Chapter 154 was exactly what I had been craving for. The story took a break from the action and slowed down to let us have a glimpse into the lives of our beloved guild and characters.

And we finally got to know what Erik has been upto all this time: Not only is he in Magnolia but planning to settle down with Kinana. All I wanted was updates on Kinabra and their development but Mashima gave us a happy meal with the news of their engagement.

Erik's first proper exposure to the guild was, keeping with the time honoured tradition of FT, wild. And who would have thought that the mighty Cobra would be scared away by none other than Warren lmao? Between Warren and Laxus planning to go all John Wick on him, my man has a tough road ahead of him. Still, I'm glad that he is around and, hopefully, will join the guild for good.

I also need more chapters like these following the lives of both Team Natsu and the guild(s) back home in Fiore before the action resumes. And it's high time there is some development on the romances as well. Only Gajevy and Kinabra seem to have some sense in that department. Actually, they have so much of it that they could impart some to their friends and still be left with plenty lol.

The cover was a cute throwback to the Key Of The Starry Sky arc and Erik's promise that he would return to Kinana on a shooting star.

A small wee note of the non human characters in the au, including hybrids and excluding exceeds since that ones a given.

Gajeel- The most obvious considering his hybrid nature is integral to the story itself but he is half dragon half human

Freed- I've discussed this before and literally shared my design for this and if you've read the oracion seiz arc then you'd know I had that conversation between him and Laxus but he is half demon half human

Ivan- He is half elf, half human

Laxus - By extension, Laxus is about a quarter elf which is where the points to his ears came from (Something mentioned in the revenge arc)

Cobra/Erik- He's an elf, something I think a large portion of the fanbase agrees on (Might be wrong but I've seen it in a few fics)

Natsu- Its literally canon he's part demon so of course he is

Kinana- I like to imagine that once she's turned back to human, her dna is slightly altered so she still has a few quirks from being cubellious. Not quite non human but close enough.

(There may be more later on. This is just who I could remember of the top of my head)

I like your analysis of Cobra’s and Kinana’s relationship. You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. Do you have a BROTP headcanons for them?

Even in my gentlest days with regard to Fairy Tail, Kinana emphatically does not exist to me. Because there was no reason for her character to be created to begin with besides a relationship with a man, removing that quality basically removes any reason for her to be there. Kinana doesn't have much in the way of a personality, so there's not much I can do with her--if you could BROTP her with Cobra, you could do it with anyone. You would have to create some raw material in order to generate anything I'd be interested in.

So since I didn't wanna "sorry bro" this ask, I made an AU, a la the Laxus/Loke Gamer AU:

So Cobra is this hardcore hacker whose proficiency with data theft is so absolutely unreal it's rumored he hears your thoughts. Kinana is his secretary.

He has absolutely no higher noble goals with who he ruins. If he's after a politician or celebrity, he wants their money, and that's it. Kinana frequently tries to feed him targets that, you know, deserve to be completely nuked by news anchors, but Cobra is unpredictable.

He can definitely handle a gun, though, don't get it twisted. He doesn't sit around letting his eyesight atrophy looking at computers all day. He's got scars from a fair few assassination attempts when targets tried to have hits placed on him. Kinana frequently worries for his safety.

Getting away from Cobra once he's got his digital hooks sunk in is very difficult. In most cases, you pay his ransoms or be destroyed, but there have been a select few who have been able to counter-hack him off their backs: a spy named Doranbolt, a mysterious woman going by the alias Angel, and some dude named Gajeel.

Kinana spends half her time with pictures pasted to a cork board trying to figure out Cobra's targets, enemies, and allies for him. One thing she is very certain of: Cobra has fucked at least one of the above people, and will not tell her which.

It's very much an exasperated kind of sibling relationship, in that Cobra is very impulsive and cheeky and moves at a very fast pace and yet in the same breath, Kinana has to constantly pull him out of his hacking room to make him eat and bathe and keep him from trying dumb shit like robbing the biggest global banks or whatever.

Kinana has trouble dating, because she has a very difficult time keeping up lies and maintaining them inbetween her and Cobra's constant moving of locations. Cobra makes endless fun of her for this.

She is the only one who knows his real name is Erik. She uses it when she is either very upset or very pissed with him and he hates it.
