Anyway I refuse to believe that Chloe would be into hard core stuff. Looking at the timestamps, this was one month before Max’s first f1 race, and they last karted together in 2012 3 years prior. I have so many questions, like, were they cool at this point of time? Clearly they were friendly enough for Max to joke like this, but you can also notice that Charles only replied to Esteban LOL

re: my last rb i could talk for hours about the terrible extent to which typically autistic traits in drivers are ridiculed to hell and back by fans and haters alike. but the real disheartening part is that not many if any of the people joking more or less kindly about it recognize these traits as autistic. thinking about how such a widespread audience is able to clock that something is off in someone's speaking habits (maxsplaining), or facial expressions or lack thereof (discourse about how oscar comes off as boring/arrogant, discourse about how some drivers don't celebrate "enough" or "properly") and are so terribly cruel about it---WITHOUT necessarily being able to parse these as autistic---is just crushing. as someone that has autism. even if the drivers in question don't have autism and even if people don't recognize it as mocking autistic traits; to know that people could identify that something's just not quite right in how i speak and how i gesture and how i react to things, and their very first reaction to it would either to be weirded out or to make fun of me is seriously unnerving

#am i crazy for saying this ? i feel crazy for saying this #like i'll say it i ''relate'' to oscar's typical flat affect i relate to max talking and talking and talking after races #and i relate to those as autistic traits #and its just. it doesnt feel good to see those being treated as grounds to make fun of #maybe im too sensitive! maybe it doesnt even matter!#ackthually to me it matters. so.#and this isnt me saying they necessarily have autism either #(though i have my opinions on that........)#but i find it hard to not notice that the personality traits or quirks people typically make fun of within f1 circles #are traits easily associated with autism. or traits even i personally as an autistic possess #the takeaway being. um. dont make fun of people when theyre a little bit weird to your tastes. i guess #i dont even know like just dont be assholes to people for traits that are totally harmless and only weird because of what you think is weir
