i remember being brought up christian like, almost concerned that i never felt a connection to any of the shit they were talkin about,

and when i was younger i was like "oh no! am i bad for not feeling connected to god?? is it bad i feel like my dead mom doesnt talk to me or watch over me?? am i horrible for pretending?????"

but turns out i just had Autism Powers that made me immune to it and i was able to completely sever myself from the idea of being Christian at the ripe old age of like 13. and it was such a HUGE comfort to see that there were all these other beliefs and spiritual sort of things that other people chose to believe in and didnt necessarily treat their beliefs as COLD HARD UNDENIABLE FACT the way christians treat the existence of god & heaven & hell

like now that i am older i know i was in fact traumatized by the culturally catholic beliefs my family held & forced on us all, but i am really immensely grateful that my child self looked at all the other aspects of christianity that would horrify most other children into behaving/conforming, and basically just went, "okay, source?"

and that was the end of that

ooooh this is hard since i seen a consistent amount of great takes on tumblr compared to what it is on twitter!! but i guess the worst i seen would have to be in this specific fandom (south park) where someone wrote an entire fucking essay when they consistently provided evidence of blatant misogyny / anti semitism in a fanon portrayal of a character (said character is a jewish man, very masculine in canon yet is somehow feminized a lot in m/m ships and this is a problem because theres a long history of jewish men being feminized due to the common stereotype that jewish men are not "real men" because of their ethnoreligion) — this is a valid problem right? well in those same fucking essays where they provided concrete evidence as to why they shouldn't take good jewish rep away just to turn them into out of character caricatures to serve the white man in the fucking relationship — they used it to prove that ITS OKAY to do that and i still cant fathom it like TWO POSTS OF LONG META ESSAYS AND THEY STILL MISS THE POINT ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY USED THE CANONICALLY RACIST CHARACTER THAT HAS A HISTORY OF PICKING ON THAT SAID CHARACTER FOR THEM BEING JEWISH MULTIPLE TIMES TO PROBE THEIR ARGUMENT THAT THIS IS OKAY LIKE HOW DO YOU MISS THIS SO BADLY!?!!!

i know the song is essentially about a revenge murder by a mason who wasn't paid, but the versions that include him and the nurse gathering the baby's blood feels too much like blood libel. and i know the most common theory is that lankin is a leper who wanted to use the blood as a cure, but historically it was lambs or dogs blood that was used for that so i dunno

Our father was not a good man.

Azazel was not one of our siblings, but was... close to us, and part of our... family. He, also, was banished. I am still unsure of what led to this, Azazel was not very forthcoming with this information and once you were banished, you ceased to exist in the eyes of the family. From what I saw, he was blamed for many sins he did not commit. The scapegoat.
