Big Finish are finally making the Sapphire & Steel audios legitimately available for purchase again!

They seem to be only available as boxsets unfortunately, but if you haven't heard them, £20 a time for what are mostly full-length four-parter audios, isn't bad either.

But you'll notice that they've added content warnings to them, which will be helpful for people, whatever method they may be listening by. (ahem).

I'm in the probably now quite tiny number of people who's listened to the Sapphire and Steel Big Finish audios and every time I relisten to Cruel Immortality and Ruby comes in I have to laugh, because I'm reminded that in three completely unrelated Big Finish series, three completely unrelated characters played by Lisa Bowerman solve the problem of the episode through song.

Just finished Ancient History in the new Ninth Doctor Adventures set. Absolutely love this interpretation of Nine and Benny. It's such a weird one doing anything with Nine before Rose because he had such a coherent arc in that series, but this nails it. He's withdrawn and emotionally not ready to see his friends again while still being energetic and keen to get out into the universe.

Where to start?

This story is so much of an eleven story. It wouldn't have fit any other Doctor that much.

All the elements in this story resonate with each other in a way that shows how much care has been put into writing this, whether be it in terms of themes or events. It all wraps up perfectly in order to give you the perfect ending to a story that deserved nothing less and yet it surprises you.

It is really moving from start to finish and Nora really succeeds in being the main character of this story, even if she shares the spotlight with our enthusiastic Eleven.

I couldn't possibly advise you anything less than listening to it right now (for free on the Big Finish website)! You're in for a wonderful (and hopeful!) story about ageing and loneliness that will make you want to phone your grandparents right away!
