Less funny question but what's your opinion on the DSMP Panel yesterday? Like, what's your opinion on the questions asked? What's your opinion on the controversial nsfw dnf shirt wearer and them asking the ccs their opinion? What questions would you have asked each dsmp member that was on stage at one point?

for what I have seen this is not very popular opinion but I actually enjoyed the panel LMAO i've been feeling quite bad since like last weekend and a lot of things sucked for me except the whole dteam meet up and that includes dsmp panel. and probably in better state of mind i would be more critical, because objectively a lot of it sucked (too small room, no place for dream, such a short panel, general awkwardness, jm) but seeing all friends together and happy and also everyone just being horrified by what is going on was so much fun for me it actually made me laugh so much, who knows maybe i will be normal again by the end of cooking panel 👍 i do hope future dsmp panels will be better organized tho because again, in my typical state i would rate it way way lower (i just realized that this panel was like a train crashing, i couldn't look away but i also Enjoyed The View)

i think a lot of questions was just a waste of time LMAO only like 2 or 3 made audience interested and cc's involved. and people already pointed out that for a lot of those questions we already knew the answer. so that kinda sucked. i don't wanna comment on dnf shirt, that was gross and disrespectful and as an artists myself i have to point out that that art was probably stolen to make this shirt and that's another problem... i heard that artist deactivated their twt? so that fucking sucks

AND IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED! idk if i would have a question for all cc's but one i would love to ask is that. remember when sam told us about how was prison built? i would love to hear about the evil lair as well! like that place is HUGE and the redstone elevator is so cool i want to know who helped dream, and maybe some others cool stories? and i really want to know who came up with skeppy's cage LMAO

okay, let's just get the obvious out of here: it is funny, it looks ridiculous. you have a big prison that's wither-proof, and you wanna chuck someone into a little 1x2 block cage with only iron bars? and it looks ridiculous. i don't think anyone's ever argued that.

however, in my opinion, if you only find it funny and not extremely dehumanising; you didn't listen to what was said.

because what was important in that conversation was exactly how c!dream talked about c!skeppy.

when c!tommy asks c!dream why he has a cage for c! skeppy, c!dream says: "that's what bad cares about the most."

not who, what.

for c!dream, c!skeppy wasn't important as a person - otherwise he'd probably consider putting him in the pandora's vault; he was important as c!bad's attachment, as the valuable thing he could use to make c!bad do whatever he wanted.

c!skeppy wasn't important, his importance to c!bad was important. and for that, he wasn't important enough to keep anywhere else but in the hall of attachments with everything else. all nice and collected in the same place.

you can only diminish the c!skeppy cage to be completely ridiculous, if you didn't pay attention to how it was addressed.

the cage's importance in discussions about c!dream isn't the cage; it's what it represents. and what it represents is c!dream's extreme dehumanisation of c!skeppy to use him against c!bad.

the more posts I see about how absolutely dumb the design of the attachment vault is, the more I am convinced c!Dream had this whole thing planned out. Conclusion? c!Dream and c!Punz are probably still working together and therefore c!Dream is *not* completely alone, no matter what he may say or think to convince me otherwise.

Bonus: I wouldn’t be surprised if c!Dream simply asked c!Skeppy to be in the vault space meant for him. No bribing or extra questions, just “hey you wanna stand in this vault for me?” “yeah sure why not”

LMOA yeah the entire skeppy cage thing is so funny like he has an entire inescapable prison commissioned and puts an "important attachment" into a 2x1 box with no mining fatigue that you need to break like one block to get out of

that is so not-c!dream, that is stupid.

the only way to actually trap him like that would be if skeppy wanted to be there which you know what, in that case, good for him

thinkin about how the disc finale was so ooc for c!dream, strategist-wise and just, in general.

first of all, c!tubbo. that's it, that's literally it. why'd he want to get rid of c!tubbo? if he actually did want to get rid of c!tubbo then why didn't he do it earlier before the disc dinale? to cut off c!tommy's attachment to him? he had so many chances to do that in exile, c!tommy even considered burning the compass, but c!dream stopped him. i think it's the fact that he realizes he needs c!tommy alive, and that burning the compass would make him more depressed.

second of all, him wanting c!tommy in the prison. like. why? just why? what good will that do to you then? and more specifically killing c!tubbo THEN putting c!tommy in prison? there is lava there, the prison is a hazard to anyone. he needs c!tommy alive, and he realizes that c!tommy might k-word himself (as we've seen from exile). cool, he has the revive book if c!tommy ever tries it, but still, exile. He definitely could've let c!tommy burn the compass, and used that then instead of keeping him alive. it would've been a safe place to use it, too. considering that no one visits him in exile.

thirdly, c!dream building an attachment vault to hold power over other members. like bro. the vault seems so rushed. all the attachments there were already in his possession to begin with, or just got recently. and the thing is he didn't even use the attachment vault when he could've! he could've threatened to kill mars and beckerson, right then and there, when the server was against him. also, the skeppy cage. mans had a whole prison ffs. i feel like it's just there for comedic effect (i found it funny back then and i was a c!dream anti back in february). but like he has so many other forms of power over the members that he doesn't *need* control of their attachments. he has the prison, the revive book, his pvp skills, his resources, and yet he still made an attachment vault?? could just be a result of his paranoia but idk still seems pretty sus to me.

fourth, the fact that he kept stalling. what was he doing?? he should've just captured them right then and there. he was going on for so long about his master plan. That is not like him to just lose his paranoia of c!tommy escaping or something. not to mention, "just messing" with them would not be something c!dream would do. he'd bring a fake disc for sure, but he definitely would've secured the kill right then and there. this 4th point isn't really as airtight as the other ones, bc you could just argue it as a means of narratice convention, but eh.

all in all, something was up with c!dream in the disc finale. not to say that he was lying the entire time, he was definitely speaking his mind on some things. him losing his attachments, etc etc. but he was definitely off during that fight.

it's why i believe in the "c!dream built the prison for himself" theory so much. from c!dream's pov, it would make sense for him to do so. he's testing to see if the server is actually better without it under his "care." though from c!tommy and c!tubbo's pov, it would be quite unsatisfying to see that c!dream actually meant for all that to happen, so im still not sure. but the blueprints though.

i reckon c!dream only planned to be in the prison for 2 months or so, then call in the favor from c!techno, and get out. but it backfired so much, some things he wanted in the prison weren't followed (i.e. starving the prisoner, not being able to roam in the halls, unused courtyard, etc). Also, the fact that c!quackity came in just made it 10x worse. c!techno came in late, got locked in, and yeah. his plan derailed so far from his original.

though it's because of these events that i think there's a possibility for him to have a redemption arc! redemption is all about healing, getting rid of band mindsets, and becoming better as a person. it's different from forgiveness(which is an act of sympathy and has some concepts of justice tied in). c!dream needed to be proven wrong about his unhealthy mindsets. attachments are NOT weaknesses, the server does NOT rest on his hands, and the ends do NOT justify the means. that's what c!dream needs to learn.

also, one of them might be proven wrong in the near future! the attachments one. c!techno views c!dream as his bestie, and c!dream got hope from being with c!techno. c!techno will break him out of prison, and give the homeless teletubby a home! also, also, the syndicate is filled with the most understanding people ever, and c!dream's goals align with c!ranboo's. they aren't opposing each other. c!phil, c!niki, c!techno, all of them believe that a person can have a second chance! (only reason c!ranboo thinks c!dream can't be redeemed rn is because "he's too deep down the rabbit hole")

ALSO ALSO ALSO, the message it would give if he DID have a redemption arc! it shows that anyone can heal!! and be better!!! that everyone can get out of the rabbit hole, no matter how deep!!! it would be a really, incredibly, heart-warming story. or idk that may just be my fluff-starved heart again. </3

I dunno if I've said this before even though I've been thinking it basically since I even started posting here regularly.

I feel like the biggest problem with Dream SMP is/was that they started to take the roleplay a bit too seriously (and I know how hypocritical this sounds like to say considering how many serious analysis posts I've made but I swear it isn't)

I feel like they saw all those cool animatics (particularly SAD-ist's) and they got a bit too into the idea of playing into that? Which is fair but like SAD-ist and the others never needed them to take it that seriously to make cool and epic fanworks out of it. The war of independence was dramatic but also goofy as shit and the first SAD-ist animatic came out badass anyway.

Also I think the fandom kinda bears some blame for it too since the fans were just making fun of the creators for breaking the 4th wall or even just making jokes. Like any time Techno said anything remotely funny EVEN IF IT WAS 100% IN CHARACTER people would call it "not roleplaying". Like guys, you know people can just... roleplay as funny characters? Characters can have a sense of humour??

I'm not saying they couldn't have still had basically the same plot and themes, just that the tone didn't need to get this heavy. The Doomsday streams in particular were pretty much unwatchable for me except for Techno and Phil's which were great. Everybody else's were so dreary. The "Finale" had like 2.5 cool moments and otherwise it was just not fun to watch at all. Like honestly thank god for the few jokes from Tubbo and the Skeppy cage for lightening the mood at least a little bit. (I mean the Skeppy cage thing was both hilarious and horrifying, that was good shit)

I'm glad they've seemed to dial it back lately, although there still seems to be a bit of a split between "lore" and actually fun content. And that really shouldn't be there. The lore should be fun too! I mean it can be angsty sure but it shouldn't ALL be angsty, that's just exhausting.

Like even if you're writing a straight up tragedy it shouldn't be angsty all the time, that's just boring. And IMO the best kinds of tragedies have a sense of humour. Like, Hamlet is hilarious actually when it chooses to be, that's my favourite thing about it. And of course I'm a huge fan of Les Mis which is funny as hell whenever it's not being upsetting. That's kinda what makes it so upsetting because you're actually enjoying reading it and then it hits you with the inherent tragedy of social injustice.

I mean I think some of the streamers have a good balance, but others just have these jarring tonal shifts that take me out of the experience because the funny bits don't relate to the serious bits at all. And that just makes me resent one or the other, or both.

Idk, this is a bit of a rambly and not necessarily the best thought out post but whatever, I need to at least try to put this into words.
