It's been 7 years since we posted anything from French label SDZ Records (Paris, France). In the past the label was mentioned when posting about Le Villejuif Underground.

It looks like the founder of the label was perusing music on YouTube when they ran across the music of Silicone Values (Bristol, UK). To me, the band sounds like they are from the late 1970s - a mash-up of Television Personalities, Cleaners From Venus or Swell Maps (their catchy songs). I also thought of Hygiene's great "15 Minutes City".

If you're looking to hear more, here is the Silicone Values Bandcamp page. Reading some of the information on their releases it looks like members of several older bands drop by to record now and then, including The Moles.

Sophie's Hon Vol. IV Paris Fashion Week Edition

Welcome back to this series in time for the lovebirds' return to Paris, the City of Love, the same the city where we saw them kiss for the first time.

A lot of their most romantic pics yet and some sexy stuff under the cut!

WINE ME, DINE ME, SIXTY NINE ME . . . .

The first sight of Sophie and Perry in Paris was on Sunday, March 3th, while they were leaving Le Bristol Hotel to attend a especial dinner:

On their return to their hotel, Sophie was pictured very happy and relaxed and holding Perry's black jumper:

I guess Sophie was looking at Perry in these pictures, he seems to make her laugh and smile a lot 😊

Now, we don't know when the lovebirds arrived in Paris, but while these pictures were appearing on the internet, I was alerted by anon message that Sophie had created a playlist with a very particular name just the day before (Saturday, March 2th) . . . . 👀 🙈 🤭

The next day, Monday, March 4th, Sophie and Perry went to the Louis Vuitton Paris La Samaritaine store, probably for Sophie's outfit fitting for the next day show:

On their return to their hotel, they went on a very romantic stroll through the City of Love, holding hands, walking by le Pont des Arts, sitting on benches to exchange clothes, and being the most affectioned with each other . . . .

Oh my heart . . . . Why are they so cute and sweet and lovely???

OK, so when they actually arrive to their hotel, Sophie was wearing Perry's green jacket that looks so big on her, and I love it!

I know, Sophie, I know . . . . It's so nice to smell the scent of the person we love on us . . . .

Oh, to be young and in love . . . . in Paris 💕

GIRAFE & COSTES

During the night of Monday, March 4th, Sophie and Perry were seen at Girafe restaurant, and later at Costes restaurant.

There are several videos of Sophie being so nice and sweet with her fans waiting for her at her hotel door and at those restaurants doors. She took pictures and videos and sent greetings for a lot of lucky fans. You can watch it here & here.

In those videos you can see that Perry's friend, Rupert Gorst, joined them that night. He is the same friend that travelled with them to ski in Meribel.

In those videos you can also see that Sophie left Costes restaurant with a Glowery bag. Glowery is a brand founded by Alexandra Kolasinski (a long time friend of Sophie's ex husband), so Sophie probably met with her at Costes. I'm mentioning this just to reiterate that the "cheating allegations" are a made up narrative.

MAXIM'S

After the Show, Sophie and Perry were seen leaving Maxim's restaurant where Louis Vuitton held an after party:

During the after party, Sophie was seen next to singer Felix from Stray Kids and Nicolas Ghesquiere, while listening to singer Zaho de Sagazan performing her song La symphonie des éclairs on the piano.

Rupert Gorst joined Sophie and Perry for the after party as well. They sure had a blast.

Tiara Highlights of 2022

2022 was the year of the tiara debut with three future queens and a bunch of other people wearing their first tiara. All of my highlight picks are first tiaras and this isn't even all of them! You can check out all of the tiaras (or at least the ones I was able to find pictures of) worn during 2022 here.

Princess Fadzilah of Brunei's Wedding

Princess Fadzilah wore two of Queen Saleha's tiaras for her wedding to Abdullah Al-Hashimi in January. Both of them are massive so I'm impressed with how well she wore them for her first time wearing a tiara. Princess Fadzilah wearing the blue and pink diamond toppers but not the diamond heart made me realize that Queen Saleha's Diamond Tiara and Queen Saleha's Diamond Heart Tiara have been the same tiara all along. Also, there was a royal wedding cat who attempted to steal the show.

Tommy Dorfman at the Met Gala

The Met Gala usually provides us with a few tiara sightings and this year had even more because of the 'Gilded Glamour' theme. While many of the attendees wore bigger or more impressive tiaras, even one made specifically for the event, I keep being drawn to Tommy Dorfman wearing a Regency Era, green paste, hair-comb from Fred Leighton. This is the perfect way to wear a tiara to a fashion event. It's simple and stunning and by wearing it backwards but still placed impeccably it provides just that bit of quirkiness to make it stand out. It's different in an interesting way not just for the sake of being different. Special mention should go to Léna Mahfouf who also wore a tiara very well at an event where we saw a lot of bad ones.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway's First Tiara

The pandemic caused a bit of a backup in newly of age princesses wearing their first tiara so Princess Ingrid Alexandra's postponed 18th birthday celebrations provided not just her but also two other future queens their first opportunity to wear a tiara. The birthday girl wore a pearl and diamond tiara by Boucheron that belonged to her great-great-grandmother and was left to her by her great-aunt. I thought the Norwegian royal family did a great job of emphasizing the historical and emotional connection of Princess Ingrid Alexandra wearing the tiara and of course she looked great in it.

Princess Elisabeth of Belgium's First Tiara

The biggest surprise in Norway was actually from Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, the Duchess of Brabant. She wore a new to the family tiara that is most likely one that was once owned by the Vestey family. The Belgian royals don't have a large jewelry collection and very rarely add new pieces so it was totally unexpected but very welcome.

Princess Catharina Amalia of the Netherlands' First Tiara

Princess Catharina Amalia, the Princess of Orange, choose the Star Button Tiara for her first tiara outing. It was the one worn by her mother, Queen Maxima, on her wedding day so a very sentimental choice that she wore beautifully. Princess Catharina Amalia has spoken more than once about her love of tiaras so I'm very interested to see her explore the large Dutch collection in the future.

Sultanah Nur Diana Petra of Kelantan's First Tiara

This summer Nur Diana was elevated to the rank of Sultanah or Queen of Kelantan and in November we finally saw her in her first tiara. She choose Queen Zainab's Diamond Tiara which features the state emblem of Kelantan. I think she'll wear this one the most in the future but hopefully she wears some of the other tiaras belonging to the Kelantan royal family too.

Le Bal

There are usually tiaras at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris every year but this year the official jeweler was an antique/estate jeweler with a huge collection of historical items instead of a contemporary jeweler which made the event so much more exciting. Six of the attendees wore a tiara or aigrette for the first time. In the top row are Leah Isadora Behn, Archduchess Sophia of Habsburg-Lorraine, and Wenhao Cai and the bottom row are Bristol Fales Hill, Princess Hélène of Orleans, and Princess Inayatinder Kaur of Patiala.

"I should have been French”: Rebecca Ferguson, the secrets of the heroine of Dune

MEETING - After taming Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible, the flamboyant Swede is starring in the second part of the adaptation of Dune, the famous book by Frank Herbert, by Denis Villeneuve.

A great director knows how to give depth to a secondary character in just a few shots; a great actress, she knows how to restore this substantial marrow by exploiting these moments - even the briefest - which are granted to her on the screen. A feat that Rebecca Ferguson accomplishes several times in the second part of Dune, piloted by Denis Villeneuve. A necessary know-how since she takes on by far the most complex and mysterious role in this cinematographic fresco adapted from the inexhaustible original work of Franck Herbert: Lady Jessica, a woman capable of controlling the actions of others through simple intonation of her voice, being able to decide the sex of the child she is carrying while being able to communicate with him.

However, she is surrounded by a cast that would make anyone's head spin (Timothée Chalamet, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, Josh Brolin, Charlotte Rampling...), but this 40-year-old Swede manages to make her memorable performance. Nothing suprising. Ferguson went to a good school. The best, perhaps, for learning to flourish without being stifled by such a team assembled in the middle of one of the biggest productions of the year.

In 2015, then unknown to the general public, she was cast alongside the biggest Hollywood star in one of the most famous franchises on the planet: Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible. A complete unknown, she must replace Jessica Chastain who refused the role of Ilsa Faust - a spy supposed to rival Ethan Hunt, played by Cruise, in muscle and charisma. Where the “James Bond Girls” left their mark in just one film, Ferguson established herself as the equal of her imposing partner in three episodes of Mission: Impossible and won the hearts of the public.

“It’s romantic, it’s sexy”

As we have understood, the Nordic woman is not afraid of taking on hot-blooded roles. “Please don't ask me how it feels to play powerful women,” she begs, taking off her heels before sitting down on the sofa at the Bristol in Paris, where we meet her. Teasingly, we ask her this question. She counters with a knowing and amused “Oh, fuck off”.

Then stops to order food. A green salad with the dressing on the side and “some protein, like fish or whatever.” Sad menu. Necessary, no doubt? She has to catch a train just after the promotion of Dune to join the filming of the second season of Silo, an excellent series produced and broadcast by Apple TV - but shunned by the audiences (like all the Apple brand's productions). And a bowl of fries,” adds the actress. Phew

So as not to completely forget powerful women, we ask her questions about the continuation of this career which is taking off like a rocket. “I would love to play in smaller, more intimate projects, where we have a little more say in the development of the story or the characters,” admits the actress. "The kind of project that many studios no longer want to support.”

Like those in which his costar from Dune, Thimothée Chalamet, debuted? “Yeah!”, replies the one who doesn’t speak French, but naturally places words from our language in the conversation. “I should have been French, anyway.” For the fries? “No, for the language, its movement, its sensation… there is an attitude.
