The World’s Largest Wooden Structure
METROPOL PARASOL, SEVILLE, SPAIN (October 24, 2017) Rafael motioned for us to hustle. We were supposed to be heading back to our tour bus, but our guide decided at the last minute to make a detour to an undisclosed place. That meant doubling our pace so we could still be at our pick up point without delay. Weaving through pedestrians on the Spanish sidewalk, we turned a corner but were unprepared for what greeted us.
Tumblr media
Also known as Las Setas de la Encarnación or Mushrooms of Incarnation, the building is touted as the largest wooden structure in the world and is composed of six mushroom-shaped parasols. I was literally breathless.
Tumblr media
I wished we had time to survey the place. Maybe explore the views of La Encarnación square and its nearby surroundings from atop the structure. Maybe take better pictures. But I was happy we made the stop. Now it was really time to head for the bus.

Audio
VA - Total 21 - Kompakt’s annual compilation of beat-oriented electronica is out today (the ambient comp usually arrives in late November)
TOTAL turns 21 this year, and Kompakt’s venerable compilation series couldn’t have asked for a more auspicious coming-of-age collection. If TOTAL 20 was consolidation against the odds, the Kompakt crew producing for a dreamt-of dancefloor in an uncertain future, then TOTAL 21 feels abuzz and alive with possibilities. Significantly, it’s the first TOTAL in some time that’s streamlined down to a single disc; this makes TOTAL 21 even punchier than usual, a joyous, reflective, and always thrilling 75-minute audio scan of the world according to Kompakt.
Tracklist 1. Jurgen Paape – La Guitarra Romantica (05:41) 2. Michael Mayer – Happy (06:02) 3. John Tejada – Spectral Progressions (05:53) 4. Kollmorgen – You Are The (Patrice Bumel remix) (07:11) 5. Captain Mustache – Everything (feat Play Paul) (05:29) 6. Nicky Elisabeth – Celeste (Roman Flogel remix) (08:03) 7. Sascha Funke – Fasson (05:09) 8. Voigt & Voigt – Nicht Mein Job (04:59) 9. Jonathan Kaspar – Von Draussen (06:40) 10. Marc Romboy & C.A.R. – I Am A Dancer (07:42) 11. Robag Wruhme – No (06:56) 12. The Bionaut – Blue Sky Motor Lodge (05:32) 13. Gui Boratto – Wake Up (06:21)
