I want to brainwash you into loving me forever (NOW COMPLETED)
Aka the NFL Fake Dating AU. Posted on AO3. Moodboard creds to @missathlete31 (thank you. I adore you.)
“So…this is fucking weird and I have no clue what to say here.”
Bradley smiled warmly and leaned his forearms against the table. “Don’t worry, Mav already filled me in, and I’ll do it.”
Jake blinked. “You’ll do it?”
“Yeah.” Bradley sat back with a nod. “You want to come out, right? If us appearing to be in a stable relationship will help, then I’m in.”
Or,
Jake Seresin has it all- fame, money, a NFL MVP trophy, a Super Bowl appearance, a lonely house, and a problem. He wants to come out on his own terms. Enter Bradley Bradshaw, the solution to said problem, or maybe, the beginning of a new problem. After all, you don't fall in love with your fake boyfriend.

hi! im learning so much from your blog and its endlessly fascinating to me, im not american so i knew next to nothing about the us military before getting into tg (still dont know that much but. more than before), i never cared about or defined myself by us political terms but now i really want to know and understand the tg characters and its fascinating to me how much politics is a part of that, so thank you for sharing your views on that on here, id be lost without them!
(i havent read your fic yet because idk if im emotianally ready for it yet but when i do. im sure its gonna be great)
haha I do sort of worry that I’ve made top gun too political. I think I’ve always just been trying to come to terms with the fact that… top gun wasn’t really made for me.
I saw Top Gun: Maverick for the first time in a movie theatre in rural southern Oregon…. Which, if you’re not American/didn’t know, is a part of the country characterized by Jesus-loving gun-toting “patriots.” The theatre was a full house. Everyone loved TGM. It’s NOT an apolitical movie. It pushes a WWII-era narrative about the “American underdog” military that appeals to a certain subset of the population: the military deserves more resources because our heroes are disadvantaged on the battlefield (F-18 vs SU-57), though of course in real life no more than a dozen SU-57s have actually been produced, and American fighters… don’t engage in dogfights anymore. Cain was right, no matter how much TGM wants to sensationalize the adventurism of real life pilots: drone warfare is making extinct manned fighter jets. TGM is geopolitically out of date. —And whether we like it or not, it is straight-up recruiting propaganda. The main emotional thrust of the movie is that we (audience) are supposed to sympathize with Bradley, who wants nothing more than to Join The Navy. We are supposed to be mad at Maverick (and later, conveniently, our scapegoat Carole) for preventing Bradley from Joining The Navy. The story of TGM does not make sense if the Navy isn’t the most desirable place to be. Top Gun: Maverick isn’t just recruitment MATERIAL; fundamentally it is a recruitment STORY. I feel like that’s an important metatextual aspect to engage with & acknowledge.
I’ve said elsewhere on my blog, the target audience for TGM is Republican dads of teenage boys: men who were teenagers when the first Top Gun came out, and have that nostalgia for a more dangerous/more exciting military, and are in the position to influence their sons to join up. The Navy would not have let Tom Cruise et al rent their $20,000-an-hour-operating-cost airplanes if that weren’t the case. Top Gun wasn’t really made for people like me.
Obviously how people in fandom engage with the source text is their decision. But engaging with Top Gun & Top Gun: Maverick is to engage with the Reagan-era reactionary, hawkish Cold War foreign policy that inspired Top Gun (the 1981 Gulf of Sidra incident really springs to mind—it would’ve been in the minds of many people watching Top Gun in 1986), and then the subsequent NOSTALGIA for that time period that inspired Top Gun: Maverick. They’re not apolitical movies at all; they have an agenda. It’s good to take their agendas seriously.
I hope if you read my fics you enjoy them 😊

Megacorp vs nationalism
UltraGood was at war with the neighbouring nation of the Union. While UG had more money, they soon found their APCs and tanks blown up and UG's assault turned into a barely coordinated retreat.
Two weeks later, UG's leadership called an emergency meeting. "Okay, everyone, report!" CEO Roberts looked around. General Smithersen, the leader of the security forces, were busy poking her PDA. The only other Board member was Ian Letik, who was fuming. "Your idiotic war makes me lose all my money!" "Ian, we WILL defeat the Union. Believe me! We have all the money we need!" "Sir, if this goes on, we have to start conscript-" Smithersen started, but Roberts shouted her to shut it. "Only talk when I ask you! Ian, listen, we defeat the Union and then we- Oh, Johnson is on the line!" he laughed and pressed the green button.
The hologram of Johnson came in, he was in a corridor, running, with a steel helmet and a cybernetic vest on. He was flanked by a cybersamurai Roberts hired, but the CEO noticed how their clothing were dusty and the samurai bled. Gunfire and explosions were heard. "Johnson, what's going on?" "The Union! They are bombing the regional offices!" "How? You had the air force!" "You fired half the pilots!" Johnson shouted and was pushed into an elevator, the mercenary holding their electric sword arm up, ready and waiting. "The Union bought the planes we sold last year, remember?" "No, I don't remember every small transaction you all do!" "Well, they own half our air force, and they already had more." "They were a waste of money, just sitting there, I bought those supercarriers instead!" "Sir, if I may." Smithersen perked up. "Your sup-" "Wait a bit Johnson. What is it?" "Your supercarriers are currently at war with the Union's naval forces. Two of them sunk, four is bombed at this moment and the remaining three can't reach back from the offshore assets in time." "Just buy a few more!" "Yes, sir. They will be deployed ASAP, sir." Smithersen snarked, but the CEO was oblivious to it. "Johnson, what is going on? Your screen is off." "The power is out." the regional leader sighed, only lit by the cybersuit and the energy blade as the samurai started cutting at the door. "Guess they cut the power, but we are almost at the panic room. You need to send me a lot of tanks!" "I can't, they are protecting our oil wells!" "Screw your oil wells! There won't be anything to fuel with them if the Union sh-" The door fallen off the elevator, and the cybersamurai started to be hit with a hail of bullets. Many bounced off, but the amount of gunfire was enough to start tearing up their armour. Johnson crawled to the corner of the elevator, dropping the holophone, which now only shown the upper half of the elevator, then bumped as the body of the mercenary fell down. "Please... I surrender! I... I never wanted to fight the Union! Honest!" A soldier walked into the frame, aiming a gun at Johnson, who started crying. "Please... I have a family." "You suits only have assets! Private, shoot him." Roberts terminated the video feed, then started looking around. Most of the Board was in bunkers, but out of the eleven out there, only four replied back.
"Smithersen! Why are they winning? We got more money, more tech and more people!" "Well, permission to speak freely, sir?" "Yes." "You are fucked, sir." the general stated. "What do you mean? We have more soldiers with the best guns we produce!" "The Union bought our guns too. They also paid you a lot for your own private army to train their soldiers in the last ten fiscal years. Meanwhile, next to buying the guns, they also built a patriotic fervour." "People love our brand! We are THE brand!" "Yes, and everyone is employed by you."
Outside, explosions sounded, and one of the UG skyscrapers started to burn. The sirens did not started. About four corporate soldiers walked in, and the jet bombers of the Union dotted the skies above the city. "How? How can our forces not fight?" "Well, you know how much you pay for the soldiers at the siren area?" "...No?" "Not enough. The Union had a better offer." Smithersen took off her badge and threw it on the table. "I quit. They give us amnesty, and we won't fight back." "Wait! You can get a raise. 40%? 50%?" "Nah..." Smithersen pulled her gun and shot Roberts in the leg, the CEO falling over. Letik smiled. "And if you are gone, we can negotiate." he said, holding up his holophone. "Please connect in the Prime Minister of the Union. We got the surrender deal ready." The PM of the Union lied in the chair, with a bullet hole in his head. A general next to him adjusted the camera. "As they say, we are under new management. You will surrender unconditionally."

01/03/2023 NFL UPDATES
My predictions for last week’s games: (10-5) and forgot to pick for the Bills/Bengals game. This is very Ironic because this game was suspended because there was a very sad event that happened during the game and it was postponed. Bills Safety Damar Hamlin was hit really hard in the chest causing him to go into cardiac arrest. I have never seen anything like this and I was watching it live on TV. They were giving him CPR on the field while he was down for about 10 minutes. They finally got him off the field and to the hospital where his vitals are back to normal but he is still very much in critical condition. The entire NFL community and more have him and his family in our prayers.
Last weeks big games that I brought up did NOT disappoint. The 49ers vs Raiders game was a nail bitter and closer than I anticipated but the 49ers came out on top. So now the Raiders have been fully eliminated from the Playoffs but the 49ers now have a chance to get the #1 seed if they win this week and the Eagles lose. The Packers and Vikings was very one sided, the Packers ran all over the Vikings and came out victorious so they now have a chance to get into the playoffs.
Right now for the AFC the teams that are in the hunt and have a chance of playoffs if they win are the (Dolphins, Steelers & Titans)
For the NFC on the other hand there are only 2 teams in the hunt the (Lions & Packers).
These teams have been eliminated now
Texans
Bears
Cardinals
Broncos
Colts
LA Rams
Falcons
Raiders
Panthers
Browns
Saints
Jets
Commanders
My Predictions this week:
(Chiefs vs Raiders) Chiefs
(Titans vs Jaguars) Jaguars
(Ravens vs Bengals) Bengals
(Browns vs Steelers) Browns
(Vikings vs Bears) Vikings
(Patriots vs Bills) Bills
(Jets vs Dolphins) Dolphins
(Buccaneers vs Falcons) Buccaneers
(Panthers vs Saints) Saints
(Texans vs Colts) Texans
(Cardinals vs 49ers) 49ers
(Cowboys vs Commanders) Cowboys
(Rams vs Seahawks) Seahawks
(Giants vs Eagles) Giants
(Chargers vs Broncos) Chargers
(Lions vs Packers) Packers

Do translators generally think of author intent when translating or is it more about what's within the text?
Hmm, this is a pretty interesting question. I can't speak for every single translator out there, but ideally I would think it would be about translating what's there on the page to the best of your ability.
I say this because generally speaking, it's impossible for most translators to know what an author actually thought or intended without speaking to them directly. And in some cases, talking to the author would simply be impossible no matter what you tried (when translating a work where the author has been dead for some time, for example).
Of course, certain materials or official sources can give us an idea of what an author may have meant, such as prefaces, interviews, or official art books, but even then, interpreting those things back into the original work always involves a degree of translator bias. There's still always the risk of believing you're speaking for the original author's intent, when in reality, it's coming more from your own personal interpretation of what you thought they meant.
So the best way to avoid letting this bias overtake your work is to try and translate what's there directly on the page in front of you. This won't eliminate all translator bias, because again, translators are human and we always have to bring some degree of interpretation to the work even when attempting to be objective, especially when language is often very ambiguous and full of double-meanings. But it will at least help with trying to make the translated experience of the work somewhat close to the original
There are, of course, caveats to this, namely when it comes to the idea of a localization vs. a direct translation. In a localization the main objective is to make the work understandable to a separate target audience (in the case of DR, bringing a game series that is decidedly Japanese over to the west), so sometimes the original text does need to be tweaked slightly in order to accomplish this. The best example I can think of are jokes which might fall flat to an audience that doesn't have the context for them; in ndrv3, a joke the Monokubz made was changed in the official localization instead to a sports joke about the Jets vs. the Patriots, in order to put it in terms that a U.S.-centric, western audience might understand better.
So overall, it really requires an eye for detail and for a translator to use their best judgment when trying to determine what to change and what to keep the same. It's as much a skill as knowing the actual vocabulary and grammar of the languages you're translating to and from, and the finer details and differences are really going to vary from translator to translator!

Final NFL 2022 Season Preview
Tumblr media
My final preview of what we might or might not expect this coming season.
Here’s a brief synopsis & some predictions of what we can expect this season. Keep in mind, it's just an opinion. Nothing more:
-Calling it now, The entire AFC West will not only be the best division in the NFL this year, filled with internet breaking highlights, but I expect every team in this division to make the playoffs…and to get knocked out of the playoffs in the first 2 rounds.
-Aaron Rodgers & the Packers will get humbled this season. I could see the Minnesota Vikings winning the NFC North, but I have a feeling that Rodgers & the Packers will get the last laugh in the playoffs.
-Hey Cowboys fans, unless your defense stays healthy, expect another heartbreaking season. Dak Prescott is losing his touch, Ezekiel Elliott is on the downslope & you lost your star receiver to the Cleveland Browns. Disgusting. Micah Parsons is your only saving grace.
-The Pittsburgh Steelers might finish under .500 this year, but will still do better than the Cleveland Browns and somehow they might make the playoffs, but the AFC North battle will be between Cincinnati and Baltimore.
-Hey New York Jets fans, expect another long season, again, with no playoffs in sight. The good news? Your team will win 2 more games than they did last year.
-If there are any Seahawks fans out there, expect a very depressing season this year. The last of the legion of boom is gone, you lost your future hall of fame quarterback & if the front office isn’t happy, this might be Pete Carroll’s last hurrah.
-Teams that everyone will be scared to play against this year: Tampa Bay Bucs, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams & the entire AFC West. Someone out of this group will go to the Super Bowl this year, excluding the AFC West.
-Sleeper teams that might make some noise & crash the playoffs: Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers & the Baltimore Ravens.
-Teams with nothing to hope for this season: Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears & New Orleans Saints.
-Teams that are all hype but I’m still not convinced of what they can do: Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers & Detroit Lions.
-NFC Conference Championship prediction: Tampa Bay Bucs vs. Green Bay Packers.
Winner? Tampa Bay Bucs.
-AFC Conference Championship prediction: Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals.
Winner? Buffalo Bills.
-Super Bowl 57 prediction: Tampa Bay Bucs vs. Buffalo Bills.
Winner? Buffalo Bills.

That is all.

【The Truth About Iranian Strike On Israeli That U Don’t Hear From Mainstream Media(s)】
Western media didn't report that Iran's missile attack completely shocked Biden and his generals and also the Israelis on what they can do. That's why Biden immediately want de-escalation and Israel war cabinet decided not to retaliate.
The Iranians tested a 3-stage attack and succeeded. First the drones went in to absorb Israel's iron dome missiles, a 2nd missile followed and fired a burst of bomblets (like flares) to activate the Patriots and before a 3rd heavy missile with a warhead that detaches from its body, activates a propulsion to fire quickly into the ground.
They used this to hit Nevatim military airbase and demonstrate to the Israelis that they can penetrate their iron dome and hit any target throughout Israel. This caused massive panic with the Israelis.
Israeli PM Netanyahu and his generals immediately went into the bunkers once their military analyst told them what's happening.
Iran spent $68m vs Israel's $1.1b and it is totally unsustainable to survive another few waves of Iranian attack. Remember the the US and NATO has run out of defense systems to give to Ukraine.
The surrounding Arab states except Jordan informed the US under the base treaty, they are activating a veto. The US therefore cannot use their airspace for offensive attacks against Iran. This constrained US jets and cruise missiles that could be fired from the Red Sea to attack Iran launch sites. US jets used up all their million dollar missiles firing at cheap UAVs.
Israel's President is forced come out on mutiple western media to say Israel is not seeking a war which is unlike how the US and Israel normally reacts to an attack of this scale. Israel just found out that Iran has the means to annihilate them today.
US News Media like CNN and BBC are all lying about Israel winning by shooting down 98% of drones. If Iran attacks in a massive scale without giving Israel a 9 hour notice with the loudest possible drones and start using their advanced missiles, Satanyahu will be completely screwed.
For Gaza, 14 April Sunday was the first day since the war that no Palestinians were killed in Gaza. Iran forced Israel to move all their assets to defend themselves.

The Curious Case of Josh Allen
Tumblr media
Josh Allen, face of the Buffalo Bills, franchise savior, the guy that is supposed to deliver a championship to a city that is starving for one. Josh Allen was vaulted to super stardom in the 2021 AFC Divisional round game against Kansas City that has been dubbed “the 13 second game”. In that game Allen went 27-37 329 yards and 4TD’s. He was sublime. If it wasn’t for his head coach’s decision making at the end of that game (which is another discussion for another day) then we might be having a different conversation today. I truly believe in my heart of hearts that the Bills would’ve beat the LA Rams in the Super Bowl that year. Instead, we sit here today talking about how Josh Allen is just one of the most scrutinized players for his turnovers in recent memory.
Josh Allen’s name alone seems to strike a chord with national media members. Every time it is uttered the first thing out of a pundit’s mouth is “turns the ball over”.  That may be true. Allen does through interceptions on occasion but to be labeled like he’s a turnover machine is absolutely asinine. Josh Allen is a gunslinger, gunslingers throw picks. Ask Brett Favre. Josh Allen does throw the bad INT from time to time no one is arguing that. But the national narrative that he throws way too many picks is a little much for my liking so this is my defense of Josh Allen. Based on the 2022 and 2023 seasons using some advanced stats Josh Allen is doing A LOT for this Bills team.

Josh Allen had 7 less drops from his intended receivers, threw 16 less “poor throws”, was sacked 9 less times all while being blitzed, hurried, hit, and pressured more. The man is a national treasure. If you are wondering what about the RPO’s and Play Action Passes? Well do I have a chart for you!

What’s wild about this passing chart is that Allen was a play action master in 2022 with Devin Singletary as the lead back and he wasn’t used like Houston used him this season. But this season it was more even in the RPO and Play Action games. So, Allen while doing much less in play action got a little more out of an RPO passing game. I feel the emergence of James Cook in 2023 might have attributed to the drop in numbers but Josh Allen in the passing game is doing what elite QB’s do, throw the ball, and win games.
Josh Allen as starter is 63-30. His 2018 rookie season is the only season he’s been under .500 (5-6). He’s guided the Bills to 13 wins twice. Yet somehow it keeps coming back to “costly turnovers”. In Buffalo’s 6 losses this season by my estimation: Josh Allen had 3 INT’s vs Jets week 1, the third came at 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Bills lost by a punt return in overtime. Allen had 1 INT vs Jaguars in week 5, his only pick came early in the 4th quarter. Bills lost on a Stefon Diggs fumble with 22 seconds left. In week 7 vs Patriots there was a first quarter INT, Bills lost by giving up the go-ahead touchdown with 22 seconds left and a Josh Allen fumble with 5 seconds left. Week 9 vs Bengals, a 2nd quarter INT, Bills lost 24-18, game wasn’t all that close. The following week vs Broncos a first quarter INT and another late in the 2nd quarter with a 3rd quarter fumble. Bills lost on a do over field goal from having 12 men on the field. Then lastly vs Eagles week 12 a 4th quarter INT with under 13 minutes to play. Bills lost in overtime by a Jalen Hurts rushing touchdown. Please tell me in any of these losses where it was a “costly” interception that ended the game. A fumble I view differently in terms of trying to make something happen, but if you want to put fumbles in this example fine, the Jaguars game is the only game where the game ended on a Josh Allen turnover. 1 out of 17 is not bad.
As much as we hate when interceptions are thrown, there is not a measurement for when interceptions are thrown just stat tracking how many. But as I stated before, gunslingers throw picks. In the chart below you can see a lot of interceptions have been thrown but when you put the touchdowns next to it, is it really all that bad?

As we can see, double digit interceptions thrown since 2020. In 2018 Allen only played in 12 games, starting 11 which was his rookie season. If we go back to 2018 until the present, the interceptions leaders were: Ben Roethlisberger (16 in 2018), Jameis Winston (30 in 2019), Drew Lock & Carson Wentz (15 in 2020), Matt Stafford & Trevor Lawrence (17 in 2021), Dak Prescott & Davis Mills (15 in 2022), Sam Howell (21 in 2023). Josh Allen in that time frame from 2018-2023 ranked: tied for 5th, 10th, 5th, tied for 2nd, tied for 2nd, 2nd in interceptions in those years respectively. Would you like to know why he’s been in the top two in INT’s for the last 3 seasons and thrown double digit picks since 2020? He’s attempted over 500 passes since 2020. Logic would tell you, if you throw the ball more, you’re likely to throw more interceptions. In 2021 he attempted 646 passes! Arguably the best the Bills offense has looked in the Josh Allen era. He’s had over 4000 yards passing a season since 2020. In 2019 the offense was clunky at best, also, no Stefon Diggs (which had a lot to do with it), but the offensive weapons got better and the philosophy was more pass-centric. Josh Allen has a big arm. With great arm comes great responsibility, it also comes with arm arrogance. He thinks he can fit the ball in tight spaces…because he can. You win some you lose some.
For comparison’s sake, Tom Brady from 2018-2022 threw 11, 8, 12, 12, and 9 interceptions in those years respectively for a total of 52. Josh Allen in that time frame threw 60 interceptions. Albeit only 8 more but again, Tom Brady wasn’t necessarily bombing it down the field as much. Smarter passes and a weaker arm compared to Josh Allen.
Now I get you won’t be swayed by this. You will look at my charts and think “78 interceptions are still a lot”. I would say “yeah, on the surface”.

Now, this list is a bit of a mixed bag but I think we can all agree, Peyton Manning threw a ton of interceptions to start his career yet, he’s considered one of the best if not the best passer in NFL history. But I don’t hear anyone calling Peyton Manning a turnover machine. Or Eli Manning, or Matt Stafford, or Big Ben, or Andrew Luck. 4 of the aforementioned 5 QB’s have bought themselves the benefit of the doubt with Super Bowls to their names. Andrew Luck was just held up to be the best QB prospect since John Elway but injuries cut his career short.
So why does Josh Allen have to be dragged through the mud for his turnovers from August to January EVERY SEASON!? I don’t know, I don’t think we’ll ever know. It doesn’t help Patrick Mahomes is in his 4th Super Bowl, and been in an AFC Championship game every season for the last 6 seasons. So even in his own conference Josh Allen is being held to the fire for not doing what Mahomes is. I’m sorry Sean McDermott isn’t Andy Reid. God, I wish he was. Maybe my heart wouldn’t hurt so much in mid-January for the last 4 years.
Ironically enough, for all the detractors about Allen’s interceptions, he gets a tremendous amount of credit for using his legs. Josh Allen was tied for 2nd in rushing touchdowns in 2023 with Jalen Hurts with 15. Miami’s Raheem Mostert had 18 which led the NFL. If anything, Allen was criticized for not using his legs enough. That also is a product of the head coach wanting it or not (again, another discussion for another day). Josh Allen is prolific with his legs. Check this out:
Michael Vick
6,109, 36TD
Cam Newton
5,628, 75TD
Russell Wilson
5,307, 29TD
Lamar Jackson
5,258, 29TD
Randall Cunningham
4,928, 35TD
Steve Young
4,239, 43TD
Fran Tarkenton
3,674, 32TD
Josh Allen
3,611, 53TD
Steve McNair
3,590, 37TD
Aaron Rodgers
3,466, 35TD
Donovan McNabb
3,459, 29TD
John Elway
3,407, 33TD
This is the top 12 rushing QB’s in NFL history. 4 of these 12 names are still active players, and 2 of them aren’t running around like they used to. Lamar Jackson is going to jump from 4th on the list to number 1 in probably two seasons. Lamar Jackson has an MVP to his name, with a second one potentially on the way. Josh Allen finished 2nd in MVP voting in 2020 and 3rd in 2022. Josh Allen cannot catch a break. This isn’t turning into a debate on whether or not the MVP award is truly awarded to the player most valuable to his team. If that were the case Mahomes would win it every season. Would Kansas City really be this good without Mahomes, no, the answer is no.
When you add it all up, Josh Allen is responsible for 102 turnovers. A lot when said, but he’s also responsible for 220 touchdowns. That’s a PLUS 118 turnover differential. Allen scores more than he gives it away. That is never said, at least I never hear it. The two most prominent hot take factories in Fox Sports and ESPN will convince you the interceptions cost this team wins and Josh Allen is a problem. As I laid out for you earlier, Allen had a fumble that cost the team a win. Just one. The rest of the games the team still had a chance at the end to win. Even Vegas has prop bets on his interceptions! There are Josh Allen defenders like Dan Orlovsky and Mel Kiper Jr., both men should be protected at all costs, they lay out Josh Allen is doing everything he can and more because HE HAS TO. Gabe Davis disappears at times. He’s had FIVE games this season of ZERO catches. Since his 6 rec 105 yards TD performance in the loss to Philadelphia Gabe Davis during the 5-game win streak to end the season had 3 games of zero catches. He had 4 rec 130-yard TD blowup against the Chargers and a 2 rec 21-yard dud against New England. He’s too boom or bust. He may do the blocking in the run game but this offense needs more from its number 2 receiver. Kahlil Shakir is coming on and proving to be a nice slot receiver and Dalton Kincaid needs to time to really evolve.
Stefon Diggs is the most reliable receiver on the team but he had his own curious season as well. Diggs hasn’t gone over 100 yards receiving since week 6 vs the Giants. He had over 80 yards twice. I like to think it is a combination of Allen target sharing more which obviously affects Diggs and not his age (30), but who’s to say. The constant distraction of Diggs’ temperament is played out for me. His brother Trayvon Diggs is cryptically posting to social media trying to get him to Dallas. We’re all waiting for the other shoe to drop and Diggs pulls what he did in Minnesota and demands out. It’s impossible based on his contract. Which is another hurdle that the Bills will need to overcome. Currently the Bills are $52 million over the salary cap next season. Von Miller, Diggs, Allen, and Tre White are all apart of that. Not Allen’s fault but the team didn’t capitalize on a rookie QB deal when it needed to now, tough personnel decisions must be made.
As far as on the field play, Josh Allen is every bit the player we as fans want him to be. He’s every bit the player the Bills need him to be. He’s averaging 2:1 ratio of touchdowns to turnovers. He’s a big part of the rushing offense, and he can distribute the ball under pressure and lead drives for points. I believe Sean McDermott out smarts himself in crucial moments and relies too much on his morals as a football coach. We’ve had five seasons of peak Josh Allen with devasting losses in the playoffs to show for it. The narrative will eventually be written to lead you to believe Josh Allen will turn the ball over in a crucial moment to cost this team a game in the playoffs. When the real narrative should be, can Josh Allen do everything and more to overcome the rest of the teams’ and the coaching staffs’ limitations. We have a large enough sample size to say, it isn’t the turnovers from the quarterback that cost the team wins, its everything else around him that does.

12/29/2022 NFL Updates!
It is Week 17 of the NFL and tonight 12/29/2022 is the Thursday night game. There are 2 weeks until the playoffs and only 8 teams have been eliminated. These teams are the Texans, Bears, Cardinals, Broncos, Colts, Falcons, Rams & Browns. This means there are still plenty of teams in the hunt.
Now moving on to one of the games that I find personally interesting is the game between the 49ers vs the raiders, which is also called “battle of the bay”. Some of the other games are Bills vs Bengals & Packers vs Vikings. Being from the Bay Area and a huge 49ers fan, some big news for this week's game versus the Raiders is that Derek Carr will be benched. Some things that come to my head instantly are, “will the raiders lose their locker?” Meaning “are all of the players going to stop caring or trying?” One of the biggest concerns and questions is, “if the Raiders send Carr away does that mean Davante Adams will stay or leave? If so, where is he going?” This will be a huge offseason for the Raiders which will be even bigger than last offseason. Carr has been on the Raiders team since 2014, he has been the only somewhat stable player for the Raiders and since they are moving away from him you start to wonder what their next move will be. I do predict this game will be a blowout and the 49ers will send the Raiders home with a lot to think about. The 49ers on the other hand, if they win and some of their other games go in their favor they will either stay in 3rd place or move up in the NFC (National Football Conference). This week they were considered the NFL's number One Power Ranking Team, so let's see if they can live up to that hype.
Two games that will be even more interesting are the Bills vs Bengals & Packers vs Vikings. The Bills hold the #1 spot in the AFC (American Football Conference) while the Bengals hold the #3 spot. If the Bills do happen to lose this game it is likely they lose the #1 spot and the Chiefs take it. Whereas, If the Bills do win then there is a good chance that the Bengals lose there #3 spot and move into the Wildcard. This is a similar scenario for the Packers vs Vikings game but if Green Bay loses they no longer have a chance at the playoffs!
My predictions for this week’s games:
(Cowboys vs Titans) Cowboys
(49ers vs Raiders) 49ers
(Cardinals vs Falcons) Falcons
(Bears vs Lions) Lions
(Broncos vs Chiefs) Chiefs
(Dolphins vs Patriots) Dolphins
(Colts vs Giants) Giants
(Saints vs Eagles) Eagles
(Panthers vs Buccaneers) Panthers
(Browns vs Commanders) Browns
(Jaguares vs Texans) Jaguars
(Jets vs Seahawks) Jets
(Vikings vs Packers) Vikings
(Rams vs Chargers Chargers
(Steelers vs Ravens) Steelers
