I saw my thesis supervisor yesterday and I'm starting lab work next week!! I'm equal parts nervous and excited haha. I hope everything goes well.

Today in ochem I did distillation and extraction. People used to tell me ochem lab can be really boring bc there's a lot of waiting - I wish! In my case, "waiting" just means doing something else. 4h of walking around the lab and standing at the fume hood :')))) Sitting down for literally like five minutes to estimate the melting point of my sample turned into a blessing

I completely understand feeling burnt out of price, we still love him obvs but sometimes the obsession (and inspiration) moves to a back burner (sometimes for a while, sometimes for a While) and frankly I think it’s good. Interests and creativity comes in waves for many people and your price work will always, always have a soft spot in my heart, in many ways it changed how I viewed love and affection, but I’m also excited to see where your new interests take us and what new lovely things you can introduce to us. I’ll stick around and read all of your work even if I know nothing about Jacob Seed or Far Cry because your prose is just too damn incredible for me to stop reading over lack of context. Besides, you have good taste, so, maybe these are things I didn’t know I needed to obsess over!

Please don’t feel pressured to apologize for feeling burnt out of a topic or your interests moving on. That’s a normal thing that happens to everyone. Even if someone’s been obsessed with something super intensely for years, they’ll hit a point where something new will take up their focus and that’s okay. I’m just along for the ride regardless of the topic of interest because I adore you that much. We’ll always love price. But we’ll always love you, too 🩷

I struggled with my response to this for a few days now because I don't know how to summarise how genuinely warm and happy this made me feel.
