidence that their relationship was just THAT deep and meaningful which is incredible lmao, Takumi and co managed to slip his warning and still put at least some of the hints in TT tho hhh-). so even then, i doubt the crew actually want the endgame to come so soon hh.
okay, back on topic. what i think about naru//mayo? yea, i’m not keen on that ship personally at all, actually i despise it. like, they first met in the office, in front of their dead loved one, Mia. Maya was 17, Phoenix was 24. you have Maya, who’s supposedly still in HIGH SCHOOL and Phoenix, who has GRADUATED COLLEGE, has a JOB, and most likely has PAID HIS OWN BILLS. from that point alone, it should already feel weird.
Tumblr media
Maya’s an adolescence, a teenager, she just lost her sister and barely grew up, in a way she’s still innocent, notice how she tend to ask random questions and or say things that she thinks makes sense or amusing, she tends to be naive too. its kinda like.. a child.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and Phoenix on the other hand, is a grown man. heck even Maya says he’s an “old fart”, they’re legit aware of their own age gap in game and outright say it. if anything, they both act like self-aware best friends/brother-sister than romantically. even Maya said it herself, she wants to be a good big sister for Pearl and Nick.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
now how about we ignore this obvious fact just for a little while and try to see it from only their interactions in-franchise. heres the kicker, you may not see it in game since they only lightly nudges about this ship (usually with Pearl, and was dismissed by Maya right after.), but in some of AA spin off mangas (and from what i heard, one of the stage shows), for some reason, this ship has their own hints despite being completely aware that Maya is a teenager.
Tumblr media
but its okay now don’t hold your breaths,
their “hints” are more of a one-off ish thing, most of the time a gag and not taken seriously, and unlike other ship per say narumitsu, where it actually affects their lives and changed it forever IN-GAME. “i care about Maya and understands her” and “i became an attorney because of you, Edgeworth and i don’t have any regrets” are both literally incomparable, especially given Phoenix and Edgeworth’s history together in-game canon.
Tumblr media
anyway, here’s some common arguments i’ve encountered about this particular ship :
“but Phoenix cares about Maya a lot! he literally went through a trial against a hitman and run through a burning bridge for her!”
“Phoenix blushed and goes red when Pearl says he’s Maya’s special someone and he stutters!”
“Well my parents had a huge age gap!"
“well, Maya is 18 in AA2″
“considering Maya is a christmas cake now, Nick better tap that”
“she’s an adult in AA6 tho”
now lets dissect each of these,
yes, Phoenix cares about Maya a lot he literally did cross a burning bridge for her but people seem to forget that this is the same man who turned his life around, abandon his dreams, study law for four years, and became an attorney to meet one man and willing to defend a girl who looks like his psychotic ex that nearly poisoned him in court. he literally would believe in his clients’s innocence no matter what, he’s by nature would sacrifice anything and even his life for someone. so its normal that he cares about Maya, but is it romantic? i doubt it, he cares about her safety and well being but does it have to be a romantic hint? no, of course not, he’s just very selfless for the people he cares about and Maya has no one to help her but Nick when she’s in trouble, he’s one of few adults she can trust and will help her out.
oh so blushing and stuttering due to embarrassment means having feelings now? and about the stuttering, he literally stutters around Edgeworth a lot lol. i’m starting to feel like people ships naru//mayo not because of their depth but because Pearl said so. Pearl finds them should be together and keep shoving the audience with Nick being “Mystic Maya’s special someone”, well if thats the case, they also explained why this happened, in-game. Pearl grew up very sheltered and among unhealthy marriages she just assumes a girl and a boy together means they’re dating and being “special someones”. she most likely just wants her cousin to be in a happy relationship unlike her parents where her father left both her and her mother but didn’t know any better because she was eight years old.
https://youtu.be/FGAqQkMEKNs?start=674&end=776
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now about the parent thing and taking it personal, well my parents too had a huge age-gap of 7 years. but how come is it okay? its because they met when my mum was already a career woman at 26. she’s already an adult when my dad met her. what does this mean? it means my parents were both adults when they’re together, this is why i still like GumMaggey despite their age gap so wide, they first met when Maggey has already had a career, supposedly in her 20′s, she’s a young adult, she can buy alcohol by herself, already knows whats right and wrong and has live life independently, not a still hormonal teenager who depends on one adult figure. did your parents date when your mum is in highschool while your dad is like in his mid 20′s? sorry to hear that.
as for the last three arguments, i don’t even want to touch any of them with a five-foot pole. are you listening to yourself? do you not feel like you’re a creep typing that?
let me give you a benefit of the doubt. yes she’s older and legally an adult, but are you really discrediting the fact they met when Maya was still in highschool? they met and became friends when she’s 17 and he’s 24. sure they barely met during disbarment era, but should that change anything? why should it? how should it? like this?
“Oh this is Maya, i haven’t met her in years but boy she sure has grown up can’t wait to date her since she’s legal now.”
because thats what that argument sounds like, YIKES.
you know? if they met under a different circumstance and Maya was like 19, i’d let it go. but they didn’t, they met because of a horrible loss, Maya, still in training, 17 lost her big sister and Phoenix, a rookie, at 24 lost his mentor.
Tumblr media
in conclusion, i don’t like naru//mayo at all
pairing them feels like pairing Edgeworth with Kay or Phoenix with Ema, just because they partnered in investigations, make playful jabs at each other, and saved each others’s lives before, people just think they like each other romantically despite their age-gap in first meetings (not to mention Kay sees Edgeworth as somewhat of a father figure, and she’s nearly 18 while Edgeworth is the same age as Phoenix). especially with how Maya, being a zoomer, calls Phoenix an “old fart” and just makes jokes about how so out-of-touch Phoenix is with the modern entertainment.
from observations, i have a huge hunch that almost all of them pair these two because :
1. Maya’s a girl protagonist so its a male protagonist x female protagonist type of deal and despise narumitsu because “yaoi”
2. AA6 she’s an adult so she’s legal which is damn creepy on its own, or last
3. because of Pearl shipping them in game despite being an eight year old and was so sheltered she thought a man and a woman being next to each other means they’re special someones.
either way, i only see them as best friends, sibling-like relationship with self awareness here and there since they tease the audience a lot with their gag “hints” in spin-off mangas and game.
Tumblr media
not only that, it kinda showcase how all male/female bond don’t have to be romantic, they can be just friends or familial and still hang together. another plus for the franchise right after encouraging moving on from ex partners. *glancing at Phoenix//Iris*
and as to the people who pairs this for some odd reasons, sometimes i just want to ask these questions,
“how would you feel if you’re in Phoenix’s shoes? met your mentor’s little sister at age 17 while you’re 24, would you feel romantically interested in this high schooler?” because i don’t, to me anyone 3 years younger than me is like a baby, how would Phoenix feel when Maya’s 7 years younger?
“also... why even? narumitsu and other less questionable pairings are RIGHT THERE in the open!”
but oh well people can like and pair whatever hhh,
and there you have it, my even longer rambling hahaha sorry;;
Edit : To add the final nail to the coffin, Phoenix outright has said that Maya’s like his kid, like a niece.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Edit 2 : remember that this is simply my personal take, you can somewhat use this to make yourself feel better about your pair nor simply just to hate on the ship itself but do not use this to dictate actual people what to ship and not to ship.
please don’t be destructive towards others.

Title: OUR ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE
Part 1
Y/N's POV
"Yes sir! I'll be there in a minute!!" I said to Brimstone
I am the new assistant for the agents.. Actually I was the adopted daughter of the leader of the agents.. Brimstone.. He is very strict to me by the way ... And I cannot argue more, he is a father to me..
And since I graduated to the academy, he accepted me as a major intern to assist Miss Killjoy but majority of what I do is to assist everyone, means all agent...
But recently the team develop a major problem, the duality..
There is other of "us", I don't think I have one but surely all the agent have ..
We were also able to create Kay/o to assist, of course "dad" or brim but morely to assist all agent ...
After the recent fight at the Map Bind, the three of them which was Ms. KillJoy, Phoenix and Ms. Viper return with the so called spike and a radiant defuser..
And of course with a confused phoenix..
"Y/N!! Help me find more information about this spike!!" KillJoy
"Ahh!! Yes! Yes!" I said
"What's with that look idiot!!" Yoru
"Phoenix got a look in the mirror" Viper
"Hmph, why are they look at us?!" Phoenix
"Are they really look like you?" I asked
"What? I thought you knew Y/N?" Killjoy
"Does your father didn't tell you?" Raze
"He did, but of course, I mean, does they really look like all of you?" I asked again looking at the agents who are currently at the hall
Killjoy, Raze, Viper, Sage, Phoenix and Yoru
"We'll talk about this at the Meeting hall!" Brim
Everyone look at the person who just suddenly talk..
"Yes!" Everyone on the hall
"Y/N call the others!" Brimstone
"Y-Yes sir!" I said
And I hurriedly look for the other agent who isn't at the hall
As I look for the others, a certain annoying sound ring my ears ..
'Yoru' I though and shake my head side to side
I followed the sound of the annoying sound..
And here I found it.. the blue tiny walking orb..
Me: *waiting*
Yoru: *teleported*
Me: *put my hands on my hips*
Yoru: *look shocked, then smirk*
"what's with that look?" I asked
"Are you waiting for me here, Princess?" Yoru
"Ahh, no not really waiting like that, and don't call me princess, Yo-ru-kun!" *Wink at him*
"Ahh, playing are we princess~~" Yoru
"Hahah, maybe next time, I'm quite busy at the time, and also don't use your powers here at base" I said
"Hai-hai~~~" Yoru
"Well see you later, Yoru-kun!" I said as I was about to go look for the other agents
"Aaa--hh w-wait!!" Yoru
"Hmmm?" I said as I look back at him
Yoru: *rubbing his head* *with a little red tint on his face*
Me:*confuse and tilted my head onto the side*
Yoru: *looks away*
"Wanna come and join me?" I said and then smile
"W-what?" Yuro
"Don't you want to?" I said
Yoru:*looking shocked*
Me: *look confused again then tilted head*
"I mean if you want to join me, I don't really mind, it will be easy to find the others" I said
"I mean two person is better than one right" I said as I smile
Yoru: *nod in agreement then follows me*
~~~a while later~~
"Ahh! Ms. Reyna!" I called
"Oh yess my little hermanita?" Reyna
"Ahh da--, I mean sir Brimstone needed everyone at the meeting hall ASAP!!" I said
"Alright, thank you for the information, little one" Reyna
Reyna: *about to go* -- *then look at us*
Yoru: *looking away*
Me:*confuse??*
Reyna: *wave her head side to side*
Me: *confused*
Yoru:*red tinted face*
"L-let's go look for others again" Yoru
"Ahh yes" I said
Then we continue to look..
As we walk thru the hall we saw Omen and Cypher
I suddenly hold onto Yoru's Jacket...
Yoru look at me, knowing that I was scared to the both of them..specially Cypher..
Yoru took the lead on telling them about the Meeting..
"Hey you two!!" He shouted since we were far away from the two of them ..
Cypher and Omen, look at us
"Meeting at the Meeting Hall, Urgent, so go ASAP there!" Yoru shout
The two nod and as I look at them.. Cypher wave at me, and I Hesitately smile and wave back while still holding Yuro's Jacket..
Then we walk away with Yoru leading our way out of the sight from the two..
"Thank you Yoru-kun!" I said happily smiling at him
"No problem" He confidently said
"So where are we going next?" Yoru continue
"Well usually, most of you guys go train yourself... So Training ground we goo!!" I said
Yoru chuckle to my sudden change of aura..
we gone to the training ground where we found the rest of the team
"Hi everyone, you were called to the Meeting Hall, ASAP" I said with a happy voice
"Aaa the litttle lamb has come to pick us up!!" Sova (Rushian accent)
"Aaa Yes, I am here to pick you all up, good sir" I said in the same Accent
"Well let's go little lamb?" Kay/o
We all look at Kay/O on his sudden reply to my comment earlier..
It unusual for him to do that.. specially knowing him ready for a fight..
"What?" Kay/O
We all laugh after that..
"Well let's go then, my friends" Sova
And we all nod and went back to the HQ..
~~~after a while ~~~
We all gather at the Meeting Hall, where most of the other agents are there ...
We were like children teasing each other as we arrive at the meeting hall..
Silent has come after we come sit on our perspective seats...
Brimstone
Kay/O infront Breach
Y/N infront Reyna
Killjoy infront Viper
Raze infront Sage
Jett infront Skye
Phoenix infront Sova
Yoru infront Cypher
Omen infront Astra
"Now everyone is here, I won't beat around the bush" Brimstone
"There is another world that has the same of us, but since our world have the power of Radiance, it has gives out world stability.." Brimstone
"Radiant power?" Cypher
"Y/N care to explain" Brimstone
Then everyone come to look at me
"Ah yes, well aa you see Radiance Power are natural power, such as like the power of Ms. Reyna, Phoenix, Jett, Yuro and Skye..." I explained
"The spike over there has able to absorb the power of radiance and as it absorb the power it creates particle that exploded as Ms. Killjoy and I discovered" I futher explain
"That's why Killjoy was able to create the defuser which also has a Radian power within it" Brimstone continue
"And the other us? What this power?" Phoenix
"To be clear, not just want the Radiant power but to destroyed our world, and I'm not going to let that happen" Brimstone
"Well, is this mean that we will go through fight?!" Reyna
"Yes, we are going, to protect this world" Viper
"Well is this mean we will go teams or group or something?" Raze
"Yes we all be going by group and rotating team.." Brimstone
"Rotating?" Breach
"Random and Rotating to all maps that has Radiant Power, Viper will look into this and Sage will assign your perspective teams.. " Brimstone
Everyone nod in agreement..
"And also I have a hard though with this but since we are still lack of people, Y/N, you will be starting your training tomorrow under Sova's Care" Brimstone
"What? Little lamb will start her training? For what?" Phoenix
"For becoming an agent" Brimstone
"What?! Are you sure?" Sage
"Hmm" Brimstone nod
"Well, don't you all want to bond with her? Little Lamb isn't little anymore" Reyna
"But isn't she just a normal chally?" Astra
"Well what's wrong with her being normal, she can be like us, more tech!!" Killjoy
"Yes!! I agree with her" Raze
"Then this is enough, you will start tomorrow, Rest the whole day for you to prepare" Brimstone
Everyone was quiet for a while..
"Anymore questions?" Brimstone
~~silent~~
"Then meeting ajure!" Brimstone
Then we all stand up and one by one go out of the meeting hall..
"Congratulations for becoming an agent, little Lamb!" Reyna
"Yeah, Congrats! Little Lamb!" Cypher
"Y-yes thank you" I said as I thank back all the agent who congratulate me
Then I head back to my room.. as everyone went to their perspective training or room..
As I head back I heard again the annoying sound..
Me:*exhale*
'Yoru' I thought as I smile looking for that Blue orb
~~THIS IS ACTUALLY A STORY I MADE ON BUT STILL ISN'T PUBLISHED BUT I'M STILL WORKING ON IT...
-what do you guys think? Should I continue?

Who’s right about the myths and what does it mean to be culturally Christian? (using Pan as an example)
Thanks to @will-o-the-witch for looking over the part on Judaism!! : )
Disclaimer:
The ancient world was incredibly diverse and ideas about the gods themselves and the myths varied a lot across space and time, which is something I’ll be mentioning again later. I feel like it’s important to have a better understanding about the myths since they’re so prevalent in culture. Essentially, while many people today may tend to think there’s only one “right” way to see the myths or a god this was and is not the case for many faiths. To show this, I wanted to use Pan and his parentage as an example. This also connects to a broader idea: cultural Christianity (which isn’t “bad” or “good”, it’s just something to be aware of). This isn’t about Christians either, just about how cultural Christianity can affect peoples’ perception of other faiths. Whether or not someone is Christian themselves, growing up in a Christian place can incorrectly inform how they learn about other faiths which can lead to misinformation being spread. Sometimes it can (even accidentally) reinforce very harmful ideas that can contribute to bigotry like antisemitism, which we have to fight against!  (Seriously, bigotry sucks! Also I hope the way I word all this makes sense because it’s something I care a lot about!)
So, who are Pan’s parents and who’s right?
Pan is often known as Hermes’ son, even the Homeric hymn to Pan says so (1). Hermes is widely known as the “second youngest Olympian”, which would make Pan among the very youngest if this genealogy is considered (2).
           However, that isn’t the genealogy everyone in the ancient world used to describe Pan. There are many variations on his parentage, and I think it’s worth going over because of how interesting it is. Who Pan’s parents are often changes depending on who you ask or where you ask it. For example, at times he has been called the son of Hermes (1, 3: pg90,151), if you ask 5th century Athenians he is the son of Chronos (3: pg42, 88), he was also known as the son of Zeus and twin of Arcas’ (3: pg43), the great grandson of Pelasgos who was a mortal, bother or foster brother of Zeus (3: pg113) and in Thebes he was believed to be the son of Apollo (3: pg180). He was also called Son of Aix (the solar goat too bright to look at, equated with Amalthea nurse of Zeus) (3: pg100). There were likely other variations too that were lost to history.
           One thing worth noting is that Pan originated in Arcadia and before the Battle of Marathon in 490 BCE, his worship was mainly preformed here and it was only after that battle that his worship spread widely to the rest of Greece (4, 5). So, the myths of Pan from Arcadia are typically older and reflected older views that worshipers held of him. One example is that Pan helped Zeus in the war against the titans and these myths point to Pan’s father being Chronos (or at least placing him before Hermes’ birth):
 Pan has been described as “the source of that "panic" fear with whose aid he helped the gods in their war against the Titans …” and the son of Cronos and a she-goat (3: pg42). In fact, Aeschylus believed Pan to be two gods: both of which had the power of panic and one of them fought against the titans with Zeus (3: pg42) this is interesting because in other myths Pan was able to split up into a swarm of pans, so Pan being a multiplicity  of gods and also a single god isn’t unheard of (3: pg100). Overall, most people understood him to be one god (like we do today), but this just shows how much diversity there was in how people saw him.
And in Egypt he was viewed similarly to the Pan who fought in the war with the titans (as one of the oldest gods):
“…the Egyptians Pan is considered very ancient and one of the eight gods said to be the earliest…(6)”
Here he was identified with the Egyptian god Min, which may seem a bit problematic to some because otherwise they were revered as different gods (6). However, the practice of identifying gods with other gods (aka syncretism) was not uncommon in the ancient world; Hekate-Artemis, Selene-Hekate, and Selene-Artemis were identified with each other commonly (7, 8). Other syncretisms were between Isis and Demeter, Isis and Persephone, Isis and Aphrodite, and Isis and Venus (9: pg 20). I am not a classics student, but what I have taken away from this is that the identity of the ancient gods is somewhat fluid and many worshipers could have differing and even contradictory views without either of them being “wrong”, even though some likely did argue or disagree to some extent (6). I’m not claiming there wasn’t debate in the ancient world about the gods, there definitely was. What I’m saying is that people did not fight to discredit new or different ideas just because they conflicted with already established ideas. There was a great deal of variation in how people worshiped and most weren’t interested in a one “right way” to do things.
           This isn’t only an ancient practice: it still happens today in Shinto in general and with the kamisama* Inari Ōkami (稲荷大神), who has been portrayed as a group of kamisama, as masculine, androgynous, and feminine (10). So in general this practice of seeing kamisama (or supernatural beings, or gods) in many different ways with acceptance is more common than one might expect (10, 11). This also happens today in Judaism, where debate is very common:
“Nevertheless, the general trend throughout Jewish history is to value debate and not to stifle it, and the history of Jewish texts supports that trend. (12)” Some examples of this are how many Jewish people debate the Talmud (a religious text) and how there are many different sects of Judaism.
          One important thing for people who are interested in this subject and were raised in a Christian culture (even if they aren’t religious) is to not overextend the characteristics of Christianity onto other religions ancient or modern (this is often accidental, which makes it even more important to be aware of it). This is relevant to both ancient and modern religions such as Shinto and Judaism because misunderstanding these faiths can contribute to terrible things like antisemitism and xenophobia (more so with Judaism). So, we need to guard against bigotry like that by being open to learning and changing our opinions when they are wrong both for learning and fighting bigotry.
          In fact, one scholar noted that even in Arcadia Pan’s cult and myth were not standardized although what I have mentioned before was certainly the more popular (13: pg 63) So, even though Herodotus heard from people in Egypt who worshiped Min, it is not unheard of or unreasonable to understand that some people did understand him that way. To answer the question I asked earlier: each myth about Pan’s parentage has some element of truth to it and none of them are completely “right” or “wrong”. For example, Hermes being Pan’s father echoes the fact that both of them are liminal deities and usually are shown being close to mortals (3: 178).
Conclusion:
          Pan is commonly considered the son of Hermes, however there was immense variation in how others saw him, both across space and time. One specific idea- that Pan helped Zeus in the war against the titans and that he is among the eldest of the gods- would contradict the Hermes genealogy and was prevalent in some areas. This is the case in Egypt where he was conflated with the local god Min. While this could seem confusing to modern readers (both the Min thing and the various genealogy thing), many faiths both ancient and modern do not push for one “right way” of seeing things and this is important to understand when learning about these things.
              Another way of looking at this concept is the idea of cultural Christianity. It does not matter if a person is religious or even Christian, by growing up in a culturally Christian place their assumptions about other faiths are automatically informed by Christianity, which does not reflect most other faiths. This is not good or bad, it’s just something to be aware of and work around so that we can better understand these other faiths. It is especially important to keep in mind today as misunderstandings about religions can contribute to dangerous bigotry like antisemitism, which we must stand against!
*In Shinto kami (or kamisama) are supernatural beings who inspire awe, they are the main object of worship in Shinto. Please don’t call Shinto kamisama “gods”, it’s inaccurate and doesn’t represent how people see them. Due to how Shinto and Japanese mythology are different from Western mythology we need to take care when talking about it to keep it in its original context.

Not sure whether I'll manage to finish BoS someday, so let me spill the beans about the plot of future chapters, before my writing block and lack of discipline (and hope) run me over lol Some details I've already talked about, some I have not.
-Huang Hua was the responsible for bringing Seihai back.
-How? Seihai turned herself to stone, but after her 'death' we notice how Huang Hua still thinks about her, and even sees her sometimes. The thing is: when dragon-Lance breaks free from the crystal, HH medidates, then collects the fragments scattered around the room and no one knows that she's been charging them again with her own energy.
-It's not enough though, she also needs the energy of an aengel/daemon (she uses Leiftan's in secret, in order to avoid using Erika's, but well... he flees), and of a dragon. Lance's somewhere unknown, Alajea, Colaia, and Enthraa are dead, her only choice is Seihai, after all her body is still intact and because of the petrified state she wasn't not even given a fenghuang burial, she only needs to bring Seihai's soul back and guide it back to her body. Those images that Seihai saw during her petrified state were result of HH's ritual.
-In short terms, HH's sacrificed her title by disrespecting the lines between life and death (a parallel to the kitsunes who aren't appreciated for doing that either) in order to create a replica of the crystal for Eldarya's sake, that's why she's enforcing the Phoenix title to her sister, somewhat projecting into her. HH herself didn't think she would be capable of doing such ritual, but well, let's remember the weird feeling Erika had while visiting HH's mind in TO. The "omg I'm suuuuuch a good person" people are more often than not, the most dangerous and that's the idea with HH in BoS, good people are more easily corrupted in comparison to who is already labelled as a piece of crap, precisely because of how good people see themselves as better than the others. They easily fall from grace because of their pride and arrogance.
-Problem is that HH didn't realize the risks of messing with dragons. With the ritual, she'd also open some sort of portal to the souls of other dead serpents. Till now, we see two serpents in action: Corra the celtic serpent goddess (in Seihai's dream), and Coatlicue, the aztec mother goddess (when she intercedes for Leiftan). There's also, ofc, Tiamat, she appears the first time briefly when the Advisors test Seihai. Corra was more the "quiet observant" type of goddess, but Coatlicue was Leiftan-biased thanks to her own story with aengels/daemons.
-Erika however ends up corrupted because of HH's lack of trust in her and her "I won't tell you things, even if you're my friend" behavior, without realizing HH was actually trying to protect Erika. It was better to use Leiftan's energy than Erika's. That was an important part of the reason for why Leiftan didn't access his powers: his attachment to Erika, but also HH's ritual draining him.
-Tenjin kicks Erika out of the north the moment she transforms and proceeds to fight Seihai. It's part of his development here, he could have gone after Erika and dragon-Lance, but he stayed with Seihai and took care of the wounds caused by the fight. Actually his character journey could fill a post too.
-At the end, with her failure of a replica, Huang Hua tries to make up for her actions and uses her life force to keep the portal open. She remains there near the mushroom circle completely still, her aura shining brightly to give time for other faerys to come and cross the portal with them. Erika goes first to guide them on the other side and Nevra is the last one to cross. When he turns to her and ask her to come, the portal is already closing and he can't reach her anymore (it will be one of his traumas on earth btw, he will never forgive himself for not being quick enough to pull her, iho he could have saved her) and her last thought is Ewelein. From the start, HH had nothing more to lose, giving her life for Eldarya was the least of her problems.
-That's the ending I imagine for them and the same happens with seiten, they die in the north after forcing the kitsunes to cross with the royal family. But my heart is too weak for that, I want them to have a happy ending aaaa lmao

Can someone who already has finished last episode can tell me- is there a chance that Erika was arcastic when thinking how dear HH is to her? Because here, above, she quickly recognise who was responsible for shock and Lance-drama. So... perhaps there is still hope for Erika to be smarter than we give her credit?
I am still not over disappointment that is ANE. While playing both TO and ANE on diff accounts I see that ANE is better written- technically. Dialogues are better. It’s much less... stiff? More natural. I think that I see differences between how characters are written (there is a difference in speech between Jamon and let’s say, Zifu, and I do not mean that Jamon speaks... jamonish), and it’s more natural.
However, TO made more sense. Characters were well... in character. Sure, it was easier, as ANE is sequel and should stick to characters AND history, but still. If someone was meant to be a hot tempered leader, others noticed that. If someone was loyal to fault, the only way for them to betray was to blackmail them. In ANE it’s a bit more focused on labels. Mathieu is a bimbo. Huang Hua is a great leader. Lance and Nevra are awesome, seasoned warriors, and noone around questions those statement.
I am watching HH and cannot believe my eyes: surely everyone around her should see that her decisions are bad?
Mission team- horrible, asking for big troubles. Lance’s drama- same. It’s a bit contra with how HH was portrayed in TO, but let’s say it’s a different story to be a beloved leader of clan, and be a person responsible for safety of world and forced to do unpopular decisions.
So let’s say that HH is a bad leader. That’s cool, can be interesting. She can be a good person, making wrong choices (like Miiko, who was a bit of a tragic hero, much more than Erika). She can be a bad leader and bad person (Dark Phoenix theory).
But surely, surely- other smart characters should notice that too? Lance? Leiftan? Ewelein (she was never blinded by her feelings apart from her dislike of Erika, she still noticed Ezarel’s faults)? Even Zifu, a person so rightous would never want his “daughter” to fail. There should be doubt, atempts at correcting her ways, sadness. Remember Kero, who was so loyal, and yet still questioned Miiko’s actions?
Sorry for mistakes, life is pretty... shitful nowadays, and I only have strenght to do things half-assed.

Requested by @snotslime2:  what about miles or phoenix trying to hide a cold from the other
:3c
     There was nothing out of place that could be taken as unusual within Miles’s morning routine. Perhaps the effort he put into perfecting it in itself could be what was out of place. Had it not been his and Phoenix’s first trial as a married couple, he may have just swallowed his pride and resigned himself to a day at home, welcoming pampering from his husband with open arms.
To think he had rid himself of his habit of hiding any sign of feeling unwell years ago, when he had come to the conclusion that he needn’t continue the admittedly harmful obsession with meeting the standards of his former mentor. Just this once, he told himself. Phoenix wouldn’t notice; after all, he was so caught up in his own excitement for the trial that he almost used Pess’s brush for his hair this morning.
“Your tie is lopsided, love.” Miles adjusted his husband’s tie out of habit. He may have stopped himself if he had not already taken the precautions to ensure Phoenix wouldn’t catch anything off about his face, even up close.
“Thanks. It feels like we’ll both be making a first impression today, huh?” Phoenix stared at Miles’s face too long for the prosecutor’s liking, but said nothing.
“I believe we will, yes.” Miles chose his words carefully as a means of avoiding his voice potentially incriminating him. “Today our best foot forward is absolutely required of us.” Perfect. He could keep this up.
“You’re even more eloquent than usual today.” Was that too much? “I’ll have to follow your example in the courtroom today. Do you think there’s a fancier way to say ‘Objection?’” Phoenix chuckled.
Miles certainly hoped there was. Such a word would be off limits if he couldn’t excuse himself for some preparation beforehand.
“Shall we head to the car?” Miles was hesitant about driving to the courthouse with Phoenix in the car with him; it was terribly risky. However, it was far too cold out to have Phoenix ride his bike without possibly freezing his fingers off.
He just needed to keep both his and Phoenix’s eyes on the road for the ride there; the ride home, he could let his guard down. That was an easy goal. right?
“Hhr’rsssSHH! Hur’rrSSHH!!” Miles’s nose didn’t quite agree with the cold air let in from opening the garage door.
“Bless you.”
“Looks like we’ve let the garage get a bit dirty.”
Phoenix stared at him again. Miles really didn’t need to think of an excuse for just two sneezes, did he?
“Sounds like you’re pretty nervous about today, huh?” Yes, nervous. Of course. If that was what Phoenix concluded then that’s what Miles’s excuse shall be.
“Quite, actually.” Miles let Phoenix into the car first before sliding himself onto the driver’s seat.
“You’ll do great, even though I’m going to win.” As long as Phoenix kept up that confidence that consumed his attention for the duration of the car ride, Miles should survive this just fine until he and his husband were just far enough apart for Phoenix not to notice something was up. “I have both Apollo and Athena helping out on my side.”
Lovely. Phoenix alone could see right through Miles if he didn’t keep his guard up enough, but now Phoenix had reinforcements who could easily knock down the walls Miles was getting so comfortable behind.
The entire drive to the courthouse now involved Miles’s palms sweating against the steering wheel. He spent about as much effort and energy timing his sniffs to the crescendos of the music playing on the car radio as he did keeping an eye on the road.
“This is it, babe.” Phoenix gripped Miles’s hand tightly as soon as the two left the parked car. “We’re going to show the judge we still have it in us to face each other in court.” That depended on what ‘it’ was. “We’ve never gone easy on each other before and we won’t back down now.” Both Phoenix and Miles knew that was only a half truth, given Miles’s occasional throwing Phoenix a bone in a few notable cases.
Miles tensed up as he felt his nose run with each step, only relaxing enough to give his husband a reassuring smile.
“Boss!”
It was just Miles’s luck that he had no time to excuse himself before his husband’s protégés greeted the couple hardly a minute after entering the building.
“You two sure are early.” Phoenix smiled, pulling Miles a bit to prevent him from excusing himself silently. “I know you’re nervous, but you could be polite enough to greet the defense council. I thought you’d know better. Are you feeling alright?” He chuckled, but the joke caught Miles off guard.
“A-Apologies.” Miles stiffened and shook the hands of both Athena and Apollo. “A pleasure to have both of you here.”
“Same to you, Mr. Edgeworth.” Athena grinned. “I hope you know that just because you and the boss got hitched, we won’t back down.”
“That’s actually why we’re here.” Apollo crossed his arms. “He needed backup in case you won him over with affection or whatever.” He needn’t worry. Miles wasn’t about to risk giving Phoenix his cold (which, as far as anyone was concerned, he did not have) just to get an easier shot at a guilty verdict.
“Hey! What happened to our confidentiality agreement?” Phoenix sounded like he was joking, but knowing him, he likely did discuss something like that with his colleagues.
“Could I be excused for a bit?” Miles cleared his throat as casually as he could.
He heard Phoenix whisper something to his colleagues before the three nodded and he was free at last.
For a while, it was going so well. He made it to the restroom uninterrupted and dug through his pockets for a handkerchief that would be soft enough to leave the skin of his nose unscathed.
There was no handkerchief.
Okay, he had to have a pack of tissues on hand. As long as he was careful, he could manage... Only the pack he found was just the empty plastic he had meant to dispose of whenever he had used the last of it.
Out of desperation, he very slowly and carefully used a paper towel to tend to his nose, only to very quickly regret it. Just the softest brush of the rough texture was enough to leave his nostrils sore, not to mention pink.
At least he could breathe through his nose somewhat better, and hopefully speak clearly enough for the first half of the trial. He slowly pulled the restroom door open so he could leave unnoticed.
He could do this. He could do this. He could--
“Hey, babe. You finished with whatever you needed?” Phoenix showed his husband a wet spot on his suit. “Apollo forgot he was holding a cup of water when doing his ‘chords of steel’ and all that.” He laughed sheepishly. “So I needed to excuse myself, too. You wouldn’t happen to have your handkerchief on you, would you? The paper towels don’t seem to do a very good job cleaning up.”
“I do not, no.” Miles probably answered that question far too quickly.
“That’s a shame.” There Phoenix went, staring again. This time he had something to stare at, too, much to Miles’s dismay. “Is that why your nose is, uh...”
“Yes.”
“Whatever you used instead kind of made it look like you’re getting a cold.” As wonderful as it was for Phoenix to be just out of reach of the truth, keeping up the charade was only contributing to Miles’s growing fatigue.
“That would be because I ab.” At this point, Miles merely shrugged off the effects of his congestion creeping back in with a vengeance.
“What?” Naturally, Phoenix’s immediate response was to kiss Miles’s forehead, as was the norm when he had the slightest inkling that his husband was unwell. “Why didn’t you say so? I could’ve had Apollo and Athena fill in for me and I’d make you some tea and--”
“That’s dot at all decessary, sweetheart. I’ll survive a trial with a cold. Just as I always have.” Miles turned up his nose and sniffled thickly. “You're dot at all ode to talk.”
“Yeah, and that’s why the judge isn’t going to let you stay.” Leave it to Phoenix to be the one to kick-start the judge’s strict sick leave policy. Just about every situation Phoenix found his way in somehow led to some drastic change in the trial process, often at the expense of prosecutors just looking to do their job. “Would you rather him have you escorted out by a bailiff?”
Miles sighed through his nose and shook his head.
“Then I can ask Apollo to make use of that favor Gavin owes him for beta reading his memoir. I think he said Gavin owes him a hundred favors for that, too.”
“Love, I--”
“Don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone while we’re leaving early. There’s always the ‘Trucy has a dentist appointment’ card.”
“Dishodesty is highly-- Hh... Hhu’rrSSHHOOH!”
“Inappropriate for court, I know.” Phoenix put his hand on his husband’s shoulder. “But so is showing up sick after I kinda, well, made it pretty hard to do that.”
“To put it lightly.”
“And to put it lightly, you’re looking more and more at death’s door as you keep fighting to stay here.” Phoenix planted another forehead kiss. “Come on. Let’s get you home.”

This question will be NSFW. Phoenix and Miles are 35 now. As grown men, do you think they had s*x (not with each other I precise). Phoenix seems pretty innocent back then when he dated Dalhia/Iris but during his disbarred years, I can see him having not serious but mature relationships. For Miles, it's hard to tell if he's still virgin or not. It's seems like the kind of guy who wants to have his "first time" with someone he really loves... what do you think?
/ cw NSFW, mentions of sexual activity
ah, well in most depictions seems like they both have one-nights now and again and i guess thats realistic... on that part of the world hhh.
perhaps i can buy the idea that Phoenix do that type of thing in his disbarred days (its like 7 years long lol) but i like to think he just stick with the “classic hand” more often than trying to go out and date anyone, not only he got a responsibility to raise a kid on his own, he probably still have a slight fear with pursuing some stranger? idk hhh.
as for Edgeworth, i don’t see him as sexually active? but not completely inactive either, he got hormones kicking in now and again he gets wet dreams etc but he doesn’t go to bars and do that stuff? like its not his priority hh at least to me, so maybe he uses his hand too... very rarely. idk it may sound unrealistic and maybe i’m being naive but i live in a small part of the world where this kinda stuff is taboo, you gotta marry before you have your “first time”, and you can even get arrested for doing this without marriage permit so i guess that plays a factor in my views to it being completely normal, to me of course.
in conclusion? perhaps i can see Phoenix having one-night-stands but.. personally i’d just see him being on his own with his hand, same with Edgeworth but barely. i have this funny idea that yes i know he’s opposed to marriages (technically, specifically to women in original Japanese context bc same sex marriages is still not legal in most of Japan), but i bet he’d be one of those who’d pull the “wait for marriage” excuse lmao
but its not like this matters, this doesn’t affect their actual relationship dynamics whatsoever, they’re still the wholesome endgame. the smut stuff and their bedroom games are simple thoughts i’d like to keep for myself like a bonus feature hhhhh.
(also apparently i'm probably like the super minority who has this boring and traditionalist view on their sex life so don't think too much about it hh, almost all nrmt fans i see are the complete opposite of mine lol)

Healthcare Starts to Zoom Along
Tumblr media
By KIM BELLARD
A year ago, if you’d used or even heard about Zoom, you were probably in the tech industry.  Today, if you haven’t used Zoom, your friends or colleagues must not like you very much.  COVID-19 has made most of us homebound most of the time, and video services like Zoom are helping make that more bearable.
And, thankfully, healthcare is finally paying attention.
Zoom was founded in 2011, poking along under the radar for several years, overshadowed by competitors like Skype or WebEx.  For the entire month of May 2013 it only had a million meeting participants.  Even by December 2019 it could boast “only” 10 million daily users.
Then — boom — COVID-19 hits and people start staying at home.  Daily users skyrocketed to 200 million in March and as many as 300 million in April (well, not quite).  Daily downloads went from 56,000 in January 2020 to over 2 million in April.  Zoom is now used by businesses and families alike, drawn by its simplicity and ease of use.
By all rights, we should be using WebEx for business video calls and Skype for personal ones.  Both had been around longer, offered credible services, and still exist.  But both were acquired along the way, WebEx by Cisco, and Skype ultimately by Microsoft.  As with its acquisition of Nokia, once acquired Microsoft didn’t quite seem to know what to do with it.  Each left openings that Zoom plunged through when the pandemic hit.
Zoom’s success has not gone unnoticed.  Google introduced Hangouts in 2013, Duo in 2016, Meet in 2017, with Hangouts and Meet aimed primarily at businesses using its G Suite.  Late last month Google announced it was making Meet available for free to anyone with an email account.  Google claims Meet now has 100 million daily users, up 30 times since January.
Meanwhile, Microsoft had been pushing its business collaboration service Teams, and in COVID-19 times is now trying to broaden its reach to consumers, extending Teams to its consumer Office 365 subscription service.  While Microsoft insists Skype is booming, with over 40 million daily users, it looks like Teams is the future.  A spokesperson told VentureBeat:
For now, Skype will remain a great option for customers who love it and want to connect with basic chat and video calling capabilities.  With the new features in the Microsoft Teams mobile app, we see Teams as an all in one hub for your work and life that integrates chat, video calling, [and the] ability to assign and share tasks, store and share important data with your group, [and] share your location with family and friends, whereas Skype is predominantly a chat and a video calling app platform.
Then there is Facebook.  Last month it launched Messenger Rooms, which allows for up to 50 people at a time on a video conference call.  It is a direct response not only to Zoom but also to life in a COVID-19 world.  CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: “Video presence isn’t just about calling someone.  It is starting to be a fundamental building block of a private social platform with lots of new use cases.”  The service is free and does not include time limits.
Zoom gave competitors some openings.  Its security measures left something to be desired (although Zoom claims to have now addressed), allowing “Zoombombing” to become a thing.  Google, Microsoft, and Facebook have all stressed the security features of their video platforms; e.g., Microsoft’s new Teams ad emphasizes its security.
Healthcare hadn’t ignored video conferencing.  Let me rephrase that: video conferencing hadn’t ignored healthcare, with companies like TelaDoc, AmWell, Doctors on Demand, and MDLIVE doing their best to make telehealth a standard part of healthcare.  With certain exceptions like Kaiser Permanente, though, telehealth seemed like healthcare’s stepchild, beset by reimbursement issues, licensing restrictions, and simple inertia.
As recently as last year, it was estimated that only 1 in 5 physicians used telehealth, and even that reflected dramatic growth.    Only one-third of hospitals had a telehealth option.  But the coronavirus pandemic changed all that.  Any kind of “elective” visits or procedures were limited; The Commonwealth Fund found that in-person ambulatory visits dropped 70% from mid-February to mid-April.
HHS has actively promoted telehealth, along with many private health insurance companies.  Not having potentially sick people come into offices, exposing both other patients and healthcare workers, seems like a very prudent thing during a pandemic, and as both clinicians and patients get used to telehealth visits, many believe they will persist after the pandemic.
Zoom saw the potential in healthcare long before COVID-19, introducing Zoom for Telehealth (now Zoom for Healthcare) in 2017.  It offers “HIPAA/PIPEDA enabled plans” for healthcare organizations, and claims customers such as Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Magellan Health, although one suspects that not all patients who are using Zoom to communicate with their physician are doing so with a Zoom for Healthcare platform.
Similarly, Google specifically mentions “hospitals supporting patients via telehealth” as one of the uses for Meet, and Microsoft boasts that “Microsoft Teams can help healthcare providers conduct virtual visits,” enabling “simple, secure collaboration and communication with chat, video, voice, and healthcare tools in a single hub.”  That new Teams ad includes a healthcare customer as one of its four featured Team clients.
Not to be left out, Epic is reminding customers that its EHR can also be used to provide video visits with patients, a service it had previously rolled out with several telehealth vendors, including AmWell.  Epic is now working with Twilio to build its own telehealth solution.
Stay-at-home restrictions are already starting to be lifted (even if it is not clear we’re ready), allowing more of us to get out more often, even for healthcare services.  We’ll be able to see our friends and family again, go back to work (although whether we’ll give up remote work remains to be seen), and start using the healthcare system in-person again.  It’s possible that Zoom has reached its zenith already, and the competition between it, Facebook, Google, Microsoft is a zero-sum game on a declining customer base,
But I don’t think so.  We’ve now seen more of the world that broadband promised us over a decade ago, and we like it.  With healthcare, though, all too often it is about the money, not our convenience or preferences.  I just hope that healthcare learns its COVID-19 Zoom lesson.

I don't think they would kill Huang Hua. The outcome of this would be terrible cause she's the favorite to be the next Phoenix/ Leader/ whatever, right? I mean, hello apocalypse XDDD But I can imagine the current leader of the fenghuangs dying somehow and Huang having to take their place without finishing her training. It would be interesting if Huang took Erika with her to help Huang lead her people for a while. I would like a break from the guard and then maybe a time skip? I dunno XD
I know HH said that Gardienne could come back with her at the temple if she wanted to in ep 15 and she also volunteered for a mission there back in ep 13, so going with HH to the temple sounds like a plausible idea. And I remember I really wanted to go there after ep 13 bc I couldn’t stand being in the Guard anymore lol
but now, with the other guard members “officially accepting” Gardienne as one of them, I wonder if she’ll still want to leave HQ ? Even tho she did say in ep 14 that she would leave and stay with the Fenghuang if she was presented with the opportunity to. Maybe she’ll go there for the mission and then decide after that.
