and thats the answer, isnt it. not a goddamn thing. i wouldn't trade any of it away if it meant i never had you. i dont know how else to say that it makes a beautiful symmetry that stardust ends on such a sad, bleak, fearful note in the studio, afraid even still of the past it sprang from, but in the tour to support the album, the band has taken such delight in pulling out old songs, blowing the dust off b-sides they've never played live, and then...this. after opening every show with love from the other side (don't look back, don't look back, don't fight, don't fight it, what would you trade the pain for i'm not sure - ) playing a song that says, unabashedly, that having your favorite person in your life is worth every trial and every scar. that they would do nothing different. they would trade the pain for nothing, nothing at all, because then...well, then they wouldnt have each other. and we wouldnt have them.
