#mine #origami #jellyfish #that was what the hexagons were for did you guess ? :) #original model is by Beth Johnson and only the bell/umbrella is in one single sheet (hexagonal) #the tentacles are all added separately #I wanted to see if I could do it all with one sheet of paper so I used the exact same hexagon CP for the bell and simply placed it #at the center of a bigger square of paper #pretty glad of how it came out #tentacles would need some cleanup if I ever fold this again and I could workshop a frillier edge for the bell as well #still really nice this is the most elaborate modification of an existing model I've made #if you want to see the original model it's in origami aquarium by Makoto Yamaguchi p.200 #it looks so cute... teensy jelly #I used elephant hide paper (my enemy) to use up this roll i've had #i thought it'd at least be nice to collapse the hexagon tessellation which it was but that's really the only nice part asdfgh #if I fold this again I'll use smth thinner so the tentacles aren't as bulky #and to hell with the cleanliness of the hexagons #honestly the paper tension works in your favor for thoses #they get tightened when you round out the umbrella instead of flattened out as I feared #so the elephant hide really isn't needed... as usual! #anyway enjoy :3

wondering about Frank and insects but specifically about how it looks like the WH insects are highly stylized, so does Frank even know anything about real butteflies/insects?

& if he saw a real one, would he recognize it? are all of the species names he applies to the WH bugs real, or are they all made up like "Vibrant Eyespot" or "Fluttering Heartwing"?

and then there's the question - does the neighborhood have some of the more 'undesirable' bugs like moths, worms, roaches, spiders? does it have bugs outside of the generic groups of beetles and butterflies? like are there mantids? leafbugs? dragonflies? weevils? or are those too specific/complex/not-cute for the Playfellow Workshop to have included?

and then there's the question of what are the bugs? props? puppets? are they alive or do the neighbors just perceive them as such? Do they even exist outside of art, storybooks, and animated segments? I highly doubt they're alive like the neighbors are, since in the gif of Frank's head spinning, the framed butterflies' wings are moving. which is kind of horrifying if you think about it for more than a second.

just... the critters Frank loves so so so much being a complete fabrication... every piece of knowledge he prides himself on / delights in knowing being utterly Untrue... oof

like the opportunity to have theon's coat taken by ned when he's made his ward is right there and it is perfect and beautiful and tragic.

and you could build on that depending on the version of the selkie myth/story you're going off of (I personally love the song of the sea version of selkies for story writing). maybe he can't talk without it, maybe he gets sick, maybe his voice has magical properties of sorts.

I have this one concept in my head that I don't have the time to write, but it goes something along the lines of theon getting sick after years away from his coat and the stark kids have to find his coat and drag his slowly dying ass to the bay of seals (cause y'know bay of seals and theon's a selkie so he'll turn into a seal... I thought it was creative).

also, in a lot of versions of selkies, when they get sick, their hair turns white, which is on brand for theon. they're also pretty, their stories are typically soaked to the bone in tragedy, they're normally held captive/tortured, amongst other things, which are also very on brand for theon.

and maybe you get some selkie to selkie telepathy of sorts, so when theon finally enter the water a seal again, asha books it to come find him, cause its been years since she's been able to feel him (I'm soft for them, I will create the most improbable and ridiculous scenario's to bring them together and for them to have soft sibling moments).

all and all, theon being a selkie is something I need more content of, please and thank you.

been thinking about a pining Kizaru. him trying to get closer to someone he has a huge crush on. he knows it's kinda weird that you're so much younger than him but he can't help it. he figures out your schedule so he can sort of trail behind you. Kizaru keeps his shades on so he feels inconspicuous when peeking around corners to catch a glimpse of you. he might even strike up a conversation after "accidentally overhearing" you talk to a friend about a new interest. he can't stop thinking about you!!! your smiling face creeps into his mind while he's sitting at his desk. Kizaru gets distracted and starts doodling his and your initials in a heart on official paper work.

after a few weeks of constantly thinking of you, he goes out on a limb and decides to ask you out to dinner. surprisingly you accept, and after work you eat with him. he is absolutely ecstatic when you ask to head to his place after eating. the two of you spend hours talking over expensive white wine. you give him your number and ask him to promise to call you in the morning. he agrees with no hesitation, brushing his hand against yours.

as you both get up to leave, you pull him down by his loose tie and give him a kiss. he is shocked but he reciprocates it, wrapping an arm around your waist. the admiral deepens the kiss, practically fucking your throat with his skillful tongue. you pull away from him with a whimper, smoothing your shirt. you thank him for the wonderful evening and tell him to meet up with you when he gets to work if he's able to. after your shy departure Kizaru wastes no time heading to his bedroom. he recites your name as if it were a prayer, palming himself under his pants. oh he just can't wait to get his hands on you tomorrow morning.

i wrote way more than i intended to but i felt the need to conclude it on a bit of a spicy note with a win for Kizaru~~~ 💛���
