I'll see if I have energy left today to work on bodies then I'll do a recap of who's got a body and who's available for the price of postage. backstory:

Oisin was born in Dublin, Ireland, but only lived there for the first 10 years of his life. The only child of a very successful politician, Oisin grew up surrounded by big, important people who were cut-throat, intelligent, and powerful. When his father took a job as a royal advisor to the Persian empire, he was surrounded by a new kind of power: royalty. The gleaming and glittering was intoxicating to a 10-year-old, but his father was quick to remind him that riches were deceiving. Power wasn’t held in gold or jewels, it was held in secrets and information.

That lesson stuck to him, and he taught himself how to appear disarming and trustworthy. He learned when to speak, and when to stay quiet. He learned how to single out the most powerful person in the room, and who they kept around them. Oisin’s father kept him under his wing, teaching him everything he knew, and Oisin quickly became a staple in council meetings. When his father died, Oisin was the natural successor. He was young but clearly very smart, he had proven himself countless times over the years, and he was trusted by those around him.

In his younger days, he was obsessed with power and information, but never status. Having a throne didn’t matter to him, so long as he still could affect change. His intentions were never evil- he knew his ideas were good, and he could be a very positive influence on the people of Persian-so he began advising the Sultana. Their relationship was positive for many years, but he was effectively a puppet master. It wasn’t his intention to manipulate her, but he didn’t make any effort not to. Eventually, his role as advisor was stripped from him, and he was exiled from Persia and sent back to Ireland.

It took some time, but he slowly regrouped and made a name for himself amongst the Irish people. He was well-liked and growing increasingly successful, but for the first time in his life, his eyes were on a throne. Being exiled turned his worldview on its head, and he realized the only way to ensure a position of power was to collect information and leverage until there was no one above him. His ideas were good, and he knew he could bring a kingdom into an era of prosperity and influence, someone just had to hand him the reins and let him do what he needed to do. He never wanted to be in a position where he could be sent away on the whims of a ruler, and the only way to do that is to become the ruler.

After biding his time, he found his target: Spain. The split between the Ortiz’s and the Bonaparte’s was prime ground for a coup. The Bonaparte's crown prince was dead, leaving their new ruler unprepared for the job and increasingly reliant on their advisors. Oisin hatched a plan: he would swoop in as the benevolent, understanding advisor, slowly and carefully seduce the ruler, and become king.

now:

oisin used The Reckoning to his advantage. The instability and fear created an opening for someone with a clear head to step in, and he took it. In the last few months, he has begun to collect power and influence in the Northern Spanish court and his ability to restore a semblance of peace has earned him the trust of the royal family. Some have questioned his motives, but it was easy enough to either remove or placate them.

What has been more difficult is the realization that he may actually be falling for the ruler. The lines have begun to blur, and he cannot tell where the scheme ends and his feelings begin, but for the time being, he is ignoring this obstacle and focusing on the task at hand: becoming king.
