After 12 days with no updates, the PRCS announced the deaths of 6 y/o Hind Rajab and the ambulance team who volunteered to go save her. Despite the PRCS working with the IOF to coordinate safe passage for the ambulance, the ambulance was found destroyed by IOF bombs, with both volunteer crew members Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun murdered inside. Hind was murdered inside the car, where she had been trapped for hours with the bodies of her family members.

Hind’s 15 y/o cousin Layan Hamadeh had called PRCS emergency services after the car in which she and her family, including her younger cousin Hind, came under heavy gunfire by the IOF. Layan was shot to death while on the phone with PRCS emergency dispatchers, a fact which is documented via recordings of the phone call. Hind then took the phone and begged the dispatchers to send help to take her away, as the IOF was still showering the car with bullets. Ambulance crew members Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun volunteered to go rescue Hind. Dispatchers soon last contact with the child. They then lost contact with Yusef and Ahmed when the ambulance arrived near the location of the vehicle by Fares petrol station in Tal Al-Hawa.

This point cannot be emphasized enough: the PRCS worked with the IOF, getting their agreement not to attack the ambulance as it arrived at the scene. The IOF agreed, and then knowingly bombed the ambulance anyway, while also knowingly killing 6 y/o Hind inside her family’s car. They knew there was a 6 y/o child inside that car, and kept firing until they murdered her. They knew the entire time what they were doing, and lied about cooperating with emergency services in order to maximize the number of lives they could take.

The depravity and impunity of the occupation is truly boundless. Hind’s final hours were spent in absolute terror, and Yusuf and Ahmed’s courage and selflessness were rewarded with their murders. The PRCS did everything right. They coordinated with the IOF and sought their permission for the ambulance to pass, something which was already required under international law. The IOF abused this attempt at cooperation by lying about their compliance, then deliberately murdering Hind, Yusuf, and Ahmed, in addition to Layan and her entire family.

We write this update in tears, having hoped and prayed for a different outcome like everyone else. This round of aggression by the IOF has already seen unimaginable cruelty, suffering, and impunity. The complete, deliberate, and flagrant violation of international law and human decency is a stain on the conscience of the Global North and every president, staffer, soldier, and bureaucrat who made this happen. May the recorded voices of Layan and Hind, begging for rescue before dying alone, haunt them for the rest of their days.

Remember Hind, Layan, Yusuf, and Ahmed. Do not let despair consume you. Fight for them, for a permanent ceasefire, for accountability, and for whatever justice can be achieved, even if it seems small and pointless. Tell the world what the occupation has done, share the recordings and the updates from people on the ground. No matter how bleak things are, it is always worthwhile to tell the truth and fight for what’s right.

Keep Hind’s mother, grandfather, and surviving relatives, and the families of Yusuf and Ahmed in your hearts.

🚨 The surrounding land is mostly graves of Palestinians who were killed when the Israeli forces attacked the hospital the first time.

🚨 Homes surrounding Al Shifa medical complex are now being targeted.

“Israeli occupation forces attacked Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent Ismail Alghoul in Gaza whilst he was performing his journalistic duties. Following the attack, he was arrested, and the broadcast vehicle along with cameras and equipment was destroyed.

Al Jazeera Media Network demands the immediate release of its correspondent and the other journalists who were detained alongside him, and holds the occupation forces fully responsible for their safety.”

the thing is with all those initial "violence is bad :( don't kill civilians :( both sides deserve peace :( standing with israel :(" takes is that maybe they could've been written off as ignorance. maybe these people really are just clueless and saw that there had been an attack and thought "oh no that's sad people have died" and gave zero thought to the context or the inevitable consequences. but now we are witnessing the exact horrifying retaliation that anyone with a brain and a surface level understanding of the conflict could've seen coming and all of those people are either going back to radio silence or even continuing to wholeheartedly support israel and it's like.. ok then. clearly that wasn't ignorance it was selective empathy or possibly just straight up cruelty. guess we'll disregard your supposed stance that targeting civilians is a deplorable war crime

Situation at Al-Shifa Hospital as of 6 pm Gaza time

In the early hours of the morning, the IOF bombed a residential complex across the street from Al-Shifa Hopsital. At least 7 were martyred, with many more injured and/or trapped under rubble.

Journalist Mohammed Al Hendi reports on this on Instagram.

Anas Al-Sharif reports this on Telegram as well.

As the day progressed, the IOF continued bombing the vicinity of Al-Shifa.

Journalist Mahmoud Ziad documents the scene from a rooftop within Al-Shifa complex. Nearby he also documents frequent warplane activity, as well as constant heavy machine gun fire from IOF naval craft just off-shore.

Nurse Mohammed Saeed reports frequent bombing very, very close to Al-Shifa Hospital.

Photographer Eyad Muhammad documents the bombardment within the hospital vicinity.

Journalist Wadea Abu Alsaoud has had to be treated at least twice today after collapsing while covering the bombardment around the hospital. He was targeted by the IOF while documenting the bombing, but thankfully he says his ailment is only minor.

There does not appear to have been a major change in the situation since this afternoon, but I will update as needed. Check reblogs for updates.

it is important to remember how heavily surveilled Gaza is and how israel knows where every single person lives. this is why many journalists have been martyred, not in the field while reporting, but in their homes, as they went home to see their families and get some rest. furthermore, if you follow motaz azaiza closely, you'll know that recently he has also had some close calls with israeli airstrikes, suggesting that israel is indeed targeting active Palestinian journalists, especially those who report in english or have a lot of reach in the west.

please do not fall for israeli propaganda and convince yourselves that israel is justified in murdering innocent Palestinians who only seek to show the world a small glimpse of the hell they live through everyday. call out this propaganda everywhere you see it, and spread awareness about this being a propaganda tactic. by israel's own logic, if journalists happen to record an armed group as they carry out an operation, then journalists from cnn who have embedded themselves with the idf, are also legitimate targets.

and as much as i hate a lot of these american journalists for their complicit reporting in the genocide of Palestinians, i think they deserve to be prosecuted in a free and fair court of law, not to be blown to bits for it. however, for israel, ALL palestinians must be killed to ensure the security of the zionist entity. even the existence of a single Palestinian is proof that israel is an illegitmate settler-colonial state that ethnically cleansed the indigenous population.
